Online literature was still in its infancy, the current system was far less mature and sound than it would be in a couple of years, and the available subject matter wasn't rich. Everything was still in it's growing stages, and there were few clear set genre distinctions, many of the genres of the future hadn't even been properly formed yet. 
In theory if he wanted to write a new novel, he could, after all, there were the many genres of later generations to pick from but in reality though Jiang Cheng had a lot to consider.
The first problem was the real issue. Although the era of the Internet had begun, various new phrases and expressions were just emerging, it wasn't as developed as it would be in a few years. 
The culture and framework for certain types of stories just weren't in place and it would take more than one novel to create them. For example system novels, slice of life, video game novels and the different forms of cultivation novels which would be formed in the future didn't really have a place in the current literature world.
They would be formed over time naturally as things developed, which was why he created Starting Point Literature to get a slice of the cake, but trying to think of a novel to support Starting Points launch he realised a lot of novels and ideas just wouldn't blend or be deemed acceptable by others.
Looking to [Stories About The Ming Dynasty] wasn't reliable because the language was simple and at grassroot level, in order to appeal to the general public. Plus the book was about history, which was a pretty universal genre. Novels which were rich in "popular expressions'' and jokes from the future wouldn't work as well. 
Then came the subject matter. Jiang Cheng was a very cautious person, so cautious that he made sure to become an expert in Ming history in order to write [Stories About The Ming Dynasty], he wasn't willing to write about topics he didn't understand.
Finally, there was the issue of writing standard. Jiang Cheng's writing was great, and he was currently being praised as a model for everyone, so those quick cash grab novels or poorly written novels were of the table.
In this way, he narrowed down the genres he could write down to; Martial Arts, Xianxia, Magical Realism, Romance and History.
Among them, in the history category he had already written [Stories About The Ming Dynasty] so he didn't want to write another history novel. At least not until the series was completely published.
Magical Realism, he just felt was too broad plus he didn't really like the genre. 
For the Romance category there was [Autumn's Concerto] which was coming out as a TV show next year so he decided to skip it as well.
Therefore, only Martial Arts and Xianxia were left before Jiang Cheng.
Jiang Cheng loved the two themes very much. Needless to say, martial arts, who didn't dream of learning martial arts and becoming the next Bruce Lee when they were younger? Plus martial arts culture was already an integral part of Chinese culture. As for Xianxia, ​​it was actually essentially an extension of martial arts. Mythical fantasy built on the basis of martial arts.
Jiang Cheng was very optimistic about the two themes, and was slightly unwilling to give up either. However, his energy was limited. He only had little more than a month left before he had to head to school, just about enough time to write another book.

However for the Xianxia theme you're talking about, Zhuzhu's [Story of Swordsman from Shushan Mountain] is the closest I can think of but even that was not completely separated from the category of martial arts. 
Martial arts novels in recent years have been given a new rebirth by authors like Jin Yong, Gu Long, Liang Yusheng and Wen Ruian!"
"However, in recent years with the retirement of Jin Yong and the rest and there being fewer and fewer traditional literati in recent years, the amount of decent works being written has fallen. Whilst Jin Yong, Gu Long and the others helped revive and create a new school of martial arts novels, due to their standing and reputations it seems people can't escape the framework set by them!"

Listening to Jiang Dejun's suggestion, Jiang Cheng was even more torn.
Martial arts novels weren't easy to write. Without profound planning, understanding of traditional Chinese culture, and a martial arts background, it was nigh impossible to write a good novel. A good martial arts novel often took several years to write, for example [The Legend of the Condor Heroes] was still constantly being revised by Jin Yong.
Then....should I choose Xianxia? Jiang Cheng questioned. 
In fact he already had a novel in mind, for Xianxia, the novel [Zhu Xian]. 
The novel [Zhu Xian] had a pivotal position in later generations of online literature. Once published in China, it soared to the Chinese, Hong Kong and Taiwanese bestsellers list. With it's imaginative and powerful narrative, it quickly became the pinnacle of Chinese Xianxia literature. It even became famous overseas after being translated.
Throughout the novel, love, affection, friendship and the battle between right and evil was brought together, the writing was beautiful and the story was vivid. With more than 30 million views online, it was hailed as a pioneering work in a new generation of domestic Xianxia novels comparable to the legendary [Story of Swordsman from Shushan Mountain], a masterpiece of Xianxia.
The plot of [Zhu Xian] had its ups and downs and the characters were distinct. It provided a unique take on a Eastern Xianxia world at the time, with grand and detailed world building. The love story was especially famous. One of the questions repeatedly explored in the book was 'what was good and evil in a world without benevolence, where the strong reigned'.
The love story between Zhang Xiaofan, Bi Yao and Lu Xueqi touched the fans of [Zhu Xian] and caused the creation of fandoms for each. People actively argued online over who they shipped more, and why one female lead was better than the other.

However, [Zhu Xian] wasn't flawless, and there were still issues. The most distressing and regretful thing for readers was how long Xiao Ding took to update and finish the book. The ending of the book also left many things unsolved and created plot holes.
But despite the few flaws, [Zhu Xian] was still a classic among Xianxia novels.
However, if Jiang Cheng were to write the book, he couldn't make the same mistakes, he would have to make up for these deficiencies.
But, Jiang Cheng was confident he could edit, fix out any plot holes and create a satisfying ending. 
But despite this, he still couldn't make up his mind to write [Zhu Xian].

Finally it's breaktime, I should probably go to the cafeteria to get some sandwiches since I only ate a slice of bread earlier this morning. I saw Seth sitting at a table near the exit of the cafeteria, I nudged him and he looked up at me.

			"Have you seen the set list Lev?" he asked me. "Yep! Felix handed it over earlier before our English Literature class, we've got a few songs to practice tho. Last night was really tiring, imagine we had to play 15 songs then people started requesting for more. I actually thought they won't stop asking after the 5th one." I complained to him.

			"I guess that's how it is bro, we need to get as much supporters as we can and you know that." Seth replied back, and I just shrugged. I'm about to finish my sandwich and head back to my next class so I told him I got to go. "See you at lunch break so we can discuss for the gig later."

			Seth has been one of my closest friends ever since high school, we have been covering a few songs from different bands mostly pop rock in genre. While he plays the piano I do the guitars and after a few covers we got discovered by a talent agency to which we have been working for up to this day. The two of us can both sing, same as with Felix and Dylan whom we both met when we were in 2nd year at the local high school where we have been studying. I got along with both of them really well and that's when we started to form this band called "Au Revoir".

			Felix plays the drums while Dylan plays the bass guitar, Seth still plays the piano while I play the lead guitar, I mostly do the vocals along with Seth while Felix and Dylan does the back up vocals for the band. We have also been busking along the streets of Rivendell for a few years now. I really do love performing and making music, I enjoy it a lot. It's just that sometimes I can't avoid complaining because of the hectic schedule the agency gives us every week. They might have forgotten that we are still studying, and that we also want to finish our courses on time.

			I went to my next class which is Sociology, I found Felix already seated on his desk when I entered the room. The professor hasn't arrived yet so I just decided to listen to the songs for the set list later, after a few minutes our professor came running through the door since he's already late by 10 minutes. He asked us to introduce ourselves in front of the class, I didn't notice that I was the next one and so I almost tripped since I was rushing to get this introduction thing done.

			"My name is Lev Aiken, 17 years old, I am from a band called "Au Revoir", pleased to meet you all." I quickly went back to my seat, catching a glance from Felix. He was the next one after me, he stood up and went in front of the class. "Hi my name is Felix and I am 17 years old, I play the drums for the band "Au Revoir" along with Lev as our lead guitarist, hope you can come to our gigs and support us!" He was smiling enthusiastically at our classmates, I could hear a lot of whispering from the girls inside our classroom.

			One girl says "he's cute", the other one says "look at his dimples" and can't stop giggling, well what can I say Felix is really good looking just like me. As I was daydreaming a bit, I realized that all of my classmates are done introducing their selves. The professor started to discuss about the introduction to Sociology, beginning with its definition. He called us one by one and asked us to give some of the characteristics of one of our closest friends. When the activity was done, he gave us some homework to research about.

			The next class would be College Algebra and I'm going to see that Nayi girl again. If you'll ask me what I think about her, well she's pretty simple, "plain" I guess and she actually looks so fragile, she'll look better if only she'll try to fix her hair and also fix her composure everytime someone is talking to her since it seems like she always gets lost in her train of thoughts.

			The bell started ringing for the last class before lunch. The professor walked in and she looks really strict while wearing this thick glasses. She started to talk about the grading system for the subject then asked us to introduce ourselves. Here we go again I thought to myself, I don't really like telling people things about me and I prefer to be alone. After all this introduction, she gave us a simple activity to work on and since I finished it early she told me that I can already leave the class.

			I got out of the door, went straight to the cafeteria where I'll be waiting for Seth, Dylan and Felix. After a few minutes, I saw them walk through the door and waved at me. I got up and ordered some food for myself which I then paid for at the cashier, I went back to our table and decided to wait for them so we can start eating.

			When they got back, Felix was already red as a tomato while Seth was also laughing at whatever joke Dylan said to them. We started eating after the laughter died down and finished after about 30 minutes. That's when we started talking about the set list and decided to listen to some of the songs that we are unfamiliar with.

			Me and Seth would split up the song and sing alternately, usually Felix and Dylan would do the back up vocals. After arranging our parts for the songs, we would think of ways to add our own style to it so that those who are listening would be able to hear a distinct or unique approach to the song. After lunch break has ended, we decided to proceed to our next class and reminded each other about our practice after class which is 3pm.

Since he dived into the network of web writing, he would read other web novels as well. There were a minority of writers actually refer to another novel to produce more quality novels. Those who shut themselves in, they were destined to fail forever.
Most readers would know from "Fight Break Spheres" the iconic breaking off an engagement at the prologue, and the golden finger of grandpa's ring. He wrote all that himself, with an average subscription of 3,000, not bad for a high schooler. He was different than those authors who get 3,000 average subscriptions after failing for 7, 8 years...
He was able to write his novel because he loved to play online games too, the way he wrote made readers felt like as if they were sucked into the gaming world. His sentences were great, his female characters were lifelike, and all of them were dependant on the main protagonist, leaving lots of space for imagination, that was how he got all his subscriptions from.
Online games and Esports were in the same genre, Han Leng would spend his free time to read these popular novels in the same genre. He did not expect that he would get addicted to reading someone's Esports novel. This author was none other than Rosemary, the leading author in this genre.
Han Leng was reading the "The Strongest King" as well, he was one of the loyal fans of Rosemary, because he liked "LoL" very much. Rosemary's novel that described "LoL" was actually fascinating, except for a fact that he was bad at writing about female characters.
Han Leng thought that his ability to describe a female character, or a romantic scene could easily overtake Rosemary, not because he was full of self-confidence.
After he finished the latest update of "The Strongest King", he felt like that as if his eyes were being rubbed with poison, what the heck was this "Yu Shengfan"?
Is she the heroine of this novel?
He would abandon this book immediately if this turns out to be true!
Even Han Leng did not know how to describe a rich lady, but ever since he befriended Zhao Youyue, he had a rough idea about it.
