The two Pandawans tried to hide in the crowd, but no matter where they went, Bin Yong kept on having this irrational fear lingering on him that someone was watching them. It felt like they were looking over their every move and only waiting for the right moment to strike.
 
Perhaps it was just the pouring rain and constant thundering of the clouds that made Bin Yong feel so insecure since they were the only guys without an umbrella among the crowd? In a way, that made them stand out amongst the soulless crowd who continued with their daily lives.  

Despite the fact they looked indifferent, the crowd's attention would occasionally shift their focus on the Pandawans briefly before they returned to their meaninglessly daily routine. That alone reinforced that anxiety Bin Yong was sensing. Meanwhile, Shi Zuo was looking for directions to reach 34th Street. Fortunately, simplified maps were placed at the bus station near them.
 
"If I am not wrong, the last street sign I saw should mean we are somewhere here, near 42nd Street. The Grand Central terminal station should be there and just a few blocks ahead." Shi Zuo figured that if they could find a subway station, they could use it to travel to Penn Station. After all, Boss Jin made the dungeon instance in a modern setting, so there should be some trains prepared in a modern day replicated version of New York City… right? 
 
"Good, the longer we are out in the open, the more we risk getting caught, again. I do not see any agents around, but who knows with Boss Jin. Maybe he made the first ones into plain obvious agents, just so that he could trick us. For all we know, one of these people could turn any minute now." Bin Yong said while looking around nervously. His behaviour started to be anything but natural. Several bystanders slowed their pace as they stared disapprovingly at him.
 
"Dude, you are doing it again. Why are you getting so worked up ever since the beginning of the dungeon? This is not like you at all." Shi Zuo pulled his friend towards him and took big steps to distance themselves from the crowd while whispering to his friend.
 
"Have you not read about the Deep Ones before?" Bin Yong asked, and Shi Zuo shook his head sluggishly under the pouring rain.
 
"I only briefly read a summary about them on the net. They are just minion monsters in some cosmic horror genre. So, what about them? We already killed a few of them, and we can always kill some more. Have a little bit of faith in your abilities." Shi Zuo tried to encourage his friend in a relaxed way as he plotted out the road in his mind to reach the Grand Central Terminal. Bin Yong sighed after he realised why Shi Zuo was taking this so calm. It made sense for him being a tech guy who loved action and spies not to be well versed in the lore of the Lovecraftian stories.
 
However, Bin Yong had adored those stories in his youth, which he still loved to read during his pastime. As an aspiring animator back then, they inspired a dark period of his drawings phase and allowed Bin Yong to grow out of his slump to the point he was nearly fanatical about it. Yet, it was a phase of learning and growing, which eventually lead him to his desired graphical art direction. He did use some for his portfolio, and the interviewers were impressed by the various art style he could develop.

To his knowledge, no one had ever come close to create the image of the perfect Deep Ones. Sure, there were vague descriptions of such monsters in the Lovecraftian books, and he had seen at a lot of attempts trying to give them form, but it was not until recently when he had killed them during their transformation that he experienced this indescribable anxious feeling his heart was secretly harbouring.
 
It was also apparent that it was not even their final form yet but those eyes which Bin Yong had stared into summoned an indisputable pull of trepidation stirring within him. If he could choose sides, he would instead prefer being on their good graces than against them. The fate of those going against the dark powers rarely if ever ended up positively.
 
"So, you are aware of the greatness of Lord Dagen…" A whisper caressed Bin Yong's ears as he was watching out for Shi Zuo, who did not appear to have heard the voice.
 
"Lord…Dagen?" Bin Yong was a little confused when he heard that particular name, especially since it came out of nowhere all of a sudden. He did some research as a refresher before coming to Jin's dungeon and even read some of the articles about the Deep Ones that the cultivators encountered in the Pandamonium forum pages. But none of it rang a bell, as he only knew of the name Dagon instead of Dagen. Then again, perhaps Boss Jin purposely renamed it to possibly throw the cultivators off track.
 
"So, you are aware of the greatness of Lord Dagen?" The whisper got a little louder and Bin Yong looked towards Shi Zuo to look out for any change of expression and actions upon hearing that whisper again.
 
"You are chosen. Not him. Come to 34th Street, Exit B of Penn Station to learn the real truth." The familiar whisper continued to creep around his brain non stop, and it lingered for a little longer before he managed to get a grip on himself.
 
"Lord Dagon…Lord Dagen…" Bin Yong was lost in his thought as he repeated the name a few times. Dagon was a long standing word associated with fish in Canaanite language, leading to the interpretation as a Fish God. However, modern records indicated that word to have been used for grain. Thus, Lovecraft could have used the mistaken myth of the fish god as the object of worship for the Deep Ones in his story. Yet, there were arguments stating Dagon was just an analogy in his novel, for the Deep Ones truly worshipped the Great Old One, Cthulhu.
 
"Hello?… Snap out of your daze. We need to move quickly before some of your feared Deep Ones really do catch up." Shi Zuo snapped his fingers a few times in front of Bin Yong and at the third snap, Bin Yong awoke from his train of thoughts.
 
"Roughly three blocks down and then a left, afterwards we should be able to get a glimpse of New York City's crown jewel landmark." Shi Zuo informed him as he quietly 'borrowed' two umbrellas that were conveniently left near a stand beside a general convenience store, hoping to truly blend within the crowd.
 
In less than a few minutes, the duo reached the Grand Central Terminal. Only there was no one else going towards the station at all. It was quite a contrast, the inside of the terminal station being completely empty compared to the busy, bustling crowd walking in the rain.
 
"Not good, this is definitely a trap. We shoul-" Suddenly the large doors behind them closed shut without any warning. The two tried to open it almost immediately, but it was not budging a single bit. Shi Zuo quickly took his hatchet out and tried to hack at the door knobs to open it. But no matter how much strength he put into it, the door frame around the knob was too thick to pierce through. It was to the point that the handle for the hatchet broke with Shi Zuo's eighth attempt, and the hatchet blade remained lodged on the door itself.
 
"I think you should stop trying. We have company." Bin Yong warned him as there were a more than just a couple of Black Suits staring at them from the second floor of the grand central terminal. Intensifying the moment, the Pandawans heard thunder flashing from outside as the two Pandawans helplessly watched the scene of the black suits fully transforming themselves to the rumoured Deep Ones.
 
What they did not know was that this was not the real Grand Central Terminal. None of them had ever gone to New York before so they were unaware that the real Grand Central Terminal did not have a pure all wooden front door. (They were mainly vintage doors with 3x3 glass panels.) 
 
Jin did not make this dungeon instance as straightforward as the previous dungeons. He wanted his customers to actively look for clues rather than simply rushing in blindly against the monsters. Sure, they could do that, but that would mostly ensure that they would have an unnecessarily harder time trying to complete his dungeons (if they survived). 

Jin wanted to make sure that everyone had a fulfilling experience and hoped to do more of this in the future rather than giving the cultivators just some monsters to fight. If someone's sole desire was to contend and test their cultivation, they could have gone for the random monster arena instances he set up previously.

The 'correct' approach, at least the way he designed it, would have been to start by collecting some information on their situation. Jin did not expect his customers to have some prior knowledge to be able to complete an instance, so anyone could learn what was necessary by exploring more of the city of this particular dungeon instance such as the general stores or even the abandoned building that they were teleported to at the start of the dungeon instance.  (Granted that the location of the abandoned building slightly differed with every new instance to provide a fresh new perspective to the dungeon instance.)

There would be magazines around the stands to show the picture of the real Grand Central Terminal. Also, there was a torn page with regards to that in the abandoned building that they were searching around for enemies previously. Unfortunately, they had not paid too much attention to it.

Should they have realised that it was the fake station and walked further down instead of entering, the real station would have been just a corner turn away with no Deep Ones lurking in there awaiting them. They would have been able to take the ride to Penn Station and find Captain Hei to proceed with the instance.
 
The tens of fish eyes were stalking their new prey, but they were unlike the Deep Ones Jin used to have. The cultivators who had caught glimpses of the Deep Ones previously in the Goblin Western Diversion would be equally shocked. These slicker and stronger Deep Ones still possessed webbed hands, feet and fish heads but now they featured a spiked spine instead of a large fin behind their back coupled with a deadly killer tail.
 
Jin had used the upgrade cards from his complimentary reward by the System upon reaching Grade 8 to 'mutate' the fellow Deep Ones to gain this new look. Initially, they had looked intimidating in the sea but flabby on land with all the gills and fish scales. But since Jin wanted to do an infested city scenario, he had made sure that the newly mutated Deep Ones not only looked equally scary on both terrains but were also decently agile on land too.
 
Instead of transforming all of them to fit this instance, he only made 50 go through that mutation to test them out since he did not have the time let them experiment on any monsters. (Perhaps, he should create an in-house arena to let the monsters duel with each other.)  In the meantime, with the help of Shadow Dagen's magical powers as well as the System's, Jin enabled a few of the Deep Ones to wield some wicked, unholy oceanic magic. Therefore, the rain and thunder were not something he had designed but came as a result of the work of the Deep Ones' magical rituals. (This in turn, saved some money recreating the background from Jin's point of view.)
 
A Deep One undoubtedly leapt to the centre of the Grand Central Terminal main concourse, at the top of the iconic clock. If the cultivators were aware that that brass clock was valued at 20 million USD in real life, they might suffer a heartache seeing the claws of the Deep One latching itself into the opal glass.
 
"Sacrificesssssssssss!!!" The Deep One on the clock roared as it wielded a long, broken and rotten wooden staff (with some seaweed hanging onto it) and pointed to the sky. The clouds grew even gloomier from what the duo was seeing and suddenly, the glass attached to the ceilings broke and out gushed three magical waterfalls flooding the concourse with water.
 
The water that was pouring in quickly reaching knee deep and hindered the movements of Shi Zuo and Bin Yong who began to run the moment they saw a few Deep Ones jumping down from the second floor to the first while others were standing in wait. The Deep Ones, on the other hand, loved the incoming waterfall as it quickened their pace since (their webbed feet were not ideal on such smooth floors of the main concourse).
 
"We have to move to higher ground. With the waterfall, escaping underground will only make things worse." Shi Zuo said as he focused his chi towards his feet, allowing him to walk on water the moment he jumped out.
 
"To the roof, then?" Bin Yong suggested and Shi Zuo agreed as he evaded an incoming attack from a Deep One and pierced the broken shaft of the hatchet into the Deep One's eye socket and hacked it from the back.
 
They had a short term plan, but survival seemed nigh impossible when the odds of overwhelming numbers and lack of proper equipment were clearly stacked against them.

In a modern world where cultivators need a place to cultivate or vent their boredom, there are private businesses that set up instance dungeons with the aid of technology and cultivation magic to enable cultivators to train and commoners to experience the life of cultivation. They are called dungeon suppliers.

Xie Jin's one and only dream was to be a dungeon supplier and when his only relative passed away, the relative's inheritance gave him a plot of land and surprisingly, a 'System' Module which the relative had previously used. 

With the help of the system, Xie Jin decided to pursue his dream of becoming the number one dungeon supplier.

(13/8/2020) Author's opinion: At this point, this book had hundreds of chapters worth of content which I had planned for a long time. If you wish to undertake the book and appreciate the story, please read it up till chapter 300s to understand the sudden twist in chapter 100s.

i will admit that during that time, I am still a young budding author and could have expressed the story better in the early hundred chapters. But I assure you the story development is worth it.

The other guys were barely able to find a weapon when the dead attacked them. I don't plan to rescue them. I am not some omniscient God that can rescue and I also not a hero.

"Ahhhh!" a blonde haired girl screamed as blood splash out from her neck as the dead bit her neck hard.

"F*ck! I am out.... no!" A nerdy guy struggled to reload a magnum gun but got overwhelmed by the dead.

Kaito was doing good and he has a swift movement and managed to kill the undead as he shoot some on their heads. He seems to be a master since he is not struggling on using the gun. I on the other hand was having an easy going kills. I managed to pick a cleaver on a crate that was smashed. Combined with the Machete and Cleaver, I did not hesitate and kill.

"Kill!" a redhead woman shouted as she swings a Naginata on the undead. She was swift and every movement were fluid and very hard to read. Her strikes were so precise that the undead that tried to rush against her were all killed with their rotten heads lopped off from their necks.

The undead was pouring without end on the gate but the good thing is that the gate slowly closed. Kaito was able to get a hatchet from a fallen survivor, took it and use it instead of the Glock19 he is using earlier. He put the Glock19 on his pocket, it seems like the gun was out of bullets already.

In the end, only three of us were left, the redheaded girl pants as she held the Naginata hard on her arms. I did not break a sweat and Kaito was struggling. The last undead was killed and only the three of us were left standing from the arena full of undead. The emcee clapped her hands and the guest seems to be clapping too.

"Marvelous, that was a rock hard battle. These three managed to survive he horde without being bitten. However, that was still the round 1, can they survive round 2?"

Kaito and the girl was stunned, meanwhile I keep my face emotionless. I already figured it out. They plan to have only a single survivor left in the arena and once the winner is left, the battle will also be over.

"You demons! You are all not human!" the redhead shouted despite being tired after the mass slaughter.

"This is ridiculous," Kaito was speechless.

I did not voice out my frustration and just stared at the three gates simultaneously, I am not sure what undead are they going to throw on us and it would be better to be prepared. I prepared my stance and look at the two.

"Prepare if you don't want to die," I said to them in a cold voice.

Kaito was startled but he quickly prepared himself. The girl was not that stable but she soon recovered. The mechanical sound once again rang around and this time, it was a Juggernaut. 

"F*ck, a Juggernaut!" I roared.

The girl paled while Kaito's face filled with anger.

"Motherf*cking sh*t. You already died but you still are moving! You are mine!" Kaito rushed and attacked by swinging his hatchet.

Bang!

The Juggernaut slammed its big fists, almost hitting Kaito to smithereens. However, he managed to roll away allowing him to escape with only a few minor injuries on his skin. I looked at the girl and asked her.

"Do you have any experience killing a Juggernaut?!" I asked.

"N-no..."

"Then stay out of the way for now or you will die," I said as I brandish my Cleaver and Machete to the Juggernaut.

"But I need to help," the girl pleaded.

Before I can respond, another gate opened and another horde of undead appeared again.

"Sh*t another f*ckng horde!" I calmly look at the incoming horde. Its the normal undead but for the sake of everything, it was a hard job killing the undead while handling the attacks of the Juggernaut. Kaito was still beating the Juggernaut hard and even though it was an effort that is not really worth mentioning. The Juggernaut's skin was clearly thick along with the veins bulging out of its rotten dull grey skin, it didn't even have any sort of visible damage that was inflicted by Kaito. Instead, the hatchet he was using was clearly damaged as its blade was chipped off slightly. It can still be used but it was not that fatal as it was earlier where it was on its top condition. Still, he seemed to be more tenacious than the Juggernaut as he can still strike the Juggernaut.

I didn't bother much with Kaito. I applaud him for having a strong assassin skills but his eyes is filled with grudge against the person who became a Juggernaut. I ran around the arena to lure the fast moving undead. While running, I saw a Beretta M9 Pistol on the ground with a magazine nearby. I swiftly pick up the gun first and sprinted for a few meters before dashing back to the mag. While I did that, I held the machete and cleaver tight before slashing on the undead that I passed by. Evading their fast movements was hard but I managed to dodge a bit before slashing their heads hard. I didn't restrain my strength. Killing them is needed.

After the slashes, I did not bother flicking the blood of the dead that spilled out into my arm and just slides into the ground before grabbing the magazine.

"Hup!" I grabbed the mag using my right hand which is holding the cleaver. I dropped my cleaver to pick up the mag and with a sliding action, I managed to avoid the assault of the fast undead and instead of managing to launch an attack, it missed and tumbled. With a quick sidestep, I sprinted into the tumbled undead and with a small quick stab on the head using the machete causing blood to splatter.

The redhead was managing to repel the enemies. From what I can see, that Naginata of hers was not something she just used in coincidence. She seemed to be able to beat the undead with ease. She had an expertise on the weapon just like how Kaito brandishes his melee weapon that afternoon when he was still looking for that someone.  Just a shame that she was already tired for fighting a few undead. Anyone will get tired after running and also brandishing a weapon out of the blue. 

I rushed on the nearby metal barrel. Smacking it can generate sound waves which is ear catching and most undead love. With a swing, I smack the barrel repeatedly using the machete, creating a banging sound. Although the undead developed their senses again during Night Rage, they would not ignore something they suddenly got interested in and the sound that I was generating using the empty metal barrel is very tempting to their rotten ears.

The redhead were able to catch her breath but she frowned seeing me use myself as the bait. Of course, I am confident becoming a running bait, I have confidence. Soon, the undead came rushing like madmen and completely ignores the redhead as they are more inclined to attack me, after all, I made the most attention, even the Juggernaut tries to go and attack me, but the big guy failed as it was still trying to get rid of Kaito, who is like a cockroach trying to land on his body and inflict something harmful.

I have no idea what does those people on the viewers seat are thinking but I can slightly hear a few cheers like they were getting happy by the events going on. I have the urge to aim the Beretta M9 Pistol and empty the whole mag to these guys, if not for the fact that I really need any amount of bullet and weapons right now to survive.

I already loaded the Beretta M9 Pistol and fired it once but I have not really liked how to use a gun. It was obvious that I am not able to adapt completely on the gun as I was struggling still. The target us moving and was able to avoid the bullet by just swaying casually making me furious.

"F*cking undead!" I roared and strike down the rushing undead one by one. Striking the heads in a precise manner. The heads burst and every strike will kill the undead. Though I have close encounters of being bitten, I managed to brush them off without being harmed. My skin is still intact.

The battle against the normal undead ended faster than expected, the Juggernaut was also able to help, after all, with it thrashing about, any undead that was on its vicinity would never escape a landing fist from the big guy. If the Juggernaut was not able to mush down the dead that got struck down, then it would get killed by being reduced to broken pile of bones.

Now that the Juggernaut is left, my machete thirst for blood, this time, the Juggernaut is next.

Description: Rock hard and similar to a wall by description of the survivors who managed to survive their wrath by chance. They don't bite you and most of the time, uses physical attacks. For some reason, hitting their heads using rifles, shotguns, pistols and melee weapons seems to never work. Needs a cunning and suicidal methods to kill in close combat and requires pure luck. They seemed to die against rocket launchers and RPG Rockets. 

Trivia: Kaze is the first known Juggernaut in this novel.

Labeled as a delinquent and bad influence, high school student Kyosei Ichinose choose to stay out of the people around him, indulge himself to his headphones, pick fights against other people and stay alone.

Jacob - " That inscriptions meant this oh God , and I noted that down so carefully to decode them . All efforts gone in vain . "
Leo - " Silas we all wanted to ask that where did you get this hatchet from ? It's amazing ."
Silas - " Today , when I was arriving to the school on my way there was a strange lighting in the sky and this hatchet dropped in front of me and then a loud voice came keep this hatchet safely with you and don't allow anyone to touch it or even see it . "
Jacob - " But how could you read this inscriptions on the handle . "
Silas - " I also don't know how I could read that inscriptions but I was able to read this as if I have learnt this language . "
Jacob - " And your palm is bleeding because of this hatchet . "
Silas - " Yes I accidentally landed my palm on the crystal of the hatchet but because of the instructions given to me by that voice I couldn't tell you the reason . "
Leo - " According to you this hatchet dropped from the sky and is still in perfect condition without any mark on it . How ? "
Silas - " I don't know how but you all should not have touched it . "
Jacob - " And what about the sparks coming from it ? "
Silas - " I didn't noticed any spark , when I got it . "
Leo - " Look at the hatchet it is throwing sparks . "

Victor - " How can they disappear . "
Silas - " You all can only explain it carried it all the way to the school and didn't notices any spark coming from it . "
Leo - " But when Victor unwrapped this hatchet it was glowing like the sun . "

Victor - " Are you sure about it as Silas is staring at me . "

  [ Victor holds the hatchet and it begin to throw sparks ]
Leo - " Silas look we were not lying , sparks are real . "
Silas - " Can't believe my eyes . Sparks are real and this marvelous shine I have never seen it before . "
Jacob - " But the hatchet responded when Victor touched it as before him Leo and Silas have touched it and I pulled this hatchet out of Silas's bag but it didn't even glow and now throwing sparks . "
Silas - " But what's there so special in Victor that we don't possess . "
Victor ( to himself ) - " This hatchet responded when I touched it but it was given to Silas and didn't respond to him . "
Leo - " Look at the crystal below . There are clouds in it . "
Jacob - " The clouds are forming a tornado inside the crystal . "
Victor - " I can't control this hatchet anymore guys . It's trying to escape . "
Silas - " Don't let it go Victor . We don't know the consequences of this hatchet . "
Leo - " Is it the earth which is trembling or its my fear that is making my body to shear .
Jacob - " No Leo I can also feel the earth is trembling . "
        [ Emergency alarms begin to ring ]
  Run , run out everyone . Go find some shed for yourself . It's an earthquake . It was our principal who was warning all the students and other staff members present in the building to leave the building immediately . 
Leo - " Victor , bring that hatchet down . "
Victor - " I am trying this for long but this hatchet it trying to pull me to the sky . "
Jacob - " Try with all of your strength and keep this hatchet down . "
Victor - " Aaaa...... , it's pulling my flesh . "
Silas - " Let us all help him . "
  Victor , Silas , Leo and Jacob placed their hands on the hatchet to pull it down and with a loud noise similar to the one of a lightning blast or a massive explosion the hatchet's shine was gone and it returned back to normal and the earthquake also vanished soon after the loud noise , but this sound  lead to crack all the glasses of our campus and destroyed many of the school property and the earthquake made huge rifts on the ground .
