He ended the call, planning to ask Lu Kang to order the gift online for him. But then, he had a second thought. Luosang was shy, so she might feel embarrassed if she found out that Lu Kang had known about all of this. Therefore, Nian Junting decided to order the gift himself. 
It was the first time he had ever shopped online, and he found the whole process a little complicated. 
A while later, when Lu Kang came in, he surprisingly found that his boss was learning how to shop online. 
"Mr. Nian, some of the products that are sold online are not bad, but for someone like you, they're still not good enough," Lu Kang reminded him kindly. 
"Yeah?" Nian Junting was puzzled at first, then he gave up on online shopping without hesitation. 
He decided to shop in stores instead. 
It would be a little awkward, but since his woman liked those things, he should be visiting those kinds of stores more frequently in the future. He believed that he needed to get used to it. 
"Mr. Nian, your parcel." At that moment, his secretary knocked on the door and walked in, putting a parcel on his desk. 
"Yes," he responded. 
After Lu Kang and the secretary left, he tore open the parcel. As he opened the paper bag, two photos fell from it. 
In the first photo, Yi Jingxi had his arm around Luosang's waist, face filled with concern, while Luosang lowered her head. 
In the second photo, Yi Jingxi was holding Luosang's hand, face showing deep love. 
Nian Junting suddenly stood up from the chair. As he gazed at the photos, his face was as dark as the sky before a thunderstorm.

Outside his office, right after Lu Kang sat down, he heard a loud series of noises from the CEO's office, as Nian Junting had kicked a chair away. Then, Nian Junting stormed out of the office with a dark face and said to him, "Give me the car key." 
Lu Kang hadn't seen him so angry in a long time. Without knowing what else to do, he handed Nian Junting the car key. 
Nian Junting took the key and left with big steps. 
He drove near the library of the university and called Luosang. However, the call wasn't answered. 
Why didn't she answer his call? 
He angrily walked into the library, searched for a while, and finally found Luosang, who was sitting beside a window, reading. A boy in a white shirt was sitting next to her, and they were talking. 
It turned out that she didn't answer his call because she was talking to a boy. 
At that moment, Nian Junting felt that the anger he had been trying very hard to control exploded again. 
He walked up with large steps, grabbed the boy's arm, and threw him to the ground. 
Hearing the noise he created, the other students in the library all turned to him. 
"What are you doing? What's wrong with you?" The boy got up from the ground and angrily threw a punch at Nian Junting's face. 
Nian Junting grabbed his fist and stared at him furiously. On the left side of his body, his clenched fist was preparing for a fight. 
Luosang recovered from the shock, hurriedly rushed up, held Nian Junting's arm, and said, "Calm down, we were just discussing our homework." She paused, then said to the male student, "Zhou Nan, please forgive him." 
"Do you have to sit so close to discuss homework? And, why didn't he discuss it with someone else? Why you?" Nian Junting glared at her with cold eyes and said through clenched teeth, "As a woman, don't you know that you should keep a distance away from other men?" 
Once he said that, some of the other students started pointing fingers at him and Luosang. 
Luosang's face blushed because of anger. She grabbed his hand and walked outside, saying, "Come out with me. The others need to study." 
He was practically dragged out by Luosang. 
At the entrance of the library, Nian Junting refused to go anywhere further away. His face was tightened, and he seemed to be on the edge of exploding. 
"That was awful. This is the library, a quiet place. Do you know how embarrassed you've made me just now?" asked Luosang with anger. 


It was supposed to be a perfect deal in which both parties got what they needed. However, after the child was born, he tore up the agreement with discontent and told her, “Who said that we'd only have one child? I want twins! Twin brother and sister! You’ll continue giving birth to more children until you bore me a pair of twins!”
Luosang was beyond endurance. “Nian Junting, damn you…” she raised up against him, “Nian Junting, is this fair to the pure love in your heart?” 
Then, a marriage certificate was thrown at her. 
He landed on her, slowly curved his lips in a smile, saying, “Aren’t you my pure love?” 

This isn't so much a funny story as it is an Ironic one. So as you know I'm dyslexic, which means reading is... hard. but as you can probably tell I love writing, and I also love stories, so what I do is listen to audio books (insert predictable audible ad here). I actually get them from the library online. But libraries, despite not actually housing the medium I like, are actually really soothing to me. For example, I'm writing this in a library. Despite only recently discovering that I love books I have always enjoyed being in a library. Like not to read but just being there, organizing books was something I really enjoyed especially as a kid. I know "what a weird kid" but the library in my elementary school let me push the book cart around and put things away and I loved it. You might ask when I had the time to do this. And that's where the funny part is...
So in fifth grade my school did this thing to prepare you for middle school, they separated every day into four classes and with your homeroom you rotated through each of the classrooms with a different teacher. My teacher for reading did this thing where if you earned it you got the privilege of going to the library to read during personal reading time. 
I of course, being the goody too shoes that I am got my pass very quickly and proceeded to read at the library everyday. But then I discovered this love of organizing books, and reading became my second priority. Eventually the librarian caught on and told my teacher but it was all cool. I mean I had to read in the classroom again but I wasn't mad at thew librarian, she was super cool. She let us check out our own books sometimes, though this was a job only the fifth graders got to do when she was doing something else in the library. 
The library is always the part of the school that matters most to me, if a school's library is small, uncomfortable or just down right depressing then I won't like the school. I spend most of my time in libraries. I mean even though I don't like reading physical books a lot I still like the idea of having a physical version of a story I love. This causes a habit, If a read/listen to a book that I really like, as in its on my "Top 100 favorite Books" list then I find a copy when I can. Sadly I don't have the money for pretty box sets so all of my copies of my favorite books are from Goodwill. This makes for some patchwork book series sets but I like it, it adds character. At least that's what I tell myself when I pass the pretty hard cover limited addition box sets at Barnes and Nobles.
My dad runs an Ebay business, he sells used books, like from estate sales or library sales, or goodwill. He mostly deals in the bigger names/more collectible stuff, like he sells a lot of Stephan King. But sometimes when he goes to goodwill I tag along and look for a copy of my favorite books. One time I found the book "The Five People You Meet in Heaven" and I nearly squealed. Its one of those books that is just really moving. So I convinced my dad to get it for me. And now I have a copy of a book that I will never use but it will comfort me. Its like having a physical manifestation of the characters and story you love. When its an online audio book it can feel very intangible, its also nice to be able to see your favorite quotes on paper.

Being fifteen is hard, but it’s really hard when your not neurotypical. I probably spelled that wrong, this isn’t a quirky way of telling you I’m dyslexic I just genuinely tried my best and spelled that how I thought it was spelled and they put a red line under it. But I’m also Autistic/have Autism, ADHD, and of course Anxiety because there is no other way to complete my triple A battery of mental disorders. 
Now this is collection of all the stupid stuff I’ve done, all my mini misadventures. 
So I hope you enjoy my stories and laugh at me as much as I laugh at myself (that is to say a lot).


I quit stripping sometime in May. What would follow is what I call my "year of solitude," because that's essentially what it was. I had no job, and a full summer to think about the classes that I had failed. I had no idea what to do with myself. I looked for different library jobs, but only half-heartedly. I was afraid of the question that comes up on all employment applications, "Why did you leave your previous position?" "Well, you see, I was a stripper, and it was quite stressful, and made my brain think funny things, because of anxiety, so I quit, because I wasn't thinking properly, now here I am!" I also couldn't say, "Well, I just quit for no damn reason at all, because that's what it looks like." Plus, it was a dry season for library jobs. I received a steady stream of rejection notices, and I became more desperate to find a job, any job. 
Several months later, I tried re-applying for my old position at Garland. I even emailed my supervisor, explaining that I had been suffering from depression and going through several "personal issues." I tried to convey what I had learned, without being too specific, and essentially begged for a chance at my old job. But as many times as I applied for my old position, I nevertheless received rejection after rejection. That was one of the things that hurt the worst, one of the most painful thorns. I had made a mistake, and it seemed like I couldn't make it right. I had messed up so badly that the library wouldn't take me back, like a spurned lover. I tried not to worry, but to someone with anxiety, that's like trying not to sweat in front of a fireplace. 
It felt like I had been going 100 miles an hour, trying to keep all the spinning plates in the air, and when I suddenly cut out everything: no more library, no more stripping, no job, nothing, it still felt like I was going one hundred miles an hour, just in circles. 
Being unemployed is difficult, I've come to realize, because there is no impetus to get up in the morning; you have to make it for yourself. There's no job keeping you to a schedule, so instead of time being put to productive use, it just seeps out into the ground. I felt like a balloon drifting steadily up into space, where I was disconnected from everywhere. I wasn't tethered to anything. 
After so many days of being so very public, so very seen, that I withdrew totally. I hardly saw my friends, and when I went to see my family (except for perhaps my siblings), I felt it out of a sense of duty than anything else. I wanted to be alone. I honestly like being alone. I have always been introverted, content with silence, or music, or the voices of characters from books. 
But this was more than introversion; I was in a full-blown retreat. There were some days where I didn't leave the apartment at all, except to take the dog outside, and some weeks when I would go three or four days without using my car. 
Thankfully, one of my professors offered me a position as a Graduate Assistant. Since the library science program is completely online, this meant that the position, too, was online. I would help answer student questions, double-check that each citation was correct, and go to meetings once a week in Denton. It was supposed to be 20 hours per week, but the work I did clearly did not add up to twenty hours. The ironic thing is that I felt absurdly guilty over receiving money that I had not earned. I knew that the work I did amounted to five hours, ten hours at the very most, and I felt more guilty over getting a paycheck that I didn't earn than I had over getting four hundred dollars for a "date." And because it was an online position, I still didn't need to leave the apartment. 
Ironically, I thought that I had failed my classes when I was stripping because I didn't have enough time. I thought, if I just had more time, then I would be able to pass. But then, when I quit everything, I had more time on my hands than I knew what to do with. I started creating projects for myself, hobbies that should have stayed hobbies but became obsessions. I thought that because I had so much time, I needed to use every second of it and do things while unemployed that I would never be able to do otherwise. I tried writing novels; did tons of "background research" but never actually wrote a word. I made hundreds of candles and tried to sell them online. I tried looking for jobs in different states, because I wanted to be anywhere but there. I focused on so much else that I forgot to focus on arguably the most important thing: school. 
So I failed another class, and this one took me by surprise. I thought that I had done all the work for the final project, had completed all the requirements, but my professor told me that I had failed to write the weekly discussion posts.  Sure enough, when I went back to look at the assignments I had turned in, I realized I had turned in less than half. I wasn't stupid or lazy; just unfocused. Just untethered. I was angry and humiliated at myself. I banged my head against the wall, called myself stupid, shouted at myself that I would lose my student aid because of my fuckery, scratched my skin, until I drew blood. There were some rough, ugly nights. 
By the end of the semester, it was May again. A full year of loneliness, of solitude, of shame, disgust, not eating, and anxiety about money had gone by. At one point, my back account read "--$367" and I was so miserable that I couldn't even be bothered to be terrified. I just knew that something had to be done.

I pushed the library door, I entered with unsteady steps. I see the library is still quiet. I'm looking for a corner. I want to be alone. I take out my laptop from my bag. I don't want to study and I don't want to play games either. After last night's incident, I was afraid to log into the game again.
I'm sure all the players in the game will bully me and I'm not ready for it all. I don't know what to do. I just clicked my mouse until I see the video Adz has sent. With that video we won the video contest. I played the video. I just stared at the screen blankly. I still can't believe what happened last night. Why Adz suddenly disappeared ?
My tears flowed while watching that video. When I realized that, I hurriedly wiped my tears on my cheeks. Oh God ... What happened ? Why suddenly I'm like this ? Usually I'm not like this. Why do suddenly I feel messy ? I feel very sad and my heart aches. I flinch, am I in love ? Do I fall in love with Adz ?
But I've never met him and now he's gone. I also don't know why and what he was doing until that important night he disappeared.
I close my laptop and put it back in my nag. Being at the library doesn't help me. I better go back to my dorm.

"What the fuck is this?" Calvin asked, pointing to a pair of cheaply-made scrunched up ribbons with goldfish printed on it.
Donovan, without saying another word, began to laugh hysterically. There were in the college gear shop of the student union, which was a room of red, silver, and white. "They-th-they're...they're g-garters!"
"For sleeves?"
"What? No! For stockings and stuff like that."
Calvin blinked, "...stockings? Why are there two?"
"One for each leg!"
Calvin narrowed his eyes and shook his head, confused as to how a one-piece item of clothing would need help to be kept up (unless around the waist but these were way too small. "Hm."
"L-Let's get out of here, everything's overpriced as hell."
"Ye."
"You want a shirt? Thirty fucking notes! You want it on sale? Sure! Twenty-eight, ninety-nine notes! It's a note and a penny off! Best sale ever!"
"Scam?"
"Ye, Ai Di ended up painting her own shirts and merch."
"Ah."
"And then started a black market for it."
"Oh?"
"But then others followed, and it got shut down by the university for copyright reasons."
"Ah..."
"Bullshit."
The duo left the University of Karpinopolis store and began walking through a beautiful park. The sandy path wrapped around the perimeter of a large pond where ducks, geese, fish, and swans swam freely while people threw food from brown paper bags towards them.
Through the eyes of Calvin, it was a strange sight to see. "So many...in one place."
"Ye---Calvin, wait!" Something had caught Calvin's eye, and he bolted bolted off the path, and hurdled straight into a bush short of a path closer to the pond, forgetting he was now unable to leap like he could a week ago. "Calvin, a-are y-you okay?"
"I-I'm fine."
"A-a-are you sure?"
"Y-ye." He staggered up, the thorns of the rose bush clawing at his sleeves and jeans. "I...I'm fine."
"Bruh, the fuck was that? You just hopped in like a bunny rabbit."
"I---I wanted to pet the turtle."
"Turtle?" Donovan's dark eyes behind his thick glasses sparkled as they darted around before catching sight of what initiated Calvin's strange behavior. "Turtle!" He screamed, running around the bush and crouched at the end of the pond. "Hello!" He waved at a dark green turned whose shell was facing Donovan, his eyes unimpressed.
Calvin laughed a little before trying to communicate with the turtle. "Hel---!" The turtle, without a gram of patience, swam away, disappearing beneath the murky waters of the pond.
"Bruh, it...it really do be like that sometimes." Donovan laughed.
"Hm."
Donovan checked his phone and let out a small cry. "We really should get going to the library, I remember it closed pretty early because they didn't want students to commit suicide at night."
"They didn't want what---?"
"Don't fucking worry about it. Pffft, it's not like anyone's pushed anyone off or anything."
"Anyone's what---?"
"Don't worry about it!"
Calvin nodded uncertain whether to listen to his heart and worry, or listen to Donovan and not worry. Nevertheless, it was to remain on his mind for days to come.
The library, luckily, was not very far from the park. It was approximately three stories high, and, like all the other buildings on the campus, made from white cinder blocks.
"Even the library looks like a prison house." Calvin sighed.
"It's school, what were you expecting?"
"I...I don't know."
Donovan laughed, and they climbed the white steps to the entrance where an arched sign read "The University of Karpinopolis Library IV" and through the revolving doors. This time, Calvin did not get dizzy; but to his surprise, the library on the University of Karpinopolis Library IV looked almost exactly the same as the Karpinopolis Public Library III.
A large indoor waterfall crashed quietly from the top floor to the bottom of an open area where bean bags were scattered across a large red carpet. Books lined the shelves that ran in organized lines across all floors, a sight that brought back strange memories of reading the entire "The Bubbles" series in one sitting.
"If you're wondering why this looks the same as the other library," Donovan began, "it's because they're both---actually, all five major Karpinopolis libraries---are designed by the same architect."
"Oh?"
"And he wanted to make a statement that no matter where you are, you can and should read. That's why he made all five basically carbon-copies of each other."
"Ah."
Immediately, Donovan saw an unoccupied research computer and pointed Calvin towards it. He typed in "Ed Bubbles," but the basically the same results from the last book came out."
"Shit." Calvin scoffed, scrolling in hopes of finding something other than "The Bubbles" series by Edwardo Serrano.
"When is this book supposed to be made?" Donovan asked. "What if it hasn't been written?"
"Mi---My boss was very certain that it had already been written by 2031, that's why I'm here now."
"Ah, what if it's in the publishing process? I know that takes a very fucking long time. Ai Di's book took like six months or something like that to publish. Well, her literary agent's sketchy as fuck, but maybe it hasn't been printed yet."
"Maybe..."
"Or...it's a webnovel."
"A...what?"
"A webnovel! Like, a book that's written online."
"Um...Perhaps...?"
"Well, it would've still shown up online," Donovan sighed. "Well, let's head back to the apartment, this doesn't seem to help very much."
"I...guess..." And with that, they left.

"So where is he?" Why is he being all concerned about Matt all of a sudden, why was he even asking me about him, why was he even talking to me?

"Shouldn't you be with Tess or something, you don't want to become an outcast just because you're caught talking to me right?" my mouth blurted before my brain could catch up, that was the most I've ever said to anyone. 

"Of course that'll never happen, almost everyone has left school already, I was waiting for Tess to be done in the library so I decided to pick on you," 

"Oh really?"

"Yeah."

"So why don't you go screw your Tess then, I'm off," I snapped and marched towards my bike. I jumped when he appeared beside me again.

"I actually came to you because I need your help," I stopped abruptly.

"Mark Stoner, most popular kid in Eastwood high suddenly needs the school outcast's help?" I blinked hard, this had to be a dream.

"I'm not a kid okay? And don't feel too big I asked for your help," wait was he serious? Did he really need my help or he was just messing with me all over again?, I decided on the latter and hopped onto my scooter.

"Wait, you're not leaving me here, you have to help me," I stared at his frantic expression, he really needed my help, but why me? I mean, he barely even notices my existence or maybe it was because I was the only one left in the whole school?

"Fine, It has to be really important to have you risk your popularity and talk to me in public," he nodded indifferently and I suddenly noticed I wasn't tongue tied anymore, in fact I was actually having a civil conversation with a normal person without one-worded replies or stutters and that too my crush….woah, is that supposed to be a good or a bad thing?

"Tess has been in the library since lunch hour," He started, snapping me out of my daze.

Okay….

"I haven't laid my eyes on her since then," Why was he telling me that, did I seem like a cop or security guard to him?

"Okaaaaaay…." I prompted when he paused for more than a minute with an expression that I couldn't decipher.

"So I want you to check out the reason she's still in there," really, like that was the help he went through the trouble of talking to a mute aka me for?

"And why can't you do that yourself?" Security got the better of me, I just had to ask.

"Well that's none of your business, just go and check the library out already," he snapped and I raised a brow, does he think he can order me around so easily?, I don't think so.

"That's no way to ask a favour politely, if you don't mind, I'd like to be on my way," I secured on my helmet and turned on ignition to my scooter. I was about to zoom away but he grabbed my hand, like our skins came in contact, I experienced this giddiness that I've never felt before.

"I can't be seen anywhere close to the library, the populars are not supposed to….you know read books or even worse go to the library, it'll be an instant ticket to outcast land," oh, really? Why were they attending school if they weren't going to learn then? And why was I pondering over it like it was any of my business?

"But you're their boss, you make the rules so you can as well break them, I'm really sorry but I can't help, if Tess is important as you make her out to be, then you wouldn't care about your very weird rules, see you in school tomorrow Stoner." Okay, that officially takes the medal for the most words I've said in a sentence, and it felt good, really good.

I zoomed away before the egoistic loverboy had the chance to recover from it's shock.

 I stopped over at a proper library to borrow actual books for a change, I've been reading a lot of ebooks with my free time which was like every hour apart from school and my part time job at a diner three blocks away from 'home', sorry you're just getting to know that I have a job, I kind of rushed the introduction earlier. 

 So I'm officially informing you that I have a waitress job at a family owned diner, I work there all the days of the week excluding Mondays and Thursdays so today was my off, that was why I borrowed books earlier on why way home, with hopes it was going to be good books. 

 After getting to an empty house and warming up a proper meal for lunch-slash-dinner, I washed up the day's stress and unusual happenings and settled down to take a look at my PC. I didn't have a phone, as far as I was concerned I needed a phone for absolutely nothing. Parents and work can call the house line if they needed to get in touch which was next to never and I didn't have friends, not in real life, not online either, I didn't even have a Facebook account, pretty over the top but I'm contented with online reading apps that are strictly for reading and nothing else.

 After reading through updates of my favorite ongoing novels with 'awww's and 'ewww's, I settled down with one of the paperbacks I borrowed from the library, it was an ancient version of Charles Dickens' Olivier Twist. After a while, I slept off with my head on my desk, face buried in the book and earphones plugged in my ears.


 

All is not what it seems," I whispered with my fingers crossed and everything changed, literally everything....
