'You've kept everything, but one.' Two of those three things were done, and one was not done. Kim Tae-hoon smiled at the fact.
 
'When this is over, I'll finish the rest.' Kim Tae-hoon's recollection ended there. He got up from his seat.

The Navy and Air Force Integrated Base in Washington D.C. was one of the most important and special of the countless air bases in the United States.
 
There were two reasons. Washington D.C. was the US capitol, and was where the Air Force One's home was. These two facts alone made the presence of Andrews Air Force Base incomparable to any other air base.
 
"Boss!" The title, which had never been used before at Andrews Air Force Base, echoed out. Jang Sung-hoon was the starting point of the title, and at the end of the title was Kim Tae-hoon.
 
"I haven't seen you in a long time!" Jang Sung-hoon, who was approaching happily, immediately opened his arms, as if to hug him.
 
Kim Tae-hoon said to Jang Sung-hoon, "What about what I ordered?"

At the report, Kim Tae-hoon put his hand lightly on Jang Sung-hoon's shoulder.
 
Jang Sung-hoon's smile was drawn. However, his smile did not seem so bright. Through the smile, he carefully spoke out, "Boss, if you hadn't killed Mao, it would have been easier. You wouldn't have to fight Quetzalcohuātl right away."

When Kim Tae-hoon opened his eyes, a great wilderness filled his eyes. There was a huge shadow, a dark cloud, over the wilderness where a creature could not grow. But it was not a dark cloud. The darkness was a shadow created by a huge dragon moving over the sky, covering the sun.
 
It was a huge monster. The snake-like green body was over a kilometer long, with a red mane that resembled the lion's mane on its head, and a wing on its back that reminded him of an angel. But the most intense thing was not that appearance, but the two purple eyes on its head.
 
'It's awesome.'

The First Hunter is a short Korean, action-fantasy novel situated in a post-apocalyptic world. Monsters start appearing out of nowhere and people are unlocking strange powers. Those who unlock such powers are called ‘Hunters’, ones with the strength to kill the monsters. To fight and survive, that is their goal. Society crumbles and the world burns.

A very fun novel that dives into the plot almost instantly. The novel is interesting in a way that it depicts a lot of human nature and what people would do in a situation such as this is quite an accurate manner. The character development is also very good as you get to learn about the characters, their backgrounds, and their stories. All in all, this is another novel I’d recommend to a lot of readers who are interested in reading fantasy and gaming novels.

Episode 5: Harsh Reality


Dae-shim's POV

A while later, we decided to eat dinner with the ramen noodles Hyun retrieved from the hallway. I even added some of my remaining food so we wouldn't starve while sleeping. After this, we placed our plates, bowls, spoons, chopsticks, and the pot on the sink, and I headed back to my room. I then slept under my bed since I couldn't risk letting that blind monster killing me in my sleep. I had a feeling that Hyun was doing the same thing as well.

The next day...

I woke up from my sleep and decide to see what is happening outside. Upon opening the window, I noticed many people resting on the roofs of all the still-intact buildings.

'I can't believe this is all too real...' I contemplated on these last few days. 'Even in normal buildings, there are monsters lurking within. It's just like Darwin said: survival of the fittest. The world outside this room is dangerous.'

"I just wish this was all over once I cure all the monsters in this town," I said to myself out loud, before I noticed another monster outside. This one had a grotesquely long neck and an oversized head covered in eyes.

"Goddamn, that is freaky," I said as closed the window and curtains.

Later that day, I went to Hyun's room again.

"So how do we survive in a crisis like this?" I asked.

"Hmm..." Hyun pondered before turning to the computer. "I'm pretty there is an online survival guide here that we can read."

He clicked an article that read "Bear Gurylls's apocalypse survival blog", slowly scrolling to the latest news as we began to read.

The Government has actually announced "NO MEASURE" in this monsterization situation, which we do not know exactly when it started. The president seems he's already been monsterized.

He no longer shows himself in public.

And it seems that all senior government officials have been monsterized. The government is now unable to provide any kind of help.

Yes, that's right.

After all, the zombie apocalypse was only possible in movies... No, I mean, the era of monster apocalypse is here. I always knew mankind would go extinct someday, but what annoys me is that why it has to come in our generation and why in this form. A nuclear explosion or a meteorite crash would've been much better since we'd die in an instance without feeling any pain.

I've already not been able to eat proper food for three days. There are so many monsters near my house. I'll get killed immediately if I get out, man... I miss my mom's food... Well, actually, I think my parents also monsterized because they aren't picking their phones for 5 days.

I know I should feel sad, but I'm not even sad anymore. It's not clearly known that monsters have certain attributes, which blocks all wireless transmissions around them. That means wired services such as wired communication and wired internet are still working (in some areas only). If monsters aren't nearby, it's possible that even wireless communications are working...

But the block range is 50 meters per each monster, so if you're living in a densely populated area and not in a rural area, wireless communications are virtually impossible... well... these all don't matter much now.

If they were like zombies, we could just avoid their this damn monsterization starts inside of you out of nowhere. Early symptoms include frequent nosebleeds, frequent hallucinations, excessive appetite, and frequent fainting.

If you have these symptoms, I recommend that you jump off quietly from a rooftop. Because it means it's already progressing.

They start talking to your inner consciousness inside of your body. They're so eager to get out. Anyway... let's endure this together.

"What the...?" I gasped as Hyun and I continued to read in shock.

There are rumors online that a cure exists, or one should drink Coke mixed with hydrogen peroxide, or if a certain medicine is injected, one can become immune, or there's a safe area in Jeju Island, but you shouldn't listen to any of this. In conclusion, we're all completely fucked.

Hyun's POV

That last few passages made me physically sick.

"That's too harsh, you bastard," I said with slight anger in his voice

"I can't believe that whoever wrote this is so inhumane," Dae-shim agreed.

I then checked my phone calendar and looked at a specific date: October 25, the day I planned to kill myself.

"I am supposed to die in 19 days anyways," I said to myself before I put the phone on my desk, slumped on my seat, and thought about the funeral several days ago.

'At least, you guys died as humans. I...'

Suddenly, my thoughts were interrupted by loud tapping from my window. Dae-shim approached the window and parted the curtains. We discovered that we were facing the monster I saw this morning. It then lowered its neck as it slithers away from our line of sight.

"What the hell is that?" I was shocked at what we saw.

"I don't know, but I think I saw that monster this morning," Dae-shim pointed out.

"You saw that, too?" I asked as Dae-shim nodded.

The next day...

After I woke up, I checked the fridge and noticed it was nearly empty of food.

"Phew," I sighed as I sat down on my chair and turned my computer on. It was October 7.

'I might not even survive until 25th. So the question is, will I get killed by a monster or become a monster myself? Come to think of it, who was that guy...? Well, who cares...' I thought to myself as I checked the website about my favorite series.

"Hmm.. it's still working," I mused while looking at the date of the finale's release (October 25).

"25th... the long-awaited finale of 'Maria from the Sky'."

That was when Dae-shim entered my room.

"You didn't sleep at all, did you?" he asked

I glanced back at the computer, silent for a moment before looking back at Dae-shim.

"Have you ever heard of 'Maria From The Sky'?" I asked, avoiding the question.

"Of course. That's all I would watch whenever I had free time, from my studies," Dae-shim confessed, a sheepish smile coming onto his face.

He quickly looked through the list, his eyes looking for any sign of his username before he spotted it. I saw his face light up as he began to smile.

"Hey, would you look at that. I actually won!" Dae-shim said, stepping back and falling back onto the bed.

"COOLRUSH255...?" I read out loud, making him nod. "But we can't see it now...damn and I wanted to see this before I died." I mumbled as Dae-shim sat up.

"We don't know that." he stated, causing me to look over. "We both just have something to look forward to in the future."

"Something to look forward to in the future?" I repeated, with Dae-shim nodding and smiling.

"It's something to keep us going. So, let's keep on surviving so we can see that theatrical cut together," Dae-shim declared, holding his fist out to me.

I stared at her with confusion on my face, looking between him and his fist.

"You just gonna leave me hanging?" He asked, shaking his fist a bit.

"O-Oh right..." I muttered, hesitantly fist bumping her as he smiled at me.

"No comment since the 5th," I pointed out as I started typing.

BLLK: Is anyone alive here?

I'm out of food now. I have not become a monster yet, but I can't survive much longer with nothing to eat. I'll just be dead alone in this room. Like a garbage.

I then sent my message online but then I realized: why do I need to send this anayway?

"What the hell am I doing? This is pathetic," I sadly mused to myself. I decided to delete my message when a reply appeared.

It read:

CREWCREW: Someone's alive? Me! I'm still alive!

"Is that a survivor?" Dae-shim asked, already by my side as I quickly nodded and sent my reply back.

BLLK: How are you over there?

Dae-shim and I stared at the private chat as we waited, feeling as if we've been waiting forever for any sort of reply.

CREWCREW: The worst. Are you not in the process of being monsterized yet?

BLLK: I'm definitely in the process. I don't know why, but I think it's working slow for me.

CREWCREW: Monsterization time varies for each person. Shall I congratulate you for increased time of pain?

"That's one sarcastic asshole," I remarked as Dae-shim chuckled at the stranger's sarcasm.

BLLK: Where do you live?

CREWCREW: It's the first time a guy asks me where I live in a chat, LOL. Why? You'd come to me and share some food?

BLLK: I've got no food, none... I'd probably starve to death before I can commit suicide.

CREWCREW: Suicide? What suicide?

I was surprised by this, 'What the hell am I doing...? I don't even know this guy.'

BLLK: Actually,... I was gonna commit suicide on the 25th. But I'm not even sure if I could survive until then.

CREWCREW: LOL, were you gonna die after watching the final episode of Maria? LOL, you also won the preview ticket?

BLLK: Yes.

CREWCREW: ...

BLLK: What's wrong?

CREWCREW: Your life is fucking hopeless.

BLLK: Your personality is fucking hopeless.

CREWCREW: I'm with my neighbors. I live in a small studio apartment and we successfully blocked the 1st floor but everyone is isolated in this building.

"You should be quite happy about it since you're not stuck in the room with a neighbor," I mused while reading his reply.

CREWCREW: We need to go outside to get some medicine, but there's no way. Especially, we don't have enough people. We plan to team up an go upstairs one by one to rescue other people who have become isolated.

"That's insane," I gasped upon reading this. "Do they want to play heroes or some thing?"

"I guess," Dae-shim replied.

BLLK: ...Why don't you just wait for the army to rescue you?

CREWCREW: We can't. There are a lot of people who need help right now.

BLLK: Or climb up the window, using a rope or something.

CREWCREW: We also thought about that, but it's gonna be difficult. And there's no rope that's long enough. Not many of us would be athletic enough to able to climb up several meters using a rope. Besides, there's this monster with an odd eyeball which is climbing around outside of the window.

We froze as we quickly looked at each other, remembering the eyeball monster staring through the window before we had gone to bed.

"Wait. Did you mean..." I typed a reply but CREWCREW has already logged out.

"No way..." I stared at my computer, shocked at the fact that there's survivors in the apartment still alive, but also unbelieving that they'll last long in here.I scoffed before turning off my computer and turning towards Dae-shim, who caught me by surprise at the suddenly hopeful look on his face.

"There's survivors here..."


My name is Dae-shim Lee. I'm an 18-year-old biochemist. Recently, I have been assigned on a mission to deliver my cure for monsterization to an unnamed town and help the monsters recover. However, I have to brave my way through the monster-infested streets. With the help of my newfound allies, especially my blood brother Hyun Cha, I will pave the road the salvation for all the people in this town.

And just when I thought my life was getting back to normal.

Trish and I got married in January this year. We moved into our own place not too long ago. Life seemed to start becoming the way it always should've been. But no, it would be too crazy to live a normal fucking life.

When we moved in, we introduced ourselves to most of our neighbors. We live in an apartment complex that consists of two building across from each other. View from our bedroom looks at the other building but hey, the place was cheap and in a good location so we couldn't complain. We hit it off with two of our neighbors right away. Jeff and Rachel. They're a bit older, probably mid-thirties, but the chemistry was there so that's all that mattered. I actually believed that Jeff and Rachel were a couple because they were always together, but later I learned that they were just neighbors, living above each other in the building across from ours.

Enough bullshitting, let me get to the point.

I bought a pair of "new" Beats by Dre wireless headphones on eBay and I got exactly what I deserved. I got a fake pair. I started the process of complaint with eBay but I knew that shit wouldn't work. The thing is, as fake as they were, headphones actually sounded good. So I took them to workout at the gym that was on the first floor of my building.

I was running on the treadmill and the phones were doing well. And just as I started thinking that maybe these counterfeits aren't that bad, the left ear cup started producing crackling noise. I ignored it and kept running. Then, a loud bang came from both of the cups and I nearly tripped on the machine. I stopped. Silence completely overtook the headphones.

Then I heard silent crackling, and what seemed like whispers. I knocked on the plastic cups, hoping that'd fix them. It did. Whispers now became clear talking.

"Well, they said it was him, so it must be him…" a male voice said. It sounded familiar.

"Alright, but let's keep calm until we actually know for sure," responded a female voice. I recognized that voice. It was Rachel. And the male sounded a lot like Jeff.

Then the cracking noise got loud again, reaching unbearable pitch. As I was about to take the headphones off, the music started playing again.

I didn't think twice about this event. I mean, why would I bother trying to understand how their conversation ended up in my headphones? Who gives a shit. I was just pissed that my fake Beats were acting up.

Jeff came over the next day. He is an electrician and I asked him to help me install a pair of those clapping lights. I guess I watched too many movies and I really wanted to be able to just clap for the damn light to come on. I found a good deal and bought a few, so Jeff was helping me install them. He did it for free.

Since eBay hadn't done anything regarding my issue, I decided to keep the headphones. Seller wouldn't give me refund, and they sounded alright, so I sucked it up.

So two days ago (Sunday), I was relaxing at the balcony drinking some Stella and listening to Kanye's new album. I mean I was sunbathing and listening to my favorite artist while drinking favorite beer, life was damn near perfect. Then, the same crackling noise started. At first it didn't bother me, but it got louder and louder. It finally got really loud, and then it all stopped.

Whispers came through the headphones again. I turned up the volume to the max.

"We're going to have to approach Trish first." A million fucking goosebumps ran all over my body. If I learned anything from my encounters with Rose, it was that coincidences don't exist in my life. The voice saying my wife's name belonged to Rachel, there was no doubt.

I stood up in my chair and looked to the building across, but I couldn't see into Rachel's apartment. She had blinds on. Come to think of it, she (and Jeff) always had their blinds on and were never on the balcony.

"At least 4 days. That's what we have to wait. You heard him. And after that, him." That was Jeff. I stood up and took my headphones off. I wanted to run over to his place and ask what the hell was going on. I just stood there for a minute, trying to think. I put the Beats back on my head, but at that point, the music was back on.

I didn't know what was going on. I didn't mind the first interference, but this one, this one was about my wife. And how in the world was I able to hear them talk? I assumed it was some kind of radio interference.

I decided to talk to Jeff about it. I texted him and asked what he was doing. After no text for few minutes, I went back to drinking. Two hours later, I was still sitting on the balcony without response from Jeff.

Finally, around 9pm, I saw Jeff walk out of his building. As soon as he got out, I yelled.

"Hey man, you get my text?"

"Nah, sorry, I left the phone at work. What's up? Lights working ok?"

"Lights are fine, thanks. I was gonna ask you, do you and Rach talk over radio or something?"

I swear to god, the man just stopped in his tracks. He was looking up at me, but he wasn't moving.

After about a minute or so of silence, he responded.

"Nah man, why, where'd you get that from?" he smiled at me, but it seemed forced.

"Shit man, no idea, must be the Stella" I said also forcibly smiling while raising my empty beer bottle. He laughed at my joke, yelled a quick "talk later" and went back in.

I thought that the whole encounter was strange, shit, whole damn day was strange as hell, but I wasn't thinking too much about it. I was decently buzzed and pretty tired, so I just decided to go to sleep. Trish was already sleeping.

At around 2-3am, some kind of noise woke me up. I am a light sleeper and even little things get me, but this sounded pretty loud. I sobered up enough to realize that the sound was coming from the headphones. It was that same crackling that got louder and louder. Finally it went away and silence took over. I turned the volume all the way up trying to hear anything. These damn things are so loud, they sound more like a boombox than headphones, but I still couldn't hear anything.

Then, a loud clap came from my fake Beats. The light in our bedroom turned on instantly. I was still a bit sleepy, so it took me a second to comprehend what the fuck was happening. The clap activated the light. Who the fuck… Then it came to me.

I walked over to our window, and that's where I nearly fucking screamed.

The building across the street had all lights off. All but two. Jeff was standing at the window in his apartment, and Rachel was standing at the window in the apartment above. They were both looking straight at me.

Jeff was holding something that looked like a radio. He brought it to his mouth.

Crackling came from headphones again.

"Yup." Is all he said. As he said it, the lights turned off in both of their apartments and I couldn't see anything anymore. My headphones went silent.

If this is a prank they're pulling on me, it's a good one. If it's not a prank, well, here we go again.

After postproduction for the third movement had been completed, Silver Wing media had sent a copy to Zaro.
Zaro was pleased with the music and was very satisfied with himself for making that decision. However, the score was just an accompaniment for a part of "God of War." The movie’s plot differed from that of the music video. Under normal circumstances, Zaro would have just used it right away. This time, he was under heavy pressure and was taking his work seriously. Therefore, after discussing with Silver Wing Media, he forked up another sum for the composer to make some changes in the arrangement to better fit the movie.
Wireless Media had no shortage of arrangers, However, Zaro felt that the original composer would do the job better.
On Silver Wing’s side, the adjustments were done personally by Fang Zhao after Duan Qianji had passed on a clip from "God of War."
In a movie scene, there would be an abundance of sounds. Should the musical score’s arrangement be inappropriate, the sound effects of the movie and the score might affect or conceal the other.
Therefore, when Fang Zhao was producing the revised version, he watched similar movie clips in order to blend it with the music. He made adjustments to the tone, pitch, and tempo, as well as the harmonizing and acoustics. Some of the electronic tones were removed and instead made use of the movies sound effects for a seamless blend.
On Wireless Media’s side, the soundtrack did not garner much attention. Zaro felt that the soundtrack was very suitable for his grand entrance. Zaro’s agent considered the soundtrack to be decent, but he didn't think it would impact the film much.
As the clock approached 11 a.m., the staff of Wireless Media kept their eyes glued to the digital chart, paying attention to the sales for the premiere.
Due to advancements in technology, projection equipment and sound systems had improved tremendously. Besides the major movie theatres in the commerce center of every city, most people could catch movies upon their release directly through the internet.
Actual cinemas were a thing of the past, with the entire industry moving toward an online and virtual direction.
People in every city of Leizhou had readied their projection equipment and prepared themselves. Most just wanted to see what sort of production the famous Zaro Renault showcased this time. Some genuinely just wanted to view the film before writing reviews.
Zaro has specially invited a few of his close friends of the same ilk to watch the premiere in his own luxurious projection room.
"Its starting! Ha ha, let's see how Senior Master saves the world!"
Zaro did not bother checking the amount of online marketing done. Although he was hedonistic, he certainly was not stupid. He knew that the movie could not compare to "King of Snipers," but he had already made a stand and there was no backing down. Having achieved what he had set out to do, box office numbers and reviews were just secondary.
Most people did not have high expectations for "God of War." Just watching the trailer would give one the gist of the plot. In the end, it would just be the age-old plotline of the hero saving the damsel in distress and saving the world. According to people online, watching one of Zaro’s movies was the same as watching all of them.
"God of War" had a simple plot. The male lead was an outstanding soldier in the army. The female lead was a reporter. When a certain metropolis encountered an attack by a monster, the female lead headed to the disaster zone to report. In the time of crisis, the male lead led his team to the rescue, beating the monster and saving the beauty in a happy ending.
Movies should be enjoyable. Logic goes flying out the window when the movie is taken too seriously. Perhaps due to Zaro himself starring in the movie, compared to the previous seven, every single actor and actress, the female lead, and even the extras acted seriously. Every effort was made for the casting as well. Even Zaro, whose acting was not that great, put in a lot of hard work. Unlike the seven movies before, the eighth move was not just an extravagant and pompous affair.
On this note, it was a great improvement.
However, some sharp-sighted members of the audience could immediately tell the similarly sized Zaro from his body double.
These naysayers were quick to point out the parts where the body double stood in. Other than the times where Zaro’s face could be seen, the rest, including his back profile and silhouettes, were done by the body double.
‘Not professional at all, bad review!’
Halfway through the story, the film focused on the disaster-stricken area under attack from the monster. Billowing clouds of black smoke and large scale explosions contrasted with the tiny human figures. The flames threatened to consume as the heavy smoke and dust set a suffocating tone.
The whole scene looked so realistic.
At this moment, those watching this scene had two words popping up in their minds—crappy film.
Commercial films laden with special effects and a cliche plot were a dime a dozen. One glance was more than enough to know how it would turn out. Especially in the New Era where film and television were thriving, a typical film without much logic would be termed by the public as a "crappy film."
Having watched how the film played out, most people already had a gist of the plot; it was similar to what they had expected.
Great. It was about time for Senior Master Zaro’s lead character to lead his troops to save the day. Most people treated this movie as a joke, and now it was time for the highly anticipated climax that the masses had been waiting all along to laugh at.
This movie that Zaro had invested in was melodramatic and lacking in logic, but at least it had a stunning atmosphere and special effects. This redeeming factor made the movie easier to endure.
"Almost there! In a moment you guys can marvel at how the great master steals the thunder!" Zaro exclaimed as he lay on the sofa, excitedly shaking his legs.
At that moment, outside Zaro’s mansion, a flying transport was descending slowly.
For this kind of detached residence, the large garden out front was the landing spot for flying cars and transportation.
Zaro’s housekeeper was busy preparing food and drinks to be brought to the theater. As he saw the descending vehicle, he immediately dropped what he was doing and called out to the rest of the servants in the house to hurry over and welcome the guests. Even though his hair was in a mess, the housekeeper did not raise a finger to fix it. Instead, he stood rooted to the spot as if he were a statue.
When the hum of engines died down, the cabin door opened. The housekeeper and servants dropped their heads lower, afraid to make eye contact. Peeking from the corner of their eyes, all they saw was the boots of a few security personnel.
An elderly man with a head full of white hair stepped out from the transport. The personal doctor beside him raised a hand to offer his support but was waved away.
The elderly man scrutinized the house in front of him with a faint smile. With a slight smile, he sighed. "Seems like it has been more than a decade since I last came." Turning to the respectfully waiting housekeeper, he asked, "Is the young punk Zaro in?"
"The young master is currently in the theater screening the premiere with seven of his friends," the housekeeper replied politely, his voice wavering softly from the nervousness
"Great," the elderly man said as he walked forward.
The housekeeper took a few large strides and opened the doors. Only after the elderly man had entered the room did he raise his head and worriedly glanced across the room. The housekeeper was not worried that Zaro might receive a scolding. Rather, he was concerned that Zaro might get annoyed at this old man. He was no ordinary man; he was the head of the Renault family. Even up to today, many of Leizhou’s top officials paid their respects to the man considered the founding father of Leizhou.
This was the man Zaro addressed as great-grandfather.

Hearing this, I shoved my comments to the side and vigilantly stared around me. I could feel a bunch of eyes staring at me from the darkness. oh yeah did I mention how it's night time? Why don't you just throw me in Hell while your at it!

'I better get to a safe place.'

During this time I've been slaying Magical Beasts of the Forest. The amount of songs I've gone through was a LOT and it sometimes got annoying because they would give me random attributes at one point I even got Charm x5 which was pretty f**king useless.

Luckily though I managed to Level Up many of my attributes.

I slowly calm down, and realized something weird. Ever since I've entered Fiore, people have been staring at me weirdly. I then remembered that I probably looked like a beggar! I've been fighting Magical Beasts in the Forest for a month and a half my clothes have been turned to rags and I should be covered in dirt and blood.
'F*ck!'

'Good thing I put my Weapon back in my storage or else they would see me even weirder!'

"Hey, young boy are you ok?"

I turned around and see a dark blue haired man with a bit of a stubble on his face holding a sack over his shoulder.

'It's Macao! He's a friendly guy. I should tell him I want to join their Guild.' 

"I want to join Fairy Tail!"

"Hahahaha, Kid, where the heck did you come from?"

'I should probably tell him the story the System gave me.'

"I don't know mister."

<(Macao's POV) : 'Where the heck did this kid come from? Poor kid he dressed in rags and is covered in filth. He doesn't know? Maybe he lost his memory? I should take care of him meanwhile he recovers his memories. After he recovers them I will take him to his family.'>

So I'll make it sound as my family had some sort of accident by looking really pitiful. Plus the characters of Fairy Tail have always been kind of gullible.'

His eyes suddenly turned gentle and filled with sympathy.

The night at Eiders was dangerous, especially after the night of the Blood Moon. No one knew what kind of monsters were hiding in the darkness that their sight couldn't reach.
Therefore, the people of Eiders hurried home during the evening. They shut their doors and windows, placed forks and bats that could act as weapons in reachable place. Even for those who had to go out at night, they chose to go out in groups, arming themselves like the Spec Ops members.
A group of five Spec Ops members were traveling in a car and slowly driving along the street. Even though the car had its high light on, it couldn't shine further than five meters in front, as darkness devoured even light.
"Damn it."
The patrol leader, who drove the car, cursed. He chose to slow down the car even further while the other four turned their heads and looked around.
The supposedly bright street lamps were blurry in the darkness, as if mist had flooded Eiders. It made the Spec Ops members on watch subconsciously hold their weapons tighter.
As part of the Special Operation Division, the men hadn't appeared on the street at this time for a stroll, they were there for night patrol.
Based on the consecutive cases of monster attacks, the intelligence department was shrinking down the areas where the monsters could be active.
The street that they were traveling on now was clearly one of those areas.
The car slowly drove through the street, but none of them noticed anything unusual.
Slightly disappointed, the Spec Ops members in the car heaved a small breath of relief—because of their duty, they didn't mind engaging monsters in battle, but if they could, they would rather be safe as well.
The patrol leader picked up the wireless walkie talkie.
"Calling control, this is No.6 Patrol. No unusual sightings. Over. We will continue our patrol. Over."
"This is control. Understood, over." Wier's voice came from the wireless walkie talkie.
The patrol leader turned the car around and started their second round of patrol based on the designated route.
However, compared to the apprehensive first round, the members of No.6 Patrol were a lot more relaxed. Based on their experience in fighting monsters, the first time was always the most dangerous, and if they didn't encounter any danger in the first round, the danger level would decrease greatly, which was basically safe for the night.
"Hey leader, what kind of monster do you think it is?" the young man in the middle of the backseat asked softly.
"I don't know." The patrol leader shook his head.
"Some say it's the Ghouls, but aren't Ghouls extinct in Eiders? How could they appear again?" the young man asked.
"Who knows? After the Blood Moon incident, Eiders became weird. In short two weeks, there have been almost 20 cases of monster attacks." The patrol leader sighed.
"And that's not all, I've heard that some cases were covered up by really powerful figures! They…"
"Quiet!"
The young man still wanted to say more but was stopped by the patrol leader and the vice leader in the passenger seat. Two of the eldest members of No.6 Patrol looked at the youngest member with stern eyes.
"Never mention that case again," the leader emphasized.
"Remember, not even a word!" the vice leader reminded him.
Both of the seniors loved the youngest member of the group and as members of No. 6 Patrol, they had been through life and death together, forming a strong bond between them; they even considered each other as family.
Therefore, they didn't want anything to happen to the youngest member.
The young man was stunned before quickly reacting to the situation.
He smiled awkwardly while scratching the back of his head and just when he was about to say something, the slow moving car suffered a huge impact from the flank.
Bang!
The huge impact flipped the car around with the five members inside.
A huge humanoid figure as tall as three meters appeared from the darkness. It lifted its big hand and tore away the car door like it was tearing a piece of paper.
Then, it reached toward the Spec Ops members and tried to grab them.
Bang Bang Bang Bang!
Five assault rifles fired out at once at the monster. Muzzle flash shone and loud bangs echoed throughout the street.
The huge figure was shot backwards but it didn't seem to suffer any damage. The bullets that could perforate flesh weren't effective. It was like firing into a steel plate, causing sparks on impact.
"Ghoul!"
Under the blurry light, the patrol leader saw the face of the huge figure and once he matched the face with the records of the monsters in his mind, his heart skipped a beat.
"Call for backup!"
A hurried shout later, the leader squeezed out from the flipped car, reloaded the gun in his hand and fired at the Ghoul once more.
"Calling back up! No. 6 calling for backup!" The vice leader shouted at the walkie talkie.
The other three also squeezed out of the car and tried to buy more time for the vice leader.
However, they seemed to have underestimated the Ghoul before them.
After faltering before the sudden gunshots, the Ghoul growled loudly out of anger. Its body engorging another round, it withstood the bulletstorm and dashed towards the flipped car like an angry rhino. A hard push and crash later, the car was sent flying towards the three members.
The three managed to escape the incoming car in an ugly state but the Ghoul then extended its hand to grab them.
"SCRAM! MONSTER!" The patrol leader shouted loudly. 
He gripped the assault rifle tightly, squeezing the trigger repeatedly while his other hand reached towards the grenade at his waist. He began charging towards the monster, which showed its back to him, but a black figure was quicker.
Sou!
Like a sudden gale, the black figure grazed the Ghoul.
"Aaaaargh!"
An unprecedented loud roar exploded from the Ghoul, it sounded like it was in… pain?
Then, with that, the members of No. 6 Patrol watched as the Ghoul that was immune to bullets fell to the ground.
In the Ghoul's back was an obvious cut, and in the black figure's hand was a big heart that was still beating.
Then—
Pak!
The Ghoul's beating heart was crushed into a pool of blood.
"Lord D!"
The patrol leader recognized the person at first glance and quickly called out in surprise.
"Take care of your comrades."
Bloody Mary, the High Demon, told the leader this before its body turned into nothingness.
Loud engine sounds were coming from further away.
According to Kieran's orders, Blood Mary's mission did not consist of talking to the Spec Ops members.
Although it preferred this kind of mission, once it thought about Kieran watching its every move, Bloody Mary helplessly gave up the appealing thought.
Defying Kieran's order was scary for Bloody Mary.
Since Kieran spent Points in summoning the High Demon, should it defy Kieran's orders, it would be like the wrath of the heavens!
The High Demon knew how stingy its master was and also how smart he was.
Moving quickly, it felt like it was being watched by a faint gaze from the dark. Bloody Mary pretended nothing had happened and continued forward.
Then, it quietly waited for the arrival of death.
Aren't I bait?
It's nothing, it's not the first time anyway.
I am used to it.
The thoughts popped in Bloody Mary's heart but the scene that happened next shook the High Demon despite it preparing itself for death.

KATATAPOS lang ng shift ko. Nandito ako sa locker ngayon at nagbibihis. 
I put my wireless headset in my ear and call Chris. 

After three rings, Chris answered. 

"Hello mom? Are you going home? Dad is out." pagbabalita nito sa kanya. 

I roll my eyes. I know, son. But I did not say it. 

"How are you? How's Ruthy?" I ask. Changing the topic. 

I just wear short and backless sando. Pinatungan ko lang ng cardigan para di ako lamigin. I wear my sandals. Good to go. 

"Ang gagwapo nila no? Yiiieehh!" 

"Oo nga! Lalo na yung isa." 

Narinig nyang chismisan ng bagong pasok. Nang makita sya ng mga ito ay binati sya. 

"Goodevening po Ma'am Sindy."

"Goodevening Ma'am." 

Ngumiti sya sa mga ito. 

"Hello ladies, goodevening." bati nya. "Una na ako sa inyo ha?" Paalam nya at naglakad na. 

Chris is still on the other line. 

"Chris?" tawag nya sa anak. 

"Yes, mom. I'm here. Ruth is already asleep." 

"And why is my baby is still awake?" Tanong nya sa malambing na tono.

"I am waiting for you, mom. I miss you" 

Napangiti sya. Pero ang ngiting iyon ay nawala sa nakita. 

Christian is carrying a lady like they are newly weds. Nakayupyop ang babae sa dibdib nito at naka palibot ang kamay ng babae sa leeg ng dating asawa. Napatigil sya. It's like she is watching a romance movie. Live. 

Her heart beats fast. It's hurts! 

"Mom? Still there?" ang boses ng anak nya ang napabalik sa kanya ulirat. 

"A-ah, yes anak." 

She started walking again. Muntik pa syang mapa atras ng magtama ang mga mata nila ng dating asawa. 

"Sindy?" tawag nito sa patanong na boses. 

I just stared at him. Bumaba ang tingin ko sa babaeng karga nya.

"I can explain .."  Christian said. 

Magsasalita pa sana ito ng dumating ang mga kaibigan nito. 

Nanlalaki ang mga matang tumingin sa akin. 

She smile a little. 

"Ahm, una na ako." nahihiyang sabi ko. I feel so awkward around them.

Hindi na ako tumingin pa kay Christian. I will be hurting my heart again. 

"Anak, I'll hang up. See you at home. Babye. I love you." I say as I ended the call. 

Nagmadali akong maglakad. Pero bago ko pa mabuksan ang pinto ng kotse ko ay may kamay na pumigil sa akin. 

Bago pa ako makalingon ay nagsalita na ang taong pumigil sa akin. 

"Sindy. ." napapikit ako ng mariin. 

"What are you doing here Christian?" I ask. Still not looking at him. 

"I - I .. F*ck!" rinig kong mura nya. 

I look at him and raise my eyebrow. 

"Did you just cuss at me De Asis?" Tanong ko sa mapanganib na tono. 

"Yes, No! Of course not!" 

"Again, why are you here?" ulit ko. 

"I- It's not what you think it is okay?" 

"Why? What do you think I'm thinking Christian?" Tanong ko sa kanya. 

I am looking at him. He seems off. 

Nang hindi ito magsalita, nagpatuloy sya.

I can't look at Christian. He might see the feeling inside me. I am bitter. I am jealous. 

"Sindy .." tawag nito sa akin. He tried to touch my face, but failed. 

"I gotta go. Chris is waiting for me." I said. 

But the moment I try to open my door again, he close it. 

"What the f*ck is wrong with you Christian?" Napipika na ako sa kanya. 

But instead of answering. He touch my face and claim my lips. 

Sa gulat ko ay hindi na ako nakalaban pa. But I not respond to his kiss either. 

The feeling is like just before. Its enchanting and magical. Nothing has change. He has the same effect on me. I'm doomed.

He did not move his lips, but stayed at it. 

"You have all the right, wife." he said after pulling away. 

My eyes widens and my mind got puzzle. Did he just call me wife? Did i hear it right? Or not .?

I left her because she was not the same person as before. 

Her body changes. It's not sexy anymore.

She becomes moody without reason. 

And the feeling of being in love with her vanished. 

So i decided to end it. 

I know we have a child. 

And as much as I want a happy family for Chris, I can not take it anymore. 

I know I can be a father to him without me and his mom being together. 

   

Today was like another day except today is when  The new applicants came to Middleton Academy to move into the dorms. Since I lived here since I was young I was awaiting to meet the person whoIam going to share a dorm with. Which I wasn't excited about.  Because I absolutely hate meeting new people . And everyone who already was living in the dorms and didn't have a dorm partner yet had to preform a  routine by standing out in front of our door wearing our uniforms with the with our dorm door open to welcome the new applicants to our dorm . And it was a hot summer day and the ac wasn't working in my  building . And  The uniform was long sleeves jacket  with a long sleeve white button up shirt with a long tie with pants on and to top it all Off the color of the pants were a very dark navy blue .a half hour later I saw this cute 5'2 boy around my age ,with fluffly red hair,that was being kept down with a flower crown ,and had light grey wireless beats around his neck wearing a over sized cat eared hoodie with black short-shorts and mid-thigh cat socks on and knee high black lace boots. With a bunch of confidence he put out his hand for a shake and said "hi my name is Caleb stead and I was told this was my room I'd be sharing with a Sean. So is that you? "instead I grabbed his hand and pulled him inside. And When I touched his hand it was so warm I never wanted to let go .instead I just told him" yes, my name is Sean we will be sharing a bed but first  put down all of your bags Caleb.and I'm sorry if I'm coming off as a little to harsh it's just I don't like talking to people I don't know. I bet you're a nice guy but I just don't trust strangers ."and he just responded with " then let's get to know each other better then bit by bit but only if your ok with it. So are you ok with it?" I then hug him and whisper into his ear good for you .that you are really cute or else I wouldn't do this."and then  immediately after I said that I started to lick and bit his ear.then adventally going to the living room on the  couch laying down and I started kissing him with  tongue. And once we got to a certain point of kissing he said "why do academy boy have to be so god damm hot .hummph...oh shit did I say that out loud I'm sorry." "Oh don't worry about,"my wolf ears and tail popped out and I continued to talk "oh,and sorry for randomly kissing you with tongue I just wanted to claim you before any of the other guys did so now can I ask you this will you think about the possibility of being my boyfriend once you got to know me better or right now???"Caleb response was" wait, boyfriend? Yes,maybe, I don't know, can you give me some time to process this." " yeah, anything for my future lover .oh,and your room is in the same hallway as mine so you don't have to worry about to much. And there is already a bed in there so you can sleep in it since it's already really late so good night I'll see you in the morning Caleb." I said while waving goodbye and heading to my room. Caleb asked," what's your name???" "oh sorry I didn't tell you my name is Damien and you probably know my last name my dad is the headmaster of the school and don't believe any of the rumors about me they all are fake, "I told Caleb this while thinking how I wanted to continue but why it felt a little too awkward and I didn't know why I acted this way with him I never felt that way but I want to fell like that again good thing I marked him or else who knows what would of happened to him. well I better unpack before I get called down by my dad I'll probably get yelled at since he sees me as a mistake [shrugs]. I'll probally just come back with scars and bruses but who care it's now a annual thing so why get so hung up about it.
