After reviewing a petition , Supreme court of India allowed to adopt Tiger as a pet. After few days of this decision, goverment of India allowed very few people to adopt Tiger as a pet. 15 years old was one of them , who had very own Tiger . But, did this court decision was right to adopt a tiger as a pet ? Here , 15 old girl was going to live with a tiger. Did they become friend by time or obvious thing happened.

Self-made cotton paper was a very important and necessary item when hamster breeding. It could be bought from the Internet. The product was whole, raw, pulp paper, without any artificial dyes, and it could be cut into finger-wide strips. Hamsters would instinctively search for nesting materials after giving birth to their pups. If they couldn't find them, they would be anxious, even if the owner had already made a nest for it. It was useless, however, as it would only be reassured if it was a nest made by the hamster themselves.
The cotton paper was given to the children for free by Zhang Zian––a pack was only ten yuan––and he had the children cut them into paper strips.
When the children saw that the female hamster was actually eating the cotton paper strips, they were all very shocked.
"Is the female hamster hungry? Why is it eating cotton paper?" Little Celery asked, worried.
"Yes, should we give it some food to eat? What if it gets so hungry it eats the little hamsters?" another child added.
"You all think it is eating the cotton paper? No, it is just keeping the cotton paper in its cheek to make it easy to move it to build a nest. The reason why we needed to cut the cotton paper into thin strips was because if it was too wide, it couldn't fit it into its mouth…"
After the cotton paper passed through its mouth, it would become softer, and hence it could not be replaced by normal sawdust. Sawdust was too hard; it could not eat it and it was not suitable to build a nest with.
It kept several pieces of cotton paper strips into its cheek pouch, then ran back to its baby hamsters. It spit out the cotton paper and started to make the nest without any guidance. After that, it ran back into the corner to eat the cotton paper again.
"Isn't it better to directly put the cotton paper closer to the babies?" a child who asked. "That way it wouldn't have to run back and forth. It just finished giving birth so it must be very tough for it, right?"
Zhang Zian nodded. "It is indeed very tough for it, but during the making of the cotton paper and the transporting of it, it is impossible to prevent it from getting some human scent on it. When it puts it in its mouth, its own scent overpowers the human scent. It can't be put too close, otherwise that wouldn't happen."
The children saw that the hamster mother was very busy even though it had just given birth and had used all its strength. It was still painstakingly traveling back and forth, building a shelter for its children. They could not help but pay tribute to it.
Zhang Zian said, "When your mother gave birth to you, she experienced much more pain than the mother hamster. In order to take care of you, she also did more hard work than the mother hamster. She not only had to take care of your clothes, food, and living, but she also had to run between her house and her workplace every day to earn more money in exchange for a bigger and more comfortable house––in exchange for good food, for things for you to play with, in exchange for a happier life for you… So you all should be considerate of your mother, and not always make her angry. Try to help her share some housework, which will be the best reward for her."
Remembering their mothers' daily hard work and how they often made her angry because of their studies and their naughtiness, a few of the usually naughtier boys bowed their heads in shame. Several already sensitive girls were so moved they had to wipe away tears.
If one just stood on the platform and nagged, it would absolutely not have such an effect. One would not be able to let the children intuitively understand the hard work of motherhood. They had to witness it, personally feel it, in order to leave a deep impression on them. If one could do that, the cost of buying pets and the hard work of keeping pets would be meaningful.
No matter if it was pets kept at home or school rearing courses, the purpose was not simply to let children play, but to cultivate their love and sense of responsibility in the process of raising pets. If they could also experience the hard work of mothers in the breeding process, that would be great.
The children had made up their minds to try to start doing housework when they got home later that day––even if it was just helping their mother sweep the floor or wipe the table.
"Little Celery does very well in this aspect. You all need to learn more from her," Zhang Zian encouraged.
"I… I still have not done enough…" Little Celery lowered her head, embarrassed.
Wang Yaning was a bit awkward. Her studies were very good, and all her time outside of school was spent on homework and various interest classes. Her mother also did not let her do any housework.
While they were chatting quietly, the female hamster had already moved all the cotton paper into the corner, made a shallow pit in the sawdust, put the pups in it, and then covered it with the cotton paper to make a simple and warm nest. After all, the newborn hamsters were hairless and had poor heat preservation abilities.
"The baby hamsters won't suffocate?" someone asked worriedly. They saw that the cotton paper had already totally covered the baby hamsters.
"Don't worry. That's the good thing about cotton paper and sawdust: There are a lot of holes in the middle and they can breathe, so it's not a problem," Zhang Zian said. He retrieved the food bowl the female hamster normally used and opened a bag of small steamed buns made of goat's milk and eggs that he purchased online. He put a few into it, and then put them into cardboard boxes as supplementary food for female hamster.
Although he did his best to encourage the children to prepare their own pet rearing supplies, baking was too hard for children.
The female hamster was still busy making a nest. Even if he prepared food for it, it did not have time to eat. It was just hurriedly drinking water to replace the water that it had lost while giving birth.
"You have an electric kettle here, right? Bring an egg tomorrow and boil it in plain water. After boiling it, you can break off the egg white that is the size of the nail cap and feed that to it to make sure it has enough protein. Don't overfeed it. The rest can be fed to other hamsters," Zhang Zian ordered.
"I see people feeding hamsters with mealworms. Is it better to eat live food?" a boy asked.
The girls all scrunched up their faces and said, "No mealworms. That's disgusting!"
Zhang Zian was standing on the girls' side this time and agreed. It was better not to feed them mealworms. For house pets, live food was not necessarily good because live food could carry bacteria, and there was a small amount of toxin on the mealworms.
In a twinkling of an eye, there was a small bulge where the baby hamsters were, and almost no trace of the baby hamsters could be seen.
In the end, the female hamster had managed to finish all the work and was finally satisfied. It went under the cotton paper. If it was not for the slight movement of the cotton paper, there might even be people who would mistake the paper box as being empty.
"How does mother hamster take care of baby hamsters? I really want to see it," the children said sadly, but the paper cotton completely blocked their sight.
"If you really want to see it, there's a way. Is there any other mother hamster who's about to give birth? Find a normal glass fish tank, or an acrylic, transparent hamster cage, and spread the sawdust a little thinner. You can see from the bottom up. Maybe then you could see how the mother hamster takes care of her baby," Zhang Zian suggested.
The children suddenly realized that and they were full of expectations for the next delivery.

It was a bright and sunny day.


Rich's mother takes him for a walk in the city to buy groceries (which is boring).


While strolling around the city, Rich came across a pet store nearby, and started pulling his mother's sleeves, "Mom! Let's go there! I want to see the animals."


"Ok, ok. Let's go,"


The first thing they saw they went inside were hamsters running inside their wheels. 

And mice chewing on their food.


Rabbits shaking their nose. Cats staring at them with a confused look. Dogs sitting still with their tongues sticking out. Fishes waggle in the water, and birds create a soothing sound.


And countless crickets chilling inside a piece of wood...


But what caught his attention was a pair of big hamsters like creatures resting in their cages.


"Mom! Look! A guinea pig!" He said while running to it.


"Oh, you like this one kid?" The shopkeeper asked.


He's in his forties. Wearing a vintage outfit that had blue square lines, pattern shirt, and black trouser, "They're mainly rodents, but also biologically related to pigs."


"Wow! Can we keep it, Mom? Please... Pretty please..."


She hesitated for a moment before giving her answer, "No,"


 "What? Why?"


"I prefer the hamsters,"


Rich stomps the ground, and says, "But I want it!"


"Are you sure? I think hamsters is better since it's smaller, and easier to take care of,"


"No! I want a guinea pig!"


She sighed, and decided to give up, "Fine..."


His heart was pumped with excitement giving a cheerful smile.


"We'll take this one," She pointed at the one with white and brown fur.


The shopkeeper nods, and gently carries the little big creature in a cardboard box while Rich and his mother were picking a cage for it to stay.

"Okay. There you go," Rich mother placed the guinea pig in his purple colored cage near the house exit. Letting it roam around, and get used to its new home.


"So, what are you going to name him?" She asked Rich.


"Hmm... I'm gonna name him Hurly!"


"Hurly? From the movie?"


"Yeah!"


"Alright, it's your choice,"


Rich noticed something was missing, and gasped, "Mom! where is Hurly's food! He's going to starve soon!"


"Ok, ok. I'll feed him now,"

.....

.....


Ever since that day, Rich has been spending time with Hurly day and night. Literally everyday. 


Taking him for a walk around the room.


Feed him. Changes his water.


And watches movies together, "Look, Hurly. That's you on TV."


And finally. Reading storybooks for Hurly, "The big bad wolf blows the house made of straws flew away-"


"Wait a minute... Can you understand what what I'm saying?" He asked while staring at Hurly.


Hurly only walks around pretending he doesn't hear anything.


"Hmm... Nevermind. I'll read lots of stories for you until you understand what I'm saying,"

Few months later...


The sun hasn't fully raised yet. Only dark blue lights were visible indoors.


Rich was first to wakes up in this dark morning, and rushed his way to Hurly's cage, "Good morning, Hurly. Are you still asleep?"


Hurly only stays still in the corner not responding to Rich's greeting, "Hurly?"


He pokes Hurly a few times, and feels that his body was hard as stone while still not moving at all, "Mom!"


"Mom! Come quick! Hurly is not moving!"


"Wha- what!" She jolts awake, and gets up from her mattress. Running right next to him to observe Hurly's condition.


"Hurly? Are you ok boy?" She opens the cage. Putting in her right hand inside to give Hurly a little push.


Hurly then drops like a fallen statue.


She gasped in shock while Rich was terrified.


"He's dead..." She said.


"Ah! Hurly, no!"


"It can't be helped. He's gone now,"


"How did he die... And why!" He asked while sobbing.


"I think he was sick. His left eye was harder than the rest of his body," She answered after examining him for a few moments.


"I... I noticed that... And thought he was injured. I should've known he was sick!" He said making his heart more heavier, and painful than before.


"It's not your fault. Even if we know he's sick, the vet is too far away from our place to cure him,"


"Well, it's time to throw him away,"


Rich was surprised to hear this, "shouldn't we bury him?"


"We don't have a shovel. It's much easier anyway,"


Then she had an idea, "Or... why don't we place something next to him?"


She wraps Hurly's body with paper, and places him in a box, and puts a ladder next him, "Like this ladder. He loves to climb it right?"


"Oh, I know!" Rich runs to the living room, and rips apart a piece of paper from his book on the shelves then writes something on it.


Goodbye, Hurly. We'll always remember you. Rest in peace, My friend.


He placed it right next to him, and his mother closes the box, and carried it, "Let's take him away,"


"Wait!" He stopped her.


"Hmm? Why?"


"Let me carry him,"


"Alright," She hands over the box. Rich carefully grabs it into his arms like he was about to hug it.


"Let's go,"

.....


Rich and his mother were walking halfway to the large green box that was filled with garbage. Giving him a second thought, "Hurly..."


Why does he have to go there...


Tears started to force their way out, but his mother saw it, and said, "Don't cry. People are watching."


He musters all his strength to hold it back.


Rich tosses Hurly into the pile of garbage with a frown on his face, and walks away.


He wanted to turn around, and look at it once last time, but he chose not to, and hold his mother's hand, "Mom."


"Yes?"


"Is Hurly happy there in heaven?"


She was surprised to hear this question, but calmly answers it, "As long as you don't cry for him then he will."


"Alright! Then I won't!"


She smiles, and keeps on walking until they reach home.

.....


Few weeks later.


They've come across the pet store again, and his mother asked, "Want a new friend?"


Rich hesitated for a moment, and answered, "Yes?"


"Well, this time I'm choosing the hamsters," She said in a demanding tone.


"Ok..."


They stepped into the store, and the shopkeeper greeted them, "Oh, welcome back. How's the guinea pig doing?"


Rich breathes in as much air he could. Fighting off his sadness.


He saw Rich's reaction, and nods in understanding, "I see... Sorry for that."


Rich's mother cuts in, and says "It's fine. Do you still have any hamsters?"


"Yes, they never stop breeding. Pick as much as you want," He pointed at the hamsters.


"Oh, look at them, B. Aren't they cute?"


"Um... Yeah..."


Rich went closer, and saw the hamsters were looking at them while standing with two legs for a moment, and sniffing the air with it's little pink nose, "So cute!"


His mother was glad to see him cheerful, and had decided, "We'll take two pairs,"


"Four? Alright. Which one do you want?" The shopkeeper asked with a hint of glee in his tone.


"Got any discount?" She asked with a grind.


"No," He answers blankly.


.....

.....

.....


"Welcome to your new home everyone!"


"The home where Hurly used to live..."


His mother gave a slight cough, and asked, "Aren't you going to name them?"


"Oh, yeah!"


Rich looked at each of the hamsters, and thought for a whole minute, "Alright! The white and orange spot will be Bucky!"


"From the movie again?" She asked.


"Yes! And this white and gray will be called, Grey,"


"Are you sure? You know that's a female right?"


"I will still call her Grey," Rich crosses his arms.


"Ok, ok."


"I will call the white one, Snowy,"


"Better,"


Rich suddenly pauses for a moment, "What is this color?" He said while pointing at the last and biggest hamster.


She took a closer look.


It had white, black, brown, and a rare unique color to its fur, "I think it's brown-coffee."


He opens his mouth wide to say, "Oh..."


"Then I will call him, Diego!"


She raises her eyebrows, "The one from that cartoon show you watched? Why?"


"Because he's going to be strong and adventurous like Diego," He said with pride.


"Haha. Alright, from now on his name is, Diego,"


.....

.....

.....


Just like before, Rich treats them like how he treats Hurly.


Out of curiosity, he places them on a rope that his mother tied next to the bathroom to hang the laundry, and places a pillow under it to avoid injury.


They really walked over it.


"Wow, you guys are amazing!"

Today, Diego was moved to another cage because…


He's too big and hostile. Fighting anyone on his way.


"There you go. Now you can't bite anyone anymore," Rich's mother said. Dropping him into the new cage.


"Bad Diego," Rich said while tapping Diego's nose.


A few days after Diego was moved, the metal cage was bent wide by being opened too much, causing the two hamsters to escape at night. Walking at every corner of the house. Exploring, sniffing, biting, and carrying… Red onions to the cage? From the kitchen? How does that fit in that small gap?

…..


The next morning.


"B!"


Rich forces his eyes open slowly getting up, and walks toward his mother like a moving toy using batteries that almost drain out, "What's the matter mom…" He said while rubbing his eyes.


"Why are there onions inside their cage?"


"Onions? I don't know. Where?"


"Here…" She lifts the cage from the bedding.


Rich took a closer look, and saw a half dozen red onions, interrupted Snowy's sleep, and Diego from the other side looking around confused at how the cage was lifted, "Hmm?"


"Mom, where is Bucky and Grey?"


"I don't know. Maybe they are responsible for these onions. We should look for them,"


Rich searched around the living room like playing hide and seek while his mother went to the bathroom because she's afraid that they would get wet there.


…..

…..


"Did you find them, B?"


"No,"


"Thank god they're not in the bathroom. Let's look for them in the kitchen,"


Both steps into the kitchen, and Rich heard something was rattling from the left side. He went there, and saw Bucky peeking through the boxes and random stuff then went back to hide, "Mom! I saw Bucky!"


"Where?"


"He's hiding behind here," Rich said. Pointing at where he saw Bucky.


She moves some of the objects, and saw Bucky and Grey with more onions, and bite a hole through a box.


Both Rich and his mother feel relief when they find them again, and put them back into the cage, "I'm going to close the gap with rope or wires so that they won't sneak out again."


"Oh, ok,"


"But I'm still confused how they could carry the onions and why?"


"Maybe they like onions," He said while making an idiotic smile.


"I don't think they could..." She said while still wondering.


"Well, keep an eye on them, B. I'm going to cook breakfast,"


"Alright!"

…..

…..


Few weeks had passed. Everything went well, and cheerful. 


Until…


Rich was done playing with his toys in the living room, and decided to check on the hamsters.


Snowy was sleeping peacefully in the small house, and Diego was walking… Uncomfortably…


Bucky was eating.


Eating something Rich never expected Bucky would feast on…


Grey…


"Bucky! What are you doing!"


Half of Grey's head was completely devoured by his own friend.


Rich eyes were widened.


Looking at Bucky with disbelief, "Mom!"


He ran toward his mother. Trying to focus on sewing some clothes with holes, and told her, "Mom! Bucky is eating Grey!"


She frowned, and said, "Don't be ridiculous. They won't eat each other."


"No! He's really eating her right now!"


"It's not good to talk to them like that, you know. I'm really busy right now."


"I'm not lying! See it for yourself!" Rich pulls her hand, and drags her away from the couch.


"Look!"


She examined the cage, and saw what he said was true.


"Ah!" She lifts the cage from its bedding, and pushes Bucky away.


"Oh no…  Grey…" She brings a piece of cloth, and grabs Grey with it.


"Looks like we had to throw her away..."


Rich made a disgusted face, and said, "Along with the thrash again?"


"I have no choice. I'm not willing to bury her,"


Rich's jaws were crushing together, and looking away from her, "You throw her away. I'm not going."


"Alright, I'm taking her away," She drops Grey into a garbage bag.


He witnesses it with disdain. Watching her stepping out of the door to dispose of his lost companion.


Sitting down, and yelled, "Why! Why did you eat Grey!"


Bucky was surprised, but ignored him after a moment.


"Wasn't she your partner? Why did you do it?"


No response…


"Argh!" He storms off, and locks himself in the room feeling despair. Staring at the ceiling unable to move on for losing Grey.


Rich started to visit them less often ever since.


Bucky was feeling weak after a few days.


It was then a silent night. Rich couldn't sleep. So, he decided to visit the hamsters, and saw… Bucky was lying motionless in the middle of the cage, "Bucky?"


He gave a few strong shakes, and realised, "You… Died…?"


Rich sniffs a little, and feels a pressure coming from his throat and eyes, but he gains back his composure, and says, "Hmph, suits you well. That's what you get for killing Grey."


He runs back into his room, laying flat on the bed trying to forget about Bucky until he falls asleep.

…..


"I'm home,"


After hearing that voice, Rich quickly raises up, and gleefully hops out of his bed to greet her, "Mom! Guess what, Bucky…" 


He suddenly felt reluctant to say it, "Bucky died."


"Oh," She bows down, and sees Bucky was still lying in the middle.


"Well, I feel bad for him, but he deserves it," She brings a few pieces of tissue, and grabs Bucky with it, dumping him in the trash bag, and dispatching him the next morning.


Leaving Snowy by herself.


Just to die on her own laying in the pure white house.


"No! Not Snowy! Wake up! Don't die!" Rich couldn't hold his tears anymore, letting it all out like a flood caused by a devastating storm crashed through a solid wall.


"Out of all of the other places, she chose to die here… That's what I love about Snowy, but it's time for her to go…" She was about to get up until Rich grabbed her arms with both hands.


"Can we bury her… Please…" He pleaded.


She gave a heavy sigh, and smiled, "Alright, but only this once."


Rich then smiles like the sun appearing during a rain.


They went to the backyard, and it was only next to a huge hill. His mother bought a cleaver to replace a shovel and a cloth with Snowy inside it, "This seems to be a good place. Should we do it here?"


He nods, and she started stabbing the dirt off the ground as deep as she could, "Alright, this seems deep enough. Now, let's put Snowy inside."


She gently places Snowy in the hole, and covers it up with dirt, "Rest in peace, Snowy."


"Goodbye, Snowy…" Rich sniffs, and let go of his tears. His mother pats his head a bit before giving a hug.


"It's all fine now. I'm sure she's happy after resting her body in a safe place,"


"Yeah…! As long as she's happy,"

Diego has been moved to the old cage since it's bigger than the one he lives in now.


Rich stares at him, and says "Ok, You better behave yourself since you're the only one left."


"Well, even though you're bad I will still be your friend. Welcome back, Diego."


He cherishes Diego a lot.


Trying his best not to harm, and lost another friend.

It was almost the end of the weekend, Rich hadn't looked at Diego for two days, and decided to walk pass by to check on him.


"Diego!"


He fell on his knees, and stared at his last friend lying flat on the ground with his head facing sideways with his eyes closed.


His mother rushed in, and asked, "What happened! What's wrong with Diego?"


"He… Died…" He was lost in words. He felt like a boy without a soul.


"Oh… Not again…"


"Are you ok, B?" Giving him a concerned look. 


"No!"


"I'm not ok!"


"Just take him away already!" Rage and despair could be heard from his voice.


His mother could only obey, and leave the house with Diego in her hands.


Rich was staring at the empty cage. Blaming himself deep inside his heart.


He's all alone again…


No friends…


Probably never will…

A great day for a walk in town.


The worst part is…


Everytime they walked past the pet store. Rich will suddenly turn upset remembering the heartbreaking past.


"Want to go, and ask?" She said.


"Ask what?" He replies, giving a puzzled look.


"Like why all of them died,"


He gave a serious nod, and both stepped in the store for the last time.


"Oh, it's you two. Haven't seen you for some time," The shopkeeper said.


Rich's mother steps in and said, "Yeah, today we just wanted to ask you something,"


"Hmm? Sure. Go on?"


She then explains what happened to the hamsters for the past two months. The shopkeeper nods, and gave his answers, "I see the problem here,"


"I wanted to say the onions caused it, but I don't think that's the reason,"


"There's three things that's happening to them: One is depression. Two are illnesses. Three is the cage is cage was too small,"


"Having three or four hamsters in that cage is not big enough, and will cause depression then starting to kill each other,"


"Or, the other hamster was attacked by parasite, and caused one of them to die, and the other must take responsibility to eat or dispose it before the dead body pollutes their home,"


Rich realised what he was talking about "Bucky…"


"My guesses are the rest probably died because the parasite manage to attack all of them or their life span was shortened by over stressed,"


"I see… What do you think, B?" She turned around just to see him crying again.


"Oh! Sorry! Did I make him cry?" The asked.


"Mom… Bucky was a good guy all along?"


"They weren't happy this whole time!"


His mother ran in front of him and rested her hands on his shoulders, "No, it's not true. They were happy."


"No they're not!"


"We couldn't afford to take care of them!"


Rich calms down, and closes his eyes, pushing out his tears, trying to avoid her eyes, and says, "It's fine, Mom…"


"I rather be alone without friends if that could make them happy…"


"I don't want a pet anymore…"


"Let's go home…"

"I want to reach my hand to the skies and feel free,"

"I wish to climb the mountains to experience the challenge and danger,"

" To share my glory along with my friends,"

"Sometimes I wanted to be alone, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings without problems,"

"Why is it so complicated to achieve?"

This is the story of boy who wanted to be free and participate in extreme activities, but life have other plans for him and decided to change his fate and gave him isolation instead of freedom. Will he get the life he always wanted?

This one isn't a fanfic, but it's as good as a real story, so I'll post it.

Chapter 1
Arnold was a strange child. Not the normal strange, he was too odd even for that. As a baby, he never cried and he never fussed. He didn't indicate at all that he wanted to be fed, or showed that he ever wanted anything. His parents had been worried about his lack of reaction when he turned three and brought him to a specialist, who examined him with every kind of test they had. Luckily, most of those tests were experimental and the parents weren't charged for their use.
Unfortunately, nothing was found. His brain worked fine and his central nervous system lit up when he was touched or prodded. His eyes and physical reactions were all within the normal range for a child of his age. The only conclusion that the specialist could come to, that the only thing that seemed to be wrong with him, was his lack of being stimulated mentally. Nothing seemed to excite him. Shiny toys and loud noises did absolutely nothing for the boy. Different tasting foods made no impact on him and they could feed him anything at all and he would eat it all the same way. Monotonously.
When Arnold was five, his father found him with an odd furry thing in his grasp. Not knowing what it was, he tried to take it and see what it was. Arnold squinted his eyes at him and reluctantly let it go. His father looked at the thing and it was a squirrel. A dead squirrel. Scared, the father quickly disposed of the carcass and took Arnold inside the house. He would be starting school in a few weeks and his father didn't want Arnold to make any kind of fuss.
"Don't tell your mother you found that dead squirrel." His father warned him. "I don't want her upset."
Arnold looked at him with a blank stare, as was his normal look, and walked away without a word. His blonde hair was trimmed short at the whim of his mother and it gave the boy an air of maturity.
School started and Arnold was admitted to the local primary school. Both of his parents were worried about his interactions with the other children, so they stayed around and watched as Arnold entered the classroom for the first time.
None of the other children paid him any attention and he sat at the very back of the classroom. The other children were rambunctious and lively as they jumped around and played with each other, while Arnold sat in his seat and kept to himself. Dejected, his parents left and hoped that the constant company of other kids would do their non-reactive son a world of good.
The teacher had been advised about Arnold's peculiarities and she was determined to break that little boy out of his shell. She didn't realize that it wasn't a shell, it was just who he was. She still did her best to include him at the front of any activities that she had the students participate in. She worked hard and spent extra time with him to try and get some kind of reaction out of him, and all of her efforts were in vain... until that fateful day the class project was introduced.
Keeping a pet.
For the first time in six months, she saw Arnold's eyes widen slightly and almost sparkle. Her heart was overjoyed that he was finally interested in something, so she dove into the subject with abandon and explained everything she knew about keeping a pet alive and happy. Arnold listened attentively, or so she assumed, because his eyes never left the little hamster in the large cage.
A week later, she came into the classroom early to prep like she always did, and she noticed that the hamster's cage was open and the little thing was gone. She frantically searched all of the classroom's nooks and crannies and all the hiding spots a hamster could get into, and she didn't find it. Saddened at the loss of the class pet, she closed the cage and decided to hide it for the day. When her students came in, only two of them noticed the missing cage and asked her about it.
"Nibbles is just taking a short vacation." The teacher said, surprised that Arnold was not one of them. "He'll be back in a few days."
Arnold looked up from his desk and looked right at her, and let a little smile show.
The teacher caught her breath at the sight, because she had never seen his mouth move except to eat, and now she could see his smile. It was striking, and she made special note of it in her class log. She was thankful that hamsters were so cheap and would pick up a couple of them, just in case. She had heard that the little things always managed to get out of their cages somehow.
Every few weeks, she would find their pet hamster missing and would replace it, and no one was the wiser. She would laugh as she added 'escaped hamsters' to her classroom expense report and claim the loss. She was a little worried that the things might get together and create a bit of a problem; but, they never did. Once they escaped from the cage, they were never seen again. The janitor told her that he couldn't find any droppings, so they hadn't stuck around.
The school year ended and as each student came to her to accept their certificate of completion, graduating them into the next grade, they each gave her a hug. She always accepted them as her due for watching over them all year. The last child to approach her was Arnold. She opened her arms to get his hug and he stepped close. She hugged him, a little tighter than she had the other children, because he was the one that had made the most progress in her class that year.
Arnold put his mouth by her ear and whispered. "Thank you."
The teacher caught her breath and tensed up, because he hadn't spoken a single word the whole year. "You are the best student I ever had." She whispered back and let him out of the hug.
When he stepped back, once again she was stunned by him as he gave her a full smile this time. She held in her tears and her emotions just long enough for the ceremony to end. She closed the classroom door and burst into tears, because none of the children had ever thanked her on their own before. They had been prodded by their parents to say it and they never meant it. This time... when the silent Arnold spoke the words... she knew he was genuinely thanking her.
Arnold's father drove home from the school, which officially started summer break. He briefly turned his head towards the backseat. "So, did you learn a lot this year?"
Arnold nodded slightly and his father saw it in the rear view mirror.
"Want to tell us about it?" Arnold's mother asked.
Arnold shook his head slightly. Everything he had learned he wanted to keep to himself.
A month into summer vacation, Arnold's father discovered a bit of an off smell came from under the small shed that he kept his lawnmower and various tools. He was sure that something had crawled under there and died, so he grabbed a shovel and dug at the ground beside the shed. It was looser than he thought it should have been, then he heard a squelch sound and the smell tripled in intensity. He gagged a little and held his breath as he dug the shovel back and down, then pulled it out...
...and found six dead hamsters in various states of disembowelment.
He threw up, because he couldn't be sure that the shovel did all of that damage, even with the sound the shovel had made and the increased smell. He walked back to the house and grabbed a black garbage bag, dumped the ghastly remains into it, then used the shovel to dig out anything that might still be under the shed. He was relieved that there were just entrails and no other dead animals. He added them to the bag and filled the space he just dug, then carried the garbage bag to the back of his property.
A hole was dug, the bag was tossed in, then it was buried. With the horrible task done, Arnold's father thought about confronting his son. He wasn't sure how to phrase it, though. Should he accuse him outright? The boy was only five years old and would be six in a few days. No, that was too harsh. Maybe he could bring it up in conversation somehow. He chuckled and shook his head. There was no real way to do it.
I'll just have to keep an eye on him and see what else he does. Arnold's father thought, put the shovel back in the shed, and went into the house. He didn't notice the bright eyed boy that had been hiding right there in the bushes the entire time.

Saturday, 1 April 1942 

Dear diary, 

Today we continued moving, and defeated a monster with a man's body, legs of a lamb, and it had wings of a dragon. Even Wisteria and Akane flinched when they saw the monster. Yeah, the monster looks horrible. Even my pet werewolf agreed and ran towards the monster. He bit the leg of the flying monster and dragged the monster to me. I know that he is very strong and that makes him capable of lifting over a mansion. The monster stood no chance against my werewolf.I am glad that my werewolf picked me as its master. 

After he brought the monster to me, I petted him and the monster 'accidentally' got struck by a black lightning. Pfft, the face of the dead monster is HILARIOUS! The monster's face looked like a dead fish. Anyway, the monster dropped some quite interesting things. The monster dropped a lantern, a big bottle of oil, some beautiful pearls and ten bottles of healing potions. We gave the lantern and oil to Lucas, the pearls to Vasilisa and the healing potions to Kane. We gave the potions to Kane because he has magical bag that can hold as many things as possible in there. We continued killing monsters until we came across a strange monster. 

There is a monster that looks exactly like Vasilisa and when we blinked it looked like me. I think it is a shape shifter, because of how it changed it's form. Kane immediately slashed the monster into two pieces and it disintegrated. It dropped a magical ball that can hide your presence and even form. We gave it to Kane, since he was the one who killed the monster and also because he is an assassin. He will use it wisely, I know it. 

I am a little sad, because he slashed the monster when it changed form into me. Does this mean that he hates me and doesn't like me, or does this mean that he knows me well? 

I hate to admit it, but I am in l.o.v.e right now! 

I asked him if he hates me, but he just hugged me and said no then walked away. Is that his own way to tell people that he doesn't hate them, or is he just trying to make me feel better? 

Well, anyways, it began to get dark, so we set up our sleeping bags and relaxed for the rest of the day, because it is always time to relax when it gets dark. But then, we heard a squeak and me and my pets went to check the corners of the room and found a little hamster with a cut on its back. The hamster is too cute for me to abandon it, so I took it and showed it to the others and I ripped off a small part of my clothing and wrapped it around the hamster's body. 

After I finished, the hamster let out a cute squeak and smiled. At that moment, I almost cried from such cuteness. I never knew that others' pets are this cute. I have always had a dragon as my pet, so I never knew about hamsters. Then, Vasilisa explained to me about hamsters. 

I was quite interested in animals, you see, the only animals I've ever seen are dragons, butterflies, bees and birds. My castle was built to keep the bloodline of the Queen family separated from the outside world. When I first knew this, I was really disturbed and confused for I don't know why my ancestors wanted to keep their kids caged in a castle and only the workers can go in and out of the castle gates. 

But luckily, the flowers in the garden of my castle keeps me happy and energised, because the flowers change colours everyday and the queen of the bees is really nice and lets me take some honey from her nest. However, there is one bee who hates me and that is one of the workers. 

Anyways, I put the hamster to sleep in Kane's bag and we set it in the corner of the room. I am very happy today because I get to know more animals. Well, while sleeping, Kane's sleeping bag rolled over to me and that made us look like we are sleeping together. I am writing with Kane next to me right now. I just hope he doesn't wake up.

 Kipo and Sarah were heading to the snake village and finish their mission to help the hamsters village.
Kipo : so I have asked you this question before.....but I want to see if the answer have changed....what's the plan ?
Sarah : I didn't change the plan yet.....first...we need to do some scouting....but this time I will do it alone....
Kipo : yeah yeah....I know.
After a while of walking they found the snake village, every snake was asleep, because it was daytime, but that does not mean that they can't wake up.
Sarah has already climbed the same tree Kipo fell off of. 
Kipo : I don't like this tree.
Sarah : I don't think the tree was the problem fatty...
Kipo : I'm not fat.....right ?
Kipo then checked her belly but it was flat.
Kipo in her mind : meh....I'm not fat.
Sarah started looking for any snake that might be awake, but she saw no one, she climbed down the tree and started to look with Kipo in the houses of the village through the windows, they saw many snakes, different sizes and heights, when Sarah saw them she realized that they can't win a fight against these creatures.
Sarah whispered : we have to leave....before we wake one of them up.....if one is up...all are up....let's go.
After they left the village and got far away from it, Kipo was confused of what's the matter.
Kipo : so what's next.....how will we take them out ?
Sarah : we won't.
Kipo : what ?....why ?
Sarah : you don't know much about biology.....do you ?
Kipo : I'm an astronomy scientist....of course I don't know anything about biology.
Sarah : snakes contain venom....this venom can do many different things to it's victim....some hurt...some immobilize....some make you bleed.....and some kills....one drop of a giant snake's venom is enough to kill you at least in like 2 minutes.....there is no way any of us will survive a fight with them.
Kipo : but how do we help the hamsters ?.....we have to.
Sarah : we need to find another way that doesn't involve violence.....unfortunately.
Kipo : we could get Zet.....if violence is still an option.
Sarah : if we do this fight even with Zet.....he might be the only survivor in it.....and that's a maybe.
Kipo : do we head to back to the hamster village now ?
Sarah : I think I have a plan....but we need Zet for it to work.....let's go to his tree house.
After a long walk, the night is almost sitting and it started raining, they have finally reached Zet's house, when they arrived Sarah climbed up to the door and broke it open, she knows that he's not in it.
Kipo : that was very unnecessary of you.
Sarah : sure....we can wait outside if you want.
Kipo : fine....
Sarah : we'll wait for him....he should be back soon.
The girls waited in the tree house for almost 10 minutes, then they heard Zet coming back.
When Zet came in he was surprised to see his door open, he summoned lightning in his hands before going to see who broke his door, he then climbed up and aimed immediately at the first thing he spotted.
Kipo : don't shoot !!
Sarah : oh hey Zet.....thought you'd never come back.
when Zet saw who broke in his house he turned off his lightning hands.
Zet : oh....it's you two....you couldn't more rude than this you know....oh...and hey Kipo.
Sarah : glad to see you too.....you know I broke into my house too.
Kipo : hi Zet.
Zet : what do you want ?
Sarah : long story....we need your help...and no...we're not going to kill or hurt anyone....this time.
Zet : fill me in.
Sarah : so recently we visited a village.....it was the hamsters village....they're dying slowly almost every night.....they're getting hunted by the snakes....they will eventually all die unless they get help.
Zet : and YOU want to help them?....I'm truly shocked...
Sarah : not me precisely....but yes...I do.
Zet : so what's the plan ?
Kipo : well....we tried to fight the snakes at first.....but luckily we realized we can't kill one of them without dying first.
Zet : you just found out?.....the snake that was chasing me was a blind snake.....but also a dumb one....it couldn't speak like the rest....but because it can't see it could hear and smell better than the rest of it's kind.....that one was average height and size to them....no one can miss with these guys and survive....I was lucky to find water on my way.
Kipo : wow....the mutation event did a real number on them.
Sarah : we need to go back to the hamsters village and see how they're holding up.
Zet : let's go then.
A while has passed when they were walking, and suddenly Zet asked Kipo in private.
Zet : hey does she know about what I told you ?
Kipo : no....I did not tell her anything.....yet.
By the time Zet and Kipo finished their private conversation, they have already arrived to their destination, the hamsters village.
Sarah : we're here.
Kipo was glad to see the population of this village didn't decrease as much as she thought.
Kipo : hi everyone !
The hamsters looked at her for a short while without saying any word.
Kipo : right...depression.
Zet : anybody cares to explain what's up with them ?
Kipo : they're usually depressed because of the snake attacks.
Sarah : and we're about to change this.
Sarah then headed to a high place, high enough to be able to gather all the hamsters in one place.
Sarah : alright everyone.....who's of you sick of the snakes attacks almost every night ? 
Many hamsters lift their hands up, while many others just left, they did not want to change anything and accept their fate by ending up eaten by a snake.
Sarah : we can change all of this.
The village chief : we won't fight them.
Sarah : why the hell does everyone find violence the first solution to everything....
Zet : what do you mean ?.....you did that too !
Sarah : shut up.....anyway....we have a plan to make you all safe from the snakes once and for all.
Some of the hamsters that left came back, they wanted to hear this plan before judging.
Sarah : but we need your help with this....if this plan works...none of you will ever be eaten by a snake again.
The villager chief : we're listening.
Sarah : we can change this whole village's location to somewhere else where they won't find you....and we will make decoys in these houses....so they won't suspect anything.....when they find out that you all left it will be too late for them...you would already be gone.
The village chief : but what about when they come at night ?
Sarah : this is why we have this guy.....everyone....meet Zet....he can control lightning and stuff...
Zet : hi everyone.....
Sarah then whispered to Zet.
Sarah : show them....
Zet : oh yeah.....this will hurt.
He then showed off his powers to the hamsters, they were impressed, more of those who left started to come back, this plan was destined to succeed.
Kipo : NOW they're interested.
Sarah : he will be able to keep them away at night.....we will work hard for it....but it will be worth it....unless you all want to be randomly picked as snakes dinner.
The village chief : do you have more details? 
Sarah : yes....but for now...that's all you need to know to judge.....so...do you agree to save yourselves ?
The hamsters finally let out a small smile on their faces, the village chief nodded in agreement, Sarah nodded back, she was excited for her plan to work.
Sarah : alright then.....let's get to work !
Zet : wait...who came up with this idea ?
Kipo : I didn't even know about it.....all Sarah.
Zet : not bad.....not bad...so what we should do first ?
Sarah : ok....Kipo....go get wood from the forest....get a group with you...gather as much sticks as you can find.
Kipo : got it !
Sarah : and Zet....I need you to keep an eye on the snakes at all time....keep them away from here as much you can....if you're part fails....the whole plan fails.
Zet : no pressure huh ? 
Sarah : relax....we both know you got this....
Zet : speak for yourself.....but sure.
The village chief : and what's our part ? 
Sarah : work on transferring all your stuff outside of the village....and I will go and find a new place for you to live in.
The chief nodded in agreement.
The village chief : thank you....for all of this.
Sarah nodded with a faint smile on her face.
Sarah then left the village to look for the villager's new home. 
Hours have passed, the night has started to set, Sarah found 3 different places, she can't make the choice herself, it's all up to the chief to decide, it's time for her to get back.
when Sarah came back she saw progress being made, they are desperate to live a happy normal life.
Kipo and Zet had already came back after hard long day of work.
Sarah : Zet....report.
Zet : they don't show any action all day....only night....
Sarah : good news.....you'll have time to rest in the day.
Zet : heading to do my job. 
Sarah : and what about you Kipo ? 
Kipo leaded Sarah into one of the houses where she put all the sticks she gathered, it was a massive pile of sticks .
Kipo : is this enough ? 
When Sarah saw the pile she was surprised.
Sarah : more than enough....good job.....you can go get some rest now.
Kipo : you're not coming ?
Sarah : I'll be late....I need to speak with the chief.
Kipo : ok....see you later.
Sarah then went to speak with chief, he was in a private meeting with a group of villagers, she heard them talking about her and her group, she decided to hide in a place where they won't see her and started to listen. 
Villager : we have to do this....it will be way better than her plan.
Villager : but they're trying to help us.
Village chief : they're humans....we can't trust them....we have to do it....
Villager : it's simple....we capture them when they are defenseless....we deliver them to him and we will be rewarded with a wish....as he usually does....and he will get rid of all the snakes....he doesn't like them anyway.
Village chief : we will capture them tomorrow at dawn....be ready for them....we know where they live.
Sarah was surprised by this, it was all a trap, they were betraying them all this time, she had to do something fast, she ran away from the village without anyone seeing her and headed straight to their tent, when she arrived their she found Kipo sleeping. 
Sarah : Kipo wake up!
Kipo : woah....what's going on ? 
Sarah : pack the tent....we need to leave now.
Kipo : what ?....why ?....what happened ?
Sarah : I will explain later....but now we need to find Zet.....pack everything and wait here....I'll go call Zet....be right back.
Sarah then ran and searched for a 2 rocks and a stick, she then climbed a big tree as fast as she could and started to set the stick on fire, she then howled as loudly. 
Zet heard it, he looked up at the sky.
Sarah then set the stick on fire and threw it up in the sky.
Zet saw it and ran back to her as fast he could.
Zet has arrived.
Zet : what's the emergency ?
Sarah : no time to explain now....we need to get to Kipo.
Zet and Sarah then ran back to Kipo, she already finished packing the tent.
Sarah : Kipo....when you went to get the sticks....did you pass by Zet's house ? 
Kipo : yes....multiple times....there were many broken trees in that area.....is there anything wrong ?
Zet : I live next to the lumber cats....
Sarah : oh no....the tree house is compromised....we need to get all the stuff you need in that house and leave...now.
Zet : are you going to say what's happening ? 
Sarah : they're frauds....they were trying to capture us all this time....apparently they know that were humans and they're going to deliver us to him.
Zet : him ?
Sarah : I don't know either....they kept saying him....they are going to attack us at dawn....we need to hurry and get your important stuff and ditch that place....now !
Zet : let's go.
They ran to Zet's tree house, there was no one there, they had to hurry, when they arrived they were about to get in, but Zet stopped them outside.
Zet : stop here....I won't take long.
Sarah nodded.
Kipo : ok.
after 15 minutes Zet came out of the tree house with a backpack.
Zet : alright....I'm ready...let's get away from this place.
After Zet finished packing they all headed in the opposite direction of the hamsters village.
They have been walking all night, they were all tired, they needed to sleep, when they walked far enough from the hamsters village, they found a spot to set the camp in, it was in the forest, where the trees will give them cover to protect them from their enemies.
Everyone was tired, but Zet was angry, he waited for the girls to sleep then he flew back to hamsters village, when he arrived he sneaked into the house where Kipo stashed all the sticks, he grabbed a big amount and sat them all on fire and threw them at the villager's houses burning many houses they were sleeping in, he then flew back to the camp, he found Sarah waiting for him.
She was worried about him.
Sarah : where were you ? 
Zet : they took my home away.....so I took theirs.
Sarah : so much for laying low....
Zet did not respond, he was very mad, he can kill the whole village in a matter of minutes, but his conscious will always prevent him from killing.

The story revolves around 
8 kids who have different powers in a world where humanity is in a war against mutated animals.
Each one of them has stories to be told, and adventures to be talked about....hope you enjoy this.
