Barbatos was known as the Necromancer of Chaos, but that wasn't all there was to her. Noah looked through the memories of the Undead Skeleton Warrior as he watched the habits that Barbatos kept for years.
When she was angry, playful, or even hopeful, she only had her undead to talk to. She expressed to their lifeless company her inner thoughts, and Noah was going through them right now as he began getting a better understanding of Barbatos. He was certain of one thing as he watched her crazy life, and that was her hatred towards the one person that she could not defy.
He was confident in using this against her, and possibly getting out of this predicament with many more victories than just a few Mythical skills. The period of silence was broken as a light laugh escaped Barbatos's lips.
"You've been saying a great deal of many things, Atlantean. Do you truly know the power Baal wields for you to speak such words?"
The Blue Dragon encasing Noah began disappearing as he deactivated the skills, his Atlantean body with a slight gold sheen appearing magnificently in the dark waters again as he stared at Barbatos calmly. He would act instantly if he saw any changes to defend himself, but he could already see the finish line.
"Naturally. I know the Unique and Ultimate Skills he holds as well as how to counter them. If I add you to the mix, my mission will become even easier. I have many more secrets I can share with you if you want to come to an agreement first."
An impassive look remained on the cold face of Barbatos as she pondering looked toward this Atlantean. The next words he voiced out sealed the nail of her now indecisive mindset.
"Oh, and if you're worried about the fact that if you kill him he would just be revived by the Will of the Demon World in a few months, you can comfortably leave that to me. I have many tools that would make it so he never has the chance to revive."
The eyes of the Demon Empress widened at these words as a sense of apprehension and caution grew. The being in front of her knew too much information to be a nobody, and even the biggest secrets that pertained to the powers of Rulers of the Demon World were known to him. His words that she looked at unbelievably before were gaining a sense of credibility in her mind. 
She thought about the command from Baal that she couldn't defy to come to the Lost World and help him on this search for a treasure he would pocket himself. She thought of her dream of freedom as she created her World of the Dead that was always cut short because commands like these as she took a leap of faith.
"Alright, little fish. How do you want to start?"
A brilliant smile spread across Noah's face as he tried to keep his emotions down and replied.
"I know a lot about you, and I know you still don't fully trust me. So how about you use Abyss Magic to bind us both to a contract for the duration of our cooperation?"
"Hoo. Little fish, you really do know too much."
Barbatos's body began shining red as a golden page and a blood-red pen appeared in the water. Her powerful essence entered the pen as it moved on the surface of the page and carved out a few words. The process finished fairly quickly as the page and pen flew toward Noah's position.
He looked at the page that Barbatos wrote on and became surprised at the demands she listed on the contract that was created using Abyss Magic. This was one of the abilities that Rulers ranked 10 and below could use, a contract ritual that bound two beings. The two parties would choose their terms and restrictions before the contract could be established. 
There was only one condition and restriction that Barbatos wrote of the golden page.
[The little fish will erase Baal's life in two months.]
[If the condition isn't met, he forfeits his life.]
The condition was fine, but the restriction was not. Noah's face became cloudly as he used his essence to push the golden page and pen back. 
"The restriction involving my life is too big. I won't ask for your life, you do not ask for mine."
A cold aura spread out as it looked like Barbatos would soon explode with power yet again, but Noah remained firm. She looked at him coldly while putting more essence into the pen and rewriting the restriction. The golden page came back as Noah read it once more.

[If the condition isn't met, he will lose his manhood and never again be able to copulate.]
The restriction wasn't as extreme as the first one, but it was terrifying to think about. Noah nodded his head as he put his own mana into the pen and wrote his own conditions and restrictions.
[Barbatos will aid Noah Osmont the two months before Baal's True Death. Barbatos will not lay claim to or destroy Noah Osmont's belongings.]
[If the condition isn't met, she will release the souls of all the undead she has collected.]
Her face scrunched up as she red the restriction and looked dangerously at Noah, but she folded the golden page nonetheless and then performed the final portion of the Abyss Magic to finalize the contract. A golden light shone out as the folded page broke into two pieces, one staying with Barbatos and the other going towards Noah.
He caught the half-page in his hands as he brought it close to his mouth and observed Barbatos doing the same. The both of them then swallowed the pages as a red light covered both of their bodies briefly, and the contract was complete.
"Wow, I really didn't think you would do it. This means you aren't actually full of shit and can actually take down that monster? "
Noah let out a breath of relief as soon as the contract was finished, finally coming to the conclusion that his life was not in any more danger. For the duration of this contract, until he achieved his original goal of taking down Baal as he already planned, he would also have the peak Phantasmal ranked Barbatos to help him.
This was one of the traits of demons that he loathed, the fact that they would betray their own people the moment it was to their benefit and granted them what they wanted. He calmly looked at the figure of Barbatos that neared him and floated just a few inches away, her abyssal eyes looking at every part of his body.
"Alright, I don't give a shit if you really are a member of the Celestials or not, or how you know so much information. Now that you've signed that contract, either Baal dies, or you lose your dick. If Baal doesn't die, you'll still lose your dick, but I'll just kill you right after as well. If everything goes wrong then he will just kill me for my betrayal once or twice before he believes I'm reigned in again, so I won't really lose much, ya know?"
Her voice had become playful again as the cold and disastrous power she let out had all but disappeared. The blinking green lights of hundreds of thousands of undead were still surrounding all the miles of the sea around them as two completely opposite beings entered into a contract that would have colossal consequences across worlds.
Noah looked at this dangerous individual that would have caused his death if he hadn't found a solution as he did, and began planning how to move with her in the picture. How do you best put to use a Phantasmal ranked individual who surrounded herself with the undead as her only company and was a little crazy and messed up in the head? 
"Well, little fish, I will aid you up until we put your shitty words to the test in a few weeks. What do you want to do first?"

The book was unlike anything he had ever come across before. Though, admittedly, it wasn't like he had many references to base his knowledge off.
The words written in the book were unreadable and unknown to him. Though the script used was the same, it was not something that he was able to decipher.
Alec squinted. Why was it that Main Characters were always able to read whatever they got their hands on? Oh, right. Because they were the Main Character. Unfortunately for him, Alec was just a poor System on a punishment mission.
The closer Alec studied it, the more he was unsure whether or not it was even in the same language as what he was currently using right now. Though the Mainframe did indeed provide him with the language skills in his 'main' language so to speak, that did not mean that its courtesy extended to the other languages that were potentially in this world.
Alec's curious soul was on fire. Oh, how he longed to read what was inside the book.
Was it a diary? Or was it record of some long-lost information that no one had put their eyes on for centuries? He didn't know, but Alec was dying to find out.
Alec eyed the words balefully. He had a faint feeling that it wasn't so much as a different language, but rather, the fact that their language had evolved over the years, rendering this book unreadable to him.
Alec took the chance to curse the Mainframe yet again. If this really was the same language, then wasn't it being too stingy!
Whatever. He didn't believe he couldn't decipher it himself. He had another five or so days before he had to head back.
Ignoring everything else, Alec lost himself in the world of the book before him.
There were certain words he could make out more than the others, which hadn't changed much, apparently, but there were also words where he was completely lost.
He had no idea how much time passed before he first got even a semblance of what was written down in such beautifully cursive script. 
Alec was enraptured. There was no other way to describe it. The words flowed so beautifully on paper that it didn't feel like they were using the same language at all. Even the author's script looked more elegant and imposing as compared to what he was used to.
Eventually, Alec was able to make out various broken words from the flowing script. He squinted. "… Activation isn't… a lot… potential? Things… many…"
The longer he worked on it, the more fluent he seemed to get. Various words that previously eluded him locked into place and started making sense. Though majority of the book was lost to him for now, he was able to glean a number of things from it.
First of all, this wasn't the only book. There were a series of books from the series, and this was the last one. Alec was able to make out that all the books should have been here, but the only one he was able to find was this one.
Alec searched through the backpack again and confirmed that there was indeed nothing else that had been hidden inside.
He frowned.
He reread that little passage in the beginning that spoke about the other books before pausing. He flipped to the next page, realizing that there was a strange empty page on the back of it where the other pages were completely filled.
Alec brushed a finger down the empty page, his magic ever so gently running across the page in a sudden urge to Awaken it. Not the book as a whole, but that one single page.
His magic sank into the page, where a series of strange markings appeared. Shocked, Alec stared at it blankly when his face was abruptly impacted.
Literally smacked in the face with three books, Alec topped over, falling onto the ground. He stared at the cave's ceiling with a stunned look on his face as his mind comprehended what just happened.
That was… quite literally a smack in the face.
Alec snorted.
Okay, that was actually pretty funny, for some strange reason. It tickled at Alec's sense of humour.
Sitting back up, he gathered the other three books that had been abruptly ejected straight into his face, looking at the covers. Unlike the book that had been exposed to the various elements of time, these three books looked fresh and almost brand new, like they had been held in stasis.
Alec raised a brow, but stopped for the time being, changing the dressing of his wounds. He could already see a bit of blood that had seeped through the dressing.
He didn't bat an eyelid when some of the cuts started bleeding again.
When he looked at the three books, the titles on the covers gave insight into what was inside.
The book he was holding, 'Activation', along with 'Offens' 'Defens' and 'Augmentation'.
Obviously, Awakening, Offensive, Defensive and Supportive Magitypes, though they were called something else in the olden days.
Alec wondered just how long Societypes and Magitypes had been around. Surely there had been a time when society had not segregated everyone into the various different classes.
However much he wanted to sneak a peek into those books, his curiosity was drawn to the strange markings that had appeared on the previously blank page.
How was that possible? Was he able to do that as well?
As he flipped through the now familiar pages, he realized that there were now illustrations where previously there were only words.
"R…unia," Alec pronounced.
It clicked. "Runes!"
Alec sucked in a shocked breath. Runes. It was a rare, highly sought-after path that not many were able to pursue. One, because of wealth, and two because of knowledge.
Much of the knowledge they still retained was not complete, and though there were many examples of spatial items that would allow one to store things, everything that could do so was rare and exorbitantly expensive.
Why did Alec know about this, you might ask?
That was because Alec suspected that his mother was actually a Rune Master. Though she had not come out and flaunt it, there was a room that had been labelled off limits to him, which was the room where she sometimes went in for hours on end before emerging, looking tired but satisfied.
During those times, she smelt of ink and fire, piquing Alec's interest. He tried to look up the things his mother might be doing, and eventually ended up coming across a very vague book talking about runes.
A lot of the runic knowledge had been lost to the different eras, and even now, when they had various informative pieces about how to craft certain things, they were still unable to obtain optimal results.
For example, the lost knowledge of spatial runes. The Neil Clan compound hadn't expanded for a long time mainly because of the lost knowledge of spatial runes. No one was able to produce something that acted in the same way.
Why was it that that specific set of runes were able to produce the result of creating a spatial array? Why was it then when they copied the runes, they were unable to produce the same result?
No one could figure out the answer.
But now, Alec had his hand on the knowledge. It was because it required an Awakener to do it!
He sucked in a breath. There were more options and capabilities to this Magitype than he thought!
Why was it that over the years, such knowledge had been lost? Why were Awakeners treated as lower than dirt, who were useless?
Instantly, Alec's curiosity about runes started burning, but the book talked about various other things, totally unrelated to what he currently wanted to know.
Alec absently traced the same runes onto his upper thigh as he studied it, not realizing that some of the fresh blood that had been left on his fingertips when he changed his wound dressings made a faint trace along his skin.
He paused, looking at his leg. Just as he was about to wipe it off, a thought flashed into his mind. What would happen if he Awakened this rune right now? Would he be able to have a space on him at all times?
Without giving it a second thought, he pushed some magic into it.
The pain that assaulted him was worse than when he messed up his hand from the fall.
Oh, fuck! Alec thought to himself that had been a phenomenally stupid decision on his part. What had he been thinking? Oh, that's right. He hadn't been.
He passed out.

"Who are you?" 

The girl in front of him hurriedly looked through her small sling bag.

"Hey, didn't you hear what I said?"

"..."

"What the hell."

She then took out a small notebook from her bag and flipped to the first page. Giving a small grin, she pointed to the words and politely bowed to him. On the page, the words 'My name is Lin Fei Hong' were written and many meticulously drawn small little birds filled the paper. 

"Fei Hong? Isn't that a name usually used for boys?"

The girl flipped to page 34 of her notebook and showed it to him. 

'My parents wanted me to be strong and hoped that I would do well in the future.' The girl then flexed her arm to indicate strength. Afterwards, flipping back to the first few pages to continue her introduction. 

"Pfft! As if you have any muscles!" The boy laughed loudly and wiped his tears. She pouted and kicked his legs.

'I like ducks and I love to eat meat.'
 
'I'm born on 23 May and I prefer chocolate cake.'

'I like to draw.'

Each one of her words was surrounded by brightly coloured drawings of cakes, ducks and paintbrushes. The boy who sat under the large peachtree with her slowly read each word one by one as he bit into a ripe peach. 

"Aha. But that doesh not explain why you are here." He spoke to her with his mouth full of peach, as a result, bits and pieces of the peach splattered out of his mouth. She gave him a disgusted look and took out a piece of tissue and hand sanitizer for him. He scoffed and said, "It's just food, what's the big deal?"

"Anyways, you still haven't said why you are here?"

She looked at him for a moment before taking a pen from the side pocket of her sling bag. After scribbling on a clean page for a minute, she passed the notebook to him. 

On the page, written in her childish handwriting, were the words 'hi husband'. Not only that, many hearts were quickly doodled on the page using a bright pink pen. The girl looked at his expression for a moment before giving a bright big smile. 

"Ha?!"  

And that was how 8-year-old Yu Xia Rui met 8-year-old Lin Fei Hong.

“Hey, what do we do now?”

The girl took out her notebook and hurriedly flipped to a new page to scribble. Bored to death, he leaned against the tree trunk and closed his eyes. After a while, she slapped his arm roughly. 

“Ouch! What was that for?!”

She pointed to the notebook and showed him a roughly drawn stickman in bed. However, most attention-grabbing was the bright red moustache on the stickman’s face. She then pointed to a room in the left-wing of the school. Snickering, he flicked her forehead. 

“Weren’t you the good kid? What happens if I accidentally burn something that might not be his moustache?” He looked at her and laughed.

Hesitating for a while, she flipped a page and quickly wrote the words ‘I can handle it’. She then patted her chest firmly and nodded at him. 

“I guess that’s the good thing about you having a water element. Don’t you think we are a good match?” He playfully grinned at her. 

She looked at him for a moment and scoffed. 

But her cheeks were bright red.

After thinking this way, Jiang Hao finally made his first decision.

John's mind felt enraptured by these words, and he read them several times over before glancing down to the next section of the page. He had read this page before when he was in the Dreadel Kingdom, but had come to the conclusion that he was too weak to study it back then. Now that he was in the Qi Condensation Realm, John wanted to see if he could start using the battle art.

He knew the immensely powerful Supreme Battle Art for his body cultivation, but had no grand essence attacks. 


"The Myriad Annihilation Scythe had been a good technique to use in the Mist Creation Realm, but now that I'm in the Qi Condensation Realm, I'll need a new powerful ranged attack."

He continued to study the page.

"This page describes how the creator saw the essence of the scythe, and it uses those comprehensions to unleash a powerful battle art. However, this page only contains the first three steps, or stages, of the technique, and the rest is incomplete...but that should be more than enough for now."

John continued to read the familiar page, and his fingers traced each word as he read. He fell into a trance, and before he knew it, several hours had passed.

"Each step describes incredibly complex meridian and acupoint pathways for my Qi. I first need to use my comprehensions to convert my essence Qi into scythe Qi, at which point I follow the pathways throughout my body to unleash the technique. From what I can tell, the technique focuses on sharpness and speed, as the creator saw the scythe as the ultimate life reaping weapon."

He slowly but surely felt his scythe comprehensions improve as he studied the page for many hours.

Qi contained the myriad of universal laws within them, and cultivators had to use their comprehensions to isolate and refine the specific Qi they were looking for, at which point they would use that Qi in attacks. The more refined and pure the isolated Qi was, the more powerful the attacks would be.

With the many days of studying the technique in the Dreadel Kingdom, as well as today, John felt that his scythe comprehensions and understanding of the technique had reached a level that he could attempt to use the first attack.

"I can't unleash this technique indoors. Since Elder Ragur isn't back yet, I should head outside and look for a place to train this technique. He said as long as I stayed within the Enforcement Hall grounds, I should be fine."

John stood up and stretched his aching legs, as he had been sitting for many hours. He walked out of his room, before quickly leaving the building as well. The dozens of Enforcement Hall buildings stretched into the distance, and John walked until he found a wide open expanse of land between the buildings to practice his technique. Although many Elder and Disciples were seen walking about in the distance, this particular area seemed to be devoid of foot traffic, making it a good place to practice.


"This spot should do nicely."

A pitch black scythe appeared in John's hands, and he calmed his mind as he thought about unleashing the technique. Essence Qi began to build up within his dantian, and John did his best to isolate and refine it into scythe Qi.

He focused on this process for several hours, making sure to isolate and refine pure enough scythe Qi before attempting the technique.

"This technique has a very pure scythe Qi requirement to even attempt to unleash, otherwise it will fail and potentially harm me."

Many people of the Enforcement Halls had walked by, and had noticed the unknown newcomer stand there in complete silence for several hours. Since he had not made any external attacks yet, the disciples of the sect who had walked by had no idea what he was doing.

A small group of three male and two female disciples had stopped for a moment to watch what John was doing. They appeared to be around John's age, and wore the signature grey robes of the enforcement hall.

They had walked by earlier in the day and noticed him standing there, but had paid him no mind. However, they had just walked by him again, and noticed he was standing in the exact same spot.

"Look at this kid, he's been standing there for nearly half a day and hasn't moved a single muscle," one of the male disciples commented.

"Maybe he's slow in the head, although he does seem quite interesting for some reason" one of the female disciples commented as she chuckled slightly. She had long brown hair tied up into a ponytail, and was quite attractive. Her thin nose was raised slightly in the air, as if he was used to looking down on others.


One of the male disciples frowned for a moment before speaking up as well. "You're right, he's probably slow in the head given that he's only in the early Qi Condensation Realm despite being our age. I'll go "help" him."

The two other male disciples rolled their eyes at the words they heard. They knew exactly of the scene to come, as they had seen it many times before.

One of the boys turned to the girl that had just spoken and spoke to her in a slightly annoyed tone.

"You just had to mention that he was interesting huh? You know how Roy feels about you, and what he does when you show interest in other boys."

The girl feigned ignorance at the boy's words. Her eyes turned back to the scene of Roy approaching the newcomer, and a slight smile appeared on her face.

John's eyes were still closed as he focused on refining his Qi into a scythe Qi pure enough to unleash the technique. He had been completing this process internally for many hours.

"Now!"

His eyes quickly opened in delight, and John quickly raised his scythe before slashing it down with all his might. An incredibly sharp black and red scythe Qi gathered on his scythe's blade for a moment before flying outwards extremely quickly.

A sharp sound pierced the ears of all those nearby, and many of the nearby juniors felt their bodies tremble slightly as they stared at the Qi attack.

John's face lit up in delight as he watched the attack fly out rapidly. It was even sharper and faster than he imagined, and he was overjoyed with the result of his first attempt.

However, his delight quickly turned to shock as he watched the attack fly head on towards a boy walking directly towards him.

"Watch out!"

John called out loudly. He had been so focused in refining Qi and unleashing the attack, that he had failed to observe his surroundings. He had chosen this spot for how isolated it was, and no one had approached him all day, so John assumed it would  be safe to unleash an attack as such.


Roy had been casually approaching John, when all of a sudden an attack was heading straight towards him. He was surprised that the newcomer would suddenly attack out at him, but was unconcerned given the weaker cultivation of the boy.

However, Roy's eyes quickly became grim as he noticed the attack made him feel a slight sense of danger, which completely shocked him.

Roy quickly unleashed a profound movement technique, and just barely managed to dodge the attack, which grazed his robe and sliced off a small section on his sleeve. The Qi attack sailed downwards into the ground below, and quickly burrowed into the ground.

Both Roy and John stared in shock at the attack that cleanly cleaved an extremely thin but deep line into the earth for nearly one hundred yards before it finally dissipated.

Roy breathed out a sigh of relief, before turning to John and staring at him with cold eyes.

"You dare to attack me? If I don't break a few bones in your body, you'll be getting off lightly."

Zhao Luo was still thinking about the words written on that thick page of the book that the old man had passed to him. 
'Heaven's tomb'
He was considered Heaven as an individual and the book as the resting place for that individual.
Some may think 'how can some individual be resting in a book?'
Imagine being buried in a book after your death. 

The answer is simple.
'The resting place does not have to be taken as the body's resting place instead it could be that individual's skills, thoughts, or knowledge which were buried in the book.'

This was what Zhao Luo was doing right now. Thinking without a stop. Weird ideas were popping up in his head and even weirder was how he defined the book as some individuals stuff, instead of just flipping to the next page. 

His basic idea was wrong. 

In the world of old man, the word 'heaven' had different meanings. 

Zhao Luo couldn't even start to guess them now as he was someone who had no idea what kind of World the old man was from. 

The old man knew that too. He was still looking at his disciple. The thing which the old man was seeing was completely different from what Zhao Luo was going through.

In the vision of the old man, Zhao Luo was lost in those words. He thought that his disciple was so focused on the words because of the majestic aura that they had and the profoundness they contained. The old man didn't consider it as a bad thing but his student was taking an unusual amount of time.

The actual reality was odd, so odd that no one could relate to what Zhao Luo was going through at the moment. 

Zhao Luo was still looking at those words. It was true that they were written in a style that was impossible to find in his world. That was the first reason which caused him to stare at those words for so long. 

Second, the aura of those words, or as Zhao Luo considered them, the shine from those words was not something that Zhao Luo was familiar with. He thought of many things starting from laser to 3D radiant and so on yet he couldn't match anything to the cause of this shine.

Third, the way these two words were inscribed on the thick page of the book was also one of the things that he wasn't familiar with.

These three things made him think that this book was special. Special and not from his world. For him the position of this book was rising, even though it hadn't reached the elevation that some other 'book note' had in his mind.

Now Zhao Luo slowly pulled himself out from the intense immersion. He looked at the old man and made a gesture which clearly said,
'I have used all of my brain cells. Please explain about this.'
He looked at the book in his hand.

"Hahaha"
The old man laughed. Before he was waiting for his disciple as he was focused on the book so intensely. Now that disciple after looking at the Heaven's Tomb for so long only had questions regarding the thick page of that book for the old man.
"This book is my seventh most treasured possession. Among the million books that my collection holds, this one alone holds more value than all of them."
The old man started telling about the book which was in the hand of Zhao Luo. Zhao Luo was shocked after hearing the value of the book. The old man felt satisfied after seeing the shock on his disciple's face. As this was the same that the old man once made when he got the book.
"This book is the remnant of an ancient civilization which was supposedly living in heavens or as that civilization called it, Athens." 
The old man was on the 'Origin of the book' part and Zhao Luo was immersed in his story.
"Athens, a place which was considered as the heavens of my world. It was ruled by 7 Emperas. Each one was so powerful that even I don't compare to them. They all compared their martial knowledge into one book. But one day a catastrophe had hit Athens and their so called heavens was razed in a single night."
The old man had eyes which were trying to remember the greatness of that place and the beings who ruled it.
Zhao Luo could feel the sadness in his master's eyes.
"After it's destruction, only some ruins were left. Many people went there in order to investigate the ruins in hopes of finding some unparallel treasure. But none had the luck of this old man."
The old man showed his white teeth to Zhao Luo in this dark kind space.
"This is the story of this book, Heavens tomb"
The old man went on and on about how he got the book and where it was from. But he still hadn't answered the question which Zhao Luo had.

Waking up in an unfamiliar world, Zhao Luo realized the changes in his body.

In this distorted world, the lands that Zhao Luo once knew of, have changed into mountain ranges and every range has a Sect while the sect leader has all the power and control over the surrounding mountains.
