It's an assassin's job to kill and many in the field have a policy; all witnesses must be terminated. Purga, whose real name only the dead are aware of, follows said policy religiously. That's until she is caught during work by a young man who is happy to know he'll be put to death and actively encourages it. To him, being a witness was a blessing, to Purga it was a curse.

Marlía, Abigail and Verónica are three friends who love to write horror stories. But: Were you always friends? What is the inspiration to write? At the end of a stressful interview, they went to the house they shared and there they began to think about why they were writing. The real reason. The inspiration for all of her stories went back to her teenage years. When they were only 15 years old and still did not know each other. They were called "nuisances", disposable people for Modern Society, which could disappear and no one would remember them. For that reason they were sent to a special school, a reformatory that few spoke of and no one entered of their own free will. There they would have to survive the tedious days of school and the long nights of survival. The school consists of three years of education. The protagonists will have to survive all the surprises that this new school has in store for them to finally be able to return to the Society.

This is just a collection of short stories, mainly action and horror themed, that I will update whenever I feel like writing

ok sorry to spring this on y'all right now but I want to try to write in a different style, a more horror/gruesome type of book so I'm going to start a new book think of it as a little project to see if it works, the book will probably be called "the diary of horror of the apocalypse" it's about how a normal person wakes up in the apocalypse, having to fend off people and monsters of horror I'll start writing it right now (by the time this is up, I'll be writing the first chapter.)

Side note: This is my first book so I'll need help with the story details and editing.

I know it's pretty scummy of me to not even try reviewing some content to figure out how to write this blog but I'm dealing with newbies to writing like Nimu here. Even if Nimu DID request this, I'm going to keep this simple and easy to understand.

Why would I do that? Well, I'm pretty sure that even if I bring up tropes like the 'Uncanny Valley', no one will actually understand what I'm talking about and would only nod their heads like chickens because I said some big words or something like that...

That's why I'm choosing to keep this real. Now, let's start off with: How do does horror be 'scary'?

In movies, showing images that either poke at our emotions of unease or disgust is one way to go, or just throw a bunch of jump scares and call it a horror movie... Director's choice. Similarly, you are also the 'director' of any 'horror story' you choose to write.

Most horror writers have the wrong assumption when they think about writing 'horror'. They become trapped in unease themselves because 'fear' stops them from writing. Well, if you really DO feel that way, then just channel that into your horror story.

And no, I'm not playing with ya.

There's a reason horror's start off in a simple premise with easy-to-understand people, after all.

Have you never experienced a horrifying event or nightmare before? Fine, I'll give you an example.

There was a time when I was a kid that I suddenly started looking for my older brother who went out of the room that afternoon. As a kid, darkness made me feel uneasy, so I didn't like the feeling of going into the kitchen in the other room which was pitch-black at the time. And that's when it happened!

The older brother I was looking for jumped out of the darkness and scared the life out of me...

Now, from that short memory. What have we found that made this memory so impressionable?

The answer is that there was a 'sudden set-up' of unease before the jump scare, making it scary.

If my brother had jumped in front of me at any other time, I would only be mildly surprised. However, the transition between 'set-up' and 'payoff' made it more worthwhile. This is what you must remember.

Remember, before setting up a scary scene in a horror story, you yourself must first evaluate how much 'set-up' you are willing to make for the end payoff and if that payoff is even worth it.

The reason I got scared by my brother was because of the 'suddenness' of the event. If I had time to properly analyse the situation and realise that my brother was playing a prank, the effect of him jumping out of the darkness wouldn't surprise me.

Likewise, if there was fast or literally no set-up and the payoff was that an brain-like alien actually existed in my kitchen. I would be scared, I would be struck dumb because my suspension of disbelief would be broken. I wouldn't even know how to internalise that event if it actually happened. The only thing I would do is stare at the thing blankly.

Blankness is not fear, it's just your brain not being able to comprehend what you're seeing.

If there is less set-up to big events, the payoff would be low. This is the same for ten chapters of set-up just to reveal someone doing a prank. You yourself must balance 'set-up' with the intended 'payoff'.

However, that's not to say scary story's need surprising moments where something or someone jumps out from the dark. Even that show called 'Goosebumps' knew the best way to scare someone is to manipulate the emotions of a reader.

When something good is happening but there is subtly a small scene of watching the main character through the window, the reader's heart is gripped tightly. If THEY don't want anything to happen to your relatable and kind character, then they will feel unease even if your character is clueless.

Then when the payoff happens, the reader will be assaulted with a sense of grief and sympathy.

Horror story's are just like that. They aren't meant to scare the reader through flashing images or jump scares but cause them to feel deeply. Though this is also a reason horrors are rarely read by people who are looking for something lighthearted and bright.

You must know this target audience and prepare your story well to become a good horror. If mixed with mystery, then you must also make sure to keep what I said in my 'Mystery Genre Analysis' in mind as everything there is also essential in this blend.

There are plenty of ways to make horrors not need mysteries by blending it with tragedy. However, it isn't something you can write with a bright heart free of ill-will towards others. After all, you must understand what makes people 'uneasy and disgusted' with something whenever you write something of this genre. As it is needed to bring out the best experience for those reading your work.

Some think Horror and Tragedy are two sides of the same coin. However, there is a reason these two are split up into separate genres. Tragedies might invoke sympathy in those who read it, but Horror strike the readers with true fears even if they are irrational.

Ghost stories make us fear the Supernatural, Stories about technology progressing beyond humans can control makes us fear Science Fiction, and even story about a mystical world which only curse its inhabitants with grief make us fear Fantasy.

We are rational creatures after all. We take each step carefully and are always uneasy about the unpredictable future, that is our mundane form of horror. We fear, and therefore we feel alive.

This is a story I worked on ages ago that has been refined and edited by adding foreshadowing to events while also simplifying the power system better than before. This story can be considered a prequel to An Adventure Beyond Greatness as it takes place years prior to the events of that story.

Short Synopsis:
After retiring from the battlefield, my life became empty and lifeless. The regrets of my past haunt me in my sleep. Then a change occurred, a King from another world summoned me to fight for his kingdom, but I died even before I could give him my answer. Now, after a fake God allowed me to reincarnate (albeit imperfectly) with my memories intact, into a world filled with magic and swords.

Long Synopsis:
This is about a flawed protagonist who only knew to rely on others and not socialise who gets a second chance to change himself in order to live the life he aimed for in his past life. The narrator isn’t exactly trustworthy since it is purely in his bias perspective while other perspectives given by others fill in the blanks that he either leaves out or twists to suit the situation.

The story itself can be considered a parody of Isekai’s classic tropes which are given a sense of reality as time goes by. As there exists no ‘Demon Lord’, there is also no black and white, only characters opinions and counter-opinions throughout the story.

"FINALLY, we get to watch a movie together," Deive said then stretched both arms at the back of the sofa inside the living room. It was as if he wanted to put his hand on Callea's shoulder.

She had been busy these past few days because she was back to working on her story again. And because she finished a crucial scene, she was free to watch a movie again. She needed to relax a bit get some ideas that would help her out. Deive discovered some horror movies for her in Netflix and he had been bugging her to try it out.

Deive picked up The Devil's Candy about a heavy-metal-loving artist who channels some bad energy when he moves to a Texas farmhouse with his family. It so happens that a man killed his family inside that house because the devil commanded him. And now he roams around the town to kill children which serve as candy to his devil lord.

Callea's eyes were concentrated on the television. While her other hand was busy in writing ideas flowing in her head.

"No! No! No! The candyman will take the child. Someone should stop him," Deive suddenly blurted out. "How could we help the poor child?"

"Let's just see what will happen next," she said and watched as the man covers the child with a blanket then carried it inside the room of a farmhouse where his devil lord was.

"A-Aren't you scared?" he asked her in awe. "You are so cool about this film."

"Deive, there is nothing we can do about the kid. Don't be so emotional about it. It is just fiction." Then she kept on writing and smiled. "Damn! This man is brutal. He used the saw to cut off the body while the kid is still alive." Her blood was pumping with each exciting scene. Every time she saw blood flows, her hands' movement becomes faster.

There was a scene where the main character's child was kidnapped and the villain put duct tape all over her. There was Satanic hymn at the background. Then the drum beats faster in tune with the beat of her heart. The child's acting was so good that see the horror in her beautiful eyes, knowing she would die any minute and she couldn't escape death. But how would she die this time? She was excitedly waiting if her father could still save her when the TV suddenly went black.

She stopped writing, her hand let go of the ballpen and it rolled on the floor. The idea stopped flowing in her brain. "Huh! Why did it stop? Is there something wrong with the TV." When she looked at Deive's direction, he was grinning at her while holding the remote control. "You turned it off?"

"Do you know why guys like loves to watch horror with their girlfriends? We want our girlfriend to hug us when they are scared."

"Okay," she answered nonchalantly then nodded. "I still don't get why you turned off the TV."

He sighed then caressed his own face with his palm in frustration. "You don't pay attention to me. You are not even scared."

"Why should I be scared. I am a horror writer," answered Callea in a matter-of-fact tone.

His shoulder fell. "So, my effort is wasted."

She looked at him in wonder. It means that he wants her to hug him when she is scared. And now he was sulking like a kid. That was silly.

"Try harder next time." If he wants a hug and kiss from her, scaring her won't work. She was not an ordinary woman. She was not easily scared. At least where horror movies or haunted houses are concerned.

"Okay." He cupped her then kissed her. She got that euphoric feeling as if she was floating on air. She never got that kind of high even during horror stories' climax. His kiss was aggressive as if he wanted to devour her. It was not shy nor careful. He wanted her to open up to him, to let him in. So, she opened her lips so that he could deepen the kiss. Deive has perfected the art of kissing and she felt his hand on her nape. Her internal organs were changing places.

She was scared to have a private moment with him. He might open up about Keiran's offer and he would just leave. Now that he kissed her again; does it mean that their deal was still on? Would he like to marry her still?

She was even startled when the television suddenly opened. He stopped kissing her and she was gasping for air. What the hell happen? Why did he stop kissing her?

"You can watch the TV now," he declared with a smug smile on his lips. Then he used his hands as a pillow to his head.

"What the hell just happened now?" she asked with a growl.

"I hate being ignored. And that is your punishment for ignoring me. I thought you would stop working so you could spend time with me. I am jealous of the candyman, really. Go on. You could go back to writing. I already got my fill of you so I would be fine if you will ignore me for fifteen minutes. I am not demanding too much of your attention. I am fine."

Her hand was trembling when he picked up her ballpen while the rest of her body was singing. No, she couldn't write anymore. Her ideas were frozen. She couldn't understand a thing about the show. Even her heart was beating painfully but for a different reason. She was longing for Deive's kiss.

"Are you scared?" Deive asked in worry and held her hand. "You are cold."

"I am just fine. You are right. I just want to relax. No more working," she said then lay her head on his shoulder and they watched quietly aside from a little comment here and there. He just smiled then played with her hair as they watched.

She was happy to press her body against his during those scary scenes. So, that's how normal women act when watching a horror movie. And she felt like a normal girl. She was not scared but she was feeling giddy because the way that Deive put a protective arm around her, ready to protect her as the candyman terrorize some more.

It was not bad to be a normal woman sometimes.

An arranged marriage to a perfect bride.

To keep him in line, playboy Deive Hontiveros needs to marry Callea Lopez so he could start his own business. He thought he got lucky when he sees how beautiful and caring Callea is.

She lives in a haunted mansion though and he got plagued by a mysterious ghost of a woman and her cat from hell.

He must protect his bride at all cost. 

But what if Callea is one with the darkness?

The next half went in a bizzare. Our break time was over-so was my staring time... 
Maths Sir came and was taking the class. He started chatting about regression and we were experiencing depression. But his way of teaching was awesome. He was taking live examples from our class.. 

Starting from the naughtiest Mike going through Allen, Gray and Lastly my dear crush. 
While explaining him he started telling, "He is the ideal student of our class. He is the most reliable candidate of our semester and the probability of making mistakes is almost nil.He doesn't even show off.But completes his work diligently. He and Sonnet both are my ideal students.Except Sonnet is a quiet type. "

While Sir was telling these I could see his calm expression . His face towards the writing board. 
Nevertheless, I was happy mentioning me with him. That's what makes it an even interesting topic to me than one taught in my school days. 
The class got over after a long discussion. Next was the computer class. I was trying my best to solve the coding problems. After that Sir picked up Sky to write the code. Him writing the code on board was inevitable. He is superb in solving problems. Next came my turn. My handwriting was terrible. Writing on the green board after a long time ripped me of my prestige while writing codes. My small height was another problem to it. I needed to lift my heels and apply pressure on my toes while writing the same. As soon as I had finished writing the code I came back to my place. 
He started jeering telling me to explain! 

Just imagine explaining a problem code while I am having a stage-phobia and he clearly knows that. But that didn't deter my resolve. I came back . The class was over. 

The horror picture was just about to begin! 
ThE Chemistry Class..... 
My life was simple without those ions, ligands, metals, elements, valency, oxidation states and lot more. This is a subject of exceptions.. I can't understand who remembers those exceptions when there are lot. And why to learn the incomplete or the wrong I still don't get it. There are various explanations regarding it. But please... 
Those are excuses to make people mad. Well it's my point of view. I don't know about others! 
The horror show continued with the so called exceptions.. . 

I was feeling to bang my head against the wall. 
Even Sky was busy chatting not paying attention to that class. 

He was telling, "Why to study chemistry when nothing is fixed? I guess relationship's are confusing and complex. So the name appeals to real life! "

Thank God the class got over and my soul came back! 
While going out I bade goodbye to everyone and went out.

When Hastin woke up that morning, it was still dark with crows cawing outside his window. He opened the window to try to shoo the birds away. But instead of flying away, they came into his room and smashed everything around.
He blew up after seeing how these birds spoiled his room. His laptop, mobile, books, everything lay down on the floor scattered. He took the hockey stick and tried to hit the birds to make them go away.
But before he could even swing once, they all flew away through the window which they came in from.
"Why? What is wrong with these birds? Stupid bastards" Hastin shouted through the window.
One of the crows noticed his head outside the window and came rushing towards him. When he noticed that crow, he closed the window in a hurry. The crow then hit the glass frame and fell down.
'Cawww' It shouted once and glided down the window.
Out of curiosity, he went near the window to check on that bird. But before he could even open it, the crow soared up high in the air and flew away.
'What a horrible morning? Why is the sky still dark when it is already ten am? I definitely like this atmosphere! It would have been a lovely morning if only I was not disturbed by those crazy birds.' He shook his head and marched towards the bathroom to freshen up.
Hastin prepared a toast and an omelet for breakfast. He sat in his breakfast room and finished his toast while flipping channels on the TV. When he was almost done, he realized he forgot to bring his phone.
All because of those stupid birds, his room was now in a mess. He doesn't even know where his phone was right now in that messy room! What the hell was wrong with those idiotic birds! He had never seen such a huge number of birds around his home before.
He cursed at those unlucky birds in his heart and threw the plate into the kitchen sink with frustration. He went back to his room to search for his mobile. But he couldn't find it anywhere even after searching for more than half an hour.
He kicked the floor in frustration. He once again cursed at his bad luck and then at that black evil bird. He roamed around the mansion for a few minutes to search for his spare phone.
When he went inside the library, by chance he came across his first book which he could never publish. He wondered if he could ever write stories that could attract lots of attention. After wondering about that, he completely forgot about finding his spare phone. Instead, he opened the book which was now almost covered in dust.
He closed the book after a few minutes and blew on the book cover. The dust entered his eyes and made them burn. He remembered the childhood days that only had him and his father, the only other human being he had close contact with.
Hastin was a loner from his childhood. His mother passed away after giving birth to him. His father died in a horrible accident when he was fifteen years old.
All they left him was this mansion, a few million in bank accounts, hundred acres of land which almost looked like his own private dark forest behind his backyard.
From childhood, he had this weird hobby to like anything dark and he would collect things which resemble darkness. He was home-schooled from when he was a kid. His father, Jackson taught him at home.
Jackson could be considered as a genius who was an expert in investments. Whatever he invested brought him excellent money back and he was quite famous among the aristocrats.
All the knowledge about the outside world Hastin accumulated was from books and his father's tales. He never felt odd being not a part of any society. He liked loneliness as much as he loved darkness.
Currently, he wrote his horror novels on a few famous websites. Even though he had written more than fifty books until now, none of them were famous yet. He found the situation to be both funny and irritating.
Out of all the books, each book hardly received a thousand to two thousand views. Then it would completely disappear or be pushed to the extreme last page where no one bothered to scroll down.
He did not have high hope left for his book to become famous anymore. But he had nothing else to do other than writing. Writing kept him busy and he always felt proud of his work. The only thing Hastin did was writing novels, other than cleaning this huge mansion and ordering daily necessities from online websites.
No one had visited him or even knows who lives in this secluded mansion; except those delivery guys who drop the packages near the gate once in a while. The gate was almost a mile away from his mansion. They would inform him once the delivery is done through the intercom.
Hastin would then ride his new bike to the gate which was also ordered online. He got it delivered just last month. Once in a while, he would go trekking to the dark thick forest behind his mansion to get a more spooky feeling.
The whole of his property was covered with a thick boundary wall which also had a long electric fence running on top of it. Other than birds who can fly, not even an animal could enter his place.
After his father passed away until now, he never met any other human being. He isolated himself so much that sometimes he even forgot that people exist in the outside world.
He sat in front of his laptop and found himself in a dilemma. He tried hard to imagine a plot for his next horror novel. Even after thinking for half a day, he couldn't come up with anything.
He found himself to be out of ideas to write his next horror novel. Nothing! Empty! His mind was totally blank! He shut the laptop with frustration and looked around. Seeing his room to be in a total mess made him even more irritated. so he decided to clean the room first.
While he was arranging the scattered books in order, Hastin found his mobile just next to his pillow. He was sure that when he searched his room previously, it was definitely not there.
But miraculously now it appeared on his bed and that too next to the pillow. He felt chillness run over his veins. He suddenly felt excited as he picked up the phone.
The feeling which he sensed doubled when he saw the phone screen lit up with a message. It displayed, 'Running out of ideas for your book? I can help you! Just click install…'.
He thought how did the phone find out that I was running out of ideas for my novel? When he was wondering about that a second message appeared on the screen which said,
'Do not worry I won't harm you, but….' Click next to see further.
He hesitatingly clicked next.
'....I will help you achieve several million views in the next few months'
'Do click install to try my ideas. You will not regret it, I promise...'
INSTALL
Still, he was not sure if it was a good idea. He did not have the courage to click install.
A message then popped up once again on his phone screen within a few seconds.
'This is absolutely free. You take ideas for free for the first month as a trial period. Then…'
'Oh come on click install now! It won't cost you anything. I know for sure that you will love my ideas…'
'Ok fine! Last offer! I cannot go any further than this. You get six months free trial and I guarantee a million view in one day'
He could not lie but he was definitely tempted for this offer. His fingers clicked on install as if it got a mind of its own.
The app got downloaded before he could even blink. Woah! That was fast! The app then asked him to agree to the terms and conditions. But it did warn him before he could accept,
'Beware: Terms and conditions are subject to change at any time. Users will be notified of the changes but once you accept 'Agree' you cannot uninstall the app for the next six months'.
He clicked on Agree without reading the terms and conditions properly. The app took him into a page where it asked him to select a genre. It displayed the options under the menu,
