Lei was lucky to have been chosen out of many people that would do anything to take what was possibly the most powerful ability away from his grasp, a system. Tired of reality and its monotony, he decides to go on an adventure! It all starts after his death.

Hi! First thing I have to say for people who plan on reading is that there is no harem. I seriously hate harem and wouldn't want it anywhere near any of my work, reading feed or anything that's related to me. This also isn't that serious so don't expect some heavy plot. All Lei wants to do is to have fun so... yeah. Nothing serious.

Leon pointed out the blind spot in Sui Xiong's thoughts.
He had pursued immersion so much and finally designed a game that was amazingly rich and immersive in content, yet the graphics were a bit simplistic. Therefore, the game could be used to teach low-level adventurers or soldiers basic knowledge.
Just like on earth, driving games that pursued the extreme immersion could actually be used to popularize basic driving knowledge for those who knew nothing.
A qualified adventurer needed a lot of knowledge, and much of it had to be mastered by practice, but if it was just to be used for popularizing written knowledge, this game was enough.
So as Leon had said, this game was more than just a game. If he connected the physical attributes of the characters to the attributes of players, it could be used directly as a simple training material. With a few modifications, it would be easy to teach soldiers some common sense.
Sui Xiong hadn't expected this before, so when Leon had pointed it out, he was a bit confused.
I've been working so hard for so long, testing for this long, and finally, I've launched an informative tool to lay the foundation for adventurers?
Therefore, Sui Xiong had a problem.
For personal reasons, he hated words like "edutainment." In his view, entertainment was entertainment and should only be used for people to relax, relieve stress, and receive spiritual satisfaction. That was enough. If education had to be added into entertainment, then it would be the same as adding odd-tasting beans into drinks, as bad as the legendary Laoshan Oldenlandia Water. Sui Xiong laughed in his heart, but his face was serious on purpose, adding an anti-addiction setting to the game.
Every player could only play it for up to eight hours a day!
If this was on earth, people who dared to be make a game anti-addictive would most likely be killed by their peers in the industry, but they would be praised by related departments. However, in this world, there were no peers in the same industry who competed with him, nor any department above him to manage him. Therefore, he could design and operate in any form he wanted.
Since he was rich, his will could be done to the extreme. However, because the players had never touched other games before, they still didn't understand how anti-traditional and crazy his non-addictive design was. Every one of them actually expressed support.
Upon seeing this situation, Sui Xiong couldn't help but laugh into the air loudly several times, feeling so proud with the happiness that he was finally realizing his ideas that day.
But he was happy for only a few days before he began to get busy again.
Based on the player's suggestions, he decided to develop a spoken version of the game—instead of dubbing the monsters, he added voices of various tips and introductions in the game.
There were so few people in the world who were literate. As a sincere game designer, Sui Xiong felt that it was necessary for people who were illiterate to enjoy the game he designed, as well.
Therefore, spoken prompts and introductions were necessary.
Fortunately, this didn't take much effort. A few days later, he completed the voice system.
When the game that illiterate people could also enjoy began to be tested, it was amazingly unprecedented.
After several tests, the workers in the land and the nearby residents had already known of the existence of this wonderful game, but to most civilians, it was still far from them. Just the need for literacy was a huge threshold that made them unable to play.
In this world, the entertainment that illiterate civilians had access to was very limited. They couldn't understand menus in the restaurants, nor signboards in pubs, and they couldn't integrate into the atmosphere in the opera houses, so their social lives were extremely barren.
As a lower level in society, they didn't have any opportunities. They could only live mechanically and simply every day, like a negligible gear in a huge machine that was society. Most of them couldn't get satisfaction from manual labor, so their lives became more and more empty.
They needed entertainment!
And the spoken version of the "Great Adventure of Mount Snake-sky" launched by Sui Xiong met their requirements—simple content, complete voice guidance, and easy to operate, even if they were illiterate.
After the first tests, a few civilians quickly became addicted. Then the news spread unknowingly. There were more and more people who wanted to try the game. In the end, they even queued up for miles. If the land hadn't had so many people to maintain the order well, they might have already started fighting.
Sui Xiong was shocked, so he hurriedly increased the number of computers. He made 200 computers in one breath, but still couldn't meet the needs of the residents around the land.
"This is the f**king contradiction between backward productivity and the ever-growing material and spiritual needs of the people!" Looking at the long line on the ground under his feet, Sui Xiong, who was flying in the air, sighed deeply.
He had planned to add more computers, but after thinking about it, he felt that it wasn't necessary.
The needs of the people were endless, unless he realized something that wasn't possible on earth: one computer per person.

Everyone who wanted to experience the game could register in front of a special computer, then they would get a piece of crystal that had no other use but telling them at any time how long it was until their turn to attend the tests.
This simple and straightforward solution solved the problem of long lines, and players had taken their own crystals one after another. Those who needed to line up for a short time were still waiting, but those who needed to wait longer left by themselves to finish whatever they were supposed to be doing.
So the small storm came to a close at this point. Soon after, Sui Xiong was surprised to find that literate people in the territory had actually increased rapidly.
The reason was very simple. Even if it was the voice version of the game, there was text as well. In the game, many people had learned some words on the common menus through the connection of voice and text.
This had also been an unintentional move.
After finding out the cause, Sui Xiong couldn't help but laugh.
For the first time in his life, he felt that "edutainment" was actually reasonable!

Ah sigh I just barely made it this will be a very long day 

"Yeah I know right hey how are your parents doing it's been awhile since I have asked you about them?" a mystery man asked

Oh they are doing well Larry it's been a few days since I've chatted with them I been so  busy with this project lately I think I'll try contacting them after work or if I can during lunch I'm just going to try to get a lot of this done before then 

Larry my best friend since kindergarten and like normal friends we had our ups and downs  like arguing over this and that but hey I'm just glad we have been friends this long 

"Oh ok want to hang out after work today?"

Nah I'm trying to save my money so I can get a better house and car so I can maybe get a better job then this I need little bit more Adventure ya know 

"Adventure huh mean like the game you been working on with your team what was the name of it?" Larry asked

Oh you mean King and Hero art online yeah but I'm still wondering what the new world changing event should be got a suggestion we already had the demon king's rise event and the Necromancer king event what do you think could be next?

"Hmm seeing as I play the game on my days off how about the succubus queen's revenge or to the npc of the game demon queen's revenge?" Larry suggested 

Hmm maybe but how exactly would that work the demon king should have been stronger

"Yeah you could maybe have it as some of the other high level demons trying to compete to be the new demon king or have a competition to have the rank 1 player be the new demon king because aren't there different worlds within the game?" Larry asked 

Yeah but that won't be implemented till after the third world changing event

"Then do something the enables players to go to other worlds for like 1 giant holy platinum coin (ghp) like for the world changing event boss a high level alien that looks human oh hey that I know of you haven't done anything with either the elves or dragon kin their npc women are so hot you need to implement a system where players can gave a romance with the npc and if they pay irl money to support the game build they can unlock a 18+ feature?" Larry said

If you want that you need a girlfriend 

"Then you need to get a girlfriend first then I will get one lol" Larry said teasingly 

Ok shut up now the boss is coming over

"Hey Light where is the next update for the event we have a deadline in a week you know that right after this event the game is going out to the people for openbeta we had enough testing." Ashley said

I'm thinking about making a boss that drops a item that is used to help the players travel to other worlds but im thinking it will maybe be one of either the elven race or the dragon kin race 

"Go with the dragon kin they are stronger and can fly and the magic they have could have one being a portal teleporting spell ones they kill a high level large dragon they will get a map and the spell the map will to to the dragon home planet but the players have to be in one of the dragon temples to use that spell." Ashley said

Ugh that was a long and tiring day I'm glad I got so much work done but I continued through lunch

currently the game is in beta testing but it won't be after the third world changing event if the bosses died by the beta testers they would reset to 4 months before the before the event so that way people can play in the event and just for the slow players who take their time and do the side and secret quest like Larry does added the npc affection meter there will also be secret world changing event but they won't change much just how your character could either get better or worse depending on how you did on that small world event but nothing like if you did bad or failed it you would get a handicap that won't happen only thing it will do is either make your character look alittle different or do -1 in all stats permanently

It's a text message from the team they are saying there is an error that a npc killed the Necromancer king boss Maridon the one for the world changing event 

"Wait how?" Larry asked 

I have no clue but its fine i'll reset it before open beta

"Oh ok then let's drink but you first because you do want to go home." Larry said

Somewhere around the edge of this beautiful white world where there are no blemishes to be seen. A girl watching into the distance was swinging her legs and humming a happy melody. This image looks beautiful and serene but the truth is.

'Ah, I'm so bored there's nothing else except the pure white world. The system, what the heck you said that this would be a fun journey.'

The system kept quiet and thought for itself while sweating profusely, 'When had I said that?! Luckily I had muted myself in case of stuff as this happens.'

'This damn system, oh well gotta enjoy what I had currently.'

A light bulb then shone on top of her head, 'Aki-nii said that he'd release a new VR game right then I probably could play it.'

In the short time, she had been in this world the making of SAO almost came to an end, Kayaba told her that with the release of SAO he could revive her into the real world.

-Scene Skip-

*Ring* Kayaba then picked up his call, "Hey, Princess what's up?"

"I'm fine Aki-nii, I want to ask if you could let me play the new VR game you'll be releasing."

"Huh, you want to play the new VR, sure why not? But don't tell anyone about your identity as an A.I. or it would cause some problem." Kayaba smiled, even though his sister had lost her memories but at least her character stays similar.

"Yay, thanks love you Aki-nii. *smooch* See ya later then." Emily kissed at the holographic picture.

Kayaba chuckled, "Love you too princess, see ya." he then turns off the call. After the call, Kayaba sighed and slump back to his chair.

'In the end, I still couldn't bring her back to real life huh?' He then felt something is behind him so he turned around, "WHO'S THERE?" Looking around he saw nothing and looked back at his computer.

'Must be my feelings, I've gone senile huh? Well, let's continue to search for a way to bring Emily back.' He cracked his knuckles and went to researching.

A dark shadow suddenly emerges behind Kayaba and engulfed him whole, "Wait, who's hmph." The shadow then swallowed him whole.

-Scene Skip-

Emily pumped her fist into the air and exclaimed, "Yeah, finally some entertainment can't wait to meet some real people."

'Since Aki-nii said that the world would be focused on using weapons in fighting I guess my memories could help me.'

 Emily then started to tinker with the game in order to make her look like what a normal player would.

'Let's keep my appearance the same, as for the name…' Emily stared at the login box for a while then decided to keep her name as she isn't attached to her memories name anymore.

"Yosh let's go into the VR game." She then clicked ok and entered the VR world. There's a large text in front of her face.

"Sword Art Online (Open Beta)"

'What a fitting name for such game, I think Aki-nii runs out of juice to think about a great name for the game' Emily chuckled and proceed to join the game, a unique sound emerges in her head, "Link Start"

When she opened her eyes, she was in front of a spire in the town of Beginnings, Emily is excited and was ready to head out and go to adventure around the world. It's normal for her to be excited after all her memories don't have technologies as advance like this.

'Hopefully, I'll meet some friends.' with her goal set in mind she started walking around the town.

Off she went towards the Southern Plains, as she heard that it was a great spot for sightseeing and there are several people farming there.

Emily's kind of sad that she didn't have any friends to talk with but when she walked around she saw a girl. She had a milky white skin with a hint of purple skin on it, lustrous and gorgeous, long, purplish-black hair, and red eyes. Emily was fascinated not only because of her appearance but her stance and movement when she uses a sword, it was graceful.

She then approached the said girl and greeted her.

"Ehm, Hello." Hearing her voice the girl turned around and looks at Emily, "I'm sorry if I'm disturbing you it's just the way that you uses your sword is beautiful. I wonder if you."

The girl smiled, "Well, thank you."

"Your welcome anyway, do you want to spar with me?" Emily said while she proposes a PVP from her interface. The girl tilted her head but her smile is still as bright as the sun.

"Sure I'll accept your duel." She then accepted the duel and an announcement was made

'So her name's Yuuki huh? What a beautiful name.'

They both prepared themself for the battle, Yuuki pulled her sword from the scabbard and got ready for the duel.

Li Ming loosened his seatbelt on the plane. Ever since the finals last night, he had been feeling quite disappointed. His favorite team, the Beijing Tigers, had lost. Not only did they lose, but they had lost quite miserably. The Finals was a best of five series, and they had won the first two games quite dominantly, but then tragedy struck.

In a triumphant reverse sweep, the Los Angeles Emperors had completely crushed the Beijing Tigers. Their captain, Yeh SuWen, had left the stage in tears. The team had such a strong start, yet they had been toppled in such a manner.

As the Los Angeles Emperors raised their trophy, many spectators had been left in a very confused state. This had been the first time a North American team had ever won the world championships. The majority of the spectators had come from all the Asian Countries to root for the Beijing Tigers. Only about 40% of the spectators were from North America, and they were exuberant beyond belief.

The rollercoaster of emotions had left both sides at the farthest ends of the emotional spectrum that they could have possibly felt. From the peak of excitement and anticipation to the loathing and dread of a possible reverse sweep, the fans of the Beijing Tigers had a very tumultuous emotional adventure. Of course, the reverse of the emotions were true for the fans of the Los Angeles Emperors.

Li Ming had been invited to sit with Chie and the rest of the Osaka Phoenixes by Conflux for this event. The team had been pretty unbiased in terms of rooting for a team. They just wanted to watch the highest level of gameplay that they could watch. Because of this, when the Los Angeles Emperors won, they were cheering pretty excitedly too. This left Li Ming as the odd man out as his favorite team had just lost, while he was sitting with a group of people that were cheering.

Recalling this memory, Li Ming couldn't help but feel bitter. 

"Excuse me, what would you like to drink?" a flight attendant asked him.

"Hot chocolate please." Li Ming replied without hesitation.

Li Ming unlocked the doors to his apartment. A familiar scent wafted through the air towards him. A sense of homeliness as he collapsed onto his bed. Thankfully, his wallet wasn't too sore. The team had treated him to meals on the day of the final as well as a meal before he left. He still had around 300 dollars left.

He would be returning to school tomorrow, so he would get his chance to talk to his counselor about this new potential future prospect of his. After spending time with Conflux and Chie, he found that he enjoyed their company quite a bit. Conflux was quiet and witty, while Chie was amusing and attractive at the same time. Lasks, their mage player, was quiet and rarely said anything, but he wasn't a wet blanket for the mood in any way. 

Collisio, their tank player, was quite a character. He knew the ins and outs of international travel and had many connections to get what he needed. He even hooked up Li Ming with an upgrade for his flight back, allowing Li Ming to sleep comfortably in first class.

Li Ming was pretty content with his vacation. Although he didn't find out anything about community colleges, he was able to get recruited to a team. If he actually became part of their starting roster, he would receive a contract for an entire million dollars a year, and would have the opportunity to earn more.

This offer was very attractive to Li Ming. He felt like he would be set for life if he managed to stay on the team for ten years or so. He would be financially stable and would have little to no worry about job security. Of course, the contract terms had yet to be determined, so he would have to to wait and see. 

But for now, all Li Ming wanted was to fall asleep. Closing his eyes, he slowly felt the drowsiness overcome him. Despite sleeping for several hours on the flight, he had still felt sleepy upon laying down on his own bed.

*Ding~!*

His phone received a notification. Annoyed, Li Ming pulled out his phone from his pockets. It was a text message from Mato.

"Hey there~! o(≧∇≦o)

I heard that you attended the tryouts! ヽ(〃･ω･)ﾉ

Celeste wouldn't tell me about it tho! ∑(ﾟﾛﾟ〃)

Care to tell me how it went?

Li Ming eyes shot back open in surprise! News had travelled that fast already? He didn't expect Mato or any one else to know about this for at least until he was officially signed onto a team. Hopefully, her team captain wouldn't accuse Li Ming of stealing the playstyle they had discussed.

"Hello! 

The tryouts were quite fun! But you had surprised me a lot! I originally only wanted to play casually at an internet cafe, but you actually sent me to a tryout instead!

Anyways, a lot happened, and I eventually got asked to join the Osaka Phoenixes. I don't know if I should join or anything, but they seem quite cool. I told them I'd make a decision about joining them after I spoke to my counselor about it.

Anyways, how've you been?

After sending that message, Li Ming closed his eyes with the intent to go to sleep. He heard his phone's notification buzzer go off again, but he stuffed his phone under his pillow and went straight to try to sleep. 

*DingDong~*

This time it was his doorbell. Li Ming was now very agitated. His first attempt to sleep was blocked by a text message, and now his second attempt to sleep was also disrupted by a rude door bell.

The doorbell rang again. Frustrated, Li Ming rolled out of bed, praying that it wasn't some sales person. He walked to the door while wondering if it was possible to disable the doorbell so no one could bother him anymore. Reaching the door, he peered through the peephole to see who it was. To his surprise, it was Counselor Watanabe! She looked quite agitated too!

"Li Ming! I know you're in there! I asked your landlord and she said she saw that you came back today! Open up!" she demanded!

Tang Li Ming's life has been full of half-hearted attempts and failures. Although he performed flawlessly in class and his homework, when it came time to execute, he wouldn't be able to.

After receiving news that it would be unlikely for him to move on to college, he decides to run away from home. He uses his remaining savings from his part time job to fly to the California in the United States to see his favorite team compete in the one thing he actually enjoyed: Legends Rise.

The story follows his adventures as he matures throughout his life and career as a professional gamer.

Other than the creamy white leather sofa and lights, the rest of the furniture like the cupboards etc still have yet to be moved in. But luckily for me, the beds have. My parents still have a lot of stuff to do at KTB- Like Mom for example, is part of the grassroots organisation(1) over here, and is incredibly popular... She is often invited to many events, and has tons of friends- the kind of person you could think of as a social butterfly.. But she herself doesn't believe so. 

Dad on the other hand, is the yang to my mother's yin, the introvert to her "extrovert-ness". If Mom had tons of friends, and is always out of the house, Dad's the complete opposite. Dad has few friends, and instead- invites them over to his house for tea sessions. He conducts his "tea sessions" at our wide balcony on what used to be our dining table back in KTB, a large stone-white marble table. Back then when my parents were deciding on tables to use for dining tables, my father chose the round table over the square ones because according to him, it's better. He said that in Chinese culture, a round table symbolizes completeness, family coming together, being together-ish. He also collects a lot of old tea leaves and tea pots- and claims it's an investment but I secretly believe his just trying to justify his collector's actions..

Because most of their stuff are still in the house at KTB- Dad's wide variety of tea and Mom's books and clothes, they decided that for now I should just stay at the new house-alone- to familiarize myself with the environment first. 

Due to the lack of space in my room for a table, I use the white round marble table in my balcony whenever I need to do work. 

Did I mention exactly how small my new room is? 

There's a built-in wardrobe that can't be removed, taking up like one-fourth of the space in my room already, not to mention, once my piano is moved in, there would be barely any walking space... The reason why my piano had to be moved into my room was also due to the fact that my living room had no extra space after putting a sofa and television-

basically my new house is a lot smaller than my previous house at KTB-

*sob sob*

Anyway right now, I'm doing social studies with my papers strewn all over the table, giving the impression of a messy table- and oops, the wind's pretty strong even though I live on the first floor, so I have to remember to put heavy stuff on my papers when I do work.

I've been sitting at this table for like-

so about 3 hours-ish. 

I've been reading up on how conflicts occur among countries, like political stuff and it's honestly getting boring, especially how the same issues pop up again and again. I flipped through my Social Studies notes again, skimming through the passages about North Korea and South Korea- their ideological differences. 

"Argh, why can't people just coexist? We're all human anyway," I muttered out loud when I saw the passage talking about how the countries went to war simply because one believed in democracy, and the other in communism. Tearing Korea into two half's, just cause two people believed in different things sound stupid to me, but maybe it's just cause I'm not old enough yet-

"Argh," I stretched my arms upwards, and massaged my neck with a hand. 

Maybe it's time for a break, I thought and grinned to myself as I unplugged my phone from the charging spot. I shifted my position as I pressed my thumb on my phone, unlocking it with my fingerprint. 

Hmmm, what to play, what to play?

Nah I'm not in the mood for that, what about-

"O-" I blinked as I caught sight of a game I haven't played in a while, Succulent Adventure!!

I waited as my phone screen showed displayed the creator's name- Yookies, and waited for it to update at the loading page. The display page was filled with characters that I've never seen!! Succulent Adventure is something like an MMORPG(2) mobile game- but has lesser functions due to it being on mobile like- the lack of the chatting option during quests, and PVP(3)s. You can only see your inbox lighting up with a notification, but be helpless to it as unless you want to clear out your hard work and the exp you've gain by exiting, you have to wait till you finish the quest. 

'Succulents' are humanoid forms with adorable little succulents growing on them, according to their 'race' and 'species'. There were different characters, with different stats, and each character had it's own specialty. My favorite, and current main was the 'Leafy Succulent'. It wasn't really a succulent in real life but well- It's all black, with different shades of small little bright green creepers and leaves as it's hair, clothes etc. It's very shy and appears weak but becomes insanely strong at 'red blood'(4) which is why it's my favorite. It's like a trap, when people believe it's an easy target, it lunges out and defeats the their expectations, just how I like it. I couldn't touch it much since I told myself I wanted to study, but -hehe- now's break time. 

I smirked to myself as I gazed at the loading bar.

"Woah!!" I gasped just as I entered the game. The creators have really outdone themselves this time!!
 
There were now Legendary Succulents characters!!

According to the News Succulent, you can get them from the vending machine by inserting a ticket. To obtain a ticket, you need to finish twenty runs in a row in Succulent Run, A mini game in the Succulent Game-mode that I've long unlocked. If you break a streak, or fail a single run, the count would instantly restart. There are a total of five new characters, in order to celebrate their fifth anniversary since creation.

Twenty runs in a row? 

Hrph, the administrators are really looking now on me, I thought as I swiped my nose. Who do they think I am? I'm 'yituan', the number one on the leader-board for three years straight even on when still on beta- Okay I did drop ranks once but I was still number two after that, and never dropped again. Just cause I stopped playing for the past two years and- um.. dropped to-

My eyes nearly popped out when I saw my rank on the world leader-board-

I closed my eyes and groaned, massaging my jaw before dropping my phone onto the table, clutching my head in my hands in disbelief. I can't believe I fell so much just from not playing in two years- Well never mind all that, I shook my head and picked up my phone. I don't have time to grind for ranks anymore, I sucked in a deep breath and said goodbye to being number one. I mean I expected falling from the ranks but I didn't expect to have fell this far. Opening the other notice from News Succulent, I understood why. 

Apparently players have been complaining about the level cap, so they decided to raise it, as well as make it easier for players to level- what is this bullshit? I sighed and rubbed my head. 

Never mind all these, time to grind for these limited edition legendary succulents.

I cracked my knuckles and began.

Twenty runs was really too easy, I thought as I began my twentieth run. 

Dodge obstacles, and run until the next target goal? I can do this with my eyes close, I sighed just as I heard soft sounds from the sidewalk beside my balcony. My eyes drifted to the side and I saw a boy slow-running with a golden retriever pass my place. He saw me holding my phone horizontally and smirked when we made eye-contact before heading to the lift lobby and I lost sight of him. 

Wait what? 

Did that guy just laugh at me? I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion when something else caught my attention- My leafy succulent had slipped and crashed into a small boulder while I was busy staring at some random guy-

"I wonder if she's home today, what do you think? Momo?" The boy said aloud as he looked at his puppy, happily pulling him onward. He didn't see that girl earlier when he brought Momo down, just a whole bunch of messy papers on the round white table outside. 

Maybe she was busy? He thought to himself, feeling disappointment. 

Momo dragged him pass the playground, ignoring his words as they head towards home. It has been two whole days. Each time, he passes without a shadow of her figure but-

This time, he sees her.

With her long hair tied up in a cute bun, in a black shirt and shorts- Hey we match! He thought as he glanced at his own all-black outfit and blushed before shaking his head. Momo dragged him into the lift lobby of the block beside theirs before he realizes. 

"Momo, stop, where are you going?" He frowns as Momo pulls him away from his girl. 

"Momo!" 

Momo finally turns to look at him in confusion as he pulls on her lead, leading her to back to the sidewalk. He lifts his head up only to see the girl holding her phone horizontally, with eyes focused on the screen, fingers tapping- 

She must be gaming, he chuckled to himself just as she looked up from her phone and they made eye contact.

For a second, he gazed into her eyes before Momo drags him away, breaking the connection.

"Momo, what are you doing?" he berates his golden retriever puppy as she stops at the lift lobby, looking at him with mournful eyes.

It wasn't like he could walk Momo pass her place again without her thinking he was a stalker anyway, he told himself before sighing, and pressing the lift button.

Well, at least I got to see her again today.

What in the world are you thinking Yui Tan?? I berated myself and tried to redo the runs- But whenever I reached the twentieth, my mind thought of only the cute guy with his golden retriever and I failed every-time..

"Get a grip, oh my tian(5)," I muttered as I looked at my watch.

6:08 pm-

Great, I just spent a little over an hour trying to grind for a legendary character but I ended up with moving up the ranks, but no legendary character.

Since when have I, Yui Tan fallen to the point where I obsess over whether guys were cute or not? I've noticed guys before, but thinking about them to the point I lose my winning streak- I need to stop.

I took a deep breath and exited the game. 

It was almost time for dinner.

My stomach growled just as I stood up and I nodded. Maybe I was just so hungry to the point I'm hallucinating. I quickly swiped all the papers on the table into my Social Studies folder, and skipped to the kitchen, humming.

Opening the fridge doors, I felt my heart sank. 

The fridge was empty- too empty. Like a desert- but no at least the desert had sand my fridge has nothing!! 

I looked downwards to see the vegetable drawer, and pulled it open, finding a red plastic bag.

Bingo!

"Achievement Unlocked, [item 'Spring Onions'] Found!" I cheered as I thrust it in the air, doing a celebratory cheer.

I pulled out my favorite brand of instant noodles and found an egg tray behind the rice cooker.

"Another item, ['Eggs'] have been found!" I chuckled to myself before grabbing a black pot and filled it with water. Placing it on the stove, I switched on the gas stove and lit it, before grabbing my phone while waiting for it to boil. I switched on my phone just in time to see a text message notification from my classmate Qi Qi-

QiQi: Remember to finish reading up our Social Studies homework!!

"Yes yes," I sighed as I unlocked my phone.

YuYu: Already done, I read up on it earlier~ 

Now tap send~ Qi Qi replied almost instantly, with lot's of shocked emojis and exclamation marks-

QiQi: Don't lie!!!

QiQi: I know you probably only read a chapter or something and went to play games-

YuYu: Excuse me, I finished all four chapters okay!!

Hprh, I don't play games anymore- I typed when I stopped. 

Wait- I was just playing Succulent Adventure earlier~ But she doesn't need to know that. Just as I was about to press send, I looked up from my phone in time to see the water about to boil out of the pot.

AHHH 

I stuffed my phone into my pocket and quickly lowered the gas, making the fire smaller.

Whew, I lifted an arm and wiped the sweat off my forehead. Time to put the noodles in!!

I opened my packet of instant noodles and placed the noodles in, and grabbed a pair of chopsticks, stirring it. Looks like cooking and texting is a bad idea- I thought just as another message from Qi Qi came in again.

QiQi: Stop lying to yourself, I saw you on Succulent Adventure earlier!!

Shit! I forgot she played SA too! I unlocked my phone again, about to reply when I looked at my pot of noodles, and decided to finish cooking before replying to her. 

My precious noodles are way more important!!

Pulling open my front door to the foyer area of my house- I never had a foyer before-  I unlocked the main door and slipped on a pair of slippers as I went to throw the trash. I turned left to the rubbish chute beside my main door and opened it, holding my breath as I pulled the rubbish chute door open, putting my plastic bag in. I quickly closed it and breathed in fresh air.

"Finally, I can go grind for my-" 

"Excuse me." 

I froze as I heard a voice behind me and quickly moved to my right.

How embarrassing!! Someone just caught me speaking to myself!!

I bent my head, hoping my hair would cover my face as the person walked passed me and pressed a button, waiting for the lift. Tilting my head slightly upwards as I walked towards my front door, I recognized him as the boy that caused me to lose every twentieth run earlier when I was playing SA!!

"Isn't he-" I widened my eyes and stopped when I realized I spoke aloud and quickly ducked my head, rushing into my house before shutting the front door.

Inside the lift was a teenage boy, making celebratory fists as he hopped childishly in the lift, breaking into a wide smile-

"I saw her again today- Yes YES YES!!! Today's the luckiest day ev-" He cheered loudly and stopped when the lift opened, and Ryan stared at him as he untied his shoelaces on the bench.

"Gor Gor, are you sick?" 

"No, no I'm fine-" 

"But you were-" 

The teenage boy crouched down to his younger brother's level, and held his face in his hands.

"You. Saw. Nothing." He carefully enunciated every word as Ryan nodded quickly and ran back into the house.

A building in Forestville has 13 floors, the 13th being a penthouse, and the 1st having a wide balcony. A girl lives downstairs, and a guy lives upstairs. Separated by 11 floors, will they ever be friends?

Yui has been noticing a guy walk his dog pass her balcony for ages. She yearns to befriend him, however something seems to hold her back. 

Is this love? 

Or is this something else? 

Along with her never-ending family issues, it seems like whenever she thinks she's strong enough, she never is. 

Will she ever find an answer to what this feeling is?

The folders had a good-looking design and were heavy. Zhao Yu thought that there had to be a lot in them.
Zhao Yu opened the first one. It was information on Jiang Ke's associates.
The information was well organized and very detailed. For example, Sanlong's real name was apparently Qiu Hua, and he was from Hengning. The records also included his birth date, skills, criminal record, family members' information, financial status, and so on.
Tongqi, Big Bear Zhang, the ponytail man, and everyone's records were included. The information was so detailed that it even contained each individual's relationship network, photos of family members, and any weaknesses.
Seeing these materials, Zhao Yu was both happy and frightened.
The first batch of names that showed up were the people Zhao Yu had seen before, like Laobin and Mangzi, who had gone with Jiang Ke to Yaoming and had participated in the robbery. This suggested that these people were the core members of Jiang Ke's group. Each of them had an area of expertise, and they were the main force behind Jiang Ke's thefts.
After turning several pages, he gradually came upon Liu Wenjun, Cui Xiaolong, and Tian Xudong. They were different from the core players. On the surface, they were high-status people with no criminal records. But, in fact, they were Jiang Ke's men, and helped him out at critical moments.
What surprised Zhao Yu most was that there were dozens of people like Liu Wenjun. Most of them were in the northern region. It was amazing how large the gang was.
Zhao Yu now understood why Jiang Ke had always been successful in the past. It was because these men had helped him in the dark, so that he could disappear secretly right under the eyes of the police.
Zhao Yu suddenly had a strange feeling. It was clear that Jiang Ke had established a criminal empire.
But why did he just want to be a robber? Since he had controlled so many companies and enterprises, he could live an easy, good life. Why bother to make a big effort to rob places, time and again? Why would he choose to be a wanted criminal and live in fear every day?
Was it because those companies were not doing well and had lost money? Or was Jiang Ke addicted to robbery? Was he afraid of losing his title as the 'king of thieves'?
Zhao Yu thought this over as he continued to read. Then, he made a new discovery.
He unexpectedly found information on a person named Yuan Jingdao. It clearly stated that his original name had been Yuan Shucai, and he was also called the "Taoist priest" by others.
Zhao Yu suddenly remembered what Jiang Ke had said to him in the interrogation room. This fellow really knew the Taoist priest, Yuan Shucai!
Zhao Yu took a close look at the Taoist priest's information. Although it was detailed, he still could not tell how Yuan Shucai was related to Jiang Ke.
It was apparent that Jiang Ke had not updated Yuan Shucai's information for a long time. The fellow had been executed a long time ago. But the information didn't include the time before he was arrested, either.
Zhao Yu turned another page. This time, his eyes lit up. The person behind Yuan Shucai was Cao Sifen—precisely whom he had been looking for.
Cao Sifen, originally named Cao Yunliang, was a gang leader in Heilongjiang. He also controlled some illegal enterprises, and had a certain influence in local affairs.
However, the file only contained information about Cao Sifen, and didn't mention their history. Zhao Yu still didn't know why they hated each other.
Looking down, he saw just one familiar picture, in the information on one of Cao Sifen's associates. The photo was of a short bald man. He was the guy who had hidden in the van and stabbed Tian Xudong to death with a dagger!
Zhao Yu then understood why Jiang Ke had immediately shouted out Cao Sifen's name when he saw Tian Xudong being killed. It appeared that he had recognized this bald man.
When Zhao Yu read the files, he felt like they reminded him of something. But, when he thought carefully, he couldn't remember it.
At this moment, as far as Zhao Yu was concerned, the folders were undoubtedly a treasure! If he could take them back to the Criminal Division, it would be a massive harvest!
There was information on several other people after Cao Sifen. Although Zhao Yu had never heard of those names, he thought they must be no good.
Having finished with the first folder, Zhao Yu already felt that his adventure had been worth it.
Then he opened the second file, which was even more surprising to him. He skimmed through it, and realized that it contained plans for Jiang Ke's previous robberies.
It covered almost all of his past heists, including his fellows' separate missions and the disposal of stolen goods. It was unequivocal evidence of Jiang Ke's crime. This information could completely ruin his criminal empire!
Take Yaoming's robbery, for example. It included the details of the robbery, the plan, and information on the participants. In addition to Jiang Ke and his team's key members, even those drivers who were hired to confuse the police were also on the list.
With this folder, the police could easily arrest all of the people involved in the robbery.
After reading the first two folders, Zhao Yu was extremely excited and curious about the last folder.
So he quickly opened it.
However, there were no files in it—only an old CD.
Zhao Yu didn't expect to see this, but he instinctively realized that there must be something important on it. Otherwise, Jiang Ke would not keep it in this folder.
He quickly took out the CD. He saw "cello" on the cover of the package and a picture of a musician playing the cello next to it.
Zhao Yu removed the package and took out the CD inside. He saw a list of the songs on it. A song called In the Deep of Autumn was underlined.
And, in the left margin of the CD, there was a handwritten text. Surprisingly, the text was in Japanese, and looked like a Japanese name!
Zhao Yu felt that this strange CD must be very important!
He didn't give another thought to anything else, and hurried to the study with it, where there was a laptop. Zhao Yu wanted to play it on this device. Unfortunately, there was no CD-ROM drive on the laptop, as few people these days used CDs.
Zhao Yu looked around; he suddenly saw a CD player on a bookshelf on the other side of the study.
The CD player had a primitive design. It was huge and had its own speaker. Zhao Yu seldom saw that type of player these days, as it had no other functions beyond playing a CD.
Zhao Yu once again felt strange. He had always thought that Jiang Ke, who could design such sophisticated plans for robberies, was the type of person who kept pace with the times and liked to try new things. Therefore, such an old-fashioned thing seemed to be incongruous.
Were there any secrets hidden in it?
At this point, Zhao Yu's curiosity had reached its zenith, and he was eager to find out the secrets of the CD. He immediately turned on the CD player and put it in.


A little ruffian who fought recklessly without any morals and bottomline accidentally time-traveled to parallel space and became a Key Case Investigation Team agent. The huge change in identity had him creating chaos in the police station. However, a strange miracle system helped him repeatedly solve mysterious cases, turning him into an impudent ruffian detective!

I woke up in a dark place, so dark that I could not see my hand before my eyes. But I was very calm as if I knew that nothing here could hurt me. Only silence kept me company. I walked in this darkness, not in search of a way out, but in search of something I had lost. I did not know what it was but had the feeling that I was very close to finding it. Then I continued to walk. 

I walked... and kept walking until I began to listen to a sound far away. It sounded like a drumbeat. The drumbeats echoed into darkness at a steady pace. One long beat, two short beats. And so doing a loop.

'dom!....dom!..dom!.."

It was as if I was being called. It was strange, but it was as if I already knew this rhythm. The closer I got, the sharper the sound became. The sense of nostalgia was overflowing. My heart was beating with the beat of the drum. I was running toward the sound with all my energy.

Soon war cries of warriors and trumpets mingled with the rhythm, thus forming an epic song. The surrounding darkness was dissipating like a fog. Revealing in front of me an incredible mountain full of trees of all sizes and colors. The mountain was so high that it could not see its end. Swords, armor and all kinds of weapons scattered were all over the floor. The music continued to play louder and louder. I knew instinctively that the music came from the top of the mountain, so I continued toward it. 

But suddenly the world around me distorts. The sound of epic music continues to play. The warriors sing a melody with a strange tongue I do not know, but it was so low it was almost inaudible. The world around me was fading, but the lyrics did not leave my mind. 

Opening my eyes, I see a ceiling. this is a familiar ceiling for me. My grandmother saved me from my torture. When I woke up, I could not remember that dream anymore, so I was more worried about my health. Because the last thing I remember, I was dying. My grandmother is such good people, she treated me and she still carried me to my room. 

"You jerk, you destroyed the books of your ancestor. I will skin you alive, or I'm not Augusta Longbottom!!! "she said in a furious voice.

"Ha ... ha ... I'm still hurting grandma," I said in a pleading voice, and almost crying.

"Injured? You're going to get hurt after I'm done with you "

After I was unfairly spanked, I was now lying on my bed. The annoying thing about magic is that wounds heal quickly. If I was still injured, I might not have been spanked by my grandmother. I lifted my shirt and looked at where the wound used to be. There was only a small mark on the skin. I had asked my grandmother if the injury was very serious, but she just said it was easy to patch me up. I suffered a lot, but my grandmother told me it was superficial.  But I do not believe! It hurt a lot and bled a lot too. I was close to death. poor me! And then, I still receive a spanking.

Looking around me, I saw some of my toys and some books on the floor. I turned to the bedside table. but I'm surprised by what I see. A book was there. The cover of the book was dark green, with golden outlines. I slowly stretched out my hand and jumped on top of the book and grasped it with all my might.

"You will not run away from me now book" I was laughing diabolically.

But there was no reaction from the book, it seemed like a normal book now. When I was sure he was not going to run away, I put him in my lap "Imperium System," I muttered scratching his chin. A strange name for a book, the texture of the book cover was rough with a metal. In the middle of the cover of the book was a gold metallic circle, it looked like a lock but it did not have a hole for a key. This metal circle was also wrapped in strange runes. I also noticed that out of this circle came golden lines that were scattered all over the cover of the book, similar to a vein of blood.

I was excited. It sounded like an interesting book, so I quickly tried to open it. But it's locked. I tried every way, but nothing worked. I looked again at the lock in the middle of the book. I did not know why these runes written in a strange language seemed familiar to me. I stared at those strange letters as if hypnotized. so I said unconsciously.

"Zu'u dir. Ahrk zu'u Kiin. Zu'u Los Aan Unslaad Dovahkiin." I read aloud.

The Runes in the book will shine. The book's lock snapped, and it began to spin. Then it broke into 6 parts, each one looking like a petal of a flower. I was stunned looking all this. How could I read this strange language? I did not even learn to read and write my native language right.

"Dovahkiin" that word sounds familiar to me, but where did I listen? I kept murmuring that word without stopping. So I remembered. The dream I had when I fainted, just before I woke up many warriors were singing.

"Dovahkiin, Dovahkiin Naal ok zin los vahriin" this is what the warriors were singing. "It was not a normal dream," I said with a serious face. Then I opened the book.

The first page was only a few paragraphs long.

I was impressed, not with text, but because I had my name in the book. This was the first time I touched this book. Well, it's a magic book after all, maybe this is normal. I'll ask my grandmother later. I moved on to the next page.
