For years, a teenage Kaine Parker has hold undealt feelings: anger, hatred, and envy. Those are rooted to bullying, his father Ben Parker, and younger cousin Peter Parker. He cannot accept the harsh reality, forgive and seek forgiveness, and move on from the past. He is trapped with his darkness...until a field trip to Oscorp and a bite from a flawed, aggressive superspider change the teenager's life. His darkness is now alive and begins to influence Kaine's mind. He must face the darkness within and do what he needs to do, or he will succumb to its influence. Now, it's only a matter of time before it's too late...

Have you ever experienced "changes" throughout your life; well if you did, then you will probably relate to the Webtoon Urban Animal by Justin Jordan/John Amor. 


Author 

Once again, I do have some more concrete info on the authors of the webtoon. Justin has been writing comics for over ten years, which include the Luther Strode series, Spread death of love, and the Family trade for image comics specifically while John has lent his artwork for Judas: Last Days for Idw, One week in the library for image comics, etc. The inspiration for Urban animals, in particular, was Ben 10, Filipino folklore, Beast boy, animal man, John Carpenter's The Thing, Megaman, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Archie comics. 

Summary 

Meet Joe Gomez: an average teenager with close friends, loving parents, and even a band. However, like all teenagers growing up has caused him to go through certain...changes only instead of squeaky voices and acne Joe instead becomes a literal animal. For you see my dear friends, it's revealed that Joe is secretly a force of nature given form: a chimera. An immortal being that reincarnates throughout its infinite lifespan with the ability to turn into Earth's many animals. And as Joe is thrust upon a world beyond his imagining, he must learn to embrace it if he has any hope to protect what he loves. 

Characters 

Joe Gomez: Joe is our admirable hero. While he has shown to be awkward and easily flustered, his new life as a chimera has made girls the least of his worries. He is completely willing to put his life on the line for his friends and family, even if it does mean a night butt naked and imminent death. And while he doesn't have much of a grasp on his powers, he is a very quick study as he has so far adapted to his new role as protector while trying to answer the question. He is your average Joe, or simply the latest reincarnation in the chopping block.

Corkinadale: A chimera that has lived far longer than most what he lacks in strength he makes up for in wisdom. While he does have his purposes for Joe right now, he just wants the kid to survive as he gives him the lowdown on living the chimera life. But as with any man who's lived long in a career where many die young, he has many skeletons. 

Overview/Good stuff

Urban animal has a very gritty comic book art style which can make the many transformations and transitions pop as it's always stylized. The creators researched the anatomy of many animals to create some downright awesome creations (Ex: rhino-horse hybrid, T-Rex, and Frog like monstrosities). Of course, the color scheme used to display these creatures is also on point. The transformations cause the fights to have a lot of momentum, dynamics, and brutality. The Pacing is also an incredibly strong point. Every chapter gives you a great sense of fulfillment. Typical melodrama between Joe and his cast could last chapters is handled pretty fast. Every character makes the most of their respective screen time, so even if they don't have much to offer, that doesn't mean they have nothing to say. The creators do an awesome job of making them all feel unique and likable, which is important for later arcs in the plot. The mystical world of chimeras is one I can't get enough of. It is a great way of establishing an engaging urban fantasy with amazing body horror. So far, the various seasons have given us parasites that turn men into monsters, humans who have devoured the power of chimeras for themselves and secret societies that gave created much of the folklore you see now. Effectively we have a world that feels concrete but also unlimited.
An example of that is in the Chimeras tiers of power. From weakest to strongest, we have changelings that can only transform into one animal, swarms that can become one of many, skin dancers that can turn into the same genus of animal. Beastmasters can transform into multiple animals at once for more power, and real chimera can manipulate nature itself like plants. 

If that weren't enough for you, then maybe you'll enjoy an interaction as old as time itself: Author and Reader. I've never seen creators interact this much with an audience before; they leave consistent comments to answer any questions and drum up even more drama from time to time. As someone who is also a resident author himself, this was a very welcome surprise.


Epilogue 

Urban animal is a great story that will probably be even greater with time. I can't wait to see what happens next, but in the meantime, I wonder what form my spotlight will take next as well.

Just a simple person is trying to shine a little light on the beautiful world of webtoon. With a splash of sarcasm, narration, and spitfire along the way.  And who knows I might have other segments just for the hell of it.

After the training, it will take at least three days to start again.
Although there is a price to pay, the deal would be very cost-effective as Danzo guaranteed his safety from the Uchiha clan.
As long as the comics are in place, he can start selling them immediately, but this may take another two or three days.
In two days, Akabane hadn't been out of Konoha.
On the one hand, he has to accompany his family and go out to help Danzo with his Root from time to time.
On the other hand, from the encounter to the final success of the bridge construction, it is a long series of coherent plots. To keep the heat, he needs to rush to the system as soon as possible and update these completely in the fastest time.
So...
On the third day, Akabane had just got up, and his staff, Yuma Kurama, was already waiting underneath.
"Akabane-san, Yamano-san has waiting for you at the store."

"Well, you help me print so many within three days, plus if you guys can help me selling this around, I can give you 20-30% of the profit."
Akabane said.
"So generous of you Akabane-san, I'll inform this to the others."
Yamano gladly agreed.
Their main business is an arsenal, and caravans are often traveling around the country.
Some of these caravans came from the country of fire, and some came from the neighboring countries that had good relations with the country of fire.

Inuzuka clan is a family of ninja known for their use of ninken as a fighting companion and are easily identified by the distinctive red fang markings on their cheeks.
Comics?
He knows nothing about it.
Ishi glanced at the comic store, looking hesitant.
Just as Akabane had thought, he had never bought it, only read the contents in the hands of a friend.
Now that he happened to be passing by, Akabane couldn't help but struggle inside.
"Uh, is the third volume is on sale today?"
His eyes were bright, and after a few glances, he saw that the cover was different from before.
"Woah, new comic!"
"Yes, I came here right after I printed it."
Akabane replied smoothly.
Ishi was taking his dog for a stroll as he happened to passed the store and saw an old classmate.
It was ridiculous to see what Naruto had done to the Konoha. What a brat!
"The Land of Waves...Speaking of which, I haven't been out of Konoha yet."
Ishi dropped 100 Ryo and then sat down in front of the stall, reading the comics while observing the posters drawn by Akabane.
"You don't want to be anywhere outside the village."
Akabane sighed. His peers have a strong desire to go outside the village, but all he wants is to come back as soon as possible.
"Dangerous? I don't think so. I think I might…"
Just as he said that, he saw a shadow of a sword flying over from the comics.
What!!?
The huge sword, just looking at the drawing, makes him sick.
He sucked deeply after taking a sigh of relief. He swallowed back half of the words he hadn't finished before, followed by the sight of Kakashi's hand on the forehead guard-
"What's under his forehead guard?"
Ishi couldn't help but ask.
"Just turn to the next page. You will see it yourself."
Akabane completed a poster, and he continued to the next one.
Originally he can just stop there, but since there was his old classmate came by, he decided to give one away.
As he was about to make a stroke, suddenly—
"What!? Sharingan!?"
Ishi yelled. His face was full of horror.
Sharingan is the distinctive trait of the Uchiha clan. Since the dawn of Konoha, they have kept intermarriage within the clan, unwilling to let the bloodline mix with other clans, but now Akabane was told that Sharingan was used by an outside.
He was surprised but more worried.
Even if it's just a comic, knowing how the Uchiha behaves, I'm afraid that this will cause big news.
"Don't mind about it, calm down."
Akabane glanced at him, then prepared to continue to put pen to paper to paint.
But Ishi stood up and said solemnly: "Akaba, this is your last chance, before everyone buys it, you must change this story ASAP!"

Here I am, standing in front of a huge, fancy apartment building, luggages in a hand, my phone and the grey card in the other. Mr. Min told me that the apartment was only one on the last floor, so I used my card to get there by elevator. And when I rang the bell, Yoongi's dad opened the door with a big smile and let me inside.

I got into a huge living room and there sat Yoongi, waching TV. When he finally sensed my presence, he quickly glanced over at me and returned his gaze to the screen in front of him. He didn't say a word to me. Now that I think about it, he never once talked in front of me, even yesterday when all our conversation was about him. Is he mute or something? He could at least say hi! This is not a matter of trust or personality, he's just being a jerk!

Mr. Min showed me around the place and which room I'll be sleeping in for the next I don't know how many months of my life. It could be years for all I know.

_ And that's it. I think you know enough about this house now. Oh, and before I forget, here are your keys to the apartment's door.
_ Thank you very much, Mr. Min.
_ Anytime Tae! Well, I've got to go now, buisness is calling.
_ Bye! I won't hold you here anymore, I took alot of your time already.

When he left, I put all my stuff in their place. I really liked my room. It was really spacious and fancy yet comfortable. But now, I still have to talk to someone. Keeping everything to myself seems almost impossible for me, althought the old man told me to never tell anyone that I live in the same house as Yoongi so we don't cause any rumors. I know someone I could trust thought. 

I walked to the living room only to see Yoongi who was sitting on the couch the same way from I left him earlier. Trying not to face palm, I said:

_ Um... I'm going to my friend's house the day, I won't be back until nighttime.

_ Yeah, yeah...

_ Bye then...

As I left, I realised that it was the first time I ever heard him talking. As expected, he had a really deep and soulful voice, and even though he only said the same word twice nonchalantly, there was still something... Kind and sweet behind it. I may have felt it only for a split second, but I'm almost sure it was there.

When I arrived to the dorm where Jimin was, I spilled the tea about literally everything (sorry Mr. Min) that happened today. After I finished venting, I looked at Jimin's face and unfortunately, it was glowing with excitement.

_ Omg omg bitchhh you're so lucky!!! I can't believe my bestie is living with his future husband!!

_ Hey!! Relax, I would never date him! I already told you he's a big jerk! besides, I might be gay, but I barely know anything about him, he is probably as straight as a pole!

_ And so is a spaghetti until it gets wet. I will keep shipping you guys and I won't give up!

_ Hey stob it! I mean, he IS good looking but-

_ See, I told you! You never know what could happen next.

_ At least let me finish my sentence. I was saying that he might be good looking, but his personality is the complete opposite! Looks aren't everything...

After this tiring conversation, we closed the subject and didn't mention Yoongi's name for the rest of the day. Instead, we talked about the most random things in the world, ate, played video games, ate, studied, and ate. It was already late when Jimin finally allowed me to go home.

I quietly entered the apartment so I don't bother Yoongi if he was sleeping. As expect, the living room was empty, no one in sight. Looks like the gloomy boy is in his room. I kinda felt relieved because I didn't need to have a one sided awkward conversation with him again. But I still feared he might leave his room, so I immediately rushed to mine. As I got in bed, I told myself that I should explain to Yoongi everything about my school next morning on breakfast, so I would be done with it sooner than later.

A few hours later, I got out of bed earlier than usual to prepare breakfast for both of us. I needed an excuse to keep him in the same room with me for more than just a few seconds so we could talk properly. I finally finished preparing breakfast tiredly when a scruffy haired, sleepy Yoongi entered the kitchen. For a moment, I doubted he was even awake, because it felt like he was sleepwalking, so I spoke first.

_ Uh, hey there. I prepared some breakfast today since I woke up earlier than usual and had nothing to do. Would you like to join me?

_ ... Thanks. 

After he took a few seconds to answer me, he finally did... With a single word. Well at least it's something. As he flopped on a chair facing mine, I was internally laughing about how he wasn't a morning person at all. It was obvious by the way he walked, looked and responded just now. Despite that, I still had to carry the conversation.

_ So... I wanted to talk to you about your new school, it's ideal if I do so since you don't know anything about it yet.

_ ... Okay, said Yoongi as he was putting some strawberry jam (probably Jimin's) on a toast.

_ Well, my school is pretty normal. First thing though, we have a uniform. I believe you already have it, don't you?

_ ... Yeah.

_ Good. About the schedule, school starts at 8am and ends at 3pm. Of course, we have recess since we need to have a break from time to time. In class, you just need to do everything the teacher asks you to do and stay calm then you'll be fine. As long as you do that and pass all your classes,  no one will bother you.

_ ... Okay.

_ That's most of it. I don't remember anything else important you need to know for now, but if I do, I'll make sure to notify you. And if you've got any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

_ ... Okay.

Then there was that annoying and awkward silence again. I'm quite a slow eater (is that even a thing) so Yoongi, who was the complete opposite, got off the table first and got back to his room. when I finished myself a few minutes later, I headed straight to the living room to watch some TV since I don't have anything useful to do in my life.

On the table in front of the TV, I saw a bunch of comic books lying there. My love for comic books suddenly emerged to the surface, and I had a hard time suppressing my squeals. I rushed towards them, grabbed one, sat on the couch and looked at the cover. I almost screamed when I realised it was a horror comic. These are my passion since the start of middle school. I always gladly spent my allowance on them. I used to spend hours and hours locked in my room and plunged in a world full of thrill and horror, and I regret absolutely nothing.

Still smiling, I opened the book and started reading. After around 20 minutes, I heard footsteps coming towards me. Not bothering to look away from the page I was reading, I ignored everything else around me. I have my priorities set. Comic books are way more important than anything else in the world. At least, this is what I thought, until the least thing that expected to happen actually happened.

_ You read horror comics too?

When I heard that voice, I jumped from my seat. Wow, it speaks! It was the first time I ever heard Yoongi say a full sentence that was as long as that. And his voice, which was usually monotone and expressionless, sounded way more human and even had a bit of excitement in it too. Trying to act as normal as possible after the shock I head, I replied to him.

_ Yeah of course. I mean, I've been reading these comics for the past 6 years and this one is one of my favorites.

As soon as I finished my sentence, he walked towards me again and and sat beside me on the couch. Then he looked into my eyes as if I were a criminal he was interrogating, then asked:

_ Why do you like that one?

_ W-well, um, aside for the fact the plot was stupefying and the end was amazingly unpredictable, the art was as awesome too. I could stare at each page for hours looking at the details and never get bored.

Yoongi's eyes are now glowing while he stared at me, but suddenly, he looked away, as if he finally realised what he was doing. Then he got up, assembled all the other comics between his arms, said a small and quiet "enjoy" and disappeared into his cave. Unconsciously, I started smiling like a goof. Maybe he isn't that much of a jerk as I thought he was and maybe, just maybe, I'll enjoy my stay here too.

What will you do when an important man suddenly comes to you and asks you for an almost impossible favor concerning his stone faced son ?

 "No fun at all." Ace grumbled and then turned towards Zain. "Boss, she fainted."
 
Zain looked at disheveled Susanna without an ounce of pity. This woman had schemed a lot behind his back and till date every word of Sasha kept ringing in his head.
 
"I will give you tonight, Ace. I want answers from her tomorrow at any cost. If she is ready to speak, call me." Zain spoke coldly.
 
"Yes, Boss."
 
"What about the other one?" Zain questioned. He asked about his lawyer who had worked with Susanna behind his back and made things difficult for Rizelle.
 
She would have been out of prison in a few days based on Jason Pereira's ability. But his lawyer and Susanna had conspired and used his resources behind his back to make things difficult for her.
 
He will make both of them pay.
 
"Umm. Boss. I am sorry." Ace lowered his head and apologized.
 
Zain furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. "What do you mean?"
 
"Well, I-I have gone a bit overboard with him. I think he is already dead." Ace answered guiltily. His boss had only asked him to torture, but who would have thought that man was such a sissy. He died of a heart attack.
 
Zain walked towards Ace and raised his hands slowly.
 
As soon as he raised his hands, Ace flinched, but the next moment he felt a soft tap on his shoulder. He looked at Zain in horror.
 
Zain lips curled up, "You did well. That scum didn't deserve to live a single day after what all he had done so far."
 
Ace looked at Zain in horror. He had never seen this soft side of Zain. What had happened to his boss? What about his reputation if the word goes out?
 
"Boss, you have gone soft." Ace muttered in a daze.
 
Zain regained his iceberg face. "Get back to work. I need her to speak." After giving the last command, he turned and left the base.
 
 
Ace sighed. He looked at the other tools and at Susanna. "Well, let's level up the game baby girl!"
 
After boarding his car, Zain once again picked out his phone from his pocket and caressed the wallpaper.
 
"I will never let you dirty your hands."

"Who hell are these people?" Rizi slammed his desk and stood up while taking a last glance at CCTV footage.
 
Rizi, Zack and Abby were going through the CCTV footage from where Susanna got abducted. There were around 50 people wearing mask and black cars.
 
There was no number plate or any other information they could drive out of the footage.
 
"We don't know. Not able to track them. As if they have vanished into a thin air after this lane." Abby spoke while pointing to the specific lane in the cctv footage.
 
"May she had offended someone she wasn't supposed to." Zack spoke calmly.
 
Rizi closed her eyes.
 
Her mind wandered towards Zain Bennetti.
 
But why he will do that?
 
Anyway, why was she even thinking about him?
 
Or is someone helping Susanna to escape? This whole thing can be a ploy.
 
But the way they had dragged her, it doesn't look like a help. They were not saving her. Instead, looks like someone was thirsty for blood.
 
Whosoever captured her, she wishes they can send her straight to the hell. The only thing she regretted was she could not return the same torture and witness the agony filled cries of Susanna.

He had also revealed the past doings of Caroline Cruz, and what all schemes she played to get married to him.
 
The most shocking news he revealed was his love for Ara Cruz, their past, how she was adopted, his regrets, his greediness and his public apology to Rizelle. He admitted his hatred towards her because she was Andrew D'Souza's daughter.
 
He had requested her to come back and gave him a chance to correct his mistake as she was the only last thing associated with Ara left in this world.
 
He had also revealed that Ara Cruz had transferred all of her shares of Cruz Corporation to Rizelle D'Souza making her highest shareholder of the company.
 
The one hour long press conference created a lot of noise on the social media platforms. Lots of revelation and scandals of Cruz Family and D'Souza family broke the internet.
 
All old articles were dug out and netizen were heavily scolding and cursing Susanna and Caroline.
 
"Pheww! Holy mother of god!! What the heck was that?" Abby asked while turning towards Rizi, who was looking at the screen and shocked.
 
Rizi never expected her Uncle to make this shocking revelation. She never expected her uncle's side of a story to be this much emotional.
 
He did everything for her mother.
 
He wanted to destroy her father because of her mother. Now his hatred made sense.
 
As Rizi is already aware of the other part of the story, she had placed all the pieces together.
 
Although Dino Cruz is not aware of how Caroline, Susanna and her own father had tortured her mother, Rizi understood the whole ploy.
 
Andrew and Caroline had played everyone. She was now damn sure Susanna is Andrew's daughter.
 
Rizi's mind drifted towards the memories of her childhood.
 
No wonder her uncle always wanted to create problems for her father.

Rizi felt more disgusted thinking about her father. She hated that she shared the same blood as Susanna and Andrew.
 
"What are you going to do?" Abby questioned again.
 
"I d-don't know yet."
 
"Zi, leave all these. Do not think much." Zack signaled Abby to shut her mouth and spoke while trying to divert Rizi's mind. He knew the things of past are really draining her emotionally.
 
"Let's discuss the important thing. What do you want to do with this data?" Zack questioned and connected the USB which displays 30% of the data copied from Bennetti Network during the Annual Celebration.
 
"This is not a heavy blow to them. They want to work on their subsidiaries companies as well. Let's start their project and start digging more." Rizi spoke in distress. Her mind was in a mess now.
 
Earlier she was hell bent on her revenge with Zain and she vowed to destroy him. But right now, the events that have unfolded. The past which she came across. Her uncle's revelation. Why did he reveal all these now? What was his purpose?
 
Her mind drifted towards the briefcase and her father's evil deeds. She needed to find it. Why her mother took that much precaution in hiding that?
 
She left her study and walked towards her room to check up on Leo. Her much needed comfort zone.
 
Leo was preparing for one more gaming competition with Nia. As soon as the door opened, Leo quickly exited the chat and game. He opened the browser and started searching for some random stuff.
 
His behavior didn't miss Rizi's sharp eyes. She walked towards Leo and placed a light kiss on his temple, "How is my baby feeling?"
 
"I am feeling good, Mom. Just getting bored." Leo answered while searching for more comics to read further.
 
Rizi smiled mischievously at his antics, "Ah, let me help with some good comics." Before Leo could say anything, she immediately took away his iPad and started searching through some random comics.
 
Leo gulped nervously.
 
Rizi observed his behavior from the corner of her eyes and deliberately opened the setting in the browser to check the history.
 
Leo's eyes widened seeing her mother was trying to check the history. He had not cleared the history yet.
 
Rizi clicked on the history, but everything was cleared. Only the few tabs of comics which Leo recently searched displayed.
 
Leo sighed in relief.
 
Rizi raised his eyes towards Leo suspiciously.
 
"Mama, I am hungry." Leo spoke sheepishly while rubbing his stomach.
 
"I will bring something for you to eat." Rizi immediately stood up and walked towards the door.
 
Before exiting, she turned around and smiled mischievously at Leo, "My baby is smart for his age."
 
Leo was left dumbfounded at his mother's word. He wanted to inform her but not now otherwise she will not allow him to take part in tonight's gaming competition considering his recuperation.
 
He looked at his phone, which vibrated a while back. A small smile formed on his face reading the message.
 
Uncle Zack: [Thank me later champ.]

All three men had their eyes glued on Zain's laptop screen.
It turned black and then lit up again.

After a few minutes, a 'ding' sound came.
The screen was split into two sections.

One section displaying advertisement of viagra with laughing emoticons and the other section displaying two words in bold.

[Hey. there!]
Below those words, there was a small signature.
'Dark Web Masters'.

"What the f**k!" Assistant Han blurted out.
Francesco and Zain glanced at each other.

[LOL]
Another line appeared on the screen.

The Assistant Han was shocked to see that the Hacker not only hacked his Big Boss's laptop but was hearing them right now.

After a couple of minutes, Francesco's asked in a serious voice. "Why did you attack us again?"

No response.

"We already paid you ransom. It was agreed you will not breach us again. What do you want?" Francesco asked another question.

[Fun. :D]
quickly a response appeared on the screen.

The Office sank into an eerie silence.
What the hell is happening!

After couple of seconds, screen lit up again.
[See you soon]
another response appeared.

"What do you mean?" Francesco asked instantly.

In the next second, split-screen converted to a single screen, the chat window was closed from the hacker's end.

The only thing playing was a weird advertisement.

"Your system is hacked!"

The kiss was rough and forced at first.

Rizi's resolved became weak. 

She had once loved this man with all her being, all her heart and all her soul. 

Before she even understands anything, her hands clutched his shirt and tears rolled down her cheeks.

Zain felt her warm tears, and he could not control his own. His own tears fell down his cheek. Rizi felt his tears, and a sob escaped her mouth.

Zain tightened hold on her waist and deepened the kisses. He felt home!

They both poured every emotion in that kiss!

As I watch the teenagers around me wasting their life away, I cannot help but wonder why has the world become this? Why did the girls go from wearing modest and beautiful attire to straight up nudity, its not a movement its more showing off our 10-day Sixpack bodies.
 I hate that even guys have expectations for girls around them now, these expectations come from what they see in music videos, and movies– Girls around me say. But aren't these expectations what we girls give them? We let them get these thoughts.
 I also hate that the world has become a place of disgust and controversy. Why has it become like this? What makes it go from top to bottom, what makes it go from glow up to glow down, what made it suddenly go from an A to an F?
 "Why"is all I ca manage to murmur out, yet I will forever ponder upon that question, no one knows the the answer to.
 Wanna know why? Its us! Were the  answers! Were the killer in every  cliche 80's horror movie! Were the bad guy here. Not social media. Not comics. Not porno. Not tv-shows nor music videos its all on us. We let our imagination speak out loud and this is the result. The result is that were not moving forward were moving backwards, and we know that. Yet we just don't give a single f*ck and watch in amusement with popcorn in our right hand and enjoy the show.
~A smart intellectual

A feelings is mutual an smart intellectual once said, one may expect these feelings this hurt,desire,passion,lust,anger,sadness,obsession, romance(and more..) to stop eventually. But they never did that to me. 

I wrote a book in real life and after fair consideration I've agreed on publishing it. Please don't hate or anything on it I'm not the best poet, I just write what's on my heart:) Some are rhymes, song lyrics and even poetry with only sounds.
