Here is another kid's story I wrote. I was asked to write again. This one is about a girl whose room was always dirty and trash on the floor. But what she didn't know was there was a trash monster under her bed. SCARY!!!! If you don't clean your room, you'll get a visit from the trash monster.

while Takashi runs out from his toilet window and went to find Kobayashi Yui for her kidnapped her but Martin is waiting for me outside the old studio and so creepy looking from inside the studio.

Takashi: Martin are you ready to kill some monster

Martin: yes I'm sure

Takashi: okay ready to kill him

Martin: okay go

They went inside and go to the top of the studio rooftop and suddenly they saw Kobayashi Yui is lying down but out of sudden the monster appears in front of them just looking at Martin and Takashi.

Takashi: let her go!!

Martin: did you bring the sliver gun sir

Takashi: of course I bring the sliver gun with me along

Monster: shut up!! Both of you

Takashi: what did you want to do with us

Monster: nothing but I will do to her in front of you guys

Martin went jump down off the rooftop and the monster just looking at his friend was so scared to fight back.

Takashi: Martin what are you doing?

Martin: trust me I got an idea

Takashi: what it is?

Martin: I can't tell you but wait for my signal

Takashi: okay I trust you

Martin: alright

Monster: so you are her girlfriend

Takashi: no she is my friend

Monster: I'm just asking

Later Martin has a great idea but he must do something so dangerous idea and he appears behind him and he uses his reading mind into his mind voice.

Martin: Takashi can you hear me

Takashi: yes I can hear you

Martin: I bring my gun but this gun needs to shot you, sir

Takashi: just do it

Martin: but what if I shot you later Morita will upset by me shooting the gun at the behind you sir

Takashi: I am immortal remember

Martin: sorry I didn't know that

Later Martin shooting Takashi and with the monster's chest and he disappeared in front of him but his soul is going to heaven in the sky.

Martin: Takashi sir are you okay?

Takashi: I'm okay but can you help me carry Kobayashi

Martin: sure

He carries a Kobayashi body and went home to her house and give back to their parent's house that they miss her daughter.

Mom: thank you so much

Dad: thanks for your help

They went inside with her daughter and Martin goes to another work with others but Takashi went home to see Morita what is she doing in the living room with others too.

Takashi: I'm home Run-chan *weak*

Morita: welcome home Nisan

Morita looking at Nisan with a worried look just everyone is already left but only Inoue, Karin, Takemoto, and Tamura only here to see Senpai return home.

Morita: Nisan are you hurt?

Takashi: yea it hurt like hell

Tamura: let me help you Senpai

Takashi: thanks

Takemoto: what happened to you??

Takashi: it was a short story but I can tell a long story if you want to hear it

Tamura: please we want to listen to what just really happened

Takashi: okay

He just sits next to Morita who is doing my wound and warp with a bandage on my left arm.

Takashi: why I run out of the house is me and Martin went to help Kobayashi Yui she was missing and so that we help her and Martin accidentally shot me with a silver gun through my left arm but don't worry about it I'm an immortal

Morita: all done

Takashi: thanks but I need to rest for tomorrow if anything happened or help just call me I will be there

Tamura: noted

Inoue: Kobayashi Senpai is safe right

Takashi: yea she is safe and sound

Karin: we should go home now

Morita: thanks for coming guys

Tamura: no problem see you

They went home and just left Morita and Takashi in the living room.

Meanwhile, at Kobayashi's house, she was sleeping but she had to wake up. She needs to pack her suitcase because she had a trip with Sugai Yuka and her mother allow her friend to her house for a tour around Sugai Yuka's house.

Kobayashi: what to bring for tomorrow?

Suddenly Kobayashi's phone ring and she answer it.

Kobayashi: hello?

Takashi: hello Yui it's me, Morita Hikaru, brother

Kobayashi: Takashi Senpai??

Takashi: yes!

Kobayashi: why are you calling me in the middle of the night

Takashi: just don't go to Sugai Yuka house tomorrow

Kobayashi: why?

Takashi: I got a bad feeling about tomorrow

Kobayashi: are you sure?

Takashi: trust me okay please don't go

Kobayashi: okay I trust you I will not go but can I see you tomorrow morning

Takashi: sorry I can't see you but you can come to my house

Kobayashi: why? Are you hurt or something happened

Takashi: I had an accident on my left arm

They ended their call and Morita went upstairs to her room and the same with Takashi also go to his room and sleep until the next morning.

In the meantime, Martin finish his work very well and left for his house and tomorrow he can call Takashi about what he was up to his coming save everyone life but the rest of the people didn't know about his true identity but only the 2nd generation of Sakurazaka46 know his true identity and went he want to tell the half of the members.

Martin: Takashi sir can hear me

Later in Takashi's room and out of a sudden, he heard Martin's voice on his mind and try to connect to him.

Takashi: Yes Martin I can hear you

Martin: you tell the truth about yourself to the 2nd generation but when you want to tell the other half of the members

Takashi: later Martin not now I just need some time or space to think

Martin: okay if you are ready to tell the other just tell Morita to meet with all people who work at the studio plus Sawabe too

Takashi: sure okay good night bro

Martin: good night sir

They ended their reading mind and both Martin and Takashi went to sleep and wait for his to talk to Kobayashi Yui the truth about me and she needs to keep a secret about his true identity with everyone who had to save from him and he always injured on his arm to save the Sakurazaka46 members.

Takashi is saving the most famous idol group which people called Sakurazaka46 and one by one they were saved by a mystery guy wearing a suit with his good looking handsome man.

"Have a cup of tea." said Ye Feng, a young man who had just finished the last semester of his second year of high school. Ye Feng was a handsome chap but in this society where strength was king, his good looks didn't matter. He was decent in height, standing at six feet, with a build that was neither thin nor was it overly large. If he took off his clothes, one would be able to see his muscles that were brimming with power and explosiveness.

In front of the said young man, was someone filled with anger, so much that a blue vein was visible on his forehead. Obviously, something had caused the person to become angry to such an extent. Trying to calm him down, Ye Feng poured the person a cup of piping hot tea and placed it gently on the table.

The angry young man who was about the same age as himself picked up the cup of tea and brought it to his mouth as he took a sip from it. Instantly, the blue vein on his forehead disappeared as well as his anger. "Ye Feng, your tea is as effective as always." the young man who had now calmed down praised.

"Be careful, if you keep getting angry, your veins may explode." Ye Feng replied, taking back his cup of tea. "I wish I could, those d*mned people from Jing City Second High keep injuring my brothers, one of these days, I will go and beat them up." the young man said. He quickly left soon afterward, leaving Ye Feng behind by himself in the clubroom.

Taking a sip from his tea, Ye Feng looked outside the window as a large bird with fiery red wings and a small flame on its head landed on a nearby branch outside the window of the clubroom. This was a world inhabited by both humans and Monsters.

Over a hundred years ago, something happened to the planet Earth. A strange phenomenon that turned animals, insects, and the likes in maneating beasts called Monsters. A strange source of energy was the cause of this incident. The strange phenomenon was thought to be the revival of Spirit Energy in the world, granting humans the ability to form contracts with Monsters and integrating their powers into the human body.

Not only that, 'Dungeons' started appearing all over the world, which comes randomly, but doesn't go away until they are cleared. From the dungeons, if they are not cleared after a number of years, Monsters could sometimes leave the Dungeons and attack the human inhabitants.

Dungeons were categorized in ranks by the energy they produced. From F rank, up to SS rank. With rank F being the lowest and rank SS being the highest. In history, there had only been a single SS rank Dungeon, while no more than ten S rank Dungeons exist to this day.

This caused humanity to bring about new occupations after countless years of humans forming contracts and interacting with Monsters to be able to integrate their powers into the human body.

The most chosen occupation that took a hundred years of work to research was called a Monster Trainer. Monster Trainers formed contracts with Monsters, in which both sides must be willing before the contract between them could be formed. That was only the beginning, one must have the required Spirit Power in order to form a contract before this process could even happen.

After forming the contract, one would then need to train their Monsters from infancy to adulthood. Every step of the way required resources and hard work. From teaching Monsters how to dodge, or even how to attack and use abilities in which the Monsters would naturally learn overtime during their growth.

For Monsters to reach adulthood, it would normally take at least fifty years from infancy. By forming a contract with a human who had Spirit Power, both human and Monster alike would grow faster. Monsters also ate food just as humans did, only, they ate different kinds of food that humans cannot eat. The food they ate was either grown by human hands or naturally grown in habitats that used to be owned by humans. From large volcanoes and forests, they appeared in the middle of the city, causing humans to build cities around such places, keeping far away so that they wouldn't be attacked.

From childhood, humans would learn all about Monster Training even up until the day they died. It was something that could never stop. In high school, the first two years took that beyond middle school and elementary school, while only in their third and final year would a Monster Trainer be able to contract a Monster.

Upon reaching the third year, there would be many students who would decide on their future course. Monster Trainer, Monster Breeder, Monster Cultivator, and the likes were amongst the many occupations. To become a Monster Trainer, one's Spirit Power must have reached a minimum of 1.0 in order to safely form a contract with a Monster.

Of course, it was possible to contract one with a Spirit Power below 1.0, but this was dangerous as one may experience a Spirit Power rebound which directly shocks the brain, turning someone into a vegetable, this was only the lucky side. If one was unlucky, they would directly be sent to meet King Yama down in the underworld. Of course, it was debatable whether dying was better than being a person in such a state.

In this world, Water-type, Wood type, Bug type, and Earth type Monsters were amongst the most common types of Monsters. Water types could be found in rivers, lakes and the likes, while the other three could be found literally anywhere. Fire and Thunder types were rare, only being found in volcanic or areas filled with lightning, which there weren't many of.

As for Wind types, they were in between common and rare types. They could be found on windy days, but only if the wind was strong enough. On some days, one might never see one, while on the days of storms, they could be as common as clouds.

Light and Dark types, as well as Ghost and Psychic types were extraordinarily rare. They were only found in certain environments and habitats and their numbers were also incredibly low. Breeding such types of monsters was also many times harder than breeding other types.

There were also Ice and Metal types which were also pretty rare. In simple words, there were common and rare species of Monsters to be found. 

Monster Integration. Only by forming a strong bond with one's contracted Monster and reaching the required Spirit Power, would one be able to integrate with their Monsters. Flying, breathing fire, such superhuman powers were all possible with Monster Integration, as well as Spirit Power. 

All of this knowledge took over a century's worth of dedication and sacrifice of the ancestors. However, none of this had anything to do with Ye Feng. Why was this so? Well, one would have to go back in time by about three months.

On a bright and sunny day, Ye Feng was in the clubroom enjoying a freshly brewed cup of tea. Suddenly, he felt a sharp pain in his chest, making him grip his chest and clench while beads of sweat dripped down the sides of his forehead. When he was better, suddenly the world had changed.

The world he once knew where Maths, Science, History, and the likes were no longer taught as the main subjects in school. Now, Monster Training related subjects were instead taught as compulsory and main subjects.

As he came to, he could recall all of his memories of his previous world, which was slightly different from this world he woke up to. He wondered if he was under the effect of the Mandela Effect, giving him false memories of this old world he was in.

At that time, he found that the entire world was completely different, and he had no common knowledge that even four-year-old kids may have. As an avid reader of web novels, manga, novels, and the likes, he couldn't stand having any knowledge of this new world. Besides that, he would also need knowledge in order to maintain his perfect grades in school.

In the past, he had been quite popular with both men and women alike. With good looks, a strong body that was good at all kinds of physical activities, on top of having perfect grades and an enigmatic memory, there was almost nothing that Ye Feng couldn't do.

He found that other than the world itself changing, the people he knew, as well as schools, cities, etc were all the same as in the previous world. His relationship with them hadn't changed, but those he knew in school treated him differently from what he was used to.

Since the world had changed, good looks and strong athletic ability didn't mean anything. Only strength mattered, anything else was secondary. Though athletic ability was a must in Monster Training, it was less important than Spirit Power. He found himself to have fewer people who talked to him, but this didn't bother him at all.

Spending an entire three months, he painstakingly memorized everything from elementary to even university-level content that was related to this world. Not only did he memorize everything, but he also summarized it all and kept the relevant information separate from the less important information. Now, he had enough knowledge of this new world to survive.

While Ye Feng was looking out the window, his phone vibrated in his pocket. Checking his phone, he found that someone had texted him on the Q* app. Opening the app, he found that it was written by his best friend.

'Big boss, tomorrow is the day of our Spirit Power evaluation test. Since it's you, it's almost certain that you will meet the requirement, but let's hope we both pass and become Monster Tamers.' the message read.

Tapping the keyboard, Ye Feng replied after taking a sip of tea. The day of the Spirit Power evaluation test was the next day. If his Spirit Power met the requirement of 1.0, then he would be able to contract a Monster and become a Monster Trainer or Tamer. If he failed, then he could only risk his life, or give up and go into other occupations.

Monster Tamers were an important occupation. Going into Dungeons and protecting the human race was their job. It was a high-risk job that had high returns. Monster Tamers could die at any time if they were not careful, but at the same time; they earned the most money.

There was a saying, money can solve all problems. If it couldn't, then it means one didn't have enough money. Money made the world go round. It was as simple as that.

While it was a high return occupation, the initial costs far outweighed future earnings. Even the cheapest of Monsters costs at least 200,000 Yuan, which is roughly $29150 USD, one could buy a car with that amount. Not only that, the cost of food and training for Monsters wasn't cheap either, even the cheapest and lowest quality foods cost 1000 Yuan per box, which was twenty-four meals. Monsters also ate three meals a day, which meant twenty-four meals was only a week and a days worth of food for them, not even counting the nutrients for Monsters to grow, as well as nutrients for humans to grow their Spirit Power on top of that.

Spirit Power could be cultivated over time, but it was a slow method on its own. Only by drinking special fluids called S Serum, on top of cultivating Spirit Power, would it increase at a faster pace over time. Of course, this also depended on talent. Even the most expensive S Serum cannot help if one was extremely untalented.

Ye Feng's family was middle class, which could afford the fees he required while having extras for hobbies and spending. Of course, this didn't mean he could be a wastrel and step all over his parent's hard work. He didn't know whether he would pass the test but kept himself calm and composed and he looked outside the window.

After some time had passed, Ye Feng tidied up the clubroom and headed home. Jing City Seventh High wasn't that far from his house. It was only a twenty-minute walk, which he could be home in five or less if he ran. When he started heading home, it was already evening and the sun was starting to set.

On the way home, Ye Feng was walking home like he usually did, without disturbing anybody. Suddenly, he felt a presence ahead of him, and if wasn't just one. A black shadow passed by in the blink of an eye and disappeared, while a second shadow had passed in front of him.

"Ouch!" he cried out in pain, as blood dripped down from his right hand. Whatever had passed by had injured him, causing his hand to bleed. He was almost home already at this point, so he held onto his hand to slow down the bleeding and hurried home. What he didn't notice, was that a single golden drop of blood was on his hand, and started to mix together with his own blood.

"Are you ready? " 

"Yes. "

Starting today, Amelia will accompany me to work. 

"Let's go. "


While we were on our way to work, I've noticed that people were staring at Amelia. 

"Hey, is this really okay with you? " I asked her. 

"Yes. I'm already accustomed to this. " she replied. 

Already accustomed huh? Well she's a famous figure back in her world.

"I'm here. " 

I greeted the staff. 

"Good morning. " Albert greeted. 

"Oh! Amelia's here! " Michelle shouted.

"Hello. " Amelia waved back. 

"You can go now. Thanks. " 

"Right. See you later. "

"Nice escort you have there. " Michelle nudged. 

"She insisted to also join me on the way to work. I already told her it's not necessary. " I told Michelle.

"Well you can't blame her. After what happened last night, I doubt she'd let you off on your own. " Albert said.

While Joshua is at work, I've been studying about this world.

A video went viral on dwitter, showing a beast rampaging across a dimly lit street. The video was posted by a citizen who refused to be named. 

"After seeing the clip on my CCTV, I immediately went outside. There are scratch marks left on the ground, probably left by the monster. "

We asked the authorities for a statement. 

"There are no such mythical creatures roaming around the city. However, we would still advise everyone to stay indoors during nighttime. Rest assured, we are doing everything we can to solve this situation. "

"So the situation is this bad... "

I wonder if I could speak with the authorities? 







"Hey Joshua, the manager called you. " a workmate called. 

"Right. I'll leave the counter to you. "


I went to the staff room. 


"I heard about what happened last night. " said the manager. 

"Yeah... It wasn't pretty... " I told her. 

"Tell the Knight of Iris to come here tomorrow. She and Albert will be picked up by the boss for the mission briefing. " 

"Mission? "

"Yes. A monster nest was discovered around the mountains. Our forces can't clear the area on their own. Having two star ranked adventurers would greatly help. "

"There's a monster nest nearby?! Then this is really bad!" 

"The situation is bad, but the peacekeepers are doing their best to control the situation. The only reason why you're hearing about monsters only now is because we've successfully kept it under wraps for five years. "

"Five years? "

"Yes. Monster started appearing on this world five years ago. We only had difficulties dealing with them now. Probably because of the World Enders. "

A few minutes later, the manager called me back. 

"Joshua, could you gp back home and bring thr Knight of Iris with you? " the manager said in a serious tone. 

"Amelia? Why? "

"The Grand Mage called for them. There will be an emergency meeting this afternoon. "

"An emergency meeting? Did something happen? "

"I can't tell you the specifics, but the situation got a whole lot worse. "

The manager had a pained look in her eyes. 

"A... lot worse?... "

I gulped. 

"I'll excuse you for this shift. Stay at home after you call her. "

"Right. "





I went home right away.

"You're back already? "

Amelia was surprised to see me.

"Yeah... "

"Did something happen? "

"The manager told me that the Grand Mage called for you. "

"The Grand Mage? Why? "

"I don't know. Probably something related to the monsters. "

"I see... "

"They said they'll be picking you up at the convenience store. "

"Understood. "

Amelia changed into her combat gear. 

"Let's go. "

Amelia gave a warm smile before heading out.

I arrived at the convenience store after a short walk. 

In front of the store was Albert, clad in armor. He seems to have noticed me. 

"Ah. You're here. Let's go inside. " he said. 

I followed him inside the store. 

"It's nice to mee you, Knight of Iris. " a woman greeted. 

"It's nice to meet you too. Just Amelia would be fine" I told her. 

"Then please call me Cecil. "

"Then it's nice to meet you Cecil. "

We shook hands. 

"The service will be arriving shortly. You can stay here while you wait. " Cecil said, pointing towards a room. 

"Understood. Thank you. "

I went inside the room. 

"This is?... "

"The staff room. " Albert answered. "This is where we stay during our breaks. " 

"I see. " 

After a few minutes, the service has arrived. 

"Let's go. " Cecil said. 

We entered the same vehicle from last time. 

"Greetings adventurers. "

Inside was the Grand Mage. 

"Your Excellency. "

I took a bow. 

"No need for that. We're all normal people in this world. " he said. 

"Right. " 

"So what's the situation boss? " asked Cecil. 

"A spacial fissure formed near monster nest. " the Grand Mage replied. 

"A spacial rupture? Then the barrier is extremely weakened. " Cecil said. 

"Yes. That's why I need to seal it as soon as possible. And for that, we'll have to clear out the monster nest. " said the Grand Mage. 

"Is the monster nest responsible for the monster activity in this city? " asked Albert. 

"Yes. That's why this operation is important. We'll be hitting two birds with one stone. " the Grand Mage replied. 

We arrived at the same building from last time. 

The people inside the building bowed to the Grand Mage. He simply waved it off, implying there's no need for such greetings. 

"We're here. " said the Grand Mage. 

We're not going up this time? 

Two guards opened the doors, revealing a massive conference room.

Amazing. This place looks so different compared to ours in Eden. 

"Take a seat wherever you like. I'll be making preparations for the meeting, so I'll be going now. "

The Grand Mage left the room. 


After we took a seat, I looked around the room. 

"Something wrong? " Albert asked.

"No. I'm just fascinated by this world. " I replied. 

"Although it's different, it doesn't seem that bad does it? " he asked. 

"Yes. I rather like the convenience of this world. "

"This world is so good that a few people, including myself, decided to live here. " Cecil said. 

"This world? Are you also from Eden? " I asked her. 

"Yes. I was a part of the expedition team lead by the Grand Mage. " she replied. "Though we weren't supposed to stay here initially, the fractures in the dimensional barrier caused us to stay. "

"The fractures. Those were caused by the World Enders, right? " Albert asked. 

"We're not 100% sure about it, but the records support the idea. " Cecil replied. 

"The Grand Mage talked about the Avatars last time. He said they were Earth's countermeasure against threats. But what are they exactly? " I asked Cecil. 

"I'm sorry, but we also have no clue about them. We only ready about them in this world's scriptures. But we will know when one of them awakens. A being of great power will surely be detected by our systems. " she replied. 

"I see... But whatever they are, I hope they awaken before calamity befalls this world. " I told Cecil. 

She smiled in response.

The Grand Mage entered the room. He went in front for his speech. 






"I gathered you here today for an emergency meeting. I'll give it to you straight. A World Ender has descended. "

After the broadcast finished Impiro ate a bowl of cereal for breakfast before leaving the house. Kabu was walked out using a leash, which in all fairness was just for show. Monsters could easily rip their leashes off if they wanted to, but the leash itself was symbolic to humans. It insured people on Earth that the monsters walking amongst them could at least be controlled.
Impiro walked Kabu down the street at a slow pace in order to formulate a plan for the day. First he figured he'd take Kabu out to the park and learn more about his skills. Afterward he could go around his neighborhood and do some clean up work in order to make some quick money to pay for Kabu's food.
Impiro's mom refused to let him get a job, instead she wanted him to focus on graduating high school first. In order to make his own money he did work for his neighbors by cleaning their yards and fixing up minor issues with their houses. Considering his neighborhood was poor this also meant it wasn't well-kept, meaning money was just waiting to be made.
"Let's head to the park and train first, later we'll come back to earn money by working for my neighbors. I know a store nearby where we can buy some monster food for you with the money we get."
Impiro smiled down at Kabu who marched alongside him happily, in fact Kabu could care less where they trained as long as he could eat some noodles later.
It took them around 10 minutes to arrive at the park on the outskirts of his neighborhood.
The park was called Crescent Park due the crescent shaped hill it sat on overlooking the neighborhood. No kids were playing on the playground, in fact no one was even at the park. Due to how poor the neighborhood was the park couldn't be taken care of. Therefore it was run down like a ghost town. Plants withered in their flower boxes that lined the path and wind caused the swings to sway slowly. The ambience of the park was very depressing.
"At least we'll have some privacy…"
To tell the truth it hurt Impiro to see this place falling apart. When he was younger Crescent Park was his favorite place to play at, but after the breach the world changed and so did the economy. Money was lost and now no one could take care of the park.
After letting out a sigh he pointed at a bench, telling Kabu to get up on it. The little pup cooperated by leaping up onto the bench in one bounce before gazing at his master.
"Based off the information from the data screen you'll be able to become an all-arounder. Your fur has special defensive abilities and you're pretty fast, training your offensive and defensive abilities together will be the best option."
Kabu was rather smart for a novice level monster, and a juvenile one at that. Through the soul pact he was able to better understand Impiro's words, but not talk back to him using it. To say yes he simply nodded his head instinctively.
Impiro swiveled around to survey the playground and its surroundings. Others would see a ghost town, but to Impiro it was the perfect training grounds for a poor youth like him.
"From now on we'll train from 8am to 12pm on the weekends, afterwards we can do work around the neighborhood to make money. During the weekdays we'll train right after school until 5pm. Only through training will we get stronger."
Blank stares met Impiro's words, but he knew the cub was aware of what he was saying thanks to the soul pact.
"First let's run a few laps around the park to warm up, after that we'll do some other exercises."
If Impiro wanted to train his monster partner he himself would also need to train. After the breach monsters became the new main fighting force on the planet, and modern weapons couldn't even damage them. However, humans remained mostly unchanged. Their physical bodies were still fragile as ever. By training his own body Impiro would not only strength him and his soul, but also set a good example for Kabu.
Besides, he enjoyed gym class as is because of his father who was in the military. Exercising was just normal to him.
Impiro trained Kabu until noon. They ran laps, practiced agility on the various contraptions across the playground, and trained Kabu's bite force by having him chomp down on wooden sticks to break them in two.
All that working out caused both of them to grow very tired, pools of sweat visibly leaked from Impiro's forehead. Meanwhile Kabu held his tongue out panting to catch his breath. By looking at Kabu's data sheet again Impiro could tell that the day's training went well.

Not only had Kabu grown 2 levels just from those 4 hours of training, but a new bit of information appeared in the data sheet - a nickname.
"That's new, maybe it showed up after I named you."
Impiro didn't dwell on the new information much considering it was just a line about his monster's nickname. Had it been some other stat like how to train faster or what to feed it then he would've been more interested.
"It's 12:13pm right now, after we catch our breath we'll head back to the house to grab lunch. Then we can start doing some yard work to make money in order to feed you."
Kabu was now extremely hungry, a growing monster required lots of nutrition in order to help it mature faster. Unlike Earth animals, monsters were from other worlds and their growth patterns were very different. The vast majority of monsters grew from juvenile to adult in a matter of months.
At home Impiro ate a sandwich for lunch and cooked a strip of chicken on the stove for Kabu. After eating they took off to go do yard work for their neighbors. Sara was already gone for work at her day job, so the house was left empty.
To make money Impiro did yard work for his neighbors by pulling weeds, mowing lawns, and watering gardens. Since it was currently spring the weather outside was nice which made it easier to do all that manual labor. Pulling weeds earned him 5 units per house, mowing the lawn earned him 20 units, and watering gardens made him 3 units.
They worked for several hours, only taking breaks for food, water, or the bathroom. In total they earned 104 units having mowed 4 lawns, pulled weeds in 3 yards, and watered 3 gardens.
Woooh.
"Talk about exhausting."
Impiro let out a deep breath and wiped the sweat off his forehead. Kabu tried imitating the action but no sweat was on his body, perhaps this was due to his special fur.
"We made 104 units today. With this much money we can buy a few slabs of meat and plenty of quick ramen packs. The ramen sells at 1 unit for 2 packs, such a cheap meal option is great for us."
Kabu was a little confused by his master's words.
Ramen? Ramen packets? What are those?
Impiro could tell that Kabu was confused so laughed a little bit and explained.
"Ramen is noodles, all we have to do is add water then cook it. You'll love it."
Noodles? I want noodles! I want noodles!
Kabu wagged his tail excitedly, the thought of having noodles overran his childish brain.
Before they went to the store Impiro went home to shower and change. His mom was now home but she was passed out on the couch from exhaustion. Impiro covered her with a blanket after seeing her then left.
To buy food for Kabu Impiro took him to a nearby corner store that sold food for monsters and humans.
The corner store was small and roughly the size of any other one. A large man sat behind the counter helping a customer while a few other people went around shopping. Impiro grabbed 20 packs of ramen, equalling 10 units. He took the ramen to the cashier who was the large man behind the counter.
"I'd like to buy these ramen packs please, and do you have any monster meat in the back?"
The large man looked to be in his mid-40s, wrinkles covered his forehead and a thick beard lined the edges of his face. Despite his somewhat scary look the man was actually quite nice.
"We sure do, in fact a new shipment of horseshoe cow meat came in a few days ago. It's cheap and nutritious, do you want to try some?"
Impiro nodded and the large man turned around to walk into the stockroom. Cold air leaked from the room, leading Impiro to believe it was a meat storage area.
Before long the man came back out with a slab of meat the size of a chicken. Kabu could smell the meat which made him jump up and down with excitement. When viewing the monster meat something interesting happened in Impiro's vision.

[Description]: High in nutrient value, this meat is great for feeding young carnivorous monsters, especially canine types.
This ability even works on food!? Impiro was astonished, not only could he view information about monsters, but monster food too? Just what could this power tell him exactly?
"How much for it?"
"20 units each, I have plenty of horseshoe cow meat in the back too."
"I'd like 4 then please, same size as this one."
The man nodded and brought out 3 more chicken sized chunks of meat from the back then placed them on the counter. Impiro bought the 20 packs of ramen and 4 slabs of meat, leaving him with 14 units as pocket change.
It was already around 5pm, the sun was getting ready to set and people were heading home from work. The corner store was only a 15 minute walk away from Impiro's house so he hurriedly walked home to escape the swarms of people on the street.
Thankfully for him no one seemed to notice Kabu. Originally he feared that walking Kabu would bring unwanted attention, after all the military was offering 100,000 units per horned wolf bear cub brought to them. With that much money Impiro could fix up the house for his mom and still have spending money for Kabu's training.
After walking in the door Impiro slowly closed it behind him so as to let his mom continue sleeping. Kabu happily danced his way into the kitchen knowing that Impiro as going to feed him something delicious.
Each slab of meat Impiro bought from the store was the size of a chicken. In order to ration it for Kabu he planned to feed him a fist sized chunk for breakfast and dinner every day. That would last at least a week before he would have to buy more, which in that time he could easily make the money to do so.
The meat came from a novice grade Horseshoe Cow, a monster that quickly replaced cows from earth in the meat industry due to its rich nutrients, fast maturity rate, and large size. The vast amount of meat that was produced from these monsters caused its worth to drop fast. Now it was just a cheap option to feed monsters with.
For monsters, eating human food and earth animals was pointless. Earth itself lacked magical properties and so did its inhabitants, therefore the food from this planet was a simple snack to them with no nutritional value. Eating humans who had soul pacts with monsters was different though because they had magical energy in their body from the soul pact. As a result, many monsters grew a sweet tooth for rangers in the frontier.
Salt and pepper were cooked into Kabu's dinner to make it taste better, although Impiro was unsure if Kabu even cared. After placing the meat on a dinner plate he put it on the floor to be eaten. The little cub immediately went to town on it.
"Enjoy your dinner Kabu."
After giving Kaby his dinner Impiro pulled out 2 packs of ramen from the grocery sack and put the meat in the freezer. Once he and Kabu were done eating he woke his mom up to have her eat the ramen he prepared. After she ate the food he was satisfied and decided to go hang out in his room.

For the next month and a half Impiro trained Kabu regularly, repeating the process of training and working to earn money to feed his monster. Before long the effects became visible as Kabu was quickly growing in size. When Impiro first met the cub it was only the size of a small dog, now it was nearing adulthood. Its size was now a meter tall and nearly 2 meters long, Kabu's growth rate was unfathomable. His horns were taking shape into deer-like antlers as well with simple branch patterns protruding from the main horns. A dark blue stripe of fur went from the back of his neck down to his tail. On top of that Kabu's level rose from 7 to 16, giving Impiro solid proof that his training was worth it.
Impiro had never raised a monster before, but now he knew just how difficult it was.
The more Kabu grew the more he ate, which meant the more work Impiro had to do to buy food for him. However this extra work was paying off, by the time Impiro graduated in 2 weeks Kabu would be fully grown and ready to start practicing in actual battles.
Over that month and a half long period news about the horned wolf bear continued to spread, but now Kabu had levelled up and grown. Defending him and Impiro from criminals would be far easier than when he was still a cub.
Few people even cared about Kabu when seeing him on the street. Some would whisper to their companions about him as they too saw the IRA broadcast about horned wolf bears, but none tried anything funny.
Akiro also worried about his friend having a hit out on him. After all, they lived in a poor area of Tokyo where crime was prevalent. Police would easily turn a blind eye if anything happened there. Impiro didn't really care though, as Kabu was growing fast enough to be able to deal with other novice level monsters.
On Akiro's end, his rock golemite was also growing quickly. One day after school Impiro and Akrio met up to have a joint training between their partners. After viewing the rock golemite's data sheet Impiro was impressed to say the least.

Akiro's rock golemite was progressing fast like Kabu. At this point the golemite was three times larger than when Impiro last saw the creature. It only took Akiro a week to form the soul pact with his golemite thanks to him feeding it various rocks he found.

It was dark outside and the sound of the occasional car passing by was the only thing that caught anyone's attention. Impiro sat with his mom on the couch watching tv when Kabu walked into the living room.
Sara was slowly adjusting to having Kabu around the house, to do so she tried looking at him as a dog...a very large dog. Now she would even pet him, albeit she was very nervous while doing so, but playing with his soft fur relaxed her more.
Impiro looked at Kabu as he walked into the room, the data sheet appeared in his vision causing a smirk to form across his face.

One thing that peaked Impiro's interest was the fact that Kabu still had yet to gain any special abilities. He remembered seeing a horned wolf bear on an IRA broadcast not long ago, and that horned wolf bear had 2 different special abilities. Impiro concluded that Kabu's level wasn't high enough or he had yet to reach the warrior grade, both were the only logical reasons for this.
Kabu strode over to Impiro and partially jumped onto the couch with his front legs, leaving the back ones on the ground. Impiro played with his fur while watching tv causing Kabu to fall asleep in the weird position.
"What a silly wolf bear, you're getting too big to be doing this all the time."
Impiro teased Kabu and adjusted his body which was trapped under the wolf bear's legs.
"Before long he's going to be too big for the house. Let's hope he stops growing, otherwise he'll have to sleep out back."
Impiro's mom sat up from the couch and yawned. She walked into the kitchen to get a glass of water before returning to her spot on the couch.
"Yeah hopefully, I don't want that to happen. Not yet at least."
Impiro had already adjusted to having Kabu around, it was a lot easier than he thought it would be. The two were a natural match made in heaven whose personalities blended well.
As the movie they were watching played on Impiro began thinking about his future. In 2 weeks he would graduate from high school and become an adult, leaving him with a few options for what to do next.
First off, he could attend a normal university. However he had not applied to any schools yet so he missed this window.
Secondly he could attend a monster university, which had open enrollment up until the start of classes in the fall. Recently monster universities were becoming popular because new monster tamers could earn valuable resources to train their monsters with before becoming rangers. This process required the student to join a guild that the monster university sponsored after graduating.
With the founding of the IRA and creation of rangers, a new existence came into play: guilds. Rangers functioned independently from the IRA, who only oversaw the rangers in order to keep them in check. This allowed ranger guilds to become very strong factions that worked as private armies, businesses, and more. Young rangers would tend to join guilds in order to gain experience and get access to resources. It was a win-win system for everyone. Perhaps Impiro could found his own guild one day and earn money that way, but for now that wasn't an option.
The idea of attending a monster university was enticing, but Impiro decided against it. Attending such a university would require him to join the sponsored guild, which would heavily restrict his freedom as a ranger once he became one. If he wanted to explore the frontier it would be on his own terms, no one else's.
After deciding against either university path, Impiro continued thinking about his options. The military would openly welcome him, but obviously he'd be used because of Kabu and have little freedom in life. Aside from that he could become freelance or work in a small hunting team. Joining the military was his least favorite option of all so it got scratched off the list almost instantly. In the end he decided to go freelance and maybe work with Akiro in exploring the frontier. With his ability to view information about monsters he could easily work on his own or with a friend, making it the best option for him.
When the movie Impiro and his mom were watching ended he fed Kabu his horseshoe cow meat for dinner and went to bed. At this point Kabu was getting so big he could barely maneuver around the narrow hallway leading into Impiro's room. Before long Kabu would have to sleep in the living room or outside as his mom said previously.
Impiro laid down on his bed and tucked himself in. Kabu quickly jumped onto the bed, sized it up, then laid himself across it diagonally, making him go across Impiro's stomach.
"Are you comfy there big guy?"
Kabu simply ignored his master's words and went to bed. Impiro didn't really mind though because the two were forming a deep connection with one another, so spending time with Kabu like this was nice.

In the year 2019 Earth experienced a world-wide event called "the breach" where endless waves of monsters invaded the planet through portals. Humans fought a war for two straight years without gaining the upper hand against the powerful monster hordes. It wasn't until world leaders came together and founded the Interdimensional Ranger Association (IRA) that things began to change in humanity's favor. The IRA trained people to become rangers capable of taming monsters and using them to fight. With the help of rangers around the globe the monster hoards were pushed back and scientists created the Nexus to prevent more portals from opening up on Earth.

Ten years later and now monsters are a central aspect of human society. Many children wish to grow up and become rangers in order to train monsters and explore the frontier. Our protagonist, Impiro Fushima, is no different. Now at the age of 18 he's able to become a Ranger once he graduates from high school. However, one thing sticks out about Impiro: after taming his first monster he receives a special status window that allows him to view detailed information about monsters! With this he could become the strongest ranger ever!

Gray barely managed to dodge the spear that came at his throat, instead the Amazonian warrior bashed him with her shield after missing with the spear.  Gray was pushed back hard and slammed into a skyscraper.

Gray said with surprise "Huh?  That didn't hurt at all..."

"Of course it doesn't, you can't get hurt or feel pain at all in this sandbox world, so why did you scream like a little girl." Ginro yelled at Gray while climbing to the top of a skyscraper and trying to jump on the giant butterfly.

Ginro used his nuclear powered breath attack to force the butterfly down and then pounced on it's back.

"Yeah!  I'm going to turn you into silk pajamas!" Ginro said aggressively to the giant monster butterfly as he started to try and rake his claws across the back of the monster.

When Ginro jumped on the butterfly's back, the monster rolled around in the air and shook him off.  Gray started to think that this simulated monster butterfly may have some bitter sort of relationship with Ginro as it appeared to actually taunt him back after it threw Ginro off of it.

Gray suddenly remembered he had his own 'monster' to worry about as a spear embedded itself in the building right above his left shoulder.  Gray saw the amazon warrior rushing towards him once more, so Gray pulled out her spear and swung it at her like a bat.  Apparently Gray had dramatically enhanced strength as when it smacked the warrior in the side she went flying into the skyscraper on her right side.

The amazon warrior pulled herself out of the debris and looked even angrier, but also uninjured.

"Uhhh, Ginro, can we kill these simulations or are they invincible too?"

"They will surrender after a certain amount of damage, you will also be declared the loser if you take enough damage as well. Consider it like a live-action fighting video game!"

"This... this isn't my idea of taking a break!" Gray exclaimed while he tries to use the spear against the amazon warrior.

"It's not meant to be relaxing to your body, it's meant to be relaxing to your brain." Ginro explained.

"... I should've asked what the different monsters were like before just picking next time."

The amazon warrior grabbed the spear after Gray tried to stab her with it and kicked him hard forcing Gray to let go of it.  Gray managed to keep his balance and not fall down, but he was still weaponless against this warrior.

"Use your powers!  You have the same powers as G**z***a!" Ginro shouted.

Gray forgot about those since it isn't natural for him, or any human, to have such powers.  Gray furrowed his eyebrows while staring at the amazon warrior's chest and two laser beams shot from his eyes.  The beams hit her square in the chest and burned away part of her armor until she managed to get the shield up to block the eye lasers.

"How does a Wooden shield block a laser?" Gray thought to himself, but considering that he was over 100 meters tall and shooting lasers from his eyes, he found it believable.

Normally Gray would have a hard time fighting a woman, but fortunately this 'woman' was just a simulated monster so he didn't have to give himself a gender equality pep talk before hand.

Seeing the lasers have no affect against the shield, he switched up to his breath attack.  Gray opened his mouth and roared, trying to imitate a dinosaur, a blue electric fire streamed out from his mouth towards the amazon woman.  Since the breath attack was slower than the laser attack she could get her shield up before it hit her, but considering the power of it she was only able to deflect the breath attack to the side.  The deflected breath tore into the base of one of the taller skyscrapers causing the building to lean slightly to one side.  Eventually the amazon warrior woman was pushed back against a building by Gray's continued breath attack and her shield started to finally disintegrate from the focused breath attack.  The breath finally burned away her shield after she was unable to fall back any further when suddenly Ginro punched the giant butterfly and sent it flying into the skyscraper next to the amazon warrior.

The force of the collision and the weakened foundation from the previously deflected breath attack caused the building to lean and then fall over towards the amazon warrior.  The amazon warrior woman dropped down on one knee and held her bare arms up to try and shield herself from the building since Gray had destroyed her shield and all of the armor on her arms.

For some reason Gray felt a pang of guilt, stopped his attack and dashed forward to shield the amazon warrior.  The building fell on top of Gray and he was able to shield the amazon warrior completely due to the simulation giving him super powers in this sandbox world.

After the rubble stopped falling, Gray forced himself to stand up and the rubble on top of Gray and the amazon warrior was pushed off of them.  Gray extended his hand to the amazon warrior woman and her face blushed as she looked shyly away and took his hand.  Gray pulled to help her up, and then uppercut Gray in the family jewels... hard...  Gray couldn't feel physical pain, but men share pain when they see another man get hit in the jewels, and just seeing his berries get uppercut was enough to cause mental anguish and pain to make him pass out momentarily.

Gray wasn't sure how long he had been out, but when he came too he saw a fire was built in a park in the city and that several pieces of meat were cooked and on plates all around him.  His head felt like it was resting on something very comfortable and as he looked straight up he saw the tattooed face of the amazon warrior woman smiling at him.  Gray panicked for a second and tried to get up, but he found his hands and feet we tied together.

"Ginro!  What's going on!?!" Gray yelled slightly paniced.

"Interesting, looks like Bertha here wants to take care of you and probably have you be her wife." Ginro said while staring at the situation Gray was in without any hint of worry.

"What?!?  No!  Wait... wife?"  Gray said perplexed.

"Well of course, clearly she is more of a man than you are if you passed out from a mental stimulus.  What happened anyways?"

"She... she uppercut me..."

"Huh?  That shouldn't have done anything aside from maybe lift you up and push you back but not hurt at all."  Ginro said still confused at how Gray was knocked out.

"She uppercut me in the twins!"  Gray exclaimed

Ginro's face went white and he instinctively covered his manhood while crouching slightly.  "I see... now I understand."

The amazon warrior growled at Ginro when Gray yelled at him while she was still fondling his head and petting him like an animal.

"Well, I'll just leave you two be then, good luck and enjoy the bug meat!"

Ginro started to walk off as Gray finally realized that all of the meat had came from the giant monster butterfly Ginro was fighting earlier.  The amazon warrior woman saw Gray looking at the cooked meat and thought he was hungry so she reached out and to some of the cooked meat.

"Peinás? Tróo!"

"Uhhh... what did she say?"

Ginro shrugged his shoulders and said "Beats me, Amazons speak Greek or ancient Iranian if memory serves me correctly."

Gray was force fed the bug meat by the Amazon woman, he found it to be surprisingly good, except for the weird slimy texture once he bit through the burned outer layer since this amazon warrior only seemed to think meat was done cooking when it was black on the outside.

"We need to get back to work Ginro!" Gray yelled frantically as the woman reached for another piece of meat to shove in to Gray's mouth.

"Oh fine...  System, clear monster movie mode and reset workspace."

Gray saw the amazon warrior woman look down at him with a look of sadness as she disintegrated into a beam of light, the terrain around him appeared to grow suddenly as his body was shrunk back to normal size and the city was similarly disintegrated into several beams of light.

Gray did feel a little bad due to the last look she gave him, but it was only a simulation so it wasn't real anyways.

"When you summoned the Giant Amazon Warrior, it picks one at random.  If you want to see her again, just use 'summon Amazon Warrior Bertha' and enjoy." Ginro said while elbowing Gray playfully.  "You can just say 'summon Amazon Warrior' again and try your luck again with the random."

"Please... please can we get back to work... I want to go home..." Gray cried softly on the inside to himself remembering the trauma of having a muscle-bound woman pet him while he was tied up.

Gray pondered to himself as he thought about what he said that he wants to go home.  Where was his home?  He grew up in this virtual world for so long that he considered it his home, but now that he knows the truth, he can't really say that the virtual world is where his home was.

"I need to find out what happened to my actual family, they said we're not cloned, so that means I had to come from somewhere..."

Gray went back to work with Ginro while trying to piece together where his home actually could be based upon his memories.

A hundred years from now the Earth is now reduced to several domed cities after the last war raised the temperature across the planet thus raising the sea level.

The most common escape for everyone is virtual reality.  A new game, Alterra Online, is set to release and promises to be the most realistic mecha/military/political simulation to date as well as the first full dive virtual reality game.

Gray Wilhelm, like so many others, wants to be one of the first to play.  What is Alterra Online's secret?  Why do players feel more alive in the game than in real life?  And why is the government and Alterra Corporation working on it together?

11/9/2019 - Slowing down release rate temporarily as I edit and clean up the first volume extensively.  Wow was I bad!  Doesn't quite need a rewrite thankfully.

We burst into Darwin's office and he's already sitting there. No book or snacks this time just a serious expression on his face. Melody distances herself from me the moment I let go of her hand. She backs further away until she's in the corner of the room. She looks like a cornered animal. The sight alone feels like a dagger is thrust into my heart.
"Miss Goodwin, please don't be so tense. I can assure you that we only wish to talk to you."
"How can you say that! Are you a human turned monster too? Will you convert me too? Is that why you let me work here."
Melody seems panicked but I don't know what to do. So I just shut up and wait for Darwin to talk.
"Miss Goodwin, I assure you that no physical or mental harm will come to you nor will your status have changed once you walk out of this office. I'd like for you to sit down and listen to me for a while so that I may explain to you what exactly is going on."
At Darwin's calming words Melody settles down a bit. She looks around and after seeing nothing too threatening she takes a seat across from Darwin. I'm still standing next to the door and hesitate about what to do.
"Guy, be a man and sit down next to her. I don't need you to make things tenser than they already are."
I follow Darwin's words and take a seat leaving at least a meter between Melody and me. Darwin looks on in disapproval but doesn't comment.
"Now miss Goodwin-"
"I'm married to that guy over there thank you. But since you are technically my boss you can just call me Melody."
"Very well. Melody, as you seem to already have guessed, your husband isn't human anymore. He was killed during a delve into the dungeon and subsequently entered a contract with us in order to return to life and support his family. As stated in the contract he lost his human form and became a monster. His job now is to defend dungeons against any invaders.
"To be perfectly clear with you everyone who works here is either a human reborn as a monster or a real monster. So far you are the only exception and now you know why."
"Is it reversible?"
"Not to our knowledge. While we are able to temporarily return his human form that isn't a real solution since in his core he is still a monster."
"I get the feeling like there is more to this than you let on."
"There are some inner mechanics that I skipped but I assure you that we can discuss this in all detail later. For now, I think you should talk this out between yourselves. Guy, I grant you early leave so you can resolve this at home. This was after all partly our fault too."
The way home is paved by a heavy silence between us. I am too scared to talk to Melody so I try to distract myself by looking at my status.

My stats have risen from the training I put in over the last few days and from building the goblin camp I even gained a new skill. And trap making is now level 4.
No matter how I look at my skills I just don't seem to be a combat type. Both my highest skills aren't meant for combat. Given, my evolution into an instructor probably doesn't exactly favor combat either but I'd like a fee strong combat skills at least. After all, I still have to fight.
We arrive home and enter our apartment. Now, there is no excuse for me to further delay the conversation anymore. Melody seems to be thinking the same.
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"You would think I'm a monster!"
"You are a monster. Remember the not human thing?"
"So, when are we telling Quinn and Cassidy?"
"Guy! We can't tell them. They'll think you're a monster."
"I am a monster."
"Tch. Don't repeat what I said earlier! We are not telling them!"
"Sure, sure."
"But now you tell me what exactly happened. I want to know everything or I will leave and take the girls."
"Woah there, no need to bring out such threats!"
So I spend the next hour or so giving Melody a rundown of what has happened since I died.
"So you are a goblin instructor now?"
"Yes, that is what's shown where my species should be."
Melody suddenly hugs me and softly cries into my shoulder. I don't really know how to react anymore so I go for the obvious choice and hug her back.
"You could have told me, you know. I wouldn't think any less of you just because you are not human anymore. We are there for each other remember?"
"Sorry, I should have told you."
We remain like that until the girls come home. Quinn notices that something is different but chooses to ignore it. Cassidy on the other hand notices Melody's tear-stained face and immediately wants to know what happened.
Melody shrugs it off as a couple-talk about sensitive matters and begins to cook dinner.
<Relationship saved I see. Well done!>
Don't give me that, Navi. Without you hiring Melody without telling me all this wouldn't have happened!
<But aren't you glad that the secret is out now? Now you can talk to your wife about any insecurities you have about having become a goblin.>

The people of the alpha plane have made it their hobby to enter the dungeons of other worlds and conquer them. Naturally not everyone is happy with this as dark undercurrents begin to work against the conquerors.

As some people die in the dungeons they are made an offer. To give up their humanity in order to live on. 
Guy, a veteran carrier, is one of them, he can't bear to leave his family alone and accepts. From then on he must fight in the dungeons but as a monster while simultaneously continuing his life in the alpha plane in the shape of a human.
Jade, an elite adventurer, also accepts the offer but her intent is solely to get revenge on those who killed her and make humanity suffer for her life.
Monica, a little girl not native to the alpha plane is pulled into the happenings due to her childish innocence.
