I hated the infirmary at Citadel. When you come in, there's no guarantee you're going to get what you came for, or, more accurately, what you were dragged in for. And when it came to Luke and me, that was more often than not. I talked to Luke and turns out it wasn't just me who was put in a higher age group for combat training. Luke was being paired with 13 and 14-year olds while I was being put up against 15 and 16-year olds here. I'm fucking 14 and they're kicking my ass. Street tricks can only keep me on my feet for so long before I'm overwhelmed in terms of size and training. Yes, maybe it did make sense. We were learning. Learning how to beat bullshit odds that we more than likely would face in an actual battlefield, but when it came to the present, it hurt like hell.
I managed to somehow get some attention at this infirmary even if that attention meant a rag, some ice, and instructions to hold it against the bruise covering most of my left shoulder. It looked like shit and hurt like shit too. Aside from the terrible service, there was some spirit awful décor fit for a 5-year-old: fire nation clowns hanging from the ceiling with fire coming out of their ears while holding red and black balloons. I've never been to the Fire Nation, but this décor wasn't doing the country any favors. I was situated in a small room with 3 other beds, all empty at the moment. Slow day. Guess the students were too busy focusing on Luke and me to turn their attention to one another. I heard the door to my small room open and saw who it was entering.
Well. I guess there's one good thing about the infirmary. "Wow." The nurse said upon seeing my mangled body on this same bed once again. "What does that make it? 5 days?"
"Aww. You counting the days now? How sweet, but it's been 11 days. I remember my last time here very well." I took a sword near a, well, important organ, and, needless to say, I've never seen a professional such as a nurse so flustered.
"Apparently you don't remember so well, but that's probably the case with half the times you're here. You took that hit to the side of your head, remember? Can't blame you if you don't."
"I thought they took me straight to the barracks."
"Nope. Got a good luck at you first. I'm the only reason your head doesn't hurt beyond belief right now. Speaking of which, how is your head."
"Hurting beyond all belief now that you bring it up." I said, giving her that same grin I always gave her when I was brought here."
"Aww. Poor baby." She said mockingly, giving me a fake pair of pouty eyes.
She was a nurse, yes, but young. Very young. I was pretty sure she wasn't a real nurse, but just a student in the combat medicine branch. Her name was Zaydi, and I could've sworn I saw her in passing before.
"So. When do you think I can get out?"
"Depends on your shoulder. How's it feel?"
I gave it a flex in a stretch. There was some lingering pain, yes, but more or less, it felt fine.
"Feels fine, doc. I'm ready to get back out there before I become institutionalized."
She chuckled. "It feels fine because I force fed you ginger tea while you were writhing in bed. It's amazing what the human body can resist when adrenaline is flowing through you. Once that wears off, though, well, the human body becomes quite the vulnerable thing. Tell me how you feel a few hours from now." She finished as she checked a few last items before heading out.
"Which time would you say was the worst?" I asked, hoping to get her to stay a while longer.
She closed the door in front of her, and moved back towards the center of the room, leaning on the wall, thinking. "Probably that first time where you and your buddies got dragged in here."
I had almost forgotten about that. Aden and Meeko. One dead, the other comatose.
She continued. "One was dead when he was brought in, the other near dead. You were unconscious at first. Had a nice big hole in your leg. Took a while to patch-no wait. The second time was definitely worse."
"I do remember the second time better."
"Had a hole in your side from a spear, an arrow right below your knee, and the cut from a sword across your chest. How's that scar looking, by the way?"
I lifted my shirt for her to get a look. It wasn't the dark red it once was, but the cut was still obviously there. Big. Impressive too, I'd say.
"Well." She said. "At least you're going to have some stories to tell your grandchildren."
I laughed. "Was that your idea of a joke, Zaydi? I'll be lucky if I get to see the actual battlefield at this rate."
"Oh, quit your whining. Yes, they're beating the shit out of you, but you're not going to die. Not here. You have an entire continent of people who want to do that for you."
"Gee. Thanks. Just the pep talk I needed."
I tried thinking of something else. To change the subject. But she had got me thinking about Aden again. Somehow, she knew just what I was thinking about.
"Do you want to see him?"
"Aden?" I asked, confirming the subject of her question.
"No. The Fire Lord. Yes, Aden. Let's go."
I couldn't help but laugh when I saw him. I hadn't seen him since the day I left the military district with the request for Riu and Aden didn't have a full grown blonde beard last time I saw him.
"Wow. Thanks for taking care of him." I said, making sure to emphasize the sarcasm.
"Alright. Don't blame me. I'm a woman. How the hell should I know how to shave?"
"You're right. You're right. I'm sorry." I said, raising my hands in defense. "I shouldn't blame you for his shitty condition."
"Thank you." There was a pause as we looked at his body a while longer.
"But you could at least bathe him. He smells like shit. What is that?"
"That is the smell of shit and piss combined. Now, if you would be so helpful, fetch some sheets while I change your friend here."
When I came back with new sheets for his bed, the old ones where piled on the floor with an all to foul stench rising from it. I did recognize that smell, just never in a place like this. I smelled it in the streets of Citadel too many times. The smell of the last remains of the dead. I remembered those times as I made the bed with Zaydi, watching two people from my old and new life right next to each other.
"Well. You always complain about how bad of a patient I am, but at least I never shit myself like this."
She turned to me, a devious grin on her face as she finally got Aden's legs onto the newly made bed with my help. "You're kidding, right? You were worse."
"What? Nooo."
"Yeah, but I doubt you'd remember. I've changed you more times than I can count now."
The idea of that threw me off. "Wait." I said aloud, gathering my thoughts. "You-"
"Changed your diapers once a day" she finished.
"Well?"
"Well what?"
"Well. You changed him. You changed me. I just want to know-"
"Who among you two impressed me more? Do you spend a lot of time thinking of what's down there?"
"What? No. I-"
"I suppose I can't blame you. You've been on the street with him for 13 years in a gang of boys with no women. I always wondered how-"
"That's not what I mean. Just-"
I could feel the heat rushing to my face. I tried to dismiss it, but it wasn't doing any good. I had dug myself a hole and was already shoveling the fresh layer of dirt.
"I'll help you out before you make a bigger ass of yourself. He doesn't have an impressive scar like you do." And with that, she left.
She still didn't answer my question. I looked over at Aden's newly changed body. Had a thought, but immediately decided against it. I wasn't going to go there. Not now. Not ever. I had an answer that was good enough for me.

After barely surviving the chaos of the Citadel Streets, Luke is drafted into the Fire Nation military, enrolled in their academy, and must find a way to survive the war to come.

So, I started writing 'The Domineering Prince's Dog', it will be a Comedy novel which is based in the typical magical medieval times. The main character is gonna be a cute Yorkshire and will have a System, I will put most of my attention into that, so my other stories won't get updated. Actually, I'm sure that EUCCOT is paused, and the rest is completed or never ends.
I got MSI Afterburner now because I found that it works better to overclock my PC than other stuff, it's simply better. 
I have a YouTube and Twitch where I stream almost always daily excluding weekends, they have the same name as my Author Name.
I currently can not write as much because I am watching something while typing this, so I am now losing interest after only 100 words, which didn't happen yesterday, where my inspiration stopped at 900 in both I, am writing and The Domineering Prince's Dog.
I'm unsure about how to make Yan Zhou domineering, because I can only write really cheery, really apathic and really ignorant ones, not domineering. I can somewhat write serious characters, as in only serious. 
After two word blocks, I started watching something again.
My writing will probably be one dimensional or something, I am simply bad at writing because I haven't practised it, and English isn't my mother language.
I'm a Spider, so what? is a pretty nice novel, and an OK anime. I don't really understand why they need to rush the production, but it's pretty nice that the episodes get aired weekly.
The Story that never ends, is kinda like EXP-SECT, which is kinda sad. But I got the Author achievement to the fourth level is easily, which reminds me, I wanted to say how many words there are in the Story that never ends. The answer is 17000 or 17059 per chapter, I currently have 2 chapters prepared because my browser freezes when copy and pasting it.
I wonder why so many people don't know how to write emails, it isn't really that hard, just type:

Do you guys know those Temporary Emails? apparently temporary Gmails exist, which is pretty good, since all other temp mails are mostly blocked by popular sites and gmails almost always works. If a human being checks the email, someone would figure out its temporary, but AI can't detect it.
I have the original Skyrim and not the Special Edition which is bad. Since most people have the SE and not the normal one, a lot of mods need the SE.
I can't type apathic, it just looks wrong when I type it. apapethic, or apethic is always the thing I type, sometimes I even need to google it just because it looks so wrong.
I wonder what you guys think about Wattpad, which, in case some of you didn't know, is the writing platform for edgy 13-year-olds. They mostly have good ideas and even original ideas, but they then get destroyed with bad cliche, you know, Harem, being overpowered, generally being a Mary Sue.
Bastard Operator of Hell is a great Comedy, I really recommend it. If you have even basic knowledge about computers, then it will be funny. It's also really old.
So, I started drawing and everything, got a Huion drawing tablet, seems pretty good. I am still bad but I drew a waterfall or a snowfall, doesn't really matter. It looked really realistic, till I drew trees that even 3-year-olds can easily draw. Now it looks terrible and I am sad.
I also have Sony bluetooth headphones, which I wouldn't necessarily recommend, I mean, the sound reduction works, but I needed to look around the internet to fix basic stuff, that takes 2 minutes, to do, and needed 5 hours to figure it out.
I have written 785 words and now have completely lost anything to talk about.
My previous writing challenge has 1,2k views, which is curious, since its unbelievably bad. Not to say that this also isn't bad, but at least I try and wrote a little bit more during my free time.
I have a lot of free-time, mainly because I work from home due to corona, which is eh.
I am currently able to speak German and English, I will try to learn French in the next few years, which I probably will not be able to, because I don't have anyone to speak French to and its really hard to learn alone, I haven't learned enough to read sentences and figure out what which word means simply from guessing. If I could know the basics, I would at least be able to figure out most of it, and while pronouncing it wrong, would still know what it means and how to type it, which is mainly the thing I want, so that I can either visit France or read French literature.

'Well,the first thing we saw was that the welcoming board said "Welcome to Culverwell" instead of "Welcome to Caliente" ' ,said Sergio. (P) 'the down to my version of fictional mimicry is that it drains my stamina when I use it, I'm not sure what baldy did to me in those 8 years but at least he gave me more stamina and I gotta say I can't wait to kill him'
As Puppet was about to start moving when he realized something, his body felt weird
(Jinn) 'huh, why have we stopped moving?'
Puppet pulled on his cheeks to find that they were more, soft, more, human. Puppet tried to do something that he hasn't done in a long time, move his tongue, it took him a while before he could move it.
He hated the change in his body. He could feel his face and body but wanted it to be changed back. He could feel his tongue, his toes, his well, everything, every part of him from top to bottom was human.
He wanted his non-human body back, his PUPPET body. As he was mulling over his new body and his want to have his PUPPET body back, he felt his body stiffen up then relax, he no longer felt the body he is currently in and got the usual feeling he has when he's in his PUPPET body, his body became taller and thinner, well thinner than it usually is, his face stiffened up back to its normal permanent smiling mask.
(P) 'oh thank god, at least I can change back'
Puppet spent a few minutes changing back and forth between his forms, while doing this he found some similarities between the forms, for one they both had long arms and legs, in his HUMAN form from what he guessed that his torso was a bit longer than a normal 15-year-olds, which made him look like a 15-year-old with long arms and legs.
Meanwhile, in his PUPPET form, he was of course taller and looked like the actual puppet, he was thin in all forms but he noticed how flexible he was in them, of course, his PUPPET form was a lot more flexible because it had no real solidness to worry about, by no means were his PUPPET limbs unusable or limp, it's just that it didn't have the hardness that his HUMAN form did.
(Jinn) 'so~ we leave now?'
(P) 'we leave now, at I'm moving forward in my hybrid form it's so much easier than my human one'
Puppet started to walk forward and down the hall towards the door. While walking he made sure that he could still use his Qurik properly. While practicing with his quirk by creating strings he noticed that there were other cells other than his and that there are people in there, he noticed that they are badly beaten, they are skinny and unfed, Puppet was not too sure what to do in this situation.

We had P.e (physical activities online but F it i skipped that $hit about excersing and just googled the answer for about the excersize and the health benefit it brings us. i did the other lessons normally.....maybe.
I have a write a weather report, and make a video of it then send it to the whole class, yes the whole class!!!! the whole ducking class, Im going craaaaazy right now!!! i don't know how to do make a video like that and i am too ducking embarassed to ask anyone about how to do this duck.
duck it not forgetting to mention, i am in a whole new ducking school and im 13 but im going to grade 9, like in my old school there are 13 year olds in grade 7 when i came here but noooo i had to go to grade 8 skipping grade 7 so im working hard to catch up. My friends re still in grade 7 and going to grade 8 this year. but i just ducking became 13 this year and be in grade 8. 
i have to join a class zoom call. (this is my first time using zoom, in online learning we didnt use zoom we used something else). i dont even know what type clothes to wear. DUUUUUCK i am so stressed. i have 2 assignments due wednesday and im going hayday, belive it. 
i have my friends from my old school calling back and fourth to play games online or watch anime or maybe watch netflix. TF, i dont have netflix, my parents are strict af. if you wanna watch netflix with me gimme the ducking password (dont do this as its illegal)

Everyone was excited to know that their leaders were coming back that cold and quiet night. As they had settled up for a welcome back party.         As soon as their leaders called Hotspot,Reed, Bear,Tornado,and Tusumi entered the house everyone screamed SURPRISE and surprised they were as of Bear had almost fainted into the floor.                                                                                      Madison had ran straight at their strongest Alpha  Hotspot screaming "I missed you so much can I get a kiss or a hug or both?" When Madison tried to kiss or hug him before she was really close to him he gave her a very cold spine chilling glare which to some of the female Wildcats was insanely  hot or was terrifying. At that moment the room got real quiet after Hotspot had glared at Madison then at the party decorations and finally said so you all decided to throw a party huh? Everyone in the room got chills of what was gonna happen next everyone thought it meant more hardcore train to hell training was going to happen at the crack of dawn tomorrow, but instead Hotspot said I'm worried who's gonna clean all of this up.                                                            Everyone was relieved and let a breath they didn't realize they were holding and Madonna said we'll all pitch in cleaning. Hotspot noded his head and faced all of the Wildcats and said we have new recruits joining us today.                                               Everyone broke out into cheering and screaming at the top of their lungs. Until Hotspot roared with his catlike abilities then the room got real quiet you could hear the crickets outside chirping outside. He then stated rookies come on in as of that moment a total of 8 new kid recruits entered the room. One 14 year old, two 13 year olds, one 8 year old, and four 6 year old. For some reason he introduced three of six year olds first and the eight year old only. The smallest one and also the one with the prettiest hazel eyes his name was Jayden, the one who looked as he was going to grow up to be such a pretty boy with his not to dark not to light flawless skin tone and face his name was Sean, and the girl who most definitely seemed to be so interested in Hotspot that while he introduced the others was Skai the girl with Heterochromia with one blue and brown eye. And he finally introduced the last one the eight year old everyone noticed that he looked very nervous and on the verge of fainting Hotspot then introduced him as a very shy, clam natured, and quiet and smart kid with a powerful power. He then added I introduced you to these four because their so powerful the other four are too, but they have more control on their powers so I'm counting on you all to make sure these four feel especially at home.                                                After that he introduced the other 4 new recruits they then partied into the night that the next day training was canceled so the Alpha all decided to make breakfast for all 150 Wildcats as of that day. Everyone loved their cooking especially Hotspot's cooking that thought they had died and gone to heaven when they tasted it. And the new recruits thought so too. As they celebrated the new recruits addition with homemade dinner too after that the Alpha Jaguar Reed had announced that the new recruits would have to take a test tomorrow to decide their inner Spirit Animal catness. When they went to bed the new recruits could barely sleep because they were so excited for tomorrow to come to find their inner Cat Spirit Animal.

He grows up being mistreated by his only side of family (Aunt and Uncle) left that don't even care for him as much as his cousin. This is the story of how this boy found his happiness and how he helped many others find the same happiness.

The whole auditorium of the academy was reserved for today's awakening ceremony. This was a major attraction for all the students of the academy.

Then viewing stands were filled with students both senior and juniors waiting to see today's ceremony. All the teaching and non-teaching staff of the academy were also pretty excited about the ceremony.

The doors opened and in entered the performers of today's show, the 10 yr olds who walked and sat at their predesignated spot. There were total 2 classes of 10 year old students which summed upto almost 60 students.

Next came the presently awakened students who were presently studying in the academy. Only 8 students entered the auditorium. Of 300 students older than 10 yrs only 8 students were able to awaken their spirit beasts.

As they entered, the whole auditorium fell into silence as they looked at these superior beings entered. These awakened students had a high sense of being among them and walked in a proud manner.

Their attitudes were lofty and their belongings were stylish, as they sat down on their specially constructed spot. They were given special treatment as these students were the future of academy.

Next the 4 teachers who taught awakened entered, they all were on the panel for judging the students in the ceremony. Along their sides, their spirit beasts followed them. They were a Gazelle, a Bison, a Kite and a Seal.

Next came the director of academy, who was followed with a white transparent crystal. This was the awakening crystal which was placed on a podium constructed at the centre of auditorium for the ceremony.

The director then addressed the audience, "Good afternoon everyone, today we have assembled here together for the awakening ceremony of students of the academy.

This at the centre is the top grade awakening crystal we use to awaken the beasts in students' bodies. This crystal on contact sends a soothing pulse in our body which triggers our mana core.

This triggering of Mana core is just triggering the motion of Mana's movement in your core. The faster the Mana's movement the better is the purity of Mana.

This Mana is then absorbed by the beast which awakens it. The beast when awakens comes out of body in its spirit form showing off its natural full-flexed form. But if it is in presence of stronger beasts, they become afraid and don't show their dominance.

In avoiding this awakening crystal plays a major part, it allows the beasts' spirit form enter it where the beast can show off unrestrained in the crystal.

I wish you all well for the ceremony." saying this the director stepped down and took his place in the judging panel.

The host took his place on the podium, "So are you guys ready for today's ceremony?"

"Yes!!" a loud cheer ran through the audience. The awakening of beasts was most awaited moment by everyone.

The host continued, "First we will be conducting the verification of older students who have awakened their beasts with help of elemental stones. First we call upon stage Marcus Roy."

Panel opened the file on the tablet of Marcus Roy as a 13 yr old boy stood on the stage awaiting their approval.

Spirit Beast: Not awakened.

Marcus then proceeded further as he placed his hand on the awakening crystal. First the crystal turned maroon red showing Maroon Mana core, then it reverted back to white.

Then a cyan coloured smoke filled the crystal. The smoke slowly settled in a form of a water buffalo and slowly materialized in to its 3-D image.

The panel checked the beast as they matched it with the beast's encyclopedia, matching it with the one in crystal. After the verification was done the required changes were done in the file.

A poorly dressed man with torn clothes and bruises enters the Synopsis screen from the left side of screen, crouching hiding from someone. He is afraid and has wounds all over him with blood dripping from them. Seeing no one he knocks on your screen.

I am the author of this book.
I know you have many questions looking at my condition, but I hardly got the time to explain them.
Now listen what I got to say before that evil good-for-nothing comes searching for me.

At first, I was also a reader like you reading books peacefully, but I got tired of those books with leads acting like 'Holier Than Thou' attitude, so I decided to write this book about real attitude of the Cultivators. The real face behind those plastic smiling faces. But this move went wrong and it all turned bad, real bad.

At first it was all OK, he like most people out here awakened his 'Spiritual Beast' and set on his path of cultivation. But soon it turned wrong. He started Looting, Pillaging, Snatching all the things he wanted. Murder, Rapes, Slaughter followed turning him into an totally evil guy.

Seeing this I tried to erase him, but before I could do it, he came after me. Not only did he stop me from deleting, he tried to abduct me to continue writing his story but I escaped. Now I am running from him, trying to tell all those I could before he..... SH*T, I GOT TO GO..."

Suddenly the author jumps sideways as huge lightning arc falls at the spot where he was standing, missing him by an inch. Another lightning arc falls as author dodges it again. Author runs to exit from right side of screen.

The class filed out of the building heading to the Cave Diver fields. These fields were a good deal more well maintained than the one in the park. There were eight fields in total and they gradually got bigger and more complicated. The simple list of the mazes were intended for the youngest class of six and seven-year-olds. And the most complicated was created for the 13 and 14-year-olds. These Cave Diver fields had everything clearly marked out, from the team bases which were placed on opposite sides of the maze to the start location for the dancers and the ring of start locations that the dreamers could choose. It was decidedly a much more professional court for the game than the park was. When the children played on the official fields they were each designated a pair of gloves. These gloves were astonishing because they would somehow turned black if the child was tagged. They were incredible pieces of equipment because if there was an instance where two children thought they tag the other person first the the gloves would be the indisputable ruling. If you were tagged first your glove would always turn black.

The kids lined up in front of their year's maze waiting for their instructor. There were six different classes of kids per year. There were different numbers of students enrolled for each of the years but regardless of the number of students in that year there were six classes with a balanced number of students in that class. This meant that there might be 40 students lined up in front of the maze for the youngest year, and 15 students lined up in front of the maze for the oldest year. This number was maintained for each of the different classes throughout the day. Trillian and Samantha's class currently had 29 students in line. 

A rather skinny man came out of the shed off to the side of the court's. He was a little taller than average and had a very pale skin with loose fitting white clothing on. He was carrying a tub of something towards the students that had lined up. Despite his rather scrawny appearance all the children seem to look at him with pure reverence. This fact was explained when you looked at the top of his head and saw a gemstone helm there. Very few of their teachers had the helm. 

"Mr. Cole what are you carrying?" One of the older students yelled.

Mr. Cole did not yell but somehow his voice seemed to carry to everybody's ears "As you all know the cave divers tournament is going to be held next month. You're going to need to start practicing with the team that you're going to be competing with. This boxes full of the outfits each of your teams will be wearing. Now you're going to have to pick your five-man team and come to me. I will assign your color and give you your designated team outfit."

This statement caused a huge commotion, especially with the children within the youngest year who did not see it coming. A lot of the older years had anticipated this and had long ago started trying to create the best team they could. 

Samantha and Trillian had noticed a lot of quiet communication between their other classmates over the last month or so. They however had not been approached themselves, for the very obvious reason of them always giving a very lackadaisical performance in the cave diver games they were part of. 

Teams were formed around them rather quickly and they found themselves with only the dregs of the class still available as team members. Yolanda and Frederick became the team members. 

Yolanda might be top of the class when it came to gemstone theory but her physical capabilities left much to be desired. Her reaction speed was abysmal so she would almost always be tagged first. Frederick on the other hand had an issue with one of his feet. He would always have to limp if you wanted to go anywhere faster than a walk.

Samantha and Trillian were not upset in the slightest with their team members. There was no risk at all that they would be winning the tournament even if they put a little bit of effort into the game. 

The four of them walked over to Mr. Cole. "I see that you four are the unlucky ones that only have four people on the team. But this might be fortunate for you in the long run because we are going to be having a new student join the class tomorrow. Apparently he was demoted from the school of Lords because of bad behavior. He will be your fifth member. I hope you will help him feel welcome. Here are your clothes. Looks like you got red, a team after my own heart." 

It was a well-known secret that Mr. Cole was a dancer. Most Helmed tried to keep their gemstones a secret because it would give them an advantage if they had a conflict was somebody else. Mr. Cole was getting rather old and he clearly did not care too much about who knew his capabilities. 

He rarely used his ability in front of the students but that did not diminish the students admiration for him.

He smiled at them and set them on their way.

All the different teams started to cluster into their own groups. Now that the teams were picked it was time to strategize which gemstone each team should have. There were quite a number of strategies so there was a definite need to consider each team members strengths and weaknesses.

Samantha and Trillian's team clustered into a small circle as well.

Yolanda seem to think that if she explained the reason why the rules were created the way they were their team would have an upper hand. "The sponge makes people pause for five seconds after they tag someone because if you can feel other people's emotions, any interaction you have with them will force them to reflect upon themselves. This is caused because of the insight that you display during the interaction. The puzzler allows you to tag ..." She went into far too much detail about the origin of the game without giving any real insight regarding the team strategy.

Frederick Samantha and Trillian rolled their eyes at each other when they saw how excited Yolanda was to give them a history lesson about the dungeon divers game. Yolanda continued to rattle off facts for them for the majority of their five minute planning time.

"It has always intrigued me that they only use a simplified version of a sapphire cave. To be fully representative of the cave divers experience they should have eight different cave types, rather than a simple maze. I wonder why they do it that way? I hope Mr. Cole knows. I'll go ask him." After constantly talking for four minutes of their time she walked off to ask Mr. Cole in question.

Frederick finally got the opportunity to say something. I might be a bit slow but I'm not half bad at tagging people. I was thinking that I would choose the sponge and head towards their defensive group. If I can managed to tag at least two of them our team will have the advantage for a bit. I know you guys normally play a controller and a glass, but that's probably not the best strategy in this tournament." 

Both Trillian and Samantha knew that there standard strategy of not caring at all about the outcome would not work in a tournament, which is supposed to have the potential to change their lives for the better. "I guess we probably need an attacker also. I will be a dancer and try my hardest to get to the middle of the maze as fast as possible." Trillian decided to follow the standard attack strategy. Samantha continued the distribution of roles"I will be a member of our defensive team so I will pick needle to stay in the game longer. I'm sure that Yolanda will pick her role perfectly considering how much she knows about the game. Let's wait for Miss know it all to come back and tell us why were doing it all wrong."

When Yolanda came back she decided she wanted to be a puzzler. That would allow her to ignore her tagging deficiencies at least once per game.

For the next week the groups would be allowed to practice together and get used to working as a team. Next week teams would start competing to see who's team was best in the class. One month from now the best from each class would be competing in the tournament. The winning team would be elevated to the school of Lords.

Over the next hour Mr. Cole assigned teams to challenge each other. For the younger kids like Samantha and Trillian the matches were very quick. This was because their maze was simple enough to be navigated in a minute or two, and because all of their strategies were rather adolescent. Considering their age that seemed very appropriate.

To nobody's surprise their group did not win a single match. Frederick was not lying when he said he was good at tagging people. Every time they competed against other teams he managed to tag two of them before getting tagged himself. This might've had a larger impact on the game if they were not already one man down. Samantha and Yolanda did not really have that much to do while defending because the main issue for their team was that Trillian appeared to have no maze navigation skills. He would constantly get lost in the maze allowing the other team to grab the ball and leave before he found the center. This was quite abnormal considering for their age there were only about three dead ends per side. Even if you found all three of them you should be able to make it to the center without much difficulty. Somehow Trillian managed to hit the dead ends multiple times while he was trying to navigate through the maze. Overall it seems that their team needed some work.

 When they watch the other teams play they could see that the teamwork for their groups had already developed very well. The other teams must of been practicing together for a while.

The fact that Trillian had been left out when the other kids were playing made him sad. It is never a good feeling to know that your friends are excluding you from what they're doing on purpose. Trillian once again regretted having to follow all of gran's rules. It made it so that he could not live a normal life that he had always wanted. His only comfort was that there must be a clear reason why he had to avoid the attention of the Lord. He still did not know what that reason was though, but he trusted Gran. So despite the fact that he was upset on missing out, he continued his ploy of incompetent maze navigation.

If you paid attention to the different age groups you could clearly see the strategic complexity advance from year-to-year. The youngest children all tried to rush into the maze at once and get the ball. There was clearly only two things in their mind. First get the ball, then bring it to base. It was hard to follow individuals within the mass of kids.

The 7 to 8-year-olds started to understand positioning. They would have people defending the entrance to their half of the maze and a few people trying to navigate the maze. 

Trillian and Samantha were in the 8 to 9-year-old class. This group of children was just starting to understand that those with the best strategy have a higher chance of winning. You could start to see the kids trying new approaches rather than just attacker and defender there would be anti-defense and distraction plays.

The next few years above them you could see the strategies that were being experimented with during their year becoming honed to a much more effective approach. The children started specializing in specific roles that they knew how to use to their fullest extent.

The last few age groups had clearly planned out multiple strategies and contingencies. If something went wrong then they would change their approach. They had even developed their own code so they could share information among their team without telling the other team what was being done. It was a much faster game but it also took a lot longer to complete because their opponents were just as effective at countering their strategies as creating their own.

The gaze of Samantha was rarely on her own court, if her team was not playing. Instead it was looking off at the older children's games. The simple attack and defend strategies of her year evidently did not keep her attention in the slightest.

Next to her, Trillian was looking at his classmates in envy as they competed for the ball. You would've thought that by now he would have gotten use to his lot in life. But evidently he was still sullen about the fact he did not get to play like the other kids do.

Trillian and Samantha are  carefree children, but they lives in a world where the Lords have almost unlimited power. These powers are not a matter of physical supremacy, but a show of mental acuity. Their mental capacity is not natural. They are augmenting their brains capability through the gemstone helm. If you want to increase your mental capabilities simply have the gemstone helm installed and augment whichever faculty you want to increase. But beware if your gemstone is ever used up your will become Glass. Your augmented attribute will drop far below the capabilities of a normal human.

Katlyn Aproached the podium and took off her hat, letting her long brown hair fall down her. "I am Katlyn Dàk. I am Daniel's youngest sibling. He was my last blood related family member. He was always sweet to me even though at times I was a little brat to him. As some of you who have little sisters may know." Everyone laughed. "I used to sneak out alot with our adoptive brother Aaron." Katlyn looked back at Aaron and they both smiled. "We used to go to sneak out to the year round haunted house. Now daniel was 4 years older than me, Aaron is 1 year older. Daniel always treated us as his kids. He was like a child parent." Everyone laughed again. "I remember sneaking in through Aarons window and my window to gwt back inside. Now we didn't scedual who's window we would use, it was always random. But somehow without fail, everytime he was waiting inside with his phone, sitting at the foot of our beds. With his camara app ready. He knew how to blackmail us." Katlyn laughed with the crowd this time. "He used those photos to get us to load the dishwasher. The one job we all hated. And how could we say no. We were always covered in cobwebs and our hair was all janky. We were a hot mess. You think we would learn but no. And he still held those against us up until last year. It was our 25 birthday. Now we dont have the same birthday me and Aaron. We are one year apart, but he was born on July 19 and me on July 13. So we always celebrated on the same day. But that year Daniel took every photo of him catching us, and sent them to everyone we knew." Everyone in the room started dying of laughter, some with tears in their eyes. " And I was son mad. But now I cant help but miss that big dopey brother of mine... The way he made fun of me all the time... He always joked that I was the only one in the family with blue eyes. Everyone else in the familiy including Aaron and Daniel had brown eyes. He called me blue for the first 12 years of my life. So I figured to get back at him. We called him ginger. Because of his hair... I dont know where he got it from. We always joked that was what made him funny, and such a prankster. I called him red. He wouldn't talk to me for a week." Katlyn was still laughing, and everyone had to calm themselves. "Okay, well... Long story short. I still loved him even if he was just a tall prankster. The only thing I couldn't wrap my head around was how he got into the military. He may have been tall. But he was always so skinny, and I don't get it I have seen him down something that would give anyone a heart attack. And he was always a cluts. Seriously. He was always tripping. He wasn't the person to fall down the steps he was the person to fall up them. He even one time fell over the railing, and then sprinted our of the house because on his way down he knocked over every one on the boxes we had spent an hour packing for our trip. He was so scared of me and Aaron. He booked his ass out of the house and ran like there was no tomarow. When he came back he gave us each a 50 dollar bill and ran to his room. He sold his shoes to pay for our things he broke on the way down. And of course we still told on him. But then we really got bit by karma. Turns out he didn't sell his shoes he hid them. And those 50 dollar bills. They were monopoly money." This let everyone have a good final laugh. "I dont know how we fell for that. We were dumb 5 and 6 year olds. Of course we had no idea they were fake. We held on to them for a bit because we thought they got more expencive as they got older. We were really dumb kids. Thats what I loved about my brother. He could turn a bad situation into the best one. We had some great laughs together... To my beloved brother Daniel. If tou can hear me... I miss you... My parter in crime... I hope you are living you best life up their... I'll miss you big red... Goodbye, from your little sister... Blue..." Everyone was silent as Jin walked up with Atticus in his arms...
