Cain's indignation was understandable. The first Contract was the one which would impact a Contractors growth the most. There had been many rich idiots who would Contract with weak Contractees, using huge amounts of money and time to raise them to a barely acceptable standard. Smarter people would Contract with something strong from the beginning, then train it into something more fearsome. The most prevalent mentality of valuing existing strength over potential was taught as the correct way to proceed. 

Sustaining more than one contract was extremely difficult at a young age. A Contract acted as a constant drain on the Contractor's willpower, and those without sufficient willpower could do find themselves unable to sustain even two contracts when they first began. 

Cain estimated he would be able to maintain three contracts with no drawbacks, any more and he would run into issues. Using one of his three prescious Contracts on a garden snake didn't sit well with him. Cain had actually hoped the warrior himself would agree to be Contracted, but it seemed that wasn't going to happen.

The warrior's expression was one of shock at Cain's outburst. This white snake was what his Lord had relied on in his early years to build his army, could it be that the Lord had not explained to his son what the snake's purpose was? He then remembered that his Lord had told him to explain the hidden abilities of the serpent. His voice, now with a near imperceptible tremble to it, began to explain.

"While the white snake is currently weak oh exalted one, it is because it has yet to grow beyond the infant stage. The Ruler of All Men used the parent of this snake to great effect, he had even said it was the only reason he became as powerful as he did."

Cain noticed the slight tremble in the man's voice, surmising that his displeasure had been the cause. He still wanted to recruit this warrior to his side and so decided to humour him. Acquiescing to his request would indebt the man to Cain, and he could use that to build a rapport and hopefully sign a Contract. 

Taking such a man into the school's tiny world would be akin to letting a fox into the hen house. He would be able to easily dominate and exploit the world. If only this mighty warrior would follow him, paying the bills wouldn't be a challenge.

"Alright I trust you…"

Cain realised the man had not given him a name and stared pointedly at him. To his credit the man swiftly realised what Cain wanted.

"Darius m'lord"

"Right then Darius, all I need to do is contract the snake right? I apologise for my prior outburst, I know you must have my interests at heart." 

Cain reasoned that by putting his trust in Darius and not asking him to elaborate on the snake's supposed abilities he could demonstrate his sincerity and build a good impression.

If Darius happened to be lying to him and was seeking to cause him harm he could simply dissolve the contract with the snake and retreat to Earth until he had an army capable of defeating him. There were only benefits to earn here, with very little risk. Crushing him with the pure power of a higher existence was also possible but that was a last resort.

Cain walked over to the small serpent and sat down in front of it. He assumed a meditative stance, focusing entirely on the snake. Piece by piece Cain's willpower coalesced into a silver thread connecting from his forehead to the spot between the snake's eyes. Sweat began to pour from Cain, as the effort of constructing a mental bridge had proved quite taxing. Despite Cain's high amount of willpower, a mental bridge still took a fair chunk of his willpower. He had substituted the skilful control most people had to train themselves in by just pouring power in until the bridge formed.

The snake didn't attempt to snap at the mental bridge or reject it. In fact, it just continued to slither around on the stone floor, content and uncaring. The only feedback from the snake was its thoughts, which were transmitted without any input from the snake or Cain.

Inside the snake's mind were revolving images of what Cain assumed were tiny worlds. The images progressed as a gargantuan snake appeared and began swallowing the tiny worlds whole, each world increasing the snake's size. Once all the tiny worlds had been consumed the images would repeat.  The giant snake in the images bore an uncanny resemblance to the little rascal on the floor. Pale white scales with deep green eyes.

Cain turned to Darius, his face pale as the he realised what that this snake would be once it grew up. "Darius I changed my mind, explain everything about this monster please"

Darius's face once more broke into a grin. "Your wish is my command divine heir. This snake is the offspring of a species called Librarian Snakes. They were named by the gods due to their characteristic of consuming knowledge to grow and survive. Only entire worlds can sate their hunger when they grow to adulthood. They share their knowledge freely with their master allowing you access to an ever-growing library of information. Their children inherit the parent's library and are highly sought after by all gods.  One adult Librarian Snake can genocide a world in mere minutes. The Ruler of All Men had prepared this snake for you, divine heir, to allow you the best possible start in your endeavours."

Cain didn't know how many more mental sucker punches he could handle. The fact that this snake could end worlds was cool, but the knowledge was the real prize to Cain. Knowledge was the one thing Cain could always use more of. Cain re-focused on his mental connection with the infant destroyer. He realised this snake would be an essential part of his army as it grew.

"Can you understand me?"

Cain's mental communication interrupted the snake's thoughts. The repeating daydream of endlessly devouring worlds was replaced with a question mark in the snake's mind. Cain had already figured that despite the vast knowledge the snake had stored away it couldn't freely access its internal library. It just wanted to eat and sleep. It didn't have any meaningful thoughts about a higher existence communicating with it. Only infantile curiosity.

"If you come with me I'll let you eat your fill every day. Once you grow up I'll let you eat all the worlds you want"

Cain's promise had been effective. The white snake slithered across the floor, reaching Cain and proceeding until it had curled up on his head. Cain took this as a sign of consent to begin the Contract, as the infant snake could not communicate beyond sending Cain mental images.

"Darius, did my Lord father indicate any stipulations in regard to the Contract?" 

Contracts had to be airtight, stipulate to a king he can't kill his subjects and he'll just order his subordinates to do so. The most common contracts were absolute servitude contracts which enforced complete obedience to the Contractor. For beasts this worked fine, but for intelligent life detailed Contracts were generally better. Cain wanted to make sure he wouldn't get screwed by forming a loose contract.

"The Ruler of All Men indicated the servant contract to be most suitable. Wouldn't want the Librarian Snake to disobey when you need it most." Cain agreed with his father's judgement in this case. The snake might grow more intelligent as it grew up and having a world devouring serpent on a loose leash might have unpleasant consequences.

Cain focused on the mental bridge to begin the process of forming the Contract.

"Do you swear to follow my orders absolutely and completely, with no interpretation, following both the letter and spirit of my commands no matter what?"

The snake responded by showing Cain thoughts of a tiny world followed by a question mark. Cain laughed when he saw this, immediately grasping the tiny glutton's intentions.

"In return for your eternal servitude I swear on my true name, Cain Adams, that you will never go hungry."

Cain felt as though his brain had been set alight as a huge amount of his willpower was sucked down the mental bridge and used to bond the Librarian Snake's soul to his. The burning sensation gradually faded as the Contract took hold in the Librarian Snake's soul. Cain could now feel the snake's emotions as well as read its surface level thoughts. The snake showed no discomfort during the process making Cain rather jealous.

The small snake remained curled on Cain's head, but the previously silver mental bridge transformed changing to a golden hue. Cain immediately felt his mental burden lessen. Purely projecting himself into this world was a constant drain on his willpower and forming the contract had left him with very little left in the tank. Cain estimated he would have enough willpower to continue in his projected state for a while longer but forming any more Contracts would be impossible. 

Now that the Librarian Snake was under his command Cain decided to give it a name. To continue referring to it as just a snake felt like an injustice to such a powerful beast. The pale white scales reminded Cain of the ice he would take with his water. Snakes were a cold-blooded species so a name related to ice and coldness seemed appropriate.

"I'll call you Chilled, since you seem to be so relaxed here on my head."

Chilled showed no indication it cared about its new name and continued to remain coiled up on Cain's head. Despite being only a projection Cain could choose to retain corporality by expending a little willpower. The cost was low, and it helped to have a physical presence when forming Contracts. Sometime more intelligent creatures would reject a Contractor's existence unless they could be seen.

Cain was actually rather pleased now. He knew that if this snake was raised correctly it could be the lynchpin for his entire army. There was only one problem. He couldn't take Chilled beyond the confines of this world. For a Contractee to truly join the army of their Contractor they would need to be fully matured and reach a tier 3 in power.

Tiers were the classifications used to describe the power of a Contractee. Tier 1 was for wild animals and weak humans. Tier 2 was for stronger animals and combat trained humans. Tier 3 meant the Contractee could use mana to some extent. Without the ability to manipulate mana dimensional travel proved too great a burden on both body and mind. This was why a mature body and a powerful mana control skill were required for all Contractees.

Cain turned to Darius, intending to inquire into the purpose of the tower but it seemed Darius had realised Cain would question him after the Contract was completed.
 
"Congratulations on your successful Contract divine heir, may it be the first of many. The Librarian Snake cannot leave the confines of this world due to its immaturity, but by your Contract with it you can access the internal library it holds at anytime from anywhere even in the realm of the gods. I am now allowed to inform you of the Tower of the Forgotten's purpose."

Cain remained silent, as Darius explained.

"The Ruler of All Men performed a great many, shall we say, experiments on various beings. He left the failures here as they either didn't meet expectations or were deemed too powerful to be let loose. Before he departed he left me here as the sole protector of the tower and told me his son would soon arrive, seeking strength. The Librarian Snake is the first of many gifts divine heir, but the Lord instructed that you should not grow dependent on his goodwill.

Cain knew what was coming next but still felt compelled to ask. "So, I can't go beyond this floor until I bring back my second Contractee?"

Cain thought that if Darius's grin grew any wider he would split his lips open. The man hadn't stopped smiling since Cain agreed to his request. "As expected of my Lord's own son you are truly wise. The lord has forbade you from forming too many Contracts too quickly. All residents are aware of the Lord's command and will refuse to join you until I have seen your army grow. The resident of the first floor will allow you to dominate your peers, but until the first member of your army can cross over to this world he will not be permitted to join you."

Cain felt this was a regrettable but fair condition for being able to use the tower. It seemed that he was the only one who could access this world and Darius wouldn't allow anyone else to enter the tower, so even if someone could access the world they would be unable to gain any benefits. The fact that Chilled couldn't leave yet made Cain a little worried. If it died while he was away he would feel like dying.

"These conditions are acceptable, Darius, but what about Chilled will he be okay without me?"

"Forgive my question divine heir but who is Chilled?"

"The Librarian Snake Darius. I gave him a name."

"Ah my apologies for correcting you divine heir but Librarian Snakes are exclusively female. I do not know why this is, I apologise for being unable to offer you an adequate explanation"

"No matter Darius the name fits her well, will she be fine staying here?"

Darius thought for a moment before answering. "Yes, she will be well cared for. You saw the battlefield outside; the discarded weapons have been serving as a fine food source. Librarian Snakes are creatures who naturally grow to become capable of serving the gods in their travels. There is no need to worry for I, Darius ensure her days are spent in comfort."

Darius had puffed his chest up for his final statement which amused Cain. The image of this scarred and rugged warrior, taking pride in serving him was surreal. He was a full-fledged Contractor now, he would have to get used to scenes like this one.

"I leave her in your capable hands then Darius. I will depart now and try and bring you a worthy member of my army when next we meet."

Darius was practically glowing with pride. He had delivered his Lord's messages perfectly, the heir was pleased with and trusted him, and he would be able to take the Librarian Snake out to feed instead of having to haul the food into the tower like before. Today had been a good day.

"One last thing Darius, would you ever consider joining me on my journey?"

"My apologies divine heir but my the Ruler of All Men entrusted me with keeping the Tower of the Forgotten's residents alive and well"

"Ah never mind then. Farewell for now Darius"

Cain began to pull his consciousness back into his body, happy with the gains he had obtained in the Tower of the Forgotten. While the tower offered him an excellent long-term goal he still had the threat of the bills to worry about.

It was time to go conquer a world.

What would you do if you found out you were a god? 

For the people of Earth this became a reality 15 years ago with the discovery of tiny worlds- lower dimensional worlds containing beasts of myth and legend and the humans who grow by hunting them.

Earth is a higher world however.

Instead of killing monsters, the people of Earth have the ability to project themselves using their willpower into tiny worlds and form contracts with the inhabitants.

People's values have already changed

School is now a battleground for teenagers to fight with their armies in tiny world battle arenas.

If you can’t fight then you can’t eat in this martial focused new world!

For our hero, Cain, as someone who has under gone more training than any of his peers he understands that without money and resources all the will in the world can’t change his fate.
 
Until his father disappears on the day he becomes a Contractor, leaving him a set of tiny world co-ordinates. With this exclusive world in hand Cain sets off with one goal firm in mind- Conquering the Earth!

'Splash'

Purple blood spurted out in the air and also seemed to be leaking out from the corners of its mouth in a steady stream.

The eyes of Shaggy lit up in joy, but before it could even lick the purple blood leaking out from the corners of its mouth and munch on its long-awaited delicacy, a torrential stream of water gushed out from all the three doors and crashed into its body.

'Thump'

The body of Shaggy crashed into the railings of the handrails while the water pressure had further locked it in the same place as it flowed around its body through the gaps in the rails.

The water pressure pressed it towards its left where the railings on the handrails imprinted upon the flesh of Shaggy from its right and formed a depression that traversed deep into its fur.

The high water pressure had made it so that it could neither swim-up nor struggle for breath while the force at which its body kept pressing against the handrails started to damage its internal organs and make its bones creak, producing a series dangerous bone-crunching sounds.

"It Stinks!" Prakash thought as his two palms held onto the gums of the upper oral cavity of Shaggy while a steady stream of purple blood leaked out from his legs.

Earlier, when he had jumped towards Shaggy, he had missed the perfect timing by a hair's breadth which resulted in him losing the portion of his legs below his thighs.

Nerves popped out like tree vines on the regions of his face and neck as Prakash bit his tongue to endure the pain of losing most of his legs. His eyes turned red as tears streamed out of them, showcasing the amount of pain that he was currently enduring.

The amount of power left in his transformation would last a couple of seconds at most and he had to make good use of it.

"Ugh…" Prakash concentrated to the best of his ability as his body swayed back and forth like a boat trying to stay afloat in the raging seas as a torrent of water impacted upon the body of Shaggy and pressed its body against the railings of the handrail, rocking its insides.

A stream of blood gushed out from its throat and drenched the swaying figure of Prakash. The stench was nauseating to the extent that it made him feel like he had to vomit out his guts but since his stomach was currently empty, he could barely resist the urge.

Suddenly, purple smoke coagulated around his hands and dissolved in the air like a wisp of smoke as his body lost its grip and fell down.

As his body fell on the soft but slimy tongue of Shaggy, Prakash noticed a faint tattoo on his body that looked like an ant flickered in purple radiance and vanish like it had never existed there in the first place.

As Prakash willed for his 'Record' to appear, thin purple smoke that looked too sparse as compared to before seeped out of the pores on his body at a snail's pace and condensed into a broken screen that flickered incessantly, as if it couldn't maintain its appearance.

Prakash was shocked when he found a blank space in his Karma attribute that belonged to the 'Ant'.

"Another mystery to ponder," Prakash muttered to himself in frustration as he could no longer undergo a transformation no matter how many times he willed it. Thankfully, the body of Shaggy no longer moved and its internal organs no longer wriggled. Its body seemed to be stuck in a stable spot for now.

Even though he was trapped in its jaws, at least he was safe for now. Moreover, if he could reduce his breathing rate and take slow breaths, then the amount of air present inside the body of Shaggy would be breathable for him for quite some time.

Prakash sat in a comfortable position atop Shaggy's tongue as he tried to inspect his injuries while wrapping a small piece of cloth over his nose to filter the unbearable smell. Surprisingly, his legs no longer bled blood and the cut area even seemed to be regenerating the lost flesh and blood, albeit at a snail's pace.

His 'Record' suddenly shattered into purple mist and seeped into his body. It seemed as if his 'Record' could no longer maintain itself outside his body.

With nothing else to do, Prakash became lost in his thoughts for a long time. He lost track of time until suddenly, the body of Shaggy violently jerked a few times before it went still.

Before he could manage to think up a response; from the depths of Shaggy's throat, a thick purple snake slithered out, illuminating the dark oral cavity of Shaggy.

Unlike all the purple snakes he had seen so far, this purple snake was huge. Its body thickness was almost the height of his body as it slowly inched closer towards him. Its body looked intangible while it slithered in and out of the muscles in its path as it inched towards him.

Its head looked just like Shaggy's head as if Shaggy had grown a snake-like body below its neck.

As it slowly hovered before the face of Prakash, he could see many images flickering in the long streamlined body of the purple snake. The images were a series of blurry humanoid figures, trees, birds, etc or stuff that he assumed them to be at the very least judging from their design, shape, and movements.

These images were small and ever-changing so Prakash wasn't sure about what they represented. Moreover, they looked like stars in the night sky as they shone with a blinding purple hue.

"I guess I have to take a leap of faith first at this point." Prakash cleared his puzzled mind of all confusion as he slowly raised his right hand towards the face of the huge purple snake.

The moment his palm came in contact with the face of the purple snake, it immediately let out a roar and dashed into his body.

"Aaaaaaaahhh!" Prakash screamed in agony as the amount of pain he currently felt was many times greater than the pain he felt when he lost his legs. It felt like his body was put into a grinder and then roasted in boiling hot oil.

A massive amount of purple smoke tried to gush into his body but like a small hose that was limited in its discharge/inlet capacity, the body of Prakash was simply unable to absorb the gushing purple smoke at a sufficient speed.

As a container, his body had its limits while the purple smoke tried to compress itself and further squeeze into his body. It seemed as if his body would burst into pieces due to the pressure it was exerting on him.

A part of the purple smoke that was leaking out of his body once again materialized into a doggy face which extended into a snake's body from the region below its neck. The doggy face with the snake's body looked at the wailing Prakash whose entire figure seemed to be showing signs of collapse and at the long trail of its slithering body that seemed to have no end.

The eyes of the dog-headed purple snake slowly gained a trace amount of sentience as it rapidly consumed the image fragments in its body and further materialized into a more solid form.

It slowly took on a form that swayed from being intangible to tangible and vice-versa many times in a second as it gradually slithered through the body of Shaggy and into the sea of water outside.

The dog head that was situated on one end of the purple snake made sniffing motions as if it could smell through water and slowly floated to the entrance of the room on the centre and proceeded into it, all while sniffing for something in the sea of high-pressure water that expanded before it like a maze.

Many objects drifting in the undercurrents that would occasionally bump into its body passed right through it as the purple smoke seemed to be unaffected by physical objects. It also thinned out the longer it travelled and the further away it was from the body of Shaggy.

It only had the width of Prakash's thumb as it neared a huge cuboidal object. This cuboidal object was three feet in length, one foot thick and two feet in height with two terminals situated at the very peak on its top that was placed on the two edges opposite to each other.

It was a lead-acid battery that had been connected to an inverter that was used to power the house during power failures.

The dog-headed purple snake immediately passed through the outer walls of the battery and proceeded towards the inner components as its face morphed into various shapes that ranged from hair-like strings to spanner-type structures as they latched onto the different components, acids, etc within the lead-acid battery.

Suddenly, the body of the dog-headed purple snake jerked in response as faint electrical arcs passed through its body. The blue electric arcs collided with many image fragments along its path and consumed them. The electric arcs were slowly dyed purple after hundreds of collisions with the image fragments and travelled all the way to its source and eventually landed on the body of Prakash.

"Aaarghh!" The body of Prakash began to jerk even more violently as the pain he felt multiplied further when the purple electric arcs seeped into his body.

Everywhere the purple electric arcs passed through in his body, the purple smoke in the area got slightly compressed while faint modifications occurred to his body in that particular area that further increased the capacity of his body in absorption and containment of the purple smoke.

An unending stream of purple smoke came out from the throat of Shaggy intending to be absorbed by Prakash while small purple electric arcs were sent to his body through the purple snake that had extended out of Shaggy's body.

What happens when the human race turns small, small enough to become buddies with butterflies? 

Our protagonist finds himself within a cotton fibre, one that was large enough to blanket the skies. His wife that was within arm’s reach a minute ago had now disappeared.

Embarking on a journey to reunite with his wife and one-year-old son, our protagonist arrives at the edge of a cliff. But, the landscape he presumed to be a cliff actually turned out to be the edge of his couch. He had shrunk to such an extent that his TV remote looked bigger than him. 

Things that were taken for granted before now necessitated life and death struggles as our protagonist searches for his family while trying to survive the onslaught of various insects, each of which were now as huge as him.

The current from the fall back of the dark celestial river bombarded downward, and the speed grew faster and faster. Meanwhile, those two giant flowers were also gradually sinking down. As a result, the terrifying force of attraction coming from the huge abyss was becoming stronger and stronger as well!
The dark celestial river and the heavy pressure from the force of attraction caused the bodies of Qin Mu and the dragon qilin to become incomparably heavy. They couldn't maintain their balance and fell into the abyss involuntarily.
"Dragon Sparrow Biting Heaven!"
The green sparrow on Qin Mu's shoulder suddenly cried out, and her primordial spirit appeared to form a dragon sparrow behind her. The head and the tail of the dragon sparrow were connected, and its body was half of a vermillion bird and half of a green dragon. It had the body and tail feathers of a vermillion bird but had the tail of a green dragon that stretched out from the tail feathers.
The dragon sparrow spread its wings and circled in the sky. It raised its head to give a sharp cry, and the cry of a vermillion bird and the roar of a dragon came from its mouth as it spewed out blazing sacred flames.
Her tail feathers were inconceivably long, and they were nearly connected with her head, forming a loop that surrounded everyone.
The vermillion bird sacred flames from her mouth ignited her green dragon tail, and the sacred flames quickly spread throughout her entire body to form a flaming hoop, blocking the terrifying power from the Ruins of End.
Dragon Sparrow Biting Heaven. With the head biting the tail, its body formed a loop, and in the center was an independent heaven. A safe heaven was thus formed.
It was Qin Mu's first time seeing Yan'er execute her ultimate art, and it was actually so strong. It blocked the returning flow of the dark celestial river and the force of attraction.
This girl usually caught gods and devils in the Primordial Realm to have a sumptuous meal, but Qin Mu had basically never seen her attack before. This girl was especially fond of serving people. Other than feeding, she also loved to tidy Qin Mu's clothes and smooth the creases.
Only now that Yan'er's abilities had burst forth did Qin Mu know how strong and terrifying she was. She was actually even stronger and fiercer than First Ancestor Human Emperor!
One had to know that First Ancestor Human Emperor was an existence on the Jade Capital Realm!
'I wonder how Sister Yan'er's abilities compare to Sakra Buddha.'
Qin Mu immediately increased his speed and rushed towards those two giant flowers.
He was more curious about the birth of Yan'er, who was gifted to Celestial Venerable Yu as a maid by South Deity Zhu Que. He thought to himself, 'To have both the bloodline of the vermillion bird and the green dragon... What is the relationship between Sister Yan'er, South Deity Zhu Que, and East Deity Qing Long?"
He blinked his eyes. This girl that liked to serve people couldn't be the daughter of South Deity Zhu Que and East Deity Qing Long, right?
As the daughter of two deities, she should have been as precious as a princess, so how did she get the habit of serving people?
Finally, they rushed through the gap between the petals before the two giant flowers closed completely!
Behind them, the petals completely closed and cut off the terrifying force of attraction from the abyss and the pressure from the dark celestial river. However, with the force of attraction and pressure suddenly vanishing, Yan'er couldn't control her body and ended up crashing ruthlessly onto the ground.
The small heaven that her primordial spirit surrounded was also destroyed. Qin Mu and the dragon qilin also crashed down and tumbled around on the ground. They crashed into a thick stamen and got bounced off onto another stamen, which bounced them back again.
The stamens were very soft, and even though they had a hard landing, they weren't injured at all. However, being bounced to and fro had still caused them to become rather giddy. Other than that, they were fine.
Qin Mu stood up and pulled Yan'er up. The dragon qilin also crawled up, only to find the ground beneath him soft. He took a step and saw that the ground there was actually soft as well. This made him click his tongue in wonder.
Qin Mu looked around. Compared to the outside world, this place was surprisingly serene and vast. The two flowers had formed two worlds that were connected to each other.
These two worlds were not small at all, and they were equivalent to the heavens that were in the outside world. However, there were no sun, moon, or stars in the sky.
Furthermore, even though it was completely dark in the Ruins of End, there was actually light here. One of the worlds was pinkish-red in color, while the other world was dark. They had landed in the red-colored world, and the markings on the petals weaved across one another in the sky. The markings were very strange, and those markings flashed continuously with red light.

Some people gasped, but in a blink of an eye, Yi Yun's figure slowly blurred before completely disappearing.

People looked with bated breaths as the after-images surrounded Yi Yun.

Many images and words appeared in Leylin’s mind, getting recorded and analysed  by the A.I. Chip. Soon after, the same happened to the pink shell. 

Two new documents were stored in the A.I. Chip after this process, making a  look of satisfaction to appear on Leylin’s face. 

The little person, however, looked heartbrokenly at the pile of ashes.  Gathering the complete set of information, as well as finding an expert to  record it into a storage system, had taken a large amount of effort and wealth.  [Beep! New folders recorded: ‘Path of Offerings’ and ‘Beast Spirit magic’  (incomplete)] The A.I. Chip’s prompt appeared. Leylin could understand the  incompleteness, after all a tiny shop like this wouldn’t normally have such  profound information. 

When he saw that the techniques led all the way to the Morning Star level,  Leylin was slightly shocked. In the Magus World it was extremely rare to own a  high-grade meditation technique with four complete layers. This was certainly  the greatest treasure you could find within a small scale shop like this. 

On the surface, however, Leylin still furrowed his brows in dissatisfaction.  “This information seems to be incomplete…” he said, causing the little person  to quiver in fear. 

“My lord, my lord! These two sets of information were sent over from the Hail  Continent. Both have been inspected by the Holy Land, and are most certainly  complete. With these, one can cultivate to the Morning Star level. There’s no  doubt about it!” The little person exclaimed resolutely. 

‘Morning Star? It seems as though the Purgatory World follows the Magus  World’s ranking system.’ Leylin nodded and asked, “Then how would I be able to  get techniques above the Morning Star level?” 

This question seemed to put the little person in a difficult spot, “My lord,  there are various races with techniques above the Morning Star level, but these  are considered absolute secrets. Even getting this set of information was quite  risky.” 

The little person had spoken immediately upon seeing the grim look on Leylin’s  face, and he continued, “Wait, my lord, I know! You can definitely find  something within the Holy City of the Hail Continent, which is also the city of  the Snake Dowager’s descendants. Furthermore, you belong to the Alabaster  Devilsnake clan, so you’ll make it inside without any problems.” 

‘The Snake Dowager’s Descendants? Holy City?’ These names surprised Leylin.  This was probably the Snake Dowager’s base camp. 

Though Leylin still needed more information, revealing his unfamiliarity with  the Holy City would raise suspicions. Moreover, killing this little person to  shut his mouth would attract guards and make things even more difficult. 

“The Holy City is too far away. Are there no other methods?” Leylin’s eyes  narrowed as he sized up this little person in front of him. 

“I’m sorry my lord, but there really are no other ways!” The little person had  a suffering expression, and Leylin confirmed that he was telling the truth and  did not pressure him any further. 

Immediately after, Leylin proceeded to wipe the store clean. The little  person’s life was in Leylin’s hand, so he could do nothing about it. 

‘Hm? A map of the continent? Though it doesn’t seem to be very detailed, it  will still prove useful… 

‘This should be the beast spirit of a Godric. So even souls of Morning Star  beings can be collected? Though it’s only in its infancy, this spirit can still  be used.’ 

“I’ll also take this, and this, and that,” Leylin’s insight allowed him to  eliminate all the good things from the shop. 

“My- My lord!” The little person called out in a sobbing tone. He felt  desperate as he saw all his collection of treasures disappearing, and he  secretly regretted letting Leylin even enter his shop. 

Leylin found the little person’s manner hilarious, “Who do you think I am? Do  you really think I’d rob you and have you call for the garrison or the guards?  After all, I know the rules of Port Elias well!” 

Leylin’s words frightened the little person even further, “Respected lord!  This little one didn’t mean to…” 

“Alright, alright! I already told you I’d pay, so just take this,” said Leylin  as he threw a bag of pink pearls to the little person. 

Neither magic crystals nor astral stones could be used as currency in the  Purgatory World. Thus, Leylin wouldn’t take them out and risk revealing himself. 

Since the Purgatory World was not unified, there were all sorts of currencies  and measuring systems in the different dignitaries’ territories. Consequently,  bartering was still the main strategy in long distance trading. 

While on Geiger’s ship, Leylin had gathered many deep sea items using his own  strength. Although it was just for fun, he had collected quite a few good ones  with the A.I. Chip’s assistance and his soul force. Geiger was left stunned  when he discovered this, and ended up purchasing most of Leylin’s items with a  pile of pink pearls. 

Leylin was also willing to sell them, and in exchange receive items of  equivalent value that could be used in this world. 

These pink crystals were very popular here and had very high value. One small  bag was enough to buy everything in this shop. 

“Many… Many thanks, my lord! Oh, my lord, you are like the stars in the sky,  the darling of the many dignitaries! Your greatness, selflessness, impartiality  and fairness will be immortalised in song and spread throughout the myriad of  worlds…” 

Seeing that Leylin was serious about a fair transaction and was not  threatening him, the little person became emotional. A song of praise for  Leylin sprang from his lips immediately, but that only made Leylin shudder with  goosepimples. 

“Alright, alright, now our deal is complete, I’ll be off!” Unable to tolerate  the little person’s singing, Leylin took his items and left. After all, sound  transmitted through soul energy was worse than harsh noise. 

*Crash!* After he left, the two large shells outside the shop closed and  abruptly began to move, falling into the ocean nearby and splashing water  everywhere. 

“Hm? Why is Old Cripple’s shop closing so early today?” A few passersby were  astonished, “Doesn’t he find joy in prying into his customer’s secrets? There  was even that saltwater octopus who was scared to the point of going mad…”

“It seems like this shop has quite a reputation? Though it doesn’t seem to be  a particularly good reputation,” Leylin shook his head speechlessly, and went  further inside the port. 

He could now confirm that the Snake Dowager was the dignitary that ruled over  the Hail Continent. He had to thoroughly plan how to conceal himself from her  and how to break his bloodline shackles. 

The first thing he had to do, however, was to settle down in Port Elias. The  night curfew here was very strict and if he did not get proof of his residence  before night fell, he would probably be forced to leave. However, he was only a  pink pearl away from resolving this issue.  …… 

When night fell, Leylin was standing on the balcony of a luxurious private  room in a hotel. He was gazing at the specks of light in Port Elias, and the  faraway lighthouse in the distance and the pitch-black sea. 

Near the port, many bright and beautiful images of every kind appeared, filled  with enchanting splendour. 

“It really is a prosperous and beautiful port…” Leylin’s eyes seemed to be  filled with a deep expression as he sighed lightly. 

After closing the curtains, he laid half his body down on the soft sofa and  sank into deep thought. The Snake Dowager was an unavoidable obstacle he had to  overcome if he wanted to break the bloodline shackles. Fortunately, she resided  in the Hail Continent. 

‘With my concealment techniques as well as the cover provided by the Mask of  the Dreamless, I should probably be able to hide from any large-scale soul  sweeps she attempts. Even within the Hail continent’s Holy City of snakes, I  might be able to hide myself as long as I don’t meet her personally…’ Leylin’s  eyes glinted. 

Not even beings who comprehended laws could quickly scan an entire continent,  let alone detect the life of every creature within it. Only if she reached Rank  9 would the Snake Dowager be able to do so. 

Right now Leylin was emanating the aura of an Alabaster Devilsnake. With this  layer of concealment, he could travel through the Hail Continent as if it was  his own back garden. 

Due to his research into bloodlines, Leylin was confident enough that even an  Alabaster Devilsnake itself would not be able to unveil his disguise. Unless,  of course, he came across a Rank 7 Alabaster Devilsnake or an Emperor. Leylin  knew, however, that the Snake Dowager would not allow the existence of such a  creature. 

“It looks like it’s necessary to risk entering the Hail Continent! I’ll need  to change my appearance.” Leylin had not altered his appearance on Geiger’s  ship, and afterwards he had just hid under his cloak in Port Elias. 

To be safe, he decided to change his appearance to sneak into the Hail  Continent. 

“I’ll need to add another layer of concealment to the Mask of the Dreamless.  In the Hail Continent, there will definitely be descendants of the Alabaster  Devilsnake with mixed blood. I just need to keep resembling them completely…” 

After thinking it through, Leylin looked gloomily at the large gray animal  statue on the tall mountain through his window, “What does the existence of the  Nefarious Filthbird here signify?” 

This was a port that belonged to the Hail Continent, yet people still followed  the Nefarious Filthbird. Leylin could not understand it, but the implications  presented here were worth ruminating over. 



Leylin is transported from an advanced technological era into a medieval world— except there’s magic.
