"Did you see her mum?" I asked, causing my mum to nod. "I know I shouldn't say this but, I wish we were attending her funeral instead."
"Me too." My mother said, to my surprise, as her eyes were still glued on the road.  
"I honestly don't know what to think or feel right now, I don't think it's hit me. I'm never gonna see her again. Mum, I'm never gonna see her again. Eight years I've known that girl and now I'm never gonna see her again. I should've known something was up. The way she was suddenly acting up and would snap at everything,  the way she went missing that time for like two weeks and just showed up out of the blue and she looked so different and all that time she spent with that girl that no one knew. I didn't see her in the funeral."
"You talking about the red headed girl?" My body cut through the air as I turned and nodded. "The one that was dressed really classy and elegant?" I nodded again. "The one that had an umbrella open and it wasn't even raining?"
"Mum, get to the point!" I said, desperately, snapping at her. 
"Oh, yeah, she was there. All the way in the back, behind the boys." 
"What- I- mum, why didn't you tell me?" I asked, stuttering in disbelief. How did I not see her? 
"Was I suppose to?" She asked, as we neared towards our driveway. 
"Yes, she the whole reason we attended that funeral, I know it."
"Kiyara-."
"No, mum seriously. She completely changed after meeting that girl. I saw a different and more nastier side to my best friend that I hadn't seen in the eight years that I had known her. And, now she's gone and that girl had the audacity to show up at her funeral."
"What would you have done if I told you?"
"I would've-."
"You would've... what?" I stayed silent because she was right. I wouldn't have done anything. Causing a scene at a funeral? I'm not in some movie to be getting away with that shit. As my mother parked the car, I took a long look at the house in front of me. Am I actually about to walk in this house, right now?
My mother dropped the keys at the stand, as I closed the door behind us. "I feel dirty." She said taking off her coat and hanging it on the stand. "Why don't you pack her things up before her family gets here. They're gonna come straight after the wake." Nodding I headed up stairs and opened my room. The first thing my eyes had landed on was her black duffle bag she came with. I don't think I want to go through her things, in all honesty. I think I just want process this whole week because it really came out of nowhere. I still don't get why she did it. I mean I get she was changing but I know her, deep down something doesn't-
A rustling came from underneath me, as I leaned in my pillow. Getting up, I moved my pillow away to find a yellow envelope that had my name on it. It's from her. 
I can't believe I hadn't thought of a note. Of course, she wrote a note. Any chance to write something. Picking up the envelope I noticed how heavy it was. I think this was the only time I was glad to read her hefty writing. I wish I had appreciated it more. 
Running downstairs, I found my mother on the couch talking on the phone. "Yeah, we just got home. Oh- she came downstairs-."
"Mum, get off the phone."
"It's your dad." She said taking the phone off her ear and gesturing toward me. 
"I'll speak to him later, this is urgent."
"What?"
"Look." I said, holding up the letter to watch eyes turn wide. 
"Okay, bye." She hastily said, hanging up. "Is it from her?"
"No, it's from Madeline McCann." 
"Just, open it."
"I don't want to, that's why I came down here. You open it." I felt buzz on butt and picked up my phone from my back pocket to find Amirah calling me. I let it ring and pushed the envelope towards my mum. "It has your name on it, I can't read it."
"And, when has that ever stopped you? Hello? My diary."
"Yeah, your diary in year four and I'm sorry for reading about how you had cabbage for lunch. Top secret, CIA, confidential information."
"Mum, please open it." Taking the envelope from me, with defeat, she teared it up. "Be a bit more respectful." She shot a glare up at me, causing me to put my hands up in defence. Taking the letters out she examined them. "I think these are poems. She still writes- wrote poems?" Snatching the paper from my mum, I searched inside the envelope to see if there was  anything else. "That's all she left me? Poems?" 
"Well, there are loads of pages here, there must be a note in here somewhere. Wait, this poem is in red." She said holding up the paper.
"Okay, what's that suppose to mean?" I shrugged, causing my mother to do the same. 
"I don't know, it must mean something."
"This isn't CSI, mother."
"Well, you're the one that came down here all dramatic only to give some poems."
"I thought it was a note. I thought she was gonna explain everything. I thought it was a goodbye." My mother placed the poems on the couch and got up to rest her arm around my shoulder. "Maybe there is a goodbye in one of these. She probably knew how confused you would be and is showing you a side to her that you didn't see, so you could make sense of everything."
"She could walk me step by step through what she did and I still wouldn't understand it." I had said in a low-toned voice. 
"I know, baby. But, at least now you have a piece of her soul that no one else has access to and you keep it for the rest of your life." 


Staying up that night, I spent the time going through her poems. Her aunt came in the afternoon to take her duffleI bag and some of those that she had left in the wash. My phone was switched off besides me since Amirah kept blowing it up. The only thing I had on my mind was being closer to her. It was weird, reading these poems. It didn't seem like her. Normally when people read something from their loved ones, they feel their presence around them. Like they're still around. But reading these gave me an eerie feeling of hollow and emptiness. These weren't her words but it was definitely her handwriting. I mean, I knew she wrote poems and I had read about 2 or 3 but none of them were this deep. 
"Hey, can I come in?" My mother said, knocking and popping her head through the door. 
"Of course." She propped herself besides me, on my bed, as she started to pick up the papers next to her. "So, how's the search for clues going?"
"Eight years of friendship, mum. Eight years I watched her grow up with me and I didn't know her. Not to sound dramatic, but this seems like a stranger. Sure, it's her handwriting but the words... it doesn't sound like her." None of this made sense. The things she was talking about. One poem was a conversation between a flower and the sunset. Like, what is that suppose to mean? They were all so random. Maybe, they had a context I didn't know about. 
"I didn't know she was such a romantic." My mother had said, holding a poem in her hand, that read 'The tale of the sky and the ground'. "How come you didn't tell me she had a man?"
"She was never in a relationship. She would've told me." I said shaking my head in disbelief. But then, I thought to myself. Would she have told me?  "Well, she definitely had it bad." My mother had stated, still reading the poem. 
"I read that poem, it's about the sky and the ground and, like, pollution and shit. It's, like, about climate change and how humans have corrupted the world. I think, when she's talking about the sky she's referring to, like, God." I said, trying my hardest to decipher her words. "There's no way that poem is about love. Where did you get her being in love from?"
"It's definitely about love. Here, let me read it again. 'Carelessly, we walk around, not caring about the tale of the sky and the ground. They were created together you see-."
"Oh, then it must not be God since it was created and-."
"Don't interrupt me." My mother snapped, before she continued reading. "'Carelessly, they walk around, not caring about the tale of the sky and the ground. They were created together, you see, in bliss and harmony. The birds, who were their friends, would pass down messages, without the use of a pen. The sky and the ground would often meet with a crowd that she sent from the clouds. But, things had changed through time, with the birth of mankind. With their inventions that kept the ground bound, and with their pollution, they covered the stars that once comforted the ground. The sky often cries in pain, but their destruction still remains. How silly they were to go down this path. Oh, son of Adam, aren't you scared of the Sky's wrath'. Not only is this about love but, I think it's a threat."
I continued to go through the poems to see if any stood out and I find the poem with the red ink once more. Reading it, I gasped in disbelief, as I shot up from my position. "No way!"
"What? You scared me." My mother breathed, holding her hand on her chest. 
"Mum, this is the song we wrote when we were eleven, during our trip, when you and aunt Camilla took us to Marrakech." I informed her, as she looked at the page I was holding. 
"I told you the red poem meant something." 
"But, you don't understand it doesn't make sense. We attached this to the toy that we were voyaging. Oh, I'm in idiot." I exclaimed, looking at it again. " She re-wrote it. How did she remember it?" 
"Aw, read it."
"Oh, God, prepare to cringe. 'Goodbye toy, I'll miss you, but you must go and sail into the deep blue. Sail on, taking our secret with you, for someone else to grab and cling on to. You'll see things we can't even fathom. You'll go on adventures that we can only imagine. You'll swim with fishes and go to countries that are in our wishes. Oh, how jealous we are of you. Say hi, for us, to the people of Timbuktu. I hope this isn't goodbye and we meet again. But, for now it is. So long, my friend'." Before I knew it, I began to cry and I couldn't stop. My mother, sat up from her comfortable position and held me tight as I cried and cried. "We were so free and innocent. I remember, we quickly finished this so we could go back to our room and watch the new Wizards of Waverly Place episode. Mum, she was my best friend. She was my sister. How could I abandon her when she needed me the most? How could I side with her enemies?" I continued to cry, as I remembered how fun that trip was. No worries. No responsibilities. No deaths. My heart yearned for those days, as it started to pang in my chest. The guilt in gut felt like it was going to rip me open.  "I think this is my note. She wrote it again for me. This is her goodbye."
I held it to my chest and cried even more. "Why don't you put it somewhere safe. You know how you misplace things sometimes. You won't forgive yourself if you lose this."
"I'll put it in my treasure chest." I said, getting up and wiping my tears. 
"Oh yeah, I forgot about your treasure chest draw. You still keep things in there?" 
"It's just easier to keep things in there just incase, so I don't lose it." Opening my cupboard, I unlocked my drawer with the key that was in between my clothes. Opening it, I folded up the poem and was about to put it in until I saw a note with my name on it. "Mum, a note." My mother got up from my bed and sat on her knees next to me. "This one is a bit heavy too."
"If it's another set of poems, I am going to scream." Tearing it up, I unfolded the letter and began to read out loud.



Kiyara! Oh my God, I can't believe your dumb ass actually found this. I thank your mother because I know she probably found this and not you. You're probably so confused but I'm here to explain everything. Sorry for leaving without saying goodbye. I'm sorry if my hand writing is messy, I only have a couple of hours left and I have to write this you. Do not show anyone this letter, except aunt Phaedra. First of all, Kiyara stop feeling guilty. You had every right to be mad at me, I was acting up and you weren't having it. As you shouldn't. I love you so much and know that if I was angry with you I wouldn't be writing this letter to you right now. I had to slip this in your treasure cupboard or box thingy because I couldn't risk anyone else finding this. Oh gosh, I've confused you even more. I waffle so much. Anyway, you deserve to know the truth about everything and you will...

I woke up to do my quiet time and it was a rainy Sunday. It's raining so hard. The news said Cebu is under signal no. 1.
But who can stop people from worshipping the Lord later? 
I was led to this verse in Mark 4:35-41 where Jesus rebuked the storm. In this story, we learned that God is indeed sovereign in every storm in our life. He is in control and can even stop it as He wishes.
Then I remembered our moments with Rachel last night and I jokingly said to myself, "Who can stop me also about my feelings for her? Maybe not even a storm."
I made another poem for her:
As the rain falls gently from the sky 
My heart is beating and I don't know why
Maybe I was just worried about you
If the rain touches on you too
I wish I could be an umbrella you can hide on
Or be your shelter when there is a typhoon
Coz I'll protect you from them all
Until the last raindrop will fall
After that, I went to The Way Fellowship early because it's our schedule in Kid's church. I need also to be early because the church was relocated farther than where it was in Miracle Hotel.

When I arrived, Martha was there, who volunteered to help my team also is very early. We talked about how happy I am when I was with Rachel last night.
"How is she now? Will she come again on the third service? I want to join you both in the service," I happily said. 
"Oh, she will not come to the church today because she will be busy this week. They might close at midnight because they have a big demand in the shop," she said.
I was planning to visit her after church as this would be another opportunity that I could gain again friendship with her. So right after I attended the second service, I went straight to their shop.
It's still raining so hard and because of that, I have a reason to tell her that I just need shelter because of the storm.
So the plan pushed through. I dropped at the entrance of the shop and I saw her and she also noticed me.
"Jacob, what are you doing here?" she asked. 
"Hmm.. can I stay here for a while? I just wait for the rain to slow down," I answered. 
"Sure, come inside and sit there on the bench," she said.
We did not have many conversations because she was so busy. But in spite of that, for me it was precious. A time spent with her is like a treasure of gold. A time of being with her is a time well spent. I will not exchange it with something else.
I saw how hardworking she was. Even she just wearing ordinary attire, she is still lovely. I think Rachel is more beautiful when she is simple. When the rain slowed down, I bid farewell to her and we even exchanged numbers because I insisted.
I went home with hearts full because I created another moment with her.

Then Friday came. It's time for the singles gathering again. I need to be there early because it's my turn to speak. I need to prepare myself and review my slides and also rehearse what I will say.
I arrived there early in the church and Ian prayed for me in the corner. I really needed that so that I will be filled with the Holy Spirit when I speak and the anointing will flow upon me.
Then it's my time for me to deliver my message. My message was centered on Matthew 12:34 - 
"For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks"
It means that whatever you are pre-occupied with, that is what you always say. If you are preoccupied with the things about God, about spiritual things, the words you also say bring blessings.
If the things that preoccupy you are about trash, evil thoughts, curses, then what you will say are just like that.
So it's the best indicator of what's in your heart the things you say or post in social media.
When I thought about that, I reflect on myself what occupies me? Aside from God, of course, its Rachel. It's what I always I write in my poems. Poems are my outlets on what I will say if cannot say it directly.
But what if? What if I should tell Rachel now what I feel? This burden in my heart, I cannot contain it anymore. I don't need poems anymore just to express what I feel. I need to tell her right after this singles gathering. I need to tell her right after my speech.

So I pushed through with my plan. I went without hesitation to her workplace. I know she is still there late at night because they have a high demand right now that they need to work until midnight.
So I went there a few meters from the shop. I've waited for her to go outside maybe she will take a break.
I rehearsed in mind what I am going to say. I waited there for so long already, but no signs of her coming. It's almost midnight and they are going to close in a few minutes.
Then someone went out, it was her, Rachel. She is going to close the shop now. So I went towards her immediately.
"Hi Rachel, it seems you had so much load today," I said. 
"Hey Jacob, what are you doing here late at night?" she said with a shock. 
"Rachel, let me get his straight. I've been praying for you a year already because the first the time that I saw you, you already owned my heart. I know that it's too fast, but I cannot hide my feelings anymore."
She was speechless. I was impulsive. I did not pray about this. I was impatient. But I cannot take back anymore what I said
So she invited me to a convenience store just across their shop. 
"Jacob, I knew already that you like me. Martha told me the day you also shared it with her. But as of this moment, I am not ready to enter a relationship yet. All I want is just friendship," she said.
"Yes, I understand, but can I get to know you more if you let me have a date with you? But of course, you can bring Martha," I replied. 
"I don't know, Jacob, maybe I just pray about it," She said.
Then we talked with each other but just for a few minutes because she needs to go to close their shop. So I left with her the cookies I bought when I was coming for her.
I was happy when finally I confessed to the woman I like my feelings for her. I just need to follow up her if she is open to having a date with her to get to know her more
So the next days were crucial. I always compelled to text her sweet messages, but she has no response.
I even sent the poems I made and send it to her, but still no response.
I even mentioned her about my intention to date her, but she is making excuses.
I don't know is she is just annoyed, but I was just being consistent. I don't want her to think that I am not serious about her. I want to prove to her that I am man enough to back up what I revealed to her.

Weeks and weeks passed by I still asked her to date her through the number she gave me. She keeps making excuses until one day, that Saturday night, she was fed up.
She replied to me, "Jacob, would you please stop this. I said I will not entertain. Honestly, I don't like you. I am always shocked when you always push yourself intentionally before when you want to talk to me. My ideal one should start with friendship."
"I just want to be frank with you so that you will not expect something." she continued.
My heart was torn apart. My world just stopped for a while. I just want to start a friendship with her that is why I want to get to know her through a date because that is the only way I can have a chance.
But I was convicted. I played like a God instead of letting God do the way of letting both of us crossed our paths. I was impulsive and impatient.
What happened is just a mess I created. I will regret this for the rest of my life. I just blew a chance on her and most importantly, I blew up that little step of friendship I had with her.
But I must make up on her on this. Tomorrow is Sunday, I will see her in the church. I need some brainstorming to do again on how I will make up my mistake.

Hello and welcome back to my novel.
Thank you for taking the time to read it. If you don't mind, I'm going to take a few minutes to explain some of my backstory and feelings.

This is not a simple topic for me to speak about all the time, but for those who are not aware; I have depression and anxiety issues. I have sadly, been in abusive relationships which hurt and controlled how I conducted myself when I was about sixteen years old. 
My disorders also come from different areas which I shall not take the time to mention. 

My soul purpose as a writer, is to convey my emotions in which I cannot outwardly or by speech, express.
My poems are like therapy for me and help give me motivation every day.

My poems of nightmares are in a way, symbolizing my issues and trauma.
The ghosts and imaginations I mention, are the negativity and pain I feel. Sometimes the images are people from my past who've hurt me and actually told me, that I shouldn't be alive. Basically people who tried to tell me I wasn't anything.
They are expressing my other side of emotions, in which are rather dark at times. The reason I write them down, are mainly for those who feel like they're alone, and the only person with depression. I want to encourage them right now, that they're not, and I'm here for you if you need to talk.
Life is sometimes a roller coaster, but riding through the bumps and circles, teach us persistence and determination. Don't ever let anything stop you from achieving your goals!
Another way I guess I would describe my poems, I would say in terms, "Abstract Poetry."

They're not meant to be fully grasped and understood, I say this because I myself, do not fully understand my own thoughts and feelings.
If I did, then I would have written my poems in a different way, but I write in complete truth, and genuinely describe my life. I write down a lot  of what I experience and try to describe them at most, in a way understandable through the reader's personal thoughts and feelings. 

*In other terms, my book is expressing my will to move on, no matter the circumstances. That is why "Moving" is incorporated within the title.
I have chosen, and choose now, to never quit, nor give up my hopes, all thanks to my Savior, Jesus Christ.
My family also, are wonderful and most dear to my heart.

Some of my romantic poems are indeed from real relationships I've had. Some I use, to set future goals and dreams in a husband. The ones I've previously published, are from my recent conversations with a guy I'm close to.

Again, this novel is about my life. That is why it has the title: "Moving Through Life."
It contains real experiences, nightmares, and imaginations, I describe using an abstract way of thinking. This type of writing, I felt is creative and different. I do not seek to write like others, but in my own way of thinking; That's what makes it feel more original. 
This being said, writing means everything to me, these are my hopes and dreams. I want to be a professional, I want to do this for the rest of my life. I've had a lot of training in literature and writing, my teacher would encourage my own creativity and different approach. (I promise this is not meant to express haughty behavior).

Each author is specifically gifted with their own mind, and hand which guides it, onto the paper.
I do not wish to make myself seem superior to others, rather an encouragement and exhortation in the literary arts. 

I hope these explanations shed light upon some of the darker places of my novel.

Each poem I publish comes right out from my heart, it's all real for me, and I hope you shall feel the same way.

This novel is encompassed within poetry, thrillers, romance, and reality. It basically holds the content of my mind. I also write for encouragement and creativity.

This book is about what I experience in life: Negative thoughts, bad experiences, and trauma.
I use my book to record my dreams and nightmares I’ve had as well, using poetry to describe them.
It holds my thoughts and feelings which I feel every day. 

While I did not intend my novel to be completely understandable, my intentions are to relate and perhaps encourage others who like myself; Experience fierce depression.
My plan is to make the reader feel and see some of what I see and feel.


As a Christian, I seek to utilize my book to point to Christ in every difficult situation. He has helped and molded me into who I am today. Christ will deliver His children, in need of aid.

I sincerely hope this update of the synopsis, helps in your understanding of my poetry. Please let me know if you need more information. I have written some of my backstory and important information within my poems.

Episode 88 - Country of Music 2 'Eugene's unwanted spotlight'

The King raised his hand, motioning for the instrumentalists to play.
"Well, well." The King paused. Continuing, he spoke with sympathy in his voice. "Why don't you relax and release all your tension from your long trip by listening to some music?"
Before anyone could reject or refuse, he sternly added. "Please sit."
"...." Didn't we get tense because of you? Eugene rolled her eyes in her head, walking with the others to their stoned bench to sit.
Ario moved to the King's side and continued his introduction. "My King, this is Duke Earnest of the Marleigh family, and Duke Amos of the Rodriguez family. They are Xenperia's military general and Xenperia's Great Noble's." He motioned with his hands to Duke Marleigh and Duke Rodriguez as he spoke.
"Welcome, Welcome!" The King spoke with a smile on his face. His previous prey-like behavior, no longer on display.
'Bi-polar?' Eugene blinked at the King's sudden change of character.
"Thank you very much for inviting us. We will be in your majesty's hospitality for the next five days." The quiet Duke of Marleigh spoke, nodding his head to the King.
'The quiet man will take care of all the talks this week?' Eugene looked at Duke Marleigh in surprise. Even Louis, Ron, Aeselak, and Euria looked at Duke Marleigh in shock.
"Hm!" The Emperor hummed, nodding to Duke Marleigh.
Motioning to the children, Ario continued. "These are the 8 Paladin of Xenperia, L-"
"I know who they are." The King cut Ario, raising his hands to stop him from speaking.

"....." The King dropped his grin. "Hmm.." Chuckling, he questioned. "Your sister?" He glanced at the two identical girls. One had grey eyes, and the other had blood-colored eyes.
"Hahaha!" The King suddenly laughed! "I shall look forward to your sister's poem then!" The King lazily held his face with his hands as he laughed. Within a second, he ceased all laughter, becoming serious all of a sudden.
"If they don't live up to expectations, you know what that entails… right?" The King raised his brows at Louis, attempting to scare the little boy.
"..." Eugene blinked, blankly staring at Louis and the King. 'By sister… Did Louis mean her and Euria?' Eugene tilted her head to the side. ' So.. Euria is good at poems?' Eugene turned towards Euria who was stuffing her mouth with grapes.
Realisation hit her! 'No.. he meant her!' Eugene sharply turned her head towards Louis!
'Wait. Wait. Wait! Wait, one minute! What do 'you know what that entails' mean??!?!?' Eugene rapidly blinked her eyes.
Even Duke Marleigh and Duke Rodriguez were staring at Louis in shock!
"Yes Your Majesty, I understand." Louis's lips raised.
'What do you mean you understand?! For what reasons am I involved in this situation!? Am I going to be executed if I don't live up to expectations?!?! And most importantly, why are you smiling!??' Eugene's head exploded with questions! She wants Louis killed right this moment!

"YOUR MAJESTY!" Ario shouted, jumping up in shock!
Startled, the King furrowed his eyebrows at Ario. "You spooked me. Why are you raising your voice as if it's not a good idea?" The King raised his brows in question.

"Reply." The King threatened.
With his head down, Ario softly replied. "It's nothing."
"...." Eugene glanced back and forth between the two. 'Well, swimming in the lake during summer is nothing.' Eugene optimistically thought. 'But then again, why would I lose?'
She glanced at Ario who was shifting around in discomfort and the King smiling, pleased because of Ario's reaction.
Eugene silently shook her head before feeling a nudge on her waist. Turning, she saw Aernest looking at her worriedly.
'Quickly write!' Aernest silently communicated, sending a telepathic message to Eugene.
'I know!' Eugene telepathy back.
Glancing at her blank paper, Eugene sighed again.
She wasn't one who cared much about poems but because of her career, many of her lines had to be poetic. Some roles required her to say elegant and sophisticated sentences. 'Ha...Those days were tiring.' Eugene daydreamed.
'I'm sorry poets! I shall steal your poems!' Eugene made up her mind. In deep thoughts, she twirled around her clean brush. 'Long poems were boring, but short poems wouldn't look good.'
The paper-cloth they gave her was thin and transparent. It was roughly the size of her whole body.
'What poem is appropriate in this setting?' Eugene tapped her brush, hesitating about what poems she should use. She had way too many options! She could use poems from her scripts, or famous poems everyone knows!
"Hmmm.." Eugene heard a hum. Glancing towards the noise, she saw the King smiling towards the poets who were currently acting shy and coy. Their faces were red and looked as if they were deeply in love with the King.

Shifting his body towards the guests, he began in a sad, sorrowful voice that came up from nowhere.

The bobbed hair man ended, swiping tears that dripped down from the corner of his eyes.
