Lax was just a student similar to any other student, and if there was one word that could describe him, it would be 'average.' Lax didn't mind this, he was fine with how his life was mundane and peaceful, having fun with friends, going to school, and going with the flow of life.

However, this changed when one day... He died.

This is my first novel so please be more tolerating on me as I might make mistakes and I would really appreciate it if you point them out for me. I am only writing this novel for the fun and experience.

Dack stood over the corpse of the beast, he was victorious. He stared at the weapon in it's hands, it was tinged with the grey blood of it. It shone in the fluorescent light. Dack grimaced. He felt strong, so strong, and that creature had died in his hands.

But the existence of this creature, showed that the world had changed. Profoundly so, it would never be the same. And the tools of this change, the tools that seperated Dack from the rest of the world, were in his hand.

The sword of his father, the book that he had left and of course the patience that had accompanied Dack for years. Patience that had seemed like such a curse. Patience that had forced him to be a mundane worker.

Dack raised his sword to the sky, right now felt like one of those moments that they describe in legends. Where the hero finally realizes his goal. Where he can grab it in his hand. Dack smiled.

Dack didn't know what he wanted. He knew that things had changed. He would have to get to the city to really see those changes. Would everyone that he knew before still be there? Would his boss? Would his co-workers?

He didn't really care. But the everyday people of the world, the barista at his favorite coffee shop, the people he travelled next to on the bus. Where would they be now? Within Dack's head, the system that had come to find it home sat there and stared out. Dack needed it now but he didn't know how to access it's power.

He tried all sorts of things. Saying system or status repeatedly didn't seem to work. Nothing seemed to work.

Dack looked outside his eyes bleary from all the effort. It was night and darker than any night Dack had ever seen. The lights of the world that had previously wound around and around had come to a stop. He heard sounds come from outside, however they were far away distant sounds, like thunder in a mild thunderstorm.

There were more creatures out there. Creatures with longer arms, and minds that were even more frightening. Dack let out the air that had been pent up in his lungs and reached for the book that was also his fathers.

"The Art of Waiting" was no book Dack had ever seen. As he read and read, a clear picture formed of what the book was. As if the book itself had transported itself into his mind. The book was about a 'martial arts' technique, and at that Dack didn't know if it was elaborate fiction, or mind boggiling truth.

As Dack read he found himself on the chair in which he always read, as if habit had forced him to the chair. The book started describing the origins of the technique.

It described how the world was composed out of a multitude of spirits and how they swirled around man and mountain as they worked. How one spirit, in particular, had taken refuge in a mountain and unlike its freeform youth it waited. See in this world, spirits were a fickle creature who never wanted to stay in one place ever, they made love constantly and never could standstill.

Dack chuckled and thought of all the humans he met who could be described the same way. The mountain spirit however was different from all the other spirits. Not because it was unique, or because it had some special quality, it wasn't Rudolph the Red-Nosed, no, what was different and the book went into great detail on this, the spirit had been enlightened. But the book never went deeper than the word enlightened and at this Dack couldn't understand.

When this spirit was enlightened, it created this technique. After the story, the book went into long detail about how exactly practice the technique. It was like meditation that wasn't meditation, it required a tremendous amount of mental power, and went into detail about not just how the user should breathe but also how the user should feel.

Dack finished the book. After the description of the technique nothing else remained, in fact plenty of the book itself was blank as if it was awaiting writing inside of it. Dack looked at those pages, they looked back at him. Inviting him to join the technique. The book didn't even describe the effects of the technique, it wasn't escribed any magical properties, nothing.

Dack felt drawn to it, like he had been tethered to this simple technique. Like the art of waiting was his dad's gift to him. His final gift. The sword Dack had already found useful.

The technique itself didn't escribe any particular position, sitting down wasn't necessary nor was any particular strangeness. It did require precise breath and even more precise, what Dack could only describe as 'thoughts'.

Dack looked back over the breath organization and memorized it. So he began, one breath in, one breath out. His brain tingled at that. Two breaths in quick succession in, two breaths out. One breath to the sky and forcefully exhaled, one breath to the earth, exhaled slow and methodically.

Dack's mind did not wander and it did not falter. All he focused on was the breaths. He repeated them, each time his mind seemed to grow faster as he went through a cycle, for hours it went. Until in the middle of his last breath, it appeared.

A lot had changed in Dack's system and he smiled as he looked at it. His strength, agility and will had gone up from killing the creature. His patience also had gone up and Dack knew why as he looked at the lower end of his screen.

The Art of Waiting had awakened something in Dack that wasn't there previously, he felt it in his mind. It's hard to describe the change that had happened. Almost as if the thought process was simply different, as if all the workings and turnings of his brain had been shifted.

He had been changed and now he was a different man than before this madness.

After, Dack looked at the talent points section of his system. He tried to touch it and another screen appeared that only read:

Dack laughed at the silliness of the corporate takeover of the galactic system, it was silly the amount of strange thing in it. However, his laughter faded. The sounds that were previously far away, Dack could now hear coming closer. So many sounds and that could only mean one thing, so many creatures.

"Holy sh*t the Earth has been invaded by all these creatures! Wtf why are there dragons. Why can he use magic!? Why is he cultivating?! Why can he now control the very fabric of the universe. And wtf is this system" -The Internet During the Fall


The world is coming to an end. All sorts of technology and gods and demons and all manner of other things are invading. All humans on Earth are given the System which catergorizes all of their actions much like a videogame. 12 individuals who each started with the strongest stat in one catergory get a special system and a special quest. "Fight! Kill! And take the systems of the other challengers." This is their story in... The System War!

After hearing that person, Garth immediately pissed in his pants. This devil's outfit itself was terrifying to behold. And he introduced himself as Garth's nightmare? He was supposed to be in a state where he should be in a deep sleep. But heaven knows how, he was brought in this place. 

"What...does....that.... mean?" , Garth asked in fear. 

"It means your judgement day!" ,That black hood devil said and removed his hook.

Garth looked at the face of that devil and was shocked. Because the face of that devil was looking similar to his own. But the only difference is, this 'devil' Garth's face was red. Even his eyes were red. There were two small horns at the top corners of his forehead. That figure was the devil version of Garth himself.

"You...!" , Garth said in disbelief, "You...are.... my...alter... ego!"

"Alter ego?" , Devil Garth smirked, "Your time with your truth has ended. You have failed to realise the truth. It's time for you to change your company! Since alter ego failed to make you realise the truth with his methods, it's time for you to taste my methods!"

Garth was stunned. He realised something. That priest's medicine pill didn't work. In fact, it worsened the situation. Garth want to go back and kill that bastard Priest who messed up with his Life. 

Garth asked, "what are you going to do?"

"What am I going to do?" , Devil Garth smiled evilly, "You will see for yourself. You are going to experience something you never experienced in your life before.

Garth had a bad feeling. In fact, after looking at his surrounding he knew that something bad is going to happen. This atmosphere, this location, everything gave him a bad feeling.

"please don't do anything to me!" , Garth begged literally, "I beg you please don't do anything to me!"

" Do you think I am really that easy to deal with?" , Devil Garth smiled and said, "Don't forget something I'm not your true I'm your worst nightmare!"

Garth was jolted. The eerie feeling he had has gone from bad to worse.The set up and location has already given him the bad feeling. But the words from the devil Garth has made it even worse. Even before anything started he knew that things are going to be very nasty. He had a feeling that the torture from the devil Garth is going to be even much worse than the torture of the alter ego.

The alter ego slowly walked towards the Garth. Each step taken by the Devil Garth Raised the sound of his own heartbeat. He didn't know how things had gone this far. All he did was a simple execution of a sinner. This wasn't the first time he did something like this. But he never felt bad about it. But today things have started to totally weird. He doesn't understand how things have gone this far.

The Devil Garth walked and stood in front of the Garth. He slowly raised his red hand towards Garth's face. The long nails and the reddish hand of the Devil Garth has made Garth shudder in fear and anxiety. He was totally out of it.

When Garth was looking in fear, the Devil Garth pulled Garth's eyes out! Garth screamed in pain. He was now half blind. Blood was gushing out of his eye sockets. Looking at its own situation he had only one thought in his mind. Only one word could describe his current situation. 

Hell!

That's right. Hell! He was in hell. That's all he knows how to Describe the situation right now. He couldn't find any other word to describe his experience right now. He wanted to die. But he knew that even his own death wasn't in his own control. He's own fate was under the control of the devil who is standing right in front of him. The very same devil who is looking at him, smiling and at the same time showing his evil face. 

While Garth was thinking all this in despair, The Devil Garth came forward once again. He was holding a knife which was in the molten State. The molten state was as red as a magma. It was shining with a hellfire. Looking at this molten state knife Garth has a bad feeling in his heart. 

While Garth was looking with this one eye, that Devil Garth came forward and started to peel his skin. Garth screamed in horrible voice. But there was no one who could hear his horrible screams  and take at least a pity on him. After all they were in the middle of a hellish desert. There was no one around them.

As Garth was in his worst nightmare, the devil Garth brought a huge amount of magma from who knew where and poured it all on Garth!

Garth whose skin was peeled very badly was already in a nightmare. When burning magma was poured on him, the word nightmare also paled in front of the experience he was having right now.

Then suddenly there were about sixty people appeared right in front of him all of the sudden. Garth couldn't be anymore familiar with these faces. All this mess started because of these people. The people who appeared in front of him were Sitaram and others. Garth felt as if his despair was about to reach another level.

All of them asked in unison, "Why?"

"You killed someone. And you framed us for your sins."

"Feril is an evil person. He deserves to die!" , Garth shouted. 

"Then what about us?" , They asked, "Do we deserve to die?"

Garth gritted his teeth. He said, "In the path of peace, if one had to sacrifice innocents, then it is fine. The God will take good care of you in the afterlife."

"We didn't come here for your God's care."

"We don't care about the God."

"We came here for our future."

"And why should we seek the care from the Gods who we never knew of?"

"You are a sinner! The sinner who is using the name God to shift your crimes on others!"

DEPRESSION IS DIFFERENT FROM SADNESS OR GRIEF

The death of a loved one, loss of a job or the ending of a relationship are difficult experiences for a person to endure. It is normal for feelings of sadness or grief to develop in response to such situations. Those experiencing loss often might describe themselves as being "depressed."

But being sad is not the same as having depression. The grieving process is natural and unique to each individual and shares some of the same features of depression. Both grief and depression may involve intense sadness and withdrawal from usual activities. They are also different in important ways:

In grief, painful feelings come in waves, often intermixed with positive memories of the deceased. In major depression, mood and/or interest (pleasure) are decreased for most of two weeks.

Depression is among the most treatable of mental disorders. Between 80 percent and 90 percent of people with depression eventually respond well to treatment. Almost all patients gain some relief from their symptoms.

Before a diagnosis or treatment, a health professional should conduct a thorough diagnostic evaluation, including an interview and possibly a physical examination. In some cases, a blood test might be done to make sure the depression is not due to a medical condition like a thyroid problem. The evaluation is to identify specific symptoms, medical and family history, cultural factors and environmental factors to arrive at a diagnosis and plan a course of action.

Medication: Brain chemistry may contribute to an individual's depression and may factor into their treatment. Psychotherapy may involve only the individual, but it can include others. For example, family or couples therapy can help address issues within these close relationships. Group therapy involves people with similar illnesses.

Depending on the severity of the depression, treatment can take a few weeks or much longer. In many cases, significant improvement can be made in 10 to 15 sessions.

Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) is a medical treatment most commonly used for patients with severe major depression or bipolar disorder who have not responded to other treatments. It involves a brief electrical stimulation of the brain while the patient is under anesthesia. A patient typically receives ECT two to three times a week for a total of six to 12 treatments. ECT has been used since the 1940s, and many years of research have led to major improvements. POSITIVE REVIEW :

Lots of poor reviews for this series, you'll notice they haven't read much of it. There's a reason for that, the story starts slower and quickly picks up.
The MC is reincarnated to just before the game God's Domain is released, after being betrayed and losing everything. He has tons of prior knowledge to back him up, and 10 years of experience playing the game. He's super strong, but I don't think OP is the right way to describe it.
The MC isn't 'Over Powered', how on earth could you have 10 years of experience playing a game, be the leader of a huge guild, and dedicate your life to learning the game and all it's secrets inside and out and not be strong? The MC is strong because of his hard work, insane effort, and countless failures. The MC gets tons of great and rare drops, but the author very clearly explains it all. The MC does hidden and unique quests, things he knows about from his 10 years of experience, and gets the crazy rewards from them. The MC kills monsters much stronger than himself, and gets the first kill, which nets him great gear. Every advantage the MC has stems from his hard work, effort, and the countless hours he spent researching the game in his past life. Nothing he gets is unearned or random.
I promise you, if you keep reading, all the points any negative review I've read have brought up will be resolved. You don't like how quiet and reserved he is at the beginning? Keep reading, that changes in a mighty way. I cannot stress enough how awesome the series is, and how much I recommend it. Keep in mind, though, that in the beginning the MC hasn't done much, and he comes from 10 years in the future, so he knows a LOT and appears super powerful, things don't always go as planned though. As the story goes on, things get further from what the MC remembers, so no need to worry about it being boring.
TLDR; I can't recommend the story enough, just keep reading if you run into things you don't like they'll clear themselves up quickly. The author has a clear and well thought out road for the story and because of that everything fits together like an intricate puzzle. The only problem I have with the series is how many hours of sleep I've lost because I couldn't stop reading!

1. MC keeps getting rare drops left and right despite the very small chance of 10000 to 1 of dropping them.
2. Zhao Yueru
3. The author has something against women. Every other chapter there will be some random girls who want to sell their bodies to the MC or some other guys so they can be carried. This is a freaking game ffs! Also literally every woman in this novel wants to warm the MC's bed.
4. Too many lucky encounters. Every single one of them could make the MC OP to be famous for 10 years.
5. Despite being way too OP, he still almost died to a lower level assassin with much much worse gears, and only managed to win due to yet another heaven defying item of his.
6. Too many random ass skills. Every single one of them is "omg I can't believe some fool is selling this super extremely rare skill!1!".
7. Zhao Yueru.
8. Everybody has no life and plays VR 24/7 including top CEOs, real assassins, etc. The game runs twice as fast as real life time, which means people with actual jobs will be severely disadvantaged due to only having their sleep time as play time (16 hours in game time compared to 48 hours a day for dedicated players) yet for some reason the top players are always some big names in real life.
 9. The MC has no goal. He doesn't want to get too much attention to stay safe, yet everything he does is the opposite.
10. Heaven defying mask that is literally a cheat.
11. A sword with the ability to make a shadow clone with 50% of the original's power. Like, what? Oh and he can switch place with his clone, which means he will never be in real danger. 12. Did I mention this ridiculous character surnamed Zhao?

The warm sun of spring was slowly increasing the temperature of the world. All sorts of construction projects started up again. The originally quiet Chasu City Hospital became really noisy due to construction of its new emergency center and pediatrics center, which also really annoyed the patients.
In any hospital, pain would forever be the main topic. Only the obstetrics department would be relatively happier, with the more muscular doctors here having more chances at being happy than in other departments. That was because the obstetrics department would see the birth of human future and hope. Apart from the obstetrics department, the majority of departments would always have a heavy atmosphere.
In the morning, Zhang Fan brought his rotation paperwork over to the rheumatology department. "Doctor Zhang, welcome! Have a seat! I heard that you're originally from orthopedic surgery?" Director Wu Wanghong spoke in a really polite way to Zhang Fan.
"When I was recruited to the hospital, I was recruited as an orthopedic surgeon." Zhang Fan felt rather awkward. He was still only a mere resident doctor. It wasn't like he was originally from any department yet! Still, this was also evidence that Zhang Fan was becoming famous in Chasu City Hospital. Even Director Wu, who paid very little attention to gossip, knew about Zhang Fan and was treating him as an equal.

Even a surgery wouldn't solve the problem! To give an analogy, surgery for a rheumatic disease was merely the equivalent of pouring a cup of cold water into a pot of boiling water.
"For the first three days, just follow Doctor Hu Jun and familiarize yourself with our department's work and personnel. Let's go now, it's time for the daily morning meeting."
Thus began Zhang Fan's work in the rheumatology department. When looking at medical reports in this department, they really would seem quite grand. The medical reports contained all sorts of numbers, English words—even though the report was written in Chinese, all sorts of factors, and so on. However, after looking through dozens of medical reports, Zhang Fan found that all the results were quite similar. No matter how detailed the medical report or how wonderful the analysis of the patient's condition, almost all of the treatments were the same: non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs to treat pain, hormones for anti-inflammation, and immunosuppressive medication! Patients who were in more severe condition would also have an orthopedic surgeon invited for diagnosis!
"This is Doctor Zhang. I believe that everyone should be familiar with him already. He's a surgeon. I won't be introducing everyone to him, as you can all slowly get acquainted with each other during work! Let's go to work," Director Wu said simply as he left to perform outpatient services.

After the patient checkups were over, next would be giving medical advice for the day, modifying medical reports, dealing with laboratory examination paperwork, discharge paperwork, hospitalization paperwork, and so on. This was the daily work in an internal medicine department. Zhang Fan finished his first day in the rheumatology department, encountering nothing but the patients' moans of pain and the family members' expressions of sadness.
Zhang Fan felt rather awkward in this department. How could he describe it? In surgical departments, even though the patient was sometimes in grave danger, at least the patient's family members still usually had a sliver of hope that as long as the surgery was successful, the patient could recover. At most, you would only be a scholar. The foundations were really important in surgery, but clinical experience was even more important. A surgeon would need a large number of patients to practice on in order to improve. If you didn't work at a good hospital that could provide a platform for you, then a surgeon would be nothing more than an appendicitis surgeon despite working in surgery for their whole life!
Zhang Fan had chosen surgery because he could practice surgeries endlessly in his System. His System didn't really require much from him apart that he perform a tremendously high number of surgeries in real life in order to grind experience. That was because there would be no end to ever grinding surgical experience. There would be a tremendous difference between a surgeon with 1,000 surgeries' worth of experience and a surgeon with only 100 surgeries' worth of experience.
That was why Zhang Fan never had any free time at all. He used every single bit of free time he had to endlessly practice surgeries in his System. Was this boring? comes the darkness of our old lives, lives without him and full of self. As bits of this dark-
ness are forced away through our increasing knowledge of him, the Son blazes forth, in ever 
greater intensity, into our everyday lives. We become partners with him as we become more 
and more aware of his power in us.
I believe the Bible calls us to this progression of experienced power when it says, 
"Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you" (Ephesians 5:14, NIV). 
We see in this verse a wonderful promise of seeing Jesus Christ work in and through our 
lives and circumstances. When Christ shines on the life of the believer, things happen!
Our focus here is on spiritual power. There are many kinds of power: secular, po-
litical, physical, informational, and even personal. However spiritual power, God's power 
imparted to us by Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit, trumps all other power whether it be 
earthly power or other supernatural power. 
More and More
The Son-powered life is Christ, the power of God, living in and through us. However, know-
ing this fact and experiencing the reality of that relationship are two different things. The 
Son-powered life begins at the moment of spiritual birth and develops as we cultivate ourrelationship with Christ. We learn to trust Christ daily to live his life in and through us.
As I've spent time studying God's Word, I have found that many Scripture verses re-
late to one another even though they may be from different places in the Bible (this is one of 
the key principles of the Sonburst diagrams). One verse may tell us one thing and another 
verse amplifies that thought, principle, or picture of who God is or what he desires for our 
lives. When we actually put these verses together, we can see how God has woven his mes-
sage throughout the Bible. Here are several verses that illustrate this principle, particularly 
as it relates to experiencing Jesus Christ as our power.
In the Old Testament we read:
Lord … may those who love you rise like the sun in all its power!
 —Judges 5:31
"But for you who fear my name, the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing 
in his wings. And you will go free." 
 —Malachi 4:2
And then Paul tells us in the New Testament:
I relied only on the power of the Holy Spirit. I did this so you would trust not in 
human wisdom but in the power of God.
 —1 Corinthians 2:4–5
But to those called by God to salvation … Christ is the power of God and the 
wisdom of God.
 —1 Corinthians 1:24
In these verses, we see a demonstration of God's power being brought to those that 
love him. As an added bonus, we also experience healing and freedom and salvation and 
wisdom. This is Son Power actively working in us and through us!
Paul tells us that this power, from God's unlimited resources, begins internally. A 
work must be done on the inside of us in order for this power to be properly operational. 
Our inner person must be strengthened by the Holy Spirit, so Christ can more fully possess 
our hearts and lives as we trust in him to do so. In this way, the roots of our spirit beings 
can grow deeply into the soil of God's love. As this happens, God can bring to perfection in 
us, the "fullness and power that comes from God." 
When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creatorof everything in heaven and on earth. I pray that from his glorious, unlimit-
ed resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then 
Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will 
grow down into God's love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to 
understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how 
deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to 
understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and 
power that comes from God.

Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your 
hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus 
Christ.

As we grow in our relationship with Christ Jesus we experience not only more and 
more of him, but more and more of his love and power and grace in our daily lives.
Less and Less
As we experience more and more of Jesus in our lives, we also can start to happily experi-
ence less and less of self. In the book of John we read these words spoken by John the Bap-
tist, "He must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less" (John 3:30). This 
process can take place without us noticing, but eventually we should see evidence of this 
occurring in our lives as we cultivate our relationship with Christ. This is literally the power 
of Christ beginning to permeate our entire life.
The object of our faith is critical. If we trust in the power of self to live the Christian 
life, we will fail. Self is always ultimately powerless. Self relies on the old "try harder self-ef-
fort" model and is intent on meeting the demands of the law through works. We try and 
try to do and be what God wants, but unfortunately, the flesh is incapable of satisfying the 
perfect, exacting demands of the law. However, when Christ is the object of our faith, we 
trust him to live his life in us and we accept his power to achieve it. As we learn to become 
less and less, Jesus Christ becomes more and more. 
Paul wrote to the Colossians, "For you died to this life, and your real life is hid-
den with Christ in God" (Colossians 3:3). As our life becomes more and more "hidden in 
Christ," he takes increasing control. This happens while we progressively focus our attention 
on Jesus and his desires for us. The true ultimate goal for each one of us is to have a life com-
pletely hidden in Christ.Just as the sun rises daily to full strength, our desire as Christians is for the Son to rise in his 
full strength during our daily lives. This can only be accomplished by understanding and 
applying the truths of Scripture to our lives. Only God can command this light to shine out 
of our heart as we learn how to die to the three amigos of Me, Myself, and I. Only then can 
the life of Christ rise in us, bringing forth his power and beauty.
This is in harmony with the spiritual truth that he must become more and more, and 
I must become less and less.
Let's begin with the relationship verse: 
Lord, … may those who love you rise like the sun in all its power!

ship word! We love God … and he loves us as well. And it is because of his love that we have 
the promise that we can rise in power. God also uses his love as a vehicle of change in the 
life of a believer. He loves us, and when we accept his love, it creates in us a desire to knowwho is doing the loving. Wow, the Creator of the universe loves me! This love is what mo-
tivates us to do what God wants us to do. It is cultivated by sowing into our hearts the idea 
that God loves us, and allowing his love to grow into our lives, the new life which Christ has 
given us.
What we learn about our relationship with God leads us to a new revelation about 
what he is and how we are to interact with him:
"But for you who fear my name, the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing 
in his wings. And you will go free."
 —Malachi 4:2
One key principle we learn from this verse is that because of our relationship with 
God, we fear him. But what does it mean to fear God? One of the ways to describe it is to 
say that we become in complete awe of our heavenly Father. We respect and revere who God 
is and his authority over all of creation. 
As we embrace God's authority over us, we also experience freedom. How can this be? 
It is precisely because of Christ's power rising more into our everyday lives, that we are free. 
We embrace Christ in us and God's authority over us, and we experience the freedom that 
God so graciously gives us. Free from the past, free from the law, free to experience all that 
God has for us, free to make a difference in the world. 
This leads us to reflection:
Prepare your minds for action and exercise self-control. Put all your hope in 
the gracious salvation that will come to you when Jesus Christ is revealed to the 
world.
 —1 Peter 1:13
Prepare your mind for action and exercise self-control … think about those words for 
a moment! What would happen in your life if you really applied those words to your life? 
Because of your freedom in Christ, you are not only free, but also full of the power of the 
Holy Spirit. Look at the verbs in this verse: prepare, exercise, hope, come, revealed. As you 
fix your mind on the gracious salvation of Jesus Christ you will be empowered to go out and 
do the work God has for you.
And this leads us directly to redemption:Because of that experience, we have even greater confidence in the message pro-
claimed by the prophets. You must pay close attention to what they wrote, for 
their words are like a lamp shining in a dark place—until the Day dawns, and 
Christ the Morning Star [Jesus] shines in your hearts.
 —2 Peter 1:19
This is one of my favorite passages in the Bible because it is filled with potential for 
both this world and the world to come. We pay attention to the Word of God because it tells 
us how to achieve our ultimate goal. We live in a darkened world. When we pay attention to 
the Word of God it provides light in a world that desperately needs it. The sun scatters the 
darkness. 
As Christ the Morning Star rises in our hearts, he scatters the darkness revealing 
what needs to be corrected in our lives. In addition, he imparts his life and empowers us to 
overcome wrongful desires and pursue his goodness. The Morning Star symbolizes hope 
and guidance. The morning star is the brightest star in the sky at dawn. I like to think that 
as Christ, the Morning Star, rises in our hearts, he brings healing to our inner person, 
strengthening us, enlightening us, showing us where we need to conform more with his 
will, and showing us just what it is he wants us to do. Such revelations bring joy and peace 
to us as we bring our lives in conformance with his will. The Son rises in our hearts and 
continues to empower us to not only grow in our relationship with God but to accomplish 
his will.
This brings us full circle to relationship where we in-
crease our love for God and desire to have him rise in our lives 
like the sun, fully powerful and fully effective.
It is important that our hope rests on the gift of grace 
that is brought to us by the revelation of Christ. He will illu-
mine things for us both in this world and the world to come as 
we pay attention to the Son Power at work in us.
