After a great war called the terror war, a war that long senses passed to the point where the enemy was forgotten, know the people of earth have expanded to the stars in hopes on new resources, a small business that help others that cant help them self called The Saints and a militia group The Black Ashes has them in there grip for protection a safety they give them a large sum of money and resources. 
Basir Williams is a young man in his mid 20's a part of the Saints as long as he can remember, Basir has been looking for a place in the world and can't find his purpose in life.

"Actually, the root of the problem has been resolved—it’s that demonic mirror," Lu Sheng said mildly. "Tea Sect has suffered heavy losses this time round. It’s best that you take time to recuperate. However, I do have a question—since you rely on the Winged Honor Guards, why didn't you seek help from them at the first instant?"

Hearing that, Dong Qi sighed heavily. 

"Esteemed representative, you may not know this. Although the Winged Honor Guards reside permanently in the area, we’re not able to borrow any of their power. At the very most, we can bribe them with silver when they’re on patrol, and they’ll allow us to follow behind them and peddle our goods. Other than that, the military rules dictate that we’re not allowed to request a helping hand from them." 

Lu Sheng nodded, "Is that so." 

"Esteemed representative resides in a large city and doesn't understand how tough we have it here," Dong Qi sighed again. "Although Tea Sect is a sect in name, this sort of sect is but a group of people who were unable to defend themselves in this day and age, and had no choice but to unite together. Otherwise, with no one else to rely on, one wouldn't be able to make it very far in this life. You don't even need to stand out; just the mountain bandits and robbers, and all sorts of otherworldly dangers, will present obstacles every step of the way.

In such tumultuous times, what choice do we have besides sticking together?" Dong Qi smiled bitterly and continued, "Those of a better family background can practice martial arts for self-defense, the rest who are less advantaged will have to be runners for others. Hunting, doing hard labor… all to learn a skill or two to fend for oneself. Young people nowadays, if they haven’t given up all hope and resigned themselves to a drunken, befuddled lifestyle, then they’re all trying to find a way out to lead a peaceful life. Even that in itself is already their greatest hope."

Lu Sheng had not expected Dong Qi to have that much insight and began to see her in a different light. 

"You’re pretty observant."

"Esteemed representative, you flatter me. It’s a pity that I didn’t put in the hard work to learn martial arts when I was younger, or else I would at least be able to lead a safer life today. If I could be like esteemed representative and not fear the supernatural, and be brave and courageous, perhaps… perhaps my Dad wouldn’t have died…" speaking of this, Dong Qi’s eyes turned red.

Indeed, she was a capable woman of her own mind, or she wouldn’t have sent someone to request help from Crimson Whale Sect of her own accord. Even though she was timid and nearly frightened out of her wits, she was still able to recover quickly and re-collect herself to manage Tea Sect to a tee. 

‘She’s a talent,’ Lu Sheng evaluated her in his heart.

He continued to chat with Dong Qi for a while until the horse carriage had been fully repaired. Only then did he jump aboard it. 

The wheels of the carriage sunk slightly. Inside the carriage were the mirror stand and mirror shards that Xu Chui had packed, as well as two exquisite dark yellow books. 

Lu Sheng sat down and the carriage began to crawl forward. 

He took out that little cloth puppet and the piece of blue cloth. Putting his finger to his mouth, he bit viciously. Instantly, he bit open a small wound on his forefinger, from which blood began to seep. Lu Sheng wiped his finger against the cloth puppet and the piece of cloth. 

"Szzzz…"

Threads of black smoke rose abruptly before vanishing into the air in the blink of an eye. 

In that moment, Lu Sheng could feel an icy cool sensation of Qi that flowed within him from his finger. Swiftly, it traveled to his forearm, arm, chest, then just as it was about to enter into his heart, it rapidly disappeared. 

After the Qi flowed within him for a couple of breaths of time, it dissipated and disappeared. 

‘Deep Blue,’ he commanded the Modifier to appear. 

The pale blue screen surfaced and floated before his eyes. 

The Modify button appeared behind most of the martial arts skills shown on the Modifier—with the exception of Ultimate Crimson Nine Furies Skill. There remained no available option for extrapolation.

‘After achieving Level Eight, the amount of Yin Qi necessary for upgrading and extrapolating Ultimate Crimson Nine Furies Skill has increased tremendously. That’s really troublesome,’ Lu Sheng shook his head slightly. He retracted his gaze from the Modifier to look at the mirror stand and mirror shards that lay by the side on the ground. 

He rose a little and dragged the mirror stand over. The wound on his forefinger hadn’t closed completely yet and there was still some trace of blood left on it, which he rubbed against the mirror stand. 

"Szzz…"

Black smoke immediately billowed forth as huge waves of cool Yin Qi flooded into his palm. The volume of Yin Qi was so unexpectedly large that he didn’t even have time to react—the intense cold caused his entire body to quiver. 

The amount of Yin Qi in this mirror stand far surpassed those found in the earlier piece of cloth and cloth puppet. 

Based on Lu Sheng’s approximation, if the amount of Yin Qi required to upgrade a Strength Proficiency martial arts skill by one level was one unit, then Lu Sheng roughly estimated the total amount of Yin Qi in both the piece of cloth and the cloth puppet as two units of Yin Qi in total. 

As for this mirror stand, however, huge waves of Yin Qi flowed from it endlessly into him for a full ten breaths’ span before it finally ceased. He estimated there to be at least six or seven units!

After the flow of Yin Qi ceased thoroughly, Lu Sheng looked at the mirror stand in mild surprise. 

The mirror, originally of copper material, was now mottled in a rusty green, a far cry from its previous shine. It seemed far more dated than before. 

‘Is this what happens after Yin Qi has been absorbed? Then… just what exactly is Yin Qi? What is its essence?’ these questions flashed through Lu Sheng’s mind before immediately being shelved at the back. Presently, he neither had the means nor the time to research into the nature of Yin Qi. It was better to wait till he had more time on his hands after he upgraded himself and resolved matters. 

Only after absorbing and exhausting the Yin Qi of all three objects did Lu Sheng turn his attention once again to Ultimate Crimson Nine Furies Skill on the Modifier. Indeed, the ‘Modify’ button surfaced behind the skill this time. 

Lu Sheng hesitated for a while, but decided not to carry on with it. Instead, he looked at the other martial arts skills below. 

Dusk Dantian Inflating Skill, Golden Veil Skill, Nine Lakes Steel Chains Skill, Bear-Wrestling Arm—together, these four skills composed the rock-solid foundation of his Yang Extreme Mode. 

It was the near perfect, comprehensive tempering of his body with hard body skills. 

‘I should achieve Yin Yang harmony first before attempting to liquefy inner Qi,’ Lu Sheng returned the mirror stand to its position and tied it down with a string, then sat and closed his eyes as he cultivated Aquarius Qi.

Mountain-Edge City. 

Xiao Hongye alighted unhurriedly from the horse carriage and looked at the large doors and tall perimeter wall. The two stone chimeras by the front of the doors seemed especially imposing and sinister in appearance. 

The Manor was situated near the riverbank in an unfrequented area. There weren’t many other residences here. A hospital sat not far away, where ailing elderly patients came and went constantly in coughing fits, adding a gloomy atmosphere to the surrounding. 

Xiao Hongye’s face was grim as he approached the large doors and knocked lightly. 

"Dong dong. "

A short while later, the sound of slow footsteps could be heard from inside. 

"Creak…"

The red doors opened slowly to reveal a crack, from which a hunchbacked, single-eyed elderly in gray glanced at Xiao Hongye. 

"Master has just risen; Ambassador Xiao’s arrival is always so timely." 

Xiao Hongye’s squeezed out a small smile on his chubby face.

"Senior Black, you’re too polite. It just so happens that my family acquired a five-hundred-year-old wild red fungus. I came as soon as I could to present it to Lord Officiator, considering that he has just arrived and may lack some ingredients for brewing tea," he waved a small pouch in his hands. 

The hunchbacked, single-eyed Senior Black looked at the stuff in his hands and his expression softened somewhat. 

"Come in," he opened the door. 

Xiao Hongye beamed at him as he treaded carefully past the crack in the door. 

The courtyard within looked no different from the typical courtyard—artificial mountains, flowing water, and a little bridge. However, from the corner of his eye, Xiao Hongye caught a glimpse of a servant digging a pit in the corner, as if burying something.  

"Follow me. Master happens to be in a very good mood," Senior Black led Xiao Hongye across the little bridge to enter into the main hall. 

Inside the main hall was a tall, large-built, white-haired elder who had lost one of his ears. Presently, he was clutching onto a thick thigh bone in one of his hands, bending over the condiments basin and eating with relish. He ripped off large chunks of meat from the thigh and gulped them down with gusto. 

The elder had a glowing red face and a fierce and imposing manner. A plain white top covered his body which did nothing to hide the thick bulging muscles beneath it. 

"Xiao Hongye greets Lord Officiator," upon entering the main hall, Xiao Hongye hurriedly cupped his fists in greeting. The elder before him was already a top expert of the Six-Vein Level from many years back. Although he wasn't the other’s subordinate, it wasn't out of place for him to greet him in that manner. 

"The Northern Lands don't seem too bad. Seems like Ambassador Xiao has been living pretty comfortably here," the elder said smilingly as he continued to chomp on the meat.

"Lord Officiator is jesting. The credit for the Ritual Offering goes entirely to my Lord. I was nothing but an assistant," Xiao Hongye replied in full earnestness. 

"You’ve got a glib tongue. How’s the liaising with Shangyang Family and the court officials?" the Officiator asked with a smile.

"Shangyang Family has taken a mortal faction under their wing, it is called Crimson Whale Sect. Their roots run deep here in the Northern Lands. I’ve asked them to help gather the sacrifices and they’ve agreed.

There aren’t any issues with the officials either. Taoist Bai Feng has always been cooperative," Xiao Hongye explained the situation briefly.

"Crimson Whale Sect…? I gather from what you’ve said they’re a faction built by martial art practitioners?" the elder asked again.

"Yes. This sect is the largest armed mortal organization in the Northern Lands. They’re of a pretty decent scale. Any news you want, you can get them from them," Xiao Hongye introduced.

"So they’re the local turf leaders? Previously, the wild dogs dispatched to hunt down Li Shunxi seem to have vanished in this city. Get them to investigate and see if they can find out what happened to them," the Officiator instructed.

"Yes, Sir," Xiao Hongye nodded respectfully.

"And… you’re too inefficient. Let Bai Feng and that whatever-you-call-it sect contact me directly. This is a critical period. I’ll take over full control from now on," the Officiator added.

Xiao Hongye’s face showed no change, as if he was not upset in the slightest that his power had been taken away from him. With his head bowed, he acknowledged, "Yes, you’re right, Lord Officiator."

"Emissary Xiao’s got a good head above his shoulders. He’s mindful of the big picture," a vivacious, enchanting young lady walked slowly out from the side of the hall. She only had a white piece of cloth covering her chest and a tight-fitting mini skirt on her hips. The skirt was so short that it did nothing to cover her crucial part.

But what was the most striking about the lady was not her sexy dressing, but a giant purplish black centipede crawling around her waist.

"Ah, so it’s Ambassador Bai Jing," Xiao Hongye was all smiles as he bowed in greeting. 

"This time round, four emissaries have come for the sacrifice. They are the persons-in-charge stationed in the borders," Bai Jing smiled. "With Lord Officiator holding the fort, as well as so many emissaries gathered, this Ritual Offering will surely proceed without a fault."

"Of course," Xiao Hongye parroted. 

"Alright. Emissary Xiao, you may go. Leave the stuff behind. I’ve received your thoughts," the Officiator said impassively.  

"Many thanks, Officiator," Xiao Hongye promptly lowered his head and bent over in salutation. Then, he passed the stuff to Senior Black before taking his leave. 

Only after waiting for him to exit the main hall and leave through the large doors did Bai Jing turn to look towards the Officiator.

"My Lord, this Xiao Hongye is pretty discerning. He took the initiative to surrender his power over to us."

Demons, devils, ghosts and monsters

Lu Sheng was an ordinary civil servant in the modern world. After waking from a drunken stupor one day, he found himself trapped in a dangerous world where demons, ghosts and supernatural monsters terrorize the land. 

In this world, ordinary mortals live in dark fear and helplessness, without any means to fight against the supernatural. 

As Lu Sheng struggles desperately for survival, he stumbles upon a game mod he had designed for a mobile phone app in his previous life. It unexpectedly becomes his special ability, which enables him to instantly level up any skill he learns, albeit at a cost.

Thus, Lu Sheng begins his journey, striving for power beyond the reach of a mortal as he treads the way of the Devil…  

    "ZERO" his mom yelled from downstairs "hurry up its almost time for the bus". "But schools ou...t" "oh fuck" exclaimed Zero as he remembered that he has summer camp. He got dressed, brushed his hair, brushed his teeth, grabbed his suitcase, ran downstairs, and out the door. He looked both ways and went to cross the road suddenly a truck came around the corner quickly he was frozen in fear and he was hit by the truck. He was dazed and was drifting in and out of consciousness "am I at the hospital" Zero thought. Zero however passed. The end jk jk.    
    Zero woke up in a field. He was dazed but unharmed as he slowly got up he was to dizzy to stand up but he could sit up. Eventually he stood up and looked around he was in a large field surrounded by a deep forest. Something popped up in front of Zero it said "do you wish to design your avatar?" he replied with "yes..?". "Understood" replied the system, and a screen showing him popped up "eh?" said Zero. "Ok i guess I can choose what i look like umm...what should I look like?".😐
    Zero chose his attributes hesitantly. First he cose to have two different colored eyes (his right eye white, and his left eye black, both with blood red pupil's (slits)). "Cool how do i check if it woked on me tho?" he asked himself "mabey it woks like a game... Inventory!". "Oh it worked... hmm i have a mirror" he clicked the mirror slot and it appeared in his hand. Zero looked at the mirror and seen his eyes" WOW" Zero exclaimed "it worked nice". Zero continued to design himself. Black hair that faded to white and fair skin. He looked at the mirror "wow I look awesome" he said his eyes filled with life almost sparkling. "Ok now to confirm... how do I do that" "hmm...Confirm!...yes it worked". " Please select all races that apply to what you wish to be"-system. " Ok" Zero replied. He looked at the races "ok so theirs elf, demon, meifwa I wonder what breed if cat comes with that, werewolf, angel, human thats already checked makes sense, GOD!? huh ok, and vampire". "I cant choose... wait it said I could choose multiple races I wonder if I can choose them all". "Lets try it" Zero clicks them all than says "confirm... Nice it woked".
    "Please wait to obtain armor, weapons, a class, and title. Complete quests or slay monsters to leve up" -system. " Okay thats fair" said Zero " now  I should explore". Zero walks around the forest "ah a river"...😐 Zero thought "how am i gonna collect the water tho?". "Whatever I'll look for a town". " 😱 is that a monster... I should try to beat it😤". Zero grabs a nearby stick and hits the large animal "well that did nothing 😐... ok now RUN".


The battle on the bridge was divided into two sections now. First was a stalemate between Kakashi and Zabuza, both were currently enduring to see who between the two of them fall dead first. Second was the face off between Haku on one side and the Team 7 Trio on the other.
Haku didn't spend much time talking after he came to stop them. After announcing his intention, he spun on his left foot like a ballerina, picking up speed rapidly until he was a human shaped tornado. From his spinning form, a rain of Senbons flew out.
"Defend!!" Sakura said as she grabbed both end of her Shuriken linked chain and spun it like a whip in complex pattern. With the speed at which she swung the chains, it formed a hemispherical shield of afterimages in front of her.
Meanwhile, Naruto executed Multi-Shadow Clone Jutsu and threw out a barrage of Shuriken himself. Sasuke meanwhile used Sharingan to the utmost as he defended Tazuna against the Senbons that got past Sakura.
After around a minute of this, Haku suddenly stopped and rushed towards them, running in a zigzag pattern like a lightning bolt. Moving amongst Naruto's clones, Haku destroyed them with a Senbon on each hand. One Clone, One Strike, That was all that Haku needed.
As if tacitly decided before hand, Just as Haku was about to reach Sakura, she switched with Sasuke. Sasuke leapt towards Haku with a Kunai on each hand and his Sharingan working in full power. Both of them pushed their speed to the max as they fought Senbon against Kunai.
Haku was like a gust of wind: twisting, spinning and elusive in his attacks. However Sasuke was like a snake, he kept watch on Haku with Sharingan and struck out the moment he saw a chance.
But right then, Sasuke made a mistake as he slipped on some ice, frozen by Haku on the ground while he was spinning around Sasuke. Right as Sasuke tried to regain his footing, Haku rushed forth and stabbed with his senbons.
But he realized the mistake he did the moment the Senbons touched Sasuke, or tried to at least. The moment Sasuke came in contact with the Senbons, he burst into a collection of Sakura petals that buffeted Haku and swirled around him like a mini tornado, blocking his sight, smell and hearing ability.
Before Haku could dispel this Genjutsu, a sense of danger like never before came over him. He immediately created an ice mirror in front of him to defend. However, to his utter surprise, the Ice Mirror was cleaved apart in two like a piece of tofu.
As the ice mirror pieces fell apart, Haku also dispelled the Genjutsu. In front of him, Sakura stood resolutely, with a compressed string of water attached to each of her fingers.
Staring at Haku, Sakura narrowed her eyes, "It's my turn now."
Haku dodged the next instant, just as the stone ground where he had stood was gouged out. It was as if an animal with large claws had slashed out with incredible power and speed. However, the assault didn't stop as Haku kept dodging the incredible severing strikes Sakura sent out.
The very air around Sakura let out a keening sound as it was forcefully cut apart bu Sakura's compressed water strings. Sakura was steadily walking towards Haku step by step while he dodged her attacks. 
With every step, her fingers twitched at incredible speed, whipping out blade like attacks from her water strings. If her performance with her Shuriken linked chain was defense, then this was an attack that was ten times as deadly.
After dodging yet another deadly attack, Haku performed rapid somersault before leaping up in the air. He performed swift hand signs, finishing them in a second.
"Secret Jutsu: Crystal Ice Mirror Dome!!" Haku uttered as mist around them congealed and formed dozens of ice mirrors. The mirrors stacked around the Team 7 trio, forming a large dome.
"So you specialize in speed based attacks?" Haku said while looking at Sakura, "What a coincidence, so do I.."
Suddenly, Haku's image appeared on every mirror as he prepared to rain down the senbons. However, she was interrupted by an unexpected person.
"Not so fast!!" Naruto said. Haku's eyes turned towards him and she saw that he was once again ready with Multi-shadow clone.
"I gave taste of this to your friends back there. Its your turn now!! Naruto Uzumaki: Chakra Push Barrage!!!" Naruto clones rushed to perform kamikaze attacks at the mirrors surrounding them. Haku rushed from mirror to mirror to kill them as soon as possible, however Naruto was a clone factory. 
Naruto lost ten to dozen clones for every mirror he destroyed, but he didn't stop until he was done breaking them all. Finally, Both Haku and he, knelt on the ground, tired with chakra exhaustion. However the difference was that Naruto had Sakura and Sasuke standing on either side to guard him, while Haku was all alone.
Haku pushed his limits to stand up and try weaving another hand sign for a jutsu. However, Sakura was Ready this time. Strings of chakra burst out from the ground and pierced Haku's limbs and body, stitching them together.
Leaving Naruto and Sasuke to watch over Haku, Sakura rushed to Zabuza and replicated what she did to Haku on him. However, she made sure to use Compressed water strings on Zabuza instead of Chakra strings, so that he would rip apart himself if he tried to move.
Once she was done securing Zabuza, Sakura rushed to give Kakashi some first aid. For the first time ever, she used Chakra String Stitching for the medical aid it was invented for. Once she had finished closing Kakashi's wounds, she applied some, some salves through the torn patches of his clothes. She gave him some painkillers for his pain and soldier pills to recover chakra faster.
"Good job Sakura," Kakashi said with an eye-smile "It seems your training didn't go to waste. Those Water Strings…. you invented them from your training in Water Ninjutsu?"
"Yes, a combination of the Chakra strings I use and infusion of compressed water chakra." Sakura said as she helped Kakashi stand up. She helped him walk up to Zabuza, who glared sullenly at Kakashi while kneeling right as Sakura had left him.
"What? Come to gloat at me? Or do you finally have the courage to kill me face to face?" Zabuza said with a glare.
Before Kakashi could reply, Sakura's head snapped towards the end of the bridge. Kakashi followed her gaze and narrowed his eyes.
"Well well well… it seems we have company.." Kakashi muttered before turning to Zabuza ".. and you have been double crossed."
"What??!" Zabuza exclaimed as he saw what was behind him by craning his neck.

Reincarnated as Sakura and the Journey to the Peak of the Elemental Nations.

"Hello. I'd like a room." Billie said. 
"Alright" an older man said, standing up and grabbing a large book. The Tumbleweed motel was not the classiest, by far. It was old. Very old. It was small and had maybe 20 rooms, all accessed by outside doors. It needed to be painted and the man working there was obviously the owner as well. 
"What's your name?" He asked. 
"Lily. Lily Bell." She said. She was praying he wouldn't ask for her driver's license. He scribbled her name in the ledger book and wrote the date next to along with a room number. He looked up at her and noticed her guitar and small bag. 
"Just passing through?" He asked. 
"No. I am hoping to stay in town for awhile,  just got a job at Paula's diner." She said. 
"Paula? You know Paula?" He asked. Billie could see he had some kind of fondness for her. 
"Yes. She's my friend." Billie lied a little. 
He smiled and grabbed a different key and scribbled out the original room number. 
"I'm going to give you the upstairs suite. I usually save it for people staying awhile." He said. 
"What is the rate?" Billie asked. 
"Thirty a night, a hundred fifty a week or four fifty a month." He said. She could tell he was giving her a discount. A big one. She pulled out her wallet and gave him three hundred dollars for two weeks. It was almost the last of her money. 
"After I work for a week or two, I'll be able to pay you monthly." She said. 
"Sounds good to me." He said, handing her the key. She smiled and thanked him. 
"Room one. All the way to the end and up the stairs. The only upstairs room." He said, pointing over the far end of the motel. She nodded and grabbed her things. The motel was at the end of the where the main highway in town turns back into a two lane road. It was slightly secluded yet only a short walk to the diner and she appreciated that. She climbed the stairs and put the key in and opened the door. It smelled slightly musty and old. To her surprise, it was kind of cute. There was a queen bed against the far wall facing the front door of the main room with a vintage mid century dresser and a vanity with a large round mirror, stool and drawers. A small loveseat couch was against the center wall with a television on a small tv stand on the opposite wall. The colors were green and gold and antique Starburst Atomic lamps lit up the room when she flipped on the switch. It was actually cool as hell. A retro Cosmopolitan style table and vinyl, two-tone finished orange and green patterned chairs were in the smaller living area with a sideboard stand with a vintage Green & Gold Ice Bucket Caddy Set sitting on it. A large green and amber colored Moroccan lamp style chandelier hung over the table. The bathroom had pink tiles and a cool circular light fixture around the oval mirror above the sink. She put her things down and opened the sheer curtain covering a sliding glass door that lead to a balcony overlooking a vast desert and red rocky view. It was beautiful. She was in love and couldn't believe the incredible find. She walked back inside and saw there was a small mini fridge and a regular sized coffee pot by the door which made her smile. She found a pad of paper and pen in one of the drawers and made a list. 
-coffee
-cream and sugar
-diet soda 
-sandwich stuff
-chips and veggies 
-good bourbon 
She smiled and ripped the page and put it in her bag. 
"Time to check out the town," she said, smiling. 


A struggling woman escaping her life for a new start finds that kindness and a good heart has it’s rewards when a stranger needs her help. Can we be anything other than what we are?

she stood like a statue for a few minutes and then she removed her golden veil and placed it on the stand which was placed near the mirror. she kept her hand in the mirror. and then finally she removed her mask which covered half of her face. she placed the mask on the other stand which was placed across the stand. 
she moved her hand on the part of her face which was covered before with the mask. 
she tilted her head a little up. 
" hahaha," she laughed like a devil. 
her voice covered the whole room and echoed in that place.

" what do you want to talk " 

he looked at me angrily. he moved his head side and looked at me.
