So, cultivation, but western, but not western.
Let's combine magic and cultivation
How bout Soul strength, you cultivate the strength of the soul, Yep that sounds good let's do that.
Let's make it so that everybody has a different power, so each soul will have to be different, what's a synonym for quirk? Trait lets call it a trait.
So everybody has a soul and they all have their own trait but that makes it hard to create a set system for combat, so let's make it so that everybody can do magic but your trait determines which type of magic you are better at and unique magics.
But I need melee warriors so mana can be channeled through the body to make it stronger, yep that works let's do that.
Now if I want a way to cultivate I need to make sure that everyone has a way to measure their strength so let's measure soul strength and give it a quantity. And of course we need levels, and straight progression is stupid so a logarithmic scale where each level requires ten times the soul strength.
level 1 - maybe 10
level 2 - level 1 * 10
level 3 - level 2 * 10
and so on. Yea that works let's do that

There we go, I've decided on the setting.

Dashing through the halls is me, even nearly bumping into Professor Olive. I am in a rush, for I couldn't wait but to tell the good news to my friend Virgo whom I am assuming is still reading her daily stack of novels like every normal day. Although I am aware of Charlotte's loss, the moment I had with Suicune dispersed it for a moment.
"Woah, you're looking happy tonight. Why are you all soaked in water?" Professor Olive questions after I nearly set a collision course towards her path.
"Hehe... You wouldn't believe me if I tell you."
"Tell me what?"
"I saw Suicune tonight! And it was majestic." I reveal to her and continued my dash to my room. She chuckles softly after hearing my words, saying, "Wonderful, the mind of a teenager." She clearly doesn't believe me but I can't force her to.
"Virgo!" I enter, slamming the door open. I pant heavily, begging for oxygen as I perspire. The tears before are now nothing but sweat. Virgo was shocked to see me all of a sudden causing her to tweak.
"Can you enter more peacefully next time? I was reading the climax of one of my favorite novels." Virgo bids, fixing her eyeglasses which tweaked with her.
"Sorry," I say with an embarrassed face.
"Why do you look like you're in a rush? And... what made you happy all of a sudden?"
"You can't believe what I've just encountered. The legendary Pokemon, Suicune! It allowed me to pet its forehead and neck but that is not the special part. Suicune allowed me to ride on its back! Isn't that great?!" I explain, a little over-exclaiming my words.
"Are you depressed?" She asks sarcastically, presuming that I have depression which caused me to hallucinate Suicune's image.
"A little, but when Suicune came, that disappeared. I'm not hallucinating Virgo. I've seen and experienced everything!" I persuade.
"Oh really now? I think it is the humans who search for legends and not the legends who look for humans and randomly appear out of nowhere. Based on the encyclopedia, the chance of a legendary Pokemon willing to go close to a human is about point one percent."
"I guess I'm that lucky." I boast off. No matter how much I tried to convince her, she still wouldn't believe my words. For her, this is all a joke, and I'm making things up only for the sake to forget Charlotte's loss. I do not concur with this.
"You've got to believe me! I am telling the truth. If I were depressed shouldn't I be suiciding by now? Plus, I am not a suicidal type of person and a loss is no excuse for killing myself. If you don't believe me, then check this out." I utter with a bit of sarcasm while displaying my Pokedex to Virgo's eyes.
[SUICUNE embodies the compassion of a pure spring of water. It runs across the land with gliding elegance. It has the power to purify dirty water. This divine POKéMON blows around the world, always in search of a pure reservoir. Suicune is already registered.] The Pokedex states. Usually when it states that a Pokemon is already registered it means that it is either I've seen or caught the Pokemon.
"What?!" Virgo tweaks again, can't believe what she just heard.
"Hehe! Now that is proof." I blow my own trumpet. (synonym: bragging/boasting)
"Yeah yeah. I wish I was you." She says, her eyes sparkle with magnificence. She dearly wishes to see Suicune too. 
"Is there any chance that the Pokemon is still there?" She questions, hoping for a yes.
"Sorry but I and Suicune already parted ways."
"Hmph. Fine, I'll admit. I am a bit covetous. I really wish I was you!" She says extremely desperate to have the will to stand and search for the Pokemon. A part of her is lazy however, forcing her to read her novel instead.
And so, as the night becomes deeper I and Virgo enter our slumber. 12:00 is lights out for us. I'll be honest, me and Virgo are late sleepers. Sometimes, if there is an amazing show on the TV or on the internet at 1:00 is our sleeping time. No wonder why we wake up very late, very undisciplined. 
I try earnestly to force myself to sleep but I can't. Her image appears again, causing a single tear to drop off. I open my phone in order to search for funny videos which would help me sleep but that did the opposite because of my wallpaper. Ah, I feel happy to see the picture of me and Charlotte as my wallpaper. In this way, I will never forget her image. My heart may ache after seeing the wallpaper, but well what can I say? I know she's happy up there, and perhaps she's smiling to see me from above.

All I wanted is to have a typical life, a life with no burden nor struggle. A life where someone appreciates my existence. Why did my desire for a blissful life bring me down this path? My body is filled with thorns as I walk to a path which I could not stray from. What have I done to deserve this? Why did they abandon me? Why am I shrouded with the hands of lie and fear? All I wanted is to live a life where no one mocks the burdens I bear. Is that too much to ask for?

Another week had passed but there was still no sight of Catalina. To my excitement, Loralie did show up after the weekend but I didn't want to test the waters by communicating with her. She was definitely the kind of person who wouldn't mind going to jail as long as they get what they want. Test the waters? Bloody hell, in her case, it would be testing the acids. Elwyn found novel ways to try and get her to talk to us during lunch break which resulted in instant, failed attempts. 

"Nobody loves me. I hate myself," He dramatically exclaimed. 

"You're not the only one who thinks that Elwyn," Loralie lifted her head and spoke. 

"That's so swee-" 

"I hate you too," She said and went back to burying her face in a paper. 

"Okay, now that's just plain rude!" He banged his fist on the table. 

"At least your pea-sized brain could comprehend that," She didn't look up this time. 

"Oh so you think you know everything, Loralie Hansel?" 

Elwyn may be forgetting how things turn out every time she gets angry. 

"I don't think I know everything, Elwyn Belcher. I am knowledged perfectly with what I'm supposed to know." 

"Is that so? Let me test your...your...vocabulary! I have with me, this crossword puzzle that the newspaper publishes once a week. I will ask you one question and you will have to give the right answer." 

"What do I get if I'm right?" She looked somewhat amused with his proposition. 

"My respect, till you graduate. What if you lose?" Elwyn pledged and questioned. 

"You shall have my gift of silence no matter what you say or do to me. My cousins too, will never question you." 

"Sounds like a cool deal to me. I guess then I'd have to give you the hardest word of this week. Let me see...ah, found it. Answer me Loralie, what is the other nine-lettered word for love which begins with 'd'?" Elwyn smugly asked. 

"Damnation," Loralie replied and boy were we baffled by her answer. 

"I didn't ask for the synonym of eternal punishment in hell, Loralie! It was of love. Love! Let me be compassionate like I always am and give you a hint. The word was used only in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, so nobody uses it anymore." 

"I'm not sure how that hint is supposed to help but I personally think love is the damnation of anyone and everyone. I don't see why you'd put your life and faith in another person's hands so blindly." 

This girl is certifiably messed up in the head isn't she? 

Saying that, she left, leaving the paper she was indulged in a while ago, on the table. It was the weekly crossword puzzle she left behind and imagine our dumfounded reactions when we saw the correct answer, 'dilection' written in the blocks. 

Elwyn complained, "I don't like her Blaine. I can't predict anything about her or see visions of her." 

And like always, I shrugged wondering, just what is Loralie Hansel? 

Before I was about to enter the classroom, I had come face-to-face with Loralie. Now I knew not to disconcert or refuse her if I wanted to keep my head in place so I didn't move an inch. Her face was stoic like always but her eyebrows furrowed a little, meaning she was annoyed by something. Oh, look at those pretty long lashes... 

"I don't like you Blaine. I find it laborious trying to predict your actions." 

Wow, would you look at that. Are Loralie and Elwyn perhaps stranded siblings? 

"I've been hearing you've completely forgiven Callan Armstrong?" She folded her hands, striking a power pose. 

I looked sideways to find for some escape from her but I found it slightly surprising how her small body occupied the entrance, leaving me no space to squeeze in. 

"Let me get this one thing straight. You have interfered with my plans. Nobody interferes with my plans. You might have let him get away because of sympathy or whatever, but I will not let him or his dead father have salvation, or peace. There comes a day, when everyone has to pay. You too. Try not to get in my way or you might accidentally die of a sudden, unexpected cyanide release in your house. Nobody will ever know how you died." 

Her whispers were like those of a witch in a horror movie. Her breath on my ear sent tingly sensations and goosebumps, making my hair stand up. As much as I wanted to look upon her face, I couldn't. This time, I was extremely scared of what diabolical expression she would be wearing and she also indirectly made one thing clear – she was a part of the Mayor's murder. 

"You must be wondering why I so easily revealed such a huge secret to you. Isn't it obvious? How could a mute, timid boy possibly have claimed that the Mayor was killed, without evidence? Do you think I'd let you live for even three minutes if you happened to reveal that to the police? You're a smart kid, you should know better," saying that, she stepped aside, leaving me space to enter the classroom, and while I was going inside, she caught my arm in a death grip. 

"Never interfere with me again, Blaine Bennett. You have been warned. Also, be there at my place this weekend for the piano lessons. You missed so many weeks already. You know what happens when someone tests my patience," She threatened and went to sit in her seat. But something was strange. She held my hand only at the place where I didn't have any wounds. There was only a small area unaffected and she held me tight right there. It's a coincidence, right? It has to be. 

Right when I was deep in thoughts, Elwyn popped out of nowhere and put his arm around my shoulder. I threw him a nasty look. 

"You don't expect me to interrupt that girl's conversation and save you, do you? I really enjoy pissing her off but I don't want to die in my youth. She doesn't like to be interrupted and you know it," He replied. 

He then looked at Loralie and said sighing, "Well, what do you know? We have a new bully in town."

This is not a story of a charming boy next door and a pretty girl wherein they meet, fall in love and live happily ever after. This is a story of a boy with nothing but intellect as his only treasure and a baneful girl with secrets nobody dares ask her about. The pursuit of his answers begin long after when he comes to know that he too is a part of the skeletons in her cupboard and unsuspected feelings bloom in him as he sees in her a familiar face from his bygone years. This is not the story of a boy who grew into a man through pain. This is the story of a girl who was never to be born.

Classes

Fighter:
The most popular Class in AOS. Somewhat balanced between ATK and DEF, even though most players play Fighter as a DPS-Class.

Sub-Classes:

Fencer:
The Fencer is a fast-paced fighter with high mobility. But his mobility doesn't affect his out of combat stats. He is equipped with one or two rapiers. His kit is based on dodging, fast pace attacks, party ATK-buffing and long Combos.

Gladiator:
The Gladiator is a perfectly balanced Class. He doesn't focus on any attribute at all. He is equipped with a single-handed sword. His kit is based on Normal Attacks, and self-buffing. Not popular in parties, because he's not as tanky as a 'Fortress' and deals less DPS as a 'Dual Blade' or a 'Fencer', but due to his good balance of ATK and DEF he is the best choice for Solo-players.

Dual Blade:
The Dual Blade is a high-damage fighter with high ATK. His focus is on hitting the enemy with high damage attacks rather than fast paced attacks (like the 'Fencer'). He is equipped with two swords. His kit is based on high damage attacks, self ATK-buffing and medium-long Combos with high damage.


Tank:
Tanks focus on getting hit by as much damage as possible by using taunts and DEF-Buffs. Indispensable in most Raids and Parties.

Sub-Classes:

Juggernaut:
Comparable to the 'Fighter Sub-Class Gladiator'. Very balanced between ATK and DEF, but available items and Skills are focused on DEF. He is equipped with a sword and a shield. His kit is based on self DEF-buffing, Normal Attacks, taunts and small Combos. Not popular in teams, because he's not as tanky as a 'Fortress' and deals less DPS as a 'Fighter'. Not very popular for Solo-players either, because Solo-players tend to play the 'Gladiator'.

Fortress:
The definition of a guardian. The Fortress tries to get all the attention from enemies, and tank as most hits as possible, while the rest of the party deals the damage. He is equipped with a sword, a shield and heavy armor. His kit is based on self and party DEF-buffing and taunts.

Samurai:
The Samurai is a 'Tank Sub-Class' equipped with a Katana and heavy armor. He has an aggressive fighting style, which gives him a bit more damage than the fortress, but less tankiness. His kit is based on self and party DEF-Buffs, taunts, Normal Attacks and Abilities.


Assassin:
The Assassin is a high damage burst Class. Very Combo/- and Ability- dependent. Only class in AOS with ranged attacks (even though they are very weak). Even though the Assassin has a very high ATK attribute, his Normal Attacks don't hurt too much.

Sub-Classes:

Shadow Blade:
The Shadow Blade focuses on stealth attacks and attacking from behind. The Shadow Blade is not very mobile, and only has some dashes/gap closer which can only be used offensive. He is equipped with a dagger and shurikens. His kit is based on attacking other Damage Dealer as silent as possible, with high burst Abilities and Combos. His Ability to move invisibly and quietly makes the Shadow Blade a great scout and spy.

Blade Dancer:
Unlike the 'Shadow Blade', the Blade Dancer doesn't focus on silent burst assassination, but on high pace burst Abilities. He is comparable to the 'Fighter Sub-Class Fencer' but with less DMG and more burst. He is equipped with two daggers and shurikens. His kit is based on burst Abilities with high pace, dodging, and assassinations. The Blade Dancer can not only initiate fights, with his dashes on low DEF enemies, but can also get out again with dashes. He is the only Sub-Class in AOS, which can use dashes in-combat to escape.




Attributes
Combat Attributes:
The Combat Stats are Stats which influence the combat. You can get 200 Combat Stat Points by Leveling up (One Combat Attribute Point for each Level), but the amount of individual Combat Stat Points you can get by leveling up your character is maxed at 100 (E.g. A Level 200 Fencer has reached his max Agility at 100 points used for leveling up Agility, he has still 100 Points which he can now use for leveling up other Attributes). However, Equipment can get your Combat Stat Points to up to 200 (E.g. The same level 200 Fencer has a rapier with 100 Agility Points. Even though the max Combat stat points which he can use for leveling up Agility are already used, his agility is no on 200).

Attack(ATK)
The Attack Stat indicates the damage of your Normal Attacks. Most Combos, ATK Buffs and Abilities scale of your ATK as well.
Defense(DEF)
The Defense Stat indicates the damage you can prevent from Normal Attacks, Combos and Abilities. Most DEF Buffs scale of your DEF as well.
Agility(AGI)
The Agility Stat indicates the amount of Normal Attacks you can perform per second (0 Agility = 1 Hit per second; 200 Agility = 3 Hits per second). The Agility Stat also indicates the speed of your Combos.
Mobility(MOB)
The Mobility Stat indicates the speed at which your body can move, the Dodging chance. The lower the enemies AGI the higher is your chance to dodge a Hit.
Hit Points(HP)
The Hit Points (or Health Points/Life Points) indicate the amount of health you've got.
Stamina(STA)
The Stamina Stat can be compared to 'MP' in other RPGs. It indicates the amount of endurance you've got left to cast abilities or combos. Normal Attacks can be performed even without any Stamina at all.


Out of Combat Attributes:
Out of Combat Attributes start at 1 to the beginning of your game. For every Level-Up your Out of Combat Attributes are raised by 1. Can be improved by equipment.

Movement Speed(MS)
Your MS Stat is just slightly affected by leveling up or improving by equipment.
HP Regeneration(Regen)
Your Regen start of at 1 which is equal to 0.5 HP per second, by Leveling-Up and equipment this Stat can rise up to 400, which is equal to about 200 HP per second. With an in-combat Regen Skill the half of your current Regen can be used in-combat for 30 seconds. 


Social Attributes:
The Social Attributes can be used to help yourself (or others) out. It can be raised by practicing or items.

Cooking
The Cooking Attribute indicates how well you can cook. By Leveling-Up this Attribute you can cook harder meals without destroying them (E.g. you can't cook S class ingredients as a level 1 Cook).
Cleaning
The Cleaning Attribute indicates how fast and good you can clean up your (or others) home(s). By Leveling-Up this Attribute you can clean up faster.
Crafting
The Crafting Attribute indicates how fast you can work as a Blacksmith or Craftsman, and which materials you can use. (E.g. you can't use S class Ores as a level 1 Blacksmith).

This addition was created to make it easier for me to keep all the classes and Attributes in AOS in view, and I thought that you might have an easier time as well, understanding all the things which are going on. 

Explanation to all abbreviations (or words you might not understand) used:

Author's Note: First Novel I ever published here. May remind some of SAO, but yeah... It actually isn't really like SAO at all. I would appreciate any corrections of grammar/spelling errors since I'm not a native English speaker.
In addition to that, this is a 'First Draft', so I may edit a few things in old chapters when I feel like it.



The world would crucify anything that opposes the evil system for trying to point the people to the truth that will set them free. Truth is the only answer to redirect the world to the right direction and keep humanity on track not to tend the direction of redundancy all in the name of making things easy through strange intrusions of which today it has become obvious as technologies. Now, the evil force is using his transformer’s principle to crucify men with the subscriptions to current releases of alien technologies and you will get to understand what that principle is even as I proceed. 

I will be saying some things that will sound very controversial, but that what truth has become in our today’s world. However, I pray for the opening of your eyes of understanding, as the revelation will not sound like the conventional you must have heard in one way or the other. Speaking from my point of view, they introduce us to English language, even when we have our language with the 26 alphabets, even without having the understanding of the stake of the alpha codes that only defines the initial letters of reality known as objects of actuality as hidden in the bets. Nevertheless, from our root, they displace us by deliberate design as a program so that we will end up not understanding our stakes (rights) in the atom (life), with the thoughtful target to reduce our minds to complete ignorance with the principle “YOUR STAKE IN THE ATOM” called YSITA, which I will explain as I proceed. Even, when we all have a stake (right) in the atom (life), the evil one has used the system to reduce us to a level of slave, even lower. Even slaves have rights to an extent, but ignorance gives our right to him who is powerless and he will hide under the shadow of our ignorance to create a condition of fear in our hearts and we will end up dispelling our power that will now make him appear as if he is powerful. So this has made life more difficult, as what we now define as to our improvement is actually to our drawback, detrimental to our future. 

We were introduced to number system in various culture, with unique tradition of which in what have precedence in our knowledge drive now stands on the principal of base 10, which became a general acceptable number base system of every culture and tradition. However, we were not told why 10 does not exist in the sequence of what is defined as base 10, which implies, if 10 does not exist, then, what is defined to us as base, is actually baseless. The moment I made this statement, I could hear the murmuring from the audience and I was picking in the signals of their current thoughts, in the heart of my heart (ear), as I could hear the thoughts of the group of sages, philosophers and scientists, saying “This is another ideology and we cannot imagine what this speaker is saying, but, the amazing thing is that, what he is saying is making sense.” Nevertheless, if you want to find out this truth, you can just check the synonym of base on your computer system right now. Let me guide you as you do this! All right, if you have with you a windows or whatever computer system, open the Microsoft word. Please, type the word “BASE”, right click the word you have typed, you will see these options, font, paragraph, smart lookup, synonym, hyperlink and new comments. Draw your cursor to the option “SYNONYM”, when you do that, you will see these words display i.e. dishonorable, improper, ignoble, sordid, corrupt, vile, immoral, and disreputable. Can you see the Holes-in-the-wall? The synonym as revealed in my apple iMac system ends with the word “center” and center points to the heart. This in turn reveals that the heart of reality in the world we are is reducing us to what we have adopted in our hearts. Nevertheless, what are we adopting, if it is not technologies? 

Since the transformer understands perfectly well the power of our current thoughts, from that understanding, he is limiting us to what I call the limit of alpha bets (LAB). The transformer carries out his design experiments in his lab (limit of alphabet) by using men as guinea pigs. Men are use as the transformer’s specimen to carry out experimentation to oppose the good and original intention for man’s existence. However, alpha reveals the important, dominant, chiefly, primary, leading or first impression to keep man in the limit of his thought with the bets, which reveals wagers, gambles, plays, stakes, flutters, backs and risks that connects a man to a wage. Nevertheless, that wage is the reward of immorality in an irresistible package as if it is authentically good, but the implication is death. The way of death often comes in the form of good in a way that seems right, but ends in destruction, and this is exactly the direction that technologies is tending humanity. 

They tells us that numbers are uncountable, but did not tell us letters are… However, in reality the fundamental authenticity of knowledge is based on three letters from my point of view (POV) called the ABC of knowledge. From my perspective of divine revelation insight, which the B is the heart of the reality and A is the origin, which by divine revelation insight, what you will hear further from me will not tend the direction of our conventional knowledge system. This will be a model to exposing the lies that our conventional knowledge system had flooded our hearts with and this has become our major driving force. 

Let me begin by stating clearly that base 10 is what begins the letter base as A. Therefore, A – Z is a definite model deliberately built from what we now called hexadecimal base known as base 16. I do not know if most scholars like you listening to me right now, knows this. Well, I am not a scholar, but I cannot be deceived with the grand design of the transformer and with the knowledge that I have reached, I will make very crystal clear some knowledge that we have come to accept as truth that has dragged us completely into the broad path. I will throw more lights on some deep thoughts as regarding some certain ideologies we are still holding tenaciously. 

There is a reason why computer does what it does… Converting binary strings to letters through what they told us is machine or object codes (0 and 1), connects the low-level language. This defines the alphabetic code operating with base 16 as its foundational generator, ranging from A - F, which begins at A and terminates at F. However, we were not taught if it continues, since we know that the reading of the alphabetic letters does not terminates at F, but proceeds to terminate at Z according to the limit that they have defined for us, what if…? What if the sequence of the base 16 does not terminate at the limit defined to us as F, since there are degrees of base 16, what will be the exponents of base 16 if our number base is 10? 

When the sequence of base 16 terminates not as end, but in the limit of 4 bits, and continues with the other letters as the object codes picking up form as the bits increases. Nevertheless, it will interest you to know what they did not teach you, is the high-level language, that is why they have given us several models to aid our language translations, and this translator can assemble, compile, and interpret whatever language we do not understand to our understanding. Nevertheless, the truth is, even when we do not understand, we will still end up accepting whatever we are been given as they teach us, because it is like a slave under a taskmaster who knows no freedom. Therefore, what defines freedom to such a slave in captivity may not be freedom for real, which implies, the one in captivity may end up fighting against freedom, because the knowledge of freedom is far reached. 

When people get used to captivity, they will end fighting any attempt of change that will lead to liberation and in this pathetic state, we find ourselves. 

What did they teach you about A – Z? What if…? 

I know from what I learned in my English language class, I could infer what you also learnt, provided English language is the medium of communication. Nevertheless, if you learnt what I learned as English language, then, you learnt how to memorize the letters and afterward, these letters was stuck to your memory, even as you had them crammed. Now, you can use letters to communicate, but there is always something unknown, especially about what you are using to communicate. Therefore, what you need to know is exactly what I want to tell you. I wish for the eyes of your understanding to be open so you could grasp the reality that will expressed as I speak to you. As you accept the truth, you will be able to resist the lies from the pit of hell that now seem to have become the major driver of humanity, instead of the right thought that we have now relegated to background. 

The good essence does not drive in carnality, but in piety and until we are absorbed into the life of piety, sensuality will be the major drive. Nevertheless, that is why our focus has now become material things, so if what the good force desires is the gift of our sincere heart, we will end up thinking, what the desire is our material possessions and as a result, we will end up robbing each other all in the name of God. 

Knowing the secret of computer programming is like porting into the eyes of the transformer with the knowledge of the truth. You cannot shut down the current lies of the transformer who is like melodeon shark that does not spare its prey, until you allow the good forces to become your only drive in life. It will take divine help to break free from the grip of the evil one who has a high sensor to dictate the vibrations of your thoughts. Ignorance is a drag and it will drag you into the ocean of deceptions and lies that is more like untamable flood into the heart of humanity, poured into the reservoir of information, acting as a data base where the contents of education are served as meal. However, it is so pathetic that humanity is now drinking and eating deceptions and lies. Once you have subscribed to the evil program, you will become the hardware to run evil as good all in the claim that you are now a program developer. Most of you hearing my voice is unfortunately promoting a course you know nothing about. 

The principle of Base 2 and Base 16 are the centers like PI and RI of the Spirit of writing computer programs, like electronic and electricity or generator and transmitter. However, for real, there are codes beyond the knowledge of nonprofessionals that hides the true images of the letter base, even as they did not tell us the letter base the same way, they told us the number base. If number has a base and what defines base, does not exist in the sequence of the base, how can that be a base? Why did they tell us as we are now telling others about the letter base? Does number base exist? If number base does exist, why is letter infinite as numbers? We need to ask questions to get answers and if we must get the right answer, we must deliberately choose to ask the right question. Question your existing knowledge to open your eye.

Xian Lang experienced a spectrum of emotions as his sophisticated life story, which was worth writing in a novel, was played in front of him at a speed of a millisecond on a floating wide screen of which only he could see ‒ which was totally impossible for a naked eye to follow but possible for those who had near-death experience. And the last emotion that pounded in him was of regret. Yes, regret. Regret for he might embrace death this very dawn ‒ for it was past midnight ‒ without meeting Xinyi. 
But who could have guessed that Xionmao would appear at this unexpected point in time and instantly yanked the flying spear before the tip would reach Xian Lang's chest, and landed a heavy kick on the speeding man's belly, sending the poor guy to the meter-high platform prepared by Lifen for the auction. The newly built temporary stage fell at once in a loud crash. 
It seemed the god of death sympathized with Xian Lang's regret and gave him a fair chance, and stopped the assigned angel of death from striking him. 
As for Xionmao, he came to save Lifen, but was surprised to find the person he had to save was Xinyi's father instead, and the woman in concern was absent. Nevertheless, he didn't stop there. Without further ado, he pulled the bracelet from a dead man in black, and as if he had coiled springs under his feet, jumped six meters away from where he stood, plunging the bracelet with power stones straight to a hole at the gate's tiled roof. And flipped his body backward after.
Without warning, a loud humming reverberated in the courtyard and everyone within the Anjing Pavilion's perimeter froze in stupefaction, aside from Xionmao, the prime minister, and the Lei family. Not that the formation's power made them freeze, but because this was the first they experienced the formation. They stood still, feeling the atmosphere, and waiting for what would occur next.
After realizing what happened, Zhai took charge. "Everyone, come in." Zhai yelled from the gate. His clansmen and the guards outside rushed in in no time. 
The enemies didn't dare to follow, hearing that reverberating hum. One of them was dissatisfied with losing against their opponents and flung a sword to Zhai, but was astonished to witness the power of the formation. An invisible shield deflected the sword at the gate's entrance. From there, no one dared to do anything.
They turned their heads around and were devastated when they saw there were only five of them left after stirring the Lei clan's nest. The one who threw the sword leaped up a tree branch and peered inside the pavilion walls. And nodded. 
In extreme quietness, they stepped back into the shadows and disappeared without a trace, as if the shadows devoured them into nothingness.
Zhai took that nod as a sign, turned around, and thought of checking if they caught an enemy alive. However, Xian Lang was ahead of him. 
"They are dead." He said on one knee bended, checking a body at the shattered platform. "This one died not because of Sir Xionmao's kick."
"What was the cause then?" Zhai said, looking aghast at the blackened face of a man in a black outfit. "Did he burn himself? But there was no fire."
"This is not a sign of burning. His flesh is still intact and not dried up. His skin just... turned black." Xian Lang stretched the upper lip sideways of the dead person, exposing the completely white teeth with no sign of discoloration. "Not from poisoning either." 
"No sign of stabbing too." Fu said with body bent low, studying the darkened flesh underneath the coat of another dead enemy .
"Such a strange way to erase all clues." Luqat joined in.
Xionmao didn't say a word but only listened to their analysis, like an investigator taking notes but inwardly. 
"As long as we know they are from the Bernavoles' camp, we can find them." Xian Lang said, staring at the black hair of the man he took off the veil earlier. It was red when he first saw it. He was sure of it. His fingers touched the hair and separated it like the red sea parted in the middle, exposing the dark scalp. There were no signs of dyes applied to it.
"Bernavoles?" Zhai said. "Really? How can you be so sure?"
"I might be old now, but my eyes can still differentiate red hair from what not. I really saw this guy have red hair when we fought earlier, but… it changed. Anyway, we'll investigate this more and watch out for their next move." He faced Zhai. "Where is your mother?"
Suddenly, a lady bolted to the courtyard, shouting, "Brother, brother, Ma ‒" Lei An[1] ran frantically to Zhai. She paused, standing with upper body bent forward, and lifting an opened palm at the questioning face of her brother. Her breathing was fast. Her throat sunk deep in every inhalation.
"What happened to Ma?" Zhai thought of sprinting to his mother's room, but Lei An spoke.
"Brother, Ma is gone. I searched everywhere but I couldn't find her."

Shortly after Lifen left the courtyard, she rushed into her room, and jumped naked in the cold water inside the wooden tub behind a standing screen in her room. Her body trembled as the chill ran through her spine because of the icy-cold water.
"What the heck happened to those birds?" She said, shivering.
Her mind went into a frenzy thinking she became a living toilet, a fecal depository, a statue of smelly droppings or any synonym she could think of depicting a poop bowl, when she hadn't disturb those birds at all. She only wanted to finish the illusion formation, but those damn fowls turned her into their excrement receiver.
"They never acted this way before, aside from the stampede when Mafan was here."
She was annoyed, flaming in anger beyond comprehension, and totally wanted to blow all her frustration to anyone, if there was one who would dare to announce himself in her room at this moment.
It seemed someone heard her and would grant her wish ‒ the man with the hat. 
No one saw him trailed sneakily behind her when she ran. He hid his presence well in an invincibility coat, believing this woman was not one to treat lightly. 
As for Lifen, her keen sense was too low because of anger. Her vulnerability was so high that he could sneak in right after she entered her room before she closed the door. He saw her stripped off her full-of-feces clothes and visually saw her lovely nude body displayed before him before she hopped in the tub. He gulped with care, watching her two well-formed mound on her chest. 
However, this man was not someone who would easily give in to such a temptation. He had a well-trained mind and good self-control.
He walked on tiptoes in the room, grabbed her quilt on her bed, dragged a cloth belt from a wooden rack, hid behind the standing screen while Lifen slashed her frustrations at the chilly liquid, splashing out water from the tub. And without waiting for her to finish her mutterings, he stomped a foot, intentionally alerting her.
His action was a success because Lifen's anger abated instantly and turned to where the sound came from, with her arms covering her front. 
"Who's there?"
Silence.
Lifen tried to decipher what and where that sound came from. As an experienced fighter, she didn't dismiss what she heard for the silence. Her brain seemed to work alongside her sense of hearing now. She was certain it was a heavy stomping. Before standing, she pulled down her clean robe hanging on a rack near the wall. Keeping a robe there was a long time habit that didn't change as she aged. She put on the cotton long-sleeve clothes in one graceful movement before stepping out the tub. 
How experienced she might be or how keen her senses could be, no one could easily beat a well-prepared invisible abductor. With a step, he tossed the thick blanket on her and pulled it down after another step, and tied the belt around her, keeping the covering in place. The last touch, a palm hit her nape, shutting her defiance for good.
He carried her on his shoulders and covered himself with her under the magical coat. And the door went ajar on its own, with no one seen stepping out over the threshold.
Just in minutes, he had taken her out from her room, passed through the fight at the courtyard with no one noticing their exit after a successful abduction.

Xinyi watched Lei Ming's back as he walked away. As he was out of earshot, she gave a careless smile and rested her palms on her waist.

"This is totally unexpected. What a farce of a marriage. So what? I don't care too..." she said as she suddenly jumped and swirled around in glee.

But… an unexpected encounter under the moonlight changed everything. Most of all, when he discovered he was meant to protect his wife.

"You should ask where it's right!" Yi Shuang Shuang shook her head, looking like she looked down upon him.
Ling Han accepted it with an open mind, and said, "Please point it out."
Yi Shuang Shuang started to create difficulties, and said, "Where's the tea? The present for acknowledging a master? Brat, you're not really thinking about getting things for free, right?"[1]
"Hehe, are you for free?"[2] Ling Han said with a smile.
Yi Shuang Shuang glared at him, and said, "Brat, you're seeking death again?"

She coughed lightly, and went on, "In the divine realm, countries are divided into a total of four levels: heaven's court, sovereign's court, emperor's court, and king's court, with heaven's court being the highest, and king's court the lowest. "Theoretically, it's impossible for a mayfly world to produce a sovereign court. It's not qualified enough." 
Ling Han immediately said, "Before, Fatty Ma established Purple Moon King's Court, but now it's Purple Moon Emperor's Court[3] I didn't think that fatty was that unreliable."
Yi Shuang Shuang nodded, and said, "That fatty had been buried for so many years, and was cocky to dare claim it was an emperor's court. Fortunately, he's not in the divine realm, or it'd be bulldozed."

Ling Han shrugged, and said, "It's useless to talk about this now, we'd better talk about something more practical."
Yi Shuang Shuang rolled her eyes at him, and said, "How can I explain it clearly without speaking more in detail?"
"But you say don't even think about it now and then not qualified enough, I really don't get the point." Ling Han sighed. 
"The point is coming right up, have some patience, alright?" Yi Shuang Shuang said. "Establishing a nation is easy. But if you want to extract the power of nation, it definitely doesn't suffice to just establish a nation.
"Power of nation, a nation's influence, its fortune. Where does it come from? It's your subjects' faith in this country and their dependence on the country, which then allows for the power of nation to be extracted."
Ling Han knew this: the conversion of popular sentiments allowed the power of the nation to be extracted, or else the power of the nation would be empty talk.
"However, normal people can't possibly have seen you, and a nation is an abstract existence, so how will your subjects have faith?" Yi Shuang Shuang asked.

Ling Han fell into deep thought, and said, "Then what should I do?"
"You need a totem to be the the nation's symbol, and through this totem, popular sentiments can aggregate while you extract the power of the totem. This is the correct way of the power of the nation," Yi Shuang Shuang said.
Ling Han gave an oh, and asked curiously, "You're quite clear about divine realm's situation, could you be from the divine realm?"
"Hehe, you guess!" Yi Shuang Shuang wasn't willing to give a definite answer.
Ling Han didn't dwell on this point, and said, "Then how's the totem made?"
"That's easy. You can find some arbitrary thing and place it in the ancestral shrine, then spread the portrait thereof all over the nation for people to worship.
