Thursday evening following supper, the students of Hogwarts, Beauxbaton and Durmstrang are gathering once again in the the Great Hall. Everybody looks excited and full of grand expectations, while a merry mood infects everybody who enters. Conversations everywhere seem to revolve around the tournament at large, more specifically either who the three champions might turn out to be or what the three challenges might entail.
Only a few student's remain stoically silent, among them Victor Krum, who following Edward's outburst is constantly in a bad mood, as well as Fleur Delacour, who is occupied with cuddling her little sister and Irena.
Entering the hall together with Sibilla, Edward is able to spot the last sitting together with Hermione and her two friends. 
Surprised to find the temperamental Demoness together with his sister, the former Alfather shoots his companion a questioning look. Shooting him a dazeling smile, Sibilla explains. ''I don't know what she is thinking, since she and I aren't currently talking, but if I had to guess, I would say she has found a companion in Hermione.''
''Ah, I get it. I fucked up and now the two of them hate me...'' Says as they take their seats relatively far away from the center. ''... The only question now is how do I win the two of them over back?''
 Sitting down like a lady, both feet to one side of the bank and her back against his chest, Sibilla leans into him stating. ''Being able to admit your own faults is the first step to self betterment.''
''Love you Sib..'' Tells Edward her, about to kiss her rosy pillowy lips, as Dumbledore, Maxima and Karkaroff arriive. Drawing everybodys attention, the headmaster tells everybody. ''Calm down please. And now the moment you've all been waiting for, the champions selection!''
As Dumbledore approaches goblet, the blue flame suddenly start to glow red beforeshooting our the first name. Catching the piece of paper as it comes out, everyone looks rather anxiously.
Unfolding thr paper Dumbledore announces. ''The Durmstrang champion is ... Viktor Krum!''
As the Durmstrang crowd cheer and Edward looks over to his friend, Victor with a complicated but smug smile on his face. As the two of them get into a stareing contest, another name is shot out of the goblet and Dumbledore announces. ''The champion from Beauxbatons... Fleur Delacour!''
The Beauxbatons girls cheer as Fleur walks up and soon stands right next to Krum, having a healthy embarrassed blush on her face, since the rumours of ther alleged romance have gone rampant recently. Showing a huge smile on her face, Sibilla is genuinely happy for her friend as she spots her sister's dark inquisitive gaze.
Unable to her sister, that their husband had messed with the cup, Sibbila can only shrug, while snuggling deep into Edwards embrace.
In the mean time another name has been come out of the Goblet of fire and as Dumbledore is reading the piece of paper, he announces. ''The Hogwarts champion... Cedric Diggory.''
The Hogwarts pupils cheer as Cedric joins the other two champions and the headmaster shows a gentle smile, addressing the hall at large. ''Excellent! We now have our three champions! But in the end only one will go down in history. Only one will hoist this chalice of champions, this vessel of victory the tri-wizard cup!'
Saying that, Dumbledore suddenly points at an object at the other end of the hall, that is guarded by four aurors and is covered under a red cloth. As soon as the old man says the words 'tri-wizard cup', the cloth is blasted away by an invisible, revealing one of the most artistic and impressive pieces of art, said tri-wizard cup.
As people cheer, the Goblet of Fire once again glows red once more and this time three pieces of papers are ejected in one go. Shocked Dumbledore receives all three and reads out loud. ''Irena Proudmore, Edward Granger and Harry Potter. Harry Potter?''
Giving Sibilla a soft squeeze, Edward stands up and shoots a proud looking Irena a cheeky smile. As soon as Irena sees that, her mood once again darkens. Smiling even brighter, Edward starts contemplating his  modificatins on the goblet. -Did I modify it to create two or three additional spots? I could swear I only created two... One for Irena and one from me... How did Smart Glasses get an additional spot? Something doesn't seem right. Isn't this Harry Potter the same age as Hermione?-
Contemplating this, while walking up to Mr Dumbledore, Edward suddenly hears different people voice out their opinions, instantly penetrating the silence that rouse following the last announcement.
(Huge hairy man) "No ... No.''
(Dumbledore) ''Harry Potter!''
(Hermione) ''Go on Harry. Harry for goodness sake.''
Seeing his sisters friend slowly walks up, as he himself recieves his paper from Dumbledore, Edward decides to wait for him instead of instantly following after Irena, who has already joined the other champions. As the boy is given his piece of paper by Dumbledore, voices in the crowd start to shout out.
(Boy#1) ''He's a cheat! He's not even seventeen yet.''
(Girl#1) ''Agreed! Have him investigated!"
(Boy#2) "How the hell did he do it anyway? I demand an explanation!"
(Girl#2) ''I agreee! Investigate! We have to uphold the sanctity of the tournament!''
Hearing comments such as these sound out like tidle waves, as he and Harry walk side by side out of the Great Hall joining the now four other champions, Edward can only curse at them mentally. -Are you guys degenerates? How the hell are you guys only complaining about the poor little guys participation? Isn't it more obvious that all three additional spots where cheated? Don't I deserve the title of Chief Cheater or Cheater in chief, at the very least!-
Entering the room with the other champions, Edward puts his hand on the pale looking Harry in silent comfort. Shortly after them entering, Karkaroff bursts in, wanting to grab the boy , but before his hand can even touch him, the former Death Eater freezes for only a monent. 
That moment is enough for Dumbledore to enter and ask the frightened looking Harry. ''Harry! Did you put your name in the goblet of fire?
''No sir.'' Answers Harry instantly while Edward wordlessly retreats his wandlessly cast spell from Karkaroff.
Looking deep into Harrys eyes, Dumbledore asks another question. ''Did you ask one of the older students to do it for you?"
Sounfing more and more desperate, Harry states. ''No sir.''
Looking a bit pale, the headmaster asks once again. ''You're absolutely sure?''
''Yes...'' Says Harry, before instantly getting interrupted by Madam Maxime. ''Well of course he is lying.''
Before Edward is able to voice out his own opinion, Moody already does his. ''The hell he is. The goblet of fire is an exceptionally powerful magical object, only an exceptionally powerful conjurer could have hoodwinked it. Magic way beyond the talents of a fourth year.''
''You seem to have given this a fair bit of thought Mad-Eye.'' Shouts the now freed former Death Eater at the ex-auror.
Looking deep into Karkaroffs eyes, Moody says through clenched teeth. ''It was once my job to think as dark wizards do Karkaroff perhaps you remember?
Getting in between the two Dumbledore intervenes saying. ''That doesn't help Alastor. I leave this to you Barty.''
Having all eyes turned to him Barty Crouch looks out of the window announcing. ''The rules are absolute, the goblet of fire constitutes a binding magical contract. Mr Potter and the rest have no choice, they are as of tonight... a tri-wizards champions...'' Seeing angry stares aimed at him by both Karlaroff as well as Maxime,  he adds. ''... But there sill needs to be an investigation into this... irregularity.''
''I can do that...'' Announces Edward suddenly demanding the attention of everyone present.

The Halloween feast seemed to take much longer than usual, everyone eager to see who will be selected as the Champion of their school. At long last, McGonagall rose from her seat, followed by her fellow judges, and announced the beginning of the selection process.
"The goblet is almost ready to make its decision, I estimate that it requires one more minute. Now, when the champions' names are called, I would ask them to please come up to the top of the Hall and go through into the next chamber," she indicated the door behind the staff table,  "where they will be receiving their first instructions." 
Taking a page from Dumbledore's flamboyant book, the Headmistress waved her wand theatrically, and all the candles except for those inside the carved pumpkin Halloween decorations were extinguished, plunging the room into a state of semidarkness.
The Goblet of Fire now shone more brightly than anything in the whole Hall, the sparkling bright, bluey-whiteness of the flames almost painful on the eyes. 
The flames inside the goblet turned suddenly red again. Sparks began to fly from it. Next moment, a tongue of flame shot into the air, a charred piece of parchment fluttered out of it, and the whole room gasped. 
McGonagall snatched the piece parchment from the air and read it out loud to the students intently listening on the edge of their seats.
"The champion for Durmstrang will be Viktor Krum." 
Chad was slightly surprised to hear the famous Quidditch player was selected once again since he was a year younger than his canon counterpart, and the other Durmstrang students had an extra year of experience on him.
"Bravo, Viktor!" boomed Karkaroff, so loudly that everyone could hear him, even over all the applause. "Knew you had it in you!" 
The clapping and chatter soon died down, and now everyone's attention was focused again on the goblet, which, seconds later, turned red once more. The second piece of parchment shot out of it, propelled by the flames. 
 "The champion for Beauxbatons is Lâche Couture." 
Chad was stunned to see one of the pathetic male students that had been shivering from cold rise up amidst applause from the crowd. Surely a guy that couldn't even cast a charm to keep himself warm would be flame-grilled in the first task.
Before he could think too deeply on the goblet's selection process, the third piece of parchment was snatched out of the air and read aloud. 
"The Hogwarts champion is Miles Bletchley!" McGonagall couldn't help but exclaim loudly, he was only sixteen after all.
The slender dark-haired Slytherin stood up with a sh*t-eating grin to thunderous applause from his House, and ridicule and denouncement from the Gryffindors. 
Chief among those crying foul and demanding a redo for the Hogwarts champion was Ron Weasley. It didn't help matters that Miles Bletchley was a mean-spirited Slytherin Quidditch player, that saw no problem with foul play against members of the Gryffindor team.
"No!" cried Ron loudly, "the slimy snake cheated, how can he be the Hogwarts champion!"
His loud protests were met with derision from the Ravenclaw and Slytherin tables since they understood that his feelings and school rules meant nothing when up against a magical contract. 
That and everyone was well aware that Miles was one of those that had paid Harry Potter to enter his name. If you were going to spend a hundred Galleons to enter a competition, you were not exactly going to keep quiet about it.
Even if you were not selected, you could still get bragging rights for having the balls and wealth to enter a dangerous competition when you were underage! You had to get your money's worth somehow.
The objections didn't bother Miles at all since he gave the Gryffindor table a mocking salute as he disappeared into the chamber for the champions to receive their instructions. But before McGonagall could quiet down the vocal protesters, the Goblet of Fire turned red again. 
Sparks were flying out of it, and a long flame shot suddenly into the air, and borne upon it was another piece of parchment. Automatically, it seemed, the Headmistress reached out and seized the parchment.
Chad had focused his attention on only one person at the front of the Dining Hall, and it wasn't on McGonagall catching the fourth entry into a tournament meant for three participants.
No, Chad was looking at Remus Lupin's smug smile, while the rest of those gathered had looks of shock and disbelief. It was clear that he had expected a fourth champion.
"Ronald Weasley!" Minerva read out in stunned incredulity.
The boy was barely passing his classes, and he was selected to compete in the most prestigious wizarding tournament in Europe?
There was no applause, and a buzzing started to fill the Hall; some students were standing up to get a better look at the idiot that had just been yelling about cheating.
Remus Lupin also looked on in shock at the red-headed boy whose face was quickly matching his hideous hair colour. 
'How is this possible, it should have been Harry Potter's name that came out. The plan is ruined! I must contact Dumbledore as soon as possible, he will know what to do.' The werewolf thought anxiously.
Chad watched Lupin's panicked facial expressions with glee. Ever since he understood how overpowered magical contracts were, and that they could be bypassed by artifacts such as the Goblet of Fire, he had never signed his name to anything.
Never mind the magical vow he had taken to change his name, Chad had Boppy sign his homework for him and had a stamp made with 'Harry Potter' to fill out any projects in class. 
The extra hassle seems to have paid off by the look on Lupin's face, screw getting dragged into a contract he never intended to by signing his name on something innocuous months or even years ago! 
Ron Weasley was evidence of that consequence!
Chad had grown tired of the annoying boy's rude and confrontational behaviour. Even Malfoy seemed to be growing tired of the idiot, as he had been ignoring Ron more and more instead of verbally slaughtering the child as he usually did.
The Age Line really was a poor defence to stop underage kids from entering, especially when you had a house-elf to do it for you. Boppy had retrieved some class assignment Ron had signed his name too, written a made-up school on it and then popped over to drop it into the goblet.
"I never put my name in, someone else must have done it!" Ron tried to desperately defend himself under the judgment of all those gathered in the Hall.
Quite a few heads turned to seek Chad out since he had very publically done just that.
'Sh*t,' Chad scolded himself while outwardly showing no change in expression, 'I overlooked that! Oh well, there are still plenty of ways to deflect the blame.'
But just as he was going to muddy the waters, Draco Malfoy decided to take a shot at Ron. The opportunity to publically shame the Gryffindor menace must have been too much to resist.
"Come off it, Weasel. You have been bragging to any who would listen that you would win the Triwizard Tournament easily and planned to enter. I though Gryffindors were supposed to be brave."
Before Ron could explode and shout insults at his nemesis, McGonagall interrupted.
"That's enough, it's too late to argue if you entered or not, Mr Weasley. Your name has come out of the goblet so you must compete. Up here, if you please!" She ordered.
Hundreds and hundreds of eyes were upon the loud-mouthed boy as he disappeared with McGonagall and the other judges behind the door where the selected champions waited.
Chad couldn't help but throw fuel on the fire. "To be honest, I thought Ron would be too stupid to find a way to bypass the Age Line, it's surprising enough he hasn't failed out of school, let alone be selected as a champion."
And just like a spark igniting a wildfire, the Hall was suddenly aflame with people talking about the youngest Weasley male.
"He is pretty good at chess, so he must be great at strategy and tactics!" Said a boy wearing red and gold, loyally trying to defend his housemate.
"Pfft, trust a Gryffindor to think chess makes someone a master tactician! I hear the buffoon struggles to spell his own name or cast basic spells!" The mocking retort from a Slytherin seventh year supplied.
"I wonder what school he registered himself under to be selected as the fourth champion." Asked Penelope Clearwater to no one in particular.
"What do you mean?" Came the inevitable reply.
"We had to write our name and our school before putting it into the goblet. Everyone just assumed we had to use our own school. Maybe the kid that eats like a troll is not as dumb as one." She clarified, causing even more questions than answers to be thrown around the Dining Hall.
Unlike in canon where Harry Potter was universally disliked for sneaking into the tournament, Chad's outlandish way of blatantly entering people's names for money had desensitised them from seeing it as dishonesty. 
Therefore, even though Ron had Slytherin insulting him, his own House didn't turn against him like they did to Harry Potter. Chad was slightly disappointed that his own actions shielded Ron from a taste of his own medicine.
But then again, he would have to face a giant fire breathing nightmare, that was resistant to any spell the less than mediocre wizard could force out of his decrepit, hand-me-down wand. 
Yeah, maybe it was a bit too harsh entering him into the tournament.

R.O.B was tired of reading about how Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore was the greatest wizard of all time and how he craps rainbows. 

He wanted to tear off the facade so that Dark Lord Dumbles is exposed for the villain he really is. To do so, he enlists the help of a like-minded geek and throws him into the body of baby Harry Potter when he was struck with the killing curse.

The end of October had come and Harry had somewhat settled into his routine. He did his best not to stand out for more than just being Harry Potter and since his two acquaintances were both doing amazing, he was able to hide in their shadows and make it look like his own above average abilities were due to their association. Neither was happy with that but after Harry begged them on his knees not to let anyone know he was the smart one, they agreed not to tell others.
So far there had only been one incident which threw off Harry's image of a 'just above average student with help,' and that was their first Flying Class. Harry got the worse broom and once Harry mounted the thing, it shot up into the air and broke in half leaving Harry to fall thirty feet from the sky. This wasn't the problem, the problem was that Harry did a shoulder roll on landing and got up without a single visible or measurable injury. If it was another student it would be talked about for a week and forgotten, but as Harry Potter, it was something that simply added to his immortalized legend.
Today was the day that the student delegations of Beauxbatons and Durmstrang would arrive at Hogwarts. It was a Saturday and although most would rather be playing indoors or in some cases, *cough* Hermione *cough*, doing their homework or studying, every student was made to stand out in the frigid cold and wait until the other schools showed up to show school wide unity.
"Weasley, straighten your hat, Ms. Patil, take that ridiculous thing out of your hair," cried McGonagall as she went row by row to confirm the uniformity of the students.
Once ready, she said, "Follow me please, first years out in front," and lead everyone to the Black Lake.
After waiting for a while, Dumbledore said aloud that Beauxbatons had arrived and pointed up. Harry saw what appeared to be a dozen elephant sized winged horses pulling an enormous carriage.
A few of the students unconsciously backed up when the carriage descended for a landing and the whole group felt the impact of the hoofbeats of the creature's landing.
A moment after the carriage came to a halt, a young man came out and opened a set of golden stairs. Dumbledore approached and met the woman who came out and exchanged pleasantries. What surprised most was that she was even taller than Hagrid.
A series of young women in powder blue robes left the carriage with an attempted show of grace that was difficult to pull off successfully with each and every one of them shivering to the bone. Dumbledore had a teacher escort the lot into the castle before they all froze solid and everyone else continued to wait for Durmstrang to show up.
Not wanting to be shown up it seemed, the Durmstrang delegation showed up in a giant ship which ascended from beneath the surface of the Black Lake leaving everyone to wonder how it got there in the first place.
The students of Durmstrang and their headmaster who looked like a stereotypical evil warlock all wore furs and looked far less fragile than their Beauxbatons counterparts. Harry heard the redhead standing a few places down from him, "Hey, that's Krum!"
According to a magazine in Harry's inventory, Victor Krum was a student of Durmstrang yet a professional Quidditch player, one of the best in the world even. He would be in his seventh year and his skill was expected to lead his team to the world cup once he graduated. Shame his team had no one else to rely on.
With their arrival the whole group returned to the castle into the warmth of the great hall. The Durmstrang students chose to sit at the Slytherin table while the Beauxbatons chose to sit with the Ravenclaws.
The headmaster introduced his fellow headmasters and told everyone the choosing of the champions would begin after the feast.
The food that appeared had a larger variety than normal which some of the cookbooks in Harry's inventory named as french dishes. Harry himself was watching the new students and checking out their exotic energy. Although there was no level floating above each person's head, the size and brightness of the exotic energy mass within each gave Harry an idea for their Magic stats and Magic Path Rank.
From Beauxbatons, the strongest contender seemed to be a blond young woman whose magic seemed more a part of her than normal. This was something he usually only saw in magical creatures. The strongest from Durmstrang was unsurprisingly Victor Krum, and not by a small margin either. Though if that meant he was good or everyone else from his school was bad, Harry did not know. There were a few possible contenders for Hogwarts but the strongest sat at the Hufflepuff table. Harry would say he was level 50 with a Magic Path Rank of 9.

Harry meditated daily to level up at least once a day and extra on weekends while practicing combat both magical and non-magical against the monsters he faced. Teaching Neville and Hermione while studying himself got his Scholar path up an impressive amount and last month Harry finally came up with a rune scheme that protected electronics from exotic energy. It basically used an ordered set of exotic energy and froze it in place around the electronics, forming something of a shield. The frozen shield wouldn't enter the fragile parts and would stop additional exotic energy up to a certain strength from entering. It wouldn't survive anything stronger than a weak spell but would at least not get fried just from ambient energy.
Once that was done, Harry added to his routine more time to study computers and electronics. At a few points Harry had to sneak out of Hogwarts to apparate to London and buy some more electronics but he hadn't been caught so far which was a win for him and let him advance his Tech path as well.
Harry waited until the feast was over to see how the tournament participants would be selected so he could ponder on how he would be entered.
Two men entered the Great Hall and Dumbledore said, "Let me introduce, for those who do not know them, Mr. Bartemius Crouch, Head of the Department of International Magical Cooperation, and Mr. Ludo Bagman, Head of the Department of Magical Games and Sports. They will be joining myself along with Professor Karkaroff and Madame Maxime as the judges for the tournament."
Mr. Filch, the strange nearly magicless man came in with a jewel encrusted chest and placed it before Dumbledore.
Dumbledore gave a few more foreboding warnings before tapping the chest three times and opened it to reveal a rather large silver cup. He explained that it was called the Goblet of Fire and would be the impartial judge. He would take it to the entrance hall and draw an age line around it that would prevent any under the age of seventeen from approaching it. Once there, he would light it and any who felt themselves up to the challenge would have to write their name on a piece of paper and place it in the goblet. The next day, the goblet would choose three names, one of each school to be contenders for the Triwizard Cup.
Once the feast was over, Harry, Hermione, Neville and the still as of yet to be named redhead went to the dorm. The redhead asked, "Harry, are you going to enter your name in it?"
Harry shrugged, "Nope, doubt it matters. The Goblet will likely spit out my name regardless."
Neville said, "Oh yeah, didn't you bet Hermione you'd be entered to compete against your will?"
Hermione said, "There is no way you're going to complete."
"What if Snape or some seventh year enters my name?"
Hermione said, "Even if they did, there is no way the goblet would choose a first year when seventh years.." Her complaint about Harry's lack of skill compared to a seventh year died down when she realized she had no actual idea where Harry's skill level was at. Anyone else and there was no second thought about it. Harry Potter on the other hand.
The redhead spoke up, "Do you guys hear that?"
Harry didn't hear anything so he paused and turned the background sound up on the menu. Once he unpaused, the sound of massive footsteps echoed from around the corner down the hall.
Everyone turned around to go back down the hallway but the stairs leading up to the hallway decided not to cooperate and twisted away leading no way to go but forward.
A large green monster with a stupid looking face and a massive wooden club turned the corner and locked eyes with the four students. Yup, it was a troll.
Harry hadn't fought a troll before but his racing heartbeat was quickly quelled by the passive mental ability of his Gamer power.
The others were not so lucky. The redhead started muttering in circles, Hermione was hyperventilating, and Neville was frozen solid.
Harry paused the world and walked over to the troll to examine him. The reach of his club would prevent anyone from running past him and Harry really didn't feel like dying today. Harry returned back to the end of the hall where the stairs had left him and came up with an idea. Harry confirmed the distance and measured it a few times before going over the plan a few more times to be sure. One he was ready, he unpaused and was returned back to his original position.
Harry grabbed Neville and the redhead by the robes and said, "Hermione, follow me now, no questions," and dragged them both back to where the stairs were. Hermione was the type to overthink rather than freeze so she easily adjusted and followed Harry back.
The hallway met the stairs at a balcony with a rail that extended further left and right than the hallway, out of sight of the troll. Harry shoved Neville and the redhead into one side and pointed to the other side and told Hermione, "Stay there, don't move, I have a plan, it will work, don't move."
Hermione tucked herself into the corner and Harry returned to the hallway where the long strides of the Troll had it almost to their position. Harry stood before the troll who swung its club and Harry paused again to go back and confirm that Hermione wasn't peaking.
Luckily she was still crouched down in the corner and Neville had passed out and the redhead seemed to have his eyes shut.
Harry unpaused and ducked under the swing before he slipped under the troll's legs. He then cast a Slippery Jinx on the troll's skin which caused the ungraceful monster's legs to slip out from its own weight. Lastly, Harry used an overpowered knockback jinx to send the troll down what might as well have been a frictionless hall due to the slippery jinx where the troll sailed off the stairless deck and down the tower four full flights before landing on the bottom.
Harry walked over to the edge and peered down at the fallen monster. The creature's exotic energy was circulating around its body meaning it wasn't dead, but likely wouldn't get up soon.
When Harry went back over to Hermione she reached out and hugged him.
The redhead seemed to have seen the troll fly off the balcony and said, "Blimey Harry, what did you do?"
Harry shrugged and said, "Slippery jinx and knockback jinx. Made the troll slip and knocked him back. Gravity took care of the rest."
Hermione said, "Harry, that was brilliant!"
He argued back, "Lucky is more like it. Had we been trapped on the first floor, that wouldn't have gone so well."
Neville got up and said, "What happened?"
Hermione looked hesitant to answer before the redhead said, "Harry defeated the troll!"
Neville's eyes shot up and he exclaimed, "What? That was real? Where is it?"
The redhead pointed down the tower where several students and a teacher had now approached the troll which still wasn't moving.
Hermione said, "We should get a teacher."
Harry sighed in defeat but didn't argue. Ten minutes later Harry had told everyone what had happened several times. The knockback jinx wouldn't be taught for a few more months but was still considered a first year spell while the slippery jinx wasn't taught at all but was around the level of a first year spell.
That being said, the slippery jinx was normally something that targeted the hand which caused the target's wand to slip from their grip. Casting in a way where the friction of the entire surface of a troll was removed was far beyond the norm. And the knockback jinx was little more than a very hard push and was less effective the heavier something was. The weight of a fully grown mountain troll should have barely budged with such a spell, frictionless surface or not.
Luckily for Harry, Snape was there and more than happy to downplay Harry's achievements as luck which Harry had no complaints about.
Still, before the next morning there was not a single person within the castle who did not know of Harry's single handed defeat of the troll.
Breakfast time included rumors being passed back and forth about who entered their names in the goblet and tales of Harry's Epic Battle with the troll where he punched it through a wall and sent it flying to the other side of the castle. Harry himself found each retelling more outlandish than the last. What was the point of using first year spells if people weren't going to bother recalling the details? Should he use fiendfyre next time?
Harry went around the Entrance Hall so he wouldn't be seen in the same room as the Goblet. Some part of him figured if he actually entered his name, the Goblet would probably select him as Hogwarts champion. But what if the quest was like a self fulfilling prophecy where if he didn't hear it, he wouldn't have entered himself thinking he was already destined for it and wouldn't have had to complete?!
Slightly crazy perhaps, but he still wanted to avoid purposefully entering himself so he could see how his name would come out anyways.
This year, Halloween was on a Sunday, and while some students had plans that revolved around sitting in front of a cup all day, Harry actually intended on being productive. Along with Hermione, Harry spent the next several hours in the library. He would look for an interesting book, place it in his inventory and pause, and take as long to go over it as he wanted. The fun part was that he could even look through the restricted section. Each of those books had a spell where should the book be opened by someone without a special permission slip, the book would literally start screaming. However since books needed to be moved every once in a while, simply taking them off the shelf didn't do anything as long as they were off the shelf too long.
This system certainly never took into account an ability to read a book without opening the cover in less than a second.
Harry couldn't go to the restricted section often or he'd get caught, but when no one was around he'd walk over to it, remove a book, place it in his inventory, pause, go over it completely, then unpause, remove it and set it back. With practice the book was only off the shelf for two seconds.
Thanks to his Scholar Path reaching rank 11, Harry could read and cross reference material far more thoroughly than he used to be able to. Harry figured he'd have all the unique and important books memorized by February.
Once the time for the Halloween feast got close, Harry and Hermione both returned to the Great Hall to watch the selection for the tournament.
Hermione saw that Harry was eating with the zen like acceptance of a death row convict having his last meal and said, "Harry, you are not going to be chosen alright?"
Harry spoke up, "Oh ye of little faith. I thought after yesterday you would stop doubting my talent as a trouble magnet. Just because I'm a first year and I didn't go anywhere near the goblet doesn't mean my name won't come out."
Neither Harry or Hermione were whispering and Harry heard a few Gryffindors seem to whisper back to back and what seemed to be bets being made.
The redhead said, "My brothers tried getting past the age line with an aging potion but it shot them back and they both grew a beard."
Harry said, "One of them should keep it so we can tell them apart."
The redhead responded, "Naw, even if they did, they'd probably figure out how to switch the beard just to make everyone mistake one for the other."
Harry could see the twins doing that.
The Goblet had been moved to a stand in front of the headmaster's table and the students of both visiting schools entered the hall and waited to the side.
Once the feast ended, Dumbledore stood up and said, "Well, the goblet is almost ready to make its decision. I estimate that it requires one more minute. Now, when the champions' names are called, I would ask them to please come up to the top of the Hall, walk along the staff table, and go through into the next chamber where they will be receiving their first instructions."
The headmaster waved his wand around which lowered the brightness of the candles. The Goblet of Fire was the brightest flame in the hall.
After a moment, the flame spit out a paper which Dumbledore caught and named the Durmstrang champion as Victor Krum, to no one's surprise. The next paper that shot out named the Beauxbatons champion Fleur Delacour, the young blond Harry noticed earlier.
When the last paper shot out, a collective breath was held by the entire hall.
"The Hogwarts champion, is Cedric Diggory!"
While the entire hall turned to uproar, Hermione turned to Harry and gave a silent, knowing, and slightly smug smile. Harry noticed several of the Gryffindors glance at Harry with a bit of an edge. There had in fact been bets placed on him.
Harry however noticed the fire hadn't gone out yet. He turned to face Hermione and waggled a finger back and forth signifying, 'not yet.'
Dumbledore had already started his speech about giving the three champions support and his honest hopes for the tournament. He never got to finish his speech as the Goblet of Fire roared to life once more and spat out a fourth slip of paper before finally going out.. Hermione immediately turned to face Harry who gave her an 'I told you so' smile.
Harry himself felt the exotic energy of the cup attach itself to him in the same moment.

Harry was surprised that the contract actually connected to him and was more surprised that he was now considered a legal adult. That was something he could use.
After a long pause of looking at the singed parchment, Dumbledore called out, "Harry Potter."
Harry innocently asked aloud, "Yes Headmaster?"
Dumbledore took a moment to collect himself before adding, "Harry Potter, come up here if you please."
Harry stood up and said, "Um sir, if this is your idea of a joke, I think I would prefer the one about a troll, a hag, and a leprechaun who all go into a bar."
A few nervous chuckles broke the silence.
The headmaster gave a weak smile before continuing, "I'm afraid this is not a joke Mr. Potter, your name has come out of the Goblet of Fire. Please head to the room with your fellow Champions."
Harry let his head down in defeat and made his way up the hall. He announced aloud, "For my next funeral, I like white lilies," before joining his fellow champions in the other room.

*** Hogwarts Express
The summer ended soon after Harry's victory which was very publicized in the British media as Harry was the first British competitor to win the trophy since Filius Flitwick had competed back in the 60s.
Harry credited Arcturus and Dumbledore as his trainers, saying that they cultivated his 'passion for duelling', neglecting to mention Nicolas Flamel's contribution to his studies.
It was time to go back to Hogwarts.
Harry spent most of the time on the train catching up with Hermione and introducing Cedric, who had decided to sit with them after his turn at patrolling which happened in the middle of the ride.
"This way, I get to sit with both groups of my friends." Cedric explained.
It was a generally quicker ride than usual, and both Harry and Hermione were looking forward to getting back to good ol' Hoggy.
*** Later, at Hogwarts
"It is my sad duty to inform you that Quidditch will not be taking place this year. Instead, we will be holding a far more important event, the Triwizard Tournament…"
Dumbledore waited for the gasping and murmuring to die down.
"…there is no official age limit on the entry, but if you are younger than fifth year, I would not advise you to enter." Dumbledore looked somewhat severely at Harry and Hermione, giving them a warning look.
"…Not to mention that the choice will be made by an ancient magical artefact that measures worthiness using an algorithm that takes into account magical power, skill and even balances out for age, so if you are younger, the artefact, known as the goblet of fire will be far less likely to pick you unless you are substantially more worthy than the other contestants. The tasks have been made far safer with next to no chance of death, unless something goes horribly wrong. In addition to the points earned in the first two tasks, there will also be a three-person duelling tournament, as well as a Quidditch, as well as a chess tournament, that will add 50 points each to the winner as much as a flawless score on a task. These two will be chosen by the school's chosen coach, for Hogwarts, Filius Flitwick, seven-time winner of the international duelling tournament will be coaching the duelling team and Rolanda Hooch, former England player and Wasps captain will be coaching the Quidditch team."
There was thunderous noise and whooping from the younger students who were afraid Dumbledore would prevent them from entering. 
"We will be hosting the Beauxbatons Ecole de magie as well as the Durmstang Institute of magic, both schools will be arriving next week, and please do remember that the first and foremost point of this tournament is to promote friendship between our various countries. We have invited them earlier than usual, so that you may bond with them before the tournament. The trials for the duelling team and the Quidditch team will be held tomorrow and day after respectively, the trials for the chess team will be held the day after that, if you want to sign up, please talk to Professor Flitwick or Professor Hooch as would apply. The goblet of fire will be unveiled the day our visitors arrive, there will be wards around it that will prevent the entry of the name of someone's name by another person. Hopefully this will be sufficient defence, and I implore any student thinking to enter their name to reconsider."

*** Next day
Harry had signed up for the tryouts for both the duelling competition as well as the Quidditch team.
Flitwick had them lined up and called them forward one by one to judge their ability, he went easy on them for a while before suddenly going all out to see their defence, then stopping the duel once his enemy was beaten. Hermione didn't want to participate in the duelling tournament despite Harry's protests.
Cedric did the best against Flitwick, making Flitwick have to go on the defensive for almost twenty seconds before Flitwick recovered from the shock and completely owned Cedric.
Harry went up slightly nervous, from the skill already displayed, it was unlikely he would even come close to winning, but if he went really hard, he could make a good impression on his Professor.
Harry started out with spell-chains, getting faster as he went, causing Flitwick to have to respond, with defensive spells and even some counters.
Harry immediately went the elemental route to coax his opponent into attacking and as he thought, Flitwick fought back, destroying his fire-stream with a flick of his wrist which caused a jet of water, which went on towards Harry.
Harry sliced right through the stream, with a  cutting curse, that Flitwick absorbed on a shield before having to pour extra power into the shield as Harry sent spell after spell, trying to overload the shield.
Flitwick sent a burst of energy, blinding Harry and incinerating his spells.
In the single second that Harry was blinded, Flitwick sprung right at Harry, closing the distance.
Anticipating the move, Harry drew the sword of Potter and swung ahead of himself pre-emptively, forcing Flitwick to sway backwards and not be able to cast a spell, while Harry sent a wave of air to blast Flitwick back.
Flitwick was flung backwards but the master dueller stopped himself in mid-air and sent a fearsome bird of fire at Harry.
Harry conjured a Basilisk of water, but it wasn't nearly big enough to fight the raven.
The fire stopped just in front of Harry and a quick stunning spell almost caught him but Harry's reflex batted the spell away.
"I concede." Harry said respectfully, knowing that if Flitwick wasn't afraid to burn his stat student, he would have lost and lost painfully.
"The three who will play for Hogwarts are Cedric Diggory, Harry Potter and Cho Chang, the reserves are Oliver Wood, Fred Weasley and George Weasley." Flitwick announced, "All of you will show up immediately after class on Mondays and Fridays."
"Can you talk to Professor Black and Headmaster Dumbledore about inserting this into my timetable." Harry questioned.
Flitwick looked like wanted to question Harry a bit but held back.
"Yes, Mr Potter, I will, but know that the Headmaster doesn't run your life." Flitwick warned.

"From his own experience, Harry knew that luck had never been on his side. At that moment he decided that he wouldn't rely on luck to solve his problems, he had to become smart, beyond the norm and talk his way through life. That's the only way he could survive."

We all made our way inside and sat down in the Great Hall. The students from Beauxbatons and Durmstrang spread out along the tables, with a majority of the Durmstrang students sitting at the Slytherin table and a majority of the Beauxbatons students sitting at the Ravenclaw table. Fleur walked over and sat down next to me at the Gryffindor table, but didn't get a chance to speak before Dumbledore stood up and began to speak.
"Welcome Beauxbatons and Durmstrang to Hogwarts. For those of you unaware, to my left is the Headmistress of Beauxbatons, Madame Olympe Maxime. To my right is the Headmaster of Durmstrang, Igor Karkaroff. On either side of them are two people who will act as judges for the tournament, Ludo Bagman and Barty Crouch."
As he introduced them the four people stood before returning to their seats again.
"Now that everyone is here we can announce the method that the champions will be chosen." As Dumbledore said this, Filch walked in an with him he brought a glass case which contained a giant golden cup.
"This is the Goblet of Fire. It is an impartial judge. Each student of age may write their name and school on a piece of paper and place it in the flame. On the day of the choosing the goblet will choose the champion of each school to compete. With that said, tuck in." Dumbledore finished.
Everyone around us began to eat as I talked with Fleur. "So this is what you meant about seeing you sooner than I think."
"Yes, I thought it would be a nice surprise."
"So you're going to enter your name into the cup then?" I asked.
"Of course, it is a great honor to compete in the Triwizard Tournament." Fleur answered.
"I've read that it's quite deadly. Are you sure you want to compete? It might be too dangerous." Hermione chimed in.
"It wouldn't be much of an honor to compete if it was easy." Fleur responded.
"I wonder what kind of defenses they'll put around the Goblet to stop people who are underage from competing." I said, trying to change the subject.
"I'm sure Dumbledore will have defenses planned that will stop anyone who shouldn't enter from entering." Hermione said.
Turning to look at the old man chatting with the other headmasters, I wasn't so sure with his track record. He didn't have the greatest showing in the defense department. Turning back to the group, I finally noticed that Ron was caught up in Fleur's allure, absentmindedly shoveling food into his mouth while staring. Now that I really glanced around, I could see a lot of guys were paying extra attention to Fleur, with some being better at resisting the effects than others.
Fleur noticed me looking around and spoke up about it. "They will adjust like my classmates did. It takes some time to get used to the passive allure of a veela."
"Yes, I'm sure it's so passive." Hermione muttered under her breath, but I could hear her and I could tell Fleur could as well, but she chose to ignore it.
From there we made small talk over the course of the rest of dinner. Eventually it was time to make our way up to the dorms. With a promise to hang out later, we parted ways with Fleur and made our way up to the Gryffindor dorms.
As we walked, I finally asked Hermione what her deal was. "What do you have against Fleur?"
"What do you mean? I don't have anything against Fleur" Hermione lied.
"Really, then what was with the snide comments."
Hermione sighed and said "Just be careful Harry. You seem to be relatively resistant to her allure, but that's when she's not trying. Veela are known to ensnare men."
"You know Hermione, you shouldn't believe everything you read in books. Basing your view on someone on their race sounds pretty racist to me." I replied and sped up, walking ahead of Hermione.
"Wait Harry, that's not what I meant." Hermione called out after me, but I already was too far ahead of her. Saying the password, I entered the Gryffindor common room and made my way up to the fourth year boys dorms.
Making my way to my bed and sitting down, I pulled out a Salazar's journal and began to read it. I had gotten to a part where he began to describe his interactions with other magical communities. It seemed that in his pursuit of knowledge, he began to branch out, being one of the few wizards to make contact with other groups.
Before I could get very far into it, the rest of the guys in my year filtered in. As they entered and took notice of me, Dean took the opportunity to speak.
"Harry, mate, why didn't you tell us you knew a veela."
Sighing and closing my book for a moment, I said "Because it doesn't matter."
"Hell it doesn't matter. Could you introduce us." Seamus said.
"I'll pass. Build some resistance to the allure and do it yourself" I said and moved the curtains around my bed. I could hear them still muttering outside though. "Doesn't have to be so stingy. Probably wants to keep her all to himself."
Putting a silencing charm around me I continued to read the journal into the night before going to sleep.
--------------------------------------------------------------The next day was a weekend so we didn't have classes. Making my way down to breakfast, I found a group assembled in the atrium connected to the Great Hall.
They were all looking at the Goblet of Fire sitting in the middle of the room, lit with blue flames. While I was looking, Fleur came into the room and I moved over to talk to her. Noticing the piece of paper in her hand, I said "Entering right away?"
"The sooner the better." Fleur responded and walked forward, crossing the line drawn around the goblet and placed her paper into the fire. She then walked back over to me and I asked her something I was curious about.
"Do you know what that line around the Goblet is?"
"That's an age line. It will only allow people of a certain age to pass over it, while those not of the correct age will have something happen to them dependent on who cast it." Fleur answered.
"So this is the defense Dumbledore came up with. I really hope this isn't everything." I said aloud.
"Why?"
"Because it is really easy to enter your name with just the age line as protection." I responded.
Fleur opened her mouth to ask me another question, but before she could the twins entered the room carrying a potion in each of their hands.
"Stand back, stand back. I think it's about time we entered, don't you think Fred?" George said.
"Right you are George. Bottoms up then?" Fred asked.
"Bottoms up." They both said at the same time and downed their potion. As they drank the potion, I finally noticed Hermione sitting on a bench near the goblet.
"It's not going to work" she said to the twins.
At that point they had finished downing the potion and winked at her. "We'll just have to see then." Fred said.
It took a few seconds, but the twins both grew an inch or two. Making a show of it, they slowly lifted their legs up and jumped across the age line.
"Look at that..." George began but before he could continue a loud, sizzling sound began to be heard. The twins were thrown out of the circle and hit the ground. They began to stand up and once they fully were standing everyone around them began laughing.
"What, do I have something on my face?" George asked. He began to touch his face and noticed the long white beard that now adorned his face. Fred was in a similar situation as well. 

Fleur tapped me on the shoulder. Turning to look at her, she said "As amusing as that was, I'm curious why you think the age line isn't sufficient."
"Let's walk to breakfast and I'll tell you along the way."
Fleur and I made our way out of the atrium and towards the Gryffindor tables. As we walked I explained my reasoning.
"The age line stops anyone who isn't the right age from passing, but why would you have to pass in the first place. It might take a few tries, but you could probably throw a piece of paper into the goblet from where the line is. That's ignoring just asking someone who is of age to take your paper and put it in."
"I guess I never thought of that." Fleur said.
"I don't blame you. There's something about magic that makes everyone look at magical methods first instead of the mundane ones."
From there we sat down at breakfast and ate while talking. The champions would be announced tonight, so I had the whole day to spend however I wanted. After breakfast was done, I said goodbye to Fleur and made my way to the Room of Requirement. I almost had enough baseline knowledge to begin actually working with the evil piece. I wanted to get that reading done now so I could work on it the next time I summoned Rias.
Most of the day was spent in the room reading. With the room's ability to shift to the user's needs I was provided a really comfortable place to read, which made it much preferable to my own bed.
Eventually it was time for dinner and I made my way back down to the Great Hall. I sat down at the Gryffindor table next to Fleur again. I watched as Hermione and Ron came in and sat across from me.
"So Harry, who do you reckon is going to be our champion. I've been hearing rumors that Cedric and Angelina put their names up." Ron said, ignoring the tension that was still between Hermione and I.
"I don't know. It could be either one of them or someone we aren't even thinking of. As long as it's not me I couldn't care less."
It was at this point that Dumbledore stood up in front of us once again.
"We will now begin the choosing of the champions. If your name is chosen, please head to the room behind me."
The goblet lit up with red flames and spat out a piece of paper which Dumbledore grabbed from the air.
"The champion of Durmstrang is...Viktor Krum." 
Durmstrang cheered along with a good portion of Hogwarts students who liked Krum as he stood up and made his way into the back room.
The goblet lit up once again and spat out another name.
"The champion for Beauxbatons is... Fleur Delacour."
I congratulated Fleur as she stood up, with Beauxbatons clapping but not being as rowdy as Durmstrang was. Fleur then made her way into the back room as well.
The next name was shot out and read aloud.
"And finally, the champion for Hogwarts is...Cedric Diggory."
The cheering this time was the loudest of them all since there was mostly Hogwarts students here. Cedric made his way into the back room along with the rest of the champions.
'Maybe I was worried for nothing. I wasn't picked as champion, so I was probably just paranoid.'
In hindsight, I really wish I hadn't thought that.
"Those are your champions..." Dumbledore began but was cut off as the goblet lit up again and shot out one more name.
As Dumbledore caught the paper I felt something try to attach itself to me before being negated by my magic resistance.
'What was that' I thought as Dumbledore opened his mouth to read the name.
"Harry Potter" he read out once.
"Harry Potter" he read out again louder.
Slowly standing up I walked towards the back door, ignoring the muttering that was going on all around me. Opening the door and entering the room, I took a deep breath to calm myself.
"Do they want us back outside?" Fleur asked.
"Nope, it's just my luck showing itself again." I said.
The three champion's faces took on a look of confusion, but before they could voice it the door behind me opened and a group of people entered.
Dumbledore was in the lead, walking towards me and standing in front of me.
"Harry did you enter your name in the Goblet of Fire?" He asked calmly.
"No" was my response.
"Did you ask one of the older students to do it for you?" he asked.
"No...wait that would've worked? What was the point of the age line if it could be passed so easily?" I asked.
"The age line's purpose was to prevent an unnecessary number of submissions. In the end it was unlikely any younger student would be more worthy than an older one, so we felt it was sufficient." Dumbledore answered.
'Once again, Dumbledore comes through on failing to protect something. He's 0 for 3 right now.'
"Regardless the boy has been chosen as a champion. He must compete." Ludo Bagman said.
"It is not fair for Hogwarts to get two bites of the apple." Madam Maxine said.
"Wait wait wait. Why do I have to compete? It's a Triwizard Tournament, as in tri meaning three. There should only be three champions, why do I have to compete even if my name came out?" I interrupted.
"The goblet enacts a binding magical contract. If you do not compete you are at risk to lose your magic." Crouch answered.
'So that's what that feeling was. I can't say I just resisted it because I'm a Campione, that would lead to even more problems. Without revealing I'm a Campione, I can't think of anyway to say I wasn't bound.'
"I don't know why Potter is pretending he didn't enter his name. We all know he wants the glory and wants to take it from the more deserving students." Snape said.
"Be careful Snape. You're pretty close to those torches on the wall, one spark and your whole head is going up in flames with all that grease in your hair." I sniped back.
I could see Cedric cover his mouth to hide his laugh, while Fleur had a small amused smirk on her face.
"Getting back on track, Harry you will have to compete as the fourth champion." Dumbledore said.
"Let me get this straight. You all decided to use a goblet that could enact binding magical contracts at the risk of someone's magic, then didn't protect it besides an easily passed age line. Wow Dumbledore, you're 0 for 3 on protecting things, I'm beginning to suspect you are incompetent."
"Mr. Potter you will not speak to the Headmaster like that." McGonagall said sternly.
"I think I will. I'm being forced into a tournament due to his sheer incompetence, and he's focused on that instead of figuring out who put me in this tournament. I'll speak to him how I damn well please."
"Right on lad, you're asking the right questions. Someone entered you into this tournament, probably expecting you to die." Moody chimed in.
"Professor Moody, don't encourage him." McGonagall said.
"Can we please get back on track now?" Crouch said.
Nobody spoke up, so he continued. "Now the first task will take place on the 24th of November. It will be a test of courage, so be prepared."
With that said, people began to filter out of the room. I heard Madam Maxine say "It does not matter if Hogwarts has two champions, we will still win."
"Oh yeah, let's clear something up right now. I'm not a Hogwarts champion, that's Cedric. If I'm participating in this stupid tournament I'm doing it as someone independent."
"But Harry..." Dumbledore tried, but I interrupted him.
"No, why would I want to represent Hogwarts when I shouldn't be in this tournament in the first place." I said and walked out of the room, making my way through the halls and heading back to the dorms.
Entering, I found pretty much the entirety of Gryffindor waiting for me.
"There he is, the man of the hour." Dean said.
"So how'd you do it?" Seamus asked me.
"I didn't enter my name into the goblet." I answered.
"Sure you didn't. Come off it, you wanted to steal all the glory again." Ron said, stepping forward.
Dragging my hand across my face, I thought 'I don't want to deal with this stupidity right now.'
"Ignoring the fact that I didn't enter my name, what do you mean by again?" I said.
"You wouldn't have survived the traps to get to the stone without me. Without me you wouldn't have beaten the basilisk, but no, you get all the glory." Ron said.

I walked up the stairs, going towards the Room all the while fuming. 'How is everyone here this stupid? They think I would put myself in this tournament willingly. And Ron, where does he get off saying he did everything. Hermione thinks I entered myself too.'
I was annoyed the entire way as I entered the Room, with it being configured into a bedroom. Too annoyed to even try to get some work done, I went to bed straight away, hoping to sleep off my irritation, although I didn't have high hopes.

My "family", in the loosest sense of the word, thought it would be a good idea to go on a trip to Italy.
