Having eaten a decent lunch, although not as great as Sister Tully's cooking, Aser felt confident once more to explore the academy. Looking at the library in the distance, Aser was tempted to see what new information he could get. He also had the Academy Guidelines book that he still needed to go through, so before doing anything else for now, Aser decided to head into the library. 

The library was located across from the cafeteria building. The building was 4 stories tall, with an open door and marble tiling. Walking past the doors while trying not to bump into the people heading out, Aser saw a grand view that flabbergasted him. Bookshelves upon bookshelves full of books. He couldn't see an end to a single aisle from where he was standing. 

While Aser was standing there like a buffoon, behind the desk near the entrance sat a prim young girl with round spectacles. Janet Rose looked curiously at this obviously new student. She had seen almost everyone during her 3 years working as a library aide, and had never seen this boy. So,  with the assumption he was new, Janet walked up to him to help him out. 

With a smile, Janet went ahead and asked the boy, "Hey, can I do anything to help? I'm guessing this is your first time here?"

Turning around to look at the girl talking to him, Aser replied embarrassed, "Umm hello. Yeah, I just got into the school today for boarding. I was just looking at the all the buildings trying to get familiar with everything."

"Oh, let me give you an introduction then. I'm one of the library aides and also a 4th year student, Janet. The library has four floors, but students only have access to the first two floors. The others are reserved for the teachers and guests of the academy. We have 60 aisles, separated into two rows on the first two floors, and each aisle has about a 100 bookshelves. So that's around 6000 bookshelves worth of materials on each floor. We have books about almost anything you can find, Essence, Cultivation, Demonic Beasts, Skills, Professions, Geography, History, Advanced Theories, System Studies, Explorer Records, Maps, whatever you can think of, you're likely to find in the First Son's Library."

"The library is also open 24/7, and there are private reading rooms near the start and end of each aisle. Most of them are usually taken when the school term starts, but you can book them ahead of time with us. Bookings are done by day and a student can book for at most one semester at a time. You can also borrow books from the library, but there is a very strict 3 day return policy on each book as well as fees if there are any damages to them while borrowed. If it's a very important book, like one where the school only has one copy, you can only read them in the library."

Nodding his head while listening to Janet's explanation, Aser suddenly had an idea. Since he was going to be studying most of the time and has no intention right now to socialize, he thought it would be great to have a fixed room for himself to study in the library. 

"Can I book a study room now?"

Hearing the little boys question, Janet thought of teasing him since he looked so adorable, "Oh? Yeah I can help you rent one. The five biggest study rooms haven't been actually booked yet, but they're very expensive. 50 Silver Notes per day. The others are only 5 Silver Notes per day. Which one do you want?"

Finding out there are different types, Aser was confused why the bigger ones were so much more expensive. Asking her that, he found out exactly why. The bigger study room is less of a study room and more of a place to live! It was big enough to accommodate 10 people studying, had a bed and bookshelf to temporarily keep hold of books they took from the library, and even allowed students to use their entree tickets from the cafeteria to order food in. He felt again what was extravagance. Forget the high prices for food in the cafeteria, a library having what is basically hotel rooms is real extravagance.

Thinking practically as well, Aser knew that there were just too many books and he had a mad desire to finish with all of them as soon as he could. Looking at the bookshelves, he also realized that there were a minimum of a 100 books per bookshelf and so a minimum of 60,000 books on just the first floor! Even if he was able to finish 100 books a day without rest or any other activity, it would still take him two years at the minimum to just go through the first floor! 

He knew that he couldn't finish everything with such a low efficiency and made a note to discuss with Ashes on what he could do to increase his efficiency. 

Seeing the black haired boy thinking with such a pensive expression as if he was getting ready for battle, Janet couldn't help but want to reach out squeeze his pale cheeks. Barely being able to hold back, she suddenly heard a question she didn't know how to answer. 

"Sister Janet, can I book one of the bigger study rooms for a month?"

"What?! A month?! I, I.. I don't know if you can afford it. It's 50 Silver Notes a day, so that's 1 Gold Note every two days, which is 15 Gold Notes a month! Are you sure you want to do that?"

Nodding his small head seriously, "Yes, I know it's a shame I only have enough to book for a month right now otherwise I'd book more time. I already calculated it, can you help me make the booking Sister Janet?"

Listening to his serious reply, Janet knew the boy wasn't joking. What a farce! Even the richest profligate sons wouldn't spend so much on a study room! They would book it for a few days before exams at most! "Okay, if that's what you want.", she replied, leading him to the desk near the entrance and asking him the his information. 

Aser scanned the crystal detector with his Identity Crystal and handed the Crystal Card provided by the bank to let her process his booking. Looking over his information, Janet decided to pay extra attention into his name. Being a student herself and only a library aide, she couldn't get private information such as his evaluation results, but she could see his name. "Aser Scholt huh….", she mumbled to herself. The name seemed familiar to her but she couldn't place it at the time. Thinking back on their conversation, she thought that he was a rich second generation and probably the King of all profligate sons in Shelfield Coast City with how he was spending his money. Deciding to keep her distance from him from now on, she finished registering his information and placing the booking. 

"Room 3 of the A Grade Study Rooms. Just go up the stairs to your right and head left. You'll see the room labeled there easily.", she instructed, handing him his Identity Crystal, Crystal Chip as well as a token for the room. 

"No, that's it for now! Thank you Sister Janet!", Aser gave a shy smile while taking the token and heading out of the library. He still wanted to explore the school grounds for today and start studying later tonight so he didn't mind not going to the study room for now. 

Looking at the boy walking out of the library and not even bothering to check the study room, Janet felt even more hesitant to be in contact with such a person who was given everything. Little did she know that the boy was an orphan and had been living in an orphanage for the past 4 years. Deciding to return to her studies, she heard some of the girls walking in while gossiping, "How do you think Aser Scholt looks like? He must be super cool of he could get a Gold Standard Scholarship. I can't believe the school is increasing so many of our benefits because of him!"

Initially not paying attention to their conversation, Janet suddenly widened her eyes in disbelief when she remembered where she heard the little boy's name. Instantly all of her disdain and hesitant washed away like the tide and she decided to pay a lot more attention to the boy whenever he'd come back.

Beasts had unlocked their System during the Ancient Era, and were once the rulers of the world. A catastrophe had caused them all to go into slumber, ushering in the Venture era where humanity started leaving their settlements to explore. As civilization progressed and tensions rose, humanity fought with themselves for the large swathes of territory. Near the end of the Conquer era, the beasts started awakening from their slumber and pushed humanity to the brink of destruction. Through efforts from humanity's top leaders, the system was unlocked for man, and thus began the era of Enlightenment. 

The goal of everyone in this era is to get enlightened, to seek Ascension. Now every child, every family, every influence seek to be an Ascended like the heroes of their world. 

Aser, an Unknown child raised in an orphanage in the Southern Seas. Like others, on his 7th birthday, the system had awakened in his mind, but he realizes he's special. As he explores the mysteries of the System, our protagonist strives to excel, to prove his worth in the world of Gigantis, to find his parents and to figure out the path to Ascension.

I have an old habit of hurting myself. It started when I was 13. My mom's a newspaper journalist and dad's a casino manager. They're always out of the house and I rarely see them even on weekends. To compensate for that, I was showered with the latest gadgets and a big allowance. We live in a big house but it's almost always empty. Most of the time it's just me and the housekeeper Janet. 

I grew up under her care. She has been our housekeeper since I was born. She never got married nor left the family and Indeed she was paid handsomely for her loyalty. But I did ask her why she didn't find a man and settled down, she said "I'm too old to get married, besides, who would go to your PTAs if I were to leave?" Which was right. She has been there for me all these years. 

Still, I wanted my parents' attention. I buried my head studying since there wasn't much to do anyway. I was always top of the class and became quite popular but my parents don't seem to acknowledge my hard work. I joined the school paper because I know it would please my mom. I worked really really hard to get them to look at me. But I got tired. One day I just told my self enough.

Janet was on leave and I was alone at home. I woke up at noon and heated my meals Janet cooked yesterday. She knew it was my birthday so she prepared quite a feast for me; she even baked a cake. I reminded myself to thank her later. I spent the rest of my afternoon alone reading a book and browsing the web. Since I wasn't a very sociable person I have nobody to go out with or invite at home. Night came and I blew my candles and greeted myself.

"Happy 13th Birthday Alvin."

I couldn't help the tears flowing from my eyes. I celebrated my birthday alone too last year. This year was no different. I hated both of them. They could forget it's my birthday but it's Christmas, have they forgotten it too?

I know it was petty. Birthdays, Holidays or whatever it was could be celebrated at a later time but I hated it that my parents wouldn't even try to at least acknowledge my existence. They didn't even bothered calling or sending me a message or e-mail. A part of me also hated myself. My parents were working hard for my sake yet here I was complaining. I don't know what to think anymore.

I went to my room and found the butterfly knife on my desk. It has a black handle with silver blade that I bought to a bazaar a few weeks ago. I took a deep breath and cut through my wrist. I watched as my blanket turned red. 

It's my blood.
Said the portion of my brain that's still active.
It's odd. My vision was starting to blur.
Am I dying? Why do I feel so alive?

I lay in my bed and waited. 
Waited for what? Death? For someone to rescue me?

It hurts but the pain felt good. I cried my heart out till I couldn't feel anymore. My head felt heavy and the everything turned black. I woke up at a hospital the next day.

"Hey what happened to that?" asked Rick Fernandez. He's my classmate. He's tall, around 6ft and currently captain of the basketball team. I, on the other hand, stood 4 inches less than him and currently Editor in Chief of the Campus Newspaper.

Rick was pointing in at the scar on my wrist from 5 years ago.

I brushed him off and walked away. 

"Nevermind, I think I know," he said, "Sorry."

He kept following me. "Hey, you're such a snob" he called.

I walked along the hallway as quickly as I could but Rick had no problem matching my pace.

"Hey wanna have lunch?" he asked while placing a hand on my shoulders. 

I wasn't really trying to show my unease but I think he did notice. I don't like people getting too close, especially touchy people. 

"Stop following me please." I said I weaved my way through the corridor towards the publication room. I noticed a few glances from girls from the junior class. Well, it's Rick walking beside me, so it's normal. He's tall plus he's really good looking. He has deep hazel eyes and black curls and his body well trimmed. He's perfect, physically, at least. 

"Sorry." he said again for the second time.

"Just leave me alone OK?" I answered as coldly as I could and left him by the door.

I entered the LHigh Publication Office, also known as the PubRoom, which is my safe haven in this school. In here I could work and forget everything else. I liked being around people, the staff, who understands me well enough not to bother with my personal issues. Here at the PubRoom we're all business.

"Is that Rick?" Except for her - Jessica Martin, the associate editor, a senior like me, and probably the only person here at the Pub Room who doesn't mind their own business. "Didn't know you were close."

"We're not" I answered.

"You're too honest, Alvin."

I ignored her. "How's the articles going?"

Jessie sighed, she liked talking - a lot. She's lovely and smart but with a badmouth. She swears like a sailor which is contrary to her pretty face and sweet smile. Jessie's one of the popular girls in school. She's half Spanish, half Filipina so her beauty really stands out. 

"It's effing good." She handed me a thick folder containing the articles due for the week. "I think we only have a few that hasn't been submitted."

I nodded to her. "Good."

"You know I'm worried about Rick." She suddenly said. It's common for Jessie to blurt out random thoughts when she feels like it. "He's a bit troubled at home but it doesn't really show, does it?"

Jessie and Rick were neighbors and childhood friends. They were inseparable since elementary school. They even dated for a short while.

"Troubled?" I asked. I don't normally care about other people's lives but I was curious. I've also known Rick since elementary school but we weren't close. 

"Yea, his parents got separated, heard the annulment is almost settled. Then they'll have the custody hearing for his younger brother."

"Three months shy from graduation, huh?"

"Yea, although I don't think their parents would let him quit school now. Tragic."

" It is. " was all I managed to say.

I saw Rick again that afternoon, after class has ended. I was at the cafeteria drinking red iced tea and drafting an editorial. He sat beside me and smiled. He was eating a double cheeseburger and lasagna and large coke. I wondered where he put all those carbs? He looked so fit.

Shit. What was I thinking? Did I just thought of that? 

I tried to ignore him and focus on my writing but I couldn't help watching him. He looked so .. Hungry? I couldn't find the right word, he just looked happy. 

He noticed me and looked up, smiling.

"Wanna eat too? I'll buy you a lasagna if you want?"

I blushed, "no thanks, I'm not hungry."

He looked back at his plate. "Still won't eat with me huh?, you turned me down twice today."

I remember him asking me to have lunch earlier.

"Sorry, I'm really not hungry. Next time maybe?"

He nodded. 

I stood up and fixed my bag. "I'll see you tomorrow."

Rick grabbed me by the wrist and looked up "really?"

"Huh?"

"I'll see you tomorrow" he grinned and let me go.

I walked away wondering what was wrong with him.

Alvin is bad at making conversations. He's smart and popular but he mostly kept to himself. One day, basketball captain Rick invaded his personal space and is throwing him off. How would Alvin handle this invasion? And what is Rick's motive for doing so?

The next day James and Lillith woke up, and went to get their school uniform, they where asked to come around to the back of distributions building, where they entered through the back door. They where then measured at every possible point, and they began making their school uniforms. After around 20 minutes or so their uniforms where completed. Made from the highest quality silk, and form fitted to the individual, that in itself already made it top of the line, yet it went one step further, and there where exquisite patterns of dragons and cloud woven into the uniform, making it stand out among other uniforms made with the same material. These uniforms where the ones class X wore. Class S had similar uniforms made of the same materials, but not form fitted and without and design. As one went down the rank of classes the lower the quality of uniform. Class F, the worst class had uniforms, what where raggedy, or full of patches, they where often the most uncomfortable material to wear, and they only had one set. Class X on the other hand got 7 sets of uniforms, An a different uniform for each season. Just from the uniforms of the students where enough to show the separation of status within the school. Class X had a classroom that was extravagant as a mansion, and had maids and butlers waiting on the students. Class S had a classroom that was slightly less extravagant as class X, and no one to wait on the students. It continues downward quickly after that, with Class F, whose at the bottom, having no classroom, and having to do all classes outside. Then there where the teachers, The teacher for class X was an extravagant beauty, whose beauty could topple empires, she always teaches to each students understanding, she helps each student one on one, and makes sure each student unleashes their full potential. Teachers of the S Classes, taught to each students understanding, but never one on one, and never helped students unleash their full potential. It keeps falling, Class F who we all know is at the bottom, the teacher might hand out a book for the students to read, and understand, but he doesn't take questions, he doesn't help the students understand anything at all, and most of the time he doesn't even show up at all, or when he does, he usually sleeps the entire time. The final things are the dorms and learning materials,each Class X student get's their own 5 story mansions, that are kept in pocket dimensions, the pocket dimensions, are about 5000mX5000m and the mansions are 1000 meters by 1000 meters, and each story is a 100 meters tall. The mansions are built with tempered wood, so it can't burn, tempered glass, so it can't shatter, and tempered brick, so it can't break It's an absolute paradise. Class S gets the Mansions, that are on school grounds, that don't have the tempering, but have the same dimensions as Class X. Class F on the other hand, have hand built little shacks, that often reek, and break easily. Class X get's the highest quality books(always brand new) mechanical pencils, where the lead never breaks or runs out, and the erasers don't leave smudges or smirks behind, and the eraser never needs replacing. The get chairs and tables made from the highest quality wood. Whenever they need beast cores, or herbs they always get the highest purity, and fist pick. Lastly, as we all could guess, Class F has no chairs or tables, they get to sit on the muddy ground, the don't get pencils or materials, they get absolutely nothing. 

Why would a school do that to one of it's own classes. It's because, there is only two ways to end up in class F, one is to break the rules of the school on multiple occasions, and the second way  is to overstay your welcome. You see Ruby fire School is a 4 year school, which means, if you don't graduate in 4 years, you automatically go to class F, regardless of where you where before. The school has deemed you not worthy of their time, so naturally if your in class F you receive nothing. Class E is just lowest talent, so they receive the bare minimum, to graduate in 4 years. The only way to go up in classes, is either through an administrators recommendation letter, or through the class competition, that happens at the end of every quarter. This was all within the rule book that James and Lillith received upon on getting their stuff from the distribution center. At the distribution center, they also cleaned and groomed the both of them.  After leaving the distribution center, they headed straight to the Class X. 

As James entered class X
"Oh MY GOSH, is that the guy that's joining our class, SO HANDSOME" all the girls screamed and fainted at the same time. 
James went in and took his seat  which was in between Lillith's and Kathirene's after sitting down he heard more chatter
"he's the only guy to ever enter class X, and we have him all to ourselves" some of the girls said while staring at James. 
*THUMP*

"Alright everyone, its the start of a new school year, which means introductions once again"
"As you all Know I'm Miss Janet, your teacher" We have two new recruits to our class, James and Lillith. As their 'seniors, please guide them to your fullest. Alright, everyone introduce yourself to our new recruits" 
"I'm Sakuna" one the girls sitting close to James said
"I'm Janice" Said Another girl
"I'm Kana" Said Another
"I'm Alice" Said the final one
That's correct, the top class know had 7 people, the most it's had since the school founding. 
Naturally as you go down in class rank you get more people per class, with class E being the most filled.
"Alright, now that where all introduced, it's time to begin class. The principle of Mage hood and Knight hood are ....." Janet began explaining
She explained, everything from how mages use elements, to how Warriors get their power, how to rise in rank, how to figure out what technique is best suited to you and everything else.  She explained it quickly, but all the students memorized it just as fast, They only needed one class period to learn everything, and they spent the rest of the time preparing for the class competition. That's how they stayed on top, they where all super genius, yet the scariest thing was, they all had the same paths, sub paths and affinity. Yet only 3 where known, because the others, got in through various connections skipping the assessment all together. No where else could you find 7 super geniuses with photographic memory, and Divine comprehension, all bundled in one room. Your more likely to find a needle in a sea, than you are to find a second group like them.
"Alright, since everyone here that isn't James or Lillith  is in their second year, you guys can go practice your various techniques. James and Lillith come with me" Janet said
James and Lillith followed Miss Janet back to her room. 
"I want you to channel your inner Ki into here" Janet said while handing them an orb
James and Lillith did exactly that. This was an orb to determine ones bodily constitution.
"OHH, MY GOSH, DIVINE NINE YANG, AND DIVINE NINE YIN BODY CONSTITUTIONS" Miss Janet shouted at the top of her lungs. Luckily their where various barriers in place, otherwise the scream would have caused a ruckus.  
"Hurry, use this orb to test your souls." Janet said
James and Lillith did the same as last time channeling their inner Ki into the orb
"OHHHH, Just as I guessed you guys also possess the Secret Divine Souls. And what more, thier the nine yang soul, and nine yin soul." Janet explained
"What do you mean by also?" Lillith asked
"Well I may not know how soul warriors form bodies, but the constitution of the body formed is based on the rank of the soul. Also all your classmates possess the same body and soul constitution as you do, as do I" Janet explained to Lillith
"Oh, that's how you knew. Is there anything else" James Asked
"Take these techniques and practice them, since you can only use techniques issued by the school in the upcoming competition in 3  months" Janet said
James and Lillith took them, and used the name tokens from the school to open their pocket dimension and travel through. The moment they entered, they began practicing to their utmost, and stayed that way for the rest of the day

Outside the meeting room.

" When are you leaving?" Kevin asked.

" I'll be staying for a few days. When are you guys leaving?" Chris asked.

" Everything is done but we were planning to stay for a few weeks to settle down a few things but the new lover boy here has some different plans." Rocky said.

" Plan? Like what?" Chris asked.

" It's Silvia's birthday in a few days so I am planning to throw a surprise party for her at the mansion." Kevin said.

" Ah that's nice so we can fly back together then." Chris said.

" Did you ask Silvia to choose the interiors?" Kevin asked.

" I have already asked Martha to take their suggestions." Chris said.

Blueberry cafe.

" So what do you both think?" Martha asked.

Flipping through the catalog, Silvia said," I don't know what to say."

" Yeah it's hard." Janet said.

Martha rolled her eyes and said," Come on you two how difficult it is to choose from these designs?"

Silvia sighed and said," Kevin never told me about this. Well he did tell me that we will be shifting places but he never told me that I have to choose the interiors and other things."

" Even Rocky never told me about this." Janet said.

" You both can take this home and then think before you give me the designs. Since Chris is not here, I have to take care of this and ask the architects to start the work." Martha said.

" So everything okay between you and Chris?" Silvia aksed.

Martha smiled and said," It had never been so wonderful."

" I seriously never thought that Emily could stoop so low." Janet said.

Martha sighed and said," I know, I trusted her but she-"

" Ah will you two stop talking about my husbands ex in front of me?" Silvia said. 

Martha took a deep breath and said," Sil I just want to tell you something, never trust whatever you see or hear especially when Emily is involved. She is dangerous and-"

Silvia frowned and asked," And what?"

" She is still after Kevin." Martha said.

" Ahhh isn't she already married? What an unruly women." Janet said.

Taking a sip from her coffee, Silvia said," So what if she still after Kevin? Kevin is already is already mine." Yes, Kevin was already Silvia's forever. Silvia knew that no matter what Kevin would never choose Emily over her.

Martha smiled and said," Obviously he will never do that. Kevin is already head over heels for you."

Silvia widened her eyes in shock and asked," What do you mean?"

Janet chuckled and said," Oh God Martha don't spoil everything for them."

" Oh okay okay, just forget what I said okay Silvia?" Martha said.

" Come on you two start spilling and tell me everything." Silvia said.

Janet chuckled and said," Well I cannot tell you everything but I can just tell you that your husband is acting like a teenager who has just started falling for someone back at the army camp."

" And they have given him a name too ' New lover boy'" Martha said.

Silvia chuckled and said," New lover boy? Are you serious?"

Janet nodded her head and said," Yes, because he is acting like one. He wakes up pretty fast and completes his morning exercise routine so that he can talk to you. He eats fast so that he can talk to you."

" Doesn't take his evening tea so that he can talk to you." Martha continued.

Silvia laughed and said," I don't believe you both."

" Ahh we aren't lying Sil, I swear Chris told me about this."

" Rocky told me about this too." Janet said.

Silvia smiled and said," Oh okay then." She was feeling giddy and happy at the same time. Was Kevin really falling for her? If yes then was she falling for him too? 

" Hey Sil when are you leaving for your honeymoon?" Martha asked.

" The day after Kevin comes." Silvia said.

" Ahh we have to go shopping." Janet said.

" Exactly and what about grooming? We also have to go to the parlour." Martha said.

" So many things to do but we don't have time." Janet said.

Silvia sighed and said," There is nothing much to do. We are just going on a honeymoon."

" Girl you know what people do in a honeymoon right?" Janet asked.

Martha gasped and said," What? You people haven't done it yet?"

Janet laughed and said," No they haven't though I guess something happened before Kevin left this time." 

Heat crept all over Silvia's face when the images of what had happened that night flashed in front of her eyes.

" Your red face says it all Silvia." Martha said.

" Just take care of everything and let me know what happens. You don't have to be very harsh. You just have to scare her did you understand?" William said.

Judas nodded his head and said," Yes sir."

" And make sure father or Jackie no one knows about this. I don't want them to know the existence of that girl." William said before entering his office.

" I heard that you had gone to the hospital today." A young man who was sitting on Williams chair said.

" When did you come back?" William asked.

Getting up from the chair, the young man said," Few hours ago."

William frowned and asked," Isn't your exam starting from next week? Then what are you doing here Oliver."

Oliver chuckled and said," I didn't feel like giving the exam so I came back."

" Judas book tickets for your young master." William said.

" I am not going back father. I am already educated enough to work at Jones Enterprise." Oliver said.

William sighed and said," You know the situation right? Your grandpa is still the CEO and chairman of the company. You uncle Jackie is the VP and I am there too."

" Why don't you ask grandpa to step down? He is already old and is good for nothing." Oliver said.

William frowned and said," This is not the way you talk about your grandpa."

Oliver rolled his eyes and said," Whatever."

" Go home for now and we will talk about this later." William said.

" What?! are we surrounded by my siblings' forces on both sides. " panicky Masako.

Even though Masako had immovable confidence in her grandma's strength to protect her
and defeat all enemies. But last time when faced against grand masters from 13 families her grandma did not fare well and ran, deciding to live to fight another day. That time they had to pay a huge cost as all the Sukehimes subordinates in the capital sacrificed themselves to let them grandma and granddaughter pair to escape the siege of Grand masters from 13 families. 

Now hearing that the grand masters of the 13 families have surrounded them from both sides Masako could not believe what she was hearing, this time she did not even have strong subordinates who would block the enemies as she escaped, she really felt desperate and cornered. 

Sukehime in her prime could pridefully take on the whole world and still come victorious, these grand masters of the 13 families where nothing, these little kiddies were not even born in her heyday and therefore lack the horror and terror when they face Sukehime. The old fogies from her time are half killed by her and the half that is alive still tremble in horror just hearing her name. Do not look at Sukehime as a normal priestess, during the initial period when the yokai were rampant in Edo Japan Sukehime single handedly massacred the ' Night parade of 100,000 yokai'. such a character was now made to retreat from some hairless Juniors really frustrated Sukehime.

Like Masako's panicky reaction, the team was going crazy, Just when they thought they had hugged on to a golden thigh world terror had increased the scenario difficulty by another level. Mira was freaking out , she had just received a 8 star Occupation and a 9 star sub occupation, Just when Scenario was finally taking a good turn in their favor, the scenario took a sudden u turn to bite their arses. She frantically asked [ Malinda, what is happening? Tell me we are going to be okay]

[ Okay, Mira we are going to be Okay!] replied Malinda dramatically. 

Hearing this, the rest of the team gave Malinda a not so funny look. Malinda spreaded her arms and said [ What were you guys expecting? I repeatedly warned you guys not to bring huge changes to the scenario, Sukehime was supposed to die under the Moon Dew Poison but she lived, now scenario is trying to kie her at any cost. Hence big brothers of 13 families have gathered to kill her. ]

Whenever a change happens in the scenario from the original plotline, the scenario tries to fix it by any means necessary, therefore many Dreamwalkers or Terror walkers try not to bring any kind of change to the scenario till they have completed the main taskline, unless their Main task lines itself requires them to do so.  

Similarly in case of Sukehime, He was supposed to die at the hands of the sniper earlier but survived now bringing a huge change to the plotline, Now the scenario is trying to self heal itself trying to kill Sukehime at any cost. scenario should have also made appropriate damage control, that is to ensure the safety of Masako and Hito even after the death of Sukehime. 

According to the Scenario if The only bug weapon to kill a op person like Sukehime Moon Dew Poison has been used up, leaving the only other way to kill Sukehime are all the Grand Masters from the 13  families. Even though these grand masters are not strong enough to kill Sukehime they are strong enough to hold her back while the rest will kill Masako. 

According to the Scenario if everything goes according to plan, 

The grand masters of the 13 families will try to kill Masako when the opportunity provides itself, then Sukehime in order to protect Masako willingly burn through all her vitality killing all the grand masters and herself in the process this way Sukehime is killed while Masako is safe, the scenario returns to original potline. 

But the problem that concerns the Team is that, Scenario will see to the safety of the Princess Masako and Hito will the big leagues fight but what about them they are weaker than Masako and require more protection, definitely the scenario will also try to get rid of the variables that is them during this chaos. Thinking of this James and the team shuddered with horror.

Mira, who heard Malinda's words, was furious and asked [ are you blaming Trisha for saving Sukehime? Now, I did not see you complain when you were receiving the occupation prop from Sukehime. You hypocrite if not for Trisha timely saving Sukehime you would be dead right now. Why? You do not believe me, what would Masako think if you were to refine Nether flame heart while her grandma was dead, she would definitely rip you into pieces. you have to be grateful to Trisha if not for her selfless act do you think Sukehime and Masako would let you have the Nether flame. They would rip it out of you even if it meant killing you.]

James and the team who were also upset with Malinda's remarks were surprised to see Mira come to Trisha's defense, even though it was not necessary as what Malinda said was just a thoughtless remark she clearly did not mean to blame Trisha. But still Mira's action did surprise the rest of the team. 

Sukehime slow flew down and answered Masako " Your Siblings forces, allies, troops and Assassins have gathered and are heading towards us surrounding us on both sides. Instead of waiting in ambush for us they seem to have decided to corner us in the middle of the road of wandering misty forest. It seems like the escaped sniper has sold our information, otherwise they would not dare to attack us from both sides without accurate information. They will be here within the next 20 minutes. I think they have ditched the low ranking soldiers to reach us faster. " 

Then the Team began their act and acted as if they did not understand what was going on, Janet dramatically asked " Sukehime Sama, forgive my interruption and rudeness." 

Sukehime glanced at Janet who had bowed her head trying to show proper the Japanese manners, and explained, " I already told you before we were on the run. These guys are the ones we are running from. They are the grand masters from Masako's elder brothers and sisters' maternal families. Their purpose is to kill Masako or me. Either way Masako will lose the chance to inherit the throne. " 

Sukehime was right if Sukehime dies then Masako's chances of inheriting the throne are almost zero, as the allied force that supported Masako only supported her because of the Sukehime supporting her. In the original works when Masako and Hito finally reached Kitsuki to gain the support of allied forces, the Kitsuki allied forces laughed at Masako's naivety and also tried to capture her in order to gift her to the 13 families and gain some rewards. 

Sukehime knew this but still sacrificed herself to protect her beloved granddaughter. This act of selflessness in Sukehime's part friend the will of Masako to defeat all her siblings and claim the throne in honor of her grandma.

Sukehime's Gaze landed on James, noticing the huge changes to James physically and spiritually Sukehime was surprised then she intently looked at James. Masako and the team also followed Sukehime's gaze and were surprised to find ripping James. 

James felt everyone's gaze so he blushingly stood there, " if I told you I Just happened to have an enlightenment from the world and turned like this, are you willing to believe me? "

" That explains a lot " exclaimed Masako and the team also nodded in agreement. Sukehime seems not to believe James's story and said " that explains the Nature runes but not you trying to inscribe runes on yourself. " 

" Nature Runes!!Inscribing runes on live body " exclaimed Masako, the team did not know much about the runes and Janet was just a rookie so they did not understand why Masako exclaimed hearing Sukehime's question neither did Masako bother to explain to them, she just stared intently at James.  

Sukehime was a peak rune master; nothing could escape her eyes; she could easily spot the hidden runes inscribed on James' entire body. James sweated bullets and hurriedly explained, " your Highness, I have basic mastery of runes, once I saw your Corpse Puppets, covered in runes I was inspired and thought to try the same with myself but when I started to Inscribe the runes on my body I had a sudden enlightenment then one thing lead to other and I turned like this. "  

Hearing James' explanation , Sukehime nodded in understanding. Masako also nodded and said " you are really lucky to receive enlightenment at the right movement or else your body would explode if you had copied the same runes from the corpse puppet. Is getting enlightenment so easy these days " sighed Masako " anyways congrats on learning 3 Nature runes now you have become someone worthy of my follower. I think I should reward you. "

The loud sound of rain drops beating against the window pane was music to his ears. The temperature had dropped by roughly 15 degrees overnight. The warmth given off by the heater felt like some heavenly comfort. Henry sat there,his hands gripping Janet's , who was still asleep. The more he thought about the events of the previous night, the lesser everything made sense. The memories he received didn't even feel his own. They were in direct contradiction to what he already remembered. To make matters worse, he could not remember any memory completely. The more he focussed on one, the hazier it kept getting. These contrasting memories were causing him a severe headache. 

But all of that didn't matter at that moment. All that mattered was that Janet was there with him and for the first time ever, he didn't feel lost or out of place. The world, that was always monochromatic for him suddenly seemed colorful as a rainbow. Even the white walls of the hospital seemed so cheerful and full of life. Henry wished that time would stop and he could sit there his entire life, just looking at her. His prayer went instantly rejected as Janet slowly opened her eyelids. Her eyes were blue like an ocean. An ocean in which Henry wanted to get lost and never find his way back.

The door of the ward opened and the medroid(medic robot) in charge of Janet rolled in. After a series of tests and beeping, Janet was declared fit for discharge. As they were walking down the stairs, Henry gently took her hand in his own , feeling a sense of satisfaction and fullness. They decided to not go to school and hang out together.

"You know , the day after tomorrow is my birthday", said Janet as she gulped down her mouthful of noodles. "You are finally coming of age, right? How will you celebrate" interrogated Henry with excitement. "Well, I don't like celebrating birthdays. But I am happy that I am coming of age. I will finally be able to live life independently" Janet said in  a noticeable tone of dejection."For some reason, birthdays always make me sad. I never celebrated my birthday in the orphanage. Once I come of age , I will leave that place forever" Janet added. So she lived in an orphanage too, Henry wondered. After all that had happened, could this be a coincidence or was something really big at play here?

"Everybody pay attention please", the restaurant shopdroid said in a robotic voice , " there is a new announcement that will be made by the INTELLIGENCE. Everybody must follow whatever is being said".

"Good Day , fellow Earthlings, its time for Friction recruitment for the month of December. All who are interested can fill the forms that will be uploaded into your integrated network system registered devices. Remember, Once selected, there is no going back."

No one knew where the INTELLIGENCE was located. Neither was the location of Friction's HQ known. The only way to contact friction was through the INS devices. All communication to the INTELLIGENCE was made via Friction.

The recruitment happened every three months and the exact process of selection was unknown. Those who are selected receive free food and shelter for themselves and their family at the cost that they will never get to see their family again. Mainly, the lower classes signed up for recruitment and no one ever heard from those who were selected.

 As they got up to leave ,Henry suddenly remembered one of the acquired memories from the previous night. The memory was short. A person, with his face hidden under a cloak and a Δ on his pocket spoke to a camera, " It's all a show. Don't trust Friction. Don't trust the INTELLIGENCE". Henry did not know what to make of the memory. He did not what to make of anything that was happening. He did not even know if the memories were his. All he knew was that the acquired memories were more real than what he already had. Any sort of defiance against INTELLIGENCE was punishable by law. So Henry stayed silent but he knew, there was something wrong with friction and these memories were an indication that he had to figure it out.

When Henry reached home, he passed out from the pain in his forehead. The entire next day, he kept losing and gaining consciousness. Each time he woke up, a part of his orphanage memory was completely lost and replaced by the acquired memories. When he finally woke up on 26th December, he knew , the acquired memories were real and the previous ones were fake. The memories that had replaced the fake ones from way back in the past were more difficult to recall than the ones that had replaced recent ones. There were still gaps between the new memories that were filled with the old memories. However,  all memories from the last 3 years were completely unaltered. He had so many questions but he had no idea about where to start looking for the answers.

"Happy Birthday Janet" whispered Henry into Janet's ears as he sneaked up to her. "Thank you" said Janet in a voice that lacked any excitement. She gave him a small peck and left for her class. From just the look in her eyes, Henry could say that she was hurting but as to why, that was beyond him. He wondered if it had anything to do with the memories. His daydreaming was cut short by the announcement, "Henry Parker, come to the principal's office right away". After all, he could not have expected to skip classes two days in a row without any consequences.

After 20 minutes of explaining and apologizing, he left the office and headed for his class. As he entered the Lecture theater, every eye was glued on him. The news about Henry spending a night alone with Janet at the hospital spread like wildfire. "So, did you guys kiss already" an excited David interrogated. Henry wasn't sure if it was a good idea to be talk about what happened and thought that it might hurt Janet. So, he decided to keep his silence and avoiding his question, asked one himself "Wanna go out for a movie". David was perplexed. Never in his life has Henry ever said yes when David asked him to hang out. Although, he wasn't gonna let the opportunity go by complaining. "Yeah, The legend of Papronicus had excellent audience response. Want me to book tickets?" asked David with a grin. Henry didn't plan for this. He simply wanted to avoid the question."I didn't say today. Some other day, perhaps", Henry came up with the best excuse he could.

"How about shopping?" asked Henry as they were walking home after school. "Seriously? The whole idea of shopping seems absurd to me. Walking into the store first and deciding what to buy later just doesn't make much sense" replied Janet. "How about a movie?" asked Henry almost instantly. "The legend of Papronicus had excellent audience response", he added after a little thought. Janet knew that Henry wasn't going to give up. So, she agreed for the movie. Henry wanted to ask her if she also experienced anything that night but he was unsure how he would explain himself if her answer was negative. So , he just let the idea go.


As Henry stood in the queue for the tickets, he received an encrypted cryptomail. Seeing the contents of the mail, Henry couldn't believe his eyes. There was a picture of five kids; Him, Janet , two other boys and a girl. The picture was followed by a text : " If you want answers , meet me at 31st and Crabbe in 30 minutes and bring Janet with you". His heart was pounding hard. On one side , he wanted answers and on the other, he knew that all of this could and would get him into trouble. He walked slowly towards Janet. It was time. He had to ask if she remembered anything. As he reached her, he did not need to ask. The look on her face as she looked at the photo on her phone gave him his answer. "Let's go" said Henry. Janet nodded and they drove off towards 31st and Janet, unsure of what to expect. 

The cool breeze in the air seemed full of mysteries. Henry had this internal strife with himself. He wasn't sure if he really wanted answers or not. His life , after all this time of being dull, finally started gaining color when Janet came in it. Now, he had a fear. The fear of losing her. "Are the answers worth risking everything", he constantly kept asking the entire way. As the car pulled over near the warehouse, he still wasn't sure.

When they reached the abandoned warehouse at the designated address, it seemed completely empty. There was a nauseating smell that filled the space inside the warehouse. "HELLO", called out Henry into the darkness. "Hello Henry Robinson and Janet Smith. Welcome to Delta. Before I continue, take some rest" replied the darkness. The name delta seemed familiar although they had never heard it. Before they could process what just happened, something stung their neck and they passed out.

Their bodies were loaded onto a truck by mysterious men in hoodies and the truck drove off.

In the year 2101, Science is the only religion and Friction, the only ruler.

Justice system as we know it, is obsolete and the AI "GRID" makes the rules.

World is progressing at a rate that is unheard of in history. But history itself is something that the people don't completely recall.

Join the journey as Janet and Henry go on the epic journey to find out answers about themselves and the history of the world. A mission that could be THE LAST HOPE of humanity or perhaps , the end of the world as we know it.




* This is my first time writing something so please keep it in mind while judging. I am a student and at times, if I have work to do, chapters might get a little delayed. So bear with me.

When Matt ended reading a book, he could see that almost midnight come. While looking at his phone he murmured "so today is a day of me starting being an unknown hero". When he looked at it one minute only left to it. While he was doing it, he could hear "happy one-year anniversary unknown hero".

While looking out he could see that everyone was on their balcony. "Thanks" he murmured and then he walked back. While he was there, he makes food and while having it he comes back to reading while eating. While he was doing it Andy's voice comes "how are you".

"Nothing changed but I hope nobody will disturb me now," Matt said to him.

"I know but you hear this," Andy asked.

"Yes," Matt said.

"It's around the world they were planning it for over a month that everyone should do this" Andy said.

"And you telling me about this because," Matt asked.

"Oh, just to be you better," he said.

"I know but still it's so fucking annoying," Matt said.

"Wait, I will send you the best views," Andy said and then he started sending him them. While having it Matt said, "I will look about it later now I'm going back reading and then sleep,".

"Ok our hero lets have a party when you did anniversary at school," Andy said. 

"I hope so we will have one" Matt said and then Andy ended connection. When he did this Matt started looking at clips which he received. The first few been only some actors but later he looked closely. While looking at it he could see necked beauties screaming it. While seeing it he fast deleted it and then he murmured "you and your love for boobs" and then he come back to reading books. While he ended it, he could see that almost two has come. While seeing it he prepared uniform for tomorrow and then he goes sleep. 

While he was sleeping for a long time, call him to wake him up. While seeing an unknown number he answered and said "yes".

"Where are you," Janet asked.

"In bed sleeping," Matt said.

"Everything will start in ten minutes and you only one is missing," she said.

"Ok I will there soon," he said while getting up taking a fast shower and walking to school. 

When Janet ended her call, she looked at the teacher and she said: "he overslept".

"Oh it's a new thing," someone said.

"Yes, it's a new one but we should be careful if he does this now what will happen later," the teacher said. While hearing her Janet said, "he is coming I will wait for him outside,".

"Ok," the teacher said. While she walked out, she could see that Matt walk fast to school. While seeing him she comes closer and after fixing his uniform she said: "you know that you shouldn't do this".

"What book takes me too much," he said while looking at her.

"Oh could you borrow it to me," she asked.

"Maybe lets come back inside and then we can talk," he said. While hearing him she nodded, and then they started walking inside. While they come to the classroom teacher said: "why you have your bag with you".

"Oh I have some food for me and while I couldn't hide it I just take it," Matt said. 

"Ok" teacher said and then they walked out. While they come there, everyone looked at the headmaster and then he started speech "welcome everybody on this nice day. While most of you know one year ago war world three started. While we thought it will be the end of our world someone come and then he ended it.".

While listening to him everyone started clapping. While hearing it Matt did the same but from his point of view, it was much different. While he hasn't paid attention to what the headmaster is talking about while most of it been political and brainwashing information's Matt looked at everyone who had been listening to him. While he was doing it Andy said: "everyone will play one more time your action".

While hearing it Matt nodded a little while knowing that Andy is looking at him he comes back to not listening all. 

While Matt been doing it Andy stopped listening to what happened around Matt's place and then he turned to general and he said: "sir nothing new happened all is good".

"Be ready I have felt that something will happen in empire and while don't know what we need to be ready for it?" General Harris said.

"yes, sir," Andy said while going around seeing if something new is happening. 

While he was doing it Ann comes inside and while seeing them she said: "Sir I'm ready to come back".

"You have two weeks leave," the general said.

"But sir I'm ready," Ann said.

"Its order" general said.

"Yes sir," Anna said while saluting.

"So how is your arm," Andy asked.

"Healed," Ann said.

"It's fast," he said.

"Yes that's why I'm telling I'm ready," Ann said.

"You will need to pass again psychological tests," the general said while getting up from his chair and then he said, "I will be in my office tell me when something happened".

"Yes sir," Andy and Ann said at the same time. While they told it they started looking at what is happening. 

In the middle of the Irish Sea.

"Boss we will be there soon," the pilot said.

"Ok be ready soon we will go there and attack we have around fifteen minutes," boss of the red group said.

"Yes, sir," every one from his group said at the same time. While he looked around, he could see that ten helicopters been close each of them was an old empire type but still they use them in some places. While he been doing it he said: "I will tell this one more time to be ready and I hope you remember our target".

"Yes sir," everyone said and then they started being impatient for a mission to start.

The year 2096

One year ago WWIII ended after only a few days. While everyone were ready for the end of world mysterious agent show up while saving them. 

From this year Everyone around the world knows that legends about Black Agents been real and everyone started looking at them. 

Matthew Anderson is a normal guy who goes to Manchester Military School as one of the few civilians. 

He doesn't have a good life while he been bullied by almost everyone especially one band who exalts themself while only thanks to their leader they can do this. 

As he been suffering from what happened to him at a daily basis he has been only keeping himself to not show who he really is but it hasn't gone for long. 

As it been the one-year anniversary of the end of WWIII and while everyone wanted to celebrate something happened which forced Matt to show who he is and after dealing with it he knows that he been their goal but he could see a message which nobody would understand and he knows he needs to work fast

"Why, should I?"

"Please, I need him back. If you let him come back then you could leave here too." Harper pleaded.

"If you could have him back or information on the Mermaid which would you choose?" She turned and smiled at him.

Harper was shocked. Ariel is dead or was she. "Why must I choose?" He finally answered.

"It's amuses me." She laughed. " So which would you choose?"

"If Ariel is alive and we can get her back for Richie then I would choose her. If she is dead and I can only bring pain to him then I want my love back."

"Interesting, you would give up love for another. So sad. I would never do that. I want what I want." Kara said.

"What do you want?" Harper asked.

"You are the first person to ever ask that." She smile at him. "I want to be free. I want my own body and my own life. I don't want to be tied to this cry baby anymore. They always give me the crybabies."

She walked over to the bed and pulled out a flash drive. Get me everything on this drive and I will give you both things. Ariel and the crybaby." She threw the drive over and he caught it. "Can you do it?"

"I'll try. I'll be back tomorrow with the answer." He walked out the door.

How was she getting these drives. No one ever visited. Staff here were strick. 

When he got back to the little apartment he rented he plugged in the drive to his computer.

There were a lot of things on the list and everything was easy to get but a live dead body. Did that mean he needed to find someone who was brain dead. Could they use the body if the family did not want to?

He then call JJ.

"What's up brother?"

"Kara said she would let Mickey go and that she knows were Ariel is."

"What? Ariel's alive?"

"I don't know, she just said she had information." Harper took a deep breath and explained everything that happened today. Then he explained about the list.

"Shit, do you believe her?"

"Yes I do."

"And you would of chosen Ariel if you could only get one."

"Yes"

"Shit man, you are a better friend then me. I am glad she will give us both. I have a body that will work. Sarah committed suicide a few hours ago. We have her on life support but the Doctor says she is brain dead. Do you think you could bring Kara here. I'll get the rest of the stuff for you. Also don't tell Richie or his brother about any of this till we have good news." JJ said.

"Sure, I think it best to call Tubby and Heny to help get Kara there."

"Good idea. See you in a few days then." 

Harper then called to have the guys meet him here as soon as they could get there.

It had been almost two month that Ariel had been on this little island. She was free to walk around and she did, in her free time. Her voice was still gone. She made a call once to Marcus just to hear him say hello. When he hung up her heart hurt even more so she decided not to do that again.

She was given daily shots and injections. When the Doctor said she was fertile he then artificially implanted what he called super sperm in her. She was now pregnant.

As she walked today she watched the boats sail across the waters. She missed everyone and wondered what they were doing. Marcus went crazy the last time he thought she was dead; would he go through the same thing now.

Would it be better if after she was released to stay far away from him or would he want her back knowing she had a child. She touched her belly. 'Little one I don't know what to do?'

"Ariel, Doctor James would like to see you." Paul said.

She shook her head and walked to him. Then she opened her book and wrote...
[Can you do me a favor and find out if my husband is ok. I won't break my promise I just want to know.]

"Yes, I can do that." Paul smiled.

Ariel made her way to the lab and found Doctor James.

"Goods yous here. Ariels I's needs yous to sits so I's can takes yours blood agains." He said.

Ariel sits and holds out her arm. She was getting use it now. She closed her eyes and waited.

"Goods, yous can goes now." He said.

Ariel wrote something then handed him her book.

[Will I ever have my voice again?]

He read it and sighed. "I's am afraid nots. I's not takes yours voice the seas dids."

[You said you did it]

"I's knows. I's nots. I's just tolds you I's did." 

He watched as a tear ran down her cheek. She would never be able to speak again.
