Life has always had it's funny ways of choosing the obstacles an individual had to face. It's like it enjoyed the stress and complications that came with the obstacles. Almost like a toddler finding entertainment from a bug getting squashed.

Maybe that's why students needed assemblies like these. Where teachers throw pretentious quotes such as  'To achieve your goals you have to have a purpose', or some bullshit like that. Many students hated the pretentious quotes and also hated how fake the teachers were when it came to caring about student's dreams. If it wasn't a logical dream or a dream that doesn't need the foundation of academics, throw it away.

That's why so many faces held no emotions as the head of the school went on and on about achieving your goals and what page of the communist manifesto by Karl Marx he was on.

A certain someone seemed especially dead that day. His ear length brown hair messy and unkempt. The bags of death under his eyes more prominent than one would like it to be. It was truly a sight. He looked like someone had ran him over numerous to get some sort of point through his head.

A myriad of different reasons could be explored as to why the boy looked the way he did.  A student next to him was playing an imaginary air guitar to the imaginary sound of Evanescence's 'Bring me to life'. A goofy grin crossed the pale face of the student next to him.

"You like you've been through hell Min-jae." The air guitar player spoke. The browned haired boy next to him sighed discontent with the situation he was in. "You'd look like shit if your rich, stick fucking father banned any form of musical acts, Yuri."

Yuri laughed at the the insults hurled at the latter's father. "That's sounds awful. What caused the sudden banishment of melodic sounds in your house." "Not being able to tell the difference between Othello and Macbeth." Yuri started laughing really hard, gathering the attention of everyone in the hall.

"Mr Choi , would you like to share what you find funny." Yuri stood up, his black bowl cut jumping at the action. "It's not as interesting as the social construct that is spoken about in the communists manifesto, Head Master." This earned giggles here and there.

"Sit back down mister." Yuri sat down and whispered to Min-jae, "We'll talk after assembly." 

It's sure was going to be a long day.

     "She wasn't alright since that new girl arrived! She finds her weird" Lufan says
     "Weird? How funny! She looks cute to me!" Jiang says
      "Is that true? You find her weird?" Kai questions her.
But before Yue could answer, the bell rang. Everyone went back to their seats.
    "What's wrong Yue?" Kai asks Yue 
    "Uhmm! That is- (her maths teacher entered and started taking class)" Yue struggles to finish her sentence.
   "So, that's how you solve this equation!" The teacher says
The bell rang and it was History period. The class went very fast. It was already P.E period. Kai, Sora and Jiang went to play basketball. Lufan went to play badminton. Yue was left alone. She was sitting in the stairs and was watching her friends play.
    "Kai is so handsome isn't it?" Ai asks Yue and sits next to her. 
    "Yeah!" Yue replies
    "How long were you dating Kai?" Ai asks her curiously
     "Uh! How did you know?" Yue asks her
   "Uhm..That is-" Sora came and sat next to them all of a sudden. Ai didn't finish her sentence. She left leaving them alone. Before she could leave, Yue stood up and shouted
    "Meet me at the rooftop during lunch!" Yue shouted to Ai. Ai noded and left. Sora was confused about what was happening.
    "What's all this commotion about?" Sora asks.
     "Huh! Sora, I want to tell you something important! Come with me!" Yue says as she grabs his wrist and takes to the rooftop.
     "What you want?" Sora asks
    "Sora, I'm dating Kai! I'm sorry for not informing you about it. (She bows her head) Forgive me!" Yue says to Sora
Sora knew about it already. He acted as if he doesn't know about it for many days. He pranked Yue like he was sad.
   "Uhm... Is it? I'm your best friend... You didn't tell me about it! (starting crying but it was fake tears)" Sora started acting
   "I didn't want to hurt you that's why I didn't tell you. (Hears Sora chuckling).... Ayee!! Was it a prank?" Yue shouts at him
   "You think I don't know about it! (giggling).... You're damn funny Yue!" Sora laughs
    "Hate you!! (walks away)!" Yue says
   "(puts his hands over Yue's shoulder)... Hey! Brush it off! Let's go and eat! I'll give you treat!" Sora says
    "Promise?" Yue asks
   "Promise!" Sora replies
They both went to the ground and joined their group. 
   "Where were you both?" Lufan questions them.
     "Rooftop! Yue said something that I knew already" Sora says
    "What? Did she say that Kai and She are dating?" Jiang asks
    "Yeah! She thought we doesn't know about it! Weird girl!" Sora says
     "That means... You guys knew it before?" Kai exclaims
    "Of course Yes! We are your friends Kai. How can we not know about this?" Lufan says
    "We are sorry guys! We thought that you'll feel bad about it." Yue apologies
   "It's okay! Bell is going to ring soon. Where should we eat?" Jiang asks
   "Hmm... I'm sorry! I wouldn't able to join y'all for lunch!" Yue says
    "Why?" Kai asks
    "She's gonna speak about an important thing to Ai" Sora says

The bell rang and she finished explaining everything to them. Kai was freezed by what she said.

      "Does she know about it?" Sora asks
    "I don't know about it... But I need to ask her about it. Bye guys! I'll go!" Yue says and starts walking
      "Let us also come!" Kai says
   "Yeah! We want to know about it too" Lufan says
Yue nods and everyone follows her. They all hid in the stairs. Ai was waiting.
     "Sorry for making you wait.... Ai Qi" Yue says politely
      "It's okay, Ying Yue" Ai said with a smirk

"Is that so?" Seungwoo's face suddenly turned pale, "Then why are the lights still flickering?"
My face turned blank as I tried to process the whole thing. The remote control was already in Seungwoo's hands. Even though he wasn't doing anything with it, the lights keep on turning on and off.
What on earth is happening here?
The lights stopped flickering, I stared at Seungwoo intently, and he was still there facing the door. All I can see is his back, but it seemed like he was calmer than before. I was the one who did the ghost prank, but I guess I got pranked by the ghost instead.
"Kim Seungwoo," I slowly approached him and tapped his shoulder. "Did the ghost do that?"
Fear was suddenly creeping up. He was still silent, and all I could see was the back of his head and his prominent jawline. The air conditioner suddenly went really cold, it was supposed to generate heat because of the cold season. Seungwoo slowly turned around, his dimples were now unseen, he was wearing a poker face. He simply stared at me as nothing happened.
"Hey," I tapped his shoulders again. "Answer me, please?"
He was staring at my face for a few seconds until it seemed like something behind me caught his eyes. His eyes widened as he tried to point out something behind me using his trembling left hand. His eyes described something he shouldn't have seen, and as if I was hypnotized, I turned around to look at where he was pointing out. 
 I felt scared. I scanned everything that appears in my sight but saw nothing. Everything was in the same place. I couldn't see any shadow or any soul. All I could see were the tables, the chairs, and the air conditioner. For some unknown reason, I felt really scared. Chills ran down my spine as if all of my senses awakened. Every time I hear the hissing sound of the air conditioner, I got the shivers again, this time with the little goosebumps on my arms that appear when I get that sensation.
I turned to look at him again.
"Got ya," he grinned, showing off his dimples playfully, and stuck out his tongue. "I got ya, Suji."

"Did you get scared?" Seungwoo asked as he tried to tuck his seat into the desk. I am standing in front of him, near the whiteboard as we have compromised that I should present all of the chosen quotes before he recommends a place that we will visit.
