Three stories telling of the relationships between humans and dragons, and the hope they give each other.

In a land no one knows or cares about, a civil war has been fought for years, against those who wish to use the power of dragons to gain immortality and those who wish that the dragons be free.

But these stories aren’t about the war itself.

These stories are about the consequences the war has had on both humans and dragons. A slave finds a dragon that has been scarred and tortured by tear-harvesters. A young woman reluctantly agrees to care for her deceased brother’s dragon mount to provide for her younger siblings. A dragon whose child was murdered by hunters must guide a mute human child back to his own kind.

Three stories. Three chances of a new hope.

Generations have passed since the Dragons went into hiding. Humans have all but forgotten about their existence, having nothing but legends and stories. Humans believe them to be just that, stories. Until the Dragons re-emerge, their King reigniting an ancient war. Can one young Dragon put an end to the madness of the Glided Dragon King  and bring new peace to Dragons and humans alike?

"Lalala!"
"This is my house! What do you think?"
The little Lolita was very lively and a little bit chatty. That's probably how Brass Dragons were. They were a bunch of very talkative dragons. The Chaotic camp was totally different from the Lawful camp, so often there would be jokes like these; this lovely little Lolita, who was just fighting Soran a few moments back was now chattering away. It was as though the two had been friends who have known each other for a while. This made Soran feel a bit weird.
The little Lolita brought Soran into her den, which was a huge cave.
Brass Dragons liked dry and warm environments. The whole cave was close to the nearby volcano. Occasionally, they could eat some of that magma.
Brass Dragon's could eat whatever.
There was no treasure in the dragon cave, which reminded the small dimensional gap she opened. This little Lolita seemed to have a good level of spellcasting, which meant that it was highly likely she had a dimensional space where she stores things.
This was some high-grade magic!
All the half-planes were grown from these small dimensional gaps.
"Why don't you talk?"
"It seems you're pretty powerful! You must have gone through a lot, huh? Why don't you tell me about it?"
"Do you know how to tell stories?"
"I like to listen to human stories, but why do the Dragons always get defeated by humans in the end? You, humans, are so weak. You could die with a pat on the back! The heroes in those stories are weak too!"
"Hmm?"
"Your curved sword seems powerful! Is it some treasure? Let me see."
"You're so boring!"
Why won't you talk! Do you have anything good on you?"
"Hey, hey, hey!"
"Talk! Talk! You're not a mute!"
The little Lolita kept chattering all the way, but Soran didn't answer her. He only nodded or shook his head occasionally.
"Poff."
The little Lolita sat on a stone bed after she arrived then asked, "Hey! You! What's your name?"
Soran replied, "Soran."
"Soran, huh?" the little Lolita tidied up her hair and said, "Strange name. My name is SiSi."
SiSi?
This obviously was not her real name.
Dragons all had long names, especially with her status, her name would be extra long.
"Well,"
The little Lolita stood up, smiled, and said, "You can also call me Alice. But I prefer SiSi."
Alice.
A very common name. Probably millions of people had that name.
"Do you know how to tell stories?"
The little Lolita stared at Soran with her beautiful golden eyes. Her pupils seemed to be changing colors; sometimes, they looked pale gold, sometimes they looked brass in color. The little Lolita looked at Soran with an eager expression, eyes wide, and begged, "Tell me some good stories? I haven't heard a story in a long time! "
"Why don't you tell me about your adventures."
Soran looked at her reluctantly and said slowly, "That Elemental Stone is very important to me. How would you give it to me?"
The little Lolita's eyes looked around.
The red stone appeared in her hand, she gently tossed it and said seriously, "tell me a story first. If the story is very interesting, I will consider whether I would give it to you."
"Hey! I'm a dragon, okay!"
"If you want something from me, shouldn't you pay the price?"
Soran let out a sigh.
After some consideration, he replied, "Fine. I'll tell you a story then."
Telling stories.
Vivian also liked to listen to stories when she was a child. It's not hard for Soran, but it's not easy to come up with a story that a dragon would be interested in. He could only make it up now and see if she would be satisfied with it.
After some thinking.
A thought came into Soran's mind. He quickly conceived a story that had a dragon as the leading role. Recently, his eloquence has improved a lot. He thought through the story in his mind and soon came up with a story that seemed old-fashioned but should be very attractive to the little Lolita. He even thought about the framework of the story. The characters in the story were basically dragons, and the last villain was the evil and sinister 'Catastrophic Dragon.'

These dragons often conspire with immortal creatures, sometimes allies, sometimes their masters, weaving a conspiracy network of deception.)

The mid-air battle had alerted many. However, this level of spellcaster level was beyond that of the ordinary pirate.
Gloria's figure was suspended in the air. Nearly half of the Tarot Cards around her had become dim. Her white fingertips still held the dark golden 'Queen,' but she didn't seem to want to use it at all. Gloria's long silver white hair was flying with the wind, and she was not injured at all. On the contrary, the red dragon Duchess was seriously injured, but she didn't seem to care about the injuries at all.
"Finish her."
The fallen witch stood in a shadow and looked at the Duchess. "She's nothing but an image."
Simulacrum.
A level 8 spell.
The spell creates an image that had part of the spellcaster's powers—an improved version of the spell Astral Projection.
The Duchess did not come here as her real self. It seemed that she learned a lot after the battle.

An amazing flash of lightning fell from the sky. Since Gloria had reached the realm of legends, even some low or medium grade spells were powerful.
"Hehe! That's all for tonight."
The Duchess seemed to have given up completely. She looked at Gloria and said playfully, "this is just the beginning! I will come back for you! "

There was a strange blush on her face; her breath seemed to be a little short; her full chest was slightly undulating as if she was trying to endure something. After a while, she seemed to be unable to resist it. She raised her white fingers and brushed over her chest. Then she let out a moan.
As if there was an electric shock!
The blush on her face became more and more obvious, and her body trembled slightly. She slowly put down her hands and murmured, "It's the time!"
"I must perform the forbidden ritual to please the Queen of Succubus."
"Or else, the imprint she left on me will give me more agony!..."
The fallen witch hesitantly took out a black silk whip, and then she slowly took off her clothes, revealing her delicate, tall, and slender body. She gently clenched her teeth and waved the whip toward her white and delicate back. With a crisp sound, a clear red mark appeared immediately.

The Time of Troubles has begun.

After listening to what Gawain said, Victoria nodded slightly whereas Duke Baldwin raised his brows and said, "Do I have to excuse myself?"
"It doesn't matter." Gawain took a glass of red wine from the tray the chamberlain was holding and turned around to look at Victoria. "It's about dragons."
"That's indeed a rumour." Victoria said emotionlessly, her tone was as cold as the wind in the north. People who did not know her might even find her unapproachable. "I've sent people to investigate about it, other than a drunkard, no one saw any trace of the so-called gigantic dragon on that day."
"I'm not talking about that time but for these centuries in the north." Gawain looked at the female duke's eyes and continued, "From my death till today, how many rumours have there been about the gigantic dragon in the north?"
Victoria's brows raised slightly and Duke Baldwin looked at her with curiosity and said, "If you put it that way… it seems like the stories about 'gigantic dragons' are 'specialties' from the north?"
"It is true that there are occasional stories about dragons in the north and there are even small groups worshipping dragons but those are basically just superstitious beliefs." Victoria shook her head. "The north is mountainous and there are often snowstorms in the valleys and mountains. The people living on the mountains view those snowstorms as the roar of the dragons. The north lies next to the Sacred Dragon Kingdom where people call themselves the descendents of the gigantic dragons and worship dragons openly. The people living in the mountains are influenced by them and it is natural for weird stories to spread. In fact, the Wilder Clan hasn't seen a real dragon after living in the north for 700 years, those stories are fictitious."
"However, a real dragon has appeared now and it flew past my eyes." Gawain said dryly.
"I will inform you if there's really a dragon." Victoria said emotionlessly and she seemed to smile. "I thought you were going to invite me for a dance just now."
"I better not because I'm not good at this. It has been 700 years and I don't know how modern dance is like." Gawain shook his head with a smile and waved his hands. "Please go ahead and enjoy yourselves, talking to a 700 year old living fossil like me is boring, I can look around on my own."
The two dukes kept a straight face at the same time (Victoria kept a straight face the whole time) because they usually said that to the juniors or young nobles during banquets. It had been so many years since someone said that to them and they seemed to go back to their childhood days…
Yet they could not rebut…
Gawain sighed with relief in his heart when he saw the two dukes leaving.
It was indeed not so simple. When he heard the Duke of the North talking about the appearance of the gigantic dragon during the meeting, he thought that it was an important clue.
The dragons had left this land for too long, it had been a few thousand years and there were no clear records about the appearance of dragons. It had been so long that those powerful creatures were becoming mythical creatures to most people. However, for Gawain who had been hanging in the sky for years, dragons were familiar to him.
After witnessing a gigantic dragon, he organised his memory and counted the number of times the dragons had appeared. After filtering once, he realised that most dragons were from the north.
No matter how long the time interval was, be it a thousand or more than ten thousand years, regardless of whether it was one dragon or a group of dragons, they all came across the mountain range in the north before entering the earth. Every time gigantic dragons appeared, they seemed to have a clear destination and headed straight towards the deepest part of the earth. They would leave immediately after their mission was done and wasted no time at all.
It was a pity that Gawain had a limited view in the sky and he could only see part of the land and a bit of the coastline in the south. He was unsure of where the north extended to, hence he could not conclude whether the dragons appeared behind the mountain range in the north or from further places in the faraway seas.
However, he had a feeling that the gigantic dragons would appear again.
Gawain and his people did not stay in the capital for too long and they departed on the third day.
The help which the King had promised them would arrive on a later date: the rations could not be transported on land because half of it would be consumed by the people and horses. If the rations were to be transported by the river, they had to wait for half a month for the water level in the Duoergong river in the Plains of the Holy Spirits to rise. It took time to gather a hundred-men team of craftsmen and apprentices and it was mainly about waiting for different associations to send out those anti-social and unlucky people with no backgrounds. Then select the 100 most unlucky people to form the team and this process was rather time consuming. Ensuring that these people could embark on the journey before the rations were loaded onto the ship was considered incredibly efficient.
Gawain could not wait for all this because he had finally gotten the right to pioneer which he wanted. There were many plans in his mind awaiting to be implemented and he could not wait to leave the capital after receiving the big pile of documents from the King.
They took their own sweet time on their way here but rushed on the way back and Gawain could not wait to fly straight back. At this moment, Gawain genuinely envied the "teleportation magic" in those fantasy novels, only if he could teleport and he could reach home immediately by opening a door without all the hassle.
Unfortunately, although such magic existed in the continent of Loren, it was not as advanced as those described in stories. The magics used by different communities were basically about hitting someone with a fireball or throwing compressed Ao energy in someone's face. There were records of teleportation and space storage magic but they were generally myths. For instance, those first legendary elves who had disappeared long ago were able to teleport. Some people said that the dragon language magic, which was the origin of many magics in the world had records about the magic of space…
It was a pity that no one had ever seen it.
On the other end, the Duke of the North, Victoria Wilder had returned to her castle in the north, the Bitter Winter Castle.
The dukes safeguarding the four parts of the kingdom could not leave their territory for a long period of time. Although the situation in the north was stable, someone had to take control. Therefore, Victoria Wilder left the Silver Castle and returned to her territory by riding the fastest gryphon after her first meeting with Gawain.

"The pioneer of the country has been revived, that legendary Gawain Cecil." Victoria said with a low voice and she continued, "He looks exactly the same, his Sword of Pioneers is also the same, I used the lie detection magic boldly and it turns out that the things he said were all true."
The woman who seemed like a maidservant rebutted Victoria. "Highly skilled liars can hide from lie detection and even if the magic was effective, it may not work all the time. There are exceptions for magics and you can't be over reliant on it."
Victoria shook her head. "Maji, I still have my intuition."
"Intuition…" The woman who was called Maji murmured. "What do you intend to do?"
"That hero who revived didn't seem like he wants to interfere with the current political system and he only came for the permanent right to develop regions." Victoria talked about her experience in the capital emotionlessly. "What I'm concerned about is his attitude towards the King, initially I thought that this pioneer would take the legitimacy of the lineage of the Moen Clan seriously and confront the royal family about it. That mighty man wore armour, held the Sword of Pioneers and looked afar as if those sorrowful eyes could transcend time and space and see the future. This made Victoria think about how he revived after 700 years and she shuddered.
"Danger?" Maji's voice came from the back.
"Take down the portrait of duke Cecil." Victoria said drily. "It wouldn't be appropriate to hang it here anymore."
"Take it down? May I?"
"…He told me that himself, he said that he is not used to being hung onto the wall when he is still alive." Victoria sounded tired. "He is our senior and our ancestor's close friend, I have to listen to him."
"Okay then." Maji nodded because she had no other alternative and walked towards the portrait to take it down.
At that moment, Victoria spoke again. "Oh, Maji, you are from the mountains right?"
"Yes."
"Then do you know about the… dragons? What do you think of them?"
The woman with black hair and eyes stood with her back facing Victoria, she remained silent for a while and shook her head. "Those are just ridiculous myths."
"But there really was a dragon which appeared in the south at the Cecil territory."
"Did it?" Maji took Gawain Cecil's portrait down and continued, "Then it probably isn't something good."

There exist 3 types of dragon...
The Land Dragons, or Drakes... Less developed, lesser, are basically beasts that can be hunted...
The Eternal Dragons... Intelligent, able to speak in Solarin Language... They have great power, and have the ability to bless individuals with their Insignia...
The Celestial Dragons... Powerful, majestic, fascinating... They have a unique power to create stars and planets ... They can, but they do not leave a Insignia for mortals...
And North is one of them... He is a small star, shining with hope and dreams ... His parents gave the surname Sirius, so that he may shine and be a guiding star for future generations...
He lives on a planet in the Imperial territory ... B-310279, called "Shania", an urban planet, composed mainly of plains and lakes... When is night, North aways go to the plains and look at the sky;

"Ao's Light (the name of the Nuclear Star) was one of the most valuable trophies ever acquired by my ancestors from the orcs during olden days. It was one of the most heroic artifacts that made the royal family so great. It was also a symbol of the dignity of the Royals and the Imperial Kingdom. Hence, it was placed in the middle of the Central Glorious Main Hall as a decorative piece."
Upon learning that the Nuclear Star had been detonated, Israel had a pained expression on his face. "Even though Igor has sent the emissary of the God of Life to perform the Divine Recovery Ritual for me, I was merely lending the Nuclear Star out."
After all, it was indeed his fault for detonating the Nuclear Star. Hence, Joshua kept his mouth shut and remained silent, he did not say anything at all. The Emperor seemed to have recovered his normal mood after sighing regretfully.
"Even though that was the case, I've already expected that it will not return unscratched the moment I lent it."
Israel shook his head and spoke remorsefully, "However, if the Church of the Seven Gods was the one who is responsible for its destruction, I might still be able to give them a good reason to get more compensation from them. The Emperor knew very well that the expedition party that crossed the realm to get into the Dark Abyss did not have many options when they were faced with a legion of abyssal dragons. Now that they were done talking and Israel had confirmed that the warrior had recovered, Israel was ready to leave the underground fortress. The great legion of the berserk dragons had yet to retreat. The Emperor was needed at the center of the Sacred Mountain so that he could continue to confront the three Legendary-tier dragons with Igor and the Nature's Magister. Even though their enemies had lost their deadly weapon 'Longsword of the Ashlands', their forces were still as deadly as ever.
Right before the Emperor was about to take leave, he suddenly recalled something important, "Oh, right. There's also this."
Holding his giant dragon lance in one hand, Israel broke the dimensional space with his other. The fragments of the world wrapped around his arm as he reached his hand into the small crack he tore on the dimensional space in front of him. After that, he took something out from the other side and put it in front of Joshua and the others in the room. Israel had an odd expression on his face. "This should be your trophy for winning the battle. Although he came to the Sacred Mountain on his own initiative, be it me or Igor, both of us believe that you should be the one keeping this."
After he finished what he wanted to say, the Legendary warrior took a step forward as the dimensional space around him shattered. A blue dimensional door appeared from the void and opened. After that, the Emperor vanished into the dimensional door, a moment later, the door vanished too.
Joshua lowered his head after watching the Emperor leave the room through the dimensional door.
A pale, blue-haired 'elf' emerged slowly from the floor filled with shredded pieces of wood as he slowly stood up. He seemed somewhat overwhelmed. However, he understood his current situation.
That elf appeared just like the other elves. He was handsome and beautiful. His pair of eyes were watery blue, just like the color of the sky. However, after taking a closer look, one would notice that those eyes actually belonged to a dragon. He lifted his head and looked at the warrior, forcing a smile. Then, he gently nodded and said, "Ah, greetings…"
He sounded as if he was about to cry.
"Oh, it is 'Ah'. He actually survived all that?"
The divine armaments took a look at the elf, they lowered their heads and began discussing about him. However, their voices were crystal clear to everyone in the room. As for Black, she only lifted her head and took a peek at the blue dragon with her eyes that were filled with curiosity.
"Nice you meet you, Suralno." After nodding his head, the warrior patted Ying and Ling's head to indicate that they should stop talking now. "So, are you completely surrendering then?"
Sweeping his eyes over the blue-haired elf, Joshua could recognize the presence and attributes of the person before him. That blue elf was obviously the human form of that Blue Dragon Suralno. Even Ying and Ling could also tell that with a simple good look at the blue-haired elf. In his past life, Joshua had met this elf many times. The blue dragons loved freedom. They would sometimes descend from the sky because of some reasons and transform into their human form to travel across the great continent. Their most favorite form would be elven bards like the one Suralno was in right now. They loved to sing songs and poems about what they have heard and seen in the sky in front of everyone.
Naturally, Suralno had completely surrendered—because of Ying and Ling, he was heavily injured and could not heal from it. The legion of berserk dragons never had any Ritual-grade healing abilities among themselves that could heal that sort of wounds. In order to prevent himself from dying a worthless death, the blue dragon could only find his own way to the defense of the Sacred Mountain, reveal his own identity and surrender himself to his enemies.
Suralno's nickname, the [Windrider], was also quite renowned on the Sacred Mountain. After being suppressed by a few Supreme-tier champions and locked into the underground dungeon, the clergy had also confirmed the truth that Joshua had wounded Suralno so badly that it had to surrender. They aided the blue dragon to stop himself from bleeding out. Then they locked the blue dragon in the dungeon as they waited for the order from higher up before they could start the interrogation on it. After all, it was a Supreme-tier dragon. Regardless of whether they wanted to sentence the blue dragon to death or to make an ally out of him, those decisions were not the soldiers' to make.
Joshua noticed that it seems that the decision had been placed in his hand. He was the responsible one to make the decision now.
So, after looking at the blue dragon from head to toe, his horrific red eyes starred at Suralno giving Suralno a chill down his spine.
Suralno's surrender did not come as a surprise. Other than his injuries, he was no longer able to return to the Pentashade dragons because of his betrayal to his own kind. Although Suralno really had no idea where Evian was located at, all the dragons would believe that it was him who had revealed the identity of the red dragon and its mission to their enemies. Or else Joshua would never have found Evian and forced him to his demise.
In a sense, in the way how dragons see it, it was Suralno who destroyed the plan of the Pentashade dragons. It was a crime never to be forgiven by the Pentashade dragons.
By that time, the Legendary-tier dragon Rheeti was the first to hunt Suralno down. And by that time, even though the continent was vast and huge, there was no longer any area in the sky that Suralno could fly and glide freely.
Joshua nodded when he was sure that the blue dragon no longer behaved in a hostile manner towards him. He gestured at Ying and Ling to sit at the side and rest first. Then he spoke solemnly. "Suralno, you will never be able to return to the camp of the Giant Dragons, nor will you be able to move across the continent freely. Therefore, do you intend to stay at the Sacred Mountain? Or do you intend to follow me back to the Imperial City after the war is over?"
The warrior had always been very blunt. The blue dragon had lived so many lives as an ordinary human being. He had met this sort of existence more times than he could count. So, he had already gotten used to that way of speaking. He immediately responded to the warrior, saying, "Return to the Imperial City with you."
His reply was simple and powerful, as if he had already made up his mind long before the warrior asked him. Suralno knew that even if he surrendered himself completely to the human, the people of the Sacred Mountain, which had been under siege by the berserk dragon forces, would never truly be able to accept a dragon living with them, let alone a dragon that had a part in invading their territory. On the other hand, the blue dragon could not even do anything before he was bashed up badly by the warrior. He did not even get to cause any damage to anything. Even though it was truly embarrassing, he was definitely not going to be despised by the people in the Imperial City as long as he could express his sincerity and his loyalty to the Imperial Kingdom.
The system information about the blue dragon popped up into Joshua's vision. However, the warrior did not look closely at those information. He roughly confirmed that Suralno's status had indeed turned from enemy to neutral. There was even an option to recruit him or not. The warrior nodded and said, "Alright then. Coincidentally, there's a bunch of baby dragons that need nurturing back in my territory. Perhaps I do need a full-fledged dragon to assume the role."
Joshua turned around and looked at the black draconic girl who was laying on the side of the bed. He stiffened up. Then the warrior sighed and said, "It seems that I have thought too much… and it seems that I can't really hope that she could do something about it…"
The moment after Suralno heard what Joshua said, his face hardened. Then he cautiously asked the warrior, "Lord Count, may I know how many baby dragons you have?"
"Probably… a dozen of them… perhaps twenty," Joshua shrugged. He could not specifically recall exactly how many baby dragons he had. "Other than that, there's also some daemon mounts. Your job is to nurture all of them. Rest assure that it is not really a hectic job. You will find it easy and relaxing."
Twenty baby dragons? The type of dragon where you only need two of them to annihilate the entire lair of your enemy? The type of horrific creatures that could weaken the nerves of the master of the dragon lair once they had reached a certain number? Where did Joshua the Dragonslayer manage to get so many of those baby dragons?
Suralno did not feel relaxed at all, not even by a tiny bit. He was shocked and astonished at the same time–ever since he was born, he had been flying around the world to travel and experience life in every corner of the world. Yet, he had never met a mother dragon before, let alone taking care of baby dragons. Basically speaking, he was completely inexperienced. The latest battle report of the war with the berserk dragons had spread to the fortresses in the south. It even spread across the Imperial City, the Northern lands and the other territories of the nobles who possessed significant strength.

In front of her were the two daughters of Vale Dani and Brandon. One of them was hugging a pillow while the other hugged the cushion. They listened intently to the story told by the young lady.
"…Eredar knew that the war was over now. At least the war had ended for him. However, it was just the beginning for some people."
Taking a deep breath, the Artificial Intelligence closed the book in her hands. After spending three hours of her afternoon, she was finally done with the long memoir of a war called the [Legend of the Wind]. As the main character of the story, the half-elf Eredar who loved freedom and life left his homeland. He flung himself into the battle with the lizardmen across the fields of the southern swamp. When he was engaged with ferocious enemies, the half-elf slowly uncovered the conspiracy brewing behind the war… In short, that was a novel that recorded the memoirs of it all. Even 03 found it difficult to understand the content of the novel. So, she was amazed and confused as to why the two little girls loved that story so much.
"Sigh… is that the last of the story? Can't there be more of it?" A girl with long blonde hair lied on the floor as she rolled around in dissatisfaction. "Didn't you said something had just begun?"
"Flan, sister 03 was saying that 'it was just the beginning for some people'. It's not that something has just begun." Next to the blond-haired girl, another girl with a short violet hair who was older than Flan lectured her little sister seriously, "You need to listen carefully to what others are saying… Argh! What are you doing?!"
The Artificial Intelligence lady looked at the two little girls who were screaming and fighting in front of her. She sighed.
The rumors about prehistoric relics had begun spreading in the territory of Moldova, the casters and explorers all over the Northern Empire had traveled from all around the continent to Moldova. The two little girls had broken off from the fight and sat down in their own places. After straightening their clothing, the blond girl tightened her headband. She asked 03 curiously, "So what kind of story do you like, big sister?"
"Me?" The Artificial Intelligence lady was not surprised by the little girl's question. After all, the little lady had always been a curious person. She thought about it and smiled. Then she replied the little girl, "I should like most of the stories about human beings… Of course, I love adventure stories the most."
"What kind of adventure stories?"
This time, it was the elder sister who asked the question. The two siblings sat closer to 03 as they were filled with curiosity. 03 activated her magical field as she 'hugged' the both of them with both of her projected arms. "Any kind of adventure stories… especially…"

I looked at the buck that was not too far away from me. The weak part of me was telling me not to do what it was that I was planning on doing. I knew that the life of every animal mattered. Maybe besides the lives of the dragons, John, as I turned my head over to him, had told me a lot about dragons.
All that I knew was that they were evil, and I had to believe them as well. They had killed my mother, and they had tried to kill me as well, they had burnt down a large city and killed thousands of people just to make sure that I was dead.
Sadly for them though, I was still alive. They made a big mistake on that attack, they had to know that some of the people would survive that attack on a large city. It would spread all around the nation, that yes, dragons were not just a hoax.
I always thought they were, and that they were just written in short little stories. Maybe those stories had a different meeting, they would always bring up evil black dragons... It was all starting to nake sense to me now. I closed my eyes, trying to clear my head of all of those thoughts.
I needed to focus on the task that I was doing right now, which was hunting for food to feed us for the next couple of days. We had done good so far, over the last year out in the wild, food was fairly easy to come by, but it came as a risk as well of being found by dragons.
They were practically everywhere nowadays, I was pretty sure that everyone in the nation knew that they were real at this point. At least that is what the members of Johns old group had been telling everyone. The government was apparently trying to calm down people and bring them into the army as well.
I knew that our time was coming soon as well, I was not sure if John had wanted me to hear it, but I had been sneaking in on their conversations to hear what it was that they had to say. You could not blame me either, I was worried for quite a while that John was here for a different reason.
I had heard from the dragons in one of the visions that some of the humans were on the side of the dragons... I do not understand how that could be so either, they did know that they were just going to end up killing those humans as well right?
I shook my head, as I saw John looking at me with a squinted look. He was waiting for me to shoot, and I had wasted a lot of time already. I was lucky enough that the buck had not moved away either. I pulled out the string, and then shot my arrow at the buck.
But he and I both knew that I was not paying attention, the buck had moved a little bit, and I was not aiming at the direction of it at all. The arrow whizzed past the back side of the buck, and the buck turned its head right away, trying to see where the shot might have come from.
He sat there for a few moments, justing turning its head back and forth, trying to see what it was that had made that shot from right behind us. For a few moments I thought that we might be safe, and that we might get another chance to kill the buck.
I then cursed myself for thinking that thought in my head, as the buck ran off away from us. I tried to shoot another arrow at it quickly before it got too far away, but this time the arrow was even further away from the buck.
John looked at me, and I saw no emotions in his face whatsoever. I knew what he was going to say to me next, and I made sure to he ready for it this time, because once again, I had failed us... What good was I if I could not even do a simple task like getting food on the table?
Even my father and Uncle had gone around going hunting from time to time, not to mention the fact that they cleaned up around our camp. I often left my tent trashed up, and I would walk back in after "a long day" to see that it was all clean.
I knew that John had high hopes for me, and I was even worried for myself as well. All the stories that he had told me about my uncle were great stories... I wish I could be like him, but based off of the stories, and the great things that I had heard about him, I don't think that I could ever reach that level.
And I knew that he was not trying to hype my uncle up, and trying and give me a boost of energy either, his pals that had come around camp a few times had also shared the same stories as him. I wish I could say it were true like he said, that I could reach a potential above him.
I did not know that my uncle had ever planned on me joining a part of the legion of dragons. Apparently he had spoken to my mother about it, but my mother did her best to hide all of what had happened in the past from me, just like the rest of humanity.
If I would have known about all of this, then maybe things would have been completely different. Or maybe I would have gone crazy, and ended up in a prison like my father was. I knew now that it was not my fathers fault that he had gotten there in the first place.
He looked at me for a few more moments, and my head dropped down to the ground. I was a bit embarrassed, this was not the first time that I had failed him like this. At this point, it was too many to count by now, a lot in the last year that we had been out here. I looked back up at John, as I realized that he had begun speaking to me.
"Joseph... This is not your fault, you are not to blame for the thoughts that get envelept inside of your brain. I get it, you are worried... Just come back to camp with me, we can talk to Uncle about this with you. Padre should have some food cooking up for us as well." He said to me. I looked at him for a few moments, and then nodded.
It came as a bit of a surprise to me this time, because normally he was a bit rougher on me than the way that he was acting right now. Maybe he was starting to realize that all of this was beginning to catch up to me now. It was really putting me into a deep mental state the more and more I thought on it.
I looked at him for a few moments, and then gratefully nodded to him. Unless my father or Uncle had gone out to hunt for us today, which I had my doubts on that, than Padre could be potentially holding the last of the camps food in his hands...
I knew that Padre was a semi smart guy as well, he would for sure ration out the food as well. John put his hand on my shoulder, and then he nodded for me to follow after him. After I began to see him walk away from me, I jogged to catch up with him.
He did not say anything about it this time, as we kept on walking back to camp, which was luckily not too far away from us. I could not see it in the distance due to all of the trees. Which was a good thing as well, it kept us alive from all of the dragons.
Our city was just the first of many cities that had been attacked. They had gone out for my blood first, and once they had realized that they had not gotten. They knew that they had to get as much blood as they could, before I realized who they were and what they were doing.
I had kept having those visions, but I still was not quite that sure why they kept on visiting me over and over again. The purple dragon was starting to catch on as well, and I could tell he was trying to fake a lot of what it was that he said.
He was a fairly good liar, but I could mainly tell that he was lying because of the other dragons that were around him, and the looks of confusion on their faces. I did not say anything to him any more, I just watched the meetings that he was having with his men.
He would notice me near the end, and he would smile at me, as if he was trying to scare me, or to get into my head. He had done a good job the first couple of times, but he was no longer doing that to me. I would just tell John about what I had in the visions, and he would not to me, listening to what it was that I said, but he did not say anything about it.
I wondered if he actually believed what it was that I said to him. Surely he did right? He believed in my Uncle, so he had to believe in me as well... I shook my head, as I noticed that we were walking into camp. Padre looked at me, and then he nodded, as he was working on the camp fire to make the food just as John had expected.
I saw Uncle, and my father sitting near a log, both just waiting for the food to be done. Neither of them was looking at each other, nor speaking to each other as well. It was if they had their minds trapped in different places as well.
I looked around for a few moments, as if I was expecting to see Julia and Mariah with us as well. I had gotten attached to having them around with me at all times, and that short time span had expanded to up to a year now.
I still wish it were not true, I was fairly sure that they had died in my place, and if they had not, they had ran out somewhere in the streets, not even bothering to wait for me... The dragons would have caught them there as well... Nowhere was safe that day.
Hell... If they somehow made it out of the city as well, where were they to go after that? I shook my head, I should not worry about it, I should get over the fact that they were gone... Even if they were not dead, which I doubted, then I would never see them again anyways.
John nodded to me to head over to my father and Uncle. I looked back at him, and nodded back to him as well. I walked over to them, and then sat down on the log close to my father. I sat there as a few moments, as it seemed they did not acknowledge the fact that I had sat beside them.
My father sat there for a few moments, and I saw him staring at the ground, I saw a sad look on his face. I knew that he missed my mother, and regretted the decisions that he had made with her while she was still alive.
He had confessed all of the wrong decisions that he had made with her and the rest of us as well. I was not too sure about what he said, but if he really meant it, then I suppose I would have to trust him. He was my father after all, even if he was a pretty shit one. I looked up at him as he began to speak.
"Joseph... You can feel it too? Somethings missing..."

Jangras and his father both know that this war is only just beginning. Wow most dragon's in the tribe believe the tribe is safe and the war is already over, Himla makes sure to tell them to keep a steady eye. Meanwhile Jangra is greaving for the loss of his brother, he was his closest friend... He was a role model to Jangra. Jangra now also feels betrayed by Yikla as if he was used, and he blames himself for the death of his brother. Now battling through depression, Socra, Jangras mentor believes that Jangra needs to take the next step on his path. Jangra is too heart broken to even think about that. Meanwhile, Joseph on the other hand is with his father and Padre and Kaden. Padre is telling all the stories that he had heard from Josephs uncle. Joseph feels betrayed, he wishes that his mother and uncle should have told him. He could have been there and maybe saved her life. David, Josephs father, is battling through deep depression but he is training hard than all of them to become a part of the battalion. The battalion, what was left of it is coming back together with lots of new face. The government has fallen into absolute anarchy... People are protesting on the streets, and the army is falling apart. The Battalion is doing its best using Josephs unic skill to find dragons.
After the government manages to talk sense into people, the battalion is the main part in the army relaying messages to go out and hunt important dragons. Joseph meanwhile during a lot of the time, is searching for Julia and his sister, keeping a small hope that they are somehow alive out there. As the chances become slimmer and slimmer Joseph falls into a deep depression and becomes the ultimate dragon slayer, killing every dragon that he runs across.

"Hey, long time no see! Or should I say 'pleased to meet you' for the first time? Do you still remember me? I heard you lost your memory yet again. Ohhh, that makes me soo angry! We had such a good relationship back in the day!"
With a golden skin tone and eyes that seemed to be smiling, the person before me was chuckling before she even spoke. Her cheeks were slightly flushed with a light crimson hue, and her neatly combed golden braids reached her waist. Although I had no memory of this person, her physical appearance alone didn't make her seem like someone dangerous who would attempt to kill me at any moment.
"Yeah! If you don't remember, I can reintroduce myself. I'm Evelyn the Seventh. You can call me Little Seven."
A strange name with a strange number. However, I remained vigilant as I observed this seemingly friendly existence before me. This wasn't only because of that threat she had sent to me—it was also because she was obviously a dragon in human form.
I could sense a faint draconic might emanating from her. And her eyes were golden—dragon golden. An ordinary person might mistake her for an authoritative Gold Dragon, but that supposedly kind smile of hers indicated that she was a species far more dangerous—a Copper Dragon.
Copper Dragons were Metal Dragons and were typically treated as one of the "good" dragon species. Mainly residing in desert environments, Copper Dragons were skilled at digging and enjoyed constructing underground nests. They also rarely attacked humans. Yet if one ranked the dragon species by how much of a headache they posed for travelers and merchants, the Copper Dragons would be ranked higher than most evil Color Dragons—in fact, they might even be placed in the top three.
It was true that they didn't like to battle or attack humans. However, Copper Dragons loved to gossip, joke, and tell stories, and these hobbies of theirs required an audience. Alright then, let me say it directly. Simply put, Copper Dragons were chatterboxes. The issue was that they lived in deserts, a type of environment few others inhabited. If they got too lonely, misfortune would naturally befall someone.
Of course, as Metal Dragons, they didn't randomly assault humans—they summoned sandstorms, instead. Unsuspicious travelers would be led to the Copper Dragon's nest, the only place in the vicinity that'd allow them to evade the sandstorm. Then, they would "coincidentally" see many priceless treasures strewn about on the ground. And if they really tried to secretly steal some of the treasure, the Copper Dragon owner would "coincidentally" return at this time and catch them red-handed.
The Copper Dragon would proceed to threaten to eat the thief as a punishment for stealing from it unless, of course, the thief was willing to tell 72 hours of stories or listen to 72 hours of unfunny jokes without any rests or repeats! Those poor at spinning yarns would have the Copper Dragon bare its fangs, and the pitiful traveler would be scared into telling more stories. A Copper Dragon wouldn't release you until you had told all the stories you knew. Moreover, humans were typically unable to defeat them or escape, and were stuck on the wrong side of reason after being caught in the act of thievery. This "72 hour" time limit would often go over the allotted time, and the Copper Dragon would release you only when they felt you were about to go crazy.
This led to the suffering of many novice adventurers. After an encounter with a Copper Dragon numerous would change their job and go back home and farm… Yep, you guessed it. I indeed met a Copper Dragon before. Wasn't it just a contest between who could be more of a chatterbox? I chatted with that fellow for two months about Buddhism, "I think therefore I exist," the way of the Dao, and so on. In the end that guy ran off to become an ascetic monk and left all his worldly treasures to me—haha!
Cough —their natures made them incredibly annoying to the other dragons as well. Copper Dragons and Blue Dragons were typically mortal enemies with each other as they both claimed the desert environment as their home. Some people believed that this conflict over territory was natural because of the fierce rivalry between the Color and Metal Dragons. I, however, believed that it was more because all Blue Dragons were the overly serious type who loved combat, which made their relationship with the Copper Dragons, who loved to joke, chat, and play pranks, be like that of oil and water.
"Right, I'm interested in the prank you pulled recently. Could you give me some of those Slimes? The Dragon World has been way too boring recently. It's time to liven things up."
"Liven things up? You're intending on pulling your own prank, aren't you? Still, my Stink Slimes aren't that effective against dragons. However, I do have Slimes capable of automatically stealing precious metals. If you promise to give me half, I'll loan them to you."
"That won't be needed. In the Dragon World, stealing another dragon's treasure is one of the biggest taboos. Any dragon caught doing so will be directly exiled. I have no intentions of being hunted by all dragons. Right, do you have any explosive Slimes that will dye everything around it in certain colors? I'm intending on throwing a certain party…"
Evelyn and I strode down an underground passage, chatting as we walked. This appeared to be quite the joyous conversation, yet I remained fully on guard all the way along. This invitation had been unnatural from the very start.
"Umm… I hope you'll be able to survive."
When we had arrived at the entrance to the passage Halent had bid me farewell in such a fashion. I had almost turned around and fled, but then I remembered Evelyn, who had been waiting there to greet me. I was rather curious about this "Evelyn" character, anyways—I had heard of her ever since I had entered the Bardi Empire.
"Why did you want to talk to me?"
"Ah, it wasn't me who was looking for you. That would be Evelyn the Second! Yep—she's our Second Sister! Oh, right, if Third Sister wakes up, you should escape at top speed. She really wants to kill you."
"It's really dark and difficult to walk around in here, don't you agree? I honestly don't understand why they chose to construct their nest here, despite the fact that the Dragon World has such a pleasant environment."
"It rained again last night, making the path quite slippery! I accidentally tripped and fell over!"
"Ahh, I'm so, so bored. Second Sister doesn't allow us to go out either! I'm stuck in here every day without a single person to talk to."
"Hey—hey—hey, are you curious about how many of us sisters there are? And why we're all called Evelyn? I'll tell you—there are ten of us sisters. Although I think Little Eleven will be born in the next two years."
"Why aren't you saying anything? Oh, do you know any good jokes?"
While I did want to speak, she didn't even give me a chance to do so!

A massive Silver Dragon's head was currently observing me. This head belonged to a truly giant creature—just the eye alone was larger than an adult human. More ridiculous was the fact that this was a three-headed dragon, an existence nobody else had even heard of before. The other two similarly massive heads appeared to currently be in a deep sleep.
Several human figures appeared to be standing on the dragon's head. When I took a closer look, I discovered that they all had the same face but different hair colors. They were obviously the sisters that Evelyn the Seventh had mentioned.
"Well, I suppose I've heard of three-headed dragons. You're the three-headed dragon, Cher's mother?"
However, the colossal dragon shook its head.
