Readers Choice Awards is an annual contest where the world's best books are put for voting to the readers, that's why it has been named as READERS choice awards. We have been closely watching the voting process of this award. We realised that worldwide readers of the books which had been nominated participated for this contest to vote for their favourite books. The founder of Motivational Strips said 'A book is as good as a reader loves to read them". This statement plays vital role in today's world of books. Every year hundreds of thousands of book get published but the writers acumen in keeping the mind of the reader occupied is what takes a book to the threshold of success.
Thus this contest year on year is to win the POPULAR CATEGORY amidst the RC awards. Every reader looks at this aspect, year on year to see who takes the stakes for this category. The commercial value of a book comes to the public front when the Readers decide the winners. The authors who get nominated from across the globe are selected on the basis of their reader base and acceptance in the literary world. Every author trues hard to win the 'Popular Category' because only this category can reflect the authentic global readers verdict. It reveals the content quality, value, and marketability of a book to other readers. This category is very difficult to win, as the decision-makers are real readers. The readers judge the book best. So only those books which get read by them makes it to the top in this category. It's the toughest category and the most authentic one.
Apart from that, there are also commercial categories, which may be complimentary. They are not based on readers decisions but on the discretion of the of someone magazines. They are given away in kind to encourage and not disappoint some privileged ones who are loyal to these magazines. The readers are never taken into decision and are chosen by the magazine authorities. Though this category doesn't have much relevance, but helps many upcoming writers to get their reader base commenced. It's a honorary appreciation that are given away in surplus to the participants. (These Categories are awarded normally to encourage participants and based on good relations with the home magazine). All award committees in the world keep such categories to keep their entity running. The world needs to uplift some upcoming writers too.

It was 10 AM in the morning, I had a good sleep and a good quiet night. I got out of my dumpster and yawned, I saw a bunch of clothes and a bag with a lot of chips and water that is placed right beside my dumpster. I walked towards it and grabbed the note.
I grabbed the paper and started to read it, "Congratulations, Great_XiaoCheng! You have published chapter 43 of Unsolved Case Felicia, you can now have 3 days break with these rewards. Be sure to join the Event Announcement! Have a nice day-TSL."
"Oh, I forgot that I even had a reward after writing 2000 words. I  looked at the contents inside of the small bag. 
I put it in the dumpster and realized that there was an Event Announcement around 1 PM. I grabbed my phone in my pockets to check the time, It was still 10:21 AM. Few drops of water fell on my shoulder, I looked up--it was raining. I quickly undressed my top and take a shower using the rain, I looked up and let the raindrops hit my face. 
"I guess I'll just listen to the Event later this afternoon," I said to myself. 
It was 11:15 AM that the rain stops, I grabbed my dry new clothes in my dumpster and changed my clothing. I felt refreshed as if I was at home again, I quickly went back to my dumpster and was curious what's inside the mini bag, I grabbed it and saw a note near the zip of the bag. 
"Great_XiaoCheng! To open, put the bag down on the ground and unzip it to form a big tent"
I looked around and put the bag beside the dumpster, my eyes widened as a sudden big tent assemble as I unzipped the bag. 
I whistled, amazed. I quickly checked out the inside and it had a gaming console with games in it, I sat in the tent and started playing games. Writers like me need to have a chilling time.

With the sound of the raindrops drumming on top of my tent, I quickly grabbed my light yellow colored-hoodie on the bag. There was also the logo of the writer's community that I joined in, The Scripturient's League. There is also a brown sloth icon on the back of my hoodie that has my embroidered pen name on the center. Suits me due to the fact that I laze around if I'm not writing and not writing at all. 

The atmosphere made me want to sleep, I stopped playing and tried to take a nap, my phone ping as if a new notification appeared. I pulled my phone out of my pocket to check the notification.
"11 MINUTES BEFORE EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT STARTS. CLICK THE LINK TO JOIN" 
My eyes widened, I quickly sit up in my tent and clicked on the link. I grabbed a bag of chips on the bag as I'm directed to the link. There was a sudden notification again.

Chats appeared as I'm waiting on the live stream, few writers and authors join. I hovered my eyes on the side of the screen, there were 18k people were watching the stream. 
 The Scripturient's League logo--the writing community where I wrote my stories is on screen, I looked at the time. 1 Minute before the stream starts. 
I eat my chips as the stream started, I grabbed my hologram headphones to listen to the stream.
A brown loose wavy-haired woman around mid-20s is on the screen, smiling. A text appeared under the girl,  "Karyle Ashmore"

"Good day, everyone! I'm Karyle Ashmore, your editor-in-chief of The Scripturient's League. Today, we are very pleased to announce an event. We all knew that The Scripturient's League always held an event once a year, where one of you would get rewards. Before I dived into the main topic, our CEO would like to give a message. "
The camera switch to a man with light blonde hair appeared in front of the screen, he looked at the papers in front of him and put them aside. He rests his hand on the table. 
"Good day, everyone!"
A text appeared under the man, its reads, "Aku Shinichi" 
 CEO of The Scripturient's League. "I'm Aku Shinichi, the founder of The Scripturient's League"
"The Scripturient's League is an app and a website where all writers, readers partake in this community. For 3 years, I see the company grew and thank you all for joining and decide to be part of The Scripturient's  League. I highly encourage writers to join today's event, I knew that all of you have the creativity to make a world and have the magic to connect it to the readers. I wish all writers good luck with this event. Thank you" 
And the camera immediately switches to Karyle Ashmore, "Thank you for that message, our very own CEO of The Scripturient's League." 
"I'm sure a lot of you are very excited to share your new books filled with so much imagination and I'm also very excited to share with you, guys that we will be having another yearly event."
I forgot that they always have an event but I don't usually participate due to the lack of motivation that makes me laze around, I never tried to join any event that The Scripturient's League offers. 
"As we all knew, The Scripturient's League have an event last year and today is our 5th: Write it-- Scripturient's Competition Qualifiers! I'd like to tell you the rules, requirements upon your entries on this competition" Karyle grabbed a paper nearby and looked at it.
"First, about the genre and the theme. The main theme of this competition is "Starting Point"." Karyle said, I read the chats.

"I'd like to encourage every writer to write what is their interpretation of "Starting Point". Be creative as you can be. All genre such as Fantasy, Romance, Science-Fiction, Slice of life, etc is allowed. Anything explicit is automatically disqualified. " 
Karyle flipped the paper, her eyes on it. 
 
"And now for the entry chapter requirement, you will need to give us 5 chapters. Only 5 chapters that have a total of 3k words each chapter. Overall, you have to write 15k words"

The character's emotion and design and the world background are interesting enough for us, The Scripturient's League Editors, and much better if it could hook us. We would also leave feedback. Now for the rules"
"The rules are simple. Your entries must be English and original, reach the word count requirement, and submit them before the deadline. Plagiarism is not allowed.  If you get caught teaming up with another writer and doing collabs, you will be instantly disqualified." 
Tetsuki_032: When is the deadline for the entries? Was it the same before?
"Great question! Sadly, no. You will be given a week for the entry and The Scripturient's League will decide who will be qualified. To know if you are qualified, we will send a notification or an email. Once you are qualified, you will have opportunities that could help you to be part of the official writers of The Scripturient's League"

"Write before the deadline or lose a life span" that's what Shane Hiroki thinks. Being a top writer is what Shane Hiroki wants to be known for. After receiving a notification from The Scripturient's League, Shane joined and become a member of low-rank writers. 

Shane and his team compete with other talented writers with their daily quest where they have to meet its requirement and deadline or else the members of the team would  lose a life span and lose its points. 

Will Shane survive the competitions and become a top writer? 

This book is highly related to writers. The book includes racing word counts, timed- word mini games, and etc. Just a reader? Read this and you'll know the struggles of being a writer and who knows.. Because of this book, you want to be a writer.. or not.

February has always been a special month for me. Between my birthday, black history, amethyst and of course Valentine's day it's one of my fav months. And with the month of love right around the corner, I can finally unload all of the romance webtoons I've been stockpiling for just this special occasion. The romance genre has always been a wishy-washy subject for me. As someone who has never been able to find that young puppy love that lasts a good three months but somehow ends up feeling way longer and more expensive, I understand the appeal. But fortunately, I've seen enough writers to at least be happy to know that plenty of other writers have no idea what romance is either (*Cough*, Twilight,50 shades of grey, After and Chasing Red *Cough*) I feel like amid fanfic and ships that we've often mixed up love and lust, which is why I'm so happy that this webtoon manages to know the difference. Are you ready to get your game on? If so, then let's dive into this Let's Play by Mongie!


Summary


Enter Sam, a young woman who has loved gaming ever since she was little. She loved it so much that she worked countless hours to create an intricate indie puzzle game called Ruminate. And as soon as she did her idol, her god, her fav YouTuber THE Marshall Law reviewed her game and completely hated it. However, due to his toxic fanbase, the game was bombed to hell and back, thus leaving Sam heartbroken. And depending on how you see it, Sam wasn't going to be escaping the tragedy anytime soon because Marshall was now right next door in her apartment building.


Characters


Sam: Growing up in a very sheltered environment and having numerous health issues, Sam is an introvert and wimp to the bitter core. Her confidence is about as fragile as glass, which makes conflict incredibly hard for her and self-love even worse. However, what she lacks in confidence, she more than makes up for in her compassion and ingenuity. She is a highly capable worker and has been known to make bonds with people from all over. And with Marshall right next door for better or worse, she thinks that through his appearance, she will gain the confidence that she's always wanted.


Marshall Law: On the surface level, Marshall Law could be seen as another by the numbers game reviewer with a HYPERACTIVE VOICE. But throughout the series, we learn he hides a lot of sorrow behind that clown mask of his, and strength as well. Once he learns of Sam, he tries his best to fix the problem as best he can. In many ways, he is even more insecure than Sam, but through his relationship with his girlfriend Monica and his youtube channel, he battles against them.


The Good Stuff/ Overview


There is a lot to like in Let's Play, like a lot. The series has one of the best overall casts on the site, with each character being lovably unique and interesting, and giving a lot of different perspectives; you wouldn't think of normally. It, in many ways, is a story about moving on from loss and bouncing back and maneuvering through love while also facing the world head-on, which in many ways is a beautiful message. And yet despite all these severe themes, this series fully acknowledges the world that it lives in. I can't even count how many times the series has made a self-aware dig about classic romance and anime tropes. And if realistic portrayals of healthy relationships, love, abuse, depression, and self-aware meta-humor isn't your deal, then maybe you'll enjoy the countless video game references.


Sam and Marshall's daily life is constantly portrayed as a game (like a game of life?) from the 8-bit travel to their work or a range of emotive avatars to show how they feel inside. But what's probably even more prominent than all of that is the *ahem* "artstyle." While the art style for the environment isn't the best of the series, the fanservice is. The characters are drawn in a bold anime style that makes everybody sparkle. I'm not a prude or pervert or gay, but I find it so refreshing that a series has tasteful fanservice for both genders (*cough* Fairy Tail *cough*). Depending on the scenario, it can be flipping hilarious, sweet, hot, and, for the most part, subtle, which is what a lot of shows seem to forget. And in speaking with said fanservice, Let's play can show off various kinks and sexualities with the utmost respect, which I can also appreciate. Of course, they can only go so far, but I think it gets around it okay.


Epilogue


Overall Let's Play is a series that I don't see leaving anytime soon. It has over 16.8 million subscribers and has maintained a loyal fanbase in the short time it's been here with no sign of stopping. It's a great read and a perfect way to begin my Valentine spotlights. So all of my singles out there, grab yourself a box of chocolates, and let's see where the spotlight takes us next.

Just a simple person is trying to shine a little light on the beautiful world of webtoon. With a splash of sarcasm, narration, and spitfire along the way.  And who knows I might have other segments just for the hell of it.

Sinadya ko talaga na magpa-late sa may date dahil may plano ako para kay Ford. One more thing, nakita ko na ang girl and she's not my type.
"Hi guys! sorry for waiting Shaine." at tinapik ko naman ang balikat ng friend kong si Ford.
"Ayos lang yon." nakangiting sagot ni Shaine, ito yung mga smile ng mga babae na mahirap kunin ang loob kahit na they look friendly. Sila yung tipo ng babae na pagsisibakin ka muna ng kahoy para lang makapang-ligaw at hindi ako yon.
"Nako paano ba ako babawi sayo nito?" tanong ko kay Shaine.
"Support her bussiness syempre." sambit ni Ford na walang malay sa gagawin kong plano. Actually mamayang gabi ko pa sakanya sasabihin kung ano ang na sa isip ko and I'm sure papayag siya dahil kailangan niya at hindi na bago sakanya ang ganitong gawain.
"Okay, lahat ng andito ngayon give them coffee and pastry."
"Deal! Nakwento sa akin ni Ford na writer ka raw ng MT Pub?" what? so nareveal na yung identity ko? what if ireveal ko rin ang identity ng mokong nato.
"Yes. Ako si JustJames yung number 1 romance writer ng company. Nice to meet you!" pero sa tingin ko hindi na ako ang number 1 dahil magsusulat na si Ford ng romance.
"Oh my God ! Ah hindi kita nakilala agad! kung hindi mo pa sinabi ang pen name mo hindi kita marerecognize." it looks like na mahilig siyang magbasa.
"Talaga? mas sikat tong kasama ko oh." siniko ko si Ford bilang pang-aasar.
"Hahaha syempre hindi naman sisikat ang mga work niyo kung hindi dahil sakanila, marketing department."
"Ow, kung hindi mo naitatanong marunong din naman magsulat yan kahit papaano." kita sa mukha ni Ford na lumalaki ang mga mata niya. Anytime ay sasabog siya.
"Nice. Nga pala diba writer ka ng MT, so nakita mo na si Write Her?" hindi na bago ang ganitong tanong sa akin. Nakakasawa na nga minsan kasi lagi na lang name niya ang maririnig mo at natatakpan ang name ng ibang writers namin.
"Nope. I don't know him personally."
"James, I think we should go na, magpaalam ka na sa kadate mo."
"Bye Shaine. May irereto na lang ako sayo na iba." habang naglalakad kami palayo ay tinuturo ko si Ford sakanya. Ito yung sinasabi kong irereto ko na ikinatawa niya.
Tagaytay Bar and Cafe, 6PM

"Oh ano na yung sinasabi mong plano para sa book ko?"
"Ano sa tingin mo?"
"Kaya nga kita tinatanong, pero kung gusto mo ibigay yung iba mong gawa welcome naman sakin yan kaunting edit lang okay na."
"Ang kulit mo talaga, they will notice nga." marami akong drafts ng romance novel, ang problem lang kasi talaga ay mapapansin ng avid reader ko at niya yung difference, plus matalino pa nga yung reader kesa writer minsan, gamble yon kung gagawin namin.
"Eh ano? Kahit tips na lang siguro kung paano ko sisimulan."
"Hindi ako naniniwalang zero knowledge ka dahil dati ito yung sinusulat mo. Tapatin mo nga ako, nainlove ka na ba talaga? Yung halos mabaliw ka na kakaisip sakanya, walang biro, walang halong laro."
"Hindi pa?" seryoso niyang sagot na medyo may hesitation sabay inom ng tequilla na nagpapikit sa mata niya.
"Sigurado ka? Kapag sinabi kong na-inlove it doesn't mean na you need to be in a relationship ah. Just want to make things clear, majority ng tao ay na-inlove na. Pero love and infatuation is different. Maraming writers ang kayang magsulat ng romance kahit na they've never been in a relationship. In your case, sa mga nakaraang books mo pinag-aralan mo yung isusulat mo at naranasan mo rin silang gawin. Pero ibahin mo ang romance, mas maganda ito kung mismong ikaw naranasan mo or kaya naman may inspiration ka."

"See, eh paano mo yan magagawa sa romance?"
"Puro flirting lang ang alam ko."
"Masosobrahan ka sa kalandian, makukulangan ka sa true meaning ng love." sambit ko habang kumakain ng grapes.
"Anong gusto mong gawin ko? Na subukan kong mainlove?"
"Kuha mo rin!" sa sobrang dami namin pinag-usapan nakuha na rin niya ang gusto kong sabihin.
"Imposible, Kanino naman? kahit sinong babae naman ang makilala ko wala akong maramdaman."
"Pre, wala ka talagang mararamdaman dahil yung mga babae na sinasabi mo mga matearilistic lang yan at hindi naghahanap ng tru love. Bakit hindi mo subukan si Shaine?"
"Ha? gago ka ba?"
"Trust me! yung pagiging innocent ng babae na yon, yun ang magiging main factor ng story na gagawin mo." paliwanag ko sakanya.
"Teka, masyado siyang mabait para gaguhin lang-"
"Wow pare! sayo ko pa talaga narinig yang salitang GAGO? Eh samantalang sobrang dami mo nang ginago na babae."
Nagbottoms up ng tequilla sa baso si Ford, isa lang ang ibig sabihin nito, nahihirapan siyang mag-decide. Pero sigurado ako na papayag ito.
"Try natin." sagot niya.
"Ayon! ako bahala sayo. Kaya nga nagdala ako ng maraming libro about dating oh. Pero paalala ko lang sayo hindi ka pwedeng mafall ah."
"Minamaliit mo ba yung skills ko sa pagiging babaero?"
"Tol, ibang usapan na to dahil iba na yung kaharap mo ngayon. Sigurado akong hindi effective sa babae na yan yung mga diskarte natin sa club. Hindi siya yung ganong type ng babae."
"Kung ganon. Ano yung Plan A natin?"
"Masyado kang excited ah."
"Gago."
"First, kailangan mong magbigay ng mixed signals. Yung tipong sakanya lang yung attention mo pero the other day magiging cold ka naman. Huwag ka laging sweet dahil lalanggamin lang tong susulatin mo."
"What if-"
"What if ano?"
"Ah nevermind."
"Ano sabihin mo na kung ano yon. Teka nga lang, nagkaroon ka na ba ng crush? sabihin mong wala kakaltukan talaga kita."
"I had one noong college." sabi ni Ford habang nakatingin sa babaeng kumakanta sa stage ng Kathang-Isip.
"AHA! siya pala yung reason kung bakit ayaw mo ng magsulat. Huhulaan ko, nareject ka?"
"Oo. Crush ko yon noong first year hanggang sa mag fourth year kami, naging magkaibigan kami tapos ayon-"
"Umamin ka noong graduation? Masyado namang cliche yung story mo."
"She told me na hanggang friends lang talaga kami tapos sumama siya don sa poging varsity player. Ang huling balita ko noong nabuntis daw yung babae, iniwan siya ng lalaki at sinabing hindi niya anak yon." Now I know, kung bakit ganito na lang kasuccessful ngayon ang taong ito, puno ng sakit ang puso na naging way niya para ipagpatuloy ang buhay. Para patunayan sa babaeng ayaw sakanya na kaya niyang ituloy ang buhay ng hindi siya kasama.
"Bakit hindi ka nag-comfort kay girl noong time na yon? Malay mo iyon na pala yung chance mo para tanggapin ka niya."
"Mahal ko pa sarili ko." sagot niya na medyo naluluha at natatawa.
"Pero kidding aside. Bakit nga ba hindi mo na kayang magsulat ng romance, eh dati mo namang forte to?"

"One time gumising na lang ako na hindi ko na maigalaw yung ballpen ko. Kapag ibang bagay yung sinusulat ko doon ako nakapagsusulat. Trauma lang siguro?"

"Natry mo ng magpa-check-up sa may psychologist?"

"I did. Yun lang ang sinabi nila na kaya hindi ako makapagsulat dahil natatakot daw ako na masaktan."

"Grabe yung epekto sayo ng babae na to no."

"Sinabi mo pa!"
"Binigay mo kasi lahat eh." sambit ko. One thing na natutunan ko sa bagay na ito ay, dont give your all sa taong mahal mo lalo na at hindi pa siya sigurado sayo. Love yourself, magtira ka naman ng ulam para sa sarili mo, hindi yung okay lang sayo na lagi kang nauubusan. Sometimes hindi masama ang maging selfish.
"Pero hindi na ngayon."
"Ayan tama yan. Kaya pala sobrang babaero mo no!"
"Sila yung nag-first move well, wala akong magagawa." ani niya.

Ford, also known as “Write Her” is a famous writer in his mid-20’s. He was once a romance novelist, but because of what happened in the past, he decided to create different genres of novels – horror, sci-fi, fiction – anything which made him famous. His past was being rejected by his best friend; Jamie who made him stop creating romance novels. He went to Tagaytay and met Shaine who is his fan and a book café owner. To create a romance novel once again, he must experience falling in love and Shaine is the perfect girl for his plan. For that to happen, he must make the girl fall in love with him. What will Ford do when his feelings for Shaine come true instead?

Naming is a pain in the ***. People, cities, countries, worlds, universes, techniques, skills, levels, races, weapons, beasts, monsters and even currency all need to be named. After all that invention, nicknaming things, classifications, grouping, and remembering all the invented names is a drag in itself.

Making a plot is so easy, but remembering it as you write is another thing in itself. Distractions are coming from everywhere. The world in your head or the reality.

Deciding a genre is a pain in itself. Comedy, Romance, action is the bestway to go, because you like it. However, when it's time to add hilarious stuff in the story your brain freezes. When it's time for romance, you get envious of the people in your head. When it's time for action, laziness comes up and asks is it even needed? Hero wins all the time.

Grammar and punctuation are a hassle because of accidentally using Sms language and due to touch screen typos. Setting the tone of writing style is a hassle because you just wanna write on and on without caring about capitals or commas or full stops or paragraphing. The longer the sentence the better. Editing and proofreading is a pain in itself. Everything becomes stuck and the story is dropped never to be written.

Ideas are everywhere, thinking you can write is a big mistake. Keep on trying to write my good writers, for us poor readers. God bless you all. Writing is a pain, and those who enjoy that pain hats off to you.

Hi! Omg this is my first time writing a book and I hope all goes well.

First off, thankyouthankyouthankyou for picking up my story and if you're taking the time to read this pre-story chapter. As I've already mentioned, this is my first book, so I'm not exactly bursting with skill and confidence, but I hope I'll improve as the story progresses.

I'm trying my best to keep the chapter length consistent, so the word count will be around 700 to 1000 words per chapter. The upload schedule as of now will be 3 chapters a week.

Writers' block is awful, and pretty much inevitable. It creeps up on you like an unwanted mosquito you want to slap to death. If I ever get stuck and need a break, I will mention it.

Because I personally love and hate clichés, there will be some in here, but not too much of it. I know what the 'romance' tag says, but if a romance element is added, it will be much later in the story. 

Hugs to the people who are giving this story a chance. I will take any honest (painful) commentary or suggestions, but if you're just here to nitpick every flaw, GET OUT. Nobody and no story is perfect, and I will grow along with my story (I'm sorry, that sounded a tad dramatic).
