This is the story about a dragon from fantasy world log in to a VRMMO RPG

Author Note: I always wonder there countless number of novels where MC go-to game world but why no one from the fantasy world come to our futuristic VRMMO so you can guess where has my dum idea come form

Hi, well I said I might be doing this but in the end I did. Currently, on vacation in Disney hence why the story idea came to be. It is meant as a comedic short as I've been uninterested in writing my novels. Every novel as their next chapter started but I just have no motivation to finish writing them, but that is digressing from why I'm writing this.

I chose a poor main character as I wanted there to be a reason on why he was stuck in the game. He couldn't be rich as the power going out would be weird. Needed to be in the future so I took a page out of Ready Player One for the futuristic trailer parks, hence the great view. 
The bills were there to give a reason for why the power went out. They also show he had been putting off everything to get the helmet. 
I constantly reiterated that everything was neat because that was the main theme for everything. I showed he did this by choice, he enjoys cleaning it isn't a chore but a joy. 

The electronics showed he had a hobby for games and the missing modern ones were meant to show he sold them for the new one. I constantly tried to show he had just gotten the helmet by needing to set up his info along with the box being out of place. This also showed how he prioritized things. He knew he would have to wait for the games to download so he started that before moving on to clean up.

Every line was meant to show or hint towards something more, and that is something I try to do with all my writings. I feel authors that explain everything through words/narration right after the hints are either word padding or feel the reader can't understand it. You could say I'm doing the same but I feel what I'm doing here is slightly different. I'm going point by point as if I'm in an interview. 

Now a thing that may seem confusing, why didn't I say the guy's name yet? Simple answer, there is no need for his name. Outside of being Cinderella who is doesn't matter. His choices and personality are what mattered not his name. Hence the line "He was trapped, he was Cinderella."

Hope that helps you understand my thought process. I'll be updating when I get back from Disney, with spending with family I don't have time to write. I wrote 90% of this before I left which is why I can post it now, but bye!

As young ladies and girls, we are all told the story of the glass slipper and becoming Cinderella. It becomes a dream of a prince charming and a glass slipper before he whisks them away on a white horse.  

A glitch in a VR game allows someone to live this dream out.  

Now the problem is she doesn’t want to be Cinderella. She enjoys the work of maids and wants to stay as she is. 

How will she escape her fate of being the next Cinderella? Will she even become the next Cinderella? 

Oh, and did I mention the main character was a guy? Yea this going to be awkward fast.

The man's face turned from puzzled, to afraid, to horrified in a split second, his blue eyes also began to fill with tears his expression changing to match hers.

"K-K-Kayla" he sobbed through large hiccuping breaths. "You really don't remember anything?"

She blinked away the waterfall of tears that were still seeping from her eyes, her lashes now covered in tiny water droplets. Trying to regain her calm demeanour was not going to be easy but she tried her best and searched her mind for anything relating to this world.

In every book she had ever read when people reincarnated in new worlds they were gifted with the existing memories of the person's body they had entered, but she was not so lucky. Slowly she shook her head, she really didn't know anything about the person that had lived in this body before her.

The man looked crestfallen as if he had just lost everything that was precious to him, although, in a way, he had. The house wasn't much to go by but he didn't seem very wealthy, and his daughter seemed to be all the family he had.

Slightly ashamed for her previous joy at getting to start anew in this body Kayla curled into a small ball with her arms hanging limply either side of her. This was not what she had expected at all, she thought that having been reincarnated her chance at being someone who actually mattered would be easily within reach. Just then the man's voice pulled her out of her grieving trance:

"Can you move your arms at all Sweetie?"

Focusing all her will on the point just below her shoulders where flesh became metal she attempted to move her arms but they stubbornly refused to shift at all, even after her face started to flush red with effort. She sighed and gave in, turning her face to look at the man she said.

"I'm sorry, they wont move no matter how hard I try..."

The man wiped away his tears with the end of his sleeve and reached into his pocket, pulling out what looked like a tiny bronze coin and placing it on the centre of his forehead. It glowed slightly and then stuck there as his eyes began to dart around as if he was reading something she couldn't see. Confused she squinted at the area in front of his face as if that would help her perceive what he was seeing but all that she could sense was a faint pulse of silver light every few seconds.

There was a soft clicking sound and the coin fell from his forehead into his outstretched palm, he looked her straight in they eye, this time not as distraught as before, the light in his eyes seemed to hold the tiniest glimmer of hope.

"Although it seems your incompatibility with the arms is over 90% there have been a few recorded cases where it has been resolved to almost 30%. There is still hope Kayla, and you might even regain your memories with this training technique that I have sent you."

"Sent me?"

"Oh right, sorry. Your Link is here." The despair returned to his eyes slightly when he saw the full extent of her 'amnesia'.

He reached over to the tiny desk beside her bed and retrieved a coin similar to the one he had been holding a moment ago and gently placed it onto her forehead.

The moment it touched her head she felt a sharp jolt in her mind causing her to freeze for a second, and if one had been paying attention to her face they would had noticed that for a split second her eyes flashed silver, the same way they had in the darkness before. However the shock disappeared almost as quickly as it had appeared, and when the data from the Link began streaming into her mind she didn't feel the shock at all.

A transparent blue screen that resembled a hologram appeared in front of her eyes, littered with numbers and letters that didn't appear to make sense. A muffled voice could be heard from in front of her:

"You navigate with your mind, just think of what you need and the Link will take you there."

This piece of technology reminded her of all the futuristic novels she had read even though this world hadn't given her a futuristic vibe at all. She thought with all her might "Received," if it worked like email in her previous life then she presumed that this would be where she would find the technique. A faint swoosh noise sounded and the screen in front of her began to reassemble itself into recognisable words. The message from her Father was there and also there were a few previous messages that had already been read, it seemed that even though she was the person in this body now all traces of the person before her still existed.

The message opened and immediately a book materialised in front of her, it fell through the air and landed with a soft thump on her bed. She looked at it with curiosity, it seemed this world had some form of cultivation manuals although it didn't seem to be training the strength of the body but rather the strength of one's connection with the machines that she was coming to understand ruled these people.

Her Father whistled sharply and a small object flew through the air towards the books. It was bronze in colouring, with a body similar to that of a bird but not with feathered wings, instead with thin transparent ones, resembling an insect, that spun in tight circles above the main body. It extended its thin legs and picked up the book as if it weighed nothing and placed it on the tiny desk.

"I'll leave you to rest, once you wake up we can discuss what will happen from now on."

The man turned to leave, seemingly regretful that she couldn't begin training her spirit to accept the arms straight away. To him it must have felt like that his daughter had died rather than survived, and Kayla resolved herself to be the best daughter for this man, he didn't deserve to know that in fact his daughter had passed away because of the operation and she had just taken over the body.

As his frail figure left the room she slowly picked herself up, and knelt before the window, her arms still lying useless beside her. And the sight that greeted her was not at all what she had expected...

When Kayla finds herself reincarnated in an alternate universe she expects glory and immense power to be easily within her grasp, however she is severely crippled and cannot control the energy that circulates through her body. Angry and frustrated she decides that instead of being a warrior she will strive to master a different occupation and become famous anyway.

Although she has a few tricks up her sleeve, when she meets a mysterious boy whose strength is far beyond her comprehension she realises that she will have to settle with being the second lead this time after all.

Red woke up to the sound of some intense chirping competition outside. He stared at it and decided that he wanted to die, like an epic gamer moment.

He turned his sleeping position to take a good look at his mother who was still asleep and holding him gently. She had high cheekbones that gives her an aura of youth, she has long eyelashes that makes her gaze look like an ever-forgiving mother who would love their child unconditionally, she also had thin eyebrows which looks good when matched with her long eyelashes. She also has black, curly hair, waving slowly downwards to her back.

He turned his head to take a good look at his father, who was already awake and already smiling at him. His father grabbed him by the armpits and carried him softly out of his mother's reach. He placed Red into his arms and slowly got out of the room, and headed towards the door.

When they got outside, his father sat down on a chair and placed Red on his lap while enjoying the fresh air from outside, the smell of bread baking can be smelled not far, and random kids running around without care through the streets.

Red finally took a good look at the area where his family resides. It was most likely the slums looking at some several shady alleyways and the homeless people. He felt pity for them but he couldn't easily empathize with them, because they might have deserved it, or maybe not.

Anyways, he turned to his father and reached out, and his father played with him with his finger. He was giggling but in reality, he was listening intently to people taking while passing their house.

"-Gods those shavists actually decided to steal my game yesterday?! I'll kill them with my sword and I'll make sure that their families would be forgotten after three generations!-"

"-Hey have you heard about Tjifanny? Yeah she recently got pregnant with the king again! That slut! She's lucky she bears the King's bastards, if she didn't, she would most likely be here with us!-"

"-Hey Gheremy, wanna hang out some time? We can catch some game later and spar!-"
"-Sure thing Zsackary! I'll just grab my sword and we can start later!-"

"-The sun is rising from the west and sets on the east. This man is starving and is seeking shelter from the cold, may you kind sires grant me my wish?-"

He was listening but he could barely understand anything, so he decided to make an attempt to talk.

"Waa waa!" He said as he raised his hands up to his dad.

"-Waterfall? What?-" someone replied from another house, looking somewhat anxious as she looked around through her window, before banging it shut.

"-Baby, it's Daaa Daaa!-" his father told him, while gesturing to himself and repeating what looked to be a "daddy".

"Daaaa!" He replied unsurely, but his father happily laughed and patted his head, taking him back inside. He was placed on a chair and watched his dad while he prepared breakfast for them.

Red sat there in contemplation and tried to think out of the box like most MCs would. He tried reaching into the depths of his mind and tried to find any connection about his identity, maybe like a system or an Earth's Blessing thing.

After a few minutes of searching and shouting in his mind "System Activate!", a sudden click resounded in his mind and a hologram appeared in front of him.

[GREETINGS USER! WELCOME TO THE CURYLAN UNIVERSE! A UNIVERSE WAITING TO BE CONQUERED BY YOU, A FUTURISTIC WEEB IN THIS ANCIENT WORLD! THE SYSTEM WILL HELP YOU KEEP TRACK OF YOUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND HELP YOU BUILD YOUR KINGDOM FROM SCRATCH. (and we won't give you OP boosts, so zip it)]

Red stared at the screen absent-mindedly and shook his head in dismay. 

'I thought that all systems give Op boosts, what's with my system?' He wailed internally.

He was shocked at the uwu reference but just shook his head and continued looking at the screen, and thought that he would need to grow up with the system so that he can make others grow strong, but he wouldn't give the system to anyone anyways.

Red kept squabbling with the system while trying to calm his heart down. HE HAS A SYSTEM! AND HE IS SUPPOSED TO BE BLESSING THIS UNIVERSE WITH ANIME! HOW COOL IS THAT?! So the first thing Red did was squeal, which caused his father to pinch his cheeks and initiating cheek torture 101

After quite some time, he was finallt let go and was brought to his mom's chest, who was already awake, to drink some tiddy milk.

[WHY]

because.

When Red was finished, his mom placed him on some weird baby carrier and was brought outside once more. He felt safe in the weird contraption, plus he can eavesdrop on people even though he can't understand them.

"-Look, at this amalgamation of Fire and Wood magic I learned! Burning Passion: Wood Verse! TRAPPING EMBER!-"
"-Holy Shavist dude! What level is that?!-"
"-A Level 1 Rank 1 Spell! Drool on that!-"

Red watched intently on the magic some random dude casted, fascinated by seeing both green and red lights merging into one magic circle and forming an unbreakable spell. He so desperately wanted to try it but he has no idea how to, so he only sulked in his mother's cradle.

He closed his eyes and continued feeling for anything in the air, or maybe a sliver of magic he can grab and call his own. But sadly, it wouldn't happen no matter how hard he tried, so he stopped what he was doing and continued trying to piece together what everyone was saying around him.

10 months has passed after Red was born.

Red could be seen crawling around the house while his mom was preparing a meal. Red crawled under the table and sat down, sighed, and opened the system.

As he was drinking milk, he waved his tiny hands around and tried controlling the small wisp he sees in his mind space. Ever since he can understand speech, he desperately listened to Mages explaining to their Disciples how to manipulate magic. Apparently, it was common knowledge, but only a few people can manipulate the Earth's elements and Heaven's will so the information was basically free real estate.

As he held the image of a small spark in his mind stronger, a small spark manifested in front of his mother, who almost dropped him in shock. She stared at the small spark in front of her and looked at the boy in her arms, who was now detached from her breast and happily clapping.

Flored walked in to witness his son exhibiting magic and his wife's face dripping with joyful tears. He stared at the two and hugged them together, happy that he actually had such a child, a potential genius, who can manipulate magic.

After the small hug, Red fell asleep almost immediately which made the couple smile and kiss each other due to extreme happiness.

"Who knew Truyle was correct? Our son indeed can manipulate magic! Do you think we must entrust him to the Council and let him become an Advanced Apprentice there?" Flored asked his wife while taking the babe from her arms and taking it into his.

"No, I think we should earn a lot of money first to let him enter the Culv Academy, so he can have a better future than some street magician. You know what they do to Mages in the Council, they usually get scammed and end up performing street tricks to get by" Lilith replied and kissed Red with affection. They both nodded their heads and grabbed a jar and started putting their money in it, just to save up for their child.

What they didn't know though, was Red was actually listening to their conversation. He teared up inside and promised that he'll do his best at magic to repay them.

'I'll definitely repay this. I'll become a successful mage and I'll get them out of the slums, even if it takes eternities!'

Neil woke up with a headache and saw teared down walls around him and got confused as he started remembering how he traveled what seemed to be either a parallel world or to the future.
Last he remembered he was getting drunk in a bar after he was fired from his job for missing his work when he had to go back to his home to Nagpur when his father was extremely sick.
Now as a single, unemployed recently graduated youth in the past paced city of Mumbai he faced two choices either find a low paying job in some small shop and continue his life at the lowest rung of society or go back to his hometown a small town which every youth hopes to leave.
Having decided that he did not had enough of the big city life Neil decided to enjoy the night drinking cheap beer in a bar before continuing his search for a job. Recovering his senses Neil started looking around him, he seemed to be inside a worn-out house that looked to be at least 20-30 years old. Where most of the wooden furniture was either rotten or had fungus on it and rest of the room seemed to be covered in rubble. He stood up and started looking at his body to see whether he was fine or not when he discovered that there seemed to be a futuristic looking smartwatch in his hand. Looking at this watch Neil was stunned first of all for the fact that a smartwatch cost at least 20,000 INR which wasn't even his monthly salary and second by the fact that it seemed to possess only three apps one looking like a file folder named "storage" and second icon shaped liked earth named "transfer" and another icon shaped like a mask named "hide". Intrigued by this he pressed the storage button when his mind was suddenly transferred to an empty space, seeing this Neil freaked out as he suddenly started panicking when suddenly his mind was transported out of the space and back to the worn-down room. After collecting his thought he was reminded of the web novels he loved to read and the storage dimension mentioned in them he was instantly stunned as he wondered did he gain a cheat like ability or was he transported to another world and given powers like the hero but there was no meeting with the god or nothing, to try out his hypothesis Neil picked up a piece of rock lying on the floor and tapped the storage app and the rock suddenly disappeared out of his hand . Shocked by this Neil clicked the storage app again when his mind was transferred to the space which now had a rock inside it. Stunned by the reality of the situation Neil experimented with the app for hours finding out that he could control the app with his mind and also and he could also see the list of items inside the space in both the storage app and an inventory list inside his mind. After figuring out what he could about the storage app he pressed the transfer app when the world outside suddenly went black and he was now standing in his cramped-up room in the middle of the night.
Confused whether he was just dreaming or not he thought of the futuristic looking watch when suddenly a smartwatch appeared in his hand. Excited by this Neil but exclaim in joy thinking of the opportunities that lay ahead of him. After taking out the piece of rock and making sure the storage function was working Neil thought of trying the other app on the watch, he pressed the earth shaped transfer icon when his mind suddenly went blank and he back in the worn-down room again stunned by this he pressed the transfer app again when he was transported back to his room.
Thinking of trying out this function more he pressed the transfer icon again when a prompt appeared in the watch "the dimensional watch is out of power please provide power"
as Neil read this sweat started appearing on his brows, thinking how he should power the watch or what kind of power did the watch require he discovered a standard charging point on the side of the watch excited by this Neil grabbed his power adapter and started charging the watch when suddenly his lights started blinking scared by this Neil pulled the cable from the watch when the lights went back to normal. Sacred by this Neil looked at the watch which showed it power level at 20%. Thinking about it Neil was scared merely by the idea of how his electricity bill will be. Neil prepared to press the transfer app when suddenly he remembered the condition of the room he was transported in, thinking about it Neil started to prepare for the otherworld, he ran down the stairs to the convenience shop in his building and bought a lot of instant noodles, water, beverages, energy drinks, energy bars etc. He got back to his room and stored all the things he bought in his storage as well as some matches and flashlight and a bat for self-defense. After getting prepared Neil pressed the transfer app when he was transported to the worn-down room. To be prepared Neil took the bat as well as some energy drinks and energy bar out of his storage and put them into his bag. After getting prepared Neil slowly walked out of the room and then out of the building, when he got out of the building, he was stunned by his environment the torn buildings. Empty streets, the road that were cracked and broken, intense sunlight, which was so bright that Neil took some time getting used to it before he could see without flares. After thinking about it Neil concluded that he was in some kind of apocalypse like world. He started moving north randomly to see if could find another person to ask him about where he was, after walking for hours a loud noise suddenly startled Neil, thinking that he could meet somebody in that direction Neil starting running towards the direction of the voice, when he arrived at the location of the voice Neil was stunned as he saw a girl who seemed to be fighting a group of men with scars over their body, in torn clothes and grey skin looking zombies in resident evil, seeing this Neil started running towards the girl probably out of his chivalric spirit despite not knowing a shred about fighting. When Neil reached near the girl, he saw that all the zombie looking creatures attacking the girl were dead and the girl was staring directly at him, embarrassed that the girl didn't even need him Neil blushed as he waved his hand toward the girl. The girl seeing Neil waving his hand towards her suddenly started running towards him and arrived right before him, as Neil was about to open his mouth to speak the girl landed a chop at Neil's head instantly making him unconscious.

Destruction plagued the land after the nuclear war that caused the collapse of human society.

Those who managed to live on had to live in hunger, amidst violence, sleeping with the fear that today might be their last day. An apocalypse where not only does monsters such as zombie and mutants plague the land but the inner monster of human have been unleashed.

But for Max this place was heaven, a massive treasure chest right for plundering.

Karl looked at the black window that was in front of him.

[Your God has chosen to transcend, leaving this universe without a god. Due to this, the system will pick someone to become the new god.]

Karl rubbed his eyes, checking to see if he was hallucinating. It was still there. Karl reached out and tried to touch the window, but his hand went through it. 

"I'm going crazy. I must've read too many system novels, and now this is happening," Karl said, staring at the black window. After a while, the window disappeared, and a new one appeared in front of him.

[Congratulations! Out of the numerous sentient life forms in this universe, you were picked to become the new god. You will now be transported to your console.]

Karl laughed. "I really must be going cra-"

As he was talking to himself, a white spot appeared in the middle of the window. Karl squinted his eyes, looking at the white spot that wasn't there before. The spot grew bigger, and bigger until the window was all white. It was bright, but his eyes adjusted to it. The white window started leaking white, covering the whole room in white, except Karl.

"What.... the.... fuck..." Karl said, looking around, and seeing his room turn white. Eventually, his whole room was white, and he was sitting on the floor. Or was there even a floor? Everything was so white it blinded his eyes. He stood up, looking all around him.

 [Welcome to your console. It's quite empty right now, but this is where you'll manage your universe. Every aspect of the console can be controlled by you. You can create anything you want in the console, but bringing it into your universe will cost points.]

"Am I a god?" Karl asked, looking at the window in front of him.

[Yes you are. The universe that you knew is gone now. Whenever there's a new god, the universe is reset. As the new god, please name your universe. Choose carefully as fellow gods will be able to see this.]

It finally sunk into him that he was a god now. Everything that has happened can only be explained if this is all true. Now that he was a god, he had to name his universe. He was going to make the best universe, better than the universe the old god made. He thought long and hard about the name. He wanted the name to be cool. His eyes lit up, realizing what name he wanted.

"I shall name my universe, Nui," Karl said, confidently.

[You are naming your universe, Nui. Are you sure?]

"Yes, I am."

Karl looked at the options below and considered his choices. He didn't want a futuristic world, and he didn't want to make a custom one, at least not right now. In the end, he chose the game-like world. It was the fantasy world, but everyone had a system. "Game-like world please."

"Alright, that sounds pretty cool. I'll choose that one."

"Yes please!" Karl said, with no hesitation. He always wanted magic.

[The Imagination system lets inhabitants of the world use their imagination to use magic. But this comes with a downside. Their attacks are usually weaker than other systems.]

[The symbol system allows the inhabitants of the world to draw symbols with magic. Different symbols have different effects. Since you have to draw the symbols, this kind of system is usually stronger than other systems.]

Karl rubbed his chin, thinking which one would be good. In the end, he chose the symbol system. "Symbol system please."

Karl was your typical teenager. He hated homework and was absolutely obsessed with videogames. The only thing that might come close to that was his obsession with webnovels. They were just so addicting. He stayed up day, and night, playing and reading his webnovels. One day, as he was laying down on his bed, and reading a webnovel, a black window popped up in front of him, similar to something you'd see in a game.
