"Some People" was written by a contemporary poet from his world, Zang Kejia. It was included in the textbooks perennially. It was an emotive poem written to commemorate Lu Xun's 13th death anniversary. The poem was a comparison between two people. It was expressing the highest respect to Mr Lu Xun. It expressed one's anger by mercilessly exposing individuals who lord themselves over the people. The uniqueness of the poem came from its philosophical theme. People lived for the better good.

Of course, this was Zang Kejia's version, and it was the message he wanted to express.

Zhang Ye's poem today was not a eulogy. The main goal was not to praise and honor Editor Wei. Today, he recited "Some People" mainly to express his anger at people like Wang Shuixin. Yes, just like how most people present understood it. He was scolding someone! It was the same with "Dead Water"!

This is a critique of someone else's writing from my class. It starts with all of the poems, which are quite beautiful and emotional. It is clearly indicated where my critique starts. I hope you enjoy this as I certainly did.

you seemed so sweet, so innocent and pure.
you seemed to be the guy i was longing for.
the world saw us as friends, nothing more.
but to my broken heart, you were the only cure.

letters that contained our love for each other,
were thrown away, as if you were never my lover.
words meant for me, became meant for another.
we did things that i wouldn't even tell my mother.

kisses all over my neck and chest,
punches and slaps coming right and left.
never a night of peaceful rest,
yet i convinced myself it was for the best.

when you asked, i gave you ever piece of me.
even when you didn't, i'd just let it be.
there was never a moment where i felt free.
but i loved you so much, i just couldn't see.

adrift.

i'm no longer in touch with reality.
my mind is adrift, but some would say free.
i'm starting to forget everyone's faces,
eyes and lips have become blank spaces.

i don't know anything or anyone.
and sitting in the dark, alone, becomes fun.
ignorance doesn't bother me anymore,
my mind is cold, and so is my core.

i walk all alone, with my head down low.
still smiling, even though i have no one to show,
still laughing, even though no one's told a joke,
and crying, because my mind is as cloudy as smoke.


honestly?

letting people walk all over me,
and use me to their will.
ill say "no" and "please stop",
but through it all, i'm unheard still.

no one wants to hear me talk
about the good, the bad, and the sad.
they cover their ears, and shut their eyes,
and forget about the pain i've had.

but that's okay, smiles on my face,
oh man, she can really act.
but the scars on my wrists,
and the tears in my eyes,
prove my story as a fact.


so greedy.

i felt like a pretty girl today,
just for a moment though.
thinking someone could actually like me,
there may be more to me than i know.

when compliments come, i reject them,
and shy myself away.
but compliment, after compliment,
the more i hear, i want to stay.

these kind words get to my head,
so when i don't hear them i feel ugly.
i allowed myself to believe such pretty lies,
how could i think anyone could ever love me?


trust.

i've made this mistake way too many times.
i've lost everything that i once called "mine."
my friendships, my boyfriends, my reasons to care.
my happiness has gone completely elsewhere.

my confiding in people has been covered by lies,
but no one would know because i've silenced my cries.
"just hold it in, you're almost to you room".
soon to let my thoughts consume me like fiery fumes.

if i say the rights things, and word it just the right way,
people will think that i'm better. that i'm really okay.
but i'm slowly getting worse, wearing a permanent mask.
and if i ever feel fine, it doesn't last.

It hurts to pretend, yet i do it so much.
I smile and i wink, adding a personal touch.
But as the saying goes, eyes are the window to the soul.
And my eyes show that my heart has a gaping, black hole.

Dear S*******,

Overall, your writing does an amazing job at conveying emotions to the reader. As someone who has gone through similar pains and struggles in the past, I personally felt touched by this. I commend your bravery in putting this type of thing out there for others to see. Bravo. I will now break my evaluations down by poem. One thing, please excuse the improper use of pronouns if it does apply. I did not remember what you specified and I mean no offense by it.

The first poem you wrote was Lonely Love. When I read it, it was as if I could feel the pain that who I presumed was your ex caused you. I also had an ex-boyfriend who was quite neglectful. He never physically abused me but the mental is also bad. The line that really spoke to me was "But I loved you so much, I just couldn't see." Being blinded by love and other strong emotions can really cripple us. I once wrote a piece about fear and it conveys a similar message about being blinded by it. The last thing I have to say regarding this poem was the concluding stanza. The chaos and heartbreak in those four lines really expressed the confusion and pain that people feel when they are abruptly cut off from the one they thought they loved. One thing I believe could have contributed to improving this poem is adding a perspective of how he would approach you. Being able to have the reader see the experience of how he would greet you to add to the facade that blinded you would make for a much more comprehensive visual. However, this was a splendid work nonetheless.

The second poem was Up to You. It was difficult for me to determine what the actual theme or message was in this poem but I feel that I related to it in my own way. Through my depression and ADHD, I have always complained and blamed things that were out of my control. Then on top of that, I had always been a sort of therapist figure for my friends, even though I was too blind to solve my own issues. The part that piqued my interest was the concluding stanza. It really expressed the feeling that you are great for other people to lean on but can't even lean on yourself. 

The next poem was You're Delusional. I believe a better name for this poem would have been Sociopath. This term fits the theme much better. The description of the manipulation was masterful and abstract. Sociopaths are those who manipulate others for their own gains without care for other people's well being.

The proceeding poem was Spirit of Fear. I hadn't noticed it previously but I like how you switched up the flow in the poems in terms of rhyming. It made each poem read differently. As I read through this poem in particular, I was able to imagine the sound of torrential rain outside my window. I felt the chills and coldness of loneliness and despair. The facade that conceals your emotions also contributed to the feeling. It almost made me feel as if you were holding an umbrella during a storm while already soaking wet.

The next poem was called Adrift. I read this poem as if the person in question was a desensitized and lost soul, adrift in the void of solitude. The facial features of others dissolving from your memory really pushed forward that idea of being lost and not knowing how to get back on your path. It was a very interesting way to put it.

The next poem was named Honestly? I wasn't entirely sure how to read this poem but I decided that it made the most sense coming from a survivor of sexual violence. Whether it be ****, sexual assault, sexual harassment, physical abuse, any of those could be the source of this despair. Victims often don't get the support they need. Many people don't even understand sexual assault in the first place. I was in that position a long time ago. My first sexual experience was me being assaulted and I didn't even know until years later. The line, "Oh man, she can really act," really struck a chord with me. It would seem that putting up a facade is a common theme in your poems and it really provides a window into the pain behind that forced smile. I believe this poem would have been a bit better if the angle that you were coming from when writing this was a bit more clear as I am still unsure as to whether I read it correctly or not.'

The next poem was So Greedy. This poem really hit upon human nature and how it has developed in current times. Today, people crave the approval of others, constantly posting, showing off, and seeking that attention. Even negative attention can often fill that void to make people feel good about themselves. The last line, "How could I think anyone could ever love me?" was an interesting way of lifting the facade to expose the reality that hosts the delusions.

The last poem was Trust. This is a common sentiment that a lot of people who have been hurt by others have. Being unable to trust people yields anxiety and depression. I have felt this way many times. I have become cold and heartless in my pursuit of love, only opening up when I feel that someone is worthy. Unfortunately, even those that are worthy will often rip your heart out and leave an even bigger void than before. A line in the song Without You by The Kid Laroi really sums this up for me. "You ripped out a piece of me and now I bleed internally left here without you…" My one critique for this poem is that there could have been some better verbiage used in specific spots. One example I will give is the line, "My friendships, my boyfriends, my reasons to care." This line could have been ten times better if you used the word "lovers" rather than "boyfriends." This would accomplish a few things. First, it would improve the flow of the line, making it read and sound better. Secondly, it would make it so that anyone could relate to it rather than being turned off by the fact that it is from the perspective of a heartbroken girl. Lastly, having the word "friend" be said twice in the same line just doesn't read that well. The message came across just fine but "lover" would have sounded better. Overall, I really liked the poem and this one spoke to me personally just like the first one.

You did a great job on these poems. The overall critique I would have is to work on your verbiage in some places. Other words would fit better in those places to just read back your stuff and make sure that everything sounds good when you read it aloud. I do sincerely hope I get another chance to read some of your work.

This is just a collection of some random stuff I write. There is no rhyme or reason to them so don't expect them to be related to each other. Each chapter will be a different piece. Some might be long, some might just be a few lines. It is just a place for me to be able to look back at the stuff I play around with in terms of writing and I thought I'd let others access that place.

Ding dong!
Right then, Xiao Feifei's phone sounded.
"It's Lingchen."
Xiao Feifei's eyes brightened, and she immediately opened the message. "He has really finished the script."
"He actually finished the script in three days?!" Sister Lin exclaimed in surprise. "I wonder what's the quality like."
"It won't be bad." Xiao Feifei was filled with anticipation. She printed out Ye Lingchen's script in a hurry and read it back to back with Sister Lin.
Once they started, their laughter never stopped and they were totally engrossed in it, unable to stop midway. Only when they finished the last page could they stop reading.
"This script...OMG! It will definitely be a hit!" Sister Lin gasped a mouthful of cold air. She recalled the plots in iPartment and still felt like laughing.
Xiao Feifei was the Queen of TV series. Their sense for TV series was definitely on par with any directors. This iPartment script was really well written and could be considered a masterpiece!
"It's a heartwarming and funny TV series." Although Xiao Feifei had full confidence in Ye Lingchen, she was still shocked when she saw that script. She even felt that this script surpassed all the scripts she had seen before this!
"The content of this script is impeccable. It accommodates audiences of all ages. Most importantly, this script's filming cost is extremely low!" Xiao Feifei noticed that point.
Filming cost was an important factor for a filming company because it directly affected the profits. Nonetheless, Ye Lingchen managed to create the perfect content and minimize the cost at the same time. He deserved to be described as a genius. Furthermore, this script was written in only three days!
If that news were to be leaked, it would shake the screenwriting community. All the screenwriters would die from embarrassment!
"Feifei, I finally understand why you're working so hard." Sister Lin nodded profoundly as she read the script.
At first, Xiao Feifei was a rare good girl in her eyes. Those that are worthy of her could be counted on one's hand. However, Ye Lingchen was an exception!
Just what kind of monstrous person was this!?
Seeing Xiao Feifei reply to him with a satisfied emoji, Ye Lingchen smiled and took a break. He then used his phone to log onto Weibo.
Recently, there were a lot of people tagging him on Weibo, causing his Weibo account to vibrate non stop with notifications. Even some of the public official accounts were tagging him. Meanwhile, he was unsure of what had happened.
Novel Y's Weibo was already taken over from all sides. Below it were countless comments. 
[F*ck! Please go to Weibo and sanction this. I can't take it anymore!]
[Novel Y, aren't you good with poems? Please go at it with those poets. I beg of you!]
[Livestream Y, you can't just focus on live streaming. You're so good with poems, why not write a few more?]
[F*ck! I can't take it anymore. I want to vomit!]
[I didn't turn on Weibo for three days now. My eyes, it burns!]

Ye Lingchen was shocked when he entered Weibo's main page.
In the middle of the main page was an event banner. It was the poem event that he saw a few days back. It was a platform for everyone to express themselves through poems.
To be honest, that event was rather successful and was buzzing with activity.
Opening the event link, Ye Lingchen was surprised. The event page was unexpectedly filled with many poems over the past few days. It was roughly estimated to be in the thousands.
Apart from some trolls from when the event started, it managed to bring in a few traditional linguists to take part as the event progressed.
Their Weibo were all certified accounts, and they were members of the Author's Association from various districts, various poets, modern poets, and even ancient poem appraisers.
This group of people was rather famous and had previously created some works. With their reputation, their participation immediately boosted the status and liveliness of the event.
Everyone took turns to voice out their comments, teachings, and debates.
At first, everything was fine. However, this group of people got addicted to boasting which eventually got into their heads. With that rush, they started sharing their poems for everyone to read.
[XX City's WA [1] Chairman: River covers all, black hole above the well. White on a yellow dog, swelling on a white dog.]
[XX City's WA member no.1: Good poem, good poem! Chairman's poem is describing a snowing scene, right? So lifelike. I'm humbled, so humbled!]
[XX City's WA member no.2: The poem's content and words are easily relatable. It also breaks apart from the usual rhyming pattern, especially that last sentence, "swelling on a white dog", is the essence of the poem. It shows us the scene of a heavy snowstorm, causing the image to pop out from the paper! Just amazing!]
[XX City's WA member no.3: This poem is a masterpiece, one I look up to!]
Faced with the praise from the crowd, XX City's WA Chairman laughed humbly, [It's nothing. This is just something I wrote casually at the end of last year. It's not suited for formal events. Please don't laugh at me…] 
With that, they started stroking each other's ego on the platform, getting more and more out of hand, eventually turning the platform into their stage.
Ye Lingchen continued reading. With that, it turned even more nonsensical.
[XX City's WA Chairman: Since everyone is sharing their works, then I shall show my flaws and entertain everyone. Big Clear Lake[2]—Big clear lake, lake clear big. Big clear lake has lotus, lotus has a toad, jumping here and there.]

[XX City's WA member no.2: This poem fully expressed the scene of Daming Lake. This is awesome!]
[XX City's WA member no.3: Everyone please applause!]
Apart from that, there were also those asking for advice.
[XX City's WA member: I had an inspiration and wrote a poem, hoping for chairmen and presidents to give me some pointers. A Praise of the Clouds—The clouds in the sky are really white. Really white, really really white. Very white, very very white. Extremely white, super white, so white I could die. Ah!]
That was not the worst. Below that, someone was actually giving him pointers.
[XX City's WA Chairman: Your poem is mainly writing about the whiteness of the clouds. The theme is clear, but the obscurity is lacking. However, as a poem, it is considered acceptable. Passable.]
[XX District's WA Chairman: I feel that your poem might need another supporting sentence, for example, "Reflected on the water, turning the water white."]
[XX City's WA member: That's the essential touch! As expected of the chairman. Thank you for your guidance. I've learned much!]
'No, I can't read this anymore.'
Ye Lingchen quickly logged out of there. If he continued reading them, he feared that his intelligence would be affected.
No wonder so many people cried foul. That was just challenging the extreme!

Ye Lingchen was a regular high schooler who struggled with exams and expectations from his parents.
All that changed after he woke up from a strange dream and discovered that he had been granted the 'Prodigy System'. His life changed from this point on. Reading a book allowed him to learn its content immediately. Listening to lectures granted instant understanding of the lesson. Observation of a technique imprinted knowledge of the technique used.
Learning had never been so easy, and as the saying goes, knowledge is power. In this case, he now had access to a ton of unbridled power. 
What does it feel like to become a 'prodigy' overnight? Follow Ye Lingchen on this journey to discover the limitless possibilities...

The moment these words came out of his mouth, everyone had immediately turned their heads in the direction of June.
Within the eyes of Misa, Nisa and Maka Soma there was a questioning look, from looking at which June immediately understood that they did not know anything about it, but only the head elder had a surprised look in his eyes.
"Actually, this is the whole poem that is known throughout the generations of our Soma village", the head elder replied calmly without finding any kind offence in the June's words.
June also understood the intention and did not ask any further regarding it.
Actually, June had clearly understood most of the literary significance behind this folk poem. He did not know much about the literature works before, but he had enough common sense to understand that any kind of literature work could never thrive on just the fear alone.
The strongest ability of any literature work, especially like poems, stories, novels, plays, scripts and even the lyrics of a song is its ability to manipulate or juggle with the emotions of the reader, so that their mind may feel refreshed from any fatigue that they might have in the reality, and also helping the mind in dealing with the untamed emotions by giving a kind of pseudo experience to the mind  of the reader.
It is like in some cases, where reading the Romeo and Juliet will automatically alert the mind in some way or the another about the practical consequences of such actions in the society, so that in most of the cases our mind can subconsciously prepare by giving at least some kind of precaution or a warning in case the emotions start to roll out of control.
So normally, any famous literature work would naturally manipulate or juggle with the emotions of the reader in many kinds of different ways, but the thing is that, at least two balls are required for the proper juggling.
After all you can not juggle with just a single ball in your hands, but in this folk poem that was narrated by the head elder Hason Soma there was only one primary emotion, that was fear.
Like there was some kind of a warning hidden within these words.       
While June was wondering about the poem, a voice entered his ears.
"The name of this poem is 'Red Heavens'"
Said the head elder after resuming his original comforting elderly demeanor.
Then he started explain the real story portrayed in the poem.
As the legend goes, a very long time ago beyond those great mountains that could be seen in the northern direction, there was a kind of 'Holy City' that the people of Oma Hills region referred to as the 'White heavens'.
There were all kinds of mystical and supernatural stories regarding that city and the 'people' who used to live there.
Yes, that is right, "people".
It was a city of human beings and not deities but those humans had many different kinds of extraordinary abilities that were not a single bit less than the supernatural fiction when June heart it. With the least of it being that each one of them could at least fly.
For normal people living on these lands, this 'Holy City' had a very important significance because it very openly represented "Hope".
By this it meant that even an ordinary person who is the weakest born had the chance to reach there, and as the legend goes, you did not even need to have any kind of talent or special ability or even riches to find its way.
You do not have to do any kind of good things or bad things in order to be judged on the way to reaching that place.
There was only one way to find your way to that "White Heaven" and that was to awaken your "Will".
It was believed that for those people who have awakened their 'Will', doesn't matter if you are a new born child or a dying old man, even if you were to walk in southern direction, which was the opposite direction to the mountains in the north, still you could reach 'White Heavens' by taking just a single step.
This was the 'Hope' that was present in the hearts of all of the people that were alive at that period of time and they used to call it the "Will of Hope", their "White Heavens". 
And in fact, even the name of this place where they were currently living, that was called 'Oma Hills Region' also came from that holy city named "White Heavens".
