I have since decided to put off working on this novel. There will be no more updates (for a while).

Arabella Maguire, a minor villain character in the last novel I wrote before I die. It wasn't supposed to be published, but my sister got her hands on my draft I left at our house and published it. 

When I thought I'm finally free from this world. I suddenly woke up in a different place. A room where I saw the portrait of 'Arabella Maguire'.  Yeah, I'm finally free. But, it seems like God took it literally. Free from my world, and now I'm inside the world of my own novel.

How will I be able to change the fate of Arabella Maguire? I don't want to be involved in the main story, so I ran away. But, why did I became the ten years old main villain's kidnapper?  and why did I suddenly got involved with the father of the main villain in the novel? What's with this novel I wrote? Why did the plot change into this?

Will I ever survive?

[The path to achieving immortality is a long one. One has to have a sheer will and enormous talent. I don't know if you will able to reach it but you don't have anything to lose right. So, why not give it a try?]

I stared at my screen as I read those words. Those were the words the Immortal Spirit has said to Tang Xu when he had first met him.

I was reading a novel called [The Immortal Cultivator]. It was a modern day fantasy novel which I have been reading for some time.

It was a typical novel in which a ordinary boy finds a old dusty ring by chance which has a Immortal Spirit in it and embarks on the path of cultivation.

It was like those clich wuxia novel and the only difference would be its setting which was in modern world instead of a cultivation world.

It was not the best novel I had read but I personally liked it very much. I don't know why but I just can't stop reading it. 

But this novel is going to be discontinued by its author. I don't know why but the author has decided to discontinued the novel but I was sad when I heard that it was going to be discontinued as I personally liked the novel very much.

I scrolled through the latest chapter and decided to write a comment.

There were already some dozen comments on it.

[Why you had to drop this novel author?]

[I was waiting to read the new chapter everyday. Sad to know that you are discontinuing it]

[Will you release a sequel or a remake?]

Those were some comments written by the readers. Although it wasn't like that the novel was in top stops in the rankings but it had its own popularity and there were many people who liked to read this novel.

I started writing my own comment. I had been writing a comment for every chapter and this would be my last comment for this novel.

I wrote and deleted it several times as I wanted to write a perfect final comment.

[It was a really good read and I really enjoyed it. I don't know why you have decided to discontinued this novel but you must have your own reasons. I just wanted to say that I love your novel and hope to see you writing more great novels]

I wanted to write more but I couldn't find words to write, so I just decided to post it as it was.

Anyway those were my sincere words. I have reading this novel for 2 years and I have enjoyed every moment of it.

I have found this novel when I was casually browsing through the website and it has really intrigued me.

As I was going to close the website, I noticed that I had received a notification that a 'message has arrived'.

It was really the author. I excitedly started typing my keyboard as it was my first time talking with a author.

—Me : No, no it was your novel that was good. I really enjoyed it.

—Me : You want me to do something for you? Tell me author. If I can do it, I will surely help you.

—GX07 : It isn't something major. I just want you to answer some casual questions for me. It's like a survey.

—Me : Questions! Sure I will answer them.

I noticed that he had sent me a link. As I was about to click on it, another message arrived.

—GX07 : By the way, if your answers passes the minimum requirements, I have a gift for you.

I was confused by that message. Passing! Minimum requirements! Will I also be graded for my answers?

I didn't think much of it as my eyes went on the gift part. I don't know what type of gift the author is talking about but I was looking forward to it.

It's been so long since I had received a gift from someone.

Anyone will like it when they received gifts. He also likes when someone give him a gift.

He clicked on the link and some questions appeared. There are five questions and they have some space to write answers for them. 

Q. What do you think is a good novel?

A.  A good novel is a novel in which the reader can visualize the scenes and the characters. It should have a good plot and there should be interesting storylines to make the readers engrossed.

He didn't know how to write a proper answer for that question and just wrote what he think. He wasn't a author, so he can only write his answer as a reader.

He didn't waste time thinking about it and skipped to the next question.

Q. What do you think is a good main character?

A. A good main character is a character which the reader can relate with. If the reader and the main character didn't relate with each other, then the reader wouldn't like to read the novel.

Again, he wrote what he thought would be the answer and moved to the next question.

Q. Do you think that the MC having multiple girls make sense when the story is in the modern world?

A. No, I didn't think that the MC having multiple girls make sense especially in a modern world. It literally breaks the common sense of the world. I can approve the MC having multiple girls if it is a fantasy world but in a modern world where the society is monogamous, it didn't make sense.

For him, it was a tricky question. At first, when he had started reading novels, he loved novels with the main character having multiple girls but as he started reading more novels, he found out that it didn't make sense for the main character to have multiple girls. Most of the time it only brings trouble for the main character and many authors only decide to go with a harem because they wanted to show the masculine side of the main character but it only helps in ruining the love side of the novel. He had seen many novels getting ruined because of the harem.

Those were only his personal thoughts of the harem. It wasn't like he hates that genre but he only likes it when it makes sense for the main character to have a harem. He didn't like protagonist who were dense and didn't know that the girls around him had already fallen in love with him. 

Well, moving on the next question.

Q. What will you do if you have the chance to enter the novel you like? Will you like to enter it or not?

It was more like a Yes/No question unlike the previous ones and there were two options, Yes or No to choose. Honestly, it was a rather easy question to answer especially for a reader. I mean, which reader didn't want to get transported in a novel of his liking.

I immediately clicked on the Yes option and moved on the next and the last question.

Q. Imagine if you got a chance to know the ending of a novel you liked which was discontinued or never finished. Will you like to know the ending or not? State your reasons?

The last question was a interesting one. I started thinking what will I do if I really found myself in that kind of situation. 

The question reminded me of the [The Immortal Cultivator] which was discontinued today. I wonder if I will be able to know its ending someday.

I decided to write my answer after some time.

A. If I really can read a discontinued novel which I like, then surely I would want to read it as anybody would want to know the ending of a novel they are reading and couldn't read because the novel was discontinued.

I finally wrote all the answers to the questions and clicked on the submit button. After he clicked on the submit button, the site asked for his e-mail to send him the results.

He filled his e-mail address and exited the site.

I wonder whether I will win or not. There's also the gift from the author if I passed the minimum requirements. I wonder what gift he will give me if I really passed.

Well, he didn't mind even if the author didn't give him a gift. He had only agreed to help the author answer the question because his novel was a fun read and it was free, means he was able to read the novel without any cost.

That's why he had decided to help the author, it was not for the gift.

Well, it wouldn't hurt if he really give me a gift. But I will only receive the gift if I passed the minimum requirements after all.

I was thinking naively back then, I didn't know that the Q/A session will change my whole life upside down.

Quintin has been in love with Kaylen for sixteen years, but it takes Kaylen breaking his heart and humiliating him to realize that sometimes it's best to let go. All his life he loved someone he could never have, and it takes healing to realize love can be given in places he never thought he could find it. But just when he finally feels like he can be happy again he never thought that Kaylen would show up. Especially not on their second anniversary of that horrible day, and certainly not asking the same thing.

He never knew how much the happiest words in the world could make someone really hurt. And Quintin wasn't sure he could ever say yes to Will you marry me, ever again.

Okay guys, time to tackle the elephant in the room. What the hell happened to this novel, why am I not updating it almost at all, and generally why have I turned into the sht author I always despised on this novel while somehow maintaining a proper rate on my other novels?
Let me explain everything points by point.
1st - Ending "Road to the Crown"
- This was the first instance that got me lazy with Battlesmut. I simply wanted to focus on the ending novel, so that once it would be over, I would have twice the time to write this one. Sadly, even after finishing the novel, I got so used to the relaxed days where I could actually do anything outside of writing, resulted in the first crack in my mostly spotless record of writing regularly (not fully, mostly...)
2nd - Sudden project falling on top of my head
- Don't misunderstand. This is something that I believe to be able to change my life, but over the last month, I was extremely absorbed with several things that are of utmost importance for me. As such, the time that I could spend writing (not to speak, the willingness to do so) were even smaller
3rd - Caught covid
- While I didn't really suffer from it that much (just some slight fever symptoms), the fact that I contracted it from my parents (who were tested positive) meant that for about the last two weeks (and quite honestly, still) I was insanely worried not about myself, but about my parents. While for some finding something one wants to do in life and actually doing it is a major step in reaching maturity as a person, I still love my parents very much and I can't imagine anything happening to them right now or anytime soon. That's just another reason why I wasn't very productive over the last few weeks.
4th - but by no means, the least important one. Here I will go on a little ramble, so bear with me or jump to the TL:DR at the bottom.
- From a long while, I had a problem with this novel. Partially it could be caused with my focus being diverted to other stories, partially it could be the responsibility of the situation I appeared and new ideas that I started adopting... But the truth is sadly quite obvious.
This novel is slowly nearing its end. This time, contrary to what I did in Road to the Crown novel of mine, I will be able to say that the entire story got perfectly fulfilled. The ending that is slowly (really slowly) approaching, is the one that I foreshadowed ever since the beginning, ever since I started treating this novel seriously. Obviously, it's adopted to my current ideas and all, but generally, this is the ending that this novel was supposed to end with. 
But.
Whenever someone writes like me, then outside of the general outline, they don't really need anything else. You just get the last even that happened, figure out its placement on the timeline, what is it supposed to be its aim, the ultimate goal etc...
And ever since I started wrecking my release, I was plagued with a single problem.
You cannot end the novel with a precise outline.
Not when it was built for so long and using so many deep ideas. You HAVE TO plan it out to give the ending its justice... But doing so, forces you to accept the fact that the novel is about to end. And I wasn't ready to do so for a long while.
For me, battlesmut is that bastardly but still loved child. It's beginning is awful, I always admitted it. It's a novel that allowed me to learn how to write. Although I'm not claiming I climbed that mountain all the way, I'm definitely far further than I was when I began. 
For me, battlesmut turns into this safe area of a huge project that came entirely from my head. With all its groundwork, character building, foreshadowing, I knew that I could always write about and based on something that only the readers of this novel are privy to. With the end of my second novel, it is my last novel where I managed to establish the world I created for it.
But the time where I would write the outline of everything until the end, had to come.
It happened a few days ago. I just sat down, decided to accept the fact that I will soon have to say goodbye to this child of mine... And I did it. I already know how will this novel end, what will happen behind it, what it will imply for the future... To a point I can even predict how some of you will react to the ending I have in store. All that's left for me to do is to sit down and write those last chapters, right?
Yeah, but as if it was that easy. 
Today, I made the first step to give the ending of this novel proper honours. I won't laze around anymore, I won't treat it as the story I can always come back to. I will respectfully bring the end of battlesmut to its fruition, and allow it to become a completed novel in the way I always envisioned it would. With daily releases and surrounded by loving readers. 
At this point, I also need to point out one thing - This novel still has a lot to go through before it will end. When speaking about nearing the finish, I meant it on the global scale, on the scale that the author needs to think in. In terms of the number of chapters... No, I won't give you that :D 
I can at least say, that while it will take a while, this novel will reach it endings properly, in due time and with respect it deserves for turning me from a random cashier in some local shop to a damned author of several novels who bounds his future entirely with writing.
TL:DR - I got emotional over the fact the novel is somewhat nearing its ending.
Thanks to everyone who stuck so far to read this rambling of mine. Thanks for the continuous support of this and other novels of mine, that allowed me to keep living the dream of being a full-time author. I hope that this time, I won't have to cover before myself for breaking my promises, instead properly fulfilling them and allowing this novel the lay the groundwork for the greatest and most insane project I ever could figure out, and that I already somewhat begun.
