when i was in Lincoln High School in Brooklyn New York City. I was the Son of New York and led the Lincoln High School to win the New York State Championship 2 years in a row (2001 and 2002)
In those two years, I got Mr. Basketball of New York 2 times, and the best high school student in the United States and i also got other honors.
Even the Owner of the New York Knicks joke about that once i participated in the draft the knicks will pick me.

When I arrived at my apartment, I put the gift inside the wood drawer near the door. Since Lucas hardly goes to my apartment, he wouldn't even notice the gift I got for him.

I hopped in the shower for a quick rinse. I don't like doing things around with a sweaty body. 

After a shower, I make myself a nice hot chocolate drink. Since I work from home, I gotta have a small office-like room in the apartment for work-related stuff. I turned on my computer and checked my emails. A few emails are from the publishing company and the rest are just spammed emails.

I quickly tick all the spammed emails and marked them as read. I go through the emails from the publisher one at a time. All are just publishing notifications EXCEPT for one. 

My eyes widened. OH. MY. GOD!

"Is this for real?" I muttered. I was overjoyed when I read the email.

It was beyond my imagination of being nominated as NY Best Selling Author. Like seriously? Am I dreaming right now?

I quickly dialed the publisher's number. It rang for a few seconds before the phone was picked up.

"Oak Archive Press, how may I help you?" the other person on the line said.

"Hi. It's Rylee. Is Mr. Mendoza in?" I asked.

"Oh hi, Ms. Wallis. Yes, he's here right now. Please hold on a second, I'll connect you to him," she said. 

"Thanks, Tiffany, " I said.

"You're welcome and congratulations, " she said and put me through the line to Mr. Mendoza.

Before I could even speak, Mr. Mendoza directly congratulates me. "Hope you're thrilled about the nomination! I sure am happy for you!"

"Thank you so much, Mr. Mendoza. I never thought my book could reach that level. I am beyond happy, " I said as I smiled.

"I knew it was only a matter of time. How about I treat you to dinner tonight to celebrate your success; and please just call me Flynn, " he said.

"Then dinner it is Mr. Mendo.....I mean, Flynn, " I said and chuckled.

"Okay then. It's settled. Meet you at 7 tonight at Little Italy, " he said.

"See you later, " I said as I ended the phone call.

After I hung up, I called my mom to tell her about the good news. It rang for a few seconds but it got disconnected right after. I became worried a bit. "That's weird. This is not like her," I muttered. I tried calling her phone again a few times but nobody picks up so I decided to call Aunt Lucy since she's living next door to mom. 

"Hello, dear. Is everything alright? Why are you calling me?" Aunt Lucy said.

"Hi, Aunt Lucy. Uhmmm..do you know where my mom is? She's not picking up her phone, " I said worriedly.

She let out a chuckled. "Oh dear, don't worry. Your mom is here with me right now. Her phone is charging right now. Do you want to speak to her?"

"Yes, please. Thank you, " I said and let out a sigh of relief.

As Aunt Lucy passed the phone to my mom, I could hear them laughing in the background.

"Hi, my princess. How are you?" my mom said.

"Hi, mom. I'm fine. I have news for you. Good news. Take a guess," I said emphasizing the word 'good'.

"Hmm..did Lucas got you pregnant?" she asked.

"Hahaha, no.....mom. He did not. Geez, it's still too early for me to carry a child in my belly, " I said while laughing my ass off and asked her to guess again. "Come on mommy, you can do better."

"Hmm are you?...hmm okay I give up. Tell me what is it?" she asked impatiently.

"Gosh, mom, you suck at guessing hahaha. Uhmmm, okay. I GOT NOMINATED AS NEW YORK BESTSELLING AUTHOR!" I said screaming.

I could hear my mom and Aunt Lucy also cheered in the background. I just smile in response. "Congratulations, " they said in unison.

"How about you come home for dinner tonight sweetie and we'll celebrate together, " my mom said happily.

"I can't. I have to meet up with the publisher tonight, " I said and frowned. I wanted to go home so badly because I miss my mom but I already promised Mr. Mendoza I'll join him for dinner. "Hmm..how about tomorrow night? I'll bring Lucas and we can have dinner together with the Wright household," I said, trying to persuade her.

"Okay then. Be here before six. I love you, sweetie, see you tomorrow," she said.

"Yes, mother. I love you too. Bye," and she hung up the phone.

I looked at the clock it's already half five in the evening and our dinner reservation is at seven. I don't have much time left to call Lucas and Daisy about this. Might as well tell them both tomorrow. 

"Things are going great. I can't ask for a better life," I muttered and smiled. I grabbed my towel and head to the shower.

In February 2019, BTS attended the 61st Grammy Awards as award presenters. It was their first time attending the event following an appearance by the group at the LA Grammy Museum in 2018.

In April, BTS became the first Asian act surpass 5 billion streams on Spotify, and Time named them as one of Time 100's most influential people of 2019. Their sixth EP, Map of the Soul: Persona, was released on April 12 with the lead single "Boy With Luv" (Korean: 작은 것들을 위한 시; Romanized: Jageun geotdeureul wihan si), featuring American singer Halsey.The EP's release was followed by a performance on Saturday Night Live, as the first Korean act to do so. The group's appearance was anticipated as one of the biggest in the show's history. Commercially, BTS reached new career heights. Map of the Soul: Persona became the first Korean-language album to reach the number one position in both the UK and Australia and the group's third consecutive album to top the Billboard 200 and the third within eleven months, joining the likes of the Beatles, who achieved the same in 1995–96. BTS are also the fastest group to get three number one albums since The Monkees in 1967. The EP became the best selling physical album in the US for the year of 2019, with 312,000 physical sales. Map of the Soul: Persona later became the best-selling album ever in South Korea, with more than 3.2 million sales in less than a month. Following their two wins at the 26th Billboard
Music Awards in May, including for Top Duo/Group, BTS embarked on their world tour stadium extension, Love Yourself: Speak Yourself, with dates in multiple stadium venues including Wembley Stadium, Stade de France, MetLife Stadium, Rose Bowl, and
Soldier Field. With this they became the first Asian and first non-English speaking artist ever to headline and sell out Wembley Stadium. Their concerts at Rose Bowl had broken the record for highest-grossing single engagement in the venue's Boxscore history, surpassing Taylor Swift's and U2's previous dates there. All dates sold out within two hours, with second dates for all venues added due to the high demand. During the tour, BTS performed on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and kicked off Good Morning America's 'Summer Concert Series' as headliners at Central Park in Manhattan. They also performed on the finale episode of The Voice and one of the semi-finals of Britain's Got Talent.

In the lead up to the release of their new mobile game BTS World set for June 2019, BTS released three collaboration singles, "Dream Glow" featuring English singer Charli XCX, "A Brand New Day" with Swedish singer Zara Larsson, and "All Night" featuring American rapper Juice Wrld. The band also released the song "Heartbeat" with a music video from the game's official soundtrack, titled BTS World: Original Soundtrack. The soundtrack was later certified Double Platinum by Gaon on August 8 for surpassing 500,000 copies sold, the first soundtrack album to receive the certification since Gaon implemented it last year. Developed by South Korean company Netmarble, the game was released on June 26 to iOS and Android systems in over 175 countries. BTS released their tenth Japanese single "Lights" on July 3. Pre-orders for the double A-side single surpassed 1 million copies, breaking a 24-year-old record for foreign artists previously held only by Celine Dion with her 1995 single "To Love You More", and marked the first time a Korean artist achieved a million shipment for a single in Japan. "Lights" went on to sell over one million copies and received Million certification by the RIAJ on August 8, the first time a male act achieved this since Masafumi Akikawa's August 2007 single, "A Thousand Winds". It is BTS' first million certification in Japan since their debut. 

Love Yourself: Her and Love Yourself: Tear  both crossed 2 million copies in August, and
Love Yourself: Tear was awarded Double Million certification by Gaon. It is BTS' second album to do so following Love Yourself: Answer's certification in October 2018. All three albums of the Love Yourself series have sold more than 2 million copies each in South Korea. Love Yourself: Tear later attained Silver in the UK, becoming their third album to be attain this certification following Love  Yourself: Answer and Map of the Soul: Persona.

In October, BTS performed at King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh, becoming the first foreign act to perform a solo concert in Saudi Arabia. For the final stop of their record-breaking Love Yourself: Speak Yourself World Tour, the band held a run of three sold-out nights at Seoul's Olympic Stadium to close this chapter of their story. According to Billboard's year-end Boxscore charts, the group grossed over $196 million and played to more than 1.6 million people across 42 shows in the chart period ranging from November 1, 2018 to October 31, 2019 and ranked third overall on the year-end Top 40 Tours chart behind Ed Sheeran and Pink. The group outgrossed legacy rock acts like the Rolling Stones, Metallica, and KISS, as well as fellow boy band the Backstreet Boys, making them the top-grossing touring group of 2019. That same month, the group released a remix version of the song "Make It Right" featuring American singer Lauv as the second single from their album Map of the Soul: Persona.

In November, BTS became the first K-pop group to win the Favorite Duo or Group – Pop/Rock at the 2019 American Music Awards and the Favourite Social Artist award  consecutively in 2018 and 2019.

In December, they attended both the 2019 Melon Music Awards and 2019 Mnet Asian Music Awards. The group became the first artist in the history of K-pop to receive all grand prizes from both ceremonies; getting four from each award show. At the end of the year, BTS ranked number fifteen on Billboard's year-end Top Artist Chart and were also the number two act of the year in the Duo/Group ranking, only behind Jonas Brothers. They were named as 2019 Hitmakers Group of the Year by Variety.They were also the most tweeted-about musicians of 2019. On December 31, 2019, BTS performed in New York City's Times Square for ABC's Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve. At the 34th Golden Disc Awards, BTS became the first artists in history to win grand prizes in both the physical and digital categories in a single year. Map of the Soul:.Persona was named the second best-selling physical album of 2019 in the U.S. by Nielsen Music only behind Taylor Swift's Lover and was ranked sixth overall on the chart of Top 10 Albums (Total Sales) in the U.S. BTS wrapped 2019 as the fourth most successful group on Billboard's Top Billboard 200 Artists - Duo/Group ranking, only behind Queen, Imagine Dragons and The Beatles.

With strong global sales of 2.5 million pure album units, Map of the Soul: Persona was named as the third best-selling album of 2019 by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry, making BTS the first Korean artist to be listed on the Global Top 10 Album Chart for two consecutive years. Map of the Soul: Persona was also the second best-selling global album by a band only behind Arashi's 5x20 All the Best!! 1999-2019. Attributing to the album's critical and commercial success worldwide, the IFPI named BTS as one of the best-selling artists of 2019 for a second consecutive year, making them the first non-English speaking act to achieve this.

The members of BTS are RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, Jungkook. Gaining recognition from their authentic, self-produced music and top-notch performances to the way they interact with their fans, the band has established themselves as global superstars breaking countless world records. One day later, Huang Xuan arrived in New York. He had taken a flight on Pan American World Airways (Pan Am), which had been the most important airline in America from 1930 to when it became bankrupt in 1991. In the 1930s, Pan Am was the biggest airline in the world, but at present, it was a delivery company that was just starting to add in passenger service.
The headquarters of Pan Am was in New York. In 1929, it had been the most popular stock at the New York Stock Exchange. Fortunately, it wasn't affected much by the depression. To Huang Xuan, taking a flight on Pan Am in 1931 felt special and unreal, as if he had become closer to this plane, to this point in space-time.
Pan Am named most of their planes as "Clipper". These planes traveled between states. The flight route from Detroit to New York was extremely important, the crew all wore formal navy uniforms, and in order to compete with ships and trains, Pan Am gave first class seats to almost all of its passengers. In modern times, such a seat would cost at least 8000 dollars, while Huang Xuan paid less than 100 dollars.
Due to the Great Depression, New York, like other large cities, looked depressed and dilapidated, as if it had just gone through a locust swarm, covering the sun in the shadows.
Huang Xuan had seen so much suffering during the depression that he had almost become immune to them, he wasn't a saviour. Time meant everything to him because he could stay in this plane for only seven more days. Even wasting a second would be shameful.
"Rolin, go find the printing factories nearby, especially the ones Edsel mentioned." Walking in the street of Manhattan, Huang Xuan was reluctant to ask anyone for directions, because he was annoyed and disgusted by the racism of America and the xenophobia of New York.
"You know it will waste a great deal of energy, don't you?" Rolin complained. "Searching for materials in a plane without data might cost at least a million units of energy."
"We're just looking for a factory, don't worry, you will be repaid." Huang Xuan didn't care about a few million units of energy.
"It will cost less if you can tell me more information. "
Huang Xuan grinned and said in a low voice, "Rolin, what do you think about us printing the banknotes by ourselves?"
"Here?" Rolin responded without any change in tone.
"Yes." Huang Xuan answered hopefully. It should be no problem to overcome the anti-counterfeiting technology of the 1930s. Huang Xuan was just worried about the after effects.
"I think it is feasible, but if you want me to retrofit the printers, it might cost tens of millions of energy."
Huang Xuan said immediately: "No problem!". After a moment, he spoke again: "Rolin, how about we print the banknotes back in P112?" 
"Bad idea." Rolin calmly said: "Destroying financial order would damage the buffer zone."
Although Huang Xuan knew Rolin would reject, since the 2nd objective is the safety of the plane, he still added: "We can increase the energy in the buffer zone, then wouldn't everything be okay?"
"No one can be sure how the buffer zone would recover the financial order. Certainly, it cannot do it by reducing the amount of currency available. Therefore, there will be inflation and economic crisis. Also, to reduce the buffer zone's loss, a direct energy strike maybe possible."
"What is a energy strike?" Huang Xuan was scared.
"For example, an earthquake or a thunderbolt with you as the target, would solve the problem easily."
"No way. The buffer zone in your mouth sounds magical." Huang Xuan was amazed.
"Natural law must be obeyed." Rolin sternly said: "The loss caused by printing banknotes in our plane will far surpass the returns. Printing banks notes will reduce the energy in buffer zone and we would need a strong defense at the base to stop the revenge from the buffer zone. This is a method often used by plane colonizer, if you don't care about the loss of P112, we can give it a try." 
Huang Xuan was disappointed. "I thought you were allied with the buffer zone," he muttered.
"Of course I am not. The energy in the buffer zone belongs to the plane itself. It is the foundation of the plane itself, while the base is the creation of humans, at most it is a powerful tool."
"What a shame! I thought I had a good idea."
"The banknotes in your time are all numbered. If we print a lot of banknotes with false or existing numbers, we will be exposed. Besides, P112 is our base area, we shouldn’t exploit it."

Since Leslie obtained the deposit so smoothly, he offered to pay the attorney fee and even agreed to a unreasonable request. He allowed Huang Xuan to try the factory for one week and to check the equipment. Of course, his deposit wouldn't be refunded no matter what. 
Huang Xuan didn't intend to buy Beta Factory, he just needed to use it for one week.
Hans (who was wearing an army uniform) unbelievably watched Huang Xuan spend 80,000 dollars just like that. While Leslie was talking to the attorney, he couldn't hold it and warned Huang Xuan: "Boss, we are in an economic crisis. Most factories are shutting down."
"I know." Huang Xuan liked Hans’ frankness. It was a pity for him that this German American couldn’t go back with him. He patted Hans’ shoulder and said, "I can keep this factory and sell it when its price goes up."

The current USA, is not like the 1980's, where each contract must be reviewed repeatly by the lawyers. Leslie just needed to get a already prepared contract, and the two bosses could complete the rest of the process.
Huang Xuan briefly scanned the contract and signed his name. The contract followed the fixed format. Starting from 1929, this type of contract had already been used countless times.
Leslie happily put away one copy of the contract, and gave another copy to the notary. Huang Xuan asked: "Are you going to sell the materials in the warehouse? Can you sell them to me?"
"I will give them to you." Leslie sounded generous, but what was left was just some some pulp and paper, worth less than 2000 dollars. Even if Huang Xuan didn't say anything, he would have left them for this adorable asian.
"Thanks a lot." Huang Xuan took 1000 dollars from the suitcase and said, "I know this is not enough, but this is all the cash I have."
"I said I would give them to you." Leslie was sincere.
"I know." Huang Xuan knew what he needed to do, he took 10 one hundred dollar bills, put it with the prepared purchase order and gave it to Leslie. "I also need some chemicals such as phosphoric acid and additives. I don't know anyone in New York, and I can't make you pay for everything. "
Leslie laughed, took the purchase order and said: "You found the right person, nowadays, there aren't many factories that can produce these things."

American banknote paper was made from paper corporations from the east. American law guaranteed them a degree of monopoly and cut off counterfeiting at the source. By law, it was illegal for anyone to be in possession of this type of paper, this paper that was different from all commercial papers.
One cannot make something out of nothing. Rolin could change the production and the printing method of the notes, but he could not produce the notes magically. It maybe possible according to Einstein's theories, but then each bill would cost billions. So, a factory that can produce its own pulp and paper is necessary.
30 workers were assigned to produce pulp and other basic products. Huang Xuan closed the door to the paper and printing workshops. He asked Hans to leave four people there to stand guard, he made it clear that the machines could be started only when he was there. Otherwise, even Mr. Leslie wasn't allowed in.
The veterans loyally carried out Huang Xuan's orders.
Leslie went home happily. In 1931, selling a factory was extremely hard, completely opposite of the situation 10 years prior.
Huang Xuan looked at the factory with some pride. The factory had a structure of bricks and stone, a big chimney and a dirty sewer. Now it was his. Even if the federal government wanted to search it, they must get a warrant first.

Every reporter and every fan were yearning to get a closer look at me. I walked on the red carpet smiling and waving. I'd flash my gorgeous gown-golden in color and my hair being styled by the most extraordinary stylists around.
But… that's not what happened. 
I've just arrived in New York City a month after the New Year, getting accustomed to the culture here and living in a new surrounding. I moved into an apartment just until I could find a decent place to stay. Coming here though, wasn't easy. It took me months to persuade my parents until they finally agreed one day, letting me to be on my own. 
I thought that it was a good change for a start. 
The culture in New York is a lot different than the traditions I saw back at home. Modern city lights lit up the streets and the weather was breezy early in the morning. "Don't you worry about me, young lady." The landlady said. "Why don't you go outside and enjoy yourself while I fix the pipes."
"When I do, you'll have the place to yourself. Hun." She smiled at me.
"Okay." I told her. I thought I'd familiarised myself in the city of the different places around. I took my bag with me and stashed a computer inside. I asked the landlady where I could go. "I'm still new here, I might need directions to go about the day, Mrs G." She was kind enough to tell me that I could hang around in Manhattan. "There is lots of things to do there, dear. I'm sure you could amuse yourself there.
I thanked her, went to my car and drove away to Manhattan.
I arrived to where many shops and leisure activities could be seen. I parked my car in a nice spot I found and walked along the streets like everyone else. The streets were filled with citizens walking about their day, some from work and others were just chilling outside. Shops were already opened up for business. I was very excited. What I found interesting was that many people were wearing similar long trench coats light brown in color, carrying their work bags with them to work. I thought I wouldn't be able to differentiate them at some point. Some gentleman wore hats on their heads, wore business suits-black in color from top to bottom along with black pants and they paired it with brown or black pointed shoes and the women would wear turtleneck tops with long flowing pants or just casual clothes, some wore simple and paired it with jeans. They also wore high heels with fashionable boots to match their clothes.
I passed many stores that sell goods such as bakery shops with all kinds of bread and cakes, grocery shops selling fresh fruits, restaurants, bookshops, accessories and fashion shops and many other stores. Looking at my surroundings, the city and the people, I was happy with my decision to move here. 
Just then, my stomach made a noise. Since I haven't had anything in the morning I went to a restaurant just around the corner. The restaurant looks small from the outside but the place inside is actually big with squared sized tables and modern chairs placed. I went inside as a small bell hanging on top of the door jingled a sound, to indicate a customer. I settled down near a glass window, looked through the menu and ordered a simple breakfast. Once settled, out of habit I looked around my surroundings.
Customers came through the door with jingling bells, waiters were busy attending to the customers needs. The atmosphere was really quiet as there were not many people around. There were pretty wall designs of colorful feathers of peacock hanging on the wall. The lightings were also bright with warm feels in it. In one corner of the room, there was a huge black bookshelf shaped like honeycombs and plant decorations placed in different sides of the corner. Amazed, I also saw a back door beside the bookshelves and curiosity striked.
My food came and I enjoyed the mini cakes and coffee they served and had my folders of job applicants scanned through carefully. Then I went to the back door which I had my eyes on earlier and stepped in.
To my amazement, there was a long table which looked antique along with chairs. A yellow sign had been displayed saying 'No touching' on it. It reminds me of 'Alice in Wonderland's' tea party. After my curiosity had found its end, I proceeded to the counter and paid for the bills.
By accident I bumped into someone and almost lost my balance. He held my arm as I steadied myself. "Oops, I'm sorry. Are you alright?" he said apologetically.
As I looked up, he seemed to be a young man in his 20s. He had stunningly handsome features and great body build. He wore a bright green sweater and ripped-off jeans. He also had orange-dyed hair bangs with charming eyes.
I was snapped back from his gaze and replied "I'm sorry, I wasn't looking at where I was going." Then he picked up the files on the floor and gave it to me. "And this must be yours" he smiled. He had a gentle smile on him despite his muscular body.
With the files now clutch in my hands, he introduced himself. "I'm Cyrus, what's your name?" He looked at me. "Nice to meet you, I'm Lia." "I see that you're looking for a job? He smiled again. Hesitating, "Yes, how do you know?"
He then took out a wallet from his pocket and gave me a business card, then said "Just so happens, we're a little short of hand in our company and we're looking for an assistant. The details are all written in the card. I hope you consider the job." I looked at him, confused. "Um… I'll think about it" feeling unsure. "Great! We'll keep in touch." And he left.
I bought some groceries at a grocery store then headed home, flopped my bag down and cooked dinner. Then I plopped myself comfortably on the sofa in front of the TV. Thinking of the events that came up today, I took out my laptop and saw a bunch of messages from Minhyuk, my best friend.
We have been good friends since middle school and supported me when I told him that I wanted to move away.
Minhyuk : Hey, my old friend! How's New York? Did you meet anyone? You have to tell me!
Lia : It's been alright, so far. I miss you too. New York's great! And I'm still on the hunt for a job. Also I met someone today while I was out. I bumped into a man and to my surprised, he gave me a business card and a job offer.
Minhyuk : Wow! You must've hit the jackpot, didn't you?
Lia : No way! I was just lucky. (Trying to sound sarcastic)
Minhyuk : We'll see more when I'm there. Because right now, I'm packing.
Lia : Packing? Why?
Minhyuk : To see you, of course! And anyway you should call him and find out. You don't get chances like that so often.
Lia : Alright, see you then.
I logged off my computer and decided to watch my favourite thriller series of a detective show 'Mysteries of Nancy Drew', enjoying myself with a cup of hot tea.
The next day, I prepared myself. Got my belongings and ready to head out. My first stop was to go to the airport to meet with Minhyuk. I parked my car at the waiting area when he sent a text saying he's almost there. So I stopped by a coffee shop to get myself boosted a little. As I paid for my coffee, I felt a hand tapping my shoulders giving me a tiny jump. I turned to my side and standing there was Minhyuk, smiling like he always does.
"Hey! You get scared so easily you know. It's been so long, I really miss you! I want to hear all about this place soon."
By this time he turned hyper and full of excitement. We got to a restaurant and told him all about my stay in New York.
As snacks, drinks, laughter and precious times went by, finally Minhyuk brought up the actual topic regarding my job.
"So, you bumped into this stranger and got yourself a job?"
"Yes! Come to think of it, it's pretty amazing how the opportunity just came to me. And I also need money as well"
"Like destiny" he smirked. "So when did you say to meet him?"
"I didn't, but he did give me his card" shoveling through my bag. Without hesitation, he struck up and said "You should definitely give it a try. You wouldn't know."
At last, it was getting late and I insisted that my best friend stay at my place.
I'm roaming about in the city of New York, getting accustomed to the culture and seeing things in a new place. I just moved here last month and got settled in an apartment. It wasn't easy convincing my parents that I want to move out, to be independent. It took me months until they finally agreed.

Looking at my surroundings, the city and the people, I thought that this could be to a fresh new start for me.

Lia arrived in New York City with a chance to start her new life all on her own, independently. There she met a famous designer who offered her a job.

Cyrus had a very private personality and is always difficult to be in contact as he is always in the public eye. When they do meet, it doesn't always end happy. The feelings Lia had towards Cyrus had been neutral. Unfortunately, not to him.

Through her best friend Minhyuk's encouragement, she accepted the offer after some thought. However she realised that being an assistant was not easy. She had bad treatment from her colleagues- always ordering her to do their work, making her stay overnight. She became friends with two photographers, Kihyun and Hyungwon and in times of trouble they had always helped her where conflict also came between Ivy, a model who works in the company as well. She almost wanted to quit. 

But then things took a turn. She encountered Mr Fabian by chance. Fabian landed her with another job as a model which she thought could be her ticket to escape from her colleagues as well as her "rival" with Ivy.

Lia had no idea her arrival in New York would be so dramatic!
After getting to know Fabian more the two had attracted each other like sparks flying. He had stirred her deepest pleasures and desires. Somehow she felt safe in his arms.

He picked up his phone and kissed the screen. It was close to four million dollars in savings.
He counted as a rich person now, right?
Of course, the happiest thing was that Laurent finally scrammed.
Finally, no one would disturb his two-person world with Fali.
Just then, Rasfa called. "Chen, did you get the transfer?"
"Yes, thank you, Rasfa."
"Ha… You gained money and I gained connections. In the end, I gained without giving anything. I got a lot just with the Purple Brew."
Chen Zhao knew that, in this world of interests, one had to pay to make money.
He couldn't make Rasfa promote the wine without doing anything.
Of course, he could, but it would cost feelings.
He would have to pay that back too. No one was required to pay or sacrifice for someone else.
If Chen Zhao relied on his own connections, he mostly only knew regular people.
Even though he had Risfar and Dell, he couldn't sell them wine every day.
Dell was rich, but he couldn't take all those expenses either.
As for Risfar, it was the same. It would affect their relationship if he sold his own stuff to them for such a high cost.
After ending the call with Rasfa, Zola's call came in.
"Zola, did you discuss it with your dad to call right after him?"
"You were talking with Rasfa? No wonder I couldn't get through."
"Is something wrong?"
"I can't call you just because I want to?"
"Sure, of course."
"Can you lend me Princess for a few days?" Zola asked.
"See, you do need something," Chen Zhao teased.
"Will you lend me her or not?"
"If you need Princess, you can come and take her the day of and return her the day of too. Why do you need her for a few days?"
"Actually, I need to go to New York."
"Oh? When?"
"June 20 to 25," Zola said. "My brand is opening up a new business in New York. There's a fashion show."
"I'm going to New York on June 21st too."
"Oh? It would be even better if you can come."
"No, no. I won't go to the fashion show. It's too repressive to Fali and I."
"Fine." Zola was slightly disappointed. "What are you doing in New York?"
"Going to see the New York leg of the Diamond League race."
"You like track?"
"No, my friend is competing."
"Oh. How about we go to New York together?"
"Sure, but how will we transport Princess? She doesn't like to be in a cage."
"We'll just borrow Rasfa's private jet," Zola said. "Oh, I'll have Tris, Nat, and Cooper go over to you in a few days. They'll call when they go."
"This isn't necessary, right? Fali and I don't need clothes."
"You're overthinking. It's for Princess, not you. She's going to take part in the fashion show, so she obviously needs her own tailored outfit."
"Oh, yeah."
Chen Zhao really did think too much.
But he had to admit that Tris, Nat, and Cooper were talented in fashion design.
Even though his and Fali's clothes had been hanging in the closet ever since that day, both the suit and gown were very beautiful.

But he didn't think he would get Winnip's call. "Chen, are you busy?"
"No, Winnip. How are you?"
"Laurent came back. He said a lot of bad things about you."
"Ha… Laurent loves joking around."
Winnip knew that Chen Zhao and Laurent didn't have a good relationship.
Of course, she wouldn't go ask about them either.
"Chen, the wine that you had Laurent bring back is great."
"If you like it, then I'll send you two bottles the next time I produce more."
"Have you thought about selling the wine in my supermarket?"
"Uh…no…" Chen Zhao said honestly.
What kind of place was a supermarket? It had a small profit but a quick turnover rate.
There were some luxury items, but the highest price was only a few ten thousand dollars.

"I considered three points. First, this allows regular people to learn about the Purple Brew. Even if they don't get a chance to taste it, if you put it in my supermarket, they'll be able to see the bottle and produce many fantasies about it. Second, it'll obviously attract more customers. Third, it's the most direct benefit. You'll supply my supermarket a collector's edition of the Purple Brew and set a price that no wealthy person would buy. Chen Zhao considered it. "You said to set a price that no wealthy person would buy. What price is that?"
"Ninety-nine million nine hundred and ninety-nine thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine dollars."
One hundred million dollars!! No wonder Winnip said no one would buy it.
Even people he knew, like Rasfa or his own mother, wouldn't pay for that.
Instead of something to be sold, it was more like an artifact.
But then, Chen Zhao got another idea.
What if he combined the Purple Brew with the Spring of Youth? Would that combined effect qualify for that number?
He could try the effect first.
"Winnip, I can't give you an answer now. I have to modify the wine. I can't just change the label and multiply the price."
"Chen, no one will buy it anyway."
"But what if someone does? What if the customer finds out that the collector's edition is the same as regular Purple Brew? This isn't a regular name-brand bag. This is 100 million dollars. If someone really bought it, it would be a huge blow to your supermarket and the Purple Brew. I don't want to take this risk."
"Fine, but are you sure you can raise the value of the Purple Brew ten times higher?"


Chen Zhao can summon demons and see Death.

“Beelzebub, use your Gluttony ability to treat this patient’s anorexia.”

“Raymond, this old man wants to regain his manly function. You know what I mean.”

“Blackie, tell me honestly, when and how is this person going to die... What? You don’t know? You’re the Grim Reaper!”

“That lady wants bigger breasts, a prettier face, and a slimmer body. Wait... I don’t have any demons with these subordinate abilities yet. Seems like I need to make another trip to Hell.”"


Conner's POV

After spending a pleasant time with Susan and reminiscing about childhood, Conner could not be happier. And with some unresolved feelings from the past, it seems like he sees her differently now, probably more than a best friend.

He is content in having her back in his life. It feels like everything is working out finally.

'Seeing Susan so free and relaxed after ages is an inexplicable joy. I can deeply feel that I got my Susie back, we get along like old times. I just want to her to be happy ALWAYS!'

A few moments later, a knock is heard on the door and I see blonde hair attached to Valerie as she pops her head in. "Hey," she said.

"Come on in," I smile putting aside some work documents on the table.

"Thanks." She came in and sat on a chair in front of me.

"What a coincidence," I disclosed.

"Huh?"

"I was about to call you," I explained raising the phone in my hand for emphasis.

She chuckled and dramatically said, "And here I am."

I smiled and placed the phone down. "Yeah," I said.

She narrowed her eyes at me. "You seem chipper, any reason?" She raised a brow.

My eyes widened a bit and I felt my throat tighten at the inspection. I coughed a bit, pulling my collar loose. "No! Not at all," I mustered a smile.

She shrugged. "Ok," she said in an unconvinced tone giving me an 'I don't believe you' look.

"So what would like?" I asked after clearing my throat.

"A shake please, I am a little hungry." She remarked.

I laughed, "okay, I'll order." I quickly picked up the phone and said, "please send two strawberry shake in my office."

"So what are you up to?" She asked after we had finished our drinks fifteen minutes later.

"You know the usual. . . Work and all," I shrugged and said as I took in her pale appearance. She doesn't look so good.

"Anything I can help with?" 

"New project from New York, remember, it's ON!" I exclaimed with a wide smile.

"What, really?" She asked and  bounced excitedly on her chair.

"Yes! I was trying to set up a meeting from a few weeks back and finally got a reply," I responded with much enthusiasm.

"That's great!" Valerie exclaimed.

"Yeah! Meeting will be held in New York and hopefully we can discuss the contract," I explained and smiled.

"You will nail it, congrats!" She nodded.

"Thanks!"

"So when are you be going?"

"Probably in a week or two," I shrugged and she hummed in response. "Do you want to join?" I asked after staring at her for a beat.

"I won't be able to. . . You know," she gave a small shrug, hanging her head and replied rather vaguely. Perhaps I should ask her about it, I thought.

"Hey, do you feel any better?" I questioned.

She sighed and raised her eyes to glance at me. "Nah, not really!" She chuckled dryly.

"You know you can share anything with me," I said in reassurance.

"I know," she sighed.

I stood up from my chair on my side and walked over to hers, taking a seat beside her.

"Does it have anything to do with Ethan?" I queried. Ethan is her troubled boyfriend for the past two years.

"Don't! I really don't want to talk about him," she frowned.

"Oh!" So I was right. "What happened?" I placed a hand on top hers.

"I broke up with him," she disclosed.

I gasped. "You have?"

"You were right, he was a mistake!" She cried and broke into tears and I moved closer to her.

"Hey! Please don't– don't cry. He is not worthy of your tears!" I said trying my best to console her.

"I know, I just-- when you invest so much in a relationship and it doesn't work out– it just– it hurts," she stammered and cried the more.

I know the feeling all too well. "I can relate to that. You should have broken up with him earlier, the pain might have been less." I pulled her into an embrace.

"I was a fool to think it could work." She sniffed.

"You aren't! We can't control our emotions all the time," I shook my head slowly.

"They enslave us," she added.

"Hmm. You are going to undo that, and never look back." I said as I gently rubbed her back.

"I will," she sighed.

A few moments of silence passes before Valerie spoke up, "thanks for listening." She wipes her puffy face with the back of her palms.

"Hey, what are friends for?" I smiled.

She rolled her eyes at my comment. "Why are you so sweet?" She grinned.

I smirked at her and said, "can't help it!" She giggled at my response. "Just keep on smiling okay?" I added.

"Okay!"

"I am always there for you."

"I know."

"Everything will be okay, just give it time."

"Yeah."

Susan's POV

After having an intense meeting with Andrew, Susan stayed in the office think about the upcoming days.

'I had no clue Andrew would show up instead of Aunty Malinda. It got a little difficult to convince him.' I thought to myself. I know that he thinks it's an ordinary company which is at loss, but not for me.'

My dad literally dedicated his whole life for this, and I will not let him down! I will just have to manage everything on my own because I can't bear the thought of selling it all.

A deep sigh escapes my lips.

After a while, I pulled myself together and decided to head home.

I arrived two hours later and told my mum briefly about what transpired at the meeting with Andrew. But I spared her the gloomy details so as not to worry her. Then I decided to call it a night because I was exhausted.

Running a company certainly takes its toll on you, believe me when I say it isn't easy at all, because it's not.

When I was all set up to sleep, I received a call from New York office and it was my boss, 'Sam.' He discussed his concerns related to my absence from the office and my delay in the current projects.

The discussion went on for about half an hour before he finally agreed to my terms while I, on some of his. I can work with the company for more four to six months without being physically present but only on one condition, that the running projects will not suffer.

But I would still need to visit the office on call for meetings. There is a meeting coming up and I have to make a plan for New York, till then I can wrap up some important tasks here.

'Meeting with the financial analyst is crucial. I will get it done tomorrow.' I pondered as I sat at the edge of my bed. Before leaving I will hand over a few things to the operation manager that he has to deal with.

I am sure he is a capable person to manage on my absence. "Maybe I should keep Conner in the loop?" I questioned myself. I will meet him tomorrow.

A wide yawn passes my lips and I groaned. I should better sleep before I collapse tomorrow, it's a big day ahead.

Tragedy has a way of bringing people together!

"These people are dangerous, how can your friend help?"

"You don't know Radhika the way I do, you don't know what she is capable of, let me tell you how we met, how she saved me from human trafficking?"

The past

Radhika and I were best friend since we were babies, my father Tardesh worked with uncle Dilip in his Mishra Market, my mother had cancer when I was 5 year old, it was Radhika that stood with me on my worse day when I lost my mother, since then she has become my best friend.

When I stayed at Mishra's house for sleep over, I notice that Radhika talking in her dream, "you killed me Shanti Devi, I will get my revenge one day, you just wait and watch."

"Radhika wake up."

"Hah, what's wrong Nina?"

"You tell me Radhika, who is Shanti Devi?"

I don't know, maybe someone that I made up in my dream."

I believe her that it was just a dream, but when I was 15, she had saved me and the other girls from human trafficking that was run by Shanti Devi, I wouldn't have found out the truth if one of the man wasn't talking on the phone, he mention her name, Shanti Devi, that was the day I remember Radhika having that dream.

Anyways when I was rescued and safe at Mishra's house, I ask her again who Shanti Devi was to her and this time not to say that she is pretend because I knew she was real and that she is the one kidnapping innocent girls, Radhika told me.

"First pinky promise me you won't tell anyone."

"Okay pinky promise I won't tell anyone, now tell me the truth, how do you know Shanti Devi?"

"Do you believe in recarnation this is my second birth and it is the truth, in my first birth Shanti Devi was my sister. My evil sister, who took my life, so she could become Raj Oberoi's wife."

"She never did Raj took his life and came to heaven with me."

Radhika told Nina what happen to her parents in the past, why she came back for revenge?"

"I've been stopping her selling drugs and human trafficking, I've covered my track, she doesn't know I am the rectifer who is destroying her."

"Radhika your very unique, one thing I know If I'm ever in trouble you'll always be there for me."

"Even if we are far, remember I will always be there when you need me."

Present

"My father arrange my marriage and then I moved to New York with my husband that was the last time I saw her, when she called me it was a sign from God that Radhika was the key for helping us find my daughters murderer."

"The way you talk about Radhika, she must be very special to you."

I would have become a prostitute by force if Radhika didn't save me so yeah she is very special to me."

"She is indeed special, I would like to meet her."

"She is coming with her rectifers."

"Can't wait to meet her."

Today Radhika had called all the receiver for a meeting.

Samaira asked, "Radhika what's going on, why are we all here?"

"We all are going to New York to solve a murder of my best friend's daughter. My best friend Nina and I were both born in Reshkesh, we were friends until teenager, she got married and moved to New York, we were out of touch but recently her brother-in-law Sanjay got a message from New York, to make it short that's how I found my friend, and she needs us to solve her daughter's murder."

Teji asked, "How did she died?"

"What Nina told me is that she was murdered and raped, the original report was destroyed, they kidnap the doctor's family and gave Nina the fake report saying that she suicide."

Gauri said, "Do they still have the body, I could do her daughter's autopsy again."

"Yes, I will make sure Nina gets your message."

Jai said to his wife Gauri, "Gauri I don't think you should go to New York, since you are pregnant."

"You'll be with me, nothing will happen to the baby, besides I will leave after Nina gets justice, I just want to do this for her."

Radhika said, "I will make sure Gauri leaves with you after the autopsy."

"No Radhika, I want to be there until justice is served for that innocent girl."

"No buts you are leaving with your husband after the autopsy, your number one concern should be your baby, I will keep you updated on this case."

"Okay then I'll leave after the autopsy."

Jai says, "Thank you Radhika."

"Your welcome, does anyone have any concern about the case."
