"Yes, I do. I'm planning to earn my living that way. A publisher was looking for a part-time proofreader, so I confidently applied for the position."
This guy still came across as somewhat unreliable, but she couldn't get anyone else to help her, anyway. She definitely couldn't get the help from the 'daytime ego', for instance. A lot of her strength had been exhausted and her forgetfulness had worsened greatly in recent times so it took a lot out of her just to post a reply to Kim Dok-Ja's comments.

While writing that sentence, Han Su-Yeong thought that her life wasn't all that different from Yu Jung-Hyeok's, in some ways.

Han Su-Yeong summoned the Dokkaebi King right away. When she did, the creature wearing a fedora appeared from the thin air accompanied by the 'Tsu-chuchut!' noise.
She asked. "Did you write this?"
"Yes."
"On whose authority?"
"I sincerely apologise for not getting your permission beforehand. You seemed very tired lately."
Han Su-Yeong quietly stared at the Dokkaebi King.
This creature came to this world searching for its 'god'. And it now knew who its creator was.
"Just what are you aiming for?"
"I am merely a 'storyteller'. And as it is with every storyteller, I love to tell a great epic. The world you have created, of course."
"There is only one reader of this story, though."
"Do you really believe so?"
She narrowed her eyes and shot back. "I already know what you're scheming, okay? You're planning to turn my novel into a 'paid service', aren't you?"
Ever since arriving in this world, she constantly thought about 'that day'.
The novel she wrote would become the 'scenario' that would go on to destroy this universe. However, who would dare to do something so horrifying like that? The answer was quite simple when she thought about it.
There was only one existence capable of doing something like that in this world-line, after all.
"You brought me here for that very purpose, didn't you?"
"I won't deny that. Even though it hadn't been long since I realised what my true role was."
Faint sparks were dancing all over the Dokkaebi King's body. That was the evidence of the system's Probability growing stronger. Also, it meant that this Dokkaebi was gradually regaining the power of the King of the storytellers.
Han Su-Yeong stared at the dancing sparks before speaking up. "....So, then. The apocalypse will really begin, is that it?"
"Yes."
"Honestly, I don't get it at all. You know the chronological sequence doesn't make sense, either."
"....The chronological sequence?"
"The only reason why I can write this is because Yu Jung-Hyeok will live his life in the future, and Kim Dok-Ja had read the novel. But for me to write a novel that Kim Dok-Ja will read, that's...."

The stray thoughts and fragments of letters she had thrown around could be found in there.

Some scenes became futures despite being written earlier, while some scenes, despite being written later, became the past. Han Su-Yeong's eyes trembled. ".....Are you saying this whole universe is just a novel?"
"If I am to compare it, then yes, something like that."
The letters within the screen seemed to ripple. Letters wishing to be loved by someone were flowing outside the monitor after forming pairs and groups with each other.

"Big sis! Big sis! What are you reading?" the little boy went left and right trying to get the lady's attention. When the maid saw this, she tried to hold on to the little boy only to fail. The maid miserable situation caught the lady's eyes as she reprimanded the little boy from running around.

"Little pumpkin, stop running now," she said and looked at the maid with apologetic eyes.

"Sorry for that and thank you for bringing him here," she spoke in a humble voice. The maid simply smiled as she shook her head. 

"It's my pleasure. I'll be off now. I'll send someone to bring beverages and snacks for the two of you," the maid curtsied before leaving the room. As she closed the door, she took one last glance at the people inside the room. A warm smile was on her face when she saw the grown-up woman and her little brother teased each other. Since the two came to the villa, her work as a maid had increased a little and so were the other workers. Not that they resented it, but more to gratefulness. Working in the villa...well, if she had to summarise it, she would say that working here was boring. The reason because they only served one person which was the Master of their clan and the villa's owner.

Perhaps to others, it was a wonderful working environment, but to them who generation by generation worked with the goal of helping the Master of Wu clan by any means possible, doing nothing was similar to torture. Although Master Eric was the best master they had ever served, his organized life left them with nothing extra to do. Besides, his intimidating aura forced them to stick with their daily chores, afraid to ask for more tasks. 

However, things got livelier since the pair of siblings came to the villa. Not only their jobs increased, but they also get the chance to witness their aloof Master playing around with the little boy. It wasn't only a one-time occurrence, but many times. Plus, it was rare to see someone picking a fight with their Master. The woman who day by day was getting prettier was the only one capable of doing that. She seemed timid at first, but when meeting with their Master's constant provocation, she became the tigress that could match with their Master's lioness. 

The maid entered the kitchen and requested the chef to prepare the snacks and drinks she spoke of earlier. 

"Madam Clair, can I bring the foods to Miss Bella and Young Master Ryan?" a woman approached the maid who just entered the kitchen. She was the youngest maid in the villa, although her age wasn't considered to be young. This maid was already twenty-nine years old.

"I want to ask Miss Bella for her beauty secret. Her skin is so supple. She might be small, but she looked like an angel with her long curly hair," the young maid continued with a series of complement for Bella Lim. She only stopped when Madam Clair shoved the tray with foods to her hands.

"Aye... thank you Madam Clair!" the young maid almost jumped in joy. She left the room in a hurry, slowing down only when scolded by Madam Clair.

"Don't ask too much. Remember, we work for the people in this villa, disturbing their daily life isn't our jobs," Madam Clair reminded the young maid. 

"Sure, but Miss Bella is kind," the young maid halted as she looked around. Admiration was in her eyes when she talked about Bella Lim.

"Still, just leave the tray there. Better yet, don't ask anything. Miss Bella seems a bit down nowadays," Madam Clair insisted. She was old enough to see through people and the past three days were obviously a difficult phase for Miss Bella. Even though she appeared cheerful and often laughed, when she was alone, she often caught her looking sad and angry.

"S-sure..." the young maid uttered after seeing the serious look on Madam Clair. Yet, she still left the room excitedly.

Madam Clair could only shake her head in resignation. Almost all maids wanted to serve Miss Bella because she wasn't just pretty but kind as well. Moreover, she had little pumpkin by her side who often made them laughed their heart out with his mischievousness.

'Ahh, the Master is changing as well,' Madam Clair thought as she resumed her work per normal.

Inside the writing studio, Bella Lim; the pretty lady described earlier was explaining to little pumpkin the thing she was reading. Since Eric Wu had permitted her to tell little pumpkin about her job, she didn't hesitate to talk about the new gem of Enlai Gong. Besides, little pumpkin was already old enough to understand the meaning of secret. He was determined to keep Enlai Gong's true identity even to his grave... so he said.

"Woah... big brother Eric really wrote this?" little pumpkin was holding the manuscript Bella Lim was reading earlier. He flipped through the pages without speaking anything. Suddenly he laughed with his whole body shaking.

"What's so funny?" Bella Lim frowned, wondering if there was a comedic scene written in the manuscript. 

"Big sis, what with this scribble?" little pumpkin showed the paper he was reading. Bella Lim tilted her head to have a look. When she saw her own writing, she gave a gentle twist on little pumpkin's left ear.

"Oh, little pumpkin knows how to tease big sis now?" with a stern face, she rose her voice. Little pumpkin pursed his lips and vigorously shook his head.

"Not dare! Little pumpkin is sorry," he denied, waving his hands. He understood that his big sis was just showing an angry facade so he decided to play along. "Ouch, ouch, ouch! big sis! Please spare me!" he screamed and began to cry. Seeing this, Bella Lim could no longer continue her act. 

"Does it really hurt?" worried, she looked intently at little pumpkin's ear to see any mark. However, she didn't see anything.

"Hehehe, got you, big sis!" little pumpkin put the manuscript on the table and ran away. Bella Lim finally saw what he was planning and chased for the little boy. She couldn't believe that she just got played by her own little pumpkin.

"You little devil!" she yelled while pretending to chase the little boy with all her heart. At the same time, the door of the writing studio was opened by someone. The young maid who was holding a tray was shocked to see the scene in front of her. Little pumpkin was now on top of Bella Lim, tickling the poor big sister who had to yield to his antics.

"Erm.., M-miss Bella?" a nervous voice interrupted the pair of siblings who were laughing non-stopped. 

Bella Lim heard the voice, so she quickly got up and fixed little pumpkin's disheveled hair. The little boy was still giggling although she already asked him to stop. Shaking her head, Bella Lim looked at the door to see the person who entered the room. A maid was standing there with a tray in her hand. 

"Sis Tiara, sorry to let you see the mess earlier," Bella Lim walked to the maid that she was so familiar with and took the tray in her hand. "Thank you," she thanked her.

The young maid called Tiara was startled as she finally woke up from the surprised she had earlier. She couldn't believe that the beautiful woman would show such a fun side of her. That was something she had never seen before. 

"Miss Bella, l-let me carry this. Young Master Ryan, the chef has prepared your favorite sweets," Tiara took the tray from Bella Lim and walked towards the round table at the cozy area near the fireplace. She placed the tray on top of it and watched little pumpkin approached the table with pure joy in his eyes. 

"Careful!" a nervous voice reminded the little boy to mind his steps. He slowed down and carefully crafted his way to the table. Tiara shifted her gaze to the owner of the voice and a gasp of adoration left her lips. 

'Miss Bella is small but honestly so pretty. With the proper attire, she will be stunning. It's a pity, she loved this comfy attire,' Tiara was immersed in her own thought. 

'But, she still the prettiest woman I've ever seen,' she continued to be mesmerized by Bella Lim's beauty, not realizing that the source of admiration was staring at her in amusement.

"Sis Tiara, you've something to say?" the crispy voice of Bella Lim made the maid puffed in shock. 

"M-miss Bella, I heard you're a bit down nowadays. I-I... please cheer up!" Tiara closed her eyes as she tried her best to enunciate each word. Then, she ran out of the room without looking back.

Bella Lim was perplexed as she didn't expect to see someone tried so hard to cheer her up despite being so nervous. She had noticed long ago that the maid was always looking at her secretly from afar. When she smiled at her, she immediately cut their eye contact and ran away. Today was the first time she saw her up close. When she spoke, it reminded her of the time she used to panic when talking with Eric Wu. Somehow, she found her cute.

At the same time, she thought about the reason she cheered her up. It seemed that she was still affected by what had happened that even the maid could tell that she was depressed.

It had been three days since the night she had a very long discussion with Eric Wu and Lu Fei. It was a fruitful night but a frustrating one at the same time. In the end, they couldn't find the reason why she, who was deemed to be dead was still alive. The riddle was still unsolved to this day...

"Big sis, your phone is ringing," little pumpkin called for his big sis while munching the chocolate chip cookies he had on both hands. Bella Lim took a deep breath and nodded. She smiled while rubbing little pumpkin's head before reaching for her phone on the table.

"Madam Olivia?" she read the dialer's name aloud, attracting little pumpkin's attention.

"Madam Olivia is calling?" he asked interestedly. 

"Uhuh," Bella Lim smiled at little pumpkin. It was understandable why he was interested in that name for Madam Olivia was like a mother figure to him. She too felt the same, the warm feeling she got while being with her was what she loved the most. Their meeting before was short but memorable. 

Bella Lim wondered why she called her all of a sudden.

It is now the twentieth of december. Arcturus's assassin had agreed to kill Lucius once arcturus made a vow about his actions against the house black and narcissa in particular. It was decided that Lucius would be offed when he went to get some gold out of gringotts in the next few days. Lucius would be as dead as a doornail in four days, it was going to be an incredible Christmas gift for mother.
           Either way last night while practicing and improving my occlumency i managed to locate the so called magical core which I have to say was a incredibly awesome thing. Turns out not every occlumens can do that which made me feel accomplished I suppose. Either way I was now on my way to the potions lab in our manor I was about to start with my days potions which in all honesty was not as easy as I make it sound mom would give me an hour long lecture on every aspect of a potion, it's ingredients and why the various cuts and slices and what not. After that I was expected to make the potion, from memory mind you and come up with a potion that would receive at least and acceptable in examinations on the first try.
           Yeah snape was actually pretty easy going compared to the demon that is my mother when she was educating me. Either way today was a cure for the common cold. Apparently the cold would be cured once you guzzled this foul tasting concoction down. This potion alone would give me a kickass profitable venture in any future world's because lets face it the cold would exist till the end of times maybe longer and the potion was actually easy to make though was slightly convoluted to make.
        Either way in I go and I have to tell you this unlike the stupid bullcrap portrayed in the movie a potions laboratory had to be incredibly well maintained. I met Snape last week when he came to visit mother turns out he is the potions expert that has been referring my case with my mother. When he spoke to me about potions at length, I have to give him that though I don't believe I'll ever be half as good a potions master. When I asked my mother after he left why he had such a bad reputation for being a terrible teacher my mother told me that it was part of the deal dumbledore made on his behalf with the ministry.
        He never wanted to be a teacher but after voldemort's death when he was put on trial and dumbledore vouched for him the ministry in a shocking moment of competency insisted that he be kept under semi permanent watch because let's face it still, a criminal and dumbledore suggested that they use him to train the future of the society. This was done I believe without his consent so he keeps trying to get fired but for some reason dumbledore wouldn't fire him I suppose it's because he wants to have spy handy for when Voldemort returns.
        But he did enjoy teaching actually experienced potion makers as he was more the guy you went to turn apprentices into masters not novices into apprentices. So I really hoped that when I opened up my job system he would agree to train me up faster than the average Hogwarts curriculum. Because let's be honest from canon it's pretty clear education in Hogwarts wasn't really worth shit when potter was there .
        The only subjects worth mentioning were transfiguration, charms and herbology the rest were basically useless except for the runes and arithmancy class which I didn't  know anything about. About arithmancy I understood that it was used mostly in used in creating spell matrices and analysis, which was used in creation of spells and spell specific shields and the like. I planned on learning it right after I finished with at least Hogwarts level potions or runes whichever cane first I'd do more in both those subjects but it wasn't like you would be a master in the subjects at eighteen if you worked really hard even Snape who was an absolute genius took to the age of 23 before he could be certified as a potions master.
        Of all the things that I planned on achieving in this world the three top most subjects would have to be runes, arithmancy and potions. Sure I have other long term plans but other than wanded magic these three were the first topics I planned on studying first jobs would also be in those topics. Either way into the lion's den we go or would it be the serpents pit?..
           I have to give this to mother her lab was very, very good. The cauldrons were excellent, the workstations all had special one use runic shields to prevent explosions. Well in case my potion exploded my mother was the thing I needed to be worried about not the explosion itself. Mom and Snape actually took a few pointers from the Muggle world and had me wear a clear mask enchanted to filter out any and all potion fumes which was kinda neat made me feel like I was wearing a magical hazmat mask.
         Either way I see mom already waiting for me in the lab the minute I step in the lecture begins. Snape had it right in the opening speech in philosopher's stone what with the subtle science and exact art he mentioned. It was indeed an exact art, in potioneering every stir and ingredient addition was done for a damned good reason. Great potioneers like healers and the like could salvage a potion if they screwed up the begining but most students would never reach that level in Hogwarts itself. In all honesty I was amazed that magic would hold such an amazing amount of science what with arithmancy potions and runes which were kinda like the programming of magic itself.
             After an hour's worth of instruction in which she quizzed me on ingredient properties that I have already used she deems me worthy of trying out my first second year potion which was kinda amazing considering I was only trained for four months though my education was much more impressive than the students at Hogwarts were getting.  Though I had more than an hour's lecture and practical everyday which was more than half a week's work in Hogwarts. When I stated my potion I was sure that I'd have an actual exceeds expectations level potion which would be good as this would be my first second year potion and the difference was clearly visible though the brew time was the same the amount of ingredients was about larger and the amount of steps in the brewing process had nearly doubled.
           Either way I was done and as far as I could tell the potion colour was a close maybe even perfect match to the colour mentioned in the textbook. Anyway seeing me done mother immediately comes by pours the potion into a vial which was enchanted to be bigger on the inside and checked for consistency and impurities and the like while the pouring took place and said, "well it's good not perfect mind you but that will only happen with actual brewing experience and when the motions of potion making are embedded into your muscles and not just your mind. I'd call it an exceeds expectations and grant you maybe 89 out of a hundred score." 
          The moment she said that I heard a ding inside my head and a message popped up on my HUD I guess saying level up

        Since my occlumecy wasn't that strong yet and a ten percent boost sounded better after a month more of pouring my magic into my barriers and my rune reading was just begining I chose the novice potioneers job. 
       I also had a message from Loki saying as encouragement to me the ranking system had been added and that i would receive a rank for every ten jobs I do and I'd get an extra wish for every five ranks when I enter the next world.
       Which meant if have an extra wish for the next world of I managed to complete at least 50 jobs. This was very good news as this was my training world and I would be able to power level a lotta jobs in this particular universe. 
       Also he told me that all my permanent companions would be able to use the system as well but Their boosts for any job would be half of mine so if someone recieves the same novice potioneers job Thier boost would be worth only five percent each. 
      But I would only be able to choose it for two people in this world and I don't know who I'll choose probably some one my age or maybe my mother but my mother will be an issue, as she might die of old age before I manage to actually make a philosophers stone unless I stole flamels which was indeed an option but enough for now. I had something to show my mother as now I did have proof as I could volunteer to show my status to anyone I wanted hence proof.

Under the persuasion from Li Du, Hans expanded the area of their operations. With that, there would be more storage companies for them to choose from.
It was nearing the end of July. After the heavy rains, Flagstaff once again returned to its warm weather.
With a back full of sweat, Hans found a new storage company. The location was in Kingman, a small city northwest of Flagstaff.

Kingman was about 150 miles from Flagstaff. With the speed of the Iron Knight, they would reach there in two hours.

Kingman was in the center of Arizona, where Mohave County was. It was once thought to be the most barren area in West America; the landscape was wild and open, with little architecture.
It was due to these reasons, that some immigrants chose to live in Kingman.
Though it did not seem like a well-off place, the population was low. There was less job competition, so for immigrants that were lacking social networks after coming to America, Kingman was a great choice.
Many immigrants were tenacious. With their strength and knowledge, even a desolate place like Kingman could become a place of potential after their efforts.
To get to Kingman from Flagstaff, they had to travel on Route 66. The highway was about 2,500 miles long, and was famous all over the country, nicknamed the "Mother Road."
Route 66 started in Chicago, and went through Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Arizona, cutting to Los Angeles and stretching to Santa Monica. Across eight states and three time zones, it was incredible!
As for the nickname, not only did the highway connect the east and west regions of the country, it had once saved the economies of the villages along it.
In the 19th century, Route 66 had just been a bunch of different roads for horse carriages.
In 1926, the American government’s investment had connected the roads together after decades of labor.
During this period, it had become the "Silk Road" of the Western World.
This engineering had created tens of thousands of jobs during a tough time in America, and construction on the road became a lifeline for the workers in nearby towns.
Many legends had spawned from this road. Hans told them to Li Du for the entire two-hour road trip, and time passed quickly. When Hans was about to stop talking, the city districts of Kingman had appeared.
Li Du looked out the window. The place felt like an ancient town to him.
Route 66 had penetrated the town and become an arterial road. Several rustic motels and gas stations were on both sides of the road, along with a multitude of antique buildings; Li Du guessed that they were possibly built in the 19th century.
He pointed them out to Hans, who replied with a laugh, "You’re correct. They are leftovers from the 19th century, national treasures now."
Amongst the old buildings, there was a museum, which was the Historic Route 66 Museum.
Li Du was exclaimed in amazement, "This highway is really popular. There’s even a museum for it."
Hans said lazily, "Of course, didn’t I’d just introduce it to you on the road?"
There were free parking lots in front of the museum, and Godzilla decided to park there. There were motels and restaurants around. Even the storage company whose auction they were going to attend was nearby.
Since they had parked here, Li Du went to purchase a ticket to tour the museum.
Since the last time he had been with Sophie, hearing her talk about the states outside of Arizona had changed Li’s work attitude.
Due to the nature of the storage auction business, treasure hunters had to travel all over America. Li Du wanted to learn more about the nation’s geography and culture while he was treasure hunting.
He was considering that perhaps, in the future, he could have a road trip around the western regions of America, or even the whole of America.
Although the museum was mainly about the highway, there were still quite a number of exhibitions.
Once he entered, he saw a bunch of manuscripts in a showcase.
"This is the manuscript of ‘The Grapes of Wrath,’ by John Steinbeck," Hans introduced. "It was written in 1939, which he was then awarded the Pulitzer Prize for.
"The nickname of Route 66 also originated from it. Steinbeck was the first to call it ‘The Mother Road.’ Everyone started using this nickname after him."
Besides literary manuscripts, there was also a musical manuscript. It was a piece of work from Jazz composer, Bobby Troupe.
While driving down Route 66 to California, this composer wrote one of the most famous songs of his life, "Get Your Kicks On Route 66."
Through another famous singer, Nat King Cole, the song became an instant hit, and brought Troupe to the height of his career.
Besides literature and music, there were also other things relating to the highway in the museum.
CBS Station had once aired a television series called "Route 66," from 1960 to 1964. A television in the museum was replaying this series.
There were also some documentaries on Route 66. These could be recorded by visitors as long as they had a ticket, which was one of the ways for the museum to attract visitors.
Li Du burned some of the documentaries into some discs.
Before attending the auction, there would be lots of free time. Watching these documentaries would be a good way to pass the time.
"Where will we be staying?" Li Du asked as he packed up the discs.
Hans pointed to the south and said, "Neon Motel. If you want to properly experience the West, then you have to stay there."
The motel had outrageous neon lights on display; the whole motel was decorated with them. Although it didn’t look like much in the day, once night fell, it was an unimaginable sight.
However, the building itself was fairly aged. The renovation style seemed to be of the last century: rough, simple and practical, like the homes of cowboys from the West.
After Hans made the payment, they had lunch in the motel.
"The food’s pretty good, buddy. Neon Motel has been in operation for a century. They have been hiring cooks and waiters from the countryside since they opened, which has preserved the original flavor of the West."
As he listened to Hans’s explanations, Li Du flipped open the menu, and started laughing.

Their family was on the verge of selling their house if they couldn't find enough money in at most half a year. Just because Suraj's father was a man with a good morals and connections was he able to hold off the debtors from making them sell his house.

Suraj had just finished high-school and was waiting for his results. He straight went into doing jobs. He got himself three part-time jobs that took up eighteen hours a day; six hours for each job whereas he would always sleep for four hours or less.

Alas, he was not used to working and living such an intense lifestyle. Within one month of such intense lifestyle, he collapsed at the cafe he was working at. The cafe owner was shrewd and of bad moral, so he just called his family and didn't even take Suraj to hospital.

Suraj's brother, Rakesh, who was barely fifteen and his mom, Gauri came to the cafe and took Suraj to the hospital while cursing the cafe owner for not even taking Suraj to the hospital.

2 years later.

  Life has definitely take the turn for the better. Life no longer consists of bruises and busted lips. I ran from a life that would have one day put me in an early grave. After the what happened with Connor I ran home, to Winnfield Louisiana. I told my parents everything, I mean what choice did I really have. I showed up out of the blue, bruised and covered in dried blood. They help me get back on my feet, they help me really reclaim my life after a year and a half. 
  
Now I live in the small town of Stardust Hills, South Carolina. 
I will not lie to you, I still have not looked back to see what else transpired that night after I ran. I promised myself that I wouldn't because I deserve to move on and live a better life.

  Sometimes in life, I just feel like Monday is an asshole to wake up to. Monday means that I have to change out of my black boxers and white V neck that I have been wearing since Friday night. It also means that I have to take my hair out of my messy bun and actually attempt to curl or straighten it.   
  I quickly hurry out of bed and get into the shower. I mean, you would think it was needed after not taking one since Friday night and it now being Monday morning. After my shower, I pick out my normal business attire, but I try to spruce it up a tad today. I work at Johnson Inc. as a reader. My job is basically reading every manuscript that comes in for publishing, so I pretty much get paid to read all day criticizing story lines, characters, climaxes, etc. This is what I have always dreamed of doing, my ultimate dream job. I really have my Dad to thank for this amazing opportunity. He went to collage with the CEO of  Johnson Inc. so he told me that he "called in a favor". 

 I arrive just in time for my before meeting starts. "Kelly can you please retrieve all of my manuscripts and bring them to the conference room," I greet my assistant.

"Yes ma'am. Would you like some coffee or breakfast?" she responds, quickly standing up from her seat.

"No thank you, I will grab a coffee on the way to the conference room," I dismiss her. I watch as she disappears into my office before I make my way to the break room for my morning coffee.

"Good morning Miss Petrova" Kevin from the mail room greets me, filling his plate with a variety of doughnuts.

"Why, good morning to you to Kevin. Are you taking doughnuts for the whole crew, or is all of that just a snack for you?" I jokingly ask.

"Nope this is just for me. You know I have to feed all my demons that live in my fat rolls." He chuckles. I can't believe that he would even think about referring to himself as fat, because he is literally a twig that might snap at any moment.

"Well I hope the doughnuts are good, but, as you know, some of us have to work around here." I giggle.

"Oh! Speaking of work, I have more manuscripts for you down in the mail room. I'll bring them up to you after your meeting."

"Thank you! You know, you don't have to always bring them to me personally. I could always go and grab them myself after my meeting." I inform him. 

"No, no it's fine. The reason I bring them personally is because I like to flirt with Kelly. You, yourself, know this. It has been going on since the beginning," he grins cheekily.

"I know, I know. I'm just making sure nothing has changed and you haven't gotten tired of rejection" I say as I walk out of the door.

"I will not quit until I get her to say yes to me!" He yells after me.

I make it through the long and drawn out meeting, which has lasted most of my day. Because of this, I really don't have anytime to read any of the new comers. I decide before I clock out that I should sort through all the manuscripts and make note to call all the authors that we were not able to publish. That way they can start looking for someone else to publish them.
Making it home by 8:30 P.M. is a breath of fresh air. Normally on the days we have the meetings, I am super whipped and ready to go to bed by nine. Dinner is normally take out because I get home so late, so I really just want something that is quick and easy, so after I am I can take a shower and go to bed.

After dinner and my shower, I'm restless. My normal schedule of dinner, shower, and bed, seems to be ruined because I feel so restless. The memories still haunt me, sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night filled with paranoia thinking that there is someone in my house. The worst nights are when I imagine that Connor is standing at the end of my bed, getting ready to pounce at me. 
I grab my phone and plug up my head phones to blast my music until sleep takes me.

Being the calm protagonist he was, Kiyo decided to wait until he had the time to uncover his ability 
Although he played a lot of games, he only played them after his job.

He immediately got ready for his job and rode his bicycle to an internet cafe, the cafe was named "Internet Haven " since he was doing a part-time job his salary wasn't much only 5000 credit . The cafe had a very attractive outlook with a really fancy board with LED's, unlike other cafe this one usually  had a high amount of customers.

The parking lot was usually full but luckily the cafe had separate space for emplyees , as he was about to park his bike on a spot only 3 spaces from the end , a cark honked and immediately took the space Kiyo was about to park in ,"Watch where you're going IDIOT!" said the man in the car

That was his colleague ,Jeff . Bullying and belittling Kiyo every chance he got , the guy would never let Kiyo live peacefully.

Kiyo tolerated it, he knew hotheadedness would only get him fired since Jeff was the owner's kid.
Dejectedly he parked on the cornermost spot possible and then began walking behind Jeff to the cafe. 

On arriving at the cafe one could see many High tech computers lined up , one should know that the cafe had a total of 300 computers . On the top left  corner arcade games like Pac-Women , Street Brawler . On the top right corner ,one could see 2 air hockey tables , 3 table tennis tables and 2 snooker tables . At the right of the entry were a total of 4 cahiers ,  2 for the computers and other two for arcade games , on the left side was the redeem point where one could redeem their coins for stuff toys and other goodies As well a foodcourt with chains like pizza house , KFnot, and Burger Queen. Ofcourse Internet Haven was so large, it boasted an area of 1 acre which is about the size of an american football field.

As for our dear Kiyo his job was to keep the computers working making sure that none of them malfunctioned it was a tough job but Kiyo thought of it as experience since he wanted to be a software/hardware engineer.

Kiyo was an orphan from birth , he did not get the best study possible but he thought it was enough to make it to the top university, he thought incorrectly . He was so confident that he didnt even choose a backup college but even so what could he do with a degree from 2nd grade college, there are millions if not 10's of million of people with a degree from a 2nd grade college . Desperate for jobs they would work at a low wage . In this fierce competition Kiyo could not compete in he had lost all his hopes but now he had this mysterious ability !

As soon as he walked in the staff started shouting at him ,"Mouse not working at computer #34 on aisle 4 " said colleague with a heavy mustache but short height

"keyboard not working at computer #199 at aisle 20 "  said a woman with an average face and built

"disc reader not working at computer #69", said a perverted old man.

"Aye aye I am on it " said Kiyo

He immediately started working on these problems and fixed them quickly now only the disc problem remained, he removed the disc from the faulty reader carefully

*Ding*  
"100 fancy positions , Learn? Time Taken : 10 mins".said  a mechanical voice 
"Jee that perverteed man !, haiii? ",said Kiyo
Immediately his memory started recalling the awesome abilities that come with a system
he previously thought that what he had was an ability but now he was sure it is a system!
"Learn"
Kiyo blacked out sitting on his chair with head between his arms he looked like he was sleeping.Luckily no one saw him .

After 10 mins 
"That dirty old geezer gotta get him banned from here!"

Chapter 3. Getting published (1)

[Hello, is this Yuuki sensei, I am calling from the SK publishing house]

"Ha, ye-yeah, I am Re, no I am Yuuki sensei"

It's been some days since Rei had sent his novel to a publishing house and he finally received their call.

[So, it is Yuuki sensei, I am a editor from SK publishing house. I am just asking it to confirm but you are the author of the «Genius», right]

«Genius» was the name of the novel he had written. It was a pure literary work which he had written with his whole heart.

Just like his first novel, he had written a character around him. It was a story of a boy who was perceived as a genius but his ego and arrogance made him lose his career and it was story of the tribulations he faced.

But for Rei, it was more like a autobiography of him.
After completing it, he had sent his novel in a publishing house.

It's been few days since then and his hope was wavering since he didn't receive any email or phone calls but this morning he finally received the call he has been waiting for.

"Yes, I am the author of «Genius»"

[So, it's really you. I was just confirming since your voice sounded really young. Are you perhaps in yours 20s]

"I will be starting high school soon"

[Wha, what did…you say just now?]

"I will be a high school student soon"

[You are a high school student!!]

The voice coming from the phone literally screamed when he found out Rei being a high school student.

"Is there a problem with me being a high school student"

[No…no, there isn't a problem but...if you don't mind, can we meet]

"Yeah, sure"

[That's great, can you please come to SK publishing house]

"OK"

After taking two buses, Rei finally reached the SK publishing house.

SK publishing house was a famous publishing house and has a great reputation among aspiring authors. 

It mainly published literature works, that's why Rei had chosen to send his manuscript to this publishing house.

He entered the building and a beautiful receptionist with a smile on her face greeted him. It was a smile which will make man entranced but Rei had seen his fair shares of beauty and was composed in front of beauties.

"May I ask what work have you here?"

The receptionist asked with a smile and Rei answered with a straight face.

"I am here to meet Nagamo-san. Um, my name is... Yuuki"

Nagamo-san was the name of the editor who had called him.

"Ok, please wait a moment"

She made a call and told Rei to go to the 5th floor. He took the elevator and reached the 5th floor.

As he step out of the elevator, a voice greeted him.

"Are you Yuuki sensei?"

He looked towards the voice and saw a middle aged man with glasses coming his way. His hair was tidy and he was wearing a suit. He was looking like those successful gentleman.

"….Yeah, I am"

"You're really young and….handsome too. I didn't thought you would be like this"

"What do you imagine me to look like when you read my novel"

"Well, when I first read your novel, I thought of you as a old man with lots of life experience but when I found out that you are a high school student, I thought you to be a shut-in or a geek type"

"Really"

He nodded and Rei felt that the man was rather interesting bluntly saying it.

"Well, let's talk in my office"

Rei nodded and they both went into his office. The office was not too big nor it was small but it was cramped with a lot of manuscripts.

Nagamo-san smiled in embarrassment as he noticed Rei glancing in his office.

"Well, it is not always this cramp"

"Really"

"Yeah, there are a lot of manuscripts which came for our yearly writing competition. So, I just thought to read those which manged to get into the final selections"

"You really do love reading, right"

Nagamo-san smiled when Rei asked this question to him and he answered confidently.

"Yeah, I do"

After they sat down, Nagamo-san offered Rei a cup of tea and Rei started drinking it while talking to Nagamo-san.

After some casual conversations, they finally came to the main point.

"Let's talk about your novel"

"Yeah"

"Your novel was good, it was really good. Personally, as a reader, I will surely use my money to buy this book but let's talk about some problems which I find in this book"

"Problems?"

"Yeah, there are some parts which I will like you to change. Don't get me wrong, your novel was good especially coming from a 16 year old. I am just saying that there are some parts which may not…sit well with the readers"

Nagamo-san thought that Ren will be offended by his words, so he tried to put it as nicely as he can. A author have a lot of pride for his work and Rei was still a kid, So it is justifiable for him to not to listen to his editor.

He didn't wanted Rei to get mad and publish this book with some other publications. He really wanted to take this work under him, that's how much he had liked it.

Rei was also not offended by his words. If he was the same Rei of the past, he might have gotten offended but after going through hardships, he had matured considerably.

"Please tell me about the problems"

"Ah, you didn't got offended by my words"

"What is there to be offend to, your words are justified, I don't know if my novel was good or not but you have read it, you can tell me about the mistakes that I did and if I can correct them, won't it make my novel better"

Nagamo-san just stared at Rei slightly stunned of his answers.

He felt that he was talking to a experienced author not a high school kid.

"…....You are really mature for your age"

"You could think so"

Rei said with a smile and that was the start of his first conversation with his editor.
