A long time ago, in a time before time, the eight fabled words existed within the primordial realms.

Travel. Contract. Magic. Adorable kids. Desert. Detective. Designer. Prom.

Our universe today stems from these eight words, known as the Octennial Texts! 

This is a magical story about Veol Bwen, a young girl with a bizarre beginning as she journeys to become a Contracter.

(This is a very short (perhaps longer if I feel like it) story for Writing Contest 57; simply for fun and as an attempt to stretch my writing muscles . . .)

And yes, adorable kids is one word. 

. . .

On a beautiful mountain sits a beautiful city; and on the mountain's peak, sits a beautiful mansion. The mansion is occupied by an old and rich couple who are known to tell amazing stories, both true and fiction. All the kids of the city would make the climb to their abode to hear their stories; of wonder, of tragedy, of heroes, and villains. On one faithful day, at the time where the old man was ready to tell yet another tale, a kid looked over to a book. 

"So, kids, what story do you want me to tell you about?" 

"Oh! Oh! How about the one where the hero slays the dragon!" 

"Or about the great and mysterious traveling merchant!" 

"Or about the mad scientist!" 

The kids were mentioning very popular tales. These tales are all fictional, as is most of his stories. And then a lonely kid at the back raised his hand. 

"Oh! You there boy, at the back! What story do you want to be told?" 

"How about the green one on your book shelf..." 

To the kids, he looked out of place, but for the old man, his face showed happiness, and for the first time in a long time, excitement. The book in question blended in to the rest of the shelf, making the majority of people only glance; But it was said that this book gets the attention of people who are special. As soon as the book was mentioned, the old man's wife, many adults, and all the maids, stood attention; their interest can be easily seen. 

"Ah yes, this book. Pandora's Adventure, the story told, no lore unsung. You have a good eye young one, for this book is contains a tale to beat all other tales that I have told you. What's more amazing is, this is one of the very few tales that are not fiction." 

The kids were happy and excited and intently listened at the old man. The story told there was bland, and truly boring; making many of the kids tired from the first page alone. The story was quick and unfulfilling that some of the kids were furious. 

"I thought the story was cool gramps! This is such a letdown..." 

"The story was quickly made and wrongly written... but this was not true." 

The kids suddenly perked up. 

"The true story lies in only a few people, and one of those people is me. So, my children, do you want to know the true story? The true adventure?" 

The kids obviously rejoiced and agreed to the old man, as he used his magic to add mist to the air and the mist created an image. 

 

The story; long forgotten, long untold, has just begun.

Lore Unsung is a man born with a curse, a curse that brings bad omen to his life with every step he takes, dies. 

He was then sent to another world by God to repay Lore for his curse.

Lore, excited for the awesomeness that he will do, quickly agreed.

And then the opposite happens; funny, weird and/or bizarre situations ensues.

But there's an epic story in there too...i think

This is my first shot at creating web novels so criticism is much appreciated. 

This is also but a hobby of mine so I'm sorry, but updates will be at the minimum of 1 chapter a week.

"Young Master, young mistress, are you both ready?" Ling Qin asked them.

They were waiting near at the front door for where the strength test is taking place.

Ling Lan's lips twitch, Ling Fei chuckled after seeing it. "Granpa Qin, we will be fine. You can chill your nerves, your expression is like expressing that you're the ones is taking the test and we're the one waiting for your results"

Ling Lan seconded. "Yes, grandpa Qin. Does your faith for us is really that low?"

Ling Qin seeing them like that, calm down a bit. "It is not like that. After all, every years there will be kids with outstanding talents and might send some implications for your tests to be disqualified or something."

The twins facepalmed after hearing him. 

Ling Lan comforted him. "C'mon, grandpa Qin. It won't be and will never be."

"But... your exams results earlier..." Ling Qin muttered while still can't stop to doubt the twins.

Ling Lan face darkened and Ling Fei whistles innocently.

The sudden flash of the memories of the result of their intelligence test in their minds, pass-by.

There are four parts of enrollment tests: Intelligence, Strength, Stamina and Speed.

The first test was so easy, that can be consider not a real test. All they did was like having an interview, face to face, the kid and the examiner. Then the result is out after 3 to 5 minutes.

Ling Lan scores was 80, and she didn't know what she will do, either she cry or laugh, with her feeling of helplessness, it was still the same as what in the story.

Ling Fei just scored the same score of Ling Lan. After knowing his results, he just scratch his cheeks. But after checking the other kid's result, his face was stoned into a poker face one. Slowly turning to face Ling Lan and they both stared at each other. Only their eyes are communicating.

'What the, big'bro? We already knew that my score was 80 in the story, I can accept mine being the same with it, but... what the hell is yours too!?'

'Maybe... The opposite effect... Of the so called 'butterfly effect'?'

'Big'bro, I might not that smart or intelligent... but you're insulting me now. What do you mean the opposite? Is there a opposite of it in the first place?... Then if it's like that... we were just following the script then?'

'Err... Sorry... I mean, the opposite of 'butterfly effect' is... the 'fate', right?'

'The 'fate'... .... We... ... Why don't we just troll the whole tests so we can break this so called 'fate'? I remembered that the contradiction for it was... having a choices, to take that intended path or lean towards the unknown...'

'... Lil'sis, you're being naughty again... What if we were disqualified? Should I report to mom that you're the mastermind of instigating of trolling the whole school exams then?'

'... Big'bro, yah lov' me, aye?' Ling Lan asked and did a 'beautiful eyes' actions. The blinking eyes rapidly and acting a cute little poor girl.

Ling Fei facepalmed.

On the outside of their perspectives. 

They are can't be just ignored by the other kids with their looks. Two faces that very similar, same with having soft-snow skins, same height and have a same long hairs. They noticed that the two kids are staring at each other that long, and suddenly they will saw the one wearing the floral and frilly skirt will act like a poor little cute girl.

This action almost made the whole little boys that looking at her, stunned and blushed without knowing it.

While for the little girls, they were mesmerized by the kid with the same face but instead wearing a jean, they know that he is a 'he', for how he seriously looked, having a cold but warm aura at the same time, at the kid in his front with the same face. They can just see some flowers floating around that boy.

The kids that had been charmed unintentionally by the twins, slowly walking towards them. But these kids stopped at their tracks because they felt a little fear in their hearts after taking their third steps and a sudden drop on the surrounding temperature.

And because they're were mesmerized by the beautiful scenery in their eyes. They saw too how the both kids with similar faces, changed from being warm and looked like a friendly kids into a cold and distance kids.

This changes made the kids' bodies trembled and subconsciously didn't do anything after feeling the twin's searching and checking eyes, stared at them, slowly. 

Ling Fei knows that they're just a kids, but he doesn't want to be bothered and disrupted while talking to his sister. And it was the same with Ling Lan.

So they just tone down the cold chilling aura that they're releasing as they didn't want to be that cruel to the kids, and make some unnecessary traumas for them.

Soon, it was Ling Lan turned to take the test. 

Ling Qin cheered her. "Young mistress, you can do it!" With a expression of being excited and nervous at the same time.

Ling Lan smiled. "Grandpa Qin, you look so cute~" Then she kissed his cheek. "Don't worry, I will do this..." And went to go inside with skipping steps, but before the door completely closed. She raised her right arm with a fist, look back at Ling Fei and smiled naughtily... Then shouted. "For the horde!~"

*Bang

The door closed and every kids saw Ling Lan do that were speechless. And the silence crawls at the place. 

Even Ling Qin was stunned, then he rack his brain for trying to understand a thing or two from what Ling Lan means.

Ling Fei saw Ling Qin pitifully and coughed to get his attention but was unsuccessful. 'Dammit! This little naughty fox!'

He wryly smiles. 'I don't know if this unknown path and against from the story is right... But I'll make sure you can have your own freedom to choose to, since I'm here.'

Since the three of them, Lan Loufeng, Ling Lang, and him, Ling Fei. Read the story he got from Sherwin, they already knew the most things that should happened, because it's out of their influence of what they done in this past three years.

And they started to break down this past three years and tried to remembered that everything that happened to them are still according to the story, with a little tweaks here and there.

Ling Lan was confused that, there should be a 'butterfly effect' even though there's Ling Fei in the picture.

Then Ling Fei started to find the clue about this in the memories of knowledge from Sherwin's orb, and it didn't disappointed them. 

Ling Fei repeated the knowledge to them. "The 'butterfly effects' only works, if the story which the background, characters, or plots was forcefully changed by a person using transmigration way to go or be sent to that story. And something will watched him/her for 24/7 and be chased by it, once he/she touched the things related to the story. But he/she can live freely if decided to get his ass far away from the story plots. And lastly, it can decide for what it will do, if it realized that the trespasser doesn't know why he is in the story in the first place. It might kill the trespasser or let him/her be to live freely far away from the plot or there's a chance that he/she will be registered if deemed necessary in any kind of emergency situations.

If the person went or sent to that story using reincarnation way, the characters and plots will still go on for what it should be in the story, but can be freely influenced by the reincarnated person that added in the story, hence the butterfly effect won't be trigger and the Story's World Will won't chase your ass to chew upon at. Because the World Will of that said story will register you as one of it's children and won't touch you. Once you were born inside of it's story, no matter what you did, it doesn't care a damn about you anymore. 

This 'Story' will be considered independent story if it's the case, just like yours now, and which your sister knows them as 'Fan-fiction' stories.

And that's the reason why the counted known universe was at 1793, too much stories.

This will stop here. If you want to know more about this 'stories' find the hint in this memory orb, a hint that will point you to the next orb."

Lan Loufeng was the happiest of them all. Knowing that, her husband was still alive if nothing influenced his arrival soon, then her family will be complete again. Now, she is crying more that any of the time in her lifetime, and it's the tears of joy.

Ling Lan, knowing the story was hers, she considered it 'hers'. She can accept the 'Ling Lan' to be part of her life in the story but she will be different from the story, that's why her Soulscape was formed like that.

Ling Fei, knowing that he is the added character, he just let it be. Nothing will changed for him after he died and just accept this second life and he will enjoy it to the fullest... this time, really to the fullest...

So, in this three years after the twin's 3rd birth day.

Lan Loufeng spoiled them more in their wishes in their bonding time and let them train to their hearts content but still the terms will stand and stay. But because of the story, her mindset was changed. She decided to train a bit, so she can go with her babies' conversations about cultivation and training, even though what she choose in the end was only a movement technique to master, so if there's an emergency and she deemed that she was a burden, she have a ability to escape or not, buy more time. 'And I can use this to tease my husband later after he arrived.' She thought naughtily.

Ling Lan, used the knowledge from the story to her advantage in the Learning Mind-Space. And add for the fact that she can freely train her physical body to the fullest of what she want's it to be, earlier than the story. So the current and near problems that will collide with her was taken care of.

Ling Fei, knowing that there's a dangerous people near at them. He discussed about this with Ling Lan and Lan Loufeng.

They almost took one day to plan things, with Ling Qin and Ling Nanyi for the changes in the household.

Next day after their meeting. Lan Loufeng calls for the household meeting, including every one.

Ling Fei decided to step up first so he can show them earlier his ability to lead the family, even though he is still a toddler.

"Eherm, can I get your attention please? Thank you and for your silence... Now, that since my mother explained to me that we're not related to the Ling Family anymore, yes that Ling Family, we decided to change some rules and systems within this household... Please, silence, thank you... First. I want to introduce myself, soon to be master of this Household, Ling Fei. (because the mother and her children only knows that Ling Xiao will come back soon) With the permission from the current head family, Lan Loufeng, my mother, and planned this things with chamberlain Ling Qin. 

First, I want you all to know that starting from now, the kids that can still enroll for the school, are free to enroll this year. The past rules for the loyalist will be abolish and the kids can freely choose what school their desire. Because I believe that kids needs to be given a chance to flap their wings and try their best to soar high in the sky... 

Eherm, silence please. I didn't said that we will abandon your kids, I only said that they can have a chance to attend school of their own choices. You all and your kids are still part of this family... Now, the second thing, after finishing their study at school they can choose to be a loyalist of this family or be a free person.

Being a loyalist, you will need to follow some old and new rules inside of this household, and can't never apply for the military system in the nation. You will have a 'voice' inside of this household to give opinions and be part of the meetings in the future. But before you can have a 'voice', there will be a contribution system for that. I will explain them to you later.

Next, being a free person, they can have a choice to or not to join in the military system, it's up to them for what they want to do with their lives. But can't never have a 'voice' inside of this household anymore. They can still send a request and we will help if deemed can be given within the capabilities of the household's power, and this requests will be according to the contribution system too. I will explain this thing too with what I said earlier.

Now, every choices you make that related to the Ling Household, will be personally seen by me for you take an oath, that the only consequence of your actions will only be fault by you and you alone. And that consequence is death. 

You can see me as a cruel boy, but it won't happen in the first place because all I want in this family are, care, kindness, trustworthiness and loyal to each other. If you are one of these. What's the problem of the consequence and be killed by it, if you didn't want to breach the oath in the first place, right? 

I don't care and don't have a room for those lazy people and traitorous bastards in this household. If you're one of them, you can go now, on this very day, and starting tomorrow if you are still one and didn't escape today. Don't blame me for not warning you."

And released a little bit of killing intent that he calculated for the stronger people in crowd to be warned.

1. The Lion and the Mouse

A lion was once sleeping in the jungle when a mouse started running up and down his body just for fun. This disturbed the lion's sleep, and he woke up quite angry. He was about to eat the mouse when the mouse desperately requested the lion to set him free. "I promise you, I will be of great help to you someday if you save me." The lion laughed at the mouse's confidence and let him go.

One day, a few hunters came into the forest and took the lion with them. They tied him up against a tree. The lion was struggling to get out and started to whimper. Soon, the mouse walked past and noticed the lion in trouble. Quickly, he ran and gnawed on the ropes to set the lion free. Both of them sped off into the jungle.

2. Count Wisely

One day, king Akbar asked a question in his court that left everyone in the courtroom puzzled. As they all tried to figure out the answer, Birbal walked in and asked what the matter was. They repeated the question to him.

The question was, "How many crows are there in the city?"

Birbal immediately smiled and went up to Akbar. He announced the answer; he said there were twenty-one thousand, five hundred and twenty-three crows in the city. When asked how he knew the answer, Birbal replied, "Ask your men to count the number of crows. If there are more, then the relatives of the crows must be visiting them from nearby cities. If there are fewer, then the crows from our city must be visiting their relatives who live outside the city." Pleased with the answer, Akbar presented Birbal with a ruby and pearl chain.

Moral of the Story

Having an explanation for your answer is just as important as having an answer.

3. The Boy Who Cried Wolf

In a village, lived a carefree boy with his father. The boy's father told him that he was old enough to watch over the sheep while they graze in the fields. Every day, he had to take the sheep to the grassy fields and watch them as they graze. However, the boy was unhappy and didn't want to take the sheep to the fields. He wanted to run and play, not watch the boring sheep graze in the field. So, he decided to have some fun. He cried, "Wolf! Wolf!" until the entire village came running with stones to chase away the wolf before it could eat any of the sheep. When the villagers saw that there was no wolf, they left muttering under their breath about how the boy had wasted their time. The next day, the boy cried once more, "Wolf! Wolf!" and, again, the villagers rushed there to chase the wolf away.

The boy laughed at the fright he had caused. This time, the villagers left angrily. The third day, as the boy went up the small hill, he suddenly saw a wolf attacking his sheep. He cried as hard as he could, "Wolf! Wolf! Wolf!", but not a single villager came to help him. The villagers thought that he was trying to fool them again and did not come to rescue him or his sheep. The little boy lost many sheep that day, all because of his foolishness.

Moral of the Story

It is difficult to trust people who lie, so it's important to always be truthful.

4. The Fox and the Stork

One day, a selfish fox invited a stork for dinner. Stork was very happy with the invitation – she reached the fox's home on time and knocked at the door with her long beak. The fox took her to the dinner table and served some soup in shallow bowls for both of them. As the bowl was too shallow for the stork, she couldn't have soup at all. But, the fox licked up his soup quickly.

The stork was angry and upset, but she didn't show her anger and behaved politely. To teach a lesson to the fox, she then invited him for dinner the next day. She too served soup, but this time the soup was served in two tall narrow vases. The stork devoured the soup from her vase, but the fox couldn't drink any of it because of his narrow neck. The fox realised his mistake and went home famished.

Moral of the Story

A selfish act backfires sooner or later!

5. The Golden Touch

Once there lived a greedy man in a small town. He was very rich, and he loved gold and all things fancy. But he loved his daughter more than anything. One day, he chanced upon a fairy. The fairy's hair was caught in a few tree branches. He helped her out, but as his greediness took over, he realised that he had an opportunity to become richer by asking for a wish in return (by helping her out). The fairy granted him a wish. He said, "All that I touch should turn to gold." And his wish was granted by the grateful fairy.

The greedy man rushed home to tell his wife and daughter about his wish, all the while touching stones and pebbles and watching them convert into gold. Once he got home, his daughter rushed to greet him. As soon as he bent down to scoop her up in his arms, she turned into a gold statue. He was devastated and started crying and trying to bring his daughter back to life. He realised his folly and spent the rest of his days searching for the fairy to take away his wish.

Moral of the Story

Greed will always lead to downfall.

6. The Milkmaid and Her Pail

Patty, a milkmaid milked her cow and had two full pails of fresh, creamy milk. She put both pails of milk on a stick and set off to the market to sell the milk. As she took steps towards the market, her thoughts took steps towards wealth. On her way, she kept thinking about the money she would make from selling the milk. Then she thought about what she would do with that money.

She was talking to herself and said, "Once I get the money, I'll buy a chicken. The chicken will lay eggs and I will get more chickens. They'll all lay eggs, and I will sell them for more money. Then, I'll buy the house on the hill and everyone will envy me." She was very happy that soon she would be very rich. With these happy thoughts, she marched ahead. But suddenly, she tripped and fell. Both the pails of the milk fell and all her dreams were shattered. The milk spilt onto the ground, and all Patty could do was cry. "No more dream," she cried foolishly!

Moral of the Story

Do not count your chickens before they are hatched.

7. When Adversity Knocks

This is a story that explains how adversity is met differently by different people. There was a girl named Asha who lived with her mother and father in a village. One day, her father assigned her a simple task. He took three vessels filled with boiling water. He placed an egg in one vessel, a potato in the second vessel, and some tea leaves in the third vessel. He asked Asha to keep an eye on the vessels for about ten to fifteen minutes while the three ingredients in three separate vessels boiled. After the said time, he asked Asha to peel the potato and egg, and strain the tea leaves. Asha was left puzzled – she understood her father was trying to explain her something, but she didn't know what it was.

Her father explained, "All three items were put in the same circumstances. See how they've responded differently." He said that the potato turned soft, the egg turned hard, and the tea leaves changed the colour and taste of the water. He further said, "We are all like one of these items. When adversity calls, we respond exactly the way they do. Now, are you a potato, an egg, or tea leaves?"

Moral of the Story

We can choose how to respond to a difficult situation.

8. The Proud Rose

Once upon a time, there was a beautiful rose plant in a garden. One rose flower on the plant was proud of its beauty. However, it was disappointed that it was growing next to an ugly cactus. Every day, the rose would insult the cactus about its looks, but the cactus stayed quiet. All the other plants in the garden tried to stop the rose from bullying the cactus, but the rose was too swayed by its own beauty to listen to anyone.

One summer, a well in the garden dried up and there was no water for the plants. The rose slowly began to wilt. The rose saw a sparrow dip its beak into the cactus for some water. The rose then felt ashamed for having made fun of the cactus all this time. But because it was in need of water, it went to ask the cactus if it could have some water. The kind cactus agreed, and they both got through summer as friends.

Moral of the Story

Never judge someone by the way they look.

9. The Tale of the Pencil

A boy named Raj was upset because he had done poorly in his English test. He was sitting in his room when his grandmother came and comforted him. His grandmother sat beside him and gave him a pencil. Raj looked at his grandma puzzled, and said he didn't deserve a pencil after his performance in the test.

His grandma explained, "You can learn many things from this pencil because it is just like you. It experiences a painful sharpening, just the way you have experienced the pain of not doing well on your test. However, it will help you be a better student. Just as all the good that comes from the pencil is from within itself, you will also find the strength to overcome this hurdle. And finally, just as this pencil will make its mark on any surface, you too shall leave your mark on anything you choose to." Raj was immediately consoled and promised himself that he would do better.

10. The Crystal Ball

Nasir, a small boy, found a crystal ball behind the banyan tree of his garden. The tree told him that it would grant him a wish. He was very happy and he thought hard, but unfortunately, he could not come up with anything he wanted. So, he kept the crystal ball in his bag and waited until he could decide on his wish.

Days went by without him making a wish but his best friend saw him looking at the crystal ball. He stole it from Nasir and showed it to everyone in the village. They all asked for palaces and riches and lots of gold, but could not make more than one wish. In the end, everyone was angry because no one could have everything they wanted. They became very unhappy and decided to ask Nasir for help. Nasir wished that everything would go back to how it was once – before the villagers had tried to satisfy their greed. The palaces and gold vanished and the villagers once again became happy and content.

Moral of the Story

Money and wealth do not always bring happiness.

11. A Bundle of Sticks

Once upon a time, three neighbours living in a village were having trouble with their crops. Each of the neighbours had one field, but the crops on their fields were infested with pests and were wilting. Every day, they would come up with different ideas to help their crops. The first one tried using a scarecrow in his field, the second used pesticides, and the third built a fence on his field, all to no avail.

One day, the village head came by and called the three farmers. He gave them each a stick and asked them to break it. The farmers could break them easily. He then gave them a bundle of three sticks, and again, asked them to break it. This time, the farmers struggled to break the sticks. The village head said, "Together, you are stronger and work better than you do it alone." The farmers understood what the village head was saying. They pooled in their resources and got rid of the pests from their fields.

Moral of the Story

There is strength in unity.

Short Inspirational stories are powerful reads;

The great thing about them is that they’re so easy to digest, and there’s always a moral at the end of the story.

Whether they’re true stories or not is another thing, as many of them are legends supposedly hundreds of years old.

However, the stories that I’m talking about are so powerful and inspirational that many of them really do get you thinking and even leave you speechless at times.

Ten minutes went by and the alpha's waved Isabelle and Zack off. Telling Zack places she was and wasn't allowed to go. However they did not talk about how he would report everything that happened. Zack didn't need to hear it he knew they knew there was more to his last story. It couldn't be like that again it would have to be the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. 

Tonight on the agenda was a trip to no man's land. Which people would have to really stop calling it that sense it was actually a decent place. Isabelle had planned to read to the kids. 

On the way there it was complete silence. Zack didn't talk to Isabelle, and Isabelle didn't talk to Zack. It was an hour drive, why did it have to be a whole hour? As time ticked and silence went on Isabelle felt the room, well the car and noticed that Zack had something on his mind.

"If you have something on your mind you can say it you know."

Zack looked through the back mirror and looked at Isabelle. She was just a kid well an adult but she was innocent, and didn't deserve what was happening to her.

"I'm sorry about your friend."

"Wow that's it I'm sorry about your friend that is so original." 

Zack couldn't tell the atmosphere and felt as if he said the wrong thing. "I'm sorry you told me to...."

"It's okay I'm just joking." Isabelle laughed she was comfortable here with Zack. She didn't know Jack but she felt if she made that choice she wouldn't be. "Thank you for coming with me I know I'm a pain."

"Your not a pain Miss Jade." 

She was so much calmer than when he first met her. He was glad, still he didn't know why she didn't pick his brother. Jack was much more of a womanizer than he was. 

"Thank you for the gratitude, but my brother is way better company than me."

"Your brother, who is your brother? Oh wait Jack, Jack's is your brother. I am so sorry that must be tough."

Zack laughed she was quite the girl "Yeah the worst part about it is we are twins, I died my hair to look different than him. He gets most of the ladies though, a lot more fun."

"That is why you thought I would pick him? I'm not saying you thought this, but I am not a whore. I don't know, I know you. I feel at some level I can trust you so I picked you." Isabelle didn't know what else to say, Jack that name it was so familiar why couldn't she get it out of her head?

"You can trust me Isabelle. Remember that night the gun you asked me not to tell that alpha's I didn't. But they really aren't that bad you know."

Zack hadn't told the alpha's about the gun why? Ignoring her panicking mind about how she knew a Jack, she looked at him through the mirror. His face, his eyes had told her that he was telling the truth. He really didn't tell them.

"Why you had no reason not to?" Everytime she had a serious talk with these people she was always surprised.

"Because you asked. May I ask a question?"

Nodding her head she showed him he could ask his question.

"When you pulled the gun out and at me you your scared. Not just scared but petrified you were so sure I was going to hurt you. I've been around here long enough to know when someone is that scared someone put them there. Is someone after you? Did someone hurt you?" 

Isabelle wanted to answer him, wanted to talk about it, but she couldn't. Zack wasn't strong enough, nobody was. She wasn't even sure if she could or how she survived this long. 

"No offence your a decent guy and everything Zack, but we both know that this isn't just some simple answer. If I tell you you will have to tell the alpha's. I'm not blaming you it's your job. I just can't, I can't trust anyone with that I'm sorry."

Zack understood in some other life maybe they could be friends, and she could lean on them for help. But in some other life would they have even gotten the chance to meet? If what happened to her didn't happen would she be sitting in this car with him? He knew the answer to that was no.

"I know you can't trust anyone right now, but maybe if one day you do you can trust those three. They care about you a lot and they can truly help you."

Even if Isabelle wanted to answer they were there. An hour goes by so much faster when you are distracted. 

"Isa Isa Isa." Liam came running out the building jumping into Isabelle's arms. As other kids came out to meet there librarian who was most definitely late. 

"Sorry I'm late everyone." Carrying Liam Isabelle walked all of the kids an their parents back inside.

After the parents left the kids sat down waiting for story time, but in the background was a man no one knew but Isabelle. Liam getting up he went to Zack and grabbed his handing leading him to the kids circle. Zack was in a black and white suit, black shoes his hair was a dirty blonde. He was the typical stereotypical bodyguard the ear piece even the glasses that luckily he took of before walking in. Isabelle couldn't deny it he was handsome. Everyone that worked for the alpha's were handsome or beautiful. 

"Are you Isabelle's boyfriend?" Liam asked trying to look protective like he was a big brother. 

Zack looked down at Liam and back to Isabelle and laughed. "No I'm just a friend that wants to hear a story, is that okay with you?"

shrugging his shoulders Liam kept a straight face. "I guess so, but I'm watching you."

"Okay, okay everyone story time." 

Isabelle wanted the tension to drop, expectally sense it was between a five year old and a grown man and it worked. The kids screamed in excitement, and then calmed down spreading out on the floor waiting for story time to start.

"Today's story is Winnie the Pooh." 

Each of Isabelle's stories had different meaning this one meant you grabbed a mat and a blanket and pillow and snuggled in. Liam went to grab his blanket when he brought back two. One for him and one for Zack. It wasn't big sense Liam was so small he could only lift so much, but it was the thought that counts.

"I know it's not your size so if you want a different one it's okay." Holding out the blanket Liam smiled

"This will do thank you buddy." 

The heat in this room was good enough he didn't need a blanket, but he was glad that Liam had given it to him. So he wrapped it around his shoulders and couldn't believe how soft it was. Was he really hanging out with children listening to Winnie the Pooh? Even though he thought that something felt safe and comfortable about it. 

Isabelle started but she emphasised a few of the phrases one was  "People say nothing is impossible, but I do nothing all day." 

This made the children laugh, it made him laugh. He finally understood why she spent an hour of her day just sitting reading story's, because for that hour she could feel safe. Safe inside a book where you didn't have to worry about heartbreak, or sorrow. For a moment the world was right. Another part of the book he liked was when Pooh saw a red balloon. He didn't need one, but he really, really wanted it. Making all the other kids want one. 

As each of the kids started to fell asleep Isabelle kept reading. Why wasn't she stopping? Wouldn't she save the rest of the book for the next time they came? He had closed his eyes listening to the story, when she paused from the book to say something.

"I know most of you kids are asleep but the next part of the story is really important. So if any of you are awake please listen, and those of you who are asleep I hope you dream of these very words." Then she continues with the story and read. "If ever there is a tomorrow when were not together there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe. Stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is even if we are apart I'll always be with you. That if there is ever a day when we can't be together keep me in your heart I'll stay there forever." 

It hit him Winnie the Pooh had so much meaning, and that little bear was a lot smarter than people have him credit for. With those words even he fell asleep.

"Zack, Zack." Liam was shaking Zack awake. 

"Huh?" Zack had fallen asleep shit was everything okay? He rubbed his eyes and saw the kids giggling. Looking down he saw he took off his jacket to use as a pillow, and had started to drool. He looked at Isabelle even she seemed amused.

"Okay kids let's leave Zack alone. I got a few more things for you kids before your parents take you home."

 Zack didn't even notice the adults in the room. Getting up Zack brushed himself off and walked to Isabelle's side.

"Thanks for being here." 

Isabelle whispered to Zack so it wasn't clear did she just thank him?

"Your welcome Isabelle."

"Can you help me with something?"

Nodding his head Isabelle wispered something to Zack. Who was more than happy to help. Going into the back room waiting for Isabelle's signal.

"Okay everyone sit back down yes grab your parents hands and take a seat. I got a surprise." The kids sat in there spot with there parents and waited patiently. "Before we start there is one more part of the story that I left out, because I wanted your parents hear. One part of the story that is most important to remember is that every hug is the right size. So give your parents a hug."

This is why the kids came she was so fun, and caring the parents loved that. Hugging their kids they even couldn't wait to see the suprise their kids got. The suprises were never big, but special.

"On the count of three we are going to ask Zack the helper to bring out the surprise. One, Two, Two and a Half, and Three."

"ZACK PLEASE BRING OUT THE SUPRISE!!!"

Everyone asked in unison and that was his que. Coming out of the back room he held heart red shaped balloons. Each kid got to have a red balloon like Pooh in the story. Each kid as they got one explain the significance to their parents. It was once again a perfect ending to a beautiful day. 








As her smile appeared a frown came from the guy in front of her. "What is so funny?" He questioned as he took a knife and traced it on her knee "Hmmm what is so funny?"

The petite woman, beautiful women sitting tied up only smiled more. It didn't matter that the man was stronger than her, nor did it matter that she might not make it out of this alive. All that mattered is that she held on just until they got there. 

"You are." She started to laugh, "You think that by torturing me I will tell you anything, that I will give up those that I love? If so you are dead wrong."

His voice was never warm to begin with, but up until now there was a softness in his voice. Used to get most women to give him the information he wanted, but it turned cold and chilling.

Leaning up to speak in her ear he whispered "Most people I have tortured have said the same thing, and I have broken each and everyone of them. There is nothing special about you, you will break just like the rest." With those chilling words he quit messing around, and plunged the knife into her leg. 

She did not scream, instead she closed her eyes begging that she could reach her mates through the bond. Hoping they would come and save her. Right as the knife was pulled out to be used to make this young girl scream, both of them could hear the sound of bullets. Leaving two emotions in the room, one of satisfaction and happiness. The other one of terrior as he had kidnapped her. 

"What's wrong, worried?" The girl grinned through the pain.

"Not in the slightest." The man turned hiding his face from her. 

Before he could think of what to do the door opened. It was not opened slowly, but so hard, and fast that if it had received anymore force the door would be off it's hinges. Standing in the doorway was a man with a red suit and brown hair. The man doing the torturing tried to take off only to turn back in horror, as the man turned into a wolf and ripped him to shreds.

She didn't know who stepped in the room, but she knew they were here for her, by the way the man screamed in agony. Her back was faced to the guest so all she could do was wait. Wait for him to save her, when he stepped in front of her, her heart melted.

"Chase." It was the only word she could muster with all the pain. 

He cut through her restraints, and lifted her in his arms. "Isabelle stay with me baby, I'm here just stay awake." He begged but worry set in, as his women was growing unconscious in his arms. 

He was finally here, finally here to save her, but was it to late? Maybe had she never fallen in love with him, or the others she wouldn't be on the edge of death.

This book takes you on a journey of four lives. Isabelle the omega who had her heart broken, and believed every last alpha was the same, all being cruel.

While the other three were like brothers, Cole the leader, the other two being Dylan, and Chase. They lived life to the fullest, and the darkest. Once caring about people, only to destroy the ones they loved in the end. The three of them decided to no longer care.

But when they meet a beautiful thief, they realized she did not only break into there house, but into there hearts. Could she be different, and survive there world, or would she be doomed by the past?

Its a beautiful afternoon running and laughing around the house with my wife and children. I stopped and rest and just looked at my perfect little family, I just believe that it has been twenty years since I fell in love with my wife and that in just twenty years that we have a family together already. "My love, what are you thinking about, hmm?", turning to see my wife standing behind me. "You know its been almost around twenty years, and yet it feels like it was yesterday when we met", she just smiled at me. "Ryan Lynn you can be very soft sometimes but it's one of the things that I love about you", I grabbed my wife's hand and just smiled, she knows that she's the reason why I'm a little softy. If I haven't met her sooner I will probably be here being a parent or married. Just let me tell you one thing I have never been in love before not until I met her and now I know the meaning of love. "My lovely, you are the reason why I'm soft before we met I never knew what love is or the true meaning of it, once you walked in my life you showed me that, it took us so long to meet that it was somewhat the perfect time and perfect place for us to love each other", she nodded agreeing.
"Mama, mom, can we please go to the park please", this is why I despise having kids they have so much energy, thank goodness that by the time it's ready to go back home the little monsters are so tired that they straight the sleep in the car. "Not today lovebug", I shook my head, " Why mama? "one of our daughters asked. I had to think, think Rye think, oh gosh I can't believe that I am about to do this. Well here goes- I looked at my wife. She gave me the look, the look that says don't you dare, I mean it really doesn't scare me but its the only way to keep them occupied. "Please hun, please", I gave her the puppy eyes, what? its the only way to have her agree to it. "Fine", she groans, I did a little dance in my head. I called our kids and told them to put on their pajamas and come back, a pretty good idea since its almost the evening, and the kids usually get ready for bed around this time.
"Are you sure about this Ryan?", I nodded my head. "I'm sure honey, the kids been asking all this time on how met and I think its time to tell them, they're old enough to comprehend, plus its a pretty good bedtime story to tell even though it's quite a long story to tell.", wrinkling her nose as a response. "But- alone time, we can have alone time also.", I quickly added. "Well if only they hurry up and get their butts down here, we won't have enough alone time if they're not back down here in ten seconds.", my wife responded while walking towards me. I looked ay her and yelled for the kids to be back down in ten seconds, it wasn't long for the kids to come downstairs and sit on the couch. "Mama, why did we have come back downstairs after putting on our pajamas?", asked the oldest. "Well, remember how you guys always ask me and mom about how we met?", I started off waiting for their response. "Well duh and mom always say that we have to wait until we're older because we couldn't comprehend or something like that.", I nodded. I explained to them why their mom told them that, mainly she's scared that they will tell their friends and the friends will tell someone else. The town we live in is very small and once a rumor sparks the whole town knows, just like what happened to me when I was younger, well kind of.
"Alright now, you have to pinky promise both mom and me that you will never tell a soul about the story you are about to hear", we both hold out our pinky fingers. "Mama are you serious? we're not gonna tell anyone", the oldest pouted. "Oh? Well, I guess you aren't ready to hear a story before going to bed. I thought its the least I can do as a parent to tell you how mom and I met instead of a boring bedtime story like the three little pigs Miss Thang.", my wife stifled a laugh. "Mama is right we can just read the three little pigs other than telling our story of how we can a family", I nodded. They all groaned and said fine and we all linked pinkies together. "Okay sit back, relax because my dearest children this is going to be a long, I am warning you now if you can't stay still through the whole story you can now leave but once I start there's no going back", I looked and pointed at all of them. "Mama, we know just tell us how you and mom met", we both laughed at our daughter's remarks. "Okay missy okay.", my wife came and sat next to and held my hand.

"This is where it all begins"

Hi, my name is Ryan and I fell in love with my math teacher. I know I shouldn't but trust me I really tried, its not as I did it purpose or anything it just happened. Plus on the bright side, it's my Senior Year at Lakewood High School and I'll turn 18 in no time. So, no worries right?

A mother and her 10 year old son passed by, the son knew gabriel who was also his playmate. 

"Gabriel! Are you selling something?" Clint asked while his mom followed along.

"Yes! This is called buchhis! dad made them today and they're so delicious!" gabriel said.

"How much is it then?"

"4 fot $50." Gwyneth answered.

The mother took a look on the buchhis and was surprised from the brown colored and beautiful aroma. For some odd reason, the bucchis looked wonderful and fantastic to look at, She had to swallow several times to break her temptation to eat them right away.

Seeing the signage along with the table, She saw a man she assumed who was the father sitting leasurely on the side with his eyes closed.

"Hey we are going to buy. Can you wake your father up?" The mother asked the two kids.

The two kids blinked their eyes and looked at the lady.

"Father promised us pork barbeque tomorrow so no need to wake him up, how many will you buy mam?" Gwyneth answered while gabriel prepares a paper bag.

"Give us one order, here no need for change. Keep the rest of it" The mother gave $20 to the kids.

Gwyneth saw the money and with her large eyes "It's $50 per order mam, you're $30 short."

"Ha? You can buy bucchis for $5 a piece downtown!" the mother exclaimed.

"But ours is different! Dad worked for this all morning!" Gwyneth answered back.

The mother looked at the kids before looking on the man by the side. She knows the guy named ray as a father who works hard but doesn't work smart.  Aside from living on a shabby home, They've known ray deep in debt for the couple of years.


The mother shook her head and held her son by the hand, "Let's go son, next time don't hang around with kids being taught how to be opportunistic."

The kid left with his mother while looking back on his friend and sister, his eyes showing how sorry he was for his mother's atitude. 

Gabriel waived his hand while he looked on his friend taken away. For some odd reason, his chest hurts when his friend's mother called his dad as an opportunist.

As he looked on his father who sitting near them, he felt that his father had a different temperment after the accident, before he would be drinking after work and go home drunk. He would then blame all of the things happening to them to his mom but now.. dad changed.

A warm feeling covered gabriel , unknown to him the mana inserted by his dad began to beam and emit a faint glow towards his veins.

Ray opened his eyes as he felt the faint mana around him and as he saw his son who was looking at him. He saw how the mana slightly pulsed and covered his son's vein silently.

Night came and no one purchased any bucchis. Ray was not worried that the bucchis might rot and cannot be eaten as a portion of mana was one of the ingredients on making the bucchis.

He wrapped them on a clean paper cloth and put them on the refrigerator as he prepares sweet tomatoes for dinner.

Teresa had a pale face looking at the bucchis unsold. She really not smiling now as the last of their money was spent on bucchis, If she would known that it would not sell she could've stop Ray on making those bucchis, She knows it's delicious but it's just too expensive. who would ever buy those golden drown oh so delicious bucchis.. She spat an angry glare towards her husband as her temper nearing to explode.

Ray felt  Teresa's glare and felt how mad his wife is, the kids are in front of them right now so he knows teresa is just holding back. As far as he can remember, It's been no fighting in front of the kids policy since Day 1.

Ray gulped as he swallowed his courage and smiled to the kids to get away from Teresa's glare.

"You know when I was a kid, we used to eat salt, sprinkles of vinegar and rice when we had no money." Ray said while he ate his fill. "Endure, It's been what we're doing and we will continue to do so."

"Daddy.." Evangeline approached and hugged Ray. 

Ray warmly received her daughter and hugged back, evangeline was still 3 years old but her sweetness towards her father will not diminish until he claimed glory on his past life.

Seeing that his daughters and son had finished the sweet potatoes he felt pity as he had gone back in time but cannot change his family's poverty.

The simple family finished their poor dinner and Ray carried both his daughters towards their bed while Teresa and their baby stayed at the dinner table. Gabriel was already washing the dishes.

He tucked both his daughters and saw their old television, His family had a tv a long time ago but it suddenly stopped working and he was not able to send it to the repair shop. 

Seeing the old equipment, tears welled up on Ray's eyes as this was their first investment on his salary. 

"Daddy can you tell us a story?" Gwyneth asked whike she tucked in ready for bed.

"Yeah daddy, please sorry!" Evangeline motioned.

"It's story not sorry.." Ray answered smiling then wiped up the welling tears on his eyes.

"What story do you want.. Cinderella? Goldilocks?"

"No daddy, we want something new." Gwyneth requested.

"I want dagons,fairies!" Evangeline requested.

Ray sat besides the two of them, covered them with  their old blanket and proceeded to tell an old story from one of his adventures before.

"Well I have the perfect story for you two.Listen, It's not dagon but dragons all right?"

"Dragons!" The two exclaimed.

"All right so this happened when the great mighty general crossed the milky way into the andromedas, to find and get the fabled fruits of light. the fruits were so special that if anyone could eat them they would gain the power of light and control the dragon of light that guards the entrance! The general served a human royalty who's power is so great that the royalty doesn't need any support or army. One day the General and the king found the fruits and the tree of light near the end of the galaxy.."

Ray proceeded to tell the story and was like lost in time as he tries to recall the past enmity between him and the fabled royal.

When ray was halfway through, Teresa and gabriel had already arrived and listened to his story as well.

"Bad royalty!" Gwyneth stood up and poised with her arms crossed.

"The general lives!" As evangeline stood up as well and began to circle like a flying superhero.

"Crappy story ray, who would believe that kind of story!" Teresa said, no longer angered by the events today as she pinched Ray's side lightly.

Ray chuckled and paired his stories with actions as well.

Gabriel just sat by and listened to his father's story and with knees buckled together listened intently. His eyes brimming with curiosity and fantasy.

Cross returns back in time to save his family! His dao heart full of regrets and he strive to make it up to them.

"Age is just a number, It is my sword that rules the cosmos!"

"You destroy, I create!"

"If you got the skill make it flourish, if you got an opportunity. what have you done about it?"
