When I get to the board to look for a job I could take, I forgot that I can't read the letters in this world at all! The scouter also can't analyze it of course. I still don't know how it even analyzed this worlds language! but for their characters, It didnt.

But their alphabet should be easier to learn than the language itself. Letters and characters could can be read through sounds which means that the scouter would only need to analyze the letters plus the sounds then combine them. Unlike the language which would require so much time.

I guess, I could be said to be lucky enough for the analyzer to recognize the language here. Maybe there's a trope here where another person from my Earth transferred here in the past and influenced their language? Or maybe the opposite? Either way, I already learned the language so I guess it's okay.

For this board, It seems that there is a catch to it. Most of the posters here are all in characters. Maybe they want people who can read so they put it like this. I can see that the adventurer ones doesn't have a lot of words but there are bigger numbers. Which maybe put there maybe more like ads? I could definitely see job ads doing this things.

For the Adventurers to take their quest, they would go and ask the receptionist about the details of the quest which kinda looks that the guild don't really expect that adventurers to know how to read. That's just my thought of course.

I also thought that it's a good idea since the receptionist would know the details of the quest better, the transaction would be more clear and misunderstanding would be lessened. It's a win-win deal!

And for me, I also have no choice but to ask the receptionist... 

It seems that they only hire people that can read which I have to shamefully ask them if they could teach me how.

Even though I'm one of the most introverted person I know. I have to be shameless if I want to stay at this paradise unlike the hell which is the outside.

This business minded guild is driving me nuts! It's not like I can't understand their way of thinking but 5 silver for reading? Its definitely a scam!

"You might think that 5 silver is a bit too pricy for just leaning how to read but, that is actually a fixed price for a full course in which we would teach you to read and write until you learn it or until you give up. There's also the option where you can pay us for 5 bronze per hour of teaching but... I don't really advice people to take this route since it would be more costly in the future. The average people that tried to learn how to read and write took about one year and that will definitely be more costly than just paying the fix price.

I can understand that. 5 silver is definitely not cheap but considering the time it takes for an average people to learn reading then it's actually quite cheap. Like really cheap! The existence of the other option from how it looks like is for people who wants to experience how they teach or maybe for people who can learn fast. Honestly, now that she explaned it, I don't understand if they are even trying to earn in this department. There's no profit at all! Considering how much this guild earns their money the reading course won't even give them a positive.

"You could also pay for the fee later as you are working in the guild! Same for the Adventurer Registration Loan! Honestly since you look passionate about wanting a job in the guild, then for you. There won't be any interest for paying late. Of course, just for the reading course."

Maybe there's some positive for them for people that would know how to read. I think I read in some novels that the way the government see the students and schools is also something akin to what they are doing...

By the way, this is another person than the one I talked too before. I forgot the name of her though.

Luckily enough, the interview doesn't look like an interview at all! The questions she asked are questions that is on the same level as grade school and some theoretical question that any people who attends school can answer. Although it's more on the technical and mathematics side, it's still easy to answer.

Well.... Even though I've said that.. some math question with bigger values will have to make me think more and will take time so I kinda cheated by using my scouter to make things faster.

I can't help it you know! I maybe a scientist but most scientist use calculators now a days you know! The only person I know that could somehow calculate big numbers in their head is my assistant Lin.

It doesn't really matter as long as I can answer right? For me it doesn't.

"You're excellent Mr. Juan! All your answer are perfect and the concept questions are answered really magnificently!"

Airi stared at Nagisa for a good long second and pondered where to start. 

"Well…?" Nagisa asked.

However Airi was not responding at all. She placed one hand over her chin and when a thought suddenly popped into her head she clapped her hands together.

"Ah, I got it!" Airi took out a notepad and began scribbling a couple of weird looking symbols and things. 

Nagisa became impatient and leaned over, but could not read nor understand anything upside down. Therefore he chose to get up and sit next to Airi then leaned in close to her face, casually to look into the textbook.

"Okay done!" Airi turned her head to the right and their lips almost kissed.

"Wh-wh--aat do you think you are doing?!" Airi slapped Nagisa away. 

"That is my line! Why did you do that for? I am just trying to read what you wrote down!" Nagisa complained while covering his left cheek with his hand.

Airi blushed a bit.

"You were too close!" She complained.

"Wait… what do you mean read?" Airi now realized Nagisa's comment since half of it was written in Elvish.

Nagisa leaned in once more and pointed with his finger.

"Yeah… you talk about how humans usually confuse elves with Nature Magic and such here… but it derives from something you call "Lost Magic" like you told me back in the sewer tunnels," Nagisa talked without realizing.

Airi started writing a new couple of sentences.

"Can you read this?" She tested it one more time to make sure. 

Nagisa read them just fine as if it was nothing out of the ordinary. Airi gave him a weird look.

"What?" Nagisa questioned her odd behavior. 

"Do not 'what' me! Since when can you read Elvish?!" 

Still being confused Nagisa took a step back in his seat and laughed slightly.

"Me read Elvish? What kind of a joke is that?" Nagisa thought her accusation was outrageous.

In response, Airi grabbed her pen and pressed it against some of the symbols.

"This is Elvish… and this… and this… do not they appear different to you?" Airi explained and questioned.

After shaking his head and eyes once, Nagisa took a more careful look. Now that he paid attention her writing of certain symbols and letters did in fact appear different. 

"How…" Nagisa turned to Airi. 

"Why are you looking at me for?" Airi replied back.

There was only one thought that would make sense in this situation. Perhaps his Arcane ability allowed him more than just to analyze structures, but also decrypt and read different languages. 

Nagisa asked Airi if this was true, however she shook her head and said it was news to her as well concerning Arcane Magic. Airi ran a few more tests and it checked out to be true. No matter what she wrote, Nagisa could easily decrypt and read it. 

"How about you start learning Elvish then?" Airi suggested, "I could teach you…" she fiddled with her thumbs. 

"Sure that would be great!" Nagisa smiled and it caused a happy reaction and a smile from Airi.

But first things first, Airi decided to explain a bit more about Lost Magic and what she knew of Arcane Magic. Apart from what she mentioned in the sewers about them being prominent demon hunters, the rest of her information was about foresight and analyzing structures. This affirmed Nagisa what he already knew previously about his abilities.

She then moved on to Lost Magic. Like Nagisa managed to read, most people confuse it with Nature Magic or something else. Lost Magic is a form where you use your inner mana pool and combine it with your surroundings, and it allows you to use any element and enchant it if you are skilled. 

High-elves automatically unlocked all elements and enchantments by their high potency for magic, as for regular ones, they could use up to two or three elements. The important thing for them was to practice how to use it and decide on their combat-style. Besides the bow, Airi revealed that she prefered a short sword and a dagger.

Afterwards Airi moved on to teach Nagisa Elvish. There were two kinds, regular and ancient one. She drew up the different alphabets and introduced smaller phrases. They decided to learn the ancient one later as it appeared Nagisa was processing and learning the language at rapid speed. 

A few hours passed and Nagisa could already speak at a basic level of Elvish. 

"I think my Arcane powers allow me also to memorize and store things better in my mind… somehow I cannot seem to forget all this information, it is just… kind of stuck in there? I never realized since I was already blessed with a good memory," Nagisa explained his thoughts.

The more he learned, the more he realized about his Arcane Magic. It was not even just creating medicinal vials, blacksmithing, or combat, it could be applied to learning as well. This made Nagisa genuinely happy now that he had discovered more usages of his Arcane powers, which could be helpful to him in the future. 

The afternoon had passed and since the evening was growing late, Airi closed the book to end their session.

"We stop here for today, let's continue from time to time and slowly teach you both languages," Airi stopped her teaching.

"Really…" Nagisa slightly pouted, he was already really into it and all excited to learn more without realizing the time.

"Come on, let's head on out and meet up with Chisa, okay?" Airi tapped the orb and they exited the library together to head downstairs.

They found Chisa outside and she complained how she had spent an entire hour waiting for them. The two of them apologized and lied about losing themselves in a new book they found that could aid them with their studies. Chisa chose to not ask more, she was not fond of over studying. 

"Let's head back to Nagisa's room! I am famished!" Chisa stretched out her arms and smiled.

"Imagine if you girls could cook for me one day instead…" Nagisa complained slightly. 

"You would love that, would not you?" Chisa replied back.

"Actually… yeah!" Nagisa gritted his teeth.

And they both responded by hitting the back of his head lightly.

"Really…?" Nagisa sighed and scratched his head.

They began heading for the dormitory and Airi tugged at his uniform for some slight attention.

"What?" Nagisa whispered.

"Do not tell Airi about learning Elvish or anyone else! It will be our little secret," Airi whispered back behind Chisa's back.

Nagisa nodded, it was best to not anyone else know about this matter or him getting more familiar with other languages. However Nagisa thought it was tiring that he now had yet another secret to keep.

"Yeap, when I checked, the most recent wisdom was 925. It's likely that it may be a little higher than that. Because after that, wisdom increased a little more."

However, there was a commonality amongst all. It was that, the more you read, wisdom did not increase. In the beginning, if you read 3 books for your wisdom to increase by 1, after, it would take 5, 7, 10 books to raise wisdom by 1.

Soo Hyuk was confused.

"What do you mean? The more you read, it doesn't increase?"

He could not understand.

"Generally, if you read 1 book, your wisdom increases by 1, right?"

 

It did not increase every time. Though, on average, if you read 1 book, it increased by 1. It was very rare when it did not increase.

Stats did not blindly increase. If you read a book that hasn't been read yet, you would receive special experience called stats experience.

In order to increase your stats, you would need to raise that stats experience to its limit. The problem was that the limit to the stats experience was different according to the level of each user.

Of course, if your level was low, the experience needed to raise your stats was small and if it were high, even more experience would be needed.

In other words, in order to increase your stats easily, you would need to read a lot of books but more importantly your level needed to be low.

Ivan walked into the gymnasium. What Ivan saw was truly amazing. There was a climbing wall that randomly had spikes pierce areas where climbers would most likely climb, and had gusts of wind that were probably used to push climbers off.

Ivan had to think of the reason these functions were added, as there was no one else in the room other then him and the security guards. This surprised Ivan, because who would waste money on a gym this complex and having no one using it.

There were even more bazaar things other than the climbing wall. There were normal weights, but when Ivan tried to lift it up, it got heavier and heavier, until Ivan had to drop it. A treadmill that was slippery to run on. 

Ivan didn't try anything else after the treadmill. He just left the gymnasium and walked through the hallway, until he found another door. Ivan could actually read the sign on the door, it said 'library for the ignorant'. Ivan didn't know what it meant by ignorant, so he walked through the door.

What Ivan found first was a pitch black room with a alter in the middle. Ivan cautiously moved forward. When Ivan got close enough he found a book on alter. The book's title was 'the book for the ignorant'.

Ivan furiously opened the book, feeling insulted. When Ivan flipped to the first page he saw a few sentences that somehow made him feel even more insulted.'If you are reading this you are illiterate in the magic language and can't read any magic book or use magic techniques reliably'.

After a while, Ivan calmed down and read the rest of the first page and tried to read the second page, but couldn't. Most of the page is just telling the reader how magic can be used. Like in healing, alchemy, combat, etc. But on the bottom of the page is a incantation that will help Ivan learn how to read. Without seeing any disadvantages in saying it, Ivan read it out loud.

What surprised Ivan was that he wasn't saying any actual words. He was talking gibberish. No full words that make sense, or common pattern that would help you learn the alphabet of this language.

Ivan turned to the next page. What used to be  random symbols is now English. The 2nd page explained how the incantation Ivan just read affected him. Apparently Ivan know can read all languages no matter what, be it Spanish or magical. It also states that things that can manipulate magic are the only ones who can read incantation, and that all living things have magic in them.

Ivan read on through the book, and found incantations for simple spells. Like making a small flame in his hand, being able to use air molecules to lift things, and being able to transform a rock into a knife, which Ivan put away in his pocket for safe keeping.

There were many more incantations or what the book calls 'spells', but Ivan wanted to explore more. So Ivan took the book with him to read at night. Ivan left the 'library' and kept going down the hall.

Ivan saw many types of rooms. From a kitchen with weird looking food, to a bigger library with more books about spells and the history of a magical world far away from earth. Ivan took a couple books from the library to read later, and some cookies from the kitchen to eat because he was hungry right now.

Ivan walked through the hall for a while, seeing many interesting rooms. Ivan kept walking until he found a familiar hole in the wall. It was the weird bedroom Ivan was in after being kidnapped by Sterling and the others. 

Ivan suspiciously walked down the hall even more, and found the room he first found, the gymnasium. Ivan finally understood that he was in a infinite loop. 

The voice of Greg sounded off behind Ivan, "looks like you finally found out you were in a infinite hallway, the reason we kidnapped you, and why you are so special.
