Her morning went more peacefully than she had expected, the rain held off until she entered her building so she was able to avoid getting wet. Considering the contradicting weather in Canada there was no certainty that this luck would last. In the morning it could be a sunny day but by the end there would be a full hail storm with the sun still up in the air. In the beginning of this job she wanted to keep spare clothes at the office just in case but hated the idea of it being accessible to anyone. At most, she kept a pair of heels under her desk for her to change into every morning.
Her office itself was a private business firm that mainly did consulting and took care of legal issues. It was tough work and included lots of reading but she enjoyed the fast face environment. There was also a fair bit of variety, in the morning she could be negotiating a simple licensing contract and in the evening talking to high profile criminals. She grew up watching crime documentaries and tv shows, it wasn't a hard decision when she went into law. It was partially a selfish decision, becoming a lawyer would award her a certain status and protection. The pay was also nice enough to stop her from being a complete stay at home potato. She liked to skim over her law school years because those were painfully long and were the darker times of her life.
It was quite ironic to her that she was spending so much time worrying about a potential stalker when she was in contact with bigger criminals everyday. The topics would range from money laundering to sometimes murder, yet she was never afraid of them because she held the power. They needed her for their trial so it would not do them any use to get rid of her. Her success rate was very high so she never worried about revenge after she failed either. There was a clear contract and discussion with the clients about her probability of success and what they would have to accept if they wanted her. All of this experience and interactions that part of her was surprised it even took that long for her to gain some criminal action in her life. Not that she hadn't had run ins with the law but after she had started working here there was nothing. So for around five years she was peaceful and that is why she took this incident more seriously. 
If there was one thing she learned is that to forgo an incident as a one time incident could lead to death. Especially as a coloured woman in this society she was already at a disadvantage. Finishing up her lunch she quickly refreshed herself before picking up her phone. There were at least twenty more minutes left of her break and she could use it to research. Pulling up Reddit she typed in "I think someone is stalking me" into the search bar and hundreds of different threads appeared. She knew a generic statement like that could trigger so many other posts but it was overwhelming how many there were. There were even posts from yesterday from a woman in the UK. What was nice that on Reddit you could post your problems and only really need to give age and sex as identifiers. It helped the readers understand better what was going on and the age dynamics at play. 
The first thread she saw was a thirteen year old girl describing her getting stalked at a local mall. Thought nothing of it, person did not look harmless till he went to the fake school name she gave and researched about her. She found out through a friend and in the middle of the night received a text message from this stalker saying "why did you have to lie about where you go to school."
'Oh my, this is what I mean when I say there is no real privacy anymore. That's so creepy.' The comments below were just telling her to keep records and tell her parents so that they can contact the police. Yet, while that was great advice for a thirteen year old it wasn't the same for a twenty-six year old lawyer. She already knew what they had advised but she was looking for something more. On a behavioural analyst perspective or self defence basis was her main intention. It was annoying that in Canada there were laws against weapons and the hidden variety so a pen knife for example was illegal. She couldn't carry anything inconspicuous without risking her job, even if she had it and no one knew it was fine. The issue was that she wanted to keep it and use it if need be, however the damage she does to them would be under question too. 
'This is so frustrating.' Switching in and out of different threads she began to skim them for any similar situations and any advice that would work from her. After 30 or more posts she closed her phone and rubbed her eyes in irritation. Her brain hurt from all the back and forth in her mind from both thinking she was doing too much and doing too little. The best test would be to carry her umbrella like a weapon and hope that no one follows her back home. If they do then she can confirm that she is being followed for sure and probably stay over at a friend's house. She did see that a lot of people asked their friends to take them to their car, she could enlist a couple of her coworkers until the subway at least. 'Okay that's enough I'm done thinking about it for now.'
Pushing her personal phone back into her work drawer she went back to her work. There was a pile of contracts sitting on her desk and all were new cases she hadn't seen before. Just as she was getting into the rhythm she felt a coworker tap her on the shoulder. Looking back it was one of the secretarial staff in the building. They weren't close friends but definitely on friendly terms since Jane and her started around the same time. 
"Hey, Jane what's up?"
"There's a package for you in the front, I was going to bring it to you but the mailman insists you sign off."
"A package for me?"
"Yeah....but its a bit weird."
"What do you mean?'
"Well....come see for yourself."

So I was watching videos on the couch. Then since I felt sleepy, I decided to take a nap. From there, I had the dream.
I was cuddling the fluffiest puppy ever! It was so cute!!! Its fur was also so soft and felt so so good to pet. It was perfect.
Until my gosh darn moron of a brother woke me up! By laughing like a stupid piece of garbage! The nap only lasted 20 minutes! It was no way long enough!
And guess why he laughed. He laughed because of some Reddit memes! Reddit memes!!!
He woke me up from the best dream ever because of some Reddit memes!!!
I have never wanted to kill someone so badly! Ugh!
Writing this down is just making me even more mad!

Summary: This is mostly just to pass the time. There really isn't any plot. Just have fun reading it and that's all!

I started getting bored with chaos magick, well not bored so much as getting used to it. I need constant change otherwise I get bored. I need puzzles, I need adventure, I need.... superpowers?

I decided to look into psychic abilities, telekinesis, telepathy, astral projection, things like that. Although they fall under chaos magick they are technically a specialization of their own, called psionics.

As with usual I set out to do research on the subject in preparation for practicals. To get any good information on psionics is a pain in the ass, to say the least. A simple google of the phrase "psionics" lead me down a path of D&D and XCOM, neither of which had any roots in reality so google was utterly useless. I turned to Reddit and its community of wonderful people. Truthfully speaking Reddit is one hell of a source when it comes to occult studies, just don't ask about demon summoning. I asked about psionics on a group r/psionics. It is there where I met the person I will come to call master(u/boxofmelons), although it kinda annoys him.

Psionics has a lot of similarities with chaos magick and yet they are also quite different. Psionics is about using your chakras (and chi if you want to) whereas chaos magick is more about tricking your subconscious into performing magickal acts. I chose psionics exactly for that reason. I needed training in energy manipulation and I felt that psionics would be best suited for the job. It was through my master that I started learning about my chakras and psi. I learned how to feel the energy and manipulate it. On his Reddit page, he had exercises aimed at beginners to teach the basics.

I asked him why he doesn't have more tutorials and he said that it's because every person is different so there is no "one fits all" way to doing psionics. So this is where psionics is quite similar to chaos magick. You can manipulate techniques to fit you and still get the same result its not necessary to go dig up a million-year-old book on a technique for manipulating your energy.

I read all his posts and I went and read as much as I could on the Reddit page. Because the information on Google was so diluted, finding this Reddit page was like striking oil. I absorbed as much as I could in preparation for starting with my practicals.

that is all I seem to do while I am stuck inside.
I did see a post from my school about the thing that is happening at bean@bility this week and I am interested to come. the lockdown has driven me to boredom since I am missing events that made me an active person when going out.
witching to the discord tab I decided to see what is going on in Avi's server so I could keep my sanity without losing it in the process. exiting my room I decided to put my breakfast in the sink as I watched some video's on the USB stick that I had plugged into my tv when I got back. videos like mark. jack and other YouTubers that I love. I also use it for music pics and anime as well so I can be resourceful about building my mancave that is filled with Miku and Starset for the pc.

I decided to log in to my Facebook and see what was happening on my Facebook feed. my feed is filled with anime, news, bands, shows, and movies that I have followed since I was on there a year back. the 1st post I am welcomed with is a post from Sao showing fan faves Yuna and Eiji who are in War of Underworld. as for Yuna. yeah, she appeared in the Sao movie. and I would love to collab with her when I am in the world of Sao.
the next post is from the anime Konosuba and it is a funny post about tea. never seen the show or films. but I do plan on binging it after seeing all of fate and Sao. and as for the no game no life anime. well... it is banned cause it refused classification.
the next post was from one of my fave artists who goes by the name of Mike Shinoda. and from what I saw. he was making music for GamesCom and it is said that he is making the theme for it as well.
and as for Linkin Park. they are doing something for there 1st album of 2020 as a celebration that is in the form of an old laptop computer. and I am hyped for it since I know they went dark since Chester died 3 years ago. and yes it was a sad day to remember that but hey at least Miku is the one who makes me smile.
and as for the thing that is happening in Victoria right now. well, the cases have started to spike and that is not all. panic buying is now returning and is also turning chaotic as we speak. and it is sad to see the days getting darker for them since this world is broken.
logging out of Facebook I decided to see what was happening on Reddit when I logged in. and while I did that I decided to put on Spotify for my chill sessions when I am vibing to my music as well. checking Starset I noticed that the debut album transmissions was now missing from there profile. and in my mind, I knew it was going to be hidden since they signed with fearless records. moving over to Dustin's side project titled MNQN I decided to play one of the songs from the 1st album as I began my 1st vibe and chill session while online and on the web.
my Reddit was filled with art, music, gaming, entertainment, anime, and mostly lewd stuff as well. and yes I am 20 years old so I do enjoy this type of stuff when it comes to what sub I join. and I do post on there and give upvotes and downvotes on posts as well from time to time. including the ones that I report from offensive users who are from that sub. not gonna go into detail but let's just say I did throw a feedback post in the Starset subreddit. as for my kama. I have 7.8k since my posts gain attention from the community that sees it.

Guys, I need your opinions about what to do regarding my love life.
I never had a boyfriend before so I needed your help.
 I had a best friend who confessed to me that he was interested to be my boyfriend. 
Let's call the guy (I'm just going to pick a random word) Key.
Key was very sweet, caring, and protective and we had known each other for two years.
Even if we already knew each other that long, sometimes I feel like I didn't know him.
He was mysterious and secretive.
 A little bit overbearing at times and I don't want to assume but I think he gets jealous easily.
He just broke up from his ex-girlfriend just days ago in front of everyone at school and he told me that he broke up with her to be with me. I like Key but I didn't want to be a rebound. 
I can't be a rebound for my first relationship, you see.
Now, this other friend of his, let's call this guy Brush, was also a hottie like Key but I'm not sure if he was serious or he was playing around either. His motives are kind of sketchy but he had given me flowers and gifts for no reason aside from an apology. He's kind of a prankster and I see him as too flirtatious but weirdly enough, I hadn't seen him doing that to other girls. Either way, I don't want to assume that I was special.
Now, this third guy, his name is R—I mean, let's call him Aries. I didn't know him because we aren't even that close. I think I probably interacted with him five times but, there were no moments where we were left alone together. I don't even know what his powers—I mean—what his charms consist of, hehe.
I got a random text from him today and he told me that he would join Brush and Key in wooing me.
They called it the Dating Games.
In my mind, I think that I have been played here—like it was some sort of a bet.
I don't know. I don���t know what to do about them.

"What sizes, Cass?" There was a sudden deep voice from behind me and I jumped.
I was too startled that it became an immediate reaction.
I had squealed in the middle of the class.
No, I realized as I looked around the room.
Pairs of eyes stared right back at me as my classmates rummaged on their backpack, shoving their books and notebooks inside. 
The class had ended and I didn't even notice.
Did the bell ring?
That was impossible to miss, unless, I was deaf.

 If he saw that, it's going to be embarrassing.
Thankfully, the screen was locked.
Lysander had moved behind me, looking over my shoulder.
I turned to look at his expression and the handsome bastard was giving me his signature Cheshire Cat grin.
"I was curious about the word 'sizes' I have seen on the screen earlier," Lysander said out loud—too loud--startling me out of my thoughts.
 My classmates were now looking over at us, trying to find out what the commotion was all about.
Clearing my throat, I replied in a low voice but still managing to sound indignant. "There are no sizes."
 I think other students in the vicinity still heard that, shooting me curious glances and raised eyebrows from both female and male students.
Argh. 
Now they would think I was a pervert.
"Are you done?" Lysander poked me at the side of my belly and my brows furrowed in annoyance.
 Nevertheless, he must be having a blast pissing me off because he had angled himself even closer until I could smell the almond and chocolate scent from his uniform.

The more I spoke, the more Gabriel's pupils narrowed.

After the rumor of the epidemic at Eastern State surfaced online, despite the admin's quick reaction, the news travelled too fast among the netizens to be stopped. That night itself, the government came out with an official statement to stamp the rumors, 'there is no epidemic case at Eastern State! The group of people in cotton outfits are not suspected patients but members from the disease control centre. The quarantine cars were there for normal protocol investigation. Please do not worry and spread untrue rumors.' 
However, with the possible severity of the situation, the government statement was practically useless. The citizens at Eastern State were like leaves in fall, collapsible at any moment. It was not until 3 days later when there was no official lockdown and no upgrade in security measures that the tension eased. Then the citizens started to turn their attention to complaints. Why were the members of disease control dressed so strangely? What were they up to? 
In the past 3 days, Chen Jiahwa cooped up at home with anxiety. With nothing else to do, he turned his mind to the future and second doubt started to settle in regarding his medical study… But other than the pain of re-examination, there was his stubbornness of youth, he refused to lose face among his parents and friends. The epidemic was everything people would talk about these days, so his friends knew he had been accepted by a medical university. If he bowed out now, how was he going to show his face among his friends again? 
Would he dare to rush into the outbreak as a frontline worker? He had no answer. Chen Jiahwa was conflicted and he rejected invitations from his friends to go out for they would only mess up his mind further. So he spent all 3 days at home. He sat before the computer and refreshed the browser constantly for updates online. He used firewall to go through the government limitation and used google translate to obtain international news. 
Bill Thompson, an American posted on reddit, "The people back at my hometown have all died, this is so surreal. They are all good people, some go to church daily. If God is real, why would he do this to us?" Deena Boulder offered a conspiracy, "Is this epidemic as simple as it looks? Why did the fatality rate during the first 2 days be maintained at 100 percent but it dropped so steeply after that? The markers are too unrealistic, this does not follow any medical logic! Until now, no one has responded to this anomaly, it's like the government does not think this is an issue. What are they hiding? We need an answer!" Chen Jiahwa scrolled through many threads. The netizens, media and political mouthpiece were hounding their government for an official statement. Facing these charges, many government officials had come out to face the media to give their explanation but most were just government talk. This angered the public further and it threatened the political stability of some countries. There were videos of Americans organizing street demonstrations but there was a link to another video that caught Chen Jiahwa's attention.
"Huh?" He clicked on it. "For real?!" The video was taken at London, the international city bequeathed with the name, City of Fog. London was not affected by the epidemic. There was a strange similarity regarding the places that were hit by the epidemic, it only affected smaller cities with limited population. No one understood why. 
But now…"Oh my God!" Chaotic screams came from the video of London Streets. As the camera panned, there was billowing dark black fog everywhere, it blurred everything in sight. The cameraman gasped in shock. "The fog arrived less than 10 minutes ago. It's everywhere now!" 
Fog? Industrial pollution? Chen Jiahwa frowned, his heart skipped nervously for some reason… He did not know London that well but he knew industrial pollution ended after the industrial era, so this should not happen now. Most factories had been moved to 3rd world countries, so why would there be a sudden black fog that descended over London? Was there even a natural fog that was black in color? What was its nature? Poison? Atomic waste? What did this mean for London?
Even through the screen, Chen Jiahwa's heart palpitated with fear. It must have been worse for the citizens of London. In the video, some were screaming, others praying. Silhouettes of the London police appeared in the fog. The cars could not move due to low visibility. The traffic jammed. In the comment sections, the global netizens exploded but no one could come up with a valid theory. Was this the start of another epidemic or was this a different mutation of the legionella pneumonia? 
"Is there really a hidden conspiracy behind this epidemic?" Many netizens opened up discussion about this and naturally it crossed Chen Jiahwa's mind as well. This kind of speculation had appeared earlier. Could it be the work of some unknown power like alien intervention? Conspiracy theories filled the web but none had actual evidence. But evidence was staring them in the face? What could be the explanation behind this? 
Suddenly, there was a wave of new video uploads from another big city. This time it was happening at New York, another international city, which was also spared from the legionella pneumonia. In the videos, endless birds covered the sky of New York city. There were so many of them that they blotted out the sun. They cawed eerily. The birds died in mid air and landed on skyscrapers, streets and people. Rigor mortis set in before they even hit the floor. 
Birds could be contagion carriers, so that was another thing to worry about. But… this whole thing was certainly not normal. 
The people of New York were running frantically for cover. Watching the video, Chen Jiahwa was lost. What was happening to this world…
"Jiahwa, this is big news!" His phone vibrated, it was a message from his friend. "Look at the videos shared in our group!" 
He opened the chat group. The videos were those of London and New York. Looks like he was not the only one surfing the forbidden internet. His friends were all discussing this new development.
"That has to be a special effect! Probably a promotion for some new movie."
"But what about those people? Will they spend so much on extras for a promo?"
"There are international news articles on these incidents, they are both real."

I never really expected much from life but I guess no one really expected much from me, either.
As a kid, I always was the weird kid for not trying to start relationships with other people. I mostly just skated through life. For good reason, though.
As far back as I could remember my luck has been...abysmal at best.
Any time I tried to make friends with someone, something bad would happen. Nothing too crazy if you don't count that one time in first grade I accidentally tripped and knocked my entire lunch on a girl I was acquainted with. Oh, or that other time I was laughing at a popular kid's jokes and spit my milk all over him. And that time in second-grade physical education when I threw a ball in dodgeball and it ricocheted off of at least five kids' heads. Yeah, some of them received light concussions from that...
If you still think that it was just coincidences or all in my head, then what about that time in freshman year when I was joking about Todd Forester just to find out he was in the hospital and needed serious surgery that day. Or when one of the popular girls invited me to Prom and stood me up. Okay, maybe that one was just a coincidence but it still hurt me for years!
Don't even get me started about my early college years! My life was starting to look up as I managed to skip a grade and start college earlier. A new face in a sea of strangers. I was finally going to turn my luck around and I did at first. Nothing too bad happened, and I even got my first girlfriend. So far so good!
I majored in Computer Science and minored in Web Design. I even helped start some successful projects with some new friends. We were gaining a lot of traction on Kickstarter. Our effort was just starting to bear fruit. Eventually, we made and released the mobile game we made called Arcadian Records. It became a hit especially with those who were fans of Gacha games.

I only helped with getting the Kickstarter and website together so I didn't gain too much money or fame. They even forgot to list my name in the credits, but I digress.
I was still happy that my life was turning around.
Well until one day my girlfriend came to me asking to break up. She had told me that she suspected me of cheating and had proof. When I had asked her to show me the proof, she couldn't but still insisted that we should break up.

Before I knew it, I gained a sort of following online as the Bug Fix King. They often praised my work as both quick and efficient. I was happy again. This is what I would be known as.
I often flaunted my know-how and bug fix techniques to my co-workers to their dismay. Eventually, I was called to Human Resources many times for being 'obnoxious 'and 'rude.' I tried to tone it down after that but the power was getting to me.
For the first time in my life, I was in power. I was liked and not bullied. I felt in control and Reddit was fueling my ego and self-worth. I couldn't just stop. They must be in sheer awe of the Bug Fix King. Of course, that must be it.
So, whenever a co-worker asked me for help in identifying what kind of bug they had and what kind of fix was needed for it, I just told them. Of course, I would only tell them if they referred to me by my Reddit Handle: Bug Fix King.
I was once again called to Human Resources.
"You're fired."
"Wait, what? Why may I ask?"
The secretary at the desk stared deeply into my eyes causing me to sweat intensely.
"Let's see where to start, shall we?" She was in a black office swivel chair, the same as the last time I saw her. She moved along the floor with ease as she rolled aside as she leaned over to open a filing cabinet.
She was wearing a black blouse over a white buttoned-up shirt. The first two buttons weren't buttoned so her skin was exposed revealing a bit of cleavage. I couldn't help but try to get a little peek. ' I can't believe it has been six months since Jess broke up with me...I haven't even been on a date in over half a year! I wonder would she go on a date with me. No, wait, what am I talking about! She's about to fire me after all...'
She pulled out a large manilla folder causing me to immediately jump back.
"I wasn't looking or anything! I promise!"
The secretary cocked her head to the side with a confused look on her face.
"What are you talking about, Mr. Armeyer?"
"Nothing. Nothing at all..." I quickly shift myself in my seat. "So, how are you?"
The secretary continued to give me a look. Her eyebrows slightly raise as she looks at me like I'm a madman. 
'Maybe I am turning into a lunatic..."
"I am fine, Mr. Armeyer. Now here is a list of all of the reports from your co-workers about your recent behavior."
"My recent behavior? But, I don't think I have been treating my co-workers badly or anything." She hands me the envelope as I open it up. 'There's a lot of papers in here...Wait, and they're all about me?!'
I continued to flip through the files as I scanned them all over. 'Why are there so many? What the heck! I have only been a loyal worker through and through? And some of these go back a couple of months. This one is the worst of them all!'
I pull one of the files and put it in front of the others. At the top is a name I was more than familiar with. It was the name of a co-worker I've been friendly with recently. Marcus Porter, a new co-worker I recently started to mentor here.
'Even Michael, huh?' I felt betrayed and quite possibly, bamboozled. Every day, I shared all of my best bug fixes with him and even gave him a personal recommendation to our District Manager. I know I'm awkward sometimes and I have bad interpersonal skills, but I'm willing to work on this!
"Please, give me another chance! I don't want to be a jobless person who spends all their time reading manga or light novels in their room all day! Onegai! Er, I mean please!"
The secretary could only shake her head at me, even as I was on the verge of tears.
"If this was your first or second offense, then I would be all for giving you another chance but you've been here more than twice. Honestly, you were going to be fired sooner but due to your amazing track record we continued to employ you."
I couldn't understand what I was hearing...I was going to be fired and lose my dream job. But wait they can't fire me yet! It's just as she said, my amazing track record is too great! If I were to bring that up...'
Just as I was about to open my mouth, she stopped me.

"If you are going to tell me something like 'how are you going to replace someone like me', then you can forget it. We already have just the person to replace you. You should already know him since you taught him everything you knew."
'No...it can't be...'
"We have chosen Marcus Porter to be your replacement. He has already accepted your old position and is all ready to start tomorrow morning."
Her words broke me. 'Marcus...you bastard! How could you? I placed you under my care and you backstab me like this!"
"You can pack up all of your things and head home. Your final check will be in the mail. Have a wonderful day, Mr. Bug Fix King."
"Alright...Wait, w-what did you just say?"
"I said have a wonderful day, Mr. Armeyer"
"Will do..." I quickly went back to my desk to gather my things. 'I probably just misheard her or something. It's not like anybody here knows my online persona or anything. Even if they did, It's not like it would change anything.'
I gathered all my stuff in an old storage box we had lying around in the office and drove home.
"Haah~ I can't believe they fired me...At least I have some savings gathered up but how long would that last."
I couldn't help but start to feel lost again. The first time in a while where I had little to nothing else to put my time into. Well, besides Reddit and video games.
'Speaking of, I wonder how those guys are doing...I haven't really talked to them since college. That, and the game becoming super successful.
I decided to sit down at my computer in my room. I flipped the light switch and was greeted with my messy room. There were shirts and other articles of clothing littered around that I had forgotten to put away. 'Well, it's not like I forgot per see. I've just been so into work...No, I don't even want to talk about work so let's not bring that up right now.'
I decided to make my way to the computer and the first thing I saw was my wallpaper. The one with both me and Jessica in it.
"We looked so happy then..."
It took everything I had to quickly open up a tab to hide the wallpaper in front of me. Though this wasn't a permanent fix, it was all I could think to do at the moment. I would change the wallpaper but I would also be running away from my past. I would be lying if I said that I no longer had any feelings for her anymore. Some part of me still wishes we could get back together.
I decided to quickly clear my mind as I thought about what to look up.
'Well after a long, hard day at work, why not unwind with something nice, huh? Come on, it's been so long since you've last done 'it', right? So, what are you waiting for?'
I couldn't help it. I couldn't hold myself back any longer. These urges were beyond any modern mortal's control! They were now a way of life.
My fingers danced across my keyboard as I typed in the same keywords as I have always done. It was almost like clockwork.
I hit the enter key.
I was now ready to do 'it'.
I was now ready to play video games again.
I was greeted with the same words just as I had remembered they sounded like.
"Welcome to Arcadian Records, brave player!"

Jacob Armeyer was a 23-year-old freelance game designer. One day he had gotten a job to work on another bug in the sequel to the hit mobile game, Arcadian Records. After hours of looking for the bug, he found nothing and went home deciding to try again the next day. On his way back, however, he was suddenly knocked onto the ground by an escaping robber. Have you ever heard of Geocaching? Without going into too much detail, Geocaching is basically a game where strangers all over the world hide items, provide GPS coordinates for said items and let others find them. So a person takes something, an old toy or, I don't know, a pair of scissors, packs it up, hides in a hard-to-find place, provides coordinates at geocaching.com, and the rest of the world is welcome to try and find it. Here's a two minute video explaining the game.(https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1YTqitVK-Ts) 

Now, I am not an adventurous spirit, at all. I'd rather lie in my bed until every damn link on Reddit is purple. But my wife is completely opposite. She used to be a flight attendant and she'd travel all over the world, experiencing all these different awesome adventures. However, since she married me, she's gotten a "real" job and has been stuck in the same city (Atlanta) for a while now.

So I decided to do something for her. As most other men, I get all of my travel ideas from Groupon. After few pages of suggestions, I decided to go with a nice hotel package at St. Simon's island, Georgia. The place is only few hours from Atlanta and Trish loves beaches, so it was an easy decision.

I wanted to make the trip even better for Trish so I looked for "fun" ideas on Reddit (where else) and came upon this Geocaching stuff. I quickly created basic account and was very happy to find that there was an item hidden right in St. Simon's island. I was excited. We left five days ago.

First two days of our vacation were spent eating shitty food, drinking lots of alcohol, and watching whatever Redbox had to offer. On the third day (out of 5) I decided to tell Trish about my adventure plans. She was incredibly excited to go searching for the hidden treasure of St. Simon's island.

After we ate close to 3 racks of ribs from local bbq shack, I entered GPS coordinates into my phone and we started driving. St. Simon's is a fairly small place, so after 5 or so minutes of driving, we were already close. We drove up to the main beach parking lot, where it became obvious that the rest of the hunt would have to be done on foot.

We must've walked through the sand for at least 30 minutes because we started getting cold and even a bit frustrated because we weren't seeing any signs of treasure out there. Then, Trish saw fire in the distance.

"Should we go?" she asked.

"I guess so," I answered. Now I wish I hadn't.

We approached the fire and realized that nobody was there. While it was strange, we were getting pretty cold and warmth of the flames was certainly welcomed.

"Let's call it a night, maybe we can check tomorrow, when we can actually see?" Trish asked.

"Sure babe, sorry."

"Oh no, I loved this, we're definitely coming back tomorrow."

As I stood up, I noticed something shiny in the sand by Trish's foot. I started pulling. It was somewhat heavy.

"Look!" I got excited. "Perhaps this adventure thing is cool," I thought.

I pulled the whole thing out. It was a… it was an English Dictionary wrapped in a ziplock bag.

"Is that it?" Trish asked as she kneeled down, all excited.

"What else could it be?"

As I was about to tear the bag, I heard someone in the distance. It sounded like yelling or screaming, wasn't sure.

"You hear that?" I asked Trish as I stood up.

"Yeah, look" she answered pointing into the distance. I could see a dark silhouette running towards us.

"Fuck" was my first thought, not sure why.

The person got close enough that I could tell he was running.

10 seconds later I realized it wasn't a he, it was a girl almost sprinting towards us.

"Run" she yelled as she got close enough that I could see fear on her face.

"What?" Trish asked while grabbing my hand.

"Run, now." Girl mumbled while she struggled to catch a breath. She was now standing in front of us. She was unusually tall for a girl, maybe 6'2".

"Run where? Why?" I asked. I swear my heart rate went up in a blink of an eye. You know how when something big happens you feel the rush of blood to your face and your heart starts racing?

"Look, I can't explain it to you, but you need to go, right fucking now. And drop that thing" she hissed as he pointed at the ziplock bag.

And just as I was about to ask her again about what in the fuck she was talking about, she stopped breathing heavily, and all of the emotion got wiped off of her face. She was now looking at the line of trees where the beach ended behind us.

"It's too late now" she said still looking at that scarce forest.

Look guys, if this were the first weird thing to ever happen to me, I'd probably tell this girl to go fuck herself and slowly walk away. But if I had learned anything from my previous experiences, it is that I shouldn't take strange things lightly.

"We gotta go," I told Trish. She looked absolutely terrified.

"Too late now," the girl said. "They're here."

"Who is?" I asked, but the girl didn't acknowledge me. I looked around for anything we could use to defend ourselves. All my racing mind could pick was a wooden stick that was lying close to the fire.

"Listen, please, help us. Please," Trish whispered for the first time. It was almost as if she had realized the danger we were in. I pulled her closer to me.

The girl actually took her eyes off the trees for a second. "Go in," she said pointing at the water. "And don't make a single sound."

Again, few years ago I would've just walked away, but not today, not after all the shit I've seen. But the freezing ocean? At night?

"Come on," Trish said as she pulled me towards the water. "Give me your phone, quickly." Honestly, I was surprised at her intuition to lead. She would always take the back seat in our horror experiences.

She threw both of our phones in the ziplock bag as we started walking into the water. God damn was it freezing. When we got in to our hips, I was ready to walk back out. Rather face "them" than hypothermia. But Trish kept pushing. She feared that what was coming out of the tree line was far worse.

We got in deep enough that we had to start swimming. I turned around towards the beach. We were few hundred feet away from the fire, hidden deep in the dark. The girl was still standing in the same spot.

"Look," Trish whispered as she pointed at the trees. Several silhouettes appeared from the dark.

"Quiet now," I whispered back, struggling not to make noise while staying above the water.

Three men walked out of the forest. We were close enough to make out basic details: two of them wore identical clothing - what I assume was a Muslim outfit – a one piece white robe or dress, whatever you call it. The third man wore an all-black robe and a black turban – he also had a long beard.

They walked up straight to the motionless girl. We could hear the two men in white yelling at her in a language neither of us understood. The girl didn't make any noise. Then, the silent man in black walked up to her, not saying anything. The girl just fell to her knees in front of him and started sobbing.

By this time, I was fucking freezing, and I can only imagine Trish doing even worse. But I gotta say, she surprised me at how well she was handling the whole situation. I wasn't sure if she was shaking out of fear or cold, or both.

The man in a black robe turned around and nodded to the other two, who ran up to the girl, grabbed her by the shoulders, and started dragging her towards the trees. She started screaming. Man, I can't even begin to describe those screams. It was far worse than anything I've ever fucking heard. I was very close to yelling and swimming back to the shore, but truth be told, I was selfish. I wanted Trish to be safe, and I cared more about her than the woman I've never seen before.

And just as they were about disappear in the tree line, the worst fucking thing you can imagine happened. Stingray, or some other nightly ocean-dwelling creature touched Trish foot. She didn't exactly scream, but she released audible enough sound to send chills down my already frozen body. I grabbed her mouth while struggling to stay above the water and looked over to the trees.

Fuck.

The men had stopped and turned around towards us.

The woman they were dragging was now completely silent.

That man with the black robe started walking towards the water.

"It's gonna be ok babe, I promise you," I whispered to Trish. Her eyes were so wide, man, fuck, it was awful seeing your wife terrified beyond belief and you couldn't do shit about it.

I turned to the beach and realized that everything might not be ok. The man had a flashlight.

Now, I could tell you that we dove under water as the man pointed flashlight at us. You know, Rambo style. But that shit doesn't work in reality. I mean, I did try diving along with Trish, but when we ran out of air and came back up to the surface, the light was shining right in our faces.

Trish started crying silently.

"Yallah!" the man in the black robe yelled. I have a few Hebrew friends and I knew that meant something along the lines of "let's go." I couldn't believe it. The men turned around and walked into the dark tree line, taking the girl with them.

I didn't waste time thinking about what happened. We were about to freeze in that fucking ocean.

We slowly swam then walked out at the beach, and while completely exhausted and frozen, we weren't gonna wait around for them to come back. As fast as we could, we ran to the car and sped back to the hotel. Hot bath and four cups of hot cocoa and Bailey's later, we calmed down.

I won't transcribe the full dialog between Trish and me, but we discussed if we should call the police and what we would even tell them if we did. We decided to go to the police station the next day and then head home afterwards.

Here's the strangest part- the English Dictionary I found in that ziplock bag? When I opened it I realized that it wasn't a dictionary, it was a safe disguised as a book. I took pictures when we got back home (below).

We woke up really early in the morning. At first, my brain didn't even remember last night's events. When it all started coming back, it was too surreal to believe. I mean, I had trouble trusting that the shit happened; I can only imagine how much you don't believe me.

We packed up and went to the police station.

I told the cop at the counter the whole story and he didn't seem too fazed by it. He noted it down and said that there have been few reports of pranks in this area, so our case was most likely just that, a prank on naïve tourists.

I wanted to believe him, so I left it at that. I didn't really care, to be honest; I just wanted to get home, far from this place.

The whole ride home was completely silent, mostly because Trish slept and I had nothing to say. Driving good 15mph over the speed limit, I got us home in record time. The rest of the day was equally quiet but not uneventful. I decided to open the ziplock bag. What I saw made me seriously question if what was happening had anything to do with my past.

I didn't have the key, but the quality of this safe is obviously not very good, so I was able to pick it with just Trish's tweezers. Fuck, I should have left it locked and threw that shit out when that girl told me to.

Here's the thing. You know that supernatural and I don't mix well. I don't believe in that shit, and I know that there must be a rational explanation for everything. But for the life of me, I can't figure out how our framed picture ended up in that box. How could anyone possibly know we were going to find it that night, at that exact location?

Trish is currently visiting her aunt who lives near Atlanta, and I think that she needs to stay away for few days. I am planning to give that cop from St. Simon's a call and let him know about the picture of us in that fucking safe.

Quite honestly, I am scared. Things have been going well in the past few months and I truly hoped the only time I'd visit qidian(webnovel) would be to tell you old stories about my grandma. Not like this, man.

What I'm gonna do now is pop open a big bottle of Costco's Kirkland vodka(lol thats a lie i like coctail drinks and mocktail drinks only but im short on money so bacardi breezer) , drink and think.
