Having confirmed his soul pact with the little servant-ranked Dusklight Wolf, Rao Wu smiled. "Alright little guy. If you're gonna follow me from now on then you need a name."
"Wao! Wao!"
The other Dusklight Wolf cubs barked with displeasure and jealousy. It had to be known that Rao Wu had named all the Dusklight Wolves in the tribe except for them. Just because Rao Wu chose the servant-ranked Dusklight Wolf did not mean he should suddenly ignore them.
"Pfft!" Rao Wu burst out laughing as he looked at the indignant cubs. "Don't worry guys! I'm gonna give you all names." Indeed, the only reason Rao Wu did not name them earlier and kept his distance was to reduce the chance he favored one of them over the others before he made the soul pact. "I'm just gonna name him first, alright?"
"Wurwuu~" The cubs nodded and then watched with excited eyes as Rao Wu tapped the servant-ranked cub.
Rao Wu's eyes held warmth as he looked into the cub's determined eyes. Its stubborn gaze bore the desire to rise above its destined path, and one day stand at the top of all soul monsters. "The only way to achieve the strength you want is to continually fight, and breakthrough your limits. So, I'll name you Xian Da. Are you prepared to charge to the top with me?"
"Rraff!" Xian Da's energetic bark was weak and small, barely enough to frighten a cockroach, but it did not care. It would climb step by step, through a mountain of corpses and blood until a single bark would cause the continent to tremble. Perhaps it was an unreasonably lofty goal, but Xian Da had already set its little mind on it.
Rao Wu smiled when he saw the grit in Xian Da's eyes. After living for so long in the jungle, he had come to learn that strength was not enough to reach the pinnacle. Strength could protect one's position, but if they wanted to achieve even more, then they could only struggle to obtain the resources required. However, life was cruel, and without the necessary drive, many would become complacent with their lot. Rao Wu was thus completely satisfied with Xian Da's determination. Now, Rao just had to ensure that he kept Xian Da's flames forever lit. This was his job as a soul trainer.
"Wao! Wao!"
"Alright, alright, It's your turn." Rao Wu laughed as he turned to look at the remaining restless cubs. He looked at Midnight and Twilight and then nodded. Following the convention, he named them in order, "Lunar, Sunrise, Moonlight, and Eclipse."
Midnight and Twilight looked at Rao Wu with weird looks in their eyes. This was a little too carefree, right? "Wao! Wao! Wao!" However, their thoughts dissipated when they saw the joy in their cubs who were excitedly jumping around.
Twilight cracked a smile and then looked at Midnight. "Wu?" It felt the time was right. Rao Wu was at the perfect strength. Any longer, and they would miss the opportunity.
Midnight, however, had hesitation in her eyes. Even though she was cold and aloof, she truly saw Rao Wu as one of hers. Add to that, little Xian Da... It was too dangerous. However, she knew Midnight was right. This was the best time for them. Perhaps Rao Wu might even succeed where his father failed.
Seeing Midnight silent, Twilight knew he had convinced her. Only, this doting mother could not bring herself to say the words with her own mouth. Hehe, when did that selfish maverick become such a worrywart mother? "Rraff!" Twilight teased Midnight, causing him to nearly lose his tail from her sharp bite.
Twilight sweated as he dodged the irate mother. Why did he tease her like that? It wasn't like he did not know her temper.
Shaking his head, Twilight brought Rao Wu and Xian Da away from the other cubs. Once they were alone, Twilight's expression turned grave as he asked Rao Wu a question the child did not expect. 'Where do you think the Eternal Spring comes from?'
Rao Wu was confused. How was he supposed to know? All he knew was that the Eternal Spring seemed endless, could heal injuries, and he was not allowed to breathe a word of it to anyone else... not even his friend, Loudy.
Twilight, seemingly not expecting Rao Wu to know the answer, slowly revealed a strange history before Rao Wu could even open his mouth.
Many years ago, Twilight and Midnight were regular Dusklight Wolf cubs. One day, their tribe was attacked by a wandering Dusklight Wolf tribe. Their parents, who were part of the tribe's leaders were ultimately slain. Following the custom, Midnight, Twilight, and many other cubs should have been killed, but Midnight brought a group of them, helping them escape this ultimate calamity.
Unfortunately, the jungle was not a kind place to wandering cubs. Along the way, each of their friends died until only Twilight and Midnight remained. At this time, they came across a heavily injured youth who seemed to be running from some grave danger. That injured youth was none other than the young Taylor Wu.
Perhaps because he was in a precarious position, the young Taylor empathized with the lost cubs. He carried the faint cubs into a nearby cave and fed them his rations. However, Taylor's pursuers doggedly chased him into the cave. Realizing he would get caught, Taylor ran deep into the cave. Luckily, he lost his pursuers in the maze-like tunnels, but then, he also lost his way.
Days went by, and just when the youth was about to give up, they stumbled into a luminescent cavern with a spring lake. This lake had miraculous healing properties. A few sips and the despondent trio were once again full of energy, and Taylor's injuries completely healed.
Taylor did not dare go out the same way he came in for fear of once again getting lost in the dark caves. But, with no other way out, Taylor proposed checking if the lake was connected to another cavern. The boy was an experienced adventure and often found that most lakes in caves were connected to larger bodies of water. However, only luck determined if the channel was passable.
Fortunately, Taylor's guess proved to be true. There was indeed an underground channel that led to another cavern. However, this cavern housed a terrifying test with incredible rewards. At the time, Taylor, Midnight, and Twilight failed to go all the way before getting ejected, but the rewards caused Midnight and Twilight to mutate into Star Dusklight Wolves.
Twilight did not know the origins of the test, but he was certain that Rao Wu and Xian Da would reap immense benefits if they managed to pass. However, in order to ensure Rao Wu performed better than his father, Twilight asked Rao Wu to get two objects.
The first was a leaf known to the humans as Diver's Heart. The second was to purchase numerous jugs. Both items could be found in human cities.
Rao Wu's eyes lit up with excitement. "Really!? I can go to the city?"
"Gruu~" Twilight growled softly. He felt bad for restricting Rao Wu's movements for so long. A human child belonged in a human town surrounded by fellow humans. He was afraid that spending so long in the jungle would have permanently altered Rao Wu's life. It was about time the child began to familiarize himself with humans. "Rraff!"
"Yes! I'll be careful," Rao Wu nodded. He was about to say something, but then he paused and slapped his forehead. "Ah! Loudy's strengthening! I have to see how it went!" The child's attention span was still very short. He took off as soon as he remembered his friend, leaving a bemused Twilight behind.
Meanwhile, on the surface, Rao Wu excitedly ran out of the cave to the mound where he left Loudy. "Oooh!" The child's eyes glistened with amazement when he saw the young Steelback Ape sitting on the ground and examining its body.
The strengthening seemed to have worked. The Steelback Ape's skin had transformed into a deep silver, signifying its defensive ability had ranked up to general rank. For Steelback Apes, their main attribute was their defensive skin. Once it ranked up to general, the Steelback Ape was considered to have also ranked up to general rank.
Rao Wu's eyes gleamed with joy as he tapped Loudy's arms and back. Feeling the increasingly firm muscles, Rao Wu chuckled as he praised his friend, "Hehe! A phase 2 general. I bet none of your mates will dare fight you now."
Loudy proudly roared and thumped its chest. "Guo~ Guo~"
"Hehe, I can't even come close to your strength now." Rao Wu rubbed his nose, but the bright grin revealed how happy he was for his friend. "Ah, that's right. Check this out!" Rao Wu quickly summoned Xian Da and then grinned as the little cub popped out of the summoning circle. "What do you think? I'm finally a soul trainer! I have my first soul pet too!"
"Guo~" A complicated light flashed in Loudy's eyes as he looked at Xian Da.
Rao Wu, oblivious to his friend's internal struggle continued to babble, "Ah, that's right. Uncle Twilight always said I'll go out into the world once I become a soul trainer. Ah, but then I'll have to say goodbye to everyone." Upon realizing the implications of what he just said Rao Wu's mood fell just as quickly as it rose, and he plopped down next to Loudy. "Hey, Loudy. Is the outside world really that great? I don't think I can live without seeing you guys for so long."
Loudy looked at the sullen Rao Wu. After a few moments, it made up its mind and then quickly fired off a series of unintelligible sounds. "Guo! Guo!"
Rao Wu's eyes lit up as he looked at Loudy. "Really? You'll come with me?"
"Guo! Guo! Guo! Guo~"
"Haha! Yeah! We'll conquer the world together, and then come back as heroes." The easily excited Rao Wu jumped to his feet and then raised his eyes to meet the setting sun. "We'll travel all over, fight every soul monster, and then... and then..." Rao Wu hesitated. There was one phrase Uncle Twilight had repeated since he could remember. The goal all soul trainers aspired towards. The road was long and perilous. But, as Rao Wu looked at Loudy, and then the grit in Xian Da's eyes, he steeled his resolve and shouted, "We'll become the Emperors of Soul Pets!"
Early the Next Morning, Rao Wu awoke before the sun rose. He had a long trek to reach the city, but there were certain things he had to take care of first. Rao Wu left the cave with Xian Da, and then greeted the Dusklight Wolves on sentry duty as he made his way to a nearby stream.
Rao Wu and Xian Da drank some water and had a quick wash, then the young man walked to an enclosure that had many shattered rocks and tree barks. This was Rao Wu's training ground, where he spent the better part of his morning before he went hunting.
"Guo~" Unsurprisingly, Loudy jumped down from a treetop. Every morning, he too joined Rao Wu's intense training. That was one major reason why his strengthening succeeded. "Guo Guo~" Loudy sent an apologetic gibber at Xian Da. The little cub did not know what it had gotten itself into by becoming this crazy boy's soul pet.
"Stop scaring him," Rao Wu softly scolded as he walked over and knocked on several tree trunks. After finding one that was to his liking, he nodded and then called Xian Da over. He placed his hand on the tree and then softly said, "Since you're a wolf, there's no point in focusing your training on your defense. Instead, we'll focus on your claws, teeth, and agility."
Xian Da's little head cocked to the side, not understanding what exactly Rao Wu wanted.
"Just like this." Rao Wu, rather than explaining, showed with his actions. Riip! The young man swiped at the tree with his hand. Surprisingly, his fingernails tore through the bark, leaving four deep impressions. Rao Wu's eyes lit up as he waved to Loudy. "Hey, it looks like my nails finally ranked up!"
"Hnghh!" Loudy snorted as he dropped a fresh boulder nearby. Rao Wu was too much of a freak! Who heard of a human's nails increasing in rank? That was supposed to be reserved for monsters.
Rao Wu ignored Loudy and then turned back to Xian Da. "If I can do it, you can. Give it a try."
"Rraff!" Xian Da approached the tree with a strong gaze and then raised its hand. Swipe! "Rraoo!" The little cub cried out in pain. The tree was much harder than it looked, causing the cub to nearly rupture its claws.
"Other paw!" Without giving Xian Da time to rest, Rao Wu ordered Xian Da to swipe with its left.
"Rruu..." Xian Da was in so much pain. But then, out of the corner of its eyes, it spotted Loudy crashing into the new boulder. Despite just strengthening itself the previous day, the rough boulder tore into its skin, causing it to bleed. Xian Da's eyes trembled. Even Loudy, as strong as he was, still harshly trained. As a servant-ranked Dusklight Wolf, it's starting point was even lower. If it wanted to accompany Rao Wu on his path to becoming an Emperor, then it had to walk an even bloodier and more painful path.
"Rraff!" Its resolve bolstered, Xian Da quickly swiped at the tree with its left paw. "Rrao!" It swallowed the pain, and then quickly repeated the process. Left, right, left, right. At first, the pain was unbearable, but overtime, Xian Da settled into a rhythm that let it push the pain to the back of its mind.
"Xian Da, Punishing Claws!"
Rao Wu's sudden call broke Xian Da's concentration, but the little cub still instinctively used the low-level technique. Energy poured into its right paw as it swiped at the tree bark.
Piak!
Xian Da's vision nearly went white with pain as one of its claws snapped off. Punishing Claws was a powerful technique, but when used on a tough surface, it only resulted in more harm to the user.
"Punishing Claw!"
Rao Wu's merciless voice broke through Xian Da's pain. The little cub, with tears in its eyes, quickly put energy in its left paw and then swiped at the tree again. 'Piak'
"Rwuwuwu~" Xian Da cried as it collapsed to the ground, blood bleeding from its paws.
"Good job." Rao Wu kneeled next to the crying cub and patted its back. "Loudy, bring the Sage Dewberries."
"Guo~" Loudy, as if predicting the request, already had a batch of Sage Dewberries firmly clasped in its hands. It passed the red leaves and fruit to Rao Wu, who squashed then squashed and blended them between his palms.
Rao Wu smiled softly as he gently lifted Xian Da's paw. "Sorry, this will sting a little." Sage Dewberries, when crushed with their leaves had a profound healing effect. Although their effects were nowhere as strong as the Eternal Spring Wine, Rao Wu used them as cover when he was outside the cave. Unfortunately, the mulch stung injuries while healing them.
Xian Da bit back its cries as tears pooled in its eyes. Its fighting spirit refused to lose to mere pain. It had never suffered so much pain in its life, but it knew that in order to improve, it first had to undergo a baptism of flame.
"Guo~" Loudy comforted the little cub as it sat down. The Steelback Ape recalled its first training with Rao Wu. It had suffered just as badly, crying when its fists bled from punching the tree barks.
"There we go." Rao Wu patted Xian Da when he finished applying the Sage Dewberry. In a few hours, a new, stronger set of claws would grow. Of course, Xian Da would have to repeat this process countless times before its claws would rank up. Rao Wu gently cradled Xian Da's paw as he looked into the cub's eyes. "Good work, Xian Da. I promise we'll climb to the top together."
"Rraff!" Xian Da's proud confirmatory bark pierced through the night.

With a heavy sigh, Elliot sat on top of the inn's roof. He was holding his cup of coffee, watching the cold nightlife of Solaguer in this festive season.
"A few days from now, snow will fall harder," Lance said behind him. "Can I sit next to you?"
"Yeah," Elliot whispered. His eyes never left the bright gems that lit up the streets and the city's square. He was both nervous and excited about how things would turn out the day after.
It was Round Two and he feels like they just had a dumb luck about choosing the Boss Island. If they had to fight other Adventurers, they would have to take it and then defend it for an hour. And if they'd encounter strong ones continuously, they'd run out of mana and stamina in the first half hour.
"Tomorrow, things will get crazier," Lance chuckled. "Ever since I joined the guild, I would always participate in the games. It was my rebellious phase with me showing my father my most rebellious side. And I didn't bother to know things. He was actually hurting, he was actually controlled."
"At least you have the time to regret things and do something about it," Elliot smiled. "I never got to meet my father."
For the first time since Lance arrived, Elliot looked at him. The latter's wattery ones met with Lance's dry ones. 
"Elliot, listen–"
"You have to forfeit." They turned around after hearing the voice behind them. It was Ryan, the police officer.
He was holding his left arm, it was filled with blood that covered through his his face.
"What happened?" Elliot gasped and ran to him. "Who did this to you?"
"The organization…" Ryan panted. "They're after the Twilight Bless."
Elliot turned to Lance who had the same surprised look in his face. Lance went to them and carried Ryan by himself. The police officer was much bigger than Elliot. Even with Elliot's strength, the boy would have a hard time carrying him.
"You know about the Twilight Bless too?" Elliot asked. "Who are after them?"
"They placed a curse on me," Ryan said. He grit his teeth and his eyes started to roll on the back of his head.
"Lance, let's bring him to Aki!" Elliot yelled and leaped off the roof. He dashed inside the inn and knocked on Aquarius's door. "Aki, we need your help."
The door flung open, revealing an Aquarius who seemed to just wake up. "Elliot, what's– oh."
The shorter boy didn't let him finish and grabbed his wrist, dragging him to the first floor of the inn where Lance placed the heavily wounded Ryan on the table.
"Holy mother of the gods," Aquarius gasped after seeing the blood that covered half of Ryan's body. 
Elliot had seen it clearer now with the light. The flesh on Ryan's right hand was almost chopped off completely. It looked like the person who attacked him was trying to cut his arm off but barely missed, cutting through the flesh and showing the bone.
There was also a mark on his arm, meaning there was a curse put on there. This must be the curse Ryan mentioned.
"I need a bucket of water," Aquarius said. It was then when the wound on Ryan's arm spewed blood like a geyser. "Make it a barrel."
Lance and Elliot nodded. They were now rushing to the back of the inn where they store their water supply. When they saw the barrel that was about the same size as Elliot, they both nodded in understanding and took the barrel with them.
Elliot had been trying to get ahold of Irus but he keeps on failing. It seemed like the voice's communication with him was regulated by The Manual, just like he said.
"Is this enough?" Elliot asked, placing the barrel beside Aquarius.
"This is plenty," Aquarius responded and opened the barrel. He dipped his hand there to check on it, making sure it was clean before he uses it. "Call the others. This is a serious case if they attacked a police officer. Plus I need their magic. If I save this man's life alone, I'm afraid I will not have enough mana for tomorrow's event."
"We're still gonna do that?" Elliot asked. Lance was with him, the prince's face scrunched in confusion.
"You want to let Christina's father kill her and the Cilcans?" Aquarius quirked his brow up.
"Fair point," Elliot and Lance chorused. They went upstairs to wake everyone up, telling them to go downstairs to help.
"There's not a day in our life where something interesting doesn't happen," Ed sighed. "I'll be right there."
The last room was Midnight's room. Elliot volunteered to check on him and let Lance assist Aquarius first.
Elliot made sure to knock on the door before opening it, looking around the room for Midnight.
"Hello?" Elliot called but received no response. "Midnight?"
"She's alive…" Midnight whispered. "I think she's alive."
"Midnight?" Elliot slowly walked to his friend and found him curled up in the corner. "Are you okay?"
Midnight's eyes looked like they were about to pop out from their sockets. He was rocking himself back and forth while whispering incoherent words.
"Midnight, are you okay?" Elliot tried to touch him but his wrist was held by someone behind him. "What's with the–"
He turned around to see Galaxia gripping his wrist. Galaxia's other hand placed a finger on his lips to signal silence. "Don't talk. Slowly walk out the room."
"But I–"
"Just do it," Galaxia said. He loosened his grip on Elliot's hand and watched him back away. When Elliot spun, he saw Lance and Sun by the doorway.
"What is happening?" Elliot asked. "Midnight just finished his monthly cycle. The full moon just passed."
"This is not about the full moon, Elliot," Sun said.
Galaxia turned to them and nodded. It was a signal for Sun to close the door and leave him alone with Midnight. The last thing Elliot saw were Galaxia's cosmic-colored sparks lit up the room.
"Follow me," Lance said to Elliot, leading the way downstairs. They passed through Aquarius who was now stabilizing Ryan with the help of the others and walked out of the inn.
There, Elliot could only gasp after seeing the dark cloud hovering over the inn. Since they were on the further side of Solaguer where the lights weren't as bright, it couldn't be easily seen. But for them who were close, the cloud was threateningly scary.
It wasn't big, but it looked ominous. The cloud was shaped imperfectly that it had rough edges in it.
"Midnight and Sun were adopted for a few weeks before," Lance said. "And the woman in charge of the adoption center hated Midnight's choice of clothing. So she abused him physically."
"But why does Midnight dress like that?" Elliot couldn't help but ask. "He look stable, but he's not."
"It's a scar from his childhood," Lance said, looking at the cloud. "Midnight had been scarred all his life."


It was always Elliot's dream to become an Adventurer.

Lin Jie's expression was that of one looking at an idiot. "Since they could be sent, it means these were the records within the game or screenshots. All files, photos, and videos from the outside cannot be seen in the game, that's common sense… Alright, guild leader Z, how about we talk about the cooperation between us? The three attacks were flung onto the same Sun Sword and instantly destroyed it. The combo of Shield Cut after normal attack finished off another Sun Sword!
Character Z scoffed as he waved the thin sword in his hands, and a whirlwind enveloped Lin Jie's Broken Blade again. From what Wind Rider Sword Saint had mentioned, Lin Jie knew that Character Z currently grasped one of the Warrior's Nine Great Techniques "Seven Spinning Slash", though he was not familiar with it yet.

Countless arrows were shot towards Lin Jie! One of them pierced into the Kiara Beast King Armor, and sparks of fire were created. Lin Jie felt a collision to his chest, and a huge damage value popped up: 492!
The attributes weakened by Seven Swords Formation, together with the Defense Weakening Potion, made Lin Jie's Defense attribute drop rapidly! These attacks, which he did not need to take note of normally, had also dealt such high damage now.
"F*ck it!"
Lin Jie gritted his teeth and let out a roar. The layers of muscles in his body shook, his skin turned into azure blue color where layers of thick and hard scaly armor that were like heavy armor appeared. He had poured all his remaining health points into the Sea King Scaly Armor and activated Undefeated Anger and Death Rage, going all out! Lin Jie's eyes locked on deadly to Character Z, Chaos In The Sky, and Eighteen Massacres.
He wanted to break through the Seven Swords Formation, kill three people, and retreat safely in the shortest amount of time!
It seemed hard, but there were chances of success!
"Hah!" Lin Jie raised his Broken Blade high, and instantly, the roar of a dragon resounded through the air, Dragon's Roar! The vigorous sound wave totally knocked back the Sun Swords, and damage values of 5,000+ popped up before breaking the swords!
Hunter's Forward Charge! Wild Charge!
Lin Jie roared like a wild beast and released a Blade Aura, which shot towards Character Z!
Just at that moment, beneath Lin Jie's feet actually appeared a strange magic circle! This time, it depicted a pale blue flower that was small and cute, it was like an orchid which bloomed in the snow-covered mountain… However, Lin Jie's eyes were filled with fear. That magic circle was actually a Freeze Array, and his Undefeated Anger was about to end, if he was frozen now, then he would definitely die!
"Death Grip!"
An idea flashed in Lin Jie's mind since it was like this, then why not grab a "Health Potion" here first! Lin Jie had the Bloody Demonic Ring, and the Life-Steal effect would also increase when a Berserker was in low health.
He had grabbed a Paladin named Liaodong Xiaoze, the Paladin wore a Golden Armor Set "Glory Defender" and his health points was at least over 3,800 points, he was a blood bull[1]. As long as he was pulled over, then Lin Jie would at least regen 400 points of Health Points! Also, Paladins had Lay on Hands, so if Liaodong Xiaoze used that skill to regen to survive, then the number of health points Life-Steal sucked would still be able to increase.
"Liaodong, activate Divine Shield!" Character Z squinted his eyes as he smiled coldly. He shouted, "All melees retreat, don't give him the chance to use Life-Steal! Hunters and Mages attack!"
Liaodong Xiaoze instantly activated Divine Shield and immediately escaped after being grasped by Death Grip. The other melee jobs also retreated one after the other and stayed outside of Lin Jie's attack range.
Swoosh! Swoosh!
Once again, the team of Hunters formed arrows and shot towards Lin Jie! 
The Freeze Array also activated, and Lin Jie's legs were frozen tightly in place. What was more infuriating was that Lin Jie did not dare to use Holy Light Rejuvenation Potion at all, or else the jobs with Crowd Control that were eying him and ready to make a move at any time, would instantly attack. Chaos In The Sky and Shadower would also attack the moment Lin Jie drank the potion.
Arrows which could be seen all over the sky formed a black rain of arrows. The torrent of arrows shot towards Lin Jie ferociously!
"Fiery Dragon Taunt!"
Just at that moment, a fiery-red figure zoomed past Lin Jie. That person wore red armor and rode a Flame Warhorse. The hooves of the horse sounded, and the explosion of the Gold Iron could be heard, countless attacks landed on the Fiery Dragon Shield! The Fiery Dragon Shield started burning in scorching flames as if it were a fire veil!
Inksnow blocked with her shield valiantly in front of Lin Jie. Her long hair drifted along with the wind, but her eyes swept past Lin Jie. "I thought you had given me a coordinate for a treasure for free, but it turns out you wanted me to be your shield, how troublesome. If I knew it was like this, I wouldn't have come," she said.
Inksnow, the best Shield Specialist in Triumphant Midnight. No one could stop her as she rode the Flame Warhorse towards Lin Jie!
"Instakill him!" Character Z knew it was not good once Inksnow arrived. Chaos In The Sky spun the dagger in his hand, and in a flash, he suddenly disappeared.
At that moment, the Bandits from Twilight Transmigration hiding in the outer peripheral all sent news back that a large number of people appeared from all directions! It seemed to be the people from Steel Allies, and there were many Brotherhood members. Lastly, there was also a guild named Supreme Tribe.
Supreme Tribe was the guild that Baili Changcheng had created.
'We must kill Lone Wolf before his reinforcements arrive. A Shield Specialist and a Berserker only, what can they do?' Character Z thought about it as his eyes gradually turned cold. He activated Forward Charge and rushed towards Lin Jie!
Inksnow pushed Lin Jie away and shouted, "I'll block him, you go and kill those Mages, the spells are way too painful."
"Okay!"
Lin Jie immediately charged towards the team of Mages behind Inksnow.
Inksnow was still the Legendary MT, the best Shield Specialist in Lin Jie's previous life, needless to say, naturally she was powerful. However, Inksnow had never come into contact with Character Z before and did not know that his attack was the Nine Great Techniques' "Seven Spinning Slash". She activated Fighting Spirit, as well as Shield of Life, and raised her shield, charging towards Character Z.

Whirlwind was like a soft hand which even made Character Z's Dark Gold Longsword become soft and flexible, in the blink of an eye, it was like a soft sword which entangled the Fiery Dragon Shield tightly. With a vigorous flick, Inksnow actually couldn't move.
His Whirlwind had the effect of entangling the target's weapon (shields belonged to the weapon category), but the size of the shield was much larger than the size of the Broken Blade so it could only entangle it for 1 second.
However, that was already enough! Because the sky that was filled with arrows that would take the opportunity provided in that one second to bypass the shield and kill Inksnow!
"I am from Triumphant Midnight, even so, you still dare to kill me? Z, you're really not giving me any face." At that moment, Dumb Fox finally arrived. The six year old Rank 11 Spirit Master and his conscious Spirit Ring, returned to Green Mulberry City after completely stabilizing is ascension from being a Rank 10 Spirit Trainee, and the formerly giant black crane raised an eyebrow at Bing Xian's cultivation technique.

"So basically, when you cultivate your Spirit Essence, every 10 levels you need to integrate a new Spirit Ring to ascend to the next stage of cultivation? And by reaching level 100 and becoming you become a God? Isn't that a little too easy?".

Bing Xian shook his head in denial.

"From what I've seen, a level 99 Extreme Douluo is roughly equivalent to a Life Destruction Martial Artist. I've never seen a martial artist at the Divine Sea Realm, nor have I ever seen someone who has ascended to Godhood fight. I don't even know how many levels there are after Godhood, and I don't know how many realms there are after Divine Transformation....".

Bing Xian bit his lip and gazed at the Red Spirit Ring beside him.

He wondered why this massive bird possessed such a huge age, while its spiritual power was so low. He thought that after absorbing his first Spirit Ring, his cultivation would jump to level 12 Spirit Master, or even level 13!

But it didn't, because the massive cranes power lied primarily in its physical body, not its spiritual essence.

"Life Destruction Beasts have ten times the lifespan of human Life Destruction martial artists. And because of one of my fortuitous encounters, I extended my lifespan several hundred times over! It's what helped me reach Life Destruction. When I was born, I was just a normal black crane.... but after 700,000 years, I became the [Immortal Midnight Crane]!".

Bing Xian rolled his eyes at the over exaggeration of the black crane.

He supposed it was alright if his morale was kept up. It wouldn't do any harm, if the voices in his head were kept happy rather than wrathful.

The rank 11 Spirit Master smiled, but his eyes were drawn to the blood red Spirit Ring will seven golden wing like markings inlaid on the Ring.

His haul from this little adventure was much more than he originally bargained for! 

This 700,000 year old Spirit Ring actually granted him 3 Spirit Abilities! 3!

Since his [Undying Nightmare Ghost Demon] possessed the greatest affinity with the [Immortal Midnight Crane], it integrated with the Spirit Ring.

The first benefits Bing Xian noticed from integrating with Senior Crane's Spirit Ring was the humongous boost in speed! Bing Xian managed to travel roughly 20 meters in the time it took to take a breath!

This boost wasn't a Spirit Ability. It was the [Immortal Midnight Crane's] Wind and Darkness affinity which boosted his speed so much!

"Of course! If it's one thing I'm proud of it's my speed! I could outrun most Life Destruction martial artists and even other Life Destruction Beasts had to exert quite a bit of effort to catch me!".

The small crane pointed its beak to the sky, and stated arrogantly. The small smirk on its face caused Bing Xian to roll his eyes once more at the silly bird's antics.

His Spirit Rings first ability was called [Twilight Slash]. It gathered Spiritual Power in Bing Xian's arm and with a slashing movement, a pitch black wave of Spiritual Power was sent flying at the enemy. The size of the wave could be adjusted by the amount of Spiritual Power Bing Xian put into the ability.

The weakest could only cut a blade of grass, while the strongest could cut a tree with the thickness of a man's thigh clean in half!

If exposed to a human body, it could cut limbs off with relative ease, or even do major damage to the internal organs!

Unfortunately, using a maximum level [Twilight Slash] would take half of Bing Xian's Spiritual Power! Half!

'I'll have to raise my cultivation some more in order to use the skill freely, and to its greatest effect...', he thought.

The second ability was called [Tendrils]. It was limited in its range, but within 1 meter of Bing Xian's body, he could shoot tendrils of shadows out of his own shadow that could pierce through his enemies!

It was a good close quarters skill, that he could use if the enemies got too close to him. His speed, while definitely his strong point, could be countered if he met an enemy with a high enough cultivation.

Having this skill hidden in reserve would be a reassuring thought in Bing Xian's mind.

Finally, his third and final spirit ability was called [Shadow Wind Strike]. Another offensive spirit ability, allowed Bing Xian to shape his hand as if he was going to pierce through them with his fingers. Doing so would create a black wind around his arm and strike the enemy head on!

It was reminiscent of the way the [Immortal Midnight Crane], dived beak first in order to strike cleanly through his enemies. 

It was his greatest skill and possessed the the most efficient use of Spiritual Power out of his three skills.

"See! Aren't I amazing! I give 3 Spirit Abilities instead of one! I'm the strongest Crane in the skies! Hahaha!".

Bing Xian chuckled at the crane's words but didn't roll his eyes.

After the [Immortal Midnight Crane] became his first Spirit Ring, its massive body was just left in the mountains near Green Mulberry City. Every time Bing Xian spoke of trying to harvest it for its meat and blood, the Crane would rampage inside his Sea of Consciousness. 

It was like trying to calm down an angered chicken rather than a majestic crane!

In the end, they came to an agreement.

"I'll allow you to harvest my blood, but you must promise to burn my body! I don't won't any dirty low level beasts feasting on my flesh and bones. And since I don't have any Spirit Bones, you may not take my skeleton!".

It seemed rather fair to Bing Xian. The Crane had agreed to become his Spirit Ring and his body was just left lying on a mountainside, ready for the picking.

"Good... this should be far enough".

The spiritual body of the [Immortal Midnight Crane] flew upwards before landing on Bing Xian's shoulder. The two stood tall on a cliff side overlooking the setting sun.

The pair stared off into the sunset, and behind Bing Xian were several dozen large vats of blood, covered in an outrageous amount of shrubbery to hide them, and dozens of herbs to hide the scent.

"Where are you going to go from here? The Sky Spill Continent is far and wide, and even I haven't seen the entire extent of it..... If you need to find another Spirit Ring, I know where we might find a few....".

The six year old child whose head the crane was sitting on nodded slightly as he looked out over the endless mountains and valleys.

'In this new world, the quality of cultivation is much higher than my previous ones.... but!'.

He turned around aggressively and the sun cast a long shadow of the six year old child, one that resembled a adults! His facial expression resolute and his will stronger than forged steel!

'In this world.... I shall be King!'

After the Aerial Relay race rematch, Twilight and Spike are accompanied by her friends Applejack, Rarity, Pinkie Pie and the CMC's along with two royal guards as they started to head towards the Crystal Empire train station. "I can't believe Ponyville won!", Apple Bloom said happily, "Yeah, not only did Ponyville beat Cloudsdale on the medal count!", Sweetie Belle added,  "But also at the Aerial relay race too!", Scootaloo also added. "You three were really wonderfull back there. But does anypony know where Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash might be?", Twilight asked hoping to celebrate with all of her friends. "Well, I recon those two might be at the train station by now", Applejack said. "And with the rest of the team Ponyville of course", Rarity added. "Well then, what are WE waiting for LET'S GO THERE AND CELEBRATE!!", Pinkie Pie said cheerfully as they made their way towards the train station.
Meanwhile at the Crystal Empire train station, Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash are with the rest of team Ponyville. "Yeah yeah I know I'm awesome", Rainbow Dash said flaunting her medals as she and the rest of team Ponyville are waiting from the Train Station. "Ahem", Fluttershy and Thunderlane both said. "I-I mean WE were awesome", Rainbow Dash corrected herself. "YEEAAH!", Bulk Biceps said. "That's better, Fluttershy said.
After the Aerial relay race rematch, Soarin and the rest of team Cloudsdale flew out of the arena and started to head towards the train station. "I can't believe we came in 2nd", Fleetfoot said. "Well, that Rainbow Dash sure is something alright", Spitfire said. "She sure is", Soarin said. "Well we're gonna have to train extra harder next time. Not only did Ponyville beat us in the medal count last time and this time but they beat us in the relay race too", Spitfire announced as they arrive at the train station.
"Anyways hey Crash, we have practice after we get back to Cloudsdale so Don't be late", Spitfire said. "WHAT?! COME ON. We literally just finished the Equestria Games. Can't we at least wait until tomorrow and after we finish resting our hooves?", Rainbow Dash said. "Sorry Crash, but we have a lot of practicing to do especially after our performance at the games and we have an upcoming show at this year's grand galloping gala". "Okay so first of all I wasn't even on your team." "Yeah, Neither was I", Thunderlane agreed." "um girls", Fluttershy whispered. "And second what performance", Rainbow Dash Argued. "Girls", Fluttershy whispered again. "Keep talking back and your gonna be on stall duty for the next few months. Everyone continued taking until Fluttershy whisper yelled, "GIRLS!". "WHAT!", Rainbow Dash and Spitfire said impatiently. "The train's leaving". "WHAT!", everypony said as they looked at the train in the distance. "Well why didn't you say anything?", Rainbow Dash said. "Well I was trying to tell you guys but you were to busy arguing so you didn't hear me", Fluttershy said softly yet firm. "Well don't just stand there go after it", Spitfire said as she and the other Wonderbolts left. "Awww COME ONNN", Rainbow Dash whined as they left.
Meanwhile Twilight and her friends had arrived just in time at the train station. "There you are you two", Applejack said. "Oh hey Twilight what are doing here?", Rainbow Dash asked. "Well Rainbow Dash I was hoping that we could finally catch up and celebrate together", Twilight said hoping Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy would join but that hope was lost when they both said, "Sorry Twi. But I gotta go. apparently I gotta go and catch up with Spitfire", Rainbow Dash said as she zoomed off to catch up with the other Wonderbolts. "Oh sorry Twilight, but I have go to take the songbirds back home to the sanctuary. so maybe next time", Fluttershy said as she board's the train with her songbirds that had just arrived. "Bye then I guess", Twilight frowned. "Well I guess it's just us then", Applejack said. Twilight gave sigh of disappointment as she was looking forward on celebrating with all her friends to which they noticed. Umm, Twilight?", Apple Bloom said, "Are you ok?", Sweetie Belle added, "Cause you seem a bit disappointed." Scootaloo also added. "It's just that...I was really looking forward on finally spending time with all of my friends", Twilight said unhappy. "Aww cheer up darling, of course we still have each other right", Rarity said hoping to reassure Twilight.
"Hate to bein' the party pooper and all but where in equestria are we gonna celebrate", Applejack said curious. "OOOOO...is it gonna be at Canterlot?!...Sweet Apple Acres?!...or is it at SUGARCUBE CORNER?!", Pinkie Pie said excitedly. "Oh...just wait you'll see", Spike said smugly as the Train arrives with Twilight's dedicated car stopping at the exact spot from where she and her friends are standing. "Tada", Twilight said with a shy smile. Her friends, so impressed they were left but speechless. "I know it's a bit too much don't you think?", Twilight asked. "Are you kidding!, It's gorgeous!", Rarity answered as they all enter. "You said it Rarity", Applejack added. "Well since I can't exactly come with you to Ponyville to Celebrate, I figured why not just do it here. So are we gonna celebrate or what", Twilight said. "I dunno Does you're car come with a party button?", Pinkie Pie asked to which Spike smiled as he was conveniently standing right next to the button and pressed it as the train stated to move, the car was then filled with streamers, balloons, a disco ball and a table filled with the finest delicacies Canterlot has to offer. "LEEEEEET'S PARTY!!", Pinkie Pie said Cheerfully while firing her party cannon as a result everypony started to party and dance.
AFTER TWO HOURS OF PARTYING
After partying with her friends Twilight and Spike have finally arrive at the Canterlot Train Station her friends were there to see her off. "Darling are you sure you can't come with us to Ponyville?", Rarity Asked. "Yeah Twilight', Apple Bloom Added, "Pinkie Pie's gonna throw another party at Sugarcube Corner this evening", Sweetie Belle added, "And it's gonna be fun!", Scootaloo also added. "Although this time it's going to be with ALLL OF OUR FRIENDS!", Pinkie Pie said excitedly hoping Twilight and Spike would come until. "I would love to Pinkie, but I still got some unfinished business left with Fancy Pants plus I got dream duty this night", Twilight said. "How'bout you Spike?", Applejack asked. "Sorry girls,but I'll need to rest I got another friendship business to attend to for tomorrow ." Spike sadly refused also. "Oh okay then see ya next time", Pinkie Pie said cheerfully. "Bye guys", Spike and Twilight said as they both say their goodbyes to each other.
MEANWHILE AT THE CRYSTAL EMPIRE...
A mist with only a color of pure purple, entered the Crystal Empire. It then began to make it's way to the castle where the Crystal Heart is kept.
Anonymous Figure's P.O.V: As I continue my search for her. I shall bring about an eternal shroud of cold and darkness upon this place. Soon I will have her, soon I will be restored once again, soon...there will only be...MIDNIGHT.
It said as it struck the Crystal Heart with an unknown kind of magic. A guard then came in in order to make his rounds when he saw the Crystal Heart's light fading and that it's spinning more slow than usual, unaware of the mist that came in.
After the Equestria games at the Crystal Empire, Cadence is preparing Flurry Heart for the night. "Here you go Flurry", Cadence said as she gave Flurry her Whammy , to which Flurry gave a smile and a cooed happily to Cadence after. As she tucks in Flurry to her crib she immediately fell asleep soundly, Shining Armor then entered Flurry's room and asked Cadence softly. "Is she asleep?",  to which she replied "Uh-huh",as they both walk out of Flurry Heart's bedroom.
"Well that went well at least", Shining Armor said. "You know. You guys came awfully a lot close to postponing the games", Cadence said with humor. "Well I'd say we'd pretty much handled everything well Regardless after the whole Flurry incident", Shining Armor said remembering what happened from the last few hours as he and Cadence both laughed a little. "Hey Shining?". "Yes Cadence". "Is it just me or is it a bit colder here in the castle than usual?", Cadence said. "Yeah but...why?", Shining Armor said as he felt cold too. Just then a guard came dashing through the hallway "Your Majesties", he said followed by a bow. "What's going on, why is it suddenly so cold in here?", Cadence asked while shivering. "I regret to inform you that the Crystal Heart's power...is fading!", the guard said while panting."WHAT!", they both exclaimed.
"Quickly, Shining Armor you need to evacuate every pony to the train station and away from the Empire while I go take care of Flurry Heart and send out a letter to Twilight", Cadence said firmly. Shining Armor nodded in agreement with Cadence as he along with two guards went on. As Cadence sends out a letter to Twilight seeking her help she then saw menacing snow clouds through the window already making it's way to descend upon the Empire.
Meanwhile at Canterlot. Twilight is on night duty currently dream walking. Twilight then noticed as one by one the dreams of the Crystal Ponies started disappearing except for Flurry Heart.
Twilight's P.O.V: I was currently at the Dream Realm, protecting ponies from their very nightmares. As I walk by the dreams of the crystal ponies I then noticed something Strange. I watched as one by one the dreams of the crystal ponies started to disappear, all except for one, Flurry Heart. I then began to suspect that something was wrong as the citizens of the Crystal Empire started to waking up this early at midnight all but except Flurry. I should ask Cadence and Shining Armor just in case and see if they both know anything about this.
Just as soon as she leaves the dream realm, a letter came in from the Crystal Empire. it was from Princess Cadence and it says;
Dear Princess Twilight Sparkle
It is with great regret to inform you that the Crystal Heart's power is somehow fading away, we do not have yet the information on as to how it began but i fear that the Empire will soon be shrouded with eternal winter. I am so sorry to ask this of you but we need every pony's help in solving whatever's causing the Crystal Heart's power to fade. Please come as soon as possible.

After reading Cadence's letter, Twilight immediately raised the sun a little early than usual waking everypony including Spike in the process. Spike woke up rubbing his eyes, followed by a yawn and asked slightly annoyed, "Twilight!, why in equestria would you raise the sun up this early?!"."Its the Crystal Empire Spike, Something's wrong with the Crystal Heart. Cadence says that it's power is fading", Twilight said frantically while looking for answers. "Wait. I thought the Crystal Heart's power comes from the light and love given by the Crystal ponies. How could its power just fade away?", Spike asked confused. "I don't know Spike, but what I do know is that Cadence needs every pony's help. So Spike I need you to send out a letter to my friends including Starlight and Sunburst, tell them to meet me in the Canterlot Train Station", Twilight said firmly. As Spike was writing and sending out letters, Twilight went ahead to look for answers at the Canterlot Library. Her friends Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, Starlight, and Sunburst all received letters telling them to meet Twilight at the Canterlot Train Station to which they all nodded in agreement and packed up for their trip.
Meanwhile back at the Crystal Empire...
Shining Armor along with two crystal guards came in dashing through the hall way and into the castle's throne room where Cadence and flurry Heart are currently at. "We can't evacuate the crystal ponies, the train station is already covered along with the tracks with mountains of snow!". Shining Armor said while shivering. "Then we must get every pony inside the castle for the remaining time", Cadence said. Shining Armor nodded in agreement and went on again outside. "THIS WAY TO THE CASTLE!!", Shining Armor announced as he leads them towards the Castle. As every pony is entering the castle, Shining Armor stayed behind to make sure everyone has entered and safe. "Oh, Twily please hurry", Shining Armor said before he enters and lock's the castle doors.

When a powerful magical entity wanders in the lands of Equestria, Friendships and Harmony will yet to be tested once again.

After, our time in the "library" we decided to help the village finish up their last finishing touches before the sun finally sets.

"Hey, where have you guys been?" Jason asked, while we stacked firewood.

"We, uh we're in the library." I replied.

"In the library?"

"Yeah. Since we missed out on a lot of school, we found some books that we could study from." Theo said.

"Really? You guys don't seem like the type to study"

"How dare you assume!" Luna argued.

And they both went on arguing.

Twilight had called us for some kind of meeting. so we met her in the meeting room.

"Good evening, children." Twilight looked a bit exhausted and tired. probably from all the work she had done today and all the orders.

"Good evening, Twilight." I replied, "You wanted to see us?"

"Yes. Sit down."

I wonder what she needs to tell us.

"As you know, we are in the middle of a battle. As for that we still don't know what Alex is planning to do, since we haven't seen him for quite a while. I want you all to be aware of your surroundings. Alex could be hiding something or planning something we wouldn't expect."

"We will, Twilight." I promised.

"Good, you may go now." 

We got up and headed upstairs to our rooms.

"That was what the whole meeting was about?" Theo asked, annoyed.

"Well what were you expecting?" Lucas asked.

"Maybe like what we're having for breakfast tomorrow?"

"You've got to be kidding, right?" Luna asked.

"Maybe..." Theo spoke, sheepishly.

We all laughed at Theo about his hunger.

After, washing up and getting ready for bed, we planned to stay up and get to know each other more. I learned that Luna loves playing the guitar, Lucas is on their schools basketball team and in his words "very amazing at it," which made Theo and Luna laugh. And Theo is a person that loves to explore, even though he's scared of his surroundings most of the time.

As for me, I didn't really have much to say. I never really done anything throughout my life. I only went to the library when I wanted to get away from reality and climbed trees. Not so much interest there. 

Lucas, Theo and Luna kept going on about their memories at school and suddenly I feel left out. I've been alone for so long, I don't even have any memories that I enjoyed. Until I met Luna, Lucas and Theo. They gave me an opportunity to open up and make me feel that life is filled with struggles, but you are the who has to make your own path and find your way around those struggles. 

"Hey, Gabriella? Are you ok?" Luna asked as I drifted away from my thoughts. 

"Oh, yes I'm ok" I replied giving her a hopeful smile, "just lost in thoughts."

"Ok" she didn't look convinced, but she didn't pressure me either, which I was really thankful for cause I really didn't want to talk about that sort of things at a happy moment like this. 

We ended up staying up until midnight. I was surprised that Twilight didn't barge in through the door shouting at us to go to bed. 

We had said our goodnights, or mornings, I'm not sure which one is it.

Gabriela, a girl who lives by herself, discovers that she is more than just a nobody and has to fight Alex in order to restore what he has taken.

CHAPTER 14 

TEAM B (Agati Siblings)

"WELCOME to Seven's game! The first game is entitled, 'Odd One Out'. All members of the team must eliminate each number cards that aren't divisible by three and place them inside the waste bin. You have one hour. Enjoy!" 

After the automated voice spoke, none of the Agati siblings moved. 

"Ano daw?" Midnight asked, confused.
Slate shrugged. "I was too busy looking at the number cards on the floor that I didn't hear it." 

Twilight rolled her eyes. "Kailangan natin alisin ang mga number na hindi naman divisible by 3. If it's not divisble by 3, we need to place it on the waste bin." 

"How about those with radical signs?" Turo ni Rebel sa ilang number cards. 
"The we have to solve it and if the answer is divisible by 3, we leave it." Twilight answered. 

Midnight looked at Twilight proudly. "Our sister is growing up so well!" Aniya habang pinupunasan ang mga matang wala namang luha. 

Twilight just rolled her eyes at nagsimulang magtrabaho. She picked up the numbers she thinks that are not divisible by three. 

She picked the number 0203. Kunot ang noong tumingin siya sa mga kapatid. "Is this number divisible by 3?" Tanong niya. 

"Nope. The sum of each digit is equals to 5. 2 plus 3 is five and five is not divisible by 3 so... nope." Rebel answered. 

Manghang napatingin si Twilight sa kapatid. "Where did you learn that?" 

Rebel frowned. "I have always been good at math. Sa ating magkakapatid, ako ang pinakamagaling sa math." Depensa niya. 

"Oh. I always thought you're an airhead who only knows how to fight." Twilight teased. 

Rebel just frowned and continued placing numbers on the waste bin. 

"How about 0534?" Midnight asked. 
"Just add all the digits. Five plus three is eight plus four is twelve so that is divisible by three." Sagot ni Rebel. 

They continued placing down numbers that are divisible by three and puting the ones that aren't on the the waste bin. 

Makalipas ang isang oras, the door opened meaning, they finished their task correctly. Twilight smiled as she stretched her arms. "Ang dali naman pala nito. Kamusta na kaya ang team Chaos?" 

"They moght be having a hard time by now with challenging questions and stuff." Midnight laughed. 

"Yeah. Swerte natin. Mga bobo pa naman tayong lahat. We can't handle hard questions." Ani naman ni Slate. 

Nang makapasok sa sunod na kwarto, they all stilled when they saw several animals placed on the box. On the first box are snakes. Seconds box are worms and third box are frogs. 

Pasimpleng humakbang palayo si Twilight. "Kaya niyo naman siguro yan diba? I mean, mga lalake kayo." She was grimacing as she stares at the animals on each clear box. 

An automated voice spoke, "welcome to Seven's second game: Balance It Out! In this game, each will take turns in trnasferring each animal to another clear box to maintain it's desired weight. Remember, you nay transfer one kind of animal only. Enjoy!" 

"So kailangan natin magtanggal para pumantay ang bigat ng isang clear box?" Paninigurado ni Twilight. 
Rebel spoke, "I suggest we remove from the snakes. It weighs heavy oero kaunti lang ang tatanggalin natin. Mas mabilis at madali." 
Tumango si Midnight. "So, sino mauuna?" 

"Ikaw." They all said in unison. 

"Each boxes should weight 30 pounds. The snakes weigh 50 pounds. How many should I remove?" Midnight asked. 

"Magtanggal ka muna ng isa, kuya." Utos ni Twilight.

Midnight was wincing. "It might bite me." 

"Just carry it!" Twilight snapped. 
Mabilis na kinuha ni Midnight ang ahas at nilagay sa kabilang box. "Ah!" He let out a small scream. 

Slate and Rebel laughed. "Why did you laugh? What are you, gay?" They teased. 

Midnight looked mad. "Kayo kaya ang nandito sa pwesto ko?" 

"Remove more, kuya. The weight didn't made any difference. 50 pounds pa rin." Ani Twilight. 

Midnight breathed heavily and once again carried a snake to the other box. He whimped and winced. 

"It's already 40 pounds. Remove naybe two more." Utos ni Twilight. 

Nakapameywang na hunaral si Midnight sa kapatid. "Kung makautos ka, ikaw kaya ang gumawa nito?" 

"Ang arte mo, kuya! Bilisan mo na." 

Lumapit si Midnight sa kapatid. "You do it. It's scaring me. Ayokong mawalan ng dignidad bilang isang lalake." 

Twilight scoffed. "I can't believe you are men." Sambit niya at lumapit sa box ng ahas. 

Twilight gulped. Ang totoo niyan, takot si Twilight sa ahas. 

Impit na napasigaw si Twilight nang mahawakan niya ang ahas at mabilis na nilagay sa kabilang kahon. 

"Your face is so funny, Twilight." Slate was laughing as he speak. 

"Kayo kaya ang gumawa!" She exclaimed. 
Napailing-iling si Slate. "You work faster than us. You do it." 

Twilight just groaned and continued to work. One more and they're done.

"I think I'm gonna puke." Twilight grunted when she smelled her hands. 

Mabilis niyang binuhat ang isang ahas mula sa ulo at sa katawan at ilagay sa kabilang box. The weight of the box now changed to 30 pounds. 

Pumapalakpak ang mga kupal niyang kapatid. "Good job, little sis! You did well." Rebel complimented. 

Twilight wiped her smelly hands on her brothers' shirts. "Hey!" Reklamo ng mga ito. 

Awtomatikong nagbukas ang pinto at lumabas na ang Agati Siblings. 

When they entered the third room, may isang treadmill ang nasa gitna at ilang tali na may susi! 

The automated voice once again spoke, "welcome to Seven's third game: Keep it Steady! One member must run on the treadmill so the strings will move to let the key move further down. You have thirty minutes to open the door. Enjoy!" 

Humarap si Twilight sa tatlong kapatid. "Kayong tatlo na ang gumawa niyan. You three have good stamina. Siguradong wala lang 'to sa inyo." She crossed her arms. 

Midnight faced his other brothers. "Ten minutes for each of us." Anito. 

Tumango naman ang dalawa at nauna si Midnight sa pagtakbo. When he started running, the string moved downwards, allowing the key  to also move near the door. 

But Midnight's pace is too slow that the key is not moving at all. 

"Run faster, kuya. Hanggang diyan lang ba kaya mo?" Pamemressure ni Twilight sa kapatid. 

Midnight ran faster. He ran as fast as he could but the string was still moving so slow. After a few minutes, Midnight stopped. 

"I-I give up." He's catching his breath as he speak. 

Tumingin si Twilight sa relo. "You were runnning for two minutes." Puna niya at humarap kay Slate at Rebel. 

"Your turn. Bilisan niyo ang pagtakbo. The key is not moving at all." 

Slate went in first at nagsimulang tumakbo. He started running so fast that the key is slightly moving. "Faster." Utos ni Twilight. 

"I can't...keep up.." Slate uttered. 

"You have nine minutes left." Twilight declared. 

After a few minutes, Slate stopped. All in all, the two of Twilight's brothers only finished three minutes of running but the key didn't move at all. 

Humarap si Twilight sa kapatid na si Rebel. "Your turn. I'm putting all my trust to you. You need to finish 27 minutes of running." 

Rebel winced. "That's too much." 
Twilight patted Rebel's back. "You can do it." 

Huminga nang malalim si Rebel bago nagsimulang tumakbo muli sa treadmill. He was running so fast the the key is near to her reach. Aabutin sana ni Twilight iyon nang tumigil si Rebel sanhi ng pagtigil ng susi sa paggalaw. 

"Why did you stop?" Tanong niya.
Umiling si Rebel. "I can't take this anymore. I...I want to rest." Himihingal na sambit nito. 

Twilight just groaned. Mukhang siya na naman ang gagawa ng trabaho na para sana sa kapatid niya. 

Tinanggal niya ang coat niya at nilapag ang tablet sa sahig at nagkusang tumakbo sa treadmill. Her pace was normal. Paminsan m-minsan ay bumibilis. Minsan ay bumabagal but she managed to rum for more than 20 minutes.

"T-The key...." 

"Kunin mo ang susi, kuya!" Utos ni Twilight kay Slate na hinihingal pa rin. 

Slate took the key at binuksan ang pinto. Saka lang tumigil si Twilight at hinihingal na naglakad papunta sa isang malaking warehouse at umupo dahil sa sobrang pagod. 

Mukhang wala pa ang team Chaos. Mas nauna sila. Lahat sila ay napaupo sa sahig at hinahanol ang hininga nang bumukas ang pinto at pumasok ang team A. 

Lumapit si Twilight kay Effie at nangumusta. 

Then, the lights turned out and the whole warehouse was filled with the loud gunshot. 

Ang huling naramdaman ni Twilight ay may isang humawak sa balikat niya at hinila siya palayo sa kapatid niya.

"See she perfectly fine now let go" As I landed on my feet besides Scarlett "No way a Moonshine!" Bandit 2 got out his machete "Hey what about me!" I wave my arms.

I was wearing a black elissa and the swans Lolita dress, high heel boots, my hair was braids in two on my shoulders hold tightly with two white ribbons, and my horns was cony hair tassels. "What with the girl dragon in pigtail?" Bandit 1 put his sword "I must save them" James jumped in the air did a back flip and landed in front of Scarlett and Twilight wearing a brown swordman outfit with boots, his curly red emo bang hair, brown eyes, and a little fang sticking out his mouth "Don't mess with the girl" James stood up Scarlett did sign language "No you wouldn't have deal with it on your own" I said turning to her. "Enough attack!" Bandits ran up to them with war scream Scarlett, Twilight, and James jumped in the air "Pause!" Twilight smiled Everyone was frozen in place "So your wondering why are we on this mission will...." Twilight smiled.

The ground shake with every step the bandit boss walk up to us "Good evening little girls and boy" Boss said "Yes sorry to bother you but we're looking for this key" James pull up a picture of the skeleton key.

"Yes of course for 2 Drago (200$) for the information and 1 Swordie (20$)  for fee" Boss smirked "How about no Drago and zero Swordie and you get a Scarlett" Twilight smiled and tilt her head "That Moonshine even better" Boss walk over to Scarlett "Yes she a beauty, I love blue eyes over the green ones" Boss smirked "Yes but I prefer the spin kick" I smiled "A spin what?" A chibi Comet walk in with a chalkboard and a stick, Slave wolves own by the Claws family that where me and Scarlett grew up but from different rank, there four ranks of slave wolves.

The fourth rank Snowyling brow hair, black or dark grey eyes there breeder. The third rank Bluebell grey hair, purple or yellow eyes there either soldiers or servant for clans family. Now the second rank Hollownight dark curly hair, red or orange eyes, there either ninja or assassin but it mostly the female Hollownight that are assassin. And now the first rank Moonshine, white hair, blue or green eyes, they are bodyguard for the clans family.

"Whoa that really something" I tilt my head "Yeah there used to be a firth rank called the Deathmoon but they went extinct a long time along they were more deadly then Moonshine we know today" Comet said "So your Comet Hollownight?" James asked "Yes we can choose are name when we get a little older that goes for the Bluebell and Snowyling but when it comes to the Moonshine there owner pick there names that a high honor it proves that there names is powerful like Scarlett true her name mean red but it almost mean deadly like a rose" Comet smile, she deadly alright. "Good cause we're looking for this skeleton key" I hold the picture up "Nope never seen or heard of that key before" Comet shake his head

"So I'm guessing your not the Hollownight we're looking for" I sighed "No sorry but there a Hollownight that meant be able to help" He smiled happily as we kept walking we stopped at a bar "What is this?" "We're in" James said "Yes James thank you for the spy work now Scarlett start searching for information James stay close to Comet" I inform him "Got it" James smiled. Feather walk around the bar singing Scarlett look closer at her arm, "What is it Moonshine?" Comet look at her as Feather look at us and walk away slowly Scarlett did sign language.

"We're in" Twilight smiled after everything was settled down Scarlett knock on the door where Feather stay. "Get in quickly!" Feather push us in "Why that hurt?" James rub his back. "Now hush you human I can tell just by looking at your Moonshine you need information Twilight" Feather sat down "How did you know my name?" I sat down on the couch. "News travel fast in Treasure Fang of course I heard it from a few Hollownight and Bluebell" Feather got up "Yeah those three are traveling looking for this key" Comet show her the picture "Oh the Skeleton key Queen Meteor's bones 30,000 years ago" Feather said "You know of this key?" Shadow walk in "No not yet I will wait for them in Quetzalcoatl I love there military base so easy to kill them Paradox" Darkness stood up "Yes my Lord?" Paradox put his head down "Pack some bags we're going on a road trip" Darkness smiled "Oh sound fun" Constance walk in from the window "Oh my dear sister thanks for visiting" Darkness had his hands behind his back "Nope not visiting just in joining the show of course keep that puppy on a leash" Constance smiled Paradox scoffed "Oh that mean Paradox is a different kind of wolf" Darkness wrap his arms around Paradox chest "I will bite your face off" Paradox growled "So deadly" Darkness smiled.

"It doesn't matter my chess pieces will win now that they have white bishop and another white rook on there side" Constance smiled "We will see about that dear sister" Darkness and Constance eyes glow bright yellow "We will see my dear sweet brother all they need now is a white king" Constance smiled.


One day I noticed Vanyel and 'Lendel acting strangely. They seem a whole lot closer than before. So when Van and I were sitting in the garden I asked, "Van... There's something going on between you and 'Lendel isn't there?" He looks towards me startled. "As I thought. You're Shay'a'chern aren't you?"
"H-How'd you know?"
"Heh. I know you better than you'd think Van."
"You didn't-"
"No! Why would I do something like that without permission? It's unthinkable for me! Just- I've noticed some overflowing emotions from you when you're around him."
"Oh." He says and I smile. 
"Have you learned any new songs?"
"Yes." He grins and gets up to get his lute. 
"Wake up to the sound of moonlight, falling soft upon the early morn,
Hear the distant crack of thunder 'cross the canyon 'neath the crimson dawn.
Feel the coolness turn to warming, touch the mystery of the morning,
Smell the fragrance of another new days' birth.

Everyone who seeks a new life, free of the chains that tie one down,
Stepping out into the new light, clean as the day when you were born.

"You're getting really good Van!"
"Thanks." He's learned how to take my compliments over time. "Have you?"
"Yes actually." I laugh and grab my own lute.
"A lovely young man comes prancing and dancing.
A lovely young man with a voice like the sun.
A test I shall give, is his heart pure or blackened?
Then shall we see if he is a worthy one.
Will he rise to the challenge or be undone?

Young man can you help a wizened old woman?
A crust of bread is all that I need.
Young man can you show this old one some kindness?
Open your heart, do a good deed.

This lovely young man has no compassion,
He thinks of himself and no one but he.
This lovely young man needs some instruction,
Needs to be humbled  before he can see.

He thinks it a joke, his banter is cruel.

"You're so good! I'm jealous!" 
Tylendel, having heard my chat with Vanyel decided to fluster him. "Are you trying to steal my man Spark? I hope you know he won't return your affections." I see Vanyel turn bright red.
"Not at all. You're my type you charmer. But alas! You won't return any of my love!" I giggle.
"I'm afraid I cannot fair lady. My heart is lost to the boy in front of you." He chuckles. This is a little game we like to play occasionally. It keeps boredom away.
"Would you accept the gift of a song my love?" I giggle at the last part.
"Of course." He gracefully sit down by Vanyel. I share a look with Vanyel and he nods standing up.
"What has touched me reaching deep?
Piercing my ensorcelled sleep
Darkling lady do you weep?
What is the cause of your grieving

Why do tears of balm and bane
Bathe my heart in bitter rain
What is this longing? Why this pain?
What is this spell you are weaving"
Vanyel sings the next part. This is a duet so we switch off until the final part where we sing together.
"Sunlight singer, morning's peer
How I long for what I fear
Not by my will are you here
How I wish I could free you

Gladly in your arms I'd lie
But I dare not come you nigh
For if you touch me I shall die
If I were wise I would flee you"
"Shadow dancer, dark and fell
Lady that I love too well

"In your eyes your soul lies bare

We ended the song with a smile. "Good job you two! You are great at doing duets!"
"Why thank you kind sir." I say with a bow. "Us musicians live to please our audiences."
"What are you two doing? Spark, you aren't really in love with 'Lendel right?"
"Of course not. 'Tis all a game. And a fun one at that."
"I couldn't have said it better myself Ashke. This is a game the two of us play like the ones the Court play."
"Well that makes me happier."
"Besides it's not all that fun with only two people anymore. How about you join us?" I grin.
"In this silly little game of yours?"
"Mhm!" I nod.
"Well sure I guess."
"Oh and you'll have to target Spark for your 'affections.'"
"What? Why?"
"Because it won't just be a game if the two of you start flirting with each other."
"Oh."
"But, this means I have two targets!" I giggle.
"I suppose it does m'lady."

That afternoon, I was called up to Midnight's office once more, mere minutes after exiting the final class of the day. Stretching, I began to make my way up, relieved that my soreness had largely been cured over many painful hours.
    When I arrived, Midnight gave a knowing and friendly look as I slowly began to seat myself. The moment I did so, he began talking. He first confirmed that yes, he could not understand the language that I was speaking in. "I couldn't use any magic," he continued, a frown beginning to emerge. "No matter how hard I tried, I failed to cast any sort of spell. It was almost like everything just got gobbled up for some strange reason."
    I sighed. "At least we can at least talk using our bodies." I knew that this form of communication had some flaws, notably the strong possibility that one might misinterpret the message. "And we can talk afterwards like we are doing now."
    My principal nodded. "Yes." He blinked, shifting the subject. "So did you see or sense anything interesting?" Although he didn't explicitly point it out, he shifted some emphasis on the palace we encountered just before the two of us woke.
    Rifling through my memories, I recalled the most important tidbits of information that I retained during our trip. "Well, there was this aura that I sensed while we were walking," I started. "I tried to tell you about it, but you didn't understand me."
    "Oh, yes," Midnight realized. "I'm sorry to cut you off like that." He slowly shook his head. "...And I didn't sense a thing. That may have been the thing eating all of my spells."
    "I also saw someone in all of the stained glass windows," I pointed out.
    It seemed as if Midnight hadn't heard this bit of information. He grumbled something under his breath that I could almost decipher. Without warning, he stood. "Alright, I suppose we can separate for now." Midnight leaned against his chair and froze, though. "Did you see anything else?"
    I thought for a moment but quickly said afterward that there was nothing of great importance. I then stood, causing us to say our goodbyes to each other before heading our separate ways. Before I could leave the office, however, Midnight stopped me once again. "Oh, I want to give you something," his voice chimed behind me.
    "What is it?"
    "Some pills infused with a spell," my principal explained. "They should eliminate most of the pain that you most likely felt after running for so long. I just regret giving them to you sooner." Midnight lowered his head. "After all, this was one out of few days that I skipped meeting with you."
    Thinking back, I realized that no, Midnight didn't show up in the corner when I was heading to the first class of the day. I'd thought that something was wrong, but due to my excessive fatigue I couldn't figure out why. Saying a quick goodbye to Midnight once again, I opened the office door and stepped outside. It was then that I realized my formerly free hand was now clasping something. Peering downward, it was a bottle filled with glowing golden pills, their light shimmering as I shook the container. I looked back up and started descending the stairs once again.
    
    I was on the field as the sun began to set, sitting up on the finely controlled grass blades. I watched the sun fall over the horizon, spent after practicing my magic. I figured that if I could control my magic from within my dream, a highly unlikely possibility, then it'd both benefit Midnight and I throughout our nightly quest to the labyrinth. I continued to sit, electing to practice my less physical spells.
    With one spell in particular, I started to close my eyes, opening what Mr. Grey called my "mind's eye". With this, although it was fairly weak from my lack of magical experience, I could only roughly see where other people were not based on light entering my physical eyes but reaching out for my schoolmates' individual magical essences. Looking at them closely, the shape that they took on was akin to a swirling vortex, with the essences of smaller creatures rotating much more quickly than larger students. I inferred that this was to compensate for their less massive bodies.
    "Urgh..." I involuntarily grunted, opening my eyes once again and holding my head on the palms of my hands. I shook my head. That particular "spell", although Mr. Grey refused to refer to it as one but rather an ability, would frequently result in headaches if I utilized it for an extended period of time.
    I stood. The last parts of the sun disappeared as the world entered twilight. For a moment, I stared out into the hugely expansive and flat field. After getting my bearings, I decided to head back into the school and start retreating into my room, beginning to prepare myself for the night. With a jolt, I realized that I would be plunged into the labyrinth once more. Stepping through the massive double doors permitting access to the rest of the school, waves of both fear and excitement shook through my body.
    
    To my dismay, I couldn't fall asleep that night. Whenever I would finally slip into unconsciousness, I would feel as if I were being booted back into my body, resulting in a jarring snap back to reality. After quite a few attempts at falling asleep naturally, I finally decided to do something about it. At this point, the moon was illuminating my room with slender fingers of light. 
    Yawning once again, I grudgingly arose and shuffled across my room and into the kitchen. It was then that I selected a small cupboard out of many, something that I felt was unecessary. Nevertheless, I began to sift through some bottles of medication; my parents hadn't given me much, just some capsules that relieved some common symptoms due to viral infections and a few others. Among these were sleep aid pills. I quickly grabbed this one particular packet that'd already been half-used, at the same time preparing a cup of water. In one swift gulp, I downed the tablet, also relieved that the glass had cured my somewhat dry mouth.
    I proceeded to stand still for a few seconds, already feeling a tad sleepy. A minute or two of silence then elapsed before I finally decided to try falling asleep once more. However, I suddenly jumped backward and instinctively began to prepare a fireball, something that I'd been working on mere hours prior. I gritted my teeth, however, as I realized that Midnight had barged into my room.
    Before the principal could speak, I started interrogating him from a spike of anger. "Why are you here?" Even though most of it had disappeared, I still manifested a pea-sized fireball inside of my clenched fist. "Isn't it against the rules to enter others rooms without permission?"
    Midnight now bore a frown. "I'm deeply sorry for that, and I hope that you can forgive me, Feste." He quickly diverted the topic. "You didn't fall asleep even once tonight."
    Still a bit hostile, I confirmed this and Midnight spoke once more. "...Could I cast a certain spell that would make you fall asleep faster?"
    "Sure," I accepted. However, I thought my decision over. I recalled the several attempts that I made to enter the labyrinth. "Well, I've tried to do so before. In fact, I actually felt myself entering the labyrinth only to be cut off from doing so a fraction of a second afterward."
