"Stay in the room, don't come out," a man ordered a fifteen years old Xuan Mu.
"With pleasure," Xuan Mu answered without a care in the world. When the grayed out name turned green, his sour mood changed for better.
"Such a useless brat, all you do is play games all day!" his father shouted furiously.
"Give me the name of his father. Such a useless son he has, let me teach his father how to raise a son," Xuan Mu answered emotionlessly.

〖 Want to ruin my mood? No chance.〗

The man went out angrily, and trashed at the door, closing it furiously.
Xuan Mu fully ignored his so-called father. His mind was fully on a girl's name. She only played MMO, but he wanted to try other games with her. Today, he invited her to a competitive play, just for fun. She agreed readily.
Bing Shi waited until they were in a game and typed into a group chat.

『Bing Shi:』Hey, Let's win this game! Oh, and I'm a girl, first time playing! But I'll cheer on you~

The group chat went out of control:

『Garrectum:』A girl? Which bastard invited a girl to the party!?

『Alifessid:』Her rank is high! Is someone carrying her?

『Alifessid:』RIP my rank...

『Garrectum:』Fūck is this another lose?

『CourtlyItur:』Go back to the kitchen woman!

『Garrectum:』Report Bing Shi and whoever invited her!

The whole room went silent. If Atlan wanted it on hard mode, then do it yourself! No need to take them along! They cried out bitterly.

Xuan Mu laughed out loud. She just had to make a ruckus. Then, he got a whisper from her.

『Bing Shi:』I just downloaded this game, are you sure? God, you really created an account with my name and ranked me up? When did you become such a troll?🤨

She laughed while typing.

『Xuan Mu:』Just now, let's win!🤫

He grinned and typed back.

Seeing his answer, she couldn't help but giggle.

『Bing Shi:』Hey, don't learn bad things from me!

The game started. While both teams were fighting, Bing Shi simply put her avatar on a dance mode and chatted with the enemy team. Occasionally, she would cheer on them too!?
Her party members went furious. Didn't she say she would cheer on them?! She was not only a girl but also a troll! They gave up and started to troll with her. Coming near her avatar, they began to dance, ready to lose.
But the funny thing was, the enemy team began to dance with them too. While both teams were having a socializing party in the middle of the combat, an Assasin in stealth mode sneaked behind the two groups for a surprise attack. That's how an enemy team was wiped out by Xuan Mu. They won just like that.

『Bing Shi:』Easy win! No need to thank me. 😎

『Everyone:』A Goddess~

『Bing Shi:』I said no need to thank me, I wasn't the one who wiped out the whole team, haha!

『Everyone:』Teach me sempai!

Bing Shi ignored them and whispered to Xuan Mu.

『Bing Shi:』I was so cool, did you see that? 😎

『Xuan Mu:』I can't stop laughing, that was epic.👌

She even switched the spotlight to him. He wanted to say it was cute but was too scared to tell her, afraid she'll run away.
Note N.1 - You have no chance with her in real life. She doesn't approach men in real life.
When he was with her, he had to use his brain cells like crazy, just one wrong move and she would be gone. Forever.

Xuan Mu reminisced their first encounters...
He was 11 when he first met her. She played the game for a year while he just started. They were too far apart. She noticed him first and was the first one to start a conversation. When she got to know his age, she got interested and started to chase him around the lake with hearts above her head, telling him how innocent he was for running away from a girl.
Note N.2 - Be mysterious, but if she takes an interest, always respond, don't ignore her.
She helped him to level up. They chatted and played for at least five days before she suddenly disappeared.
The whole server was curious how out of nowhere, a high ranked archer deleted her account. She was forgotten fast by all, but not him. A popular girl talked to him. Even though it was in a game, he remembered her name, Bing Shi. The first one to notice somebody like him. Later, he found the game boring and stopped playing too.
The second time he met her, was when he was 13. The same game. She was there, this time as a shaman with the same name. And she remembered him! How? He was the only boy she ever chased around, finding it funny how he always ran away like a scared kid. He found it funny too, being chased around by a girl.
He asked her why she left, and her answer was:
『Bing Shi:』I don't like men, but I'm still attracted to them, they are fun! I never want to be attached to anything, so when I start to get attached I leave. It's easiest online, haha. I met some girls online, but they are always so dramatic, it's hard to have fun with them.🙄

〖 Being alone is good, I like to be alone too.〗

They had so much fun together. She helped him to gain experience again, laughing at him, asking:

『Bing Shi:』Why is your level still the same as I left it? You are so strange! 😂

『Xuan Mu:』It's a brainless task, which doesn't need any skills.😪 And I like to challenge my mind so I don't play MMO often.

『Bing Shi:』That's cool, I'm the opposite, I like MMO because I can shut down my mind. 🙃

he was a monster. She helped him for 10 hours straight! What's wrong with her? But it was so cool. He never met someone who could play for such a long time, thinking he was the only one.
She left after three days, without words. If he came sooner, they could be together longer. Why did he always arrive right before she leaves? It was boring with other people. So he decided to wait for her, she seems to especially like this game. His avatar always stayed the same level.
While he played the games he liked, he would leave his small avatar online. Occasionally, he would try private servers too. When he saw someone with her name, he asked if it was her. But what was a chance she would have the same name? None of them was the real Bing Shi.
Note N.3 - Always asks if she will come tomorrow. Because she always leaves without words.
Their third meeting was in one of the new servers, which just came out.
Trying out new servers was like a routine for him, he lost hope already.
When he logged into the beginner village, an avatar with her username stood in the middle of the main square. Could it be her? After he asked, he got to know that it was really her! He couldn't believe his eyes! He felt so lucky to meet her again. Bing Shi was surprised that somebody could still remember her.
She had a higher level, as always...

『Bing Shi:』Whenever I meet you I feel like your sugar mommy, haha! Come, let me carry you.

Xuan Mu grinned. She could always make him laugh. She never talked to other men when she was with him, she found them boring compared to him. He felt giddy inside, she could make him feel so special and happy.
He tried to think up a way, to let him know unsuggestively if she was still the same as before, an untouchable girl. He liked it about her, how she didn't fall prey to other men easily.
She was very smart, talkative, and secretive. He enjoyed chatting with her as it was like a war of minds between them.
Sometimes he felt like she was testing him, judging his every move.

Now, they could finally play together.
He was about to ask her if she wanted him to teach her how to play but when he saw her message, his world shattered. He started hyperventilating.

〖 Calm down! I have to stop her from leaving!〗

He wrote the first thing which came to his mind and started to scratch his chest over his shirt.

〖 Stop it... Stop hurting... Why does it hurt so much?!〗

Imagine when someone suddenly appears at your lowest, makes you happy, and when you think you are the happiest person alive, they leave without words.

『Bing Shi:』I started to get too attached to you. But because you were the only one who I couldn't find fault with, I decided to inform you before I leave. It's like you were too perfect and I hate perfect things. They scare me.

His whole being broke down; he began to scratch his chest again and again to numb his pain.
It was only for three months! That's too fast. He felt happy that she felt attached to him but more than that, he was scared of her, leaving him! Did his nightmares finally become reality? Why was he feeling like this?
He hates his parents for giving birth to him.
He didn't want to be born.
Nobody asked him.
He hates this world.
He hates everybody.
The older he gets, the more hatred he feels towards everything.
Gaming could make him cope with it, numbing his brain from such thoughts. She could make his mind work even more. With her, his mind was overworking so much that he could even forget about his sick self.
She likes funny guys. He tries to be funny.
She hates suggestive men. He never suggested anything.
She doesn't like men who smoke. He doesn't smoke.
She doesn't like men who drink alcohol. He never touched alcohol before.
She hates men who are abusive towards their wives. He never abused anyone, he hates those men too.
She hates cheaters. He is not a cheater, he hates cheaters too.

『Xuan Mu:』Please, don't leave. You saved my life.

The sentence he typed out when he wasn't thinking. It was so cheesy that she might run away for being suggestive! He even started to hate his brain for destroying everything. He couldn't understand what's going on inside his mind. Why's everything so messy!?

『Bing Shi:』Oh, how?

The girl on the other side laughed at how cheesy it was. Usually, she would feel vexed, but somehow she could tolerate it from him.

He felt nauseous because of too much fear. He put his hand on his mouth trying to hold it in. But his face was full of tears.

『Xuan Mu:』I just hate everything. It wasn't my decision to be born, at least I wanted to make a decision when to die. I tried sleeping pills at first and almost succeeded but they found out. Now they don't even let me lock my door.

『Bing Shi:』I feel the same. But I love myself too much to hurt myself.

The girl on the other side started crying, the first time she felt someone could understand her.

〖 So she feels the same as me?〗

〖 I couldn't tell at all.〗

〖 ...But I don't love myself... I hate myself as much as this world...〗

『Xuan Mu:』But when I'm with you I don't have those thoughts. You are the only one I don't hate. Don't worry, we can always stay like this. Just don't leave, please.

〖 Please, let her stay, please, let her stay.〗

『Bing Shi:』Will you kill yourself if I leave?

She asked with her brain's permission.

『Xuan Mu:』I will.

He typed out seriously.

『Bing Shi:』So if you die I'll become a killer?

『Xuan Mu:』No! It's from my own will.

『Bing Shi:』Then let's continue being friends until you decide to take your life back. I'll keep it for now. But I'm not promising anything.
『Xuan Mu:』Just keep it. You can do whatever you want with it, but please, never leave without words.
He felt relieved, he could make her stay. He stopped his hand which was scratching his heart.

In this world kids develop a Qurik when they are 4 years old. Quirks are superpowers that just started showing up all around the world around 100 years after a newborn was glowing gold. There's 3 types of quirks transformation, emitters and mutation. Mutation is a quirk you're born with usually it's extra appendages or appendages that's not usually on the humanbody. Emitter quirks are quirks that can emit their quirk outside their body without without hardly any negative outcome like being able to control flames without getting burned. Transformation quirks are quirks where you can temporarily boost your body's natural strength, speed, defense etc for a limited time. Quirks development depend on what types of quirks your parents have. 70% of the population have quirks and if you train them hard enough you can be a hero.

My momma haves an emitter type quirk that deals with lightning named Sparks, while my dad has a mutation type quirk named 4-Arms. My parents weren't interested in training their quirks to become heroes. I don't really see why though heroes are amazing. My momma is a librarian, while my dad is a gaming creator for some company.

"When can we goooo?"

Soon your appointment isn't until 3."- Mom

"Dad not gonna go?"

"Sorry sweetie he gotta work."

"Awww."

The only way to tell that a quirk is about to develop is to get a x-ray on your foot to see if a bone growing in your foot that a quirkless doesn't have. If it doesn't develop then you won't develop a quirk. I'm not born with a mutation quirk like my dad so I have to get an x-ray.

*At Bellevue hospital after many x-rays* ( TLN* it's a hospital in New York I'm hinting that they live in New York)

'Finally why did they have to take so many? Its not like I was moving'

"Sorry Zack can't tell you when or even if you're even gonna develop a quirk." -Doctor

The picture itself was cloudy my foot itself was there but there were no bones at all. 

"How's this possible? With quirks relating to intelligence bugs like this should be ancient history."- Mom

"I know it's very weird all we can do here is complain to the manufacturer of the X-ray machine and have someone to fix it. If you want I can get ahold of the local community hospital and ask them to do it?"

Dad's been working on a new video games for the last 2 years almost 3 now. It's supposed to be a very big project. It's a mmo that their company is going to be releasing soon for PC. He hasn't said much about it only that I would be able to play it when it comes out. Me and my dad loves to play video games it's our bonding time. Whenever he's not at work he's with me, he barely gets any time away from the company. We've even played some MMO's together with obviously my father's permission.

Test has show that the body itself is made of brain cells probably an increased intelligence but utterly useless because there is no way to communicate, no ears, no eyes food is not necessary can't tell if quirk user can sleep. The body of a slime is quite durable but can't make much use of it most that they can do is lightly jump. There's theories that that the quirk users conscious will always be in the Slime body but no actual Theory backs it up as time passes they slowly become less responsive or less jumpy.

Year 2030 has given rise to new heights for the MMO RPG games in all over the world. One such special game and the current highest grossing game "World at War" a world war 2 simulated game is taking over the youth. After waiting for 2 hours in a line Vaibhav finally got the copy of game. "Man....That was one tiring experience but finally got this" said Vaibhav wiping sweat off of his forehead.

Vaibhav is a 26 year old otaku who loves to watch anime and read manga and novels but also a history enthusiast. He is history teacher at MP high school. He always loved the war and strategy based games since he was a child. With the death of his parents at young age he spent time by playing virtual reality games to lower his pain. He lived with his grandparents. 

Vaibhav was waiting for the game World at war to be released  for past two months since its announcement. "Who should I become? Hitler, Mussolini, Chamberlain or someone other?" wondered Vaibhav who was on cloud nine. On his way home, Vaibhav was just thinking about who he could be and how he could actually alter the history of the world if he chose to take one of the Axis alliance as his character. "I think I should introduce this game to my students but wait wouldn't that reveal me as an otaku?" a cold breeze swept down the spine of Vaibhav as he thought about it. "They will surely find it weird cause I always lecture them about studying more and gaming less but man some of them will miss the chance" Vaibhav wondered as he was returning home. 

While walking he realised that a 6 year old boy was playing football and accidentally his ball went on the road. The boy without caring jumped over the fence to get his ball. A car in distance making lot of horning caught attention of Vaibhav. The car was in full speed approaching the boy. Without a second thought Vaibhav jumped over the fence of the road. He knew he wouldn't reach in time so he dived towards the boy to push him to the side of the road. But Vaibhav wasn't lucky enough to get away as he got hit by the car.  As he fell down on the road a huge crowd gathered to check on him. People tried to call ambulance but to their dismay he already passed away. 

"Ow ow ow! Why is my body paining and where exactly am I?" Vaibhav was sitting on a chair in the darkness that covered entire room with light on him and the chair next to him where an old looking dude was sitting with a look of amaze on his face. " Who are you and where am I? What is up with this creepy place?" said Vaibhav who was trying to find any clue at all about the place and that's when he realised he doesn't have his game with himself that he had bought and he was involved in a car accident. The old man with a grin smile said, "You are an unpredictable human." Vaibhav with confused face "You high or something? What is this place and what happened to that boy?" 

"I'm the Isekai God that decides where the soul will go. You see, you were not supposed to die. It was that boy playing on the road was supposed to die. The boy was supposed to get hit by the car and during those events no one was supposed to save him. You humans have predictable actions. In given scenario no body would actually go and give away their own life for someone they don't even know but you actually went and saved the boy instead of minding your own business with the game which is amazing." said the amused Isekai God. Vaibhav with slight confused expression "Is this some sort of joke?" God laughs "No it's not. Why don't you put your hand on heart? See if you have any pulse?" Vaibhav does what the god told him to do. "Ok! So this is after life then?" 

"No there is no after life unless you decide not to get reincarnate yourself. Well I give two choices to souls whether to reborn as a new individual with no past life memory or I send them to the place which you people call heaven/hell." Vaibhav thought about it for a brief moment and said to the God, "I don't want to go back to Earth. And not even in heaven/hell. Can I be reincarnated like in light novels and animes?" God laughed at him "There is no such thing like a fantasy MMO RPG game esk world. There are alternate realities like world similar to yours. Planets similar to Earth. How about I reincarnate you over there?" Vaibhav thought for a second "Is there any magical world or something?" God denied "How about I reincarnate you into the world where not only humans but also some other species have evolved? But bear in mind it won't be one of those fantasy setting gaming thing that you want. I will reincarnate you to a place which will be a real place but an alternative reality where only 3 kingdoms exist and you will be a prince of one of the kingdom that you choose. What do you say?" Vaibhav actually liked the proposal by God of Souls because he could actually play a part of a leader in the new world. He thought it's basically similar to the game he could have played if he would have lived his normal life. He asked the god, "So, it's a normal life just me being a prince and rest things are basically same?" 

" Yes but remember this is an alternate reality and you must take it seriously. This is not your game. You will get hurt and you may die." Vaibhav being excited didn't care too much and said yes to everything. The god explained the world beforehand to him "In this world there are three different races with humanity or known as MANVAS as one of them and one more thing you are the youngest child to the current king along with two elder siblings. I hope you will do something better in this life." Vaibhav with grin smile on his face nodded. And now it starts the journey of Vaibhav to begin his conquest over ruling the entire world.

He glanced at the men before him for a moment before continuing, "It's apparent that this game is different from the other MMOs made in the past. The new technical aspects that come with this fully immersive environment means it can create new circumstances that haven't existed before. You'll have limited enjoyment in Parallel World if you guys continue to hold on to the same ideals you have from other games."
"F*ck!" The experts all lifted their middle fingers toward Gu Fei in unison; there was never a turn for this outsider to lecture them when it came to gaming.
"The name of this MMO is Parallel World; therein lies some truth to it. Ultimately, this world rests in the hands of all the players. It'll only remain as just a game if everybody continues to see and play it according to how people play kimchi games[1]. Change your mentality and this can very well be a true parallel world," Gu Fei insisted.
"Look at what progress he has made; he can even say such a term like 'kimchi games'." Royal God Call turned to look at the others.
Sword Demon was looking at Gu Fei thoughtfully after hearing his speech, and everybody could clearly tell from his eyes that he was really considering this earnestly. Sure enough, Sword Demon suddenly nodded. "What you said makes sense. I'd like to try this 'Assassinate Giordano' quest with you."
"Of course, you can." Gu Fei smiled.
"Fill me in on the current details," Sword Demon said.
"Look at this…" Gu Fei took out that diary and began to explain to him what he had observed on the wall as the two men buried their heads and discussed.
"Oh no… Sword Demon is learning bad things from Miles," War Without Wounds gazed at the other three mercenaries and muttered.
Royal God Call gave Gu Fei a sidelong glance as he pointed at that booklet of his and said, "Miles learned bad things from Brother Assist."
"F*ck off!" Brother Assist cursed, even though Gu Fei's present use of a booklet to explain the situation was indeed similar to how he operated.
"What about us? Are we still gonna head to Linyin City to take a look?" War Without Wounds asked.
"Well…" Brother Assist suddenly began to speak in a low whisper, keeping his mouth away from Gu Fei, "without Miles' Andrew Su's Diary, I'm afraid there's no way we can get the quest in the first place."
"Oh, you're right…" These men were still staunchly holding on to their conventional MMO mentality.
"I can't loan you this diary yet," Gu Fei said.
"F*ck me; this guy has really sharp ears!" The three men jumped in shock.
Gu Fei grimaced and shook his head before continuing, "There might be further clues in the contents of this diary, I still want to research into things a bit more."
"Why don't we head off to Linyin City first? If it's truly a necessary quest item, we'll get Miles to mail it over. I reckon Miles will be more or less done with his research by then," War Without Wounds suggested.
"Are you implying that you are not confident with the conclusion I came to from the information I gathered?" Brother Assist was discontented. He strongly believed that the quest would be found over by Linyin City.
"No, no, no," War Without Wounds hurriedly corrected himself. "I just mean that we can make our move first, and the diary can be sent over to us at a later time!"
"Much better!" Brother Assist nodded.
"Then, what about you?" The five men all looked toward the sixth man, Young Master Han. The rest had all decided what they would be doing, but he had yet to show any inclination toward either option.
"You're a bunch of idiots," Young Master Han said.
"Forget this m*th*rf*ck*r; he's really detestable!" everybody said one after another.
"Am I wrong?" Young Master Han retorted, "You guys heading off with Brother Assist is to follow the clues left behind in that diary and to pick up the quest that the Shadowmist Assassin failed to accomplish. Just what quest is this? Isn't it the same thing as what Miles is currently doing?"
The five were all left in a daze.
"Basically, even if you guys run all the way to Linyin City and manage to pick up the quest, you will still end up coming here to do the same thing as what Miles is doing, so what difference does it make? Yet here you guys are, disagreeing over minor details; what else can you all be but a bunch of idiots?!" Young Master Han said.
"Uhm… Perhaps, the situation will change after picking up the quest…" Brother Assist tried to reason. This was also a very logical assumption based off on conventional MMOs: completing the previous step might very well provide a solution to something that could not currently be done.
"No way; it can change?" Gu Fei was afraid of this. He had worked hard at jotting down everything he had observed in his booklet. Everything would go to waste once more if the situation changed when the quest was picked up on their end.
"It's just a speculation," Brother Assist hurriedly added.
"I think it's best if we follow what we've just agreed on. Brother Assist and you guys shall head over to Linyin City to see if the quest really exists. Miles and I will remain here and take note of the situation. If it's really a quest, we will wait for the others to return from picking up the quest, and we can all finish it together!" Sword Demon proposed.
"Oh… That works, too!" Gu Fei nodded his head in agreement. Doing it this way ensured everybody could do what they had all decided on. Brother Assist, War Without Wounds, and Royal God Call all got up and immediately departed for Linshui City.
"I'll bring you to check out the situation over there," Gu Fei said to Sword Demon.
As the two of them got up and prepared to leave, Gu Fei tossed that diary over to Young Master Han before he left, "You should take a look, too!" It was an undeniable fact that he was a smart man. It would simply be too much of a waste if his intellect were treated as a receptacle to contain liquor and were not properly utilize.
Young Master Han dragged the diary right before him and used it as a coaster. "If I'm bored."
Gu Fei and Sword Demon left the tavern and returned to the Government City Hall, but he chose another spot of the wall to climb this time. The previous spot Gu Fei had chosen was right in front of the Government City Hall. While that was a good position to observe what was happening right outside the entrance, the view of the back of the Government City Hall would be obstructed by the very building itself, so Gu Fei was currently unaware of anything there.
Giordano's patrolling did not include the area behind the building, but Gu Fei wanted to find out if any sort of opportunities existed there. There just might be a way to sneak into the building itself to assassinate the target if there was no way that they could do the deed in the courtyard. Since there was no need to consider entering through the main entrance, there might just be such a chance available from the back.
That was the conclusion that Gu Fei and Sword Demon arrived to from their discussion. After choosing a spot, Gu Fei tossed the hook up the wall and showed Sword Demon another eye-opener.
"Look; there's no fog in the courtyard." Gu Fei had already told this phenomenon to Sword Demon, and he was affirming this fact by showing it to the Thief.
"Yeah!" Sword Demon nodded.
The Government City Hall's architecture was definitely unlike that of modern skyscrapers but was, instead, similar to a castle in an ancient mountain village, which towered above the walls surrounding the courtyard, looking foreboding and ominous.
The area behind the Government City Hall was not as spacious as the courtyard in front of the building, but the design was far more refined. The manicured lawn had a cobblestone path, flowerbeds, and small crops of trees that tastefully dotted the area. There was even a small stream that ran through it, as both Gu Fei and Sword Demon could vividly hear the sound of flowing water. Evidently, the back of the Government City Hall was a place for peace and relaxation, similar to a household's backyard.
It was apparently far too unpleasant to station guards bearing fierce mugs and weapons in such a picturesque place, so Gu Fei was pleasantly surprised to find the lack of any form of protection and defense here. Never would he have thought that it would be so effortless; with this, he proceeded to search for the backdoor to the Government City Hall.
"Over here." Sword Demon found it first and stretched his hand out to indicate it to him.
The door was nowhere as grandiose as the one by the entrance, but there were nevertheless two guards flanking its sides respectively. Gu Fei fished out the spyglass for a closer look and saw that they looked no different from the common guards.
There was bound to be trouble wherever a guard was situated, so Gu Fei continued to observe with the spyglass when he suddenly asked Sword Demon a question, "What's the era setting for this game?"
"What?" Sword Demon was stunned by this question that came out of nowhere.
"It's nothing. I was just suddenly curious of the world we are in and wanted to know more about it," Gu Fei explained.
"This… I'm not too sure myself," Sword Demon said.
"Looking at the architecture of this place, I'm not sure what sort of style this is…" Gu Fei sighed.
"I don't know either…" Sword Demon suddenly felt somewhat guilty, for he had just realized that despite being a peak expert when it came to MMOs, his understanding toward any one game was very lopsided. In fact, there were many superficial aspects of the game that he was uncertain about. Equipment, skill, PvP techniques… Were that all there was to a game's nuance?
"This Government City Hall is designed in the style of Baroque architecture," someone suddenly quipped. Gu Fei and Sword Demon jumped in shock. Turning their heads back in a hurry, they found Yan Xiaozhu making funny faces at them, while Slyris was right beside her. Slyris resumed speaking about the matter as she looked at the building before them. "If I'm not mistaken, the interspersing curved facades and oval spaces are a common feature in Baroque architecture."
Slyris turned toward the two men after sharing this information and continued, "There's no way to definitively nail down the era this game is adopted from based on architecture alone, but just from the goods, such as glass optics, that appear in Parallel World, we can narrow down the era to be some time in the 18th century, as those products were first made in that period."
"Glass optics?" The two men had no idea why Slyris had suddenly raised this.
"Your spyglass…" Slyris pointed to the item Gu Fei was holding.
"You must be a scientist!" Gu Fei and Sword Demon did not wish to admit their lack of knowledge regarding such stuff.
"He he! I told you my big sis knows a lot of things!" Yan Xiaozhu bragged.
"I don't think this is the time to discuss this." Gu Fei recovered. "What are the both of you doing here?" There was no one else when Gu Fei and Sword Demon clambered up the wall, so these two ladies probably came right after and just made their way over to them.
"My big sis and I came over to take a look after discussing about your matter!" Yan Xiaozhu informed.

Fireball? Chain Lightning? Frost Mirror… Wait just a minute; I’ve come to practice kung fu! Spells have nothing to do with me! What’s that? I’m a Mage? Oh, right! I am a Mage indeed. But… Are you certain I’m one? Alright… Feel the might of my saber! My sword! My hidden weapons! What? You’re saying I’m no Mage now? Let me prove it to you if you don’t believe me! But even if you believe me, I will still show you just how unstoppable a Mage who knows kung fu can be!

He finished typing up the registration form online - name, email and username, the game looked pretty fun - the graphics were cutesy but not cartoony.

 

He downloaded the game with the speed of a Greek God... assuming the Greek God is on a mobility scooter - the game was almost eighty gigabytes.

 

He never actually played an MMO before - a good few FPS games, more strategy games than he can count and even a few sandbox games - but never an MMO - that's partly because up until recently his internet was too shit to handle constant multiplayer - but mostly thanks to his introverted nature.

 

When the game finally download he filled in the account details and clicked play - a "server select" menu appeared - but there was only one server that wasn't greyed out - it showed over five-hundred players online.

 

A message appeared in the centre of the screen, accompanied by an "ok" button, it read: "This is a short tutorial scene to help you understand the controls, you will design your character after completing it!"

He clicked "ok"

Another message window opened - "If you don't understand something, don't hesitate to ask the other players in the chat! Use the enter key to enter the chat!"

He clicked "ok" again and after screwing around with the controls for a few seconds he realised they were pretty standard for modern games.

 

He clicked enter to open the chat box allowing him to type, an icon appeared above his avatar's head, it looked like a chat bubble with three dots inside, when he typed in his message he clicked enter again and in the bottom left my message appeared alongside the dozens of other people typing.

[JohnWillStab: Does anybody know how to play this game?] he wrote, in about three seconds his message got buried under a dozen new messages completely unrelated to his one.

 

[XPhaxX: Hey, fam - if you need a tutrial - just go into the help menu!] The reply was in a separate window labelled "Private Chats" 

Seeing his chance he wrote back - this time no icon appeared above his head, it only appears when he writes on the public chat.

[JohnWillStab: How do I do that?] he asked back ignoring their spelling mistake.

 

A few seconds later he got the reply [XPhaxX: Hold 'ALT', then use function keys, I think F4 is the help one?] 

[JohnWillStab: Yeah - no... I'm not that gullible.]

[XPhaxX: Shucks...] 

[JohnWillStab: So is there an actual guide? Because the tutorial is... a little old fashioned.]

[XPhaxX: There's a help button on the login screen] 

[JohnWillStab: k, thanks.]

He logged out and looked for the button before realising he was lied to... 

 

 

He logged back in, appearing in the same forested area as before - his character stood on a patch of dirt surrounded by a forest of gold and red leaves, the trees had white logs and the grass was yellowy-green. 

[JohnWillStab: What the hell men?!]

[XPhaxX: You're asking for help in global chat... what did you expect?] 

 

Realising the chat was not on his side 'JohnWillStab' or 'John' for short decided to try and figure it out by himself - some keyboard tapping revealed the character was controlled by the usual 'WASD' keyboard keys, the camera could be moved by holding down the left mouse button and moving it.

 

On the bottom of the screen was a row of empty squares - he could click on them but a red error message appeared reading: "Missing Spell!".

 

After moving his mouse around John came to the realisation that there was a glowing, yellow circle below the feet of a small object near the edge of the dirt patch he stood on, he slowly navigated towards it and climbed atop the object... it was a mailbox,

 

Suddenly his character fell down onto the ground limply before standing back up seconds later - "Guess this is the ragdoll physics they wrote about on the box..." he thought.

 

After some trial and error, he right-clicked the mailbox leading to a new interface - boxes like those on the bottom of the screen except for two boxes - one had the picture of a sword, the other a scroll.

He clicked on the sword and another box opened - [From - Admin: Welcome! Before you begin your journey into this world - you must select a race and class - this zone is a tutorial and as a result, anything you do here will have no effect on your final character.]

 

After reading the message he clicked into the other box - the one with the picture of the scroll, [From - ???: DN'T DELETE ANY OF THIS!!!] Aside from the text there was also an icon below - it looked like a piece of gold [Gold Coin (x9,999,999)] the name and count of the item appeared when he hovered his cursor over it - he clicked it and heard the sound of coins jingling as his character became surrounded by bright lights and various sound effects.

The messages appeared one after the other before quickly disappearing. "What the hell was that about?!" he thought.

 

The screen went black as a message appeared on the screen - [Create Character] below it was a button reading "confirm" so he clicked it.

 

He was taken to a character creation screen - [First, you must select a race! - Each race starts in a different zone and has different perks, so be careful which one you pick!] 

There was human wearing generic clothing standing in the middle of the screen, to the left were eight pictures of what looked like faces.

 

He hovered over the first one [Human]

[Humans are the most generic race - not buffs or debuffs! They start in the dry planes.] 

"That sounds like an alright race..." he thought before checking the other ones.

 

[Ogre]

[The ogres are a race of powerful warriors and shamans, the tough climate made them strong - they are stronger than a human but slower than them - they can go twice as long as a human without food or drink. Orge players start in the stone forest.]

 

[Wolfkin]

[Wolfkin are a race of feral beastfolk living in the wild glacier mountains - with both speed and strength greater than a human their weakness comes from the low health and inability to handle hot temperatures.

 

[Seafolk]

[Seafolk are a noble race of mages and healers, they are slower and weaker than humans - however, they can breathe underwater, swim faster and can replenish their stamina by being in the water - potentially allowing them to not eat any food. The major downside of the seafolk is that their stats are halved when they are on land.]

 

[Undead]

[The undead have a permanently full stamina meter meaning they never eat, drink or sleep - they can also never be poisoned and are immune to many spells - however, an undead is considered a monster and can be killed free of consequences.]

 

[Harpy]

[The harpy trades health and speed for their ability to fly for a limited time - a harpy is capable of eating raw food products without taking any loss to their health or stamina]

 

[Demon]

[The demons are a difficult race and are not recommended for new players as they are hostile to every fraction - this means that even fellow demons will be able to attack you if they wish. The demon has greater strength and speed as well as health - however, they must wear a disguise if they have any intention of working with others.]

 

[Toakin]

[Toakin sometimes called frogkin are a race of traders - capable of the highest non-combat move speed and no debuffs regardless of the terrain. However, they cannot eat cooked food and are inferior in every other way.]

 

The man was finding it difficult to choose between the human and undead - he knew he wanted to play an assassin like character - jumping off rooftops and tossing poisoned blades at his foes, so he settled on the undead.

 

The image of the human was replaced by the undead - next, he could select the gender of his character - he selected male.

 a 'decomposition' slider let him choose how badly rotted the body should be - '1' was basically a vampire - pale and with what looked like eyeliner but otherwise human - '10' was a skeleton, he chose a 1.

 

The 'race' allowed for the undead to be a different type of undead - like an undead seafolk or undead harpy, naturally, they wouldn't receive any of the given race's bonuses.

He decided to stick to an undead human.

 

After fiddling with the hair and facial features he decided on a black ponytail and handlebar moustache and a slight fringe.

 

There were four sliders - Age, Weight, Muscle and Height, he set them to his desired settings, the undead looked young - like he died in his mid-twenties, with visible muscles and average height.

 

[Now that you have selected your race - you have to pick your classes!] 

The interface shifted to show three icons - a sword, bow and wand.

Since John wanted to be a staby-rogue, he selected the sword.

 

[The melee class uses close-range weapons and martial arts abilities to defeat their enemies!]

Below appeared a dozen or so icons - various weapon types appeared, axes, maces, long swords, short swords, hammers, dagger, flails, shields and whatnot.

He selected the dagger and tried to click the continue button - [You need to select two sub-classes! Pick another one!] 

 

Looking through the icons he selected the fist icon - "An assassin should know how to fight someone hand-to-hand, right?" the man though.

 

He clicked continue and the screen faded out to black one last time before it faded into a dull blue forest - like a dark, grey, blue-green forest - the trees had grey bark and the sky was cloudy and stormy.

 

Below he finally saw the icons - he hovered his mouse over the first one [Slash: deals 1 x (Weapon damage*strength)]

[Shiv: deals 2 x (Weapons damage*strength)+ distance bonus - Note: can't use in combat.]

[Kick: deals 0.5 strength]

 

On his top left, he saw a portrait image of his character - as well as his level [Level: 1]

John did as instructed and saw his stat page.

John closed the stat menu and decided to just head in one direction. After a solid minute of walking a small yellow message appeared in the corner of the screen [Speed +0.01]

He checked his stats page to confirm and his speed has in fact increased.

 

The next thing happened in a flash - his character burst into flames, he fell to the floor in a ragdoll state as his health drained down to zero in about two seconds. 

[Your character has died, you may wait ten minutes to respawn at your place of death or respawn at the nearest town now.] read the message.

 

He clicked the second option and appeared in a town - the buildings looked tall and gothic in architecture - with black fences and large windows - in perfect unison several NPCs called out "Stay back, undead!" as they charged towards him - John broke into a sprint (not literally, he walked at the normal speed) heading for the gates, he moved his camera to see what's behind him only to see that he was still chased by ten or so guards - and their speed stat was a lot higher than his.

 

Suddenly guards appeared from the other side of the gate and attacked John - killing him in a single slash.

[Your character has died, you may wait ten minutes to respawn at your place of death or respawn at the nearest town now.] he chose the second option again - he appeared a few meters away - he didn't even have a loading screen this time - the guards ran towards him and despite his strategy of "running in another direction" he got killed again.

 

[JohnWillStab: THIS GAME IS SO F!@KING BROEKN!] he complained in chat.

[WillWillWas: ...you chose undead, didn't you?]

[JohnWillStab: yeah! Why even have a race if it's unplayable!?!]

JohnWillStab saw the man approach him - it was a human, with pale, almost white hair - the character was dressed in heavy-looking white armour - a massive shield and thick sword on his back.

A short beard clung to the man's jawline.

 

[JohnWillStab: Look - I don't know what the *'s are about - but try asking for help in public chat - I don't know what you're saying.]

 

[Bonifacius: ...]

[JohnWillStab: ?]

[Bonifacius: ...]

[Bonifacius: mine own god, art thee an undead?! I has't to killeth thee!]

 

The armoured man drew his shield and sword and approached John - [Bonifacius: *Strikes the enemy*]

While Bonifacius was writing JohnWillStab ran up to him and started spamming the [kick] spell causing Bonifacius to keep replaying the "hit" animation.

[Bonifacius: thou art a stout foe! but I has't the pow'r of god on mine own side!] 

[Bonifacius: *Strikes the enemy*]

JohnWillStab continued kicking the enemy, Bonifacius cast [Shield Bash] killing JohnWillStab instantly and knocking his ragdoll corpse flying through the sky and landing on the stone ground - he used the mouse to move the camera around to see where he was.

 

JohnWillStab was in the town again...

"Agh, my head feels like it is going to explode. Sis? Yo, SIS!! Where are you?"
"Behind you!" said Sarah as she leaped at Matt's chest as he turned around.
*OOF* "Hahaha, I missed you so much Sarah!"
Sarah squeezed onto Matt, threatening to never let him go as she began to tear up. She had been alone for years, but now she was finally able to touch her brother. Ever since she was in college, she hadn't seen him…
Matthew thought about pulling her off of himself, but he decided it would be better to reembrace his sister. He missed her so much more.
As the hug went on for minutes. Matthew thought about all of the pain and the torment that she must have gone through JUST to be here.
Heck, she was a disembodied brain running off of janky code that was put together by a man frequently found slamming his keyboard with all of his might.
"Hey, sis? Which mode are we going to go into?" Said Matt as he fought for breath.
"What do you mean? There is only the MMO version." Sarah finally pulled away from the hug to look at her brother's kind blue eyes.
"OH, so little missy doesn't know about the second layer, or second game. I thought you uploaded the whole system to the world…"
"I did, there is no other game mode. Are you going crazy, again?" Said Sarah as she was sweating a little from the lack of memories.
"Oh, we will see who is crazy, MUHAHAHAHA!!" Said Matthew totally not scaring his sister…at all.
"Ya know, the villain laugh doesn't really scare me much anymore." Said Sarah as she walked to the starting screen thinking, [I hate when he does that, freakin' goosebumps!
Sarah walked off. Matthew thought she was lost.
"Dang…well wait! Where are you going?"
As Matthew was hustling on over to his sister, he noticed a large creation screen.
"WHAT THE HELL, WHY IS THE GAME PUTTING IT HERE? THE START SCREEN IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE ACCESSED LITERALLY????!?!?!?!?!"
"Uh, what's wrong?" Said Sarah as she stopped walking to look at the horrified expression on her brother's face.
"Sarah…what did you do when you uploaded it. Please tell me you didn't remerge the layers…"
"What? No, "I" didn't do anything. This is how the game started and it has been running for around 4,000 in game years. I figured it was fine…"
"4-4-4,000 years…that means that the game should have crashed, but the net-code should not be like this!"
Matthew was staring at a simple character creation screen. It would allow someone to import their own looks or create a new image for their adventure. In most games, this system was just fine and worked, but as the separation and encryption of game data became more popular it changed. The newer processes would have temporary moderator privileges to access VERY particular parts of the system. This is only to change physical features.
The reason the developers could not leave this older-system in place was because of the incidents…
There were cases of hackers removing the logout button and that lead to serious atrocities being committed.
One of the groups had revoked physical access to a woman's body but allowed for her senses to work and they beat, abused, and then…they raped the girl.
The system was supposed to work with multiple layers of access, and it was supposed to be perfect but there are always bugs. There are always points of layer connection.
"FUCK, sis, this is not good. I don't know what we are going to do. Can you access the world?"
"I can try…"
As Sarah began to noclip into the real world, she felt a pressure increase on her and the body began to dematerialize.
"AHHHHHHHHHHH!"
Sarah fell to the ground and was rolling in pain. It wasn't real but it FELT real…
"SARAH, are you okay? What happened, did the mana-layer reject you?"
"I-I don't know…it was like my whole body was shattering and ripping apart…it was horrible."
As Sarah began to sob, Matthew hugged her even more tightly than before.
[That doesn't make a licka' sense. The mana-layer should feel like a boundary that she can't cross. I put it in place to prevent character screen tomfuckery.
This might be bad…if she felt like that..WAIT!]
"SARAH, how much mana do you have right now? You should have the mana bar if you went into the world…"
"Um, it is empty, and it is refilling…what does that mean?"
"Uh, I think it means that the demon lord was successful…yuppers…big ol' successful boi that man was. See, the cliché ending involved fighting the demon lord whose real name is Frank. He is actually a decent guy, but he just wants to see the world burn…
Frank is supposed to fight everyone as the last boss. There is a great event planned and there will be Mtn Dew afterwards for everyone that participated. That was probably around 3,980 years ago…"
"Oh…"
"YEAHHHHHHH, this stuff might be FUCKED. If he did succeed, then the mana-layer would literally be destroyed."
"W-W-WHY? WHY WOULD YOU MAKE A GAME WHERE THE DEMON LORD BREAKS IT?!?!?!?!"
"WOAH, listen, all of these games are filled with moments that are preplanned, and most of the game is like that, BUT I encourage independent thought. The skills in the game are made by me, but that is only in the MMO version. In the RPG version, you have to build your own spells. You have to BECOME a wizard that is capable of bringing down a FUCKING METEOR. It is my favorite version of the game…and it was meant for people to play both, as Sun Su said, "If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle."
"So, you made the game hard by making the players fight their greatest enemy?"
"Yes, they had to defeat themselves. Not literally. But the game would analyze their brains during play and the Psychologist would psychoanalyze them…
Like, if someone had commitment issues, then when he fought, he would be FORCED to choose a path, and then if he revoked his choice, he would be punished by increasing the boss' power. It had to be a party of 10 people, that were not perfect, but able to face their mistakes and fight against their innate desires…"
"Woah…that is a little intense don't you think…"
"It was made to be reality for these AIs, I wasn't going to send players inside to slaughter them on repeat and make it a literal HELL. Fuck that, the player should RISE to the challenge and beat them. FAIR. AND. SQUARE. If I were to be a God, I would have to be fair. I have to offer the same amount of power to both sides…I had to give each side a fighting chance. The inhabitants of the world get a massive head start and they keep it. But the players are able to undergo the most dynamic change, not just in their character but in their CHARACTER…"
"Bro…" said Sarah as she hugged Matthew as hard as she could.
"I am so sorry…I didn't know you were so…"
As Sarah began to cry and hold Matthew, he stood there with a blank look on his face. His eyes weren't wrathful, they weren't angry. They were dead.
[Ah, I suppose it is like that huh…the paradise with my sister is so short lived. I am a fucking idiot, why do I get my hopes up?!]
*Smooch* "Cheer up, we are not giving up yet. We can still make this work, there could still be an adventure!" Said Sarah after kissing Matthew on the forehead.
As Matthew wiped the saliva from his head he thought about the mana-layer and the implications that it would have for the rest of the system. How could they even access the character creation screen? It didn't make a lick of sense. This world should be half-loaded and bugged to all hell, if not crashed and nonexistent anymore.
"Hey sis, how much data is the world using?"
"It is using 71 Pebibytes of data, why?" Said Sarah as she read the message just sent to her.
As Matthew fainted, he saw the sky. It was so white and fluffy.
*Thud*
"AHHH! MATTY, WHAT HAPPENED?"
[Airway, breathing, circulation.]
[There is nothing wrong…just fainted…]
Sarah let out a big sigh and could not believe that this was happening…

Matthew was a “genius” AI theorist that had spent his formative years working and building his repertoire. You see, it was actually how he paid for his schooling, but while writing his doctorate, there was an accident…
Sarah had been nearly killed and there wasn’t much time until she succumbed to her wounds. But Matthew was not there to witness her passing.
His pain ate at him until he finally snapped.
He stole the continuous brain scans taken by the hospital and got to work incorporating his “unethical” AI practices that were “strictly theory” at the time.
After 9 long years, his plan was complete…

       "Macleod! What you think you are doing." Shizuka, a young lady complained indignated.
       "Ah cannae talk right now. Ah'm in the middle of a raid and you cannae pause a bloody MMORPG."
       "Macleod, you can't play games in the office. What about your work?"
       "Ah finished in five minutes."
       "Them you pretend you are working like everybody else. If the boss sees you playing she's going to think that we all play too."
       "Ah dinnae have any other place to play."
       "Play at home."
       "Me computer canoe stand this game. And why they put a computer with this graphic cardboard just to road programs that an msx can run."
       "What is an msx?"
       "The best computer of the 1980s, Has the biggest games library of the time."
       "Why you don't buy a new computer to play at home?"
       "Ah was joining money for the future. Ah didn't learn five languages just to plays games. That's an investment in meself. Also, Ah already used too much money to buy the released a limited edition of garage kits from me favorite anime."
       "What's a garage kit?"
       "An unmounted figure that ye mount and paint by yerself." She showed a picture of her phone.
       "Those are beautiful. You really made them?"
       "Yep!" She said with all the pride of the world.
       "What you do with them? You sell?"
       "Och! No, no, no, no, no no!"
       Zangh Li pulled her chair to get close.
       "Yo Ginger! My computer is working like crazy, what you did? I'm just doing a worksheet and is slow like a slug."
       "Ah using all the graphic cardboards in net Zhang Li."
       "Seriously?" Shizuka tapped her keyboard to check the speed. "There´s something you don´t know how to do Macleod?"
       "Vitamin D."
       "Playing games again?" Zhang Li looked at her screen. "Why you don't use another device like someone else."
       "Och! Okay, Okay! We killed the boss."
       "You know Ginger. Weaboos like you gave a bad reputation to westerners."
       "Ya! Ya! Ah'm the living proof that the stereotype of the attractive red hair is inaccurate, but the creepy ginger right on the spot."
       "I'm not talking about your appearance."
       Margaret started to disconnect some cables.
       "What are you doing?"
       "Turning off my portable HD. Someone can erase my save if Ah left in the Office." She put in her purse and took a metal case from her bag.
       "What is that now?"
       "Me videogame."
       "Video… Play in your phone like everybody else, Dammit."
       "Calm down. Calm down. Ah, use me mobile." Margaret put her videogame in back in the bag and got her smartphone. 
       "You still will make me need an analyst." Zhang Li pulled her chair back in her place.
       "Och. Zhang Li is too stressed."
       "She has a point Macloud." Shizuka sighed. "You should give time to those games and cartoons and get out more to know people."
       "Are ya hitting on me Shizuka?"
       "No! I prefer people which the eyebrows I can see and are male. And you are the one who hit on me."
       "Only when Ah'm horny."
       "You are horny, hungry, and tired all the time. Why you don't look for a guy?"
       "Okay! Hey Ha-joon!"
       "What you want Highlander?" He answered from his computer.
       "Let's go out after work to change some smooches?"
       "I have a girlfriend Highlander."
       "See." She raised her eyebrows. "All the food ones already have owners."
       "You should be less pick, Macleod. What you don't try something with one of your otaku friends> That Charles could be a good match."
       "Charles only has eyes to loli Asian girls."
       "And about Yoo-joon, he doesn't look bad."
       "He doesn't like 3d human girls, and computer-generated either, only 2D girls in anime style."
       "Yamada? He looks a bit skinny, but is not all that bad."
       "Yamada doesn't talk with girls, We only talk by text messages, If Ah talks with him he could die."
       "Where the heck you find those guys?"
       "Playing MMO."
       "Ask Julio out. He's a South American lover, goes out with everybody."
       "No way. I heard him calling me a dragon."
       "And what the problem."
       "You saw dragons in American cartoon? Ah saw on the internet that dragon in South America means a fat woman without boobs." She pointed at herself.
       "Maybe she was talking with the Southeast meaning, to us, a dragon lady is strong, deceitful, domineering, or mysterious."
       "You think so?"
       "Yes. you are all those things; strong, deceitful, domineering, or mysterious."
       "Whit a second! Ye said Ah'm deceitful?"
       "Hey, guys," Ha-joom called the attention of everybody in the Office. "You know that the lunchroom is in reforms, we need someone to buy our lunches. Let's chose in the hat again."
       "Ah, the hat. Is going to be me, Ah know me luck."
       "Don't say that Macleod. You are too pessimistic."
       She picked a paper from the baseball hat. "See? Ah told you."
       "Okay, guys!" Ha-joom said out loud. "Highlander and Julio are getting our lunches today."
       Whit all the bad will of the world Macleod get the requests and went to the elevator. There she saw a plaque. "In maintenance, use the stairs. Are ye freaking kidding me? This is the fourteen floor."
       After an exhaustive, way she went to the inferior floor, where she saw a technician going out the elevator.
       "You taking out the plaque?"
       "I already fixed." He said. "You can get the elevator now."
       "Och!"
       "look at the bright side Mamacita, we made a good exercise." Julio wink at her with thumbs up.
       Angry and suet she went to the local café with her requests. "Sorry, we don't have latte today."
       "Without Latte are you guys without milk?"
       "No. We are without coffee."
       "Coffee? Yer is a cafeteria, is writing café in the window outside. How ye don't have coffee?"
       "After the lunchroom in the Akaitech building went into reform we had an increase in the clients."
       "Give-me hot cocoa instead."
       "We don't have more chocolate."
       "…"
       Julio laugh. "It's not your day Highlander."
       "What the name I call?" The clerk asked.
       "Call Margaret."
       They went to wait outside.
       "Your name is Margeret mamacita?"
       "What you think it was?"
       "Ginger Macleod." He said. "Everybody calls you Ginger, Macleod, or Highlander."
       "No. Me name is Margaret Macleod."
       "Like the Highlander, that's a rare name."
       "Not in the U.K. In the last RPG convention Ah went in Edinbra, half of the people was with a name tag Macleod and the other half named Smith."
       "Edinbra? Where is that?"
       "How ye dinnae ken? Is the capital of Scotland."
       "Is not Edinburgh?"
       "People speak wrong, is Edinbra. People pronounce all the Scots and Irish names wrong."
       "Why they don't change how the names were written, so people can say it right?"
       "Because they were Scots. If Scots dinnae like to complicate things they will not invent a game like golf."
       "That's why you came so far from home?"
       "No. I'm came to Korea because Ah'm looking for Seoul."
       "Oh! I get it. Because people say gingers, don't have a soul."
       She answered with a snarky smile.
       "You really is one of a kid."
       "Ah ken. Ah´m a left handed head hair."
       "Why people call head hair Ginger? Is because of gingerbread?"
       "Call me gingerbread again and I call you an ambulance."
       "Gingerbread is offensive?"
       "Ye dinnae notice that ginger is the n-word rearranged?"
       "It's true." He laughed. "You are funny Macleod."
       They are standing near a closed signal, and she stared at an advertisement in a bus stop. A Gorgeous woman on the beach with a straw hat and a white dress licking a popsicle. "Are ye freaking kidding me. This woman to sell coconut popsicles?"
       Julio laugh. "People use sexiness to sell everything those days."
       "Fair skin me arse. Ah bet that anyone will prefer a girl with a honey bronze skin like that than me white face."
       "Your face is more to pink and red, Highlander," Julio said. "If you could join your freckles you will be darker than her."
       "Good one Julio."
       "No serious. I never saw anybody whit so many freckles as you."
       "You never will go out with a girl like me."
       "Where you get this idea. I would love to brag to my friends that I go out with authentic red hair."
       "Ye dinnae think Ah'm fat, without boobs??"
       "You never went to America? By American standards you are skinny, and by the standards from here your boobs are great."
       "That sounds like a proposition."
       "If want."
       "Deal. Next Friday?"
       "Next Friday, put on your agenda."
       Margaret got her phone and started to tip. "So… Ah'm not a dragon lady."
       "Of course you are. strong, deceitful, domineering, or mysterious."
       "Oy! Are ye calling me deceitful too?"
       "Margaret."
       "They are calling us." Juan entered the café. "You can be grumpy, but is a good soul."
       "Nobody told ya? We gingers dinnae have souls."
       The signal opened and high school girl run to cross the street but a trunk in high speed was coming towards her from the hill. A stereotypic nerdy otaku saw and rapidly pushed the girl and fall in his knees.
       With impressive speed, Margaret ran, hold the guy, and pulled him out of the way of the trunk, only hitting her foot.
       "My… You save me." The schoolgirl helps him to get up.
       "And you save me. Miss, thank you very much."
       With a cocky attitude Margot hop showing her muscles. "Seems that all the exercise Ah did for me cosplay presentations pay off at the end."
       "Are fine miss?"
       "Ah naw, It broke the heel of me shoe."
       "Miss! Look out, the trunk is coming back!"
       "Ah, Fuuu…"

Margaret was a weaboo that only cared for comics, novels, and games. Until she died reincarnated in the body of a small child, daughter if the poorest countess in a fantasy world,
Now she wants to be an overpowered adventurer but is not an easy task and she brought something else with her, that will create a lot of problems.

A group of executives was sitting in a conference room. They were discussing the progress of their company's first product. Capos had already performed beyond their expectations. Soon a man in casual clothes joined the conference. The meeting had officially begun.

Michael looked around the conference table and observed his executives. Of course, his company was still too small to have a full team of executives. This was just all the team leaders of the different departments. 

" So let's go around the table and talk about the updates from each department."  Michael instructed. Honestly, he did not really know how to lead these conferences; in the future, he was going to just have Jennifer host them so he can just spectate. 

The different team leads gave updates from their departments. The server team wanted to rent more servers. The sales team wanted to run a discount promotion for diamonds. They also wanted to offer bulk packages for the wealthy gamers. Michael listened to them and approved all of their requests
" How much sales do we have for Diamonds?" Michael asked. This figure was the most important one. 

" So far we had eight million dollars since diamonds were released four days ago. However, there is an issue; The sales figures are slowing down because of diamond farmers who resell the diamonds on grey markets." The analyst replied. 

Michael was happy with the sales performance but was irritated by the farmers. He designed the game to make it bot proof in order to prevent this. However, he overestimated the economy of certain 3rd world countries. The wages were so low in these countries that it was better to farm currency in video games and sell them. 

There was no way Michael could prevent human botters in the game. He thought about limiting the playing time for each account; however, that would take away the flexibility from casual players. During vacation days the casual players might want to play for long periods of time, therefore, the time limitation was unfair.

" Do you guys have any ideas on how to solve this?" Michael asked the team leads. 

They all looked around and scratched their heads. In reality, this issue plagued nearly all MMO developers. If there was an easy fix then it would already have been implemented in the industry. The best solution so far was to increase surveillance of players accounts to spot large RMT (real money trading) transactions. The larger gaming companies had an entire department dedicated to tracking and banning farmers. 

The sales analyst suggested the time limit but Michael shot it down while explaining his reasons. 

" Alright then, I am thinking about adding a transaction limit to the Diamonds. The diamonds can only be exchanged once after it has been purchased. This way the people who want to sell it for in-game currency can and the farmers who buy it cannot resell it on the black markets." Michael explained. This was the only other idea he could come up with. This way the play time of the players will not be limited. 

The team contemplated for a while. " What about the players who already purchased diamonds?" Rachel asked. She was the head of the customer service department. 

" Well, the same thing will apply to the diamonds they already have. They can either redeem it to make their accounts premium or they can sell it. The buyer will only be able to use it and will not be able to exchange it or sell it." Michael explained. After all, the rule has to apply for everyone to make it fair. 

" There will be a big backlash. A lot of players had hoarded the diamonds hoping its value will go higher. Now its value will tank since it can no longer be used as a commodity." Rachel explained. 

" Thats okay. It was not meant to be a commodity in the first place. This is what we have to do to ensure that our business can be successful." Michael explained. If there was a big reaction on social media then he will hire some botting companies to cover it up. Ironically, it looks like he will have to make deals with botters. 

The meeting was concluded and everybody went back to work. Michael decided to drive home to immediately make the changes to the Diamonds. He could only work on the game at home because the game engine was on the workstation at home. He could install it on his office computer but he did not want to take that risk. 

The security at this office and home were both on completely different levels. Although the office is as secure as a military base, his house has a security system from his ridiculous system. 

Michael also had to implement some other suggestion from the players. He planned on having a monthly update to implement expansions and updates. It looks like he will be busy this weekend.

Redwood City, California: ER Games Headquarters

 Wilfred Connor was playing a game on his phone; the more he played it the more irritated he would get. There was nothing wrong with the game. It's just that as the CEO of the largest gaming conglomerate in the world, he wished the game was developed by his company. 

ER Games was mostly focused on console games. However, the mobile gaming market was too big for them to ignore. They had been buying up mobile games and had several top rankers. However, they don't really have a mobile game that served as a cornerstone for the company. He could already imagine Capos as his masterpiece.

" Sir, may I come in?" Someone was at the door. 

"Come in." Wilfred noticed that his Vice-president was at the door. He had instructed Lewis to do a thorough check on the game and the company. 

" I have the report about Capos ready Sir." 

Wilfred nodded giving Lewis the permission to present the report. 

" Capos was developed by a start-up called Eminence gaming. Eminence gaming has just been established a couple of months ago. The employees were hired and trained recently. The company is a subsidiary of Empyreal Holdings. The parent company only has one owner. A young man named Michael Rodriguez." Lewis explained. He had been studying the dark horse for the past week. He used all his contacts to dig up everything about the game and its developers.

Wilfred absorbed the information. After looking at the reports he was quite intrigued. The parent company seemed to be some sort of an investment corporation. It was surprising to see one person behind everything. Was this kid trying to form his own conglomerate? Did he think it was easy to form one? 

Unfortunately, the naive kid possessed the means to make a game that was beyond the capabilities of every other company in the world. 

" What about the developer team? Did you find out about them?" Wilfred asked. 

" Unfortunately, that is a big mystery. The only information available was that it was developed by a foreign team. We still have not been able to identify the real developers." Lewis explained. It was not just him, every gaming company in the world was trying to see who developed such a revolutionary game. Sadly, there was not even a trace of the developers.

" Has our agents been able to crack the game and understand the technology yet?"Wilfred asked because ER games had a secret division that acted during these kinds of situations.

" We are still working on it. The encryption technology is more sophisticated than anything we have ever seen. I am not optimistic about the results." Lewis explained. He did not want to give false hope to Wilfred. 

" Well, that leaves us with only one choice. Make them an offer for the gaming company. If they don't accept at least try to buy the game." Wilfred ordered. He had to get his hands on this game no matter what. 

" What if they refuse?" Lewis asked. After all, anybody could tell that Eminence gaming had a bright future. Why would the owner sell it?

Wilfred opened his cabinet and pulled out his cigar box. He picked a Regius Double Corona and lit it with his vintage lighter. He took a puff and breathed out. As the smoke filled up the room Wilfred turned back to Lewis.

All of a sudden Lewis felt terrified. The look that Wilfred gave sent shivers down his spine. 

" Make him an offer he CANNOT refuse!"

Michael was just an ordinary boy living in modern-day America. He grew up in an orphanage with a bleak future. One day he acquired a mysterious package only to inherit a system. Join Michael as he changes his fate and conquers his destiny; armed with a mysterious system that tries to convince him to take over the world.
