Welcome to a small wedge of a book series is to come. This book isn't even the first in the timeline of things. However starting here can make sense of the laws and creatures encountered in other books. 

Some of the volumes could each be considered its own book. Some views of the same event aren't always written the same ways. Some chapters will inevitably be repeated in other books. As the series as a whole wasn't intended to be posted online originally. 

The concepts touched on are just imagination and theories in a sort of storyline. I mean no disrespect towards anyone. So enjoy with a side of salt and open mindedness. Discussion is how always to resolve misunderstanding.

            The spectres were an enemy unique to Laia, but such an argument could be made for the various types of monsters that Omens of Entropy generated by simply existing in any plane. It was safer to call them minions or mindless killers, but as a whole, Omens of Entropy only made a move when they felt directly threatened. 
            From what Idro could tell, the minions generated by Omens of Entropy were supposed to spur a civilisation to progress on. At the same time, it also acted as a time limit; after an allotted amount of time, they would move to attack. More importantly, however, once enough progress was made, the plane's Omen of Entropy would feel threatened, and then move to massacre the plane's inhabitants as a whole.
            Overcome any bottlenecks in progress, or be destroyed. 
            Fortunately for Laia, the Omen of Entropy wasn't making a move for the second reason. Rather, the Grey Tower's existence itself was making the Omen of Entropy here feel threatened; for that reason, it was going to destroy the Grey Tower.
            "What are your thoughts on this, End?" Idro asked, a mischievous glint in his eye.
            "Unless you don't want the Salvation Stars to be the ones fighting the Omen of Entropy, I recommend that you intervene and scare it away," End replied, his words indifferent. "A lower concept trying to attack a construct of a higher concept is no different from throwing an egg against a stone."
            "I do recall that my attacks are extraordinarily potent to Omens of Entropy, though," Idro replied. "Should I still make a move?"
            "For the sake of a worthy Judgement, yes." End's presence retreated from his mind a moment later. "You can, however, choose to disregard your own advice and kill it."
            "Yeah, no. I'll do it properly. Might as well leave one hell of an impression on those superheroes too, while I'm at it." Idro extended his senses once more, watching in silence as the Omen of Entropy drew closer and closer. It took the form of a woman, or rather, the entity had taken over the body of a woman to operate. Like him, the Omen of Entropy also had the superpower of destruction; anything she touched would disintegrate into ashes. 
            More importantly, however, the Omen of Entropy was flying on her own power. Instead of using a jetpack like most other superheroes, she was capable of unsupported Flight. Such an ability wasn't something that came from Laia; it was something that was part of a package deal called 'Omen of Entropy'. 
            Air shrieked as the Omen of Entropy came into view, and the supersonic howls that followed in her wake drew the attention of every single superhero present. 
            "That's…the Witch of Destruction?" Bloodied Arrow clutched his Daybreak Spear tightly. "What's she doing here?"
            "Prepare for battle! Her target seems to be the Grey Tower! Protect it!"
            "Reinforcements are inbound; we just need to hold on for a few minutes!"
            Bedlam followed as roaring sounds filled the air. The superheroes had taken to the skies with their own jetpacks, but the comparison between the way they flew and the way the Omen of Entropy, whose supervillain name was 'Witch of Destruction', was a bit…
            Idro decided not to complete that particular thought. Willing a box of popcorn to appear, he reappeared on the roof of the Grey Tower and sat down. He had seen the individual performances of the superheroes who had tried their hand at the Grey Tower, but there was also something to be said about group fights. After all, since ancient times, the most basic foundation of successful strategies was essentially surrounding a lone enemy and beating it until it died.
            All kinds of superpowers began to manifest, as the superheroes present prepared for combat. They had split up into two groups — fighters who preferred battle up close, as well as those who stayed at the back. Idro didn't quite fancy the chances of the former group, though.
            Lights streaked through the sky as the superheroes unleashed their superpowers. Some of those lights surrounded the other superheroes to strengthen them, but most of them were directed at the incoming streak of dark light that stood out in the blue sky. 
            Thunderclaps echoed out above the Lima Ocean, and the various incoming attacks turned into flowers of radiance, casting the entire world into a dazzling white light. Idro, amongst everyone else, was the only one who could see what the Omen of Entropy did — with a single wave of her hand, she had wiped out every single attack headed her way.
            She had clearly gained some mastery over her superpowers, since she could destroy anything without even needing to go close. Idro was relatively certain that he could do that, but there was no motivation for him to actually learn something that was effectively a lower-level application of his own powers. That said, that level of mastery was enough to probably wipe everyone else here out of existence, so Idro simply generated a layer of protection around those people.
            It would not stand up to a full-powered strike…well, the maximum application of his will in Laia anyway — that was not an exploitable loophole — but it would protect these poor fellows from meeting an untimely death. Idro was pretty much the culprit that had drawn over the Omen of Entropy, so any deaths that resulted from this wouldn't make him feel good.
            "Witch of Destruction, stop!"
            "If you destroy that tower, we'll hunt you down to the ends of the world!"
            "Don't even think of destroying a single brick!"
            Another volley of attacks swept outwards, forcing the Omen of Entropy to stop once more. Idro had already seen her appearance from afar, but up close, he could only say that she looked breathlessly beautiful…although this was the default for Omens of Entropy. No matter what gender they were, or whether they were bipedals or not, the Omens of Entropy always had a flawless appearance.
            After all, looking beautiful or handsome was a survival trait that had been passed down through the generations, a near-constant in every single universe. This trait was seamlessly replicated, and it was incredibly effective — some of the Salvation Stars had been killed by Omens of Entropy through deception and their own lust.
            No one said that Salvation Stars had been be morally upright characters, after all. 
            "Instead of thinking about superfluous things like this, I suggest that you do something about the Omen of Entropy, before it commits suicide via the Grey Tower," said End. 
            "Right." Idro closed his eyes and reached out mentally to the Witch of Destruction. For a moment, her desire to destroy, which was the default state of mind for all Omens of Entropy, flickered. Idro could sense a living soul inside that amalgamation of chaos, one that had been in stasis for around a few thousand years, and he felt some pity for that soul.
            It was the first time he'd seen an Omen of Entropy that hadn't fully awakened yet. The sight of an aged soul in stasis was a painful one to look at; at least, Idro had ample experiences in being alive. 
            His hand reached out without him ordering it to, and power was gathering around his hand when End's voice rang out.
            "Idro, what are you trying to do?"
            "I'm just…pitying the person inside," Idro replied. 
            "You must not interfere," End replied, his voice colder than Idro had ever heard it before. "Doing so will have…"
            "Unforeseen effects on the Judgement." Idro bowed his head. "I know. But…look at her. She's pitiful. Unlike you, she can't even think, or have her mind. How long has she been in there already? Thousands of years. Do you really not feel pity for her?"
            "If I did, I wouldn't have been able to destroy universes," End replied. "I am unfeeling. You of all people should know. And if you free here, your plans may very well go awry. Remember your task, host mine. To train the Salvation Stars into a force capable of revitalising their universe and to overcome a destined end." 
            "I know my task, but I don't think awakening a sleeping soul will do anything to it." Idro took a deep breath. "And do you really not sympathise with someone who was effectively you before I became your host? This is someone who has been sleeping for entire eras, deprived of the ability to live and learn. Wasn't this…you?"
            His words seemed to strike a chord with End, who fell silent after a while. Making use of this lapse, Idro reached out once more with his mind. The Omen of Entropy trembled visibly, to the confusion of everyone present, and in that instant of vulnerability, a hail of attacks slammed into her once more. 
            Blood flew, but that was enough stimulation for the Omen of Entropy to break away from Idro. A piercing scream wreaked havoc in the superheroes' ears, and as they collectively reeled, the Witch of Destruction fled, leaving black trails across the sky.
            The Grey Tower really didn't need their help, so it was great that no casualties had happened. After hearing the superheroes chatter on for a few more moments, Idro was about to leave when someone pointed at him.
            "On the roof! The guy who wounded the Witch of Destruction is there!"


May 2002
Summers in our city are always very harsh but that summer of 2002 was a class apart. It was month of may and we were already feeling as if heat will kill us. After a month long spring vacations that were in month of april instead of march, we had rejoined university and may be that was why weather change was affecting us more. 
" Raasti, have you got your freezed drinking water bottle please? " I asked her while removing the drops of sweats  from my forehead with my hand. Raasti had this habit during whole summer to bring freezed water bottles from home and then whole day we used to drink water from it by mixing it with  water from various water coolers in our campus which hardly ever provide us actual cold water. A lot of times we had complained to administration about these water coolers but they work properly for only few days and then again start their old behaviour. 
" Yes I have cold water with me, my dear Shakti.  Don't you know that I am hiding a a freezer in my bag " . Raasti said in a sarcastic tone. 
" Raaaasti , you always bring freeze water bottle from home , where is that ?"
" My dear that melted today in my bag and also my notes get moist and now I have to do the whole assignment again " she was informing  me in a sad tone .
" and you know how much effort I did while writing all those notes in class and now they have" She was continuously narrating her sad story.
" Raaaaasti, shuttt up "  I interrupted her.
"I am dying with thirst and you are here pondering over your written class notes. I will give you mine lecture notes but now please come with me . We are going to cafe that is outside university as I have just come back from university cafe and they are saying there is some electricity issue and they have no cold water bottles today and I am sure today is a bad day as since morning I am getting bad omens.  " 
'omens'. Raasti said with wide open eyes.
' yes , omens'. I said irritatingly.
' Since when you have started believing in omens , dear shakti'. Raasti asked in an interrogative tone and weirdest expressions on her face.
' Raasti, what's wrong in believing in omens. You know , today morning I just forget to pick first of all my water bottle . Then I asked my mother again last night that I also want to put some water  bottles in freezer at night  so that I can also carry freeze water bottle with me like you in the morning as simple cild water bottle get hot very soon and do you know , she refused this idea totally saying that drinking freeze water is not good for the health of throat and that I should also ask you to stop doing this. Then for the very first time I was about to miss my bus at my gate as I was not today standing outside waiting for bus as per my habit and uncle driver thought that may be I am on leave today. I mean what is this behaviour. That Anand , he daily comes late and daily uncle waits outside his highness home and if he wants, he will come out and if he does not, his servant will come out after many minutes to inform about his absence at home. And one day, just one day if I was not standing outside, uncle was leaving me. Now this is total injustice I am telling you'. I was giving a long speech which Raasti listened very carefully. 
' and why are you smiling Raasti' . her smile forced me to stop my speech.
' dear , first of all , you should  decide that which thing is bothering you much. Whether its aunty not allowing you to freeze water or its Anand who is getting protocol from driver.' This time now Raasti was laughing.
I rolled my eyes and without allowing her to say anything more, I dragged her with me towards university gate .
" Oh Raasti,  look there " He" is " . Raasti said in a loud tone. 
" Raasti who is "He" who is there" . I asked. 
" He" . She said
" You are saying " He" as if some celebrity is standing there Raasti. By the way who is there whom you are calling "he". I Said to her carelessly while I was enjoying cold drink sitting on a chair under a tree outside the cafe which was few minutes' walk away from our university and chilled mint margarita was travelling inside my gut and I could feel the comfort it was creating inside me in this hot noon of May and I was feeling as if I was in another world. 
" shakti , "He ".  She said again.
" Who " he" ?. I asked her again. 
" He, who is always asking you , have you come on bus today" Raasti said this and started laughing relentlessly .
I looked straight and there he was standing with a group of boys. And that was the very first day when I realized that his presence around me has now started affecting me.
I had finished my cold drink and at that moment his eyes met mine and what the hell.
'Why was I feeling awkward today. Why I want to avoid his gaze and at the first place why he is staring at me or may be he is looking towards this side and I am wrong at thinking that he is staring at me.' 
" Raasti , come on , we are getting late for our next class" I said to her in a hurry and started moving towards university gate  without even looking back for once. I had a strange feeling at that moment that his gaze was on me while I was walking away.
" Hey Shakti please wait , don't we have to buy cold water disposable bottles too from cafe" 
" No , we no more need them , we will attend class and then go home and we already have taken cold drinks. We don't need anymore." I said to her while making sure that I'm not looking back.



Shakti is a girl who always believe in working hard to get good academic grades. She never thought one day she will fall in love. Raasti is a girl who is an ideal best friend. together the both wrote the story of Anand and Shakti. A contemporary love story which is so much close to reality that everyone of us can relate with it.
