Amber watched way too much TV. Nathan didn't need a costume because he was NOT a superhero. He helped people because he had to but they were small, simple acts 99% of the time. 
He wasn't strong enough or fast enough to do anything crazy. The Ferris wheel thing had bene a fluke. He was more like a Good Samaritan than a superhero! Honestly, he couldn't believe how much this had blown up in his face. 
He let out a heavy sigh and placed his hands on his sister's shoulders. "Amber. I am not going to become a superhero. I'm a novelist, okay? That's all."

He didn't get to pick and choose what he saw! It was completely random. There was never any guarantee of when a vision might or might not come to him. 
"I can't control what I see," he reminded her. "I'm not going to do anything more than I'm already doing and that's final. Do you want to play Super Mario Brothers or should I go home?"
Amber grumbled but ultimately decided to play the video game because that was the whole reason he was here. She wasn't happy about it though. At all. She made no secret of it either.

"Be nice," Lisa scolded. "We don't call people names Amber Elizabeth."
Amber retaliated by sticking her tongue out and Nathan sighed. She clearly wasn't going to be letting this go any time soon. He wasn't a superhero though; she would have to get over it at some point. 
He might have powers and an inability to ignore someone that needed help but that didn't make him a superhero. If he had superstrength or was bulletproof or could fly it might be different but he was as mortal as everyone else. All he could do was see short snippets of the future. 
The Ferris wheel incident had been a fluke. He had never seen anything that big before. Maybe it was because he only saw things he was personally capable of preventing. After all, he had witnessed a few car accidents without his power coming into play. He was too far away to make a difference, which was probably why.

            "Friend?" Crimson Arrow eyed Drew, and the odd light in his eyes made the latter shiver. "Now that I think about it, Ruth was the one who visited you after you fainted from running too much. But that was your first day here, your first lesson. How did you even manage to make a friend?"
            "Umm…luck?" Drew rubbed his nose. That look Crimson Arrow had on his face reminded him of his old teacher whenever the topic of romance was brought up. "I met her on the morning of my first day here, when I was staring at an odd tower."
            "Right, the tower." Ruth rubbed her hands. "Sir, what's with that tower? Is it true that it belongs to a newly-inducted honorary S-class? What's that tower for?"

            "Alright, how did random commuters learn about that one?" Crimson Arrow shook his head. "Did someone publicise it or something? That tower's in the middle of the Superhero Administrative Zone, so by right, news about all that shouldn't have spread."
            A little pixie popped up in front of Crimson Arrow. With a cutesy voice, she said, "Someone leaked the news on the Superhero Speaking Service."
            "Someone leaked it on the SSS? Didn't the board moderators take it down?" Crimson Arrow shook his head. "What are the moderators doing…oh. Wait. No way. No freaking way. Was Cybercrown the leaker?"
            "Yes, sir."

            "Your wish, my command!" The pixie twirled on the spot and vanished.
            "Well, at least you kids will get something before those chumps do," Crimson Arrow muttered.
            "Sir, who's Cybercrown?"

            "Cybercrown is the world's second strongest superhero," Drew answered on instinct. Before he could continue, however, a conscious part of his mind told him that he had cut off his teacher's words, and Drew began to curse his reflexes for being too proactive. "S-sorry, sir."

            "Wow! That sounds incredible!"
            "That's not all," Drew replied. "He also runs a company that's very famous throughout the world."
            "A company? What's so special about that?" Ruth asked.
            "He runs the company alone. And this company is…Flash Inc, the creator of the Flashpad, Flashweb and virtually all Flash devices and technologies," Drew required.             "Yes, sir."

            Cold air blew down his neck as Drew followed the superhero through a door, into what looked like a gym. Things like weights and treadmills filled the area, save for a nice big space in the middle of the room. Without a word, Crimson Arrow headed to the middle of the room and cleared his throat. 
            "This is my private gym, just in case you're wondering. For students, there's a communal gym at Island Three with dedicated staff onsite, so don't go asking me if you can use my gym, got it?" Crimson Arrow asked.
            "No, I wasn't intending to, sir."
            "Oh. Disappointing…ahem. Anyway. Superpowers. What do you know about them?" Crimson Arrow asked. 
            "Superpowers are manifestations of power from Super Genes," Drew replied. 
            "That's the textbook reply. But if you ask any of us superheroes, we'll tell you that superpowers are a mystery, even until now." Crimson Arrow shook his head. "We don't understand how superpowers work. We know how to use them. We know how to train them, but we don't know how to awaken them."
            He spread his hands. "Funny, isn't it? The most important bulwark against the spectres, and we can't even figure out the basics. Superpowers defy the laws of physics as we know it. They create phenomena that shouldn't be possible. We know that their backbone lies in Super Genes, but after centuries of study, we've only figured out that Super Genes are actually in everyone. Not really useful, since we don't know how to awaken them."
            Drew blinked. He remembered reading on the Flashweb about theories that the Central Laia Administration had learned how to awaken superpowers, but if Crimson Arrow, an S-class superhero, said otherwise…
            "In that case, sir," said Drew, "what will I be learning for today? Are you just going to teach me how to use my superpower and how to train it?"
            "Indeed." Crimson Arrow paused. "You sound disappointed. You wanted to learn the theory bits of it?"
            "Yes…"
            "Don't waste your time on that," Crimson Arrow replied. "Generations of brilliant minds have tried to figure out the secrets of superpowers, but…"
            "They wasted years of their time with nothing to show for it?" Drew asked.
            "Mildly speaking, yes." Crimson Arrow sighed. "I've had the same exact conversation with Ruth, in case you were wondering. And my answer's still the same."
            "I also asked the same thing, yes." Ruth rubbed her nose. "And everyone asks the same thing too…"
            "That's why you're all my students. Alright. I'll start by teaching you how to use your superpower.  The main thing about superpowers is how they respond to one's will. Of course, there are also prevailing conditions required, so make sure you meet those conditions first, before you waste fifteen minutes on doing absolutely nothing."
            "Ania, display his file."
            "Done!"
            A piece of paper, which looked like the real deal, appeared in front of Drew.
