#Tuesday announcement#

Hello everyone, author is here))
I want to take a break today, because due to growing story and continious improvement of MC it is really hard to manually keep track of what changes and what increases. What one ability does and etc. 
Therefore, today I started on creating a software that will help with that issue. I started it in the morning and still doing it now. 
Because, I spent most of my day typing program and sitting while doing so, I don't have strength to write a chapter for a story. It takes on average around 3 to 4 full hours to write a chapter if idea is clear, however lately chapters take longer, due to all foundation laying and story progression.
So, I don't want to write a wacky chapter just for a sake of new chapter. I will continue working on software to keep track of the MC progression and hopefully tomorrow I will do the chapter.

#Wednesday Update#

So, I am still working on software. Saving objects and modifying their copies is huge problem in C# cause it has no direct way of doing and apparently I forgot about it ;_) so... I made vital parts of interface and implemented them but still got stuck with copying objects. Takes a lot of time and I am really tired, but thought that not updating chaps for you for 2 days straight will be bad, so I decided to dedicate less time to software and started finishing chapter I started yesterday. 
After all, today I had to do less things for soft then on Tuesday))   
Without software really hard to keep track of all skills and abilities and other stuff. And paper not very editable in my opinion AND Wednesday chapter was especially heavy on this, but I did it XD .  
Thankfully I started it yesterday, so I was able to make it)))

Anyway I am going to continue doing software. See tomorrow. And don't forget to leave your feedback. I always try to read your comments. 

#Thursday update#

Software is nearly finished and I already started filling up info I had manually written or just kept in mind. I wanted to finish it as soon as possible, but rushing will lead only to mistakes. 
So today's chapter will be skipped as well, because previous chapter received some negative feedback, despite me working on it for 2-3 hours, which means I need to polish chapters even harder. 
Also, there was an idea by "WolfLord" about quests and that got me thinking about how can I implement it, because the idea was really good and would fit with next activity(walk in forest).

I am NOT dropping the novel. 
I am actually doing everything possible to make my future writing of the novel smoother and faster. See you all tomorrow.

Shuvam was scared. He was scared sh*tless. But he knew there was no going back. After all, he had installed the software thingy himself. The temptation he got while reading the last line of the message he got in his phone ' It will help you achieve your goals in life. ' was too big. 

He looked at the robot thingy and asked, " What are you ? "

" I am the one who will help you achieve your goals. My name is Andy. ", the robot 'Andy ' replied.

" Why are you helping me ? "

" Because you were chosen. "

" Who ? Who chose me ? "

" You will know when the time comes. For now, know this , In the cyber world there is nothing impossible for me. So, let me help you achieve your goals and one day when I require your help, you will have to repay me in full. "

After saying this, Andy revealed a wide grin from his earlier non existent mouth.

Shuvam had read a lot of light novels. He was really when he realized that this OP system would help him achieve his goals in life. But when he saw the grin on Andy's face, Shuvam was once again scared. It seemed like he was making a deal with the devil himself.

Since he wanted to be lead a happy and fun life by playing and making games, he frowned when he heard that he needed to employ some hacker bot and second he didn't even know how to do it. 

" Let me tell you this. Each and every person on this planet has their cyber activity constantly monitored. I have prevented them from hearing to us and monitoring you but I can only prevent them for about half an hour. So you would need hacker bot to prevent them from monitoring you."

" How do I employ one? There are no files related to the software or a shortcut to open the software."

" The software is called ' Game dev system ' and you have to say ' interface ' in order to open the software. "

"Interface", Shuvam said ecstatically.

The whole screen changed. He was taken to a new screen which had drak-red background and a few options to select from.

He was currently on the ' Current Projects ' tab. It said ' No current projects ' in big bold silver letters. There were other tabs such as employment office, employed bots and profile.

Andy appeared on the right side of the screen and explained how the software functioned and its options.

" This is the software. You can check your current projects in the current projects tab. The progress of the ongoing projects can be checked here. The employment office is where you employ bots for making them do your work. The bots are bought using dev coins. You will be given a startup amount of coins to work with and later you will  earn them on the basis of the popularity of your games. Employed bots shows you the list of bots you have employed and shows whether those are bots are free or working in any project. Your profile shows you the popularity of your finished games and your current balance. "

" Now go to the employment office tab and employ a hacker bot. "

" What is my startup amount? "

" You have been provided with 1000 dev coins as startup amount. Since only basic bots are available for you to employ, it will cost you 100 dev coins to employ a basic hacker bot. "

" OK. I will buy one ASAP. But why basic? Will it be able to prevent those people from monitoring me? "

" It is more than enough for now. "

When he clicked on the employment office tab, he was shocked. There was a row of names with prices beside them. He felt like he was on a crappy e-commerce website with just name of the products and their prices. There were lots of bots. He saw animator bots, AI maker bots, hacker bots, level design bots, musician bots, assistant bots, 3d modeling bots, programmer bots and game testing bots. The prices were pretty much same, assistant bots and game testing bots were 10 dev coins each whereas the remaining ones were 100 dev coins each.

He was ecstatic when he saw these different types of bots that are needed to develop games .Since Andy was still there, he controlled himself and clicked on the hacker bot option.

It took him to an description page. The name of the bot was displayed in bold letters with its price - 100 dev coins, free space required - 100 GB and its description saying ' These bots help you by stopping any cyber attacks on you, preventing others from monitoring your cyber activity and helps you carry out cyber attacks on others. '

There was a blue ' employ ' button at the right side of the page. Shuvam clicked it. 100 of his dev coins and 100 GB of his free space went away just like that. 

" I suggest you employ two of those. "

" Two. Why? "

"You pressed the blue ' employ ' button which means you employed a defensive hacker not which prevents others from attacking you. Now press that circular button at the side and you can employ offensive hacker bot. You will be needing one offensive bot to get you some money in order to buy better hardware."

" Wait, you can give me money, too? "

"Of course, employ a hacker bot  and tell it to transfer money to your bank account. But the bank account needs to be yours not anyone else's."

Thinking how he can go to Kathmandu on his own and study game designing, he grew ecstatic and was grinning.

"Is that okay? Wouldn't you be offended by that?" Maru cautiously asked the lady voice.

"Affirmative, host. The system has no emotions." The female voice sounded.

"What are you?" Maru could barely comprehend about the things the lady voice was talking about.

"I am an Artificial Intelligence System, host." The female voice said to Maru.

"Okay. How come I can hear you?" Maru waded forward even without understanding what an Artificial Intelligence System was. He continued throwing questions at the lady voice.

"The system has been integrated with your soul, host." The female voice replied to Maru.

"Integrated? Does that mean that you live in my soul?" Maru asked the lady voice.

"Affirmative, host." The female voice responded to Maru.

"How did this happen? Did my father send you?" Maru said to the lady voice. He was having trouble digesting all these information. There was only one person he could think of who would help him in his moment of need, his father.

The only other people he knows were his mother and sister. Maru obviously knows that they couldn't have been responsible for this mysterious lady voice to magically appear in his soul.

"Negative, host. I was sent by the Immortal Maker "Nameless One". He saw your plight and gave the system as a gift. It was both an act of his eternal pity and endless mercy. The master only wishes that you use it well so that you may live your life the way you want it to." The female voice answered in length towards Maru.

"Who is this Immortal Maker "Nameless One"?" Maru asked in curiosity.

"Immortal Maker "Nameless One" is the Lord of the Realms, host." The female voice replied to Maru.

"Okay. What can you do for me, madame?" Maru didn't understand what those vague terms mean but he was not willing to linger on such unimportant things. What he wanted to know was how this mystical lady voice could help him.

"I will do anything you command me, host. The system currently has a realm wide scanning technology pre-installed for the host's advantage. In my database are the entirety of the technological advancements and breakthroughs of every territorial realms owned by Immortal Maker "Nameless One".

"Scanning technology? Does that mean you could find anybody in this area?" Maru asked in wonder to the lady voice.

"Affirmative, host." The female voice replied to Maru.

"Can you find…" my father? Was what Maru wanted to add. But he did not find the courage to continue uttering the question. If he find out that his dad already died, he would be sad. Not for him but for his sister. And if he would find that his father was now living the dream with his new wife and family, Maru would hate his father more.

In the end, it was better not to know. Yet. Maybe when he grows up just like he promised Uwyn, Maru would eventually get enough confidence to know the truth. But now it would be best for things to stay as they were. After all, they have survived without him throughout these years.

Hello readers. I'm currently not able to access the site using my laptop. I'm not sure when this problem will be solved but until then I'm not going to post any chapters. I could write with my phone but it would drop the quality since my phone is not installed with proof reading software which help with my editing. I don't have an editor and I'm working on this novel on my own. Being a non-native english speaker myself, I would surely make a lot of mistakes while writing. (Even with the software I would do mistakes here and there. Imagine doing so without one ㅠㅠ) I hope this problem could be resolved soon. Thank you for your understanding. By then I will continue drafting.

Ves brushed past the marketing spiel and went straight to the point. "Well, Dias, I would like to outfit myself and Ketis here with some personal gear. To be more specific, we want to acquire high-quality weapons, armor and and various handheld tools."
Dias presented him with a gleaming smile. "We offer some of the finest weapons, armor and tools in our extensive product catalog! In order to offer you the most suitable selection of products, it would help if you list out some criteria. What is your budget? Do you wish to buy locally-produced gear, or would you rather take a fancy for some of our imported products from the Friday Coalition?"
"I'm looking for products that esteemed craftsmen have made by hand." Ves stated immediately. While he did not expect to obtain something as fantastic as the original Amastendira, he wanted to obtain something better than mass produced gear. "Preferably, I'd like to obtain custom products, but I'm kind of in need of gear right now."
"Hmm. It is indeed difficult to obtain customized gear on short notice." Dias frowned. "Many craftsmen that produce the best weapons and armor have waiting lists that stretch for months or even years. Those that are more immediately available won't offer the quality that a discerning customer such as yourself will be satisfied with. However, we offer a wide range of high-quality ready-made products that are just as good as custom pieces. Please follow me while I guide you to a showroom."
They moved up a few levels and entered a largely empty showroom. Dias activated a command on his comm which caused a table to arise from the floor. A projection appeared in front of the table which gave the user access to the product catalog of the store.
Dias then began to manipulate the interface, causing a few weapons to appear on the table from below. "We know that each piece of craftsmanship is a unique work that differs from every other product even by the same maker. Looking at a finely crafted product through a projection is as senseless as admiring jewelry from afar. Here at Renny's Outfitters, we offer you the opportunity to touch and study all of our readily-available products up close."
Ves and Ketis approached the table and studied the wide range of pistols on display. They encompassed most of the types and subtypes of pistols in use in the Bright Republic.
"Ketis, you need a new sidearm, right? Do you prefer a laser weapon or a ballistic weapon?"
"Laser. It's easier to work with when paired with a good targeting system." She replied.
Dias immediately latched on to that. "While a fair number of our laser pistols are geared towards expert marksmen who distrust targeting systems, we offer hundreds of laser pistol models that are highly compatible with all of the targeting systems integrated into our other products. Even if you pair a pistol imported from the Friday Coalition with a suit of combat armor from the Reinald Republic, our software engineers have already made sure that they will be able to work together without any of the usual incompatibility issues."
Ves nodded in satisfaction. This was indeed a legitimate concern to most people who sourced their gear from different sources, but an all-service store like Renny's Outfitters saved their customers a lot of eeffort.
With a few commands, the other types of pistols disappeared from the table. Instead, more laser pistols emerged in their places.
Like a kid visiting a candy store, Ketis immediately leaned forward and grabbed the shiniest pistols on offer. She weighed them in her hands and admired their exquisite craftsmanship.
As a mech designer, she possessed enough awareness to know that these were genuine expressions of craftsmanship. They were literally individual pieces of art with a useful function thrown in for good measure. These pistols were the kind of weapons that Ves could hang up on the wall of his penthouse office to impress the visitors.
Ves only found it regretful that he hadn't spotted any mastercrafted products. Even a store as renowned as Renny's Outfitters wouldn't easily display any mastercrafted gear. Such products usually came about by chance. The craftsmen who were lucky enough to produce a work of mastercraft quality would almost certainly sell them to their friends or favored customers.
If someone like Ves wanted to obtain a genuine mastercrafted piece of gear, he would have to either make friends with a craftsman or obtain one at a sky-high price in an auction.
Ves did not have the time to wait for either of those possibilities. Besides, his expectations may be high, but they were not excessive.Ves was not willing to fork out billions of credits just for a single piece of exquisite gear.
"Ves! Come take a look! I think this laser pistol is the right one for me! I have a good feel for this gun!"
To his surprise, Ketis favored a large, masculine looking laser pistol. Its visual design incorporated a brutal element that looked very macho when used by tough guys. In the hands of Ketis, however, all of her dormant pirate traits began to rouse themselves. It was as if a sleeping dragon started to wake!
After holding out his hand, Ketis passed over the hefty weapon. The weapon bore its name on its side. 
"The Udor is not an elegant pistol, but what it lacks in grace, it more than makes up for it with its punch." Dias explained. "The Udor is a large laser pistol with a high capacity and offers a wide variety of firing modes. Whether you want to burn through a hatch or stop a mob of hundreds of madmen, the Udor is capable of saving you from a variety of threats with the right configuration."
Ketis practically fell in love with the Udor already. She bobbed her head so vigorously that her poofy beret threatened to fall off!
All of the capabilities mentioned by Dias sounded somewhat similar to what the Amastendira offered, though not as powerful. Perhaps that was part of the reason why she opted to go for a large pistol rather than a smaller and more concealable sidearm.
Ves recognized the Udor as a true piece of craftsmanship. Not that Renny's Outfitters would ever stoop to passing off mass-produced goods as artisanal pieces, but it helped that Ves could feel the care and attention its maker put into the gun. A weak but very present form of spirituality suffused the weapon.
There must be a story behind the Udor. Perhaps something related to pirates for its maker to incorporate so many visual motifs related to frontier pirates into the design.
"Price?"
"39 million credits. This price encompasses both the product and the services we offer. The Udor requires periodic maintenance in order to retain its peak condition, and we have many experts on hand if you desire some adjustments."
Ves already made his own evaluation of the weapon. The Udor, despite its brutish appearance, was a very high-quality pistol that incorporated a lot of expensive exotics in a very tiny package.
"We'll take it. Please inspect the Udor thoroughly."
Dias understood Ves' concerns. "We work with various independent appraisers and inspectors to make sure that the hardware and software of our products are free from defects and malicious elements. It will take a few hours for them to inspect the Udor, but you will eventually be able to receive it in a sealed state along with certificates that verify its integrity upon the moment of delivery."
With the Udor sinking back down the floor to be sent for inspections, Ves moved on to picking his own sidearm.
Since he already possessed the Amastendira, Ves sought out a weapon that inflicted physical damage. He didn't wish to buy a gun as big and excessive as the Udor. Instead, he wanted something that was much less ostentatious, yet still exuded a lot of class.
When Ves presented his criteria to Dias, the man manipulated the interface and caused every laser pistol to sink away. Moments later, dozens of ballistic pistols and a few more unusual weapon types rose up. Each of them called for his attention.
"I want a pistol with a high magazine capacity." Ves added. "It should be capable of firing rounds with decent armor-piercing capability, but I don't want the gun to run empty after firing only six or seven rounds."
If Ves ever lacked aim-assist, he would probably need more chances than that to actually hit a target at a distance!
Dias wordlessly retracted over half of the pistols, only to cause new ones to take their place.
Most of the pistols still consisted of regular ballistic pistols, but a few looked decidedly odder. Ves lacked the training to use these more advanced weapons proficiently, so he didn't study them for long.
"Let's see what I can use."

Chapter 6. Thoughts

"Ren, how is your school going?"

"Ah, it's going well."

Ren answered his mother's question as he was eating dinner. 

"Have your already thought of a university?"

'University!'

Ren slightly frown hearing that question. He had not thought about going to a university. No, he don't know if he really wanted to go to a university or not.

In his previous life, university was the place where everything had started for him and he also didn't have many good memories of it.

Although Ren had those thoughts, he still answered his mother normally.

"I hadn't thought of anything yet."

His mother frowned at Ren's answer and said.

"You are already in your third year and there's less than a year left to the university exams. You have to thought about these things quickly."

"Yes"

Ren simply nodded at his mother's words and noticing that, his mother nagging continued.

"You have to do well in your upcoming midterm exams. If you want to join some cram schools, tell me. I will give you the money for it."

Ren simply nodded at his mother's words but he was frowning inwardly. 

'This was very similar to my last life.'

The conversation Ren was currently having was very similar to his last life. 

At that time, his parents had continued to nag him everyday with a silmilar conversation and Ren had to listen to their words and go to various cram schools.

Although the result was good and Ren was able to get into a literary college because of it but only Ren knew that he had pushed himself to study.

That was not a pleasant phase in his life. It was only after entering the college that he had confronted his parents and decided to write a novel.

"Are you listening to me? If you don't study now, you won't be able to get a job like your father and live a good life."

Ren instinctively frowned at his mother's words. He was really frowning too much but he can't do anything about it when his mother talked about his father in the conversation.

His father was a office worker and he also have a good salary and a high position. He also have a good wife and a son. You can describe him as a happy man but…..

'His seat was empty as usual.'

Ren glanced at his father's seat which was empty. It was like this for at least half of the month. His father would often work overtime and come home late.

You could say that his life was good but it was too tiring. Even if Ren forced himself, he didn't wanted to live that kind of life.

It was simply too exhausting!

"Do you understand? You have to do well in your studies or you will not be able to succeed in life."

Ren wanted to retort her words but he knew it wasn't the time for that. In his previous life, he had a fallout with his parents and they had never met each other till his death.

He didn't wanted to have the same experience in this life. Only after being lonely did he understood the value of parents.

For now, he can only listen to the nagging of his mother while consecutively nodding his head.

'What do I do from now on?'

It was a question Ren was continuously asking himself. His mind was in a mess. It wasn't because of his mother's nagging but because of a sentence that was roaming in his mind.

'You will do well as a author!'

They are the words that Nakai sensei had told him and since then, he had thinking about those words.

Can he really be a author? Can he really write a good story? What are the chances of him succeeding? He can also fail, right.

Those were the thoughts that were roaming in his head. Although he had said that he will continue his career as a author if he get the second chance but he was not sure if he can really walk the path again.

You could say he was insecure. He was afraid of the failure. He didn't wanted to go through the same life again.

'But what can I do if not writing?'

He thought of his earlier conversation with his mother. His mother wished him to go to a university and get a office job but Ren knew he wasn't suitable for it.

He knew that he will not be able to survive in that kind of job. It also wasn't like he was just starting his high school.

He was already in his third year of high school. There wasn't much time left before he had to face society.

He can either go through what his mother said and regret or he he could go through his own path and live a life of no regrets.

It was really obvious what he should choose but he was slightly afraid. 

'The only thing I didn't regret.'

As he was thinking about that, he thought of his previous life. He had many regrets in that life but there was one thing he never regretted, it was choosing his life as a author.

He never regretted that he choosed to become a author until he died. 

While thinking about that, Ren stood up from his bed and opened his laptop.

It was a laptop which was only used by the previous owner to play games but it still had a writing software.

Ren opened the software and wrote the working title on it. 

'Genius.'

He had decided to write the same topic Nakai sensei had told him to but he didn't plan to just write the story based on his essay.

A essay and a novel is a fundamentally different thing. 

A essay consist of the author's own arguments and thoughts about a topic but a novel also have to connect to the readers.

He will have to change the story completely if he wanted his novel to connect with the readers.

'What do I write about?'

He wanted to write about something he can relate to. Genius was a topic that was closely related to his past life but adapting it into a novel is different.

'A story about a genius!'

A story than relates closely to his past life but can he really say that he was a genius.

Ren didn't knew the question to this answer. If he really was a genius, then he shouldn't have failed but he also can't deny that he was called a genius.

If he really believed that he was a genius, then he can't deny that geniuses can also fail.

His mind was in a web of thoughts but before he realised, his hands were already moving.

He was typing words very quickly and soon, he had wrote nearly 5000 words.

He looked at the time, it was already 12. It should have slept already but his mind was wide awake and he wanted to write currently.

'It was a nostalgic feeling.'

While writing, he felt the nostalgic feeling he used to feel in his previous life. He was writing after a long time but he felt like he was again alive.

'It is a good feeling.'

While thinking about that, Ren continued to write

Fame, wealth, prestige, genius, destruction, despair, loss and failure.

Those are the eight words which describes Ren's life completely.

He was hailed as a genius but his arrogance led him to despair. From a genius, he became a failure.

He was just struggling with his life when fate gave him a second chance.

Now, what will he do after he found himself waking up in another world.

I know it's a long break (more than a year) but I had to focus on my studies. Now into a 2-year internship with lots of free time in my hand. Thus I've decided to continue the novel, at the very least I can guarantee that I can keep writing for the next couple of years.

Guys, I'll officially upload the next new chapter in a couple of weeks; I'm editing all the chapters released, to improve the standard. Re-evaluation of the novel showed my standard of writing is weak, which's obvious given the fact that English is only my third language.   

I'm working on improving my writing skills but for the immediate results, an Editor software has been subscribed for premium.
