World-famous scientist Newton Benter was celebrating his newest invention when an accident caused his lab to blow up with him in it. Now reincarnated into the fantasy setting he dreamed about as a kid, he zealously investigates the laws of the world, redefining what it means to call oneself a cultivator.

Such was the case of one poor soul who had never asked for anything more than the newest fantasy VR game that christmas.

She was a normal girl from a normal family working a normal salary job. 

Other than being quite skilled at video games and puzzle solving, she was the epitome of mediocrity.

However this had never bothered her in the slightest, more she took pride in her normalcy, quite the feat.

Her only passion in her life was video games, She adored them, instead of using her salary to buy the newest makeup products and name brand clothing, she bought the new assassin's creed (which is really great btw).

On christmas eve, being single and having a not so great relationship with the rest of her family, she went out to buy her own presents because of course her presents wouldn't appear magically under her nonexistent christmas tree!

She was currently powerwalking towards a large store with posters portraying wizards and warriors fighting  mystical creatures and whatnot. Ignoring the grand posters, she waltzed right into the store.

she walked with no hesitation from years of experience navigating the store, she soon arrived at her destination, the new games section where you could buy the newest VR headset along with the newest VR fantasy game in a set, it was a deal!

After purchasing the game and using up most of her savings, she power walked home.
She lived in a small apartment complex with about 8 apartments, the typical japanese one's. She knew all her neighbors, mostly housewives waiting for gossip or taking care of their kids but overall nice people. 

Ignoring her neighbors who greeted her with smiles on their faces as they watched her rush up the stairs and almost trip. It wasn't like they were waiting for a response but none ever came.

Back in her humble abode, our main character who's name shall finally be revealed, fumbled with her keys as she locked the door behind her, still in a rush she didn't even think to turn the lights on and grabbed her shopping bag that contained her precious treasures, and ran to her bedroom.

Lucille, an Asian girl who's parents thought it was a great idea to give her a French name, unceremoniously slammed open the door to her bedroom, ran to her gamer chair, plugged in the VR headset after throwing a quick glance at the instructions and hastily unwrapped the new game she had purchased.

Lucille carefully placed the VR headset over her eyes and turned it on. A green light flashed a few times before the headset suddenly started to squeeze Lucille's head. 

Lucille panicked as she tried desperately to take off the headset. While trying to remove the headset, she didn't realize that half of her body had turned into white pixels and was slowly disappearing.

Lucille thought " ooh shit what have I done?", she should have read the instructions more attentively but it was too late for that, her whole body had been pixelated save for her her face.

She cried out for help but her attempts were futile and pretty soon her whole body was pixelated. In a flash of bright white light, the girl disappeared. Her new headset fell on her chair with a muffled thud and then, the room that was once filled with the girl's panicked screams fell silent...

...

Silence greeted Lucille as she slowly opened her eyes, a wide expanse of... white? spread out before her. 

It took her a few minutes to orient herself and sort out her emotions cus man was she a mess. her long black hair looked like she had run towards a tornado and somehow come out alive. She was wearing the most casual outfit known to man, a tank top and some sweat pants that looked like they were hand me downs from her grandfather.

Basically she was a mess both on the outside and the inside. After a few minutes of her staring into the white void that surrounded her,  a voice suddenly rang loud and clear in Lucille's ears : "welcome to the newest VR game,  Taflheim online, you are set to spawn in Daskar, a country to the north of the Taflheim continent. Before spawning, you are required to choose a race and *static"

Another voice interrupted the monotone voice that sounded like google translate, this one sounded more human, like it was talking to her  through the system or something like that "*ahem   Can you hear me?" the voice took on an inquisitive tone. 
Not knowing what to say, Lucille frantically nodded her head. Before she could ask any questions the voice went on:
"You have been transported inside of the Taflheim world due to unknown technical reasons meaning you are an anomaly in the system and if you don't get out now you will be attacked by the game's protection protocols! The only thing I can do is send you into the game! Good luck!".

With that, the voice stopped abruptly and Lucille was once again thrown into a world of black as she fell unconscious and was sent to the world of Taflheim not knowing what awaited her...

What happens when you like games and you get the chance to be inside one but there's one small molecular problem... you don't have skin, you have scales, you don't have nails you have claws...yup you're a dragon?!

Follow Lucille as she finds out WHY the heck she was sucked into a VR game that was on her christmas wishlist and slowly unravel the mysteries behind her reincarnation.

My friend started all of this. "You have seriously got to try this game" is what she said. I didnt really get the the hype of it was the newest VR game to come out of 'Malintizing' game company. Thier current fame they had just released a month ago hit the top of the charts in record time. My friend told me the day she got it how to play beging me to join her. The game seemed simple enough it consists of 5 worlds a gun world, a fantasy world, a war torn world, and a survival world but the main show case was a world that hadn't opened yet appernetly every one thinks it going to combine all the worlds together in some kind of challenge. At least thats what forums are gussing. She told me I would love it you get to design your own avatar and that avatar could move between all worlds. So i assumed it was a guns and magic game. after telling her I would try it she handed me the gear and game system and told me she would be waiting in the fantasy world for me and that her avater name was 'Sho'nie'. Man if only I'd  know how wierd things were going to get.

Everyone was getting excited just from the sketches, especially when they thought about how the world of Azeroth would be made into an RPG game.
Wen Lingwei, Jia Peng and the others did not expect that Chen Mo would want to make an RTS as it was dominated by one overseas company, and none of the Chinese companies were able to properly integrate into the market.
Which was why the others thought that Chen Mo would make an RPG, because it would be the safest choice.
All of a sudden, Wen Lingwei mentioned, "By the way, manager, have you seen Zen Entertainment's newest game?"
Chen Mo shook his head, "Nope, what is it?"
"I think it's called 'Seven Heroes'. It's a Wuxia themed large scale RPG on the PC," answered Wen Lingwei.
Zheng Hongxi said, "Oh that, I think it just entered closed beta today, and would enter public beta in two months."
That managed to grab Chen Mo's attention, "Really? What type of game is it?"
Zheng Hongxi replied, "I watched the trailer, and it feels like a reskin of Legend of the Sword, swapping out the Xianxia theme into Wuxia theme.
"Huh? They're doing that? Zen Entertainment sure is lazy," said Jia Peng.
Zheng Hongxi said, "It's not really lazy. Because of how successful Legend of the Sword was, any small changes could completely destroy the game. Copying their own game would be a safer choice."
Chen Mo nodded in agreement. This was actually quite common in his previous world. A large majority of the companies don't have the courage to make big changes to a game that was already successful. It isn't easy to create something new too, and I may even have the opposite effect.
Therefore, the safer choice would be to reskin their own game, changing out Xianxia to Wuxia. They would need to change things such as the content, how it's sold, jobs, and the combat system, but the core of the game would remain the same, minimizing the risk of failure.
Qian Kun said, "It seems like they are just testing the waters. If it was successful as a PC game, they'll make it into a VR game. Same old plan."
"The PC version will probably be successful, as in China, Legend of the Sword still has the best of the best gameplay," said Zheng Hongxi.
As they were discussing, Su Jinyu exclaimed out of nowhere, "Huh? Take a look guys at Emperor Dynasty Entertainment's Weibo! They are releasing a new game!"
Everyone took out their phone to check their Weibo. Indeed Emperor Dynasty Entertainment posted a Weibo on their new game,
After the launch of I Am MT, Chen Mo developed Thunderbolt Tabletop as well as Lifeline. Including the development time, as well as testing, pre-release preparations and everything else was around four month's of time.
It was now evident that Emperor Dynasty Entertainment hadn't been slacking during that time.
The Weibo was as follows : Our newest game Ain World is now in closed beta! Expansive world, rich character customisation and different races, providing you with a unique RPG experience!
There were a few artworks included in the Weibo post, human knights, orc warriors, and elven archers. There were also a few artworks for the background setting, giving off strong Western Fantasy vibes.
Zheng Hongxi was also shocked, "What is this? Why would Emperor Dynasty make a Western Fantasy game?"
Wen Lingwei said disapprovingly, "It's even called Ain World. It's a knockoff of Azeroth right?"
"Manager, what do you think?" asked Su Jinyu.
Chen Mo laughed, "What is there to think. Western Fantasy as a theme is currently in limbo in China. Emperor Dynasty and Zen have avoided it like the plague in the past, but decided to try it again out of nowhere. Moreover, it's a completely original fictional world. Obviously..."
Zheng Hongxi finished off his sentence, "They're copying Azeroth."
Chen Mo nodded, "Bingo."
"Wow, that's really a new low for Emperor Dynasty, they copy everything the manager does. Does a huge company like them have no sense of dignity?" Jia Peng said angrily.
Wen Lingwei added, "They've even copied it before we made it."
Chen Mo laughed, "Don't worry, out of all the knockoffs they've made, was there a single one that performed better than the original?"
"Well, we can't do nothing about it, right? Copying fictional worlds like this should warrant a lawsuit right?" said Su Jinyu.
Chen Mo said, "They've already made changes no? Look, obviously they've based it off Western Fantasy, and just 'referenced' some content from World of Azeroth, they wouldn't dare reference too much."
Su Jinyu was still unsatisfied, "Well, manager, does that we're not going to do anything?"
Chen Mo shook his head, "Of course not. Am I the type of guy to just take it? Hand the great Chen Mo his mobile phone, Goldfish."
Su Jinyu was shocked, "Huh?"
Chen Mo pointed at his phone on the table, "Over there."
SU Jinyu was speechless, "You're such a drama queen, manager. Couldn't you have done that yourself? And even went as far to refer to yourself in third person..."
Su Jinyu still walked the few steps to pass Chen Mo his phone.
Everyone was curious as to what Chen Mo was going to do. Was he going to start something that would benefit him again?
Chen Mo sent a Weibo with only a picture: Arthas's concept sketch.
After some thought, he added a sentence :"Always copied, never bested."
His Weibo basically followed Emperor Dynasty Entertainment's Weibo, with only a five minute gap between them.
The drama hungry fans were surprised upon seeing the Weibo!
They were about to start trash talking Emperor Dynasty Entertainment upon seeing their Weibo, but upon seeing Chen Mo's Weibo, all their attention was shifted!
Although Chen Mo only posted a picture and one sentence, the message was clear as day.
There were dozens of entries on the World of Azeroth on Arthas. Therefore, everyone knew that he was a key character in the world of Azeroth, a fact that even the drama waiting players knew.
Even without context, the art for Arthas was amazing in and of itself.
The design, the expression, the setting, and when combined with the skeleton horse and Frostmourne, there were only two words that could be used to describe it: Extremely handsome!
Compared to this sketch, the detailed artwork for Ain World was like a woman with heavy makeup. No matter how much foundation they put on, they were completely overshadowed by the beauty of Chen Mo's sketch!
The knockoff aspect became even more obvious.
Moreover, Chen Mo added a 'Always copied, never bested.' which he didn't need to.
Yeah, that rings so true!
Plants vs Zombies, I Am MT, or Thunderbolt Tabletop, no matter what theme, what genre, and no matter how good or ill of an intent the game had, the other designers would copy Chen Mo. It was starting to get hard to watch!
Moreover, Emperor Dynasty decided to copy the World of Azeroth now? That's a new level of ridiculous!
But looking back at Chen Mo's games, none of them were bested! No matter how they copied it, Chen Mo's next game would undoubtedly be better!


Chen Mo liked calling himself a video game designer, despite being a mere video game producer.
After dying one day from work-related stress, he transmigrated into a parallel world as himself, right after he graduated. He was now in the body of his younger self, who also aspired to be a video game designer.

As the title suggests, this section is of how I came up with this character. I'm doing this mostly cause I suck at writing and I can't come up with anything for the next chapter, so bear with it. I guess. No one's forcing you to.

This story goes back to a dark time in most people's life, high school. Ava didn't start out in her own world or her own story. She came out of a crappy Final Fantast 7 fan fic I came up with at some point. And her name was Eden at the time. Why? 'Cause I thought it sounded cool. The biggest reason she's female is because of how I grew up. I grew up in a mostly female household. My sisters always had control over the tv and movies and whatnot. So it was constant "girly" movies. Stuff like Mulan, Pocahontas, The Powerpuff Girls, Bratz and even Barbie. I never actually had a favorite Barbie movie, they were all torture. (Princess and the Pop Star. Fight me b****). Normally a young boy would hate this and would rather be watching Transformers or something, but not this guy. I liked these movies growing up. I discovered Final Fantasy around middle school and really enjoyed it. By the time I was in high school and, for some reason, decided to make a fan fiction and I made Ava. I automatically made her female because I grew up with badass female characters; Mulan, Pocahontas, Ripley, Wonder Woman, etc. So I wanted to make a character as awesome as they were. Originally I was going to make her more like one character that I had already come up with in middle school(still doing rewrites on that character to this day .-.). This was like peak emo phase so she was going to be extremely edgy. But then it hit me, none of my favorite characters were necessarily edgy. They had their dark moments, but they also had their charming and whimsical moments. So I strayed from making her too much like Elisa (that's the character). Back to business; after the whole fan fiction fiasco, I finally played a Final Fantasy (I did like Final Fantasy in middle school, but hadn't actually played one until high school). And that game was Final Fantasy 13, one of the worst in the series, but it is a guilty pleasure of mine. I got so into it that I researched as much as I could about 13 and found the whole Nova Chrysalis thingy. In the process I discovered Final Fantasy Type-0, a game out of the Nova Chrysalis mythology. It still hadn't received its western release, but I got my hands on a PSP emulator and downloaded a fan translation version of the game. Over time the FF7 fan fiction became a Type-0 fan fiction. It was then that I had finally named her Ava and in that fan fic she was actually one of the newest members of Class Zero. Throughout most of high school I kept that fan fiction until one day I thought to myself, why don't I make Ava her own thing? I didn't entirely scrap the fan fic however. If I somehow end up making more than one chapter, and if you've played Type-0, you'll notice that I kept a ton of elements from it, some stuff from 13, and some pretty heavy inspirations from Wonder Woman. Since then I've come up with my own things to add to her world expanding it as much as I can, but can't actually write any of it because it sounds better in my mind and when I finally write it I end up thinking "I am an insult to all writers out there". And that is her origin as a character. 

Small little bonus:
Sometime during my senior year I had gotten pretty decent at drawing so I researched all kinds of armor that I could apply to Ava. The female body has always been easier for me to draw so drawing Ava wasn't that much of a big deal (I once tried to draw Spider-Man, but I subconsciously drew a female so I ended up with Gwen Stacy's Ghost Spider instead). After much research on female armor I finally got down to drawing it. And it sucked. Bad. I did keep it though. Mostly because it's the only succesful one I've drawn and still use the armor design to this day. If I ever make it to the point when she gets her armor, describing it will be hell.

And I think that's about it. Toodles.
