With a shield on his back, Don nocked the arrow on his bowstring as the bow's runes started to glitter.
"Boom"
The loud booming sound of the arjuna bow was heard again as the werewolves startled to see one of their companion's heads explode.
The count had become forty-nine as the werewolves quickly formed groups. One ground was running towards him with lightning speed as one group kept its distance and fired spikes made of life energy at him.
The third group of the werewolves started to dig into the ground and buried themselves. Everyone expected him to kill the werewolves that were running towards him but he evaded them and fired arrows at the werewolves that were casting spells.
Every time the loud boom sounds, the count would decrease and a werewolf's head would explode. While he was evading the werewolves trying to attack him in close range, a couple of werewolves suddenly jumped out of the ground beneath him. The shield on his back blocked the attack of the werewolves that appeared at the right time and saved him from the gorilla attackers.
Don realized the danger of standing on the ground as he hurriedly used the arrows in the wall as steps and rained arrows from above.
When Audrey first saw him, he was barely surviving the battle with the centipedes and didn't look very skilled but now, the way he moved, his aim, and everything showed his battle prowess and superior talent.
"Look likes he's better than your friend, Chase"
It was no surprise that the prodigies like Amara and Rosaline didn't like each other and since Chase was a friend with Rosaline, Amara used this opportunity to ridicule her.
Rosaline didn't reply to Amara as she was thinking about where Chase could have gone without taking part in the arena.
"Did he drink a monkey potion or something?"
Rodrigo saw Don leaping from wall to wall using the arrows as support.
"Look at him"
The girls shouted in envy when they saw Don running on the wall and almost standing upside down on the ceiling and firing arrows at the werewolves.
The werewolves destroyed all the arrows in the wall to prevent him from running and leaping like a monkey as some werewolves mimicked his movements and started to run on the walls.
There were blood and guts everywhere in the arena and the blood splatters on the wall made running on the wall tricky and hard. The count had become thirty as twenty werewolves already lost their lives to his arrows.
But that didn't stop him from stepping on the werewolves' heads and use them to move around and stay away from the gorilla attackers who were hiding under the ground.
"Gurr"
The werewolves who got stepped on by Don growled as Don killed the last spell caster werewolf by sending an arrow through its eye.
"Ouch"
The tigress said when she saw one werewolf land a hit on him and throw him off from balance.
The moment he landed on the ground, the gorilla attackers emerged from the ground and started to attack him with their sharp claws. The hit he just received almost took a huge chunk of flesh from his arm and left a nasty cut on his arm.
The gorilla attackers overwhelmed him by their superior number and didn't give him time to use his bow.
"He's finished"
The crowd saw the werewolves surrounding him and preventing him from using the bow.
While he was dodging and evading their attacks, the shield vibrated on his back. Just after it vibrated, the shield circled Don and cut the werewolves surrounding him.
"I want that shield"
Everyone who witnessed the shield saving him from the tight situation, they looked at it with sparkling eyes as even Audrey and Rosaline were surprised at the shield.
Looking at the deep cuts on their bodies, the werewolves didn't try to get too close to him again as the shield did not come back to his back but floated in the air before him.
He guessed what the shield wanted him to do and jumped onto the shield.
Even though the shield looked lighter, it held Don's body as it took him a few seconds to balance himself.
He ordered the shield to fly forward in his mind as the shield soared through the air.
"Wow, slow down"
He said as the shield flew too fast for a space like this arena.
"It can be used to fly too?"
The shield appeared to be too overpowered for the youths as Arrora wondered that her shield could do these cool things too.
"He's always a lucky bastard"
Knight silently said with a smile and looked for the people who might try to take the shield from him when he returned from the arena.
Many of the youths had greed in their eyes but none of them would have the guts to fight for him except Amara and the crown prince of the star empire as they had powerful backing. At the moment they didn't seem like they would fight for the shield but Knight decided to keep an eye on them in case they tried anything funny.
With the flying shield beneath him, Don got back into the killing as he fired arrows in lightning fast. The werewolves count decreased to fifteen as only five werewolves remained on the ground while ten remained in the ground.
The five werewolves were fast but the shield was faster and it took him only a few moments to kill all the five werewolves.
"I think he's going to complete this wave"
"You think? Look at him, the werewolves in the ground have no way of reaching him, it's only a matter of time before he kills them too"
After seeing his skills, no one raised a voice against this youth's statement.
"Your royal highness, are you alright?"
Philea noticed Audrey's troubled face.
"I'm fine, it's just that I need to have a long talk with the teacher and my so-called advisors when I return"
Audrey ordered her advisors to notify her about the prodigies and talents like him on the continent but no one had told her about this archer.
She didn't get to her level by only depending on her teacher and her family but learning from other prodigies as well as adventuring through the empire to get more battle experience. At the moment, Don was firing arrows at the ground to force the werewolves in the ground out, yet, no matter how many arrows he fired, the werewolves didn't come out.
"Alright, let's do this the hard way"
Don put the bow on his back and decided to use the earth bending to flush out the werewolves.
Magical fluctuations around him spiked as he raised his arms pointing at the ground beneath him. Everyone standing outside noticed the arena's ground shake and after a few seconds, ten hands made of mud emerged from the ground.
"Is that?"
When they looked closer at the hands that just appeared, they saw each hand was holding a werewolf while they struggled to free themselves from the hand.
The hands moved themselves to form a line as Don turned the werewolves into target practice dummies. He didn't let the werewolves struggle for long, he swiftly fired arrow after arrow through their heads and killed the werewolves in a few seconds.
Even though Don made killing them look easy, with their suppressed cultivation level, no one could have killed the werewolves if they were in his shoes except Knight and Audrey had much less chance of beating them than Knight.
Some of the youths cheered and clapped after Don finished the wave as Prodigies of both empires looked a little gloomy. The familiar black lightning bolt landed before him and left the reward for beating the wave.
To be honest, the youths looking from outside seemed more excited to see what he got. He looked won to see a shiny black arrow lying on the ground. The arrow was etched with runes and symbols as he picked up the arrow from the ground but he was surprised at the weight of the arrow.
He felt like he's holding a huge boulder in his hand as the symbols started to glow. The symbols floated out from the bow and flew into his mind.
Don closed his eyes while the symbols turned into words and etched into his mind.
The symbols were instructions on how to use the arrow and a spell to cast to unleash its power. When he opened his eyes, there were no symbols or runes on the arrow as he realized that without the spell he had just learned and the symbols etched into his mind, no one could use this arrow and even if they did, they wouldn't be able to unleash its full power.
"The destroyer"
Don said looking at the arrow before putting it into his space ring.

1) Werewolves :
Werewolves are shapeshifters that can transform from humans into wolves. They have a superpower and high speed, high Senses that allowed them to see, hear, smell, and taste better than any other normal human being. There are many types of werewolves such as:
Lycans
Pack werewolves
Cursed werewolves
Elemental werewolves
Rogues
And more...
The thing is that I won't be covering all the types of werewolves, I'm only going to mention the two types I'll need in my book which are the cursed werewolves and the pack werewolves. Let's start first with the cursed werewolves.
The cursed werewolves: Are the werewolves that shift for the first time only after activating the werewolf curse. The cursed werewolves might live their entire life as humans if they never activate their curse, which ended up activated only if the cursed werewolf death the death of any living creature.
Unlike the pack werewolves, the cursed werewolves live individually. Still, they all share the same curse which is turning into wolves whenever it's a full moon. Unlike other types of werewolves, shifting is always painful for cursed werewolves, and the pain of shifting doesn't reduce even after shifting for many times. Also, cursed werewolves lose all sort of control over themselves once it's a full moon which caused them to be seen as dangerous creatures even among their own kind. This explains why they receive the same treatment as rogues once they're spotted by pack werewolves. 
It was said that the first line of cursed werewolves used to be humans, they were curse by one of the witch they were hunting. The witch cursed all those who were hunting her along with their line before they killed her. As they used wolf to hunt her, she cursed them to become the same creatures they used to hunt her - wolves.
They're not as strong neither big as the pack werewolves, yet they are uncontrollable and they possessed a strong weapon that makes vampires fear them more than all other types of werewolves.
A cursed werewolf bite is a killer bite for a vampire, the saliva of this specific type of werewolves is a venom that has no cure when it comes to vampires. Only true blood vampires can survive a cursed werewolf bite, yet it still caused them killer pain along with a trauma followed by illusions and some painful hallucinations.
The second type that will be mentioned are the pack werewolves.
The pack werewolves are the type of werewolves that lives in a pack, meaning they live alonge with a group of werewolves. They live under a a specific ranking made by their own alpha.
The alpha is the leader of the pack, he is the one maintaining the pack members and gathering them as a larg family. The decisions they make reflect the growth and welfare of the pack. Also, they're the one to maintain the pack's hunting territory. An alpha can be seen as a ruthless and heartless creature since he's the one maintaining control in he's pack. The alpha's mate is called a luna and she's equal to the alpha. There are other members in the pack, whom are:

Delta

Salutary

Sentinel

Elder

Hunters

Scouts

Guardians

Omegas and Pups

2) The mate bond :
In the werewolves world, mates are for life each and everyone has a mate ( a destined soulmate). A werewolf might find it mate when he turns 16 years old, if not it may take like forever. But whenever a werewolf finds its own mate, they fall instantly both in love. Rejecting your mate means rejecting your destiny, and as a result, it causes eternal misery to both males and females. A mate can be either werewolf or Lycan or a human. Accepting the mate pull can be only by :
First: Accepting mentally your mate.
Second: Marking your mate.
Only mates can mark each other by biting one another on the neck, The mark will keep the other werewolves away from the mates. Only werewolves are able to see the mark on a marked werewolf, humans can't see the mark.
Third: sealing the bond.
It happens only if they both fully mated (by having sex).
Missing one of these steps means that the mate bond is incomplete. But once the mate bond is complete, both of the mates become like one soul. They get to read each other's thoughts, feel the same feelings, and more. It also became impossible for them to live without each other.
One of them's death can cause the death of the other one, and if it's not it may cause eternal misery.

3) Vampires:
Vampires are immortal night creatures that feed on human blood. Since forever Vampires were known for subducting then hypnotizing their human victims before feeding on their blood. They can consume human's normal food, but still they need blood to feed on.
They have a superpower and high speed, high Senses that allowed them to see, hear, smell, and taste better than any other normal human being. Vampires are vulnerable against silver and sunlight, still, they have some sort of supernatural power that changes from a vampire to another, and they call these superpowers by gifts. Some of them can control water, others can control the wind, flames of fire, some of them even can control minds, or see upon future... The most wanted gift is the shield since this one can protect them from the sun cursed. These powers and abilities grow stronger with time, age, and the consumption of human blood.
Vampires can be two types, and you can separate between those two types by the color of the eye.
The first type of vampires is the one who feeds on human blood. Of course, they are the stronger type. They are defined by their eyes color, which is red.
The second type is the vegetarian vampires who subsist on animal blood rather than human.

4) Lycan-Vampire Hybrid :
Lycan-Vampire Hybrid is a mixture of a vampire and a Lycan. Hybrids possess the powers of both species, yet they don't have their weaknesses. Which makes the hybrid stronger than both species.

Within just two days, at least forty-five Werewolves had died. How many Werewolves were there in this forest?!
Just as Lin Ke was getting frustrated at the thought of it, a silhouette suddenly entered his vision.
It was Avina! Lin Ke hurriedly went to the entrance to greet her.
Avina leaped down from above, landed lightly on her feet, and proceeded to walk up to Lin Ke. "My Lord, I've finished scouting the surrounding area."
"Very good."
After Lin Ke and Avina went back into the Elemental Tower, he hurriedly asked, "How much did you learn about the Werewolf den?"
"Very bad news." Avina shook her head. "Just in the surrounding area, I've seen 3 different Werewolf dens. In every single one of them, there were at least 200 Werewolves."
"Impossible!"
Lin Ke instantly denied that fact. How could such a small area like this sustain this number of Werewolves?
There was bound to be a lack of prey.
"But that is the truth."
Avina waved her hand as she explained, "I understand why my Lord says this is impossible, but these Werewolves don't eat meat."
"What?"
Lin Ke looked at Avina in surprise, as if his brain had stopped processing data for a moment.
"Unfortunately, most of the time, all these Werewolves feed on different sorts of fungus. They even started a humic farm to produce large amounts of fungus for food.
"I've collected some of these fungi." Avina suddenly pulled out a grey mushroom. Under its thick mushroom cap was a fat mushroom stalk.
Avina ripped off a small piece of the mushroom and tossed it into her mouth. "This type of mushroom isn't poisonous and grows very easily. They have a fatty texture when eaten and each one has its own unique taste. For example, this one was mildly salty, as if it was filled with a certain amount of salt."
As Lin Ke saw Avina carefreely eating a piece of the mushroom, he also took a piece from her hand. Carefully placing it on his tongue, he slowly started to assess the taste of this mushroom.
A slightly fishy smell surged down his throat, but when he actually bit down on it, a sweet and salty taste started to envelop his taste buds. As he tore through the mushroom with his teeth, he could vaguely hear the sound of it screeching.
If eating it raw tasted this good, Lin Ke could not help but think about how it would taste if he cooked it in other ways.
"In other words, these Werewolves are all herbivores?"
Looking at the mushroom in Avina's hand, he fought his urge to just take it from her. Thinking about the fact that the Werewolves were herbivorous, he could not help but feel curious about it.

However, fungi doesn't seem too appropriate to feed an entire race though. If they really are relying on this as a means to survive, these Werewolves must not be voluntarily undergoing agriculturalization."
Maybe there were other more civilized races that came and taught these Werewolves to farm, but they just did not want to truly teach them. Hence, they were only taught how to grow fungus?
Could it be humans? Or maybe some other race? Maybe those Beastmen from the other day?
Thinking back, Dra did follow a Werewolf all the way back to a Beastmen encampment. There must be some way this was related.
Werewolves eating mushrooms… Now that was an interesting development.
Seeing Lin Ke deep in thought, Avina did not interrupt him. When he finally came to his senses, she finally said, "Due to this, the Werewolf population is growing rapidly. That's why there are so many Werewolf dens in this area. The key issue is that there doesn't seem to be any conflict between the Werewolves. In other words, the number of Werewolves that were planning on sieging this Elemental Tower was in the thousands.
With this number of enemies, it was like the floodgates were opened.
The number of Werewolves Dra could solo was limited. Even with Avina and Compassionate Priest Lucy lending her a hand, the number of Werewolves they could fend off would not increase by that much.
If so many Werewolves attacked at the same time, they would be in extreme danger.
Unless, they hid in the Tower and used the main entrance as a chokepoint. They might be able to defend from there.
However, if that was the plan, they had to have enough food and drinking water. For the Werewolves outside of their tower, they would barely have a problem with this war of attrition.
After all, their dens were nearby, it was easy for them to keep pumping resources to their troops.
"No, the number is too large."
Lin Ke shook his head. If they were to solely rely on the defenses of the Elemental Tower, the Werewolves would eventually break through. If all the Werewolves dealt a certain amount of damage to the Elemental Tower, they would start to chip away at the tower's defenses.
"Hence, we need to be the first to strike."
Lin Ke raised his head and looked at Avina. "Wait till Dra returns. Then, the three of you group up as a party and coordinate to exterminate one of the Werewolves dens. Deal as much damage to them as possible to reduce the possibility of getting assaulted by impossible numbers."
"Alright." Avina nodded. "Then, I'll go rest up first to recharge my energy."
"Yeah. you go rest."
Lin Ke nodded. Avina had been working all this time, it was about time for her to take a break.

The vampire hunters were thinking about how to get back at the werewolves who had killed an innocent little girl.

Their ancestors never made enemies with werewolves because the enemy is a vampire-human who has claimed the lives of the entire vampire hunter family.

On the other hand, Adrian, who was walking through the forest to find the werewolves. He was only accompanied by a few hunters.

Adrian did not realize that he had entered a trap set by the werewolves. He's been so clumsy today for taking werewolves lightly.

Several werewolves started stalking the four of them. When viewed from the number of them it is very unbalanced and defeat must be on Adrian's side.

All the hunters began to prepare with a sword made of silver. The werewolves began to show themselves, they could not bear to kill and eat fresh meat this afternoon.

The hunters started pointing their swords, they turned their backs to each other so that they could protect each other. The werewolves began to surround Adrian and his friends.

Adrian counts the number of werewolves in front of him. Their number was double the number.

"Damn it! We have entered their trap!" said Adrian irritatedly.

"How about this? Can we face the werewolves?" said a man whose hands began to tremble.

Adrian didn't answer the question, he just glared at the werewolves walking around him. By tightening its grip on a silver sword.

In his mind, he said that he would kill one by one the werewolves. Adrian will not let go of the werewolves who have dared to hunt down small children from his clan.

"You heard… they are just beasts that we usually hunt and kill! You shouldn't be afraid just by their howls and disgusting forms. We can't be defeated easily," said Adrian to make his friends feel confident about facing the werewolves.

What Adrian said could not get rid of the restlessness in their hearts. Because there are fewer of them than the werewolves.

One of the werewolves starts attacking Adrian, he starts casting his claws. However, Adrian was able to avoid the werewolf attacks.

They started to fight to protect themselves, the werewolves weren't as stupid as they thought. They divided into two groups, the first group attacked Adrian and the others first.

While the other group continues to watch its prey. They will not let any of their prey runs. Because for them the four human hunters have become targets for lunch.

Sergei Nazarova was a vampire who became a werewolf hunter after a vicious creature killed his precious lover. When the cold snowfall down in the forest in Northern Russia, he lost everything in his life. 

"Get rid and slaughtered all of those damned werewolves, now!" he ordered his people for all their capture of werewolves.

However, another hunter also hunted Sergei on his journey. Hence, these matters make him stumbled upon his goals to hunt them until he met a mysterious woman.

The woman changes his life a hundred eighty degrees. There is something special beyond her beautiful iris that makes Sergei falls in love with her, a secret that could make Sergei endangered his life.

Could Sergei defeat his biggest enemy, the lord of werewolves? Or should he choose the woman instead?

 

Nightmare of Death was a Thief, so by activating his Fleetfoot, he was able to nimbly disappear from the wall corner. Still, he was no match for Gu Fei's all-Agility build and movement speed that was further boosted by Windchaser's Boots. Gu Fei kept his fixed eyes on Nightmare of Death's back as he swiftly pursued the latter.
Nightmare of Death was very cunning and extremely crafty. Fleetfoot was not Stealth, and it had a limited duration, yet he managed to maintain his distance from Gu Fei through with this skill. But given Gu Fei's equipment and faster movement speed than Nightmare of Death's, it was only a matter of time before he caught up to the latter.
Logically speaking, Stealth could better hide a hunted from a hunter. The skill was practically useless against Gu Fei, though, based on their intel on him. What Thieves like Nightmare of Death did not know was that everything would be fine as long as they buried their heads in the ground like an ostrich and avoided looking at Gu Fei after activating Stealth….
Nightmare of Death was naturally not privy of such a solution, so when he saw Gu Fei ignoring everyone and solely chasing after him at a breakneck speed, he could only bemoan his fate inside.
Gu Fei closely followed Nightmare of Death from behind, aware that he would eventually catch up to the latter. Still, he kept in mind the possibility of Nightmare of Death using Stealth to hide among the mob of Werewolves.
What Gu Fei was unaware of was that Stealth could not be used near the Werewolves, as according to Nightmare of Death and his gang's study of this village layout and the Werewolves' programmed behavior, this sort of non-humanoid monsters possessed highly sensitive noses and keen ears just like real wolves. Although their other senses were not as powerful as their eyes' ability to perceive, the Werewolves were still able to detect anyone attempting to get close to them from several meters away. If this lot of Thieves used Stealth, the Werewolves would surely pounce on them when they got near the Werewolves, which was exactly what the other Thief in Nightmare of Death's team had forcefully done.
As such, Nightmare of Death did not dare to get near the Werewolves and decided to avoid monsters and evade Gu Fei altogether as best as he could. The death penalty for dying to monsters and players would equally result into the loss of level and even equipment.
Nightmare of Death was at his wits' end right now, so he quickly sent his comrades a message asking for their help. His brothers, who had scattered at the sight of Gu Fei beginning a massacre, quickly gathered in one place once they knew that he was solely chasing after Nightmare of Death. Naturally, they intended to counterattack even if Nightmare of Death did not prompt them to do so.
Although these players still held numerical superiority, they were not brave enough to surround Gu Fei. Nonetheless, they had learned a few things from that previous incident.
At a certain clearing in Suoyun Village, the players each chose a position with a viable escape route. They planned to use ranged attacks on Gu Fei, but if those failed, they would unhesitatingly flee for their lives. This way, Gu Fei would be forced to settle on chasing after only one of them.
Their arrangement was done very quickly. After discussing their plan thoroughly, they informed Nightmare of Death of the place's coordinates and of how he should enter it. The Hunter did not give up on ensnaring Gu Fei using his Hunting Trap, and he set a trap at the probable path Gu Fei would take on his way to the place before informing Nightmare of Death of its location to prevent him from accidentally stepping on the trap, instead.
Nightmare of Death sprinted over to his brothers' given coordinates as he mentally calculated the distance he would need to cover and the time required over his running speed. His heart slightly calmed when he realized that his Fleetfoot would sufficiently bring him over to the location.
However, Nightmare of Death soon discovered that he would be unable to take the shortest route toward the place if he was to take into account the Werewolves' aggro range and avoided it accordingly. If he took a detour, his Fleetfoot's duration would end before he could reach the destination. This was something beyond his control, so Nightmare of Death could only curse the heavens as he literally raced against time and focused on searching the Werewolves' positions for somewhere he could possibly shave the time off.
Eventually, Nightmare of Death only had to run out of the alleyway he was currently in and he would arrive at the location. His Fleetfoot already ended, but since victory was within grasp, Nightmare of Death gutturally roared like a Werewolf and put his all into this final sprint, passing an imaginary finish line with a small leap. This step he took to exit the alleyway allowed him to safely pass the trap that lay beneath the surface of the earth.
Nightmare of Death landed and looked around, yet he could not find where his brothers were hiding. He knew that this was only because his brothers had hidden themselves very well to increase their odds of successfully ambushing the enemy, so he acted his part and pretended to run forward anxiously.
Here he comes! Nightmare of Death's hidden companions muttered to themselves when they saw him exit the alley. Ready… As long as someone burst out next from that alleyway, they would all unleash their attacks.
The Hunter fervently hoped that Gu Fei would step on to his trap, so that he could properly show off his capability. Otherwise, his brothers would certainly use this to ridicule him.
"ATTACK!"
Someone darted out of the alleyway at an unbelievable speed and everyone unleashed all sorts of attacks on him – the Mage casted an AOE spell, the Archer shot an arrow on Snipe, and the Warrior and Thief even flung their spare weapons to deal maximum damage in that instant. These players prepared themselves for the possibility of their first wave of attacks to fail at killing off Gu Fei, so a second wave of attacks was swiftly executed by them after….
"Ah!" A familiar-sounding scream was heard, but it did not come from the alley entrance. All looked at the scream's origin and gawked.
The scream came from Nightmare of Death, and standing before him with a sword pointed at him was Gu Fei.
"How was this possible?!" all wondered as they gazed back at the alley entrance.
The Mage's spell burned something fiercely, and the others' attacks hit something as well, yet what they had hit was a bunch of Werewolves that was currently crowding the alley entrance.
"JUST WHAT IS GOING ON?!" everyone exclaimed in unison.
It was at this point that the system's wickedness was thoroughly displayed. Even the fighting expert Gu Fei would be unable to instantly deduce where all the attacks had come from with so many of them being unleashed at once, yet the system did so instantly. It did not even go through the process of searching for the attackers and merely sicced the Werewolves on their respective assailants – the ones shot by arrows ran straight toward the hiding Archer; the ones struck by the thrown weapons bounded toward the hiding places of the Warrior and Thief; the ones affected by an AOE spell hurtled themselves toward the petrified Mage who had it the worst as his attack inflicted the most damage on the monsters, filling him with endless despair that sapped him of the will to flee; and since a Werewolf got ensnared by the Hunting Trap while being fired at by an Archer, it did not let the Hunter off.
The Hunter's Hunting Trap was only at level 40, so the level 70 Werewolf merely trampled on it when the trap got triggered. Still, the system counted that as a form of attack and unleashed a deadly consequence on the poor player.
Even Gu Fei was a little taken aback by such a scene.
He did not know that Nightmare of Death had set up an ambush for him while fleeing. His Blink's cool-down time had long ended, but since Nightmare of Death had been more than five meters away from him, he had saved it for when Nightmare of Death's Fleetfoot would end. In that way, he could bridge the five-meter gap between them and catch him by surprise with his Blink once more.
When Nightmare of Death had darted out of the alleyway and into the clearing, his Fleetfoot had already ended, so the distance between him and Gu Fei had subsequently shrunk. Moreover, he had intentionally slowed down his pace to lure Gu Fei into their ambush upon exiting the alleyway. This had given Gu Fei a chance to teleport himself right next to him. As for the mob of Werewolves… Gu Fei had not intentionally pulled them. He might be an OP fighter, yet his gaming knowledge was rudimentary at best. Something like the Werewolves' aggro range was only known to the experienced gamer Nightmare of Death and ilk. Gu Fei, for his part, was absolutely clueless about it.
If the Werewolves had been dumbly standing around in place, Gu Fei could have appropriately given them a wide berth, but since they had been moving about to patrol the village aimlessly, while Nightmare of Death had deftly eluded their aggro range, Gu Fei, meanwhile, had clumsily lured a load of them over.
These Werewolves possessed slightly faster movement speed than Gu Fei. While Gu Fei slowly closed in on Nightmare of Death, the Werewolves behind slowly gained ground on him as well. He had resolved to kill Nightmare of Death and had not even thought of giving up the chase even when he had spotted the Werewolves hot on his heels. Since he knew how to handle the Werewolves, Gu Fei was unafraid of them catching up to him. Instead, he had focused his energy on catching up to Nightmare of Death. When the opportunity to finally use Blink came, he unhesitatingly did so, increasing his distance to the Werewolves as a corollary.
And yet, the scene currently unfolding before Gu Fei made him reflect on his action. He had been far too careless! Were it not for the fact that he had coincidentally used Blink before exiting the alleyway, he would be unable to survive all these people's attacks with his speed.
Could he even dodge such an ambush? Gu Fei dared not think of it any longer; he would just cross the bridge when he got there.
Still, that was a really close shave! Gu Fei might be reflecting on his carelessness internally, yet he still could not help but laugh at the scene unfolding before him.
The Werewolves were not as set on targeting Gu Fei as he was on Nightmare of Death, so when he exited their aggro range, plenty of them readily gave up chasing after him, while Gu Fei continued his hunt for Nightmare of Death. No more new Werewolves appeared in that rundown alleyway, and those still trailing after Gu Fei already showed signs of giving up their pursuit as well. This bunch of helpers in the clearing actually unintentionally gained the Werewolves' aggro for themselves and became the monsters' newest targets. Instantly, the small clearing turned into a crime scene for these Werewolves.
Even the players whom Gu Fei had not guessed the hiding places of emerged following the Werewolves' crazed hunt for them. The whole place echoed the surrounding players' resentful cries. The poor Mage, who got surrounded by a whole pack of Werewolves, steeled his heart and killed himself off with his spell… With how these Werewolves tore and bit their targets, these players even suspected if they would still be in one piece when they respawned.
Since the rest of the gang did not have the capability to escape the Werewolves, none of them was able to escape a tragic end. Although the Thief managed to escape with Fleetfoot, since he had been focusing on the monsters behind him, he gained the aggro of the many Werewolves along the way, and when his Fleetfoot's duration ended....
Before long, the people that Nightmare of Death had brought with him to Suoyun Village were killed off by the Werewolves, and only Gu Fei and Nightmare of Death escaped the massacre since they were outside of the Werewolves' aggro range.
Nightmare of Death no longer had any schemes left in him and waited for Gu Fei to do his deed. Contrary to expectation, Gu Fei sighed and said, "Forget it. I'll let you off this one time!" As Nightmare of Death stared at him with dumbfounded eyes, Gu Fei continued, "Go and join your brothers!" With that, Gu Fei forcefully kicked Nightmare of Death into the arms of a Werewolf....

Year 2021.
There was a great war on earth in 2021. It was not a military weapons war, not a nuclear weapons war, nor a chemical weapons war. It was a war between mankind and werewolves.
Werewolves. Based on research that had been conducted by scientists, werewolves first appeared in the era of the 1980s. Scientists conducted research on their bodies and found the fact that the werewolves were actually human. We didn't know who the first werewolves were, but scientists conclude that the first werewolves were an ordinary human who turned into a werewolf after a mysterious gene mutation, which is still unknown.
Based on the results of research conducted on the bodies of werewolves, the first generation of werewolves still could not control their form and consciousness so that they always took the form of a half-wolf human, that is, a creature like humans who walked on two legs, but their bodies were quite dense, large in shape and about two meters high, they had long, sharp fangs on their teeth, their eyes were blood red, and the nails of their fingers and toes were also long and pointed. Their form was truly like a monster, unable to speak and only sounded like animals.
The first generation of werewolves had no consciousness, in the sense that they forgot their identity as humans and only moved according to animal instincts. They forgot their names, forgot their past, forgot how their life was before turning into werewolves. They had no mind, all they knew was a way to survive, mainly related to food. When it comes to food, the type of food they consume was fresh meat, and their favorite dish was human meat. Their penchant for human flesh made them start hunting for humans, following their animal instincts without knowing pity. That was the beginning of the war between humans and werewolves.
Humans officially fell prey to the flesh-eating creature. Many innocent humans fell victim to the ferocity of that monster. Sadistically, many humans became the food of the furry beast. The creature's bite did not cause a human to transform into a werewolf, but the human would die instantly. Their flesh and blood were eaten without any trace, and it was clear that they had no chance of survival.
So, how did werewolves maintain their population on earth if their bite of a human could not turn a human into a werewolf? The answer was so simple. Like humans and animals in general, werewolves maintain populations and reproduce through mating. Their survival instinct seems to lead them to realize the importance of maintaining population in order to strengthen their defense against humans. Over time, their population was increasing due to the interbreeding of werewolves.
Basically, werewolves experienced rapid development in their bodies, and it started to appear in the 2000s. This rapid development had allowed them to control their forms as they wish. They could change forms like an ordinary human; without dense fur, without blood-red eyes, without fangs and sharp nails, and their posture was also of normal size like an ordinary human. On the other hand, they could also fully transform into wolves that walk on four legs when they wanted to transform into complete wolves. In addition, they could still transform into werewolves, namely a tall, big, strong figure that walks on two legs, a combination of a human and a wolf. Their minds had also started to emerge over time. They could also talk and did activities like normal humans. That was when the earth started going into chaos as werewolves started trying to take over the world. They felt that they could not coexist with humans who were their prey. They began to infiltrate the human world, disguising themselves as if they are human, then launched attacks whenever conditions permit. The attack was none other than that carried out in order to eat the human body which became their favorite. That of course presents a very frightening terror to mankind.
In 2021, the human population on earth reached 7.8 billion and the werewolf population was only 0.001% of that number or only about 7.8 million. That number was scattered all over the world, bringing terror not only in one country, but in almost all countries, including in this country. Perhaps at a glance, observers would think that the werewolf population would pose no threat, but in fact it was not that simple. Based on the research results, the physical strength of a werewolf at that time was about ten times that of an ordinary human. They could easily beat humans barehanded. Not only that, the development of their minds was also very significant so that they could create a variety of weapons of war that rivaled human weapons of war. It could be said that the difference in numbers did not necessarily give mankind the upper hand in that war.
From the human side, a special force was formed to fight against the werewolves. They were special forces who had been trained for years both physically and strategically. They were equipped with sophisticated weapons ranging from firearms, bombs, grenades, and other weapons to help them exterminate the monsters. The werewolves didn't want to be outdone either. In fact, about 50 werewolf populations managed to escape and hide somewhere, which led to their lives being saved from the onslaught of mankind's weapons of war.
But even if the humans failed to destroy the entire werewolf population in the end, they could still boast that they had won the war. In fact, humans could indeed be considered victorious because they had succeeded in making the remaining werewolves ran around in fear. The number of werewolves that were still around 50 could be at least negligible because it was not comparable to the number of human beings that were still very large on the earth.
After the war, the humans quickly moved on to solve the chaos caused by the prolonged war. Many facilities and infrastructure were destroyed, many people died and injured, and it was inconceivable how much loss that must be suffered by humans as a result of that war. Recovery efforts were carried out as quickly as possible without delay. Of course, the victims who were lifeless were immediately buried properly, while the injured victims were immediately given treatment by the medical team. The casualties were not only adults who came from the army, but also elderly civilians and also children. Many parents lost their children, and many children lost their parents. Children who no longer had family or relatives had no other choice but to become residents of the orphanage.
Even though the wounds caused by the war could not possibly be healed in a short time, proud smiles remained on the faces of the humans after the war. Parties were held all over the world to celebrate their victory. For several nights the sparkling fireworks never ceased to decorate the black sky. People nowadays no longer needed to feel afraid to leave the house, they no longer needed to lock themselves in the house so that they would not become food for the wild werewolves. Humans could move freely without feeling afraid, the guard that was once very tight had finally been loosened up. The world was safe again, the children were running freely again, everything was back to normal once again. But unfortunately the humans didn't know that the danger was still threatening them silently. They didn't know that one of the babies rescued by them and then being treated by an orphanage could be disastrous for them in the future. Yes, the blue-eyed baby.

Transform into hyper-aggressive wolves on the night of a full moon, provided their gene has been triggered

Werewolves (also called Lycanthropes, Loup Garou, Rougarou, Beasts, or even just Wolves for short) are a supernatural shapeshifting species of individuals who unwillingly transform into large, fearsome, and extremely hostile wolves on the night of the full moon. They were created by the witch Inadu as revenge against her tribe for killing her. Even in their human form, werewolves possess superhuman physical prowess, though not to the same level as a vampire, and their abilities are not as powerful compared to those they possess on the full moon while transformed. These creatures are the most dangerous enemies of vampires due to their venomous bite, which is lethal to them. Werewolves are also hardwired to kill vampires on sight in their wolf form, though they still hunt human prey whenever there are no vampires to kill.

Lycanthropy is an inherited genetic condition due to a curse, and a person can only be a werewolf if they are born to at least one werewolf parent; they cannot be turned by a bite or scratch. Furthermore, the werewolf gene must be "triggered" by taking the life of a human, either intentionally or by accident, in order to gain access to their enhanced physical abilities, though this comes at the cost of transforming into a wolf during every full moon. It does not matter if the kill was accidental or intentional, premeditated or out of self-defense — if a werewolf causes the death of a human in any way, their werewolf gene will be activated. Untriggered werewolves, however, can kill vampires without activating their curse.

In Voodoo in My Blood, the origins of the Werewolf Curse and Werewolves were revealed. A powerful witch, that was known as "the Hollow", cursed the members of her tribe that were responsible for her murder and created the Seven Werewolf Bloodlines. The Hollow was hunted by wolves, and was killed on the night of a full moon. These circumstances would cause future werewolves to have to take a human life to activate the werewolf gene, forcing the species to have to painfully shapeshift on the night of a full moon into the very animals that hunted Inadu down.

Werewolf Settlements

According to Klaus, werewolves exist throughout the United States from the East to the West coasts, though they are not always easy to find. Most werewolves gather in packs, where some of them, such as Ray Sutton's pack, remain on the road, only gathering at the full moon so they turn freely in remote mountains or parks. Nevertheless, some werewolf communities will gather in one place and settle there to create long-term homes in towns and cities where they may make up a significant fraction of an area's supernatural population, such as the Crescent Wolf Pack and the Bayou Pack, who have settled in the greater New Orleans region on the southern coast of Louisiana.

Physiology

Food

Like normal humans, werewolves can eat human food if they wish. However, because they turn into ferocious beasts during the full moon, they are carnivores. When in wolf form, they can feed on human or vampire body parts and organs, but they are not required to ingest them in order to prolong their existence, like vampires, must do with blood. There are no known consequences from abstaining from human or vampire flesh while in werewolf form. It seems that most werewolves do not get to feed on humanoid flesh, because most tend to lock themselves up during the full moon, or are scared or distracted away from their victim before they can eat them.

Werewolves have not been seen to attack each other in human or lupine form, but have been known to hunt both human and vampire prey while transformed under the full moon.

Appearance

Werewolves in their wolf form are quite similar to natural wolves, although unlike natural wolves, werewolves have glowing yellow or orange eyes, wicked fangs, and a much more feral and predatory appearance. They can also be distinguished from regular wolves by their displays of supernatural strength, blurred speed, and size which is comparable to fully grown humans. The fur color of wolf forms differs from one to the other (e.g., Tyler Lockwood's fur color is dark brown, Mason Lockwood's is white and grey, Jules' is light brown with a hint of white, and Hayley's is tan and brown). Werewolves appear the same as any other human the rest of the month, aside from their enhanced abilities of speed, strength, and healing.

Werewolf Transformation

A werewolf will only transform into a wolf under a full moon. The first transformation is quite slow, and the person is subjected to at least five or six hours of intense, bone-breaking pain before the actual transformation. After the first transformation, the experience does not last nearly as long, but it is still painful and something many werewolves come to dread. Klaus mentions that embracing the transformation rather than fighting it as most werewolves do, would make the process faster.

Psychological Characteristics

Werewolves are known to be aggressive, strong and fast, even in human form. Tyler Lockwood often had trouble controlling his temper, especially leading up to and during the full moon. Those with the werewolf curse still latent can exhibit some supernatural traits which can be triggered by aggression, along with unusual physical strength for the person's given size and age, but they cannot fully transform, and they also have a tendency to black out when they become overwhelmed in fits of rage. Werewolves seem to have a strong sense of duty and loyalty to protect their own and feel a responsibility to help their fellow werewolves whenever they can

Code of Loyalty

Werewolves are very similar to witches when it comes to their own kind. Unlike vampires, werewolves have an unwavering sense of loyalty, and will often bond with other werewolves they meet. They form packs and work with each other as sort of an extended family. The bond of loyalty between werewolves is so strong that while changed under full moons, the only beings they do not attack are other werewolves (regardless of whether or not they have activated their werewolf gene). This code does seem to extend to Klaus' hybrids, as well. It's possible that another reason why Klaus' hybrids were so loyal, aside for the Sire Bond between them, was because of their werewolf heritage.

Powers and Abilities

Super Strength: Werewolves possess supernatural strength that makes them far stronger than immortals, Supernatural Hunters, and humans, such as when Tyler pulled the door off his locker, or when Diego ripped apart a bully. 

Super Speed: Werewolves are much faster than humans and some other supernatural beings. They possess this ability both in and out of transformation, with an animalistic quickness. For example, while in human form, Rafael Waithe scaled up and down the side of a building in under twenty-seconds.

Super Agility: Werewolves possess superhuman agility. In both human and wolf form, they have demonstrated that they can move, jump very high, climb, flip, and run incredibly fast without difficulty or exhaustion. They can also jump down from incredible heights with almost gravity-defying grace.

Super Durability: Werewolves can take far more trauma than humans without nearly as much discomfort or injury, however, not as much as vampires. They can also exert themselves for longer periods without tiring.

Healing Factor: Werewolves possess superhuman regenerative abilities, meaning that if they are physically injured, their bodies will heal rapidly. Like vampires, werewolves can heal from the most grievous of injuries, even in human form, albeit more slowly in comparison to vampires. However, unlike vampires, when a werewolf's neck is broken, they stay dead.

Super Senses: Werewolves have extremely keen and heightened senses of smell, sight, taste, hearing, and touch that exceed their wolf counterparts and that of regular canines. With this, experienced werewolves such as Jules could sniff out vampires - something vampires themselves are incapable of - and Tyler could taste vervain placed in his coffee, which would otherwise be impossible since coffee's intense flavor typically masks the taste of the herb. 

Lycanthrope Enhancement: Werewolves are able to make their eyes glow when angry or threatened, but only for a short amount of time. When a werewolf is furious or forced to defend themselves, their anger increases all their power and abilities for a short period of time, which allows them to access some of the power of their wolf form to give them an edge.

Shapeshifting/Transformation Control: During a full moon, they will unwillingly transform from their human form and into their wolf form. However, if a female werewolf is pregnant, they will not turn for nine months as the transformation would kill the baby.

Werewolf Bite: A werewolf's venom is extremely lethal to non-original vampires. While an Original vampire cannot die from the venom, they are not wholly immune to the effects of the bite. For non-Original vampires, the venom acts as an poison of sorts that will enter the bloodstream and deliver the toxin throughout the body, producing discomfort and weakness, developing uncontrollable hunger that progresses to delusions, hallucinations, rabid rage, and dementia, culminating in death. Original vampires undergo the same effects, but do not die and will eventually fully recover.

Full Moon: A werewolf's strength, speed, agility, and all their powers are enhanced to their peak during a full moon.

Immunity to Silver: Werewolves are immune to magic bonded to silver. Weapons made of silver might wound them, but the wound still heals at supernatural rates and will not be fatal to them.

Weaknesses

Wolfsbane: When ingested, wolfsbane causes a werewolf to become severely weak and feverish. Also, If a werewolf's skin is exposed to wolfsbane, it will burn them.

Mortality: In most situations, minor physical injuries such as gunshots, stab wounds, and broken bones will cause a werewolf pain and slow them down until they heal. However, they still share many of the same weaknesses as non-supernatural beings and can perish from extreme trauma (e.g. suffocation, extreme blood Loss, a broken neck, decapitation, fire, heart extraction, etc.). They can also die from old age.

Magic: Werewolves are susceptible to the powers of witchcraft. This is inclusive of mystical objects such as the Starling Necklace, Gilbert Device, and dark objects. Multiple spells have been performed by witches against werewolves to cause several effects against them, such as slowing down or speeding up a werewolf's transformation during a full moon, telekinetically ripping a heart from a werewolf's chest, or cursing a pack of werewolves to be trapped in their wolf form at all times except for a few short hours during the full moon when they return to their human forms.

Former Weaknesses

Doppelgänger Blood Magic: If blood from the last pair of doppelgängers is used in the Magic Purification Spell, all activated werewolves revert back to being a mortal with an untriggered wolf gene like Tyler. Kai absorbed the magic purification spell and as such, it no longer exists.
