Safira is an ordinary teenage girl. As a grade 8 student, she was shocked to know that the greek gods and goddesses are real. And the most shocking, one of them was her lover in her past life and that is Zeus.

Wilson Ignis was just an ordinary guy, albeit he did have ADHD and Dyslexia. However, he had know idea how his life would change, and how he became a legendary figure in both a mortal and mythological standpoint.

The next moment, Cao Cao opened his eyes and found himself back in the temple.

I am back.

Cao Cao turned to look at the statue of Osiris again and recalled back to a conversation slightly before he returned.

"There is another thing I wish to ask of you."

"What is it, Holy Spear Wielder?"

"How does the Underworld work exactly? When humans pass on."

"When humans die, their souls will return to their resting place. That differs between every mythology. For example, those who believe in our Egyptian Mythology will return to the Duat while those who believe in Buddhism will return to theirs. Likewise for the Greek Mythology. Every Underworld is ruled by different Gods and Transcendental Beings. While I rule over the afterlife in the Egyptian Mythology, other Gods rule over theirs. The Greek Mythology has quite a few; such as Tartarus, Erubus, Nyx and Hades. From the Norse Mythology, we have Hel while Great King Enma is associated with Buddhism and the Hindu Mythology. Angra Mainyu is also a God related to Zoroastrianism."

"I see. So that's how it works. Then, let me ask you next, before you send me back. Does the legend of the River Styx works?"

Upon hearing that, Osiris put on a serious expression.

"You are not planning to...--"

Osiris countered his face as he started speaking.

"The River Styx. A Principal River in the Greek Mythology that forms a border between the Underworld and the land of the living, named after the Goddess Styx, daughter of Oceanus and Tethys. Including the Acheron (river of pain), the Lethe (river of forgetfulness), the Phlegethon (river of fire), and the Cocytus (river of wailing), they converge at the center of the Underworld. The Gods from the Greek Mythology use it to swear oaths upon and originated when Zeus declared that every oath would be sworn upon Styx for allying with the Gods against the Titans. But, what you want to know is not this right?"

"That's right. As a God of the Underworld yourself, I want to know whether it actually works."

"Achilles, the son of Peleus and Thetis, known as the greatest of all Greek heroes who took part in the Trojan war. According to myths and stories composed long after the Iliad, Thetis was extraordinarily concerned about her baby son's mortality. Some say that the sea-goddess tried anointing him with ambrosia every night and slowly burning away his immortality by the fireside. After that, she bathed her son as an infant, in the waters of the River Styx, which were said to confer the invulnerability of the Gods, in hopes of making him immortal. And, he did. However, she gripped him tightly by the foot as she dipped him into the river–so tightly that the water never touched his heel. As a result, Achilles was invulnerable everywhere but there. That is where the legend of Achilles heel came from. Certainly, the River Styx will allow one to gain a body that could rival a God. Many of those who try this method however, only meet death as a result. Furthermore, you are only a human descended from a hero. Even if you blessed with the Holy Spear, your body may not be able to handle the River Styx. No doubt, it would lead to certain death--"

"But, if you do manage to survive the ordeals of the Styx, your body would have the same physique of a God. Even if you can't become a God, your body will have the strength of one."

"That's all I need to know--"

"After all, I don't wish to become a God."

Cao Cao finally left the temple.

However, before he could do anything else, he needed to settle the issue that Osiris gave him in exchange for returning him back.

Suddenly--

With his keen senses regained after getting back his past memories, Cao Cao sensed something approaching him at a very fast rate.

Enemy attack!

A black shadow leaped out in an ambush.

Cao Cao took a back step while a beam of light streaked out from the mouth of his Spear.

The first and second slash carved up the black shadow roughly into pieces.

'beshari,' with a wet sound, the thing that was cut by Cao Cao fell on the surface.

"...What is this?"

Cao Cao spontaneously groaned when he saw the dead body of the thing that attacked him.

The thing that was ceasing to function there was a grotesque organism.

If he expressed it strongly, the organism was a lot of tentacles that were bundled together like a bouquet of flowers. The tentacles were attached with countless suction pads for the sake of capturing its prey. The root of this thing was a bloodshot eyeball, rough breaths were released from it's tusked lips.

It resembled an octopus, but it looks slimy in pink color, it's size was around the size of one person. It was liked a byproduct of a failed experiment.

Could this be...

Cao Cao had a faint clue on the origins of this unknown creature.

The existence of such an eerie organism--

Cthulhu Mythos...

Strictly speaking, Cthulhu Mythos is an [original setting] that was created by an author named Lovecraft for the purpose of spinning a story.

Lovecraft's fellow authors also shared this and wrote their work using this setting, the world view of this work was developed rapidly, finally it turned into a large scale systematic world that was fitting to be called a Mythology. 

However, in the end, it was supposed to be nothing more than a setting for the purpose of literary creation.

This was because the soul of the world was shaped by the magnified human's mind, only Gods whose existence could possibly be interpreted by humans are allowed to exist.

Someone had chosen to artificially create such a being while knowing it's origins...

All the clues pointed to one thing.

The Longinus that was said to be able to create countless monsters with it's ability and the creatures were created based on the user's imagination.

Now that the dynasty was established, everything was waiting to be rebuilt!
Although North Liang had millions of miles of fertile land, 90% of it was desolate.
It was because of the desolation that there were not many people in this place, and the distance between the cities was not very great.
This was why Jerry's army could reach other cities in a day.
According to Jerry's plan, he would connect all the cities.
Then, he would organize the people of the kingdom to clear the land and build more cities!
Of course, he couldn't hand all this work to Metis.
Hence, Jerry was prepared to summon more people.
When he took down River City and Peace City, Jerry had taken down a total of ten cities!
Of which, eight were small cities and two were medium cities!
That was fourteen summoning chances! With such a huge fortune in his hands, Jerry was naturally filled with confidence.
Even if the Sky Dynasty was in a desolate state, waiting to be built, Jerry was sure that after these fourteen summoning opportunities were used, the Sky Dynasty would definitely take off.
"Roster, I going to summon!"
Although there wasn't even a royal palace, the Sky Dynasty had already been established. Jerry was the emperor of the Sky Dynasty, and as long as he was in the Empire Era, he was the ruler of the place.
He also had to maintain the dignity of an emperor, because the five million people of North Liang were all looking up on him.
"Begin summoning!"
[ Congratulations, Master, you have triggered five consecutive draws. You have obtained the mortals and Demigods: Manto, Diomedes, Daedalus, Chiron, Epeius! ]

The first two summons stunned Jerry.
Five consecutive draws?
Jerry got a rough idea from the Roster.
It turned out that when multiple summons were used together, there was an opportunity to summon directly from a group, such as groups of mortals, demigods, or gods.
They were divided into three groups.
Gods were divided into second-generation gods, third-generation gods, fourth-generation gods, and so on.
According to the information stored in his mind, Jerry learned the identities of these ten gods or demigods.
Manto: the daughter of Therese (blind prophet of Thebes) in ancient western mythology, with some prophetic power.
Diomedes: one of the male heroes of Ancient Greece. A hero of the Greek allied forces in the Trojan War. The monarch of Argos. He was helped by Athena in the war and repeatedly defeated the Trojans and won major victories.
Daedalus: Greek mythological figure, son of Matignon, great-grandson of Eriktes, father of Icarus, also an Erich, a great artist, architect, and sculptor; his most famous work was a labyrinth built for Minos, king of Crete, so later people used his name to refer to the labyrinth.
Chiron: the name of a centaur in Ancient Greek mythology. Don't get him mixed up with Charon. Chiron was the son of Kronos and Philulla. Kronos turned Philulla into a mare and mated with her to give birth to Chiron, so Chiron's image was that of a centaur. This origin made him unlike the other centaurs born of Ixion and cloud, who were savage and cruel. He was kind, fair, and hospitable, which also made him a teacher of many Greek heroes. A wise man in ancient Greek mythology.
Epeius: a hero of Greek mythology, who joined the Greek allied forces in the Trojan War and was not only a famous boxer, but also a skilled craftsman who built the Trojan horse with the help of Athena.
Circe: Greek goddess of witchcraft and sorceress, a famous sorceress who lived in seclusion on the island of Eaea. She was the daughter of Helios, the Sun God, and Perseis, one of the oceanic goddesses. She was the sister of Aegis who was the king of Colchis, and the aunt of the Sorceress Medea.
Adonis: the god of spring plants, a handsome man from a royal family, with features as delicate as flowers, which made all the people and things in the world pale in front of him. Adonis was a god who came from the Near East and rose from the dead every year, forever young; as the god of spring plants, he is a god worshipped by women.
Asclepius: a physician. He was a son of Apollo, the god of light, and Coronis, the princess of Thessaly, and, some say he was a son of Apollo and Clemene. He was the Greek god of medicine.
Hymenaios: the god of weddings, son of Dionysus and Aphrodite, the goddess of love. He was in charge of weddings.
Eileithyia: goddess of midwifery, daughter of Zeus and Hera.
Jerry was very satisfied with these two combo summons.
Now that he had a kingdom, he'd not only need people to defend the country and attack other countries, but also gods who could help him manage the kingdom and make it prosper.
Therefore, Jerry was very satisfied with these summons.
But it was not over yet. There were still four more summoning opportunities.
[ Congratulations, Master, you have triggered two consecutive draws. You have summoned the gods Hermes and Dionysus! ]
Jerry was stunned. Hermes? Dionysus? ! Weren't they sons of Zeus?!
He was astonished.
When he first summoned Athena, Hercules, and Metis, he had thought he had used up all his luck.
"What good luck."
Jerry couldn't help but sigh.
At this moment, Jerry's mind also received the information about these two gods.


Jerry traversed across worlds and arrived in a Beast Summoning era. In this world, everyone could summon their own pets. Darkness was looming, and the world was in turmoil. Relying on the power of their summons, many shrines plundered the resources at every corner of the world like tyrants. But when everyone else was summoning adorable pets that could help them in battle, Jerry discovered that his summoned pets were a little different. Other people's pets are all kinds of beasts, but Jerry summoned gods from Greek mythology! King of the Gods, Zeus, “Master! I, Zeus, is at your command!” Athena, “I will fulfil all your requests, master!” Poseidon, “I will conquer this sea in the name of the master!” In constant summons, step after step, Jerry became the supreme ruler of this world!


When they took a look at what was on the other side, the three were extremely surprised.

"What is this?" Hermione asked. 

The room was pitch black and the three were hesitant to go inside. 

"What if this is a hole?" Kristine asked. "We're going to die from the fall," 

"I don't think we have a choice," Chris said. "This is the only door we found since we've been stuck here,"

The two were still reluctant to go inside. 

"I'll go inside," Chris said. "If I fall then I fall. If we don't go in, we'll eventually go crazy from just walking without a set destination," 

Before the girls could say anything, Chris went inside the room. 

"It's not a hole," Chris said. "Just come inside," 

Hermione and Kristine looked at each other and slowly went inside the room. The door quickly closed behind them and when Hermione and Kristine both went to find the door, they couldn't. The three now were surrounded in complete darkness. 

"Great! The door disappeared and we have no light as well," Kristine said. "See if we can use mag-"

Before Kristine could finish, the room started to change. Torches started to appear from the sides which started to illuminate the room. 

There was now a marble floor with limestone round pillars around the three. In front of the three was a huge limestone statue of a naked middle-aged man being held up by chains.

"Whoa, what is all this?" Chris asked as he started to walk around the room. Aside from the torches, statue, and pillars, there was nothing else in the room. 

Suddenly the diary in Hermione's arm started to vibrate.

"Chris! Kristine! The diary is reacting to something," Hermione said. 

"Quickly open the diary," Chris said. Hermione opened the diary and on the page after the riddle, words started to form. 

Release the chains of the one that saved humanity. Give freedom to the one that has suffered never-ending pain for millenniums. Shout his name loudly to free him. However, do it fast as today will be the last for this great hero of fire.

"Great hero of fire?" Kristine asked. "That could mean anyone. There were many figures in both history and mythology that discovered or created fire,"

"The work looks very familiar," Hermione said. "Not the statue itself, but the material and the looks of it look very similar," 

"Greek statues!" Chris shouted. "This looks like something the Greeks would make. Limestone is also material that ancient Greek used to use a lot," 

"So is this supposed to be a king or an important historical figure?" Kristine asked. 

"No, Greeks usually made statues of their gods so I think we're dealing with Greek mythology here," Hermione said. "However, there's so much mythology and I don't know that much about it. All I know are only the names of the big Gods and some stories like Pandora, King Midas, and Hercules," 

"Then this might be Hephaestus. He's the god of fire I believe," Chris said. "I'll shout his name," 

Chris walked to the front of the statue and was now only a couple feet away. 

"Hephaestus!" Chris shouted. However, nothing happened.

"It was wrong?!" Chris exclaimed confusedly as he went back to where Hermione and Kristine was. "But there's no other god of fire," 

"Chris I don't think it's as simple of just a god of fire," Hermione said. "There has to be more to this man's story. Otherwise, it would just say god instead of hero,"

"I don't know anyone heroes in Greek mythology that could control fire. Do you know any Kristine?"

"I think I've heard of one," Kristine said. "Mother once told me about Hercules and his 12 quests. She didn't tell me much because she said a lot of it was too scary for me, but she told about a story where there was a titan named Atlas who held up the sky without any help. Hercules asked Atlas to get him a golden apple which was his quest and told Atlas that he would hold up the sky for him. Well blah blah blah, the story ends with Hercules tricking Atlas. Well when my mother used to tell me some stories like this, she would sometimes say random facts and in this case, she had a random fact for me. She said that Atlas had a brother named Prometheus who had something to do with fire, but I don't remember if that's him,"

"Prometheus..." Chris mumbled as he went deep into thought. 

'System can I buy a book on Greek mythology from the store?' Chris asked.

[As this is part of the Diary's riddle, you can only buy it for 15% of your Galleon. Would you like to purchase it?]

'Of course not, you scammer!' Chris exclaimed as he immediately pushed the thought aside. 'Alright I guess I'll have to try remembering,'

"Oh yes! I remember Prometheus!" Hermione exclaimed. 

"You do?!" Chris shouted excitedly. 

"Yeah, it was something I read for a bit of fun. I forgot about him since I read it so long ago. Prometheus was also a titan who was good at tricking people. He also made humans on Zeus' order and started to like humans since he didn't really even like the gods in the first place. Well basically, he tricked every gods and goddesses and stole Hephaestus' fire and gave it to man. He was punished by Zeus and was chained to a rock while eagles ate up his insides. I stopped reading after that," Hermione said.

"He gave humanity fire which is the best technology mankind had. This should count as being a hero," Chris said. "Alright I'll shout Prometheus,"

Chris Kim was a Potterhead. While he was reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows for the 15th time, he felt the force sucking him inside the book. He realized he was in the Harry Potter World with the Wizardry System. How will he change the Harry Potter world with his knowledge?

Rumble...

The whole dungeon shook. Many adventurers were baffled by this occurrence. Some petrified, some fled the seen, but the dare devils stayed in anticipation.

Sarah: Why do i have a really bad feeling about it...

The rest of the members were in total agreement about this feeling. They nodded their heads in unison and raced towards the exit of this dungeon.

rumble...

The shaking of the dungeon never ceased for even a moment; this made even the bravest of the daredevil's heart waver, even those outside the dungeon were growing restless. 

Emyrs and most of the adventurers made it out safely. Even though they were technically safe, the restlessness still lingers freshly behind their minds.

rumble... rumble...

with each succession the dungeon shook more violently, eventually affecting even the nearby towns and cities. 

The news spread like wildfire. The main topic of discussion would change to this concerning news. Many speculation and rumors were created in this short time span. 

Eventually one would be the centre of attention- a monster outbreak. The restlessness had mutated into a new form. Fear. 

The quake's roars echoed the entire province of Chetvert and a small portion of Krist, but after a tense hour and sweaty palms, it finally faded. It was a brief moment for them to catched their breath. In the end, everyone knew the terror never ended, it had just begun.

Adventurers, including Emyrs and his team, scrammed back to the nearest city (capital) to defend it. They knew they had no chance of winning fighting out in the open. 

One day passed by, the morning sun shine enveloped the earth and the soldiers along side the adventurers had their tension grow to a climax. They knew today the army of monsters would arrived. It is the uncertainty of the arrival of army that made them feel vulnerable. 

Not long after, black dots started to fill the the skyline, like a flash flood, rushed towards the capital. The war had begun...

The enemy was the once timid and patient shadow lurker. It seems their impatience had taken hold of them. Mindlessly attacking the soldiers and adventurers, scouring for the young and devouring helpless men. 

young boy: (holding a knife, screamed on top of his lungs) Get away from my mother!

The shadow lurker muched down on its tasty meal, ignoring the boys presents. 

young boy: (tears started to swell up in his eyes) Get away from my mother!! 

The young boy wasn't able to watch the monster consume his mother's flesh any longer; although he was trembling greatly, he charged straight at it with resolution.

The spider felt the wrath of the child; it slapped him with one of its legs (#getslapped). The child flew into the air and crash down into the ground. His shoulder rubbed against the ground, the friction caused his shirt to tear and his skin to rip. 

The child, bruised and tattered, wanted to flee out of this misery but he couldn't. He was locked on by the terrifying humongous spider that slowly creeped up to him. The monster tormented his mind with its obnoxious figure: long slick legs, thick saliva and a pair of blade like fangs.

After a quick struggle from the boy, the boy finally gave up, fully petrified like a medusa's statue. 

The shadow lurker inspects for a moment before pouncing onto the boy to fill the unsatisfied appetite. 

However, before the monster was able to taste the child's blood... Bang! It has already lost its own.

The thunderous sound snapped the young boy back to reality. "Such sound could only be a thunder strike from the god, Zeus!" thought the boy. He started to prostrate.

Emyrs: Right, but not quite... 

Boy: (sprang up like a spring) Were you guys the one that saved me?

Emyrs: Yeah, my name is Emyrs.

Natsumi: That's right, you don't need to be afraid anymore!

Boy: Ah... (bowed down) thank you. I don't know how I can repay you guys.

Emyrs: Boy, what is your name?

Boy: Henri... Henri Lester

Emyrs: What a fine name, suited for a future great leader.

The boy's eyes gleam like a gem, who knew the simple words Emyrs said would end up changing the boy's life. Henri Lester, a name that would later resound throughout the eons as the wisest and prosperous king the world has ever met.

(I'm using gods and goddesses from greek as it is very notorious. Although most of you would be more familiar with Thor, he won't be coming up anytime soon in this book even though he is a deity, which suits the false god identity (half-man and half-god). That is because his origins are from Norse mythology, not greek mythology.

The reason why I didn't use Roman mythology even though it is very similar to greek mythology it is not exactly the same, for example: from Roman = greek

Neptune = Poseidon,
Jupiter = Zeus
Mars = Ares 
Cupid = Eros

and so on; I am also more familiar with Greek mythology, thus please don't get confused with why some gods are not used XD)

The Creation Theory

In the beginning there was only Chaos. Then out of the void appeared Erebus, the unknowable place where death dwells, and Night. All else was empty, silent, endless, dark. Then, Love was born bringing along the beginning of order. From Love emerged Light, followed by Gaea, the earth.

Erebus slept with Night, eventually giving birth to Ether, the heavenly light, and to Day, the earthly light. Then, Night alone created Doom, Fate, Death, Sleep, Dreams, Nemesis, and all things that dwell in the darkness haunting mankind.

Meanwhile, Gaea alone gave birth to Uranus, the sky. Uranus became Gaea's husband, surrounding her on all sides. Together, they produced the three Cyclopes, the three Hecatoncheires, and twelve Titans.

However, Uranus was a cruel father and husband. He hated the Hecatoncheires and imprisoned them by pushing them into the hidden places of the earth, Gaea's womb. This angered Gaea and she plotted against Uranus. She made a flint sickle and tried to get her children to attack Uranus. All were too afraid, except the youngest Titan, Cronus.

Gaea and Cronus set up an ambush of Uranus as he lay with Gaea at night. Cronus grabbed his father and castrated him with the sickle, throwing the severed genitals into the ocean. It is unclear as to what happened to Uranus afterwards; he either died, withdrew from the earth, or exiled himself to Italy. As he departed, he promised that Cronus and the Titans would be punished. From the blood that was spilled on the earth due to his castration, emerged the Giants, the Ash Tree Nymphs, and the Erinnyes. From the sea foam that was produced when his genitals fell in the ocean, emerged Aphrodite.

Cronus became the next ruler. He imprisoned the Cyclopes and the Hecatoncheires in Tartarus. He married his sister Rhea, and had many children. He ruled for many ages; however, Gaea and Uranus both had prophesied that Cronus would be eventually overthrown by a son. To avoid this, Cronus swallowed all of his children as they were born. Rhea was angry at the treatment of the children and plotted against Cronus. When it was time to give birth to her sixth child, Rhea hid herself, then she left the child to be raised by nymphs. To conceal her act she wrapped a stone in swaddling cloths and passed it off as the baby to Cronus, who swallowed it.

This child was Zeus. He grew into a handsome youth at the island of Crete. He consulted Metis on how to defeat Cronus. She prepared a drink for Cronus designed to make him vomit the other children. Rhea convinced Cronus to accept his son and Zeus was allowed to return to Mount Olympus as Cronus's cupbearer, giving him the opportunity to serve Metis' potion to Cronus. The plan work perfectly and the other five children emerged out of Cronus. As gods, they were unharmed and thankful to their youngest brother, they made him their leader.

Cronus was yet to be defeated though. He and the Titans, except Prometheus, Epimetheus, and Oceanus, fought to retain their power; this led to the War between the Titans and the Olympians called Titanomachy. Atlas became their leader in battle and it looked for some time as though they would win and put the young gods down. However, Zeus was cunning; he went to Tartarus and freed the Cyclopes and the Hecatoncheires. Prometheus joined Zeus as well. He returned to battle with his new allies; the Cyclopes provided Zeus with lightning bolts for weapons; the Hecatoncheires were armed with boulders, waiting in an ambush. At the right time, Zeus retreated drawing the Titans into the Hecatoncheires's ambush, who rained down hundreds of boulders with such a fury that the Titans thought the mountains were falling on them. They ran away, leaving Zeus victorious.

Zeus exiled the Titans who had fought against him into Tartarus, with the exception of Atlas, who being the leader of the opposing force, was punished to hold the universe on his shoulders.

However, even after this victory, Zeus was not safe. Gaea, angry that her children had been imprisoned, gave birth to her last child, Typhon. Typhon was the deadliest monster in Greek mythology and was known as the "Father of All Monsters". He was so fearsome that most of the gods fled; however, Zeus faced the monster and flinging his lighting bolts was able to kill it. Typhon was buried under Mount Etna in Sicily.

Much later, Zeus faced a final challenge set by the Giants. They went so far as to attempt to invade Mount Olympus, piling mountain upon mountain in an effort to reach the top. Nevertheless, the gods had already grown strong, and with the help of Heracles, the Giants were subdued and killed.

Perhaps the most confusing aspect of this myth is the extensive use of names that seem difficult to non-native Greek speakers to pronounce. This sometimes causes frustration and loss of track when trying to establish the continuing relationship between these characters in the birth of the world. So, please be patient and try to associate these names with the characters and events that took place...

It all started when Chaos, Gaea (Earth) and Eros started sleeping with each other, leading to the Gods. So, in Greek mythology, the creation of the world starts with the creation of the different classes of Gods. In this instance, the term 'gods' refers to the characters that ruled the Earth (without necessarily possessing any divine attributes) until the 'real' Gods, the Olympians, came. So after this brief introduction, the next step to examine is the creation of the Gods (which really is the same thing, it's just that when you are interested in the creation of the world, you look at the very beginning of the creation of the Gods, while, to examine the creation of the Gods, you have to look a little deeper).

Hesiod's Theogony is one of the best introductions we have on the creation of the world. According to Hesiod, three major elements took part in the beginning of creation; Chaos, Gaea, and Eros. It is said that Chaos gave birth to Erebos and Night, while Uranus and Oceanus emerged from Gaea. Each child had a specific role, and Uranus' duty was to protect Gaea. Later, the two became a couple and
were the first Gods to rule the world. They had twelve children known as the Titans, three known as the Cyclopes, and three Hecatoncheires, the hundred-handed Giants.

The situation from here on however wasn't very peaceful. Uranus was a cruel father, afraid that he might be overthrown by his children; thus, he decided that his children belonged deep inside Gaea, hidden from himself and his kingdom. Gaea, infuriated with this arrangement, agreed at first, but later chose to help her children. She devised a plan to rid her children from their tyrant father, and supplied her youngest child Cronus with a sickle. She then arranged a meeting for the two, in which Cronus cut off his father's genitals. The seed of Uranus which fell into the sea gave birth to Aphrodite, while from his blood were created the Fates, the Giants, and the Meliad nymphs.

Cronus succeeded his father in the throne and married his sister Rhea. He also freed his siblings and shared his kingdom with them. Oceanus was given the responsibility to rule over the sea and rivers, while Hyperion guided the Sun and the stars. When Cronus and Rhea started having their own children, Cronus was possessed by the very same fears that haunted his father.

Cronus eventually decided that the best way to deal with this problem was to swallow all his children.
Of course, Rhea was very displeased and devised a plan to free her children. She managed to hide her youngest child, Zeus, from Cronus, by tricking him into swallowing a stone wrapped in infant clothes instead of the baby himself.

The great Zeus was brought up by the Nymphs on Mount Dikte in the island of Crete. In order to cover the sound of his crying, the Kouretes danced and clashed their shields. As Zeus entered manhood, he gained the strength few would dare dream of. He overthrew his father, and freed his siblings from his father's stomach, taking the throne and the rule of the universe.

HUMAN RACE

According to the myths, the immortal Gods thought that it would be interesting to create beings similar to them, but mortal, in order to inhabit the earth. As soon as the mortals were created, Zeus, the leader of the Gods, ordered the two sons of the Titan Iapetus, Prometheus and Epimetheus, to give these beings various gifts in the hope that the mortals would evolve into interesting beings, able to amuse the Gods.

So the two brothers started to divide the gifts among themselves in order to give them to the earth's inhabitants. Epimetheus asked his brother to give out the gifts first; he gave the gift of beauty to some animals, agility on other animals, strength in others, and agility and speed to some. However, he left the human race defenseless, with no natural weapons in this new kingdom. Prometheus, who liked the human race, upon realizing what had happened, promptly distributed his own gifts to mankind. He stole reason from Athena, giving it to man. He then stole fire from the gates of Hephaestus, to keep them warm. Prometheus then became the protector of the human race, and shared with it all the knowledge he had.

This new situation angered Zeus, for fire until now had been a gift only reserved for the Gods and he did not want the human race to resemble the Gods. Zeus's next step was to punish Prometheus. And a heavy punishment it was. Zeus chained Prometheus on a peak in the Caucasus, which was believed to be at the end of the world. He had an eagle eat his liver every single day for thirty years. At the end of each day, Prometheus' liver would grow back again, so he would have to suffer all over again. After thirty years, Heracles (Hercules) released Prometheus from his nightmare.

OLYMPIANS

The term Olympians refers to the twelve Gods of Mount Olympus, which is located in the northern central part of Greece. This mountain was believed to be sacred throughout ancient times, and considered the highest point on earth. These Gods that ruled on Mount Olympus, also ruled the lives of all mankind. Each and every single God (or Goddess) had their own character and domain. Gods in mythology were very human like. They had the strengths and weaknesses of mortals (as we know them today). truly made to represent each and every side of human nature. They also supported justice, as seen from their own point of view.

Gods even had children with mortals, which resulted in demigods like Heracles. The most amazing observation is how the traits of the Gods expressed human nature in its complete form. Strength, fear, unfaithfulness, love, admiration, beauty, hunting, farming, education; there was a God for every human activity and expression. These Gods weren't just ideal figures. they were beings with their own limitations. They expressed anger, jealousy and joy, just like humans. Each God ruled their own realm, apart from Zeus, who was omnipotent and ruled all.
