"Guhhh! Hack!" Lin Zhou coughed rapidly, with blood propelling explosively from his mouth. Combined with the nosebleed, it made for an impressive amount of blood flowing out of a child's body. 

"Ughhh... the last thing I remember was that Factory of Power threatening me. What the hell happened?" Lin Zhou felt even more dehydrated than before, and sweat coated every part of his exposed skin that was not already covered with blood. When he looked at his skin, it was bright red, as if he had been standing in the sun for 10 hours. 

"Water... water!" Lin Zhou switched the language he was using to the native language that he absorbed from the boy's memories. The boy had received a basic language class to teach him some basic words when he was still with his "family". It was how he was able to interpret the words of these foreigners. 

It came extremely natural to Lin Zhou, even more so when he was trying to pronounce his mother language, which made him a bit surprised. He was not a linguist, so he could infer that the memories he absorbed also applied to muscle memory. 

"Orange?" One of the kids took note that Lin Zhou was speaking normally again, only to suppress his screams when he saw the sorry sight of Lin Zhou. 

"Drip. Drip. Drip." The sound of blood droplets  splashing across the floor sounded ever louder as Lin Zhou walked towards the rest of the children clumsily. It drew attention towards him, since the children who saw him were struck with fear by the monstrous appearance of the bloody boy. 

The healthy teenager that attacked Lin Zhou earlier was looking after the workforce from the second floor to make sure that no one was slacking off. He could see that some of the children's faces had changed to an expression of shock, so he turned his head to look at who was distracting them. 

When he saw Lin Zhou, he was similarly frightened by him. How could a person who had bled out so much still be alive and walking? Was this a blood puppet? He had heard stories from Mr Huxley about the mysterious paths that some Omnis took. 

According to Mr Huxley, he had a friend that specialised in Blood Puppetry. It was said that once a corpse was drained of blood, the Omni would fill the corpse with some of their blood 
and use it as a puppet to control. 

Furthermore, if the Omni had advanced to a high rank, they could even awaken the lost powers from the dead puppet's life to bring a qualitative change to the power level of the puppet. The puppet could even be altered to make its body stronger through alchemy, making it stronger than when it was living. 

"What if an Omni is attacking us? The attacks have scaled up recently..." The teenager trembled in his place, his hand curling into a fist. He tightened the fist out of fear. 

"Wahahaha!" An obnoxious laugh replaced the eerie sound of blood dripping. Anyone who had heard this laugh before knew that it was from Old Huxley, which was an extremely rare occurrence. Few things could make the sadistic thin man laugh. 

Stroking his goatee, he walked down to the second floor, wanting to talk to his protege. When he saw the teenager shivering, his face contorted with displeasure, and he whipped the boy with his whip. The teenager winced in pain from the intense pain of the whip. Even though he was wearing 2 layers of cotton clothes, it could barely absorb the impact of the whip. 

"How can you be my successor if you can't bear such a normal sight? This is peanuts compared to what I saw in the frontlines of the Absolute Test! Man up, Sullivan!" Huxley gripped Sullivan's shoulders tightly. His fingernails sunk past Sullivan's clothes and into his flesh, drawing blood. 

"Do you feel scared? Do you feel scared? You shouldn't be." Huxley whispered into Sullivan's ears, before pulling back and laughing loudly. "Ahhh, it's been so long since I've had such a fun time." 

Patting Sullivan on his head, Huxley commented on Lin Zhou's appearance. "Look at him! I've never seen anyone ignorant or brave enough to actually undergo blood integration without the stabilisers. He must have really gone crazy for more power after that beating I gave him." Huxley spoke more animatedly the longer he talked about Lin Zhou. 

However, Sullivan knew that this was the effect of the blue tobacco. It twisted one's perception of time, slowing or speeding up their reactions. Mr Huxley frequently used the potent substance to pass the time. He had already grown addicted to the substance ever since he used it in the Absolute Test, the ruthless battlefield that nations held their battles in. 

Sullivan looked back at the twisted human that was on the ground floor. Lin Zhou was now crawling in the ground, as he had lost strength in his legs. He softly cried out, "Water, water!" 

"So thirsty... I feel so thirsty!" Lin Zhou's mind had only become dimmer as more blood leaked out of his body. His ears, noses, eyes, were all covered with red hot blood. The metallic floor began to shine yellow, while the blood that he left behind started sizzling. 

"How unlucky. If the captive today was an unaffiliated Omni, I wouldn't have to clear up such a dangerous Fused." Huxley took out a pair of leather gloves from his back pocket and wore them, as he directly jumped down from the second floor. 

"Get the hell out of here, and evacuate to the sixth floor bunkers! I don't want to have to clean up your bodies, scumbags!" Huxley threatened the children in a menacing tone, making all of them move with just a hand gesture of his. 

Sullivan aided Huxley by guiding the children to the bunkers. All of them had done this routine whenever independent Awakened tried to rob the factory of its valuable blood to sell for white gold coins, so they were already extremely familiar. 

Huxley walked towards Lin Zhou, who was now by then extremely deformed. His whole body had collapsed into a blob, which had maws that were filled with teeth. 

From this maw, blue fire was being breathed out every second, which Huxley was wary of. The blue fire twisted and warped in the air, which would have been considered a spectacle, if not for the fact that it was coming from a horrific monster.

"This monster actually acquired the ability to use sigil magic. Black-grade spell, Forgefire. Ice Sword should be able to counter it." An icy hilt appeared in Huxley's hand, as a symbol formed out of blue and black lines appeared in his mind. 

From the hilt, a cold blade simply grew out of the air. There were even vines intertwined around the sword to add to the visual flair. Since the ice sword had formed fully, Huxley chanted a small phrase under his breath. 

"Under the sky, speed is might!" Huxley propelled himself forward without any resistance, slashing the ice sword downwards. A chilling aura spread throughout the area the moment the sword was used to attack, freezing the movements of Lin Zhou. 

Lin Zhou was unable to do anything as the sword sliced down. He could still think, but there were no eyes for him to see, no touch, no smells. In short, all of his senses were cut off, and he could not control the body. 

"Is this... my retribution? All those years of using and ditching my friends... was that weird Factory of Power my karmic retribution?" Lin Zhou's memories replayed in his mind. His life's goals were to climb to the top, no matter what it took. In his case, it meant cruelly using people as his pawns to achieve better results. 

"I guess this is it, then. All of them deserved it anyway." He could not bother to be sentimental. If it was done, it was done. Lin Zhou resigned himself to his fate. Maybe if he was lucky enough, he could even come back to his old world. 

The ice sword morphed into serrated edges to rip through the blob-like Lin Zhou's flesh more effectively. Lin Zhou exploded like a grape when popped, spraying burning blood everywhere, but with the chill radiating from the icy sword, it was entirely negated. 

"This is why I say blue tobacco is the good stuff. That's why I can do feats like this!" Huxley could still feel his heart pumping excitedly. 

It had been so long since he was able to fight an enemy, as his Lord had signed a contract with the other Lords three years ago to stop the attacks on each other and merge their forces into a centralised group. No more Awakened dared to attack factories anymore, which made Huxley extremely dissatisfied. How could he exercise his combat skills if there was no enemy? 

"That Orange boy... was it? I should have toyed with him a bit longer. Then again, he could have really killed me with that fire breathing. I should go take a nap. How exhausting, having to deal with these maggots all day long." Huxley did not turn to look back at Lin Zhou. He was extremely confident in his forte, the ice sword, to bring death to every enemy he met. 

That was how Lin Zhou, who was controlling a  mass of flesh hidden within the gore, managed to avoid detection entirely. 














Magic is the ultimate bane or boon. The potential to use it are only obtained through the birth of the Omni, who can comprehend the true nature of the world and turn it against the supreme beings that lurk in the shadows of the magical plane, known as Truth. 

Omnis advance through the refinement of the world’s essence, and gain frightening powers. They are known as the dominators of the world. One particular human Omni set up the empire known as Arcanus, where the ultimate law is the law of the jungle! 

In Arcanus, where they only respect power, numerous unethical experiments were conducted, and through the knowledge gained, a shocking Industrial Revolution occured! Factories sprouted up everywhere, and thus began the greatest conflict in Truth. 

“Welcome to the Factory of Power! Technology will turn energy into the ultimate form of magic!” The sudden appearance of Lin Zhou causes a disturbance in the war. How significant will it become in the grand scheme of things?

"Watanabe!"
"father? How can I help you?"
"I was just told that my stupid grandson cut off the arm of one of the noble kids in the academy."
"ah, haha!! He did. But we knew that he was going to carry out such a thing."
"Yeah, I knew that already, this mission is very important, so I won't be scolding him as long as he manages the mission done."
"I received some good news for you as well. I only just got off the phone with Sosuke, and just like his brother Hirako, he managed to anger three different nobles in one mission."
"Did he discover anything in the factory?"
"no, just like the factory Hirako discovered. A lot of chemicals and broken guns that were used as a test or a prototype..."
"that's what I thought. That maniac Satsujishi Fukusaburu. We have to take him down. He is the most unpredictable kid out of the seven kids that are choices for the throne." 
"yes, I agree. He is someone we must deal with, but we can't do that if we know that he's got a way to mass-produce Denbukino souls and mix them with weapons to arm his soldiers with Denbukinos other than the original seventeen. It's a tremendous risk."
"We have got nine out of seventeen so far. the black hole is one of the strongest if used right and Akiru remains as the best choice for it, and Hirako was able to merge with two, so I think that Sosuke should receive one as well. once he gets back, tell him to come and meet me. I and Fukuya have prepared a gift for him."
On the other side of the world, a massive explosion was visible all across London. it's also the place where Sosuke Kozaki, the third son of Watanabe Kozaki and the older brother of Hirako was carrying out his mission. 
Sosuke was given a critical mission, which is to find out that the factories that were owned by Satsujishi Fukusaburu in London were used to mass-produce Denbukino souls as well. 
the Denbukino were souls that were extracted from several strong and extinct creatures and were sealed in weapons to help fight the war that took place in Japan thousand of years ago. the war that divided the country and the very same war that resulted in the Kozaki family losing its status as a noble family and more importantly it's right to be the next Royal family. 
the Denbukinos were confirmed to be a total of seventeen weapons, but when a spy of the Kozaki family who was able to infiltrate Satsujishi Fukusaburu house and was capable of finding out that Satsujishi is now able to produce weapons at the same level as the original Denbukinos, the Kozaki family had to change its plans. 
which is why the Kozaki family carried on the mission of saving Hideaki Hiromi, the father of Asuka Hiromi, and the person who is nicknamed The Mad Scientist who's more smart than mad. on top of that, he is the childhood friend of Watanabe Kozaki. 
there is enough evidence to prove that Hideaki is being forced to help Satsujishi produce those types of weapons. 
the Fukusaburu family is currently in a state of chaos. the succession war has taken place between the siblings and while not all of them are strong or a threat to the Kozaki family. Satsujishi is the most dangerous out of them. he is known to be a total psychopath who gets amusement from seeing others suffering. 
He was a monster, and Watanabe knew that the only way for them to win this war is by focusing on taking down the most vicious candidate for the throne. 
Watanabe sent Sosuke to find and destroy every factory that Satsujishi maintains around the globe. that massive explosion in London was indeed one of the factories being blown by Sosuke. 
Watanabe is preparing for an all-out war and there is a lot on the line, he was not going to take any chances. he wasn't going to lose, but neither was Satsujishi.

Fifty years ago, there was a massive war between seven noble families that wanted to steal the throne and rule Japan. That war is what shaped the earth into what it is now. The Kozaki family got kicked out of the seven noble families and their authority got evoked by the Fukusaburu family who's the current royal family. Filled with a sense of revenge, Watanabe Kozaki decides on turning his entire family into a family of mercenaries with two goals, stay alive and destroy the royal family. 

This story follows one of the five children of Watanabe Kozaki, Hirako Kozaki, and his adventure to regain back his family's place at the top of the world.

Before we could take on the Shadow Broker's base we needed to get more familiar with our new abilities and fighting styles. We had to practice with guns, biotics, tech, and mix past abilities.

For guns, I was already an old hand with them so all I needed was a bit of a refresher. Suki and Toph, however, needed more practice. They had the memories of how to use guns, but it took some time for them to integrate the muscle memories from their origins and perks.

Biotics was something we all needed to practice. Suki had an immediate grasp of moves that needed fine control but had a very hard time using her full biotic potential. Toph and I were the opposite. We are biotic monsters fully capable of destroying whatever we could see. We didn't exactly have finesse though. Either way, we got better with time.

Tech skills we're primarily for Suki and me, but Toph didn't have a lot of built-in tech memories. She had to practice basic tech literacy. Suki and I quickly incorporated our natural tech abilities. We also spent time going over common equipment. For first aid medi-gel, an Omni-tool as a very useful multitool, and Omni-gel a portable fix-all.

Finally, we began mixing in past skills with new ones. For Suki and Toph, this meant bending. For me, this was a bit more in-depth. I started by downloading a comprehensive chemical compendium.It was filled with the chemical structures for all sorts of elements, molecules, and other larger structures. I couldn't use creation in my AI body because it didn't have any fat. However, I could still turn into my human form and practice that way. In that form, I practiced complex material generation. The most difficult of which was the formation of element zero, and despite the name isn't a single element. It is exotic matter that causes anti-gravity fields when an electrical current is applied. It is a single material but it is fundamentally different from the others. Instead of protons, electrons, and neutrons element zero, eezo, is made up of a complex series of quarks. With my quirk now at peak performance I then transitioned to incorporating my bending. Unfortunately, I found water bending particularly unhelpful right now. Blood Bending could be replaced by biotic stasis. Regular water bending was just less destructive than firearms. There were still some minor clever uses and healing, but for now, it didn't seem like it would make up a significant portion of my arsenal.

Unlike me, Suki and Toph both found their bending incredibly useful. Toph was mixing biotics and bending to great effect. Either bending absolutely enormous hunks of earth by lowering their weight, or by launching pebbles at speeds approaching the speed of light. Suki also hadn't found many direct combat applications, but she did find ways to use air bending to augment her movement. She used small focused air blasts to propel herself very quickly, and air shielding to block larger debris. Suki also incorporated biotics into her bending. Showing off her biotic finesse she did 2 major techniques. First, she applied biotic mass effect fields to lower her own weight. This increases her speed, her ability to boost, and even limited flight. The second was lacing her the wind she generates with her biotics. This can slightly affect the mass of people or objects caught in it, either speeding up or slowing down projectiles and people caught in the winds. Seeing their progress with bending biotics inspired me to try again, but for now, training was over we had an info broker to kill.

We geared up and made our way to Factory Defect. I was back in my AI body, and I was carrying Great Reason, my valyrian great sword, as well as one of my water bending skins. In addition to my past equipment, I also added new armor and several mass effect guns. The armor was in addition to my already armored body. For guns, I had a Mattock heavy rifle and a Piranha Assualt Shotgun.

Suki had lighter armor that she could supplement with tech and biotic abilities. She also had an M-6 Carnifex Heavy Pistol and the M-98 Widow Anti-Material Rifle. In addition to her regular weapons, she had a specialized Omni-tool carrying her advanced VI to assist with hacking and tech skills. Finally, Toph was decked out in earth kingdom green heavy armor, because she didn't even notice the extra weight. She also had a Piranha Assualt Shotgun and an N7 Typhoon Light Machine gun.

After departing the vault our first step was crossing the galaxy. The base was in the Hourglass Nebula, on the opposite side of the galaxy, and required us to take four primary relay jumps. Unfortunately, traveling through the Terminus System lived up to its reputation. As we were preparing to use a secondary relay to get to our final destination we were attacked by a frigate 3 times the size of our ship. 

"Attention S.S Factory Defect" A gravely voice readout with disdain across our communication channels "Surrender now, and we will spare your miserable human lives!" I look back at Suki and Toph grinning. Suki seems resigned but Toph looks like she's having trouble holding back her glee. "Alright! Alright! We surrender just please don't hurt us!" I tell them back doing my best to sound meek.

The communication line goes dead as the ship approaches and docks with us.

"Come on you guys, don't we have better things to be doing than playing around with pirates, " Suki said tiredly.

"Suki how could you say that. These are slavers. It's our moral imperative to stop them" Top gleefully countered.

"And I'm sure it has nothing to do with how much fun you're going to have crushing these unsuspecting idiots" 

"Is it so wrong to enjoy doing good in the world?" Toph replied with a face splitting grin.

"I'm going to have to side with Toph on this one Suki. Plus who knows how many captives they have on that ship."

"Fine, let's just get to it then," Suki said just as airlock doors opened revealing 5 Batarian slavers. Who pretty quickly realized this was not in fact a civilian human ship. 'Five Batarian slavers board a corvette and find a rouge AI, a Quarian, and a Krogan waiting for them' sounds like the set up to a solid joke. I think Toph was the only one with a punch line though because she was the only one laughing. Suki remotely accessed the door control and kept the boarding passage open. As Toph laughed she started a biotic charge and violently launched the boarding party back onto their ship. As we boarded them the paltry resistance of the ill-equipped crew did not last long. Less than 25 Batarians ran the ship, all of them were outfitted with bootleg armor and weapons, and the best among them were poorly trained. 

Unfortunately, there turned out to be no real reward for our victory. We checked their logs and found that they weren't slavers. They had just intended to kill us and scrap our ship. Not that that's any better, but it did mean this frigate was primarily filled with trash.

A jumpchain multiverse exploration story. Where the main character will be travelling world to world across different popular media.

This is my first foray into fiction writing. Especially long form story telling, so I apologize for the quality and hopefully I'll get better.

Torui woke up in a corridor a portal closing behind him as he heard a voice "show me dungeon lord what you'll make of yourself." 

His shock left him speechless as his eyes darted around. He looked down and saw what looked like a deranged flaming witch and a man next to two bodies with a sword, and when his eyes trailed down to the floor next to him... he jumped as he saw another boy unconscious.

Atlas woke up in a clinic, a mender treated his wounds so he wouldn't die, nothing too much but then again... it was ten times more than he would have gotten prior to his tower venture... maybe they had taken pity on him? 

He got up and left the clinic before the one who worked on him had a chance to charge him. He got back to his abandoned drug house and went to the roof where the other homeless wouldn't notice him.

He found he still had access to the system interface that would normally be just for those with classifications, attuned as they are most commonly referred to as.

He tried to speak to it "do you know what these markings are for?" There was no response, then he had noticed that no other attuned would do this to access the system so it must be something else. He thought of the question with the intent of reaching the system and a strange feeling... no, a strange thought had appeared in his mind as if he had already had this thought, known the answer. 

It was a sudden awareness the probed his memories or rather inserting a memory as the system answered his question, like thoughts projected into you mind. "Reserved classifications, they require essence to activate. Essence allotted to active, 0/1." 

Reserved Classifications? He thought about it for a moment and was ecstatic before realizing that this wasn't normal... and it wasn't something he could disclose. 

"Feed essence to unlock choices for 1 of 5 restricted classifications now?"

"Yes?" He said awkwardly in confusion. Nothing happened. Everyone had an innate understanding of how to manipulate essence to some degree so he decided that maybe manual insertion would be the better approach. He forced 1 essence in and then his mind nearly overloaded in that instant, flooding with information of classifications. His head was spinning wildly with thoughts until it stopped on two classifications. 


"Choice 1 of 2... Select classification siphoner yes | no"
"Choice 2 of 2...Select classification bruiser yes | no"

"Siphoner?"

"Siphoners absorb magic and mana from the air making it tricky to fight them. This class isn't very good on its own. This class increases vitality and constitution. 

"What about bruiser." He cringed thinking about his run in with Joffrey after he got the classification.

"Enhances speed and strength, this class has skills based on using raw power to overwhelm an opponent."

"Choice 1 of 2 Siphoner."

"+2 vitality, +1 constitution,
Only skills this classification has contact Absorb and aura absorb."

Atlas scrolled through his selections, he chose necromancer over the summoner option, if he was to find a way to survive completely on his own it would be easier to raise the dead then tame and contract a monster especially since last time he checked... which was a few days before the solstice... summoners don't know how to make true contracts on their own  and would have to rank up or be taught, two things that would become extremely hard if he couldn't make it to the academy; he then chose guardian over berserker, though he wasn't necessarily apathetic he wasn't overly emotional either, a classification that relied completely on emotions and charm wouldn't something that he could use to the fullest in any given moment so he chose the guardian classification, a more well rounded melee class; atlas then chose the cryomancer class over elementalist... it wasn't an easy choice, elementalists could manipulate earth, water, fire, wind, and lightning to a moderate level but cryomancers were masters of ice magic, they were rare and far more powerful than the Jack of all trades elementalist but with far less versatility. 

Then he saw his last options, "Choice 1 of 2... Select classification Warlock yes | no"
"Choice 2 of 2...Select classification Blademancer yes | no"

"Blademancer."

"Blademancer channel their powers to craft blades of ranging qualities. At later stages they can even control and enhance blades." 

He thought of all the different possibilities, his own weapon factory? He would never have to buy a sword again, he would never be unarmed and together with a physical class? But he still had another option left. "Warlock."

"Warlocks channel the power of destruction and aoe spells. They specialize in war casting and spell creation, a true force of nature." Aoe, area of a effect, were techniques good for group buffs, crowd control, and mass destruction.

So it came down to blades versus spells, change the tides of a war or fight in it, the choice was simple, "class abilities are war casting- error, class has been upgraded to Frost Death Warlord. New abilities acquired, war casting, frost casting, death casting, frost demon. Perk acquired, a touch as cold as death. This perk grants the user the ability to simultaneously drain life and heat from a target to temporarily boost their own vitality and enhance their undead abominations." 

Atlas blinked rapidly at the string of information flowing through his brain. "What?"

Hello... I'm Haydrian Morningstar and I implore you to go on an adventure with me. This is the story of the Last Arcane, or rather the Rise of the Arcane. This journey will be rough and dark at times but it's your job to see characters persevere through. 

You will see many characters struggle through the world like two boys from earth trying to figure out where they belong or how to use there power for good in spite of their nature; a dungeon lord trying to find a way to get back at the church and nobles; nobles trying to Change the hierarchy; commoners trying to find their way in the world and the last child of an arcane trying to learn how to grow stronger to survive. 

Arc one: Arcane Dungeon Lord (name is still a work in progress)

Life is hard and so the best way to make a name for yourself or grow more powerful safely? Go to the academy right? Characters all converge at the school for the attuned and mystic arts. Here they learn how polarizing the world is... the school becomes increasingly disturbing as there are various attacks, maybe it's not as safe as we thought? Here in this world you can either side with yourself, the dungeon lords, the nobles, others, or the goddess in order to save yourself and maybe those you learn to care for. Maybe at one point you'll have to make that choice.
