Summary and Analysis of Literary Masterpieces.

The mid-autumn festivities weren't over yet.
It was the last day of the public holidays[1] for the Mid-Autumn Festival. At noon, Zhang Ye celebrated the festival at his maternal grandma's place. Right after they finished lunch, his three sisters started pestering him with questions.
His second sister stamped her feet. "Brother, are you going to tell us or not!"
His eldest younger sister blinked. "Just who is our sister-in-law?"
His third sister said, "Brother, we're gonna get angry if you don't tell us!"
Zhang Ye laughed heartily. "Another time, I'll tell you guys another time."
"Then write a song for us to make up for hurting our feelings," his second sister said.
Zhang Ye said annoyed, "Write what song?"
His third sister said, "A song to praise your little sisters."
His eldest young sister nodded. "Heehee, good idea."
So Zhang Ye ad-libbed, "Sister, you ride on the prow / Brother will pull you along… ai, this song doesn't sound right." He changed songs and sang again, "Sister, bravely march forward / Keep marching and don't look back… ai, this isn't right either." After he sung those two songs[2], he suddenly realized that these two songs had practically nothing to do with blood-related sisters.
Then, Zhang Ye's cell phone rang.
It was from the studio.
Little Wang said: "Boss, the project proposal has been completed!"
Zhang Ye said: "Aren't you all taking a break over the holidays?"
"You've only given us a few months to reach your target, so who would have the time to go on a break? Every one of us has been putting in overtime to get the proposal out. We're just waiting for you to look at it."
Zhang Ye laughed and said: "Alright, you've all put in a lot of good work. I'll be right over."
"OK, we'll be waiting for you." Little Wang hung up.
Zhang Ye turned around and said, "OK, I've got to go."
In the living room, his maternal grandma asked, "Where to? You're not staying for dinner?"
"I can't, Grandma. I still have some work waiting for me at the studio and will probably be very busy over the next few days. You and Grandpa have to pay attention to your health, alright? If there's anything, just give me a call. I'll be off now." Zhang Ye bade farewell to his grandparents and patted his little sisters on the head before hurrying downstairs.

At Zhang Ye's Studio.
It was pretty packed as everyone had squeezed into the conference room.
Zhang Zuo took out a copy of the proposal. "Director Zhang, please have a look."
"Alright." Zhang Ye took it from him and browsed through it. "Who wrote this?"
Ha Qiqi smiled and said, "Basically of us discussed it before coming up with it together."
The proposal had a very ambitious title. As Zhang Ye had set his sights on the very top seven spots of the entertainment industry's pyramid, the proposal was titled: Reach the Summit. It was even emblazoned in English at the bottom. They kept it locked up in the safe before Zhang Ye's arrival, and everything done until now made it feel like they were handling the American government's Apollo project with all the secrecy surrounding it.
Zhang Ye skimmed through it and felt quite satisfied with the proposal. In the past, he had always been battling alone and would often do as he liked, or flip-flop on his decisions as he wished. He relied only on instinct for everything he did, including his work. But it was different now. With a team, his work productivity increased since there were more people helping him handle all kinds of issues and projects.
"Very good." Zhang Ye nodded.
Zhang Zuo said, "Then shall I briefly outline the proposal guidelines?"
Interested, Zhang Ye said, "Sure."
Zhang Zuo bluntly said, "Actually, we aren't very confident about completing our 'Reach the Summit' plan, because every step we highlighted is rather difficult to achieve. Rather than calling it a proposal, it might be better to say that these are milestones. But since we're trying to take one of the seven spots, the proposal was written in a more idealistic manner. What's more, all of the steps highlighted have to be achieved to realize the plan. If anything is missed, there won't be a chance of bringing the plan to fruition. This proposal was written with us bravely aiming for the unthinkable."
Zhang Ye gave a smile and said, "That's how it should be done. We shouldn't be afraid to fail, but we should be afraid of not daring to dream."
Zhang Zuo heaved a sigh of relief at Zhang Ye's acknowledgment. He was really afraid that Zhang Ye would reject the proposal as it was too "absurd" in nature. He said, "For the first step of the 'Reach the Summit' plan, we hope that you take home the most coveted domestic literary award that will be announced in the next few days, the Yanhong Literary Prize."
The Yanhong Literary Prize was named after a person.
It was one of the three most coveted awards in the literary world and the winners were chosen once every four years.
Zhang Zuo said, "As we all know, awards weigh heavily in the Celebrity Rankings Index. In the calculation of a celebrity's popularity score, awards contribute in large part. What's more, this is one of the most coveted awards in the literary world, so it means even more. The effects of receiving it would be very positive, so you must get it. Although another top prize called the Qilu Literature Prize will be awarded very soon, that award is more skewed towards longer works like full-length novels and similar works. You don't have a chance of winning that one since you don't have any full-length novels, as Ghost Blows Out the Light isn't considered traditional literature. But it's different for the Yanhong Literary Prize, which is targeted more towards poetry and prose. You're definitely one of the hot favorites to win this award that will be given out to five people in total. Logically speaking, you have the best hopes of winning, because in the field of poetry, be it the quality or the number of works produced in the last four years, no one should be able to compete with you."
Ha Qiqi took out an invitation letter. "This was the fax our studio received this morning, sent over by the people from the Yanhong Literary Prize committee. They've included you in the list of nominees, which number 30 candidates in total. We've also compiled the list for you. The final results will be based on the votes given by the judges."

He really hadn't won an award like that before.
Zhang Ye said while looking through the list, "Alright."
Wu Yi said, "But there are a lot of variables."
Zhang Zuo agreed, "What we just talked about was based on the best possible outcome of our predictions and analysis. The greatest variable in this is your relationship with the literary world. You've never gotten along with them, nor have you been a member of the Writers' Association or any literary organizations. All this time, you've always been doing your own thing outside of the system, so I'm afraid that'll inherently affect your scores. After our final analysis, we came to the conclusion that your best chance of winning is 50/50. It's all going to be down to luck."
Of those in the top seven spots, their greatest difference with Zhang Ye was that they had a lot of distinctions. With so many distinctions, it meant they accumulated a lot of popularity. All of them had so many awards to their names that you could just pick one of them and they would easily have multiple honors, such as being the kings or queens of the silver screen or the equivalent. All of the highest honors were basically a dime a dozen to them. The reason why those seven people were so popular was that they had all the highest honors and awards, which added to their popularity. If Zhang Ye wanted to take one of their spots, he couldn't lose out on this aspect. He had already won the most coveted awards in hosting, mathematics, variety and documentary shows, but he had almost no achievements in the literary field that he was most famous for. In a way, this was really quite unacceptable.
He could only try to fight for it. This most coveted award in the literary field was incredibly valuable. Be it popularity, fame, or qualifications, it would undoubtedly be a huge help to Zhang Ye's quest in trying to reach the summit!
Zhang Ye said, "This is good. You guys only need to think of the plan, not how it's realized. No matter what the chances are, that's my business. You just need to be responsible for planning and leave the execution to me."
"How impressive, Director Zhang!"

A hero's unfortunate death. The birth of a villain who shall take the whole world by surprise. Will he fulfil his father's dream or give it one hell of a nightmare.

Darren lay over his desk while lighting the last candle on the chandelier placed with thought and care over it, checking for the last time that everything was on the right spot, overlooking and checking elements from an imaginary list with a nod of satisfaction with his arms crossed.

He was a young man of peculiar aspect, some less polite would call him unfashionable, with his black hair completely messy and short. His facial features were slim and sharp, with an unshaved beard that was a few days old. He was wearing a black shirt with rectangular neck and long sleeves and plain straight grey pants, clothes that highlighted his excessively slim structure, a sad result of his malnutrition and a constant lack of care for his own health. His eyes were of a dark brown, round like little dark spots in his face.

'Snacks, check. Candles, check. Emergency lantern, check. Ink strategically positioned to avoid incidents, check. Notepad, check. Pen, check. And at last, the most important one of them all…'
Darren stopped his thoughts and looked at the book on his table, which held the central core of nearly everything that had been placed on his desk.

It was an old book, with pages darkened with dust over the years, bound in a strapping leather that made it open to the eye. The title of the book was simple, and to the point: 'Introductions to Magic,   and the Treatise about Magic'.

The title itself shone with silver letters, unaffected by the degradation of time itself. These written words seemed seamless, to the point that it would be presumed that the words would continue to live on, even when the book itself was destroyed by the hands of time. 

Darren wouldn't be surprised if said illusion was the effect of some sort of enchantment spell, placed by the author as a statement of his mastery over magic. After all, in the great scheme of things, the existence of magic was still a recent discovery and many of the possibilities and effects that the world of magic could cause were still a mystery.

Books and informs about amateur mages and their discoveries pop up all the time. Darren had studied a lot about the subject, and discovered that the great majority of those examples were nothing more than straight up plagiarism. Nothing more than other mages simply stealing from previously talented mages or just insignificant theories with no potential to transcend whatsoever. However, in this world, were knowledge was jealously hidden, finding the truly interesting discoveries was a difficult task.

Darren himself took pride in owning the biggest collection in his personal library. He had spent his life looking for books and studies, having a whole section of history, another of legends and myths, religious treaties, engineering, magic, enchantments and so on. All of them have been read by him and a very good bunch memorized word to word. 

When he was just at the young age of twenty-two, he wrote a book titled 'Introduction to Universal History', which was something of a prideful attachment to him. The book contained the general study and his conclusions of the major historical events to this date, with the objective of ease the task for any history fanatic such as himself.

The book on his desk, however, was a completely different matter. This book was a literary jewel which had an incredibly scarce amount of copies. Those who did look for the book would be forced to deal with those that had guarded it in numerous safe boxes, or have to deal with schemers who tried to sell the name of the book with pages from others of a similar subject.

Just to be able to get an authentic copy took a lifetime of work, dealing with numerous days of freezing cold and debilitating hunger just to be able to purchase it. But at last, after all that struggle, he had the book. He had a true copy of this masterpiece in his hands, which was written by Elias Moonlight, the first person to discover the element known as 'Mana', and who was a pioneer on the study of magic and it's applications.

All mages and researchers owe all their discoveries to this man and everything had started with this book more than 50 years ago. This one book was enough to push a revolution on the technology advancements and the improvement of the life quality in the whole kingdom, as well as major changes in the social structure and behavior of others in society.

As a history researcher, he was able to notice how one man and one book were capable of bringing upon such a sudden and abrupt change. He knew that in order to read this world-changing book, the setting had to be perfect, with no kind of interruptions popping out of nowhere. He had spent several hours previously to ensure that everything was in its rightful place, and to clear his schedule to be reassured that he would not be interrupted for the next three days.

The last part was not so difficult, Darren was a man with little friends. It would be more accurate to state that he had no friends at all, due to the fact that he had spent a majority of his lifespan searching for books. Once, when he had felt somewhat satisfied with his personal library, he attempted to try out social interactions.

There wouldn't be another time where he would go out and socialize again. In that one attempt to social life, he discovered three things: first, peoples didn't like those that were the 'know it all' type. Second, social interaction wasn't the same as described in books. Last but not least, he felt more comfortable reading than interacting with anything with a face.

After feeling satisfied, he finally decided to sit and read it. He found himself in a comfy position, relaxed into his seat, and opened the book, taking an awful amount of care to not break or harm the book in question.
And with that, he opened the book to reach the first chapter, and began reading to his utmost desire…

Chapter 1: Elemental History and the Discovery of a New Element

Before we begin, let's talk about history, keeping in mind the prime objective of a better understanding of what exactly is that I chose to call as Mana and the implications of such discovery.

As is told in the historical records, the world was at its beginning devoid of all form or substance, nothing more than a dark fog of emptiness inhabited solely by winged creatures of great power known as dragons. These winged creatures, named dragons, were the holders of the elements which would now form the earth and with that power, they give form and substance to the world, giving life to all the creatures in it, saving some of the noblest elements for a few.

All living creatures, including humans born in this world were under the seal of one element, giving them power and control over it. It is natural to think that every person can be measured and judged only by the element with which is born. Some are suitable for war and violence, such as iron, while others less fortunate are born under a more insignificant element, such as phosphorus and argon, which makes them weaker in comparison. 

And then there are those who were gifted by the elements granted by the dragons themselves, such as silver and gold, people who are born with a great and ominous power and an even greater life expectancy. These kinds of people that exist very few, limited only to the royal family. This is due to the events of little more than a hundred years ago, known as "The Tyranny of the Dragon Slayer"

According to the records, a man whose name is now unknown stumbled across a powerful and dangerous discovery. He discovered that by killing a dragon, a man could steal it's power over the elements, giving him immeasurable strength. 

Moved by his ambition and thirst for power, this man drove the ancient dragons to extinction and began a rule over mankind, which would last for hundreds of years. His rule was one of a tyrannical state, pursuing and eliminating anyone who could oppose him, at least until a single woman dared to face him and raised a revolution.

This woman was then known as Lucrecia, the Silver Maiden. This woman defeated the dragon slayer in battle and brought peace to our kingdom once more. Or at least, that is what history books tell.

With peace, came leisure, and with leisure, comes meditation.

I, as perhaps many of those who are reading this, was born without an element, an anomaly in this world that has never been explained until now. 

Our land was driven by war for many centuries, whether if it was the conflicts between noble families, confrontations with another kingdom, or the tyranny of a supreme overlord and its consequential revolution… Under the threat of death, our kind has little time to do anything except to survive, powerless and defenseless in the face of those blessed with the power and strength of their elemental seals.

This was the harsh and cruel reality of our kin over the millennia. But with the unification of the kingdom and the peace bestow upon us by our Silver Queen, we have been granted the time and tranquility necessary to think. And with this opportunity, I had made a discovery that will forever change the way our kind thinks, the history of the world, and the future of society…

Darren is a man of few friends, more accurately, no friends at all, who spent most of his time hiding in his house and collecting books from all corners of the earth.
Till one day, he received a letter from none other than the queen of the kingdom of Yorn. Who called him to inform him about the creation of a new institution of power in which he will be a part of, called "The Court of the Wise Ones" made-up almost exclusively of mages with great power being him the only exception.

Tayaw, unable to understand what was happening tried to scream, or fight back with whatever is pulling, to no avail. After a blink of an eye though, he found himself among a white void. He looked around, trying to find a way out, but no matter how much he ran, he didn't felt like he was getting anywhere. The white void still looks like the white void. "IS ANYBODY HERE?!" Tayaw screamed hoping someone will hear him. Suddenly, two huge words appeared in front of him, comprised of bright blue floating objects rapidly morphing into different letters. As if waiting to be touched, the list scintillated in a hypnotic rhythm, inviting Tayaw to come forward. As Tayaw came closer, he was able to finally read the words as the flickering of the letters stopped. He looked at the words "Arts Record" floating quietly in front of him for a minute. "Hello?" Tayaw said after waiting for something else to happen. The floating words, as if hearing him, started to light up in a pulsing manner again.
Tayaw then touched the words, and suddenly a white, basketball court-sized roulette table with a spinning roulette wheel appeared in front of him, only, no numbers and just a grid of countless blank white tiles adorned the table, with "Odd" and "Even" the only choices. Tayaw was confused about the situation. "I was brought here; make me experience something so mysterious, just to play a giant roulette?" Seeing that nothing else is happening, he shouted "EVEN!" as he picked up the white shot put sized ball on the table and threw it in the wheel. After the wheel stopped, one tile on the table lit up, floated up to the middle of the table and a few words appeared on it. "Literary records: Random piece x 8."
Tayaw was getting more and more interested by the proceedings as he read the tile. In the next moment, the tile flew to him at an incredible speed and smashed on to his head.  With the speed, he had no time to react at all, or even brace for the impact. He felt an impending sense of doom as he closed his eyes. Surprisingly, he felt no pain and just felt like his head was hit by a breeze of wind. In the next moment however, he felt the worst headache he ever had, pain he never imagined was possible, as if his brain is being compressed by a grid road roller. Along with the pain, is information constantly being pumped into his brain. He could only try to decipher the information to distract the pain. 'Grimm's fairy tales. Alice in Wonderland.  The Boy with the Lightning Scar. The Ballad of the Dragon and the Wolf. Moneyball : Statistics of Baseball, Saturday Night Lights : A Community's Dream, 42 : The Jackie Robinson Story, 221B Baker Street.'
As the last of the information entered his brain, the pain also disappeared as if it was not even there in the first place. After regaining his bearings, he opened his eyes and to his surprise, he was back in the bathroom. He slapped his face, and with the stinging pain, confirmed that he was where he really was. He pulled out his phone to check the time, and to his surprise, it was only 5:10 am. It was as if his time in the white void passed only in a blink of an eye. To confirm if the white void was real, he tried to remember the information that was pumped in his brain. To his excitement, he can access in more detail, as if written in his brain, the information he gathered. To further his excitement, the "Literary Records" in his brain are stuff he never heard of before. He considered himself as a well-read individual when it comes to novels and such, so he realized immediately that these things that the literary records gave him are of quality that he has never seen before in his world. Stories that are much more compelling and immersive than the fictional stories he read in his future life.  
If he remembered it right, the white tile from before said "Literary Records: Random Pieces x 8". Literary Records must mean a list of records among the many records of the "Arts Record" he first touched. X 8 meaning eight pieces of literary works. And finally, the key word for him, "Random" meaning these 8 are just random literary works out of who knows how many, and they're already the best written works he's ever seen in his life.
As he was to exit the bathroom, he noticed at the bottom of his field of vision are the floating letters "View Points : 0". After his coming back in time, the white void, the gigantic roulette, he isn't surprised anymore at the floating number. He's not sure what View Points are for now, but he has an idea what they can represent in the future.
He back to the kitchen and sat by the kitchen table across his father, watching for the incoming check mate from the white pieces. He and his brothers played chess as a hobby after their father taught them the game. They just are not obsessed with it as their father is, but they still enjoyed it. Tayaw was about to ask his father for a game, when his mother was finally done cooking the breakfast and put the dishes on the table, prompting his father to put away the chess board and pieces as well.
"Are you prepared for the exams today, Tayaw?" His mother asked as she sat down the table. "I'm confident. Why is there only enough for two?" Tayaw replied but as noticed the amount of breakfast on the table was much less than usual, he couldn't help but ask.
"Oh. Your father will bring you to Northwestern, so you two will eat breakfast first. I will have breakfast with your brothers when they're up." She explained.
"Thanks honey. By the way, I've been noticing that Payew has been spending too much time on his game console. I heard his voice a few minutes ago. Was he up early? Or he never went to sleep?" Liboo asked his wife, hinting at taking away the game console.
"Don't worry; don't you think he earned it? He was in the top of his class all year anyway. He also does as he is told, and does his chores without us reminding him. His recent all-nighters though, I will talk to him about that today. I'll tell him to leave his console with us by 9 pm starting today." Kilat assured her husband.
Tayaw, while eating his omelette, just silently listened with a subtle smile on his face. He missed this seeing this. In his past future, he was too busy with himself and his life that he ignored and taken for granted these moments. He also wondered what his parents lost ever since they had him and his brothers. His mother had him when she was only 23 years old and never got to experience the single life he enjoyed in his past future life. Tayaw never fully realized what he truly wanted until he was thirty, but his father on the other hand, already had three kids by the time he was thirty. The pressure his parents endured made him appreciate them more now.
After they were done with the breakfast, Tayaw gathered all the required documents for his exam while Liboo washed up. And when Tayaw was washing up, Liboo started the car and checked everything.
By 6:30, Tayaw and Liboo started their trip to Ouigab. It was a five hour drive, so Tayaw had plenty of time to plan his new future and how to use the current blessings he received. This time, he promised himself to live a more fulfilling and joyful life.

Arriving at the building I was greeted by a more than 80 monsters corpses and sure enough there cause of death was none other than gunshots and noticing a lot of bullet marks on the street.
'Clearly, this is the work of someone who has just learned how to use a gun. After all, there is no way that uncle Damarion can miss a bullet, especially on slow walking monsters so he must have been training the others.'
After all, when I was patrolling the city and saving those guys I was able to hear a lot of gunshots sound so some of them must have come from here. But as expected from uncle Damarion he certainly knows what to do since before in my first apocalypse he was the one who taught me and my three best friends how to use a gun but unfortunately, they weren't able to escape the city with me and got killed in the first six months. However, this time I will make sure that no one will die after all I have grown sick from seeing my friends dying.
And when I was in deep thought I noticed Jase who was standing over the wall holding a Rifle and waving at me.
'Nice, they are even taking watch over the walls.'
And after a while, the gate was opened and coming out from the gate was uncle Damarion and Braylen and it seems both of them had become level 3.
"What was all of this about? You should know that they can't break through and the gunshot sound will only attract other monsters." I said to them while collecting the monsters corpses and noticing that their swords were missing I thought.
'They even took their swords. They certainly know what to do, so I guess I should tell them to collect the corpses too, next time, after all, they don't know about potions yet.'

"That's not the problem kid, did you bring back enough food."
"Yeah, even though I wasn't able to visit all the stores around as planned. But a full supermarket supply is more than enough for now and I will try to secure more in the near future."

"How about the things I told you about before getting out. Are they ready?"

That's how humans will act, they will kill someone else so they can level-up or so they can get their resources.
"Huh, You are really something Ady. Don't worry, I was able to come to that conclusion and I think as long as we provide enough food and shelter, things will go smoothly." Said uncle Damarion.
"It's not that simple, I will tell you this but keep it a secret.
When you kill a human the XP you gain are much more than when you kill a monster and all the things in his Item Box will automatically be transported to your Item Box. But likely none of them are aware of this fact and I can't trust everyone to act the same after learning this. So I will leave the discipline matter to you until we leave this city and create another base."
After all, humans are creatures made of greed and only a few peoples can control this greed.
After listening to my words both of them were so shocked that their eyes almost popped out.

Seeing both of them has calmed down and started to converse with the people I brought, I left them alone and started to walk toward the opened gate but before I could even walk three steps away my name was called, so turning around I saw Iyana, her mother Doris who seems fine and her little sister Betsy.
"Thank you for saving me." Said Doris with a bow and following her Iyana and Betsy also bowed and said.
"Thanks for saving my mother, truly appreciate it."
"Thank you, big brother."
"Please don't worry about it, I did nothing really. And glad to see that you are fine, ma'am."
After saying her thanks, Doris took Betsy and went with the others inside the building leaving only Iyana and me.
"Thank you again, Ady. And there is something I want to tell you about. Actually, I have a unique skill." Said Iyana.
"A unique skill? what kind of unique skill?" I said while looking confused after all I can't tell her that I already know about that because I can't tell her about how I get reincarnated since whoever reincarnated me made me unable to share this information with anyone.

And that's not important now, the most important thing now is to level-up Iyana and make her able to use high level magic attacks as soon as possible since no one knows what kind of strong monsters outside especially that Amon the demon bastard. I will make sure to kill him next time we meet.

SO the writing quality is probably low for now but it will be improved with time and effort. I hope you can help me with pinpointing the grammar, spelling and logic errors to make this story better. I am using Grammarly but it's a basic version and it only shows the basic errors. 
I am a university student so I will try to upload as many chapters as I can but for now, I guess the release schedule for this work will be 4 chapters per week.
Also, my naming sense is horrible so every character in this novel will only have a first name.
