Although Han and Night Walker never met and they had only just chatted online via the dark net, Han could still feel that Night Walker was full of passion just from their short chat. Han thought that this was probably the feeling one gets from a mentor, all the achievements Han earned on the dark net, Night Walker was a pivotal contributor.
Soon enough, Night Walker had sent Han a list. Along with tons of medicine, potions and pills, Night Walker also gave Han a free light medicine storage box suitable to carry during combat, a free medical theory textbook, and topped it off with free shipping. The bill only came to a total of 6700 GC.
Han was quite surprised, the Night Walker is a really interesting guy, not only did he pick out the most suitable products, he also gave him a storage box, a book on the basics of medicine, and free shipping.
Han had been doing the index number for this industry for a long time, so he knew really well that the price Night Walker charged him was about half of the market price, it was probably his production price!
Han anxiously refused, "It's too cheap! I can't take this deal."
Night Walker laughed and replied, "Why not? The margin on medicine is pretty high so you don't have to worry. Making a few thousand more GC won't make a different to my current financial situation, so just see it as a friend helping out another. Don't worry, I'm not making a loss at all."
Han reluctantly nodded, "I guess that's fine, I will definitely remember your help!"
Night Walker also gave Han a dark net link, "Check this site carefully, it probably has what you need. The owner is a strange fellow, if you approach him yourself you will probably be ignored. But don't worry, I've added you to my list of important clients, he should answer you after he sees that."
He continued, "The Dark net is very complicated, the majority of the websites need to be introduced between close networks. What you see on the forums are all the smallest of the smallest, the more powerful the website and organization, the deeper they hide on the dark net."
Han gave his address to Night Walker and thanked him again. Then he turned around and rushed right to the website suggested by Night Walker.
The website was called the Origin of Ten Thousand Paths (OTTP), the owner was called Pathless Origin. It sounded like he was bragging unblushingly that he was the number one in the study of martial arts paths in the entire Milky Way galaxy.
A lot of information on super powers and martial arts could be found on OTTP, and Pathless Origin's business was just selling different types of instructional devices for martial art styles and equipment.
In the current society, martial arts were sold not as a book but instead as a storage crystal. It uses the data-brain injection method to directly transfer the information into the brain, which makes it impossible to create pirate versions. Each crystal was unique and becomes obsolete after first use.
The martial art crystals and equipment sold by Pathless Origin all had unknown origins. The battle equipment was layered with dust, and a lot of the weapons were covered in dried dark red blood stains.
Han took a look around. The things Pathless Origin sold were all the real deal, and the price was pretty cheap too. A fiber equipment set suitable for two star espers only costed 3000 GC. Han checked out the other stores before and saw that the same set of equipment would have costed at least ten thousand GC.
The weapons were fairly priced too, an enhanced tritanium dagger only cost 1000 GC.
Han's account still had a balance of 11300 GC, subtracting the 6700 GC from buying the medicines, he still had 4500 GC left over which was just enough to buy a set of equipment and a weapon from Pathless Origin.
But Han wasn't in a hurry to decide. There were tons of free information here that Han was interested in.
Han started looking carefully through the pile of data, but there was nothing on Void End so he could only look at power immunity which was quite similar to Void End.
Power Immunity was actually a lot weaker than Void End because it could only nullify the enemy's super power attacks. The higher the level, the stronger the immunity. But Void End could completely deprive others of their power and once the user progresses in level he can also create a void zone in which everyone will be powerless regardless of their level.
Pathless Origin arrogantly calls the things he wrote as "The ultimate review", radiating the confidence of being a martial art master.
This was what he wrote on the power immunity file, "Stupid people! They all think power immunity espers should use guerilla warfare technique, long ranged attacks, and be agile and flexible. Wrong! Very wrong! Little do they know, power immunity is the cruelest ability in existence, the chosen ones with such ability must practice martial arts!"
"Martial Art users are practicing techniques with their lives on the line! Fight to kill! Hit every punch! Trade eye for eye! Only surrender in death!"
"Without such a mindset, it is impossible to become elites."
After finishing reading the review, Han was astonished. Fight to kill, hit every punch, trade eye for eye and only surrender in death?! This simple 16 (Chinese) word review captured the essence of the immunity power. Take Han for example. Although he could nullify other people's powers, what happens after? Even though you don't have any powers, I won't have any powers too. The only course of action left was just stabbing at each other with knives or something.
At that moment, the result will be determined by who was better at martial arts, who was more merciless and not afraid of death!
So the espers with an immunity type ability could only undergo the cruelest training method, practice superior martial arts, and rely on the strategy of first taking away the enemy's power, and then killing them in close combat.
Han took a look at the owner's review on other powers, and all reviews started with the same sentence, "Stupid People!". It sounded like as if no one else was competent enough to do reviews and only he spoke the truth.
Regardless of how arrogant Pathless Origin was, it didn't affect Han's opinion of him. All his reviews were on point, which showed Han a clear path to follow for the future.
After looking at the reviews Pathless Origin wrote on other powers, Han began to pick the equipment and weapons he needed.

Drugs, slaves, firearms, uranium, bioweapons, rare animals, human testing, assassination, and the list goes on. During the year of 2075 on Earth, Han Lang logged into the largest hyperspace dark net market, and our story begins.

1 FEBRUARY, MONDAY, GEOGRAPHY
Now that I knew my days in Winderhill was numbered, I felt more inclined to write about it in my diary. All the things I had taken for granted. I thought I would have to last four years here, now it seems it would end in less than four months.
Our Geography teacher was Mr Lark. He wasn't very larky though. I would say he was a man of large circumference.
Mr Lark's idea of teaching was to tap on a random desk. The occupant of the desk would then have to stand up and read a paragraph of the text book while he patrolled our desks. He would then make a comment or two, and then tap whichever desk he found nearest to him. The next paragraph would be read aloud while he walked. 
It wasn't easy for him to walk between our desks, due the passage way required for a man of his girth to pass through unhindered. But Mr Lark was a dedicated teacher and a narrower passage would not deter him. He would simply plough through it anyway.
Mr Lark was human of course. I did say from the very beginning that humans were quite interesting. I'm going to miss the interesting humans when I stop coming to Winderhill. The Lorent Girls' Academy was a full Lycan school. Far be it for the Lorents to allow humans to pollute their precious princesses.
Mr Lark had passed me and was now struggling to make his way back to the front of the classroom. I took out my phone and googled for information about the Lorent Girls' Academy.
There were a lot of photos of the school.
Of all the packs in the Green Packlands, only the Lorents had their own pack school - and with all Lorent complexities, they actually had five registered schools:
The Lorent Elementary and Middle School which served K1 to Grade 8
The Lorent High School which was a high school for Lorent males only
The Lorent Academy which was a high school for ELITE males, and had only about 20 students in total.
The Lorent Girl's Academy which was founded and spearheaded by Lady Amber, originally for the Lorent girls to continue high school education, but became more of a princess prep school and expanded to a school about 200 student princesses from all around the continent.
The Lorent College which was a medical school opened to only lycan with healing powers.
And the five schools shared the same huge sprawling compound with stone buildings and manicured lawns.
They also shared the same website. I tapped on the girls school for more information. To my surprise, there was a tapping sound on my desk. I looked up to see Mr Lark hovering over me. He was still looking at his own textbook, so he hadn't seen my phone.
I couldn't believe I didn't notice my super-sized human teacher. I guess I was really sucked into the screen.
I automatically stood up, closing the book over my phone so that it was hidden within the fold of my book.
"Cities can grow..." Mr Lark prompted.
Or perhaps he had seen me using my phone and was just directing me back.
With that clue, I found the right paragraph easily enough, "Cities can grow..." I finished reading the paragraph and sat down, dropping my phone onto the floor in the process.
Henry picked it up and tossed it over. Mr Lark continued walking as if he hadn't heard anything happening behind him.
"Thanks." I mouthed. I noticed Marcus on his phone. Now that I was looking around the class, I realized most of the kids were on their phones, or generally doing something else.
I turned my screen back on.
"Remember, cities can grow like people do. Some of you are still growing vertically, the rest of us are growing horizontally." Mr Lark patted his stomach and laughed at his own joke.
I looked at the photos about the Lorent's Girls' School. There were pictures of the girls standing or sitting together around the school, laughing or talking. 
Their school had a uniform. It was almost all white except for the emblem embroidered in red thread. and Henry wasn't kidding when he said their skirt was short. Even in the official photos posted on the school website, their skirts ended mid thigh. But the Lorent Ceremony dress for maidens was also a very short and white dress, so actually, it wasn't all that shocking.
Besides the school uniform, the girls all had a certain air. I began to understand why it was called a princess prep school. Many of these girls graduated and become mates of extremely distinguished Lycan. The school website had a list of alumni mated to various high profile wolves around the the continent.
Well, maybe this is the official hype. I went on to look for their school in the new app Marcus had downloaded for me. I found their equivalent to Winderhill's Grapevine, they called it A Little Bird. I guess from the saying, "A little bird told me."
Well their little bird spoke volumes in pictures. And a picture was worth a thousand words right? So technically, I was looking at an entire novel.
The skirts shown in Little Bird's channel were even shorter than the ones on the official website. But that wasn't the point.
The point was the girls there looked scary perfect. They looked like Lolas and Haylees... but more assertive. And they all  came with a string of pedigrees and accolades from famous parents, beauty pageant winners, award winning talents. And the photos showed all kinds of competitions, some of them I had never even heard of: ballroom dancing, theatre, art exhibitions, baking, poetry, calligraphy...
One of the girls there looked really familiar. She was tagged as the shining queen of the school and was in her senior year. She featured a few times because she would be starring in some famous theatrical production at the King's Theatre this weekend.
Oh wait! It was Oprah! Oscar's sister! Ben's cousin! The one who made Lizzy cry. The one Estella and Esmeralda tricked to babysit Eddy for them. I stared hard at the photo, no doubt beneath the selfie filters, it was her!
There were also a lot of photos of guys. All the guys looked the same though. Oh wait, they were the same few guys. The one that appeared the most often was a sullen dark haired guy, the girls called him the "cute new brother" and a blond haired serious looking older guy, "Student President". Neither of them looked happy about being photographed.
The girls often referred to these guys as from their brother-school, the Lorent Academy (the elite one, not the normal Lorent High School). I decided to read up on that too.
It seemed that the Lorent Academy was sharing a building with the less elite Lorent High School. There were about twenty students in total and they studied in a mixed grade classroom. They were easily differentiated by their dark red jackets. It was like a school of Henrys.
There was a alumni page, and their accomplishments. None of the Lorent Academy guys had lame achievements like mating someone important. They were the important ones that the Lorent girls should aspire to mate with. I found Mate's name there. He graduated last year, and according to the website was "Lorent Pack's future alpha."
Ki was also there. He graduated a few years earlier so I had to scroll a bit more. His full name was Killion Oran. What a strange family name.
The website marked him as deceased in his senior year. He never graduated?
There were a shocking number of deceased alumni, including a few who passed on while still a student in the school. I remembered Alpha James saying that Killion's wasn't the only home Beta Lorent had attacked with the lethal combination of white roses, wolf bane, and armed rogues.
I looked for Charles' and Anthony's names. They weren't listed as Alumni, so I guess they were still students there... And still alive.
Oh wait, never mind the boy's school! I've got my own problems. 
I texted my mum, "Is it confirmed that I'm going to the Lorent Girls' Academy next term?"
Maybe I misunderstood. Maybe I was only transferring next year. Maybe I'd rather face vampires head on than Lycan princesses.
Mum texted back pretty quickly.
MUM: Aren't you supposed to be in class?
Oh right. I suppose I was.
I heard a camera shutter. Marcus just took a picture of me.
I texted him: What are you doing?
B.MARCUS: Saving ur butt. Ur B needs proof u r in class. U're welcome.
This was followed by a text from Mum
MUM: Pay attention in class. Yes. Your dad has already signed the papers. We can talk more when you get home.
I turned off my phone and put it under my desk. Then I flipped my textbook to the right page and listened as Ivan read about urbanization. As each paragraph got read, I thought about the Princess Town and how it might grow.
It helped keep my mind off the prospect of going to a new school next spring.
Ironically, I was returning to the Green Packland, but after schooling with humans for so many years, I honestly didn't really know much about full Lycan schools. I definitely didn't know anything about a girl school. I usually got along better with the guys... Not poetry writing, ballet dancing, tea drinking princesses.
Arugghhhh... What was this feeling? Like butterflies in my stomach. Oh... I was scared. What if I didn't know how to make new Lycan friends? What if I couldn't fit in? What if I couldn't pass the entrance exam? What if I messed up big time? What if I get bullied? What if I get bullied without even knowing I was being bullied? Omo
I didn't want to change schools, and I definitely didn't want to go to the Lorent Girls' Academy. I might end up listed in their alumni as deceased too! Died from extreme failure.

No wait, I'm the alpha. I can take it. They were just girls. This was a school, not a beauty contest... Who was I kidding? I'm not particularly smart either. I'm doomed.
No! I can't give up so easily. I'll just have to work hard now at becoming more ladylike, right? Piece of cake... Unless it's baking a piece of cake and not just eating it. I might have a bit of a problem there. I'm doomed.
No! No! What's the worst that could happen? All the Lorent girls hate me, I fail every subject, and everyone is disappointed in me... Mate becomes so embarrassed by me that he rejects me. I'm doomed.

No wait - that won't work either. Think, Sam, think! You can do better than that!
And then I got it. I would have to fight their way. They like to wear short skirts - I'll wear it shorter than any of them, wait no, no way I can do that. But I will wear it cuter.
I will wear the uniform cuter. I will learn to do my hair prettier. I will... Whatever it was that those Lorent girls had to do, I'll do it better.
I'm the Alpha. I won't go down without a fight!
Even if it's cooking! I'll cook better and look cuter while doing it too! 
Yeah...right. Reality bites.
The last bell rang. I stuffed everything on my desk into my backpack. I just wanted to go home and get under the shower. I needed to think, and research too. I was going to survive my new school next term.
"Don't forget to start memorizing your lines!" Henry said.
"Don't forget Valentine's Day is next week!" Abigail shouted over the din.
"Don't forget, Matt and Jules asked you to meet them at the station later." Marcus said.
"Don't forget we're having lunch at the new picnic area tomorrow!" Jasmine called out to me.
"Don't forget to collect your geography worksheet before you go!" Liam shouted at the class in general.
I popped out of the classroom. First one out! Then I made a dash out of the school.
"Oh she's out already." Commented Krystal at the classroom door.
Zara paused to watch, "She runs like a madman."
But I didn't hear anymore. I was free! Free! The best thing about school is the last bell and how no matter what was happening, it would all end at the last bell.

I had to miss a couple of school days this week due to my ah, long term bout of "anemia". It's been pretty intense at home. My alpha position was challenged, rogues burnt down our home, I rescued my first fight dog, discovered the Lorent's secret oracle, almost rescued my mate...and accidentally stumbled into my Alpha Dad's secret.

My worlds collide as some members from my pack come to my school to sell concert tickets. And when Grandpa Alpha shocked us all by dying, my dad's family comes together to pay their last respects at the Night Forest Pack.

It's February and the Vampire Queen is celebrating her birthday. Would Rebel's plan to escape work out? Meanwhile, I'm stuck in school dealing with high school drama, an evolving wolf, and a new human sister. In the Red Packlands, war nearly breaks out. It's the week of Valentine's Day, but I've got a highschool play, Lorent drama, Vampire slaying training, and an underground army to deal with first. And then warlock weather threw an extended snowstorm at us. The whole of Green Packlands goes into lockdown - but what about Valentine's Day?

Exams are a week away, and it feels like my time at Winderhill is really coming to a close. I'm trying to be a good student, but there are paparazzi camped outside my school, I ran with rogues (I'm shocked too), Maria just had to enter her dark cycle in school...My life is too exciting to study for exams.

VOL 8
It's exam week, but I've got far greater problems brewing at home. The prophecies are merging. River's stone had unlocked warlock trouble, the rogue king has moved in, and then there's Uncle Louis' economical problems... one at a time. Just let me survive Code Black and figure out what's going on at Heller's first, and I'm sure everything else will work out somehow.

Handed the serial number, Second Uncle didn't know how to respond. Second Aunt got busy. Folks from their generation had all served, so they knew where to look up an assignment.
After she found the official website, Second Aunt entered the numbers and letters in the serial number. When she was done, she triple-checked her input before hitting enter. Then she gazed at the computer screen waiting for the result. 
When Second Uncle saw the result, he questioned his eyesight. He checked the website. It was the right one. It was where they had checked their assignments when they served.
"This... This..." Second Uncle looked at the result then looked at Fang Zhao. He couldn't manage a complete sentence. Fang Zhao had changed so much in six years. He could understand the change in personality—that wasn't uncommon. Six years was enough to transform someone's personality, but not anyone could swing a preferential military posting with a phone call. 
Fang Yu joined the scramble to check the search result. The length his jaw dropped revealed how surprised he was.
"Company perk for Memorial Day," Fang Zhao said.
"Your company hands these out as perks?" It was the first time Fang Yu had heard of such a thing. Even though past events had soured his impression of Fang Zhao, his cousin was now helping him out, and he couldn't give him simple, perfunctory attention any more. He was in an awkward position. He was also curious how Fang Zhao had secured the posting. People usually kept preferential postings for themselves. No one handed them out so casually like Fang Zhao. 
Second Uncle and Second Aunt were wondering the same thing.
"Little Zhao, aren't you due to serve too? Why don't you keep the posting for yourself?" Second Uncle asked in a worried tone. "You may not understand the importance of a plumb posting, but let me tell you..."
"I still have one for myself."
Fang Zhao's comment left Second Uncle speechless. He paused before saying, with a confused expression, "That's... that's great." The hand with which he was carrying his glass was trembling. He wasn't as calm as he seemed.
One preferential posting was enough to blow them away. To think Fang Zhao had one more.
"Little Zhao, Second Aunt thanks you from the bottom of her heart," Second Aunt said while looking at Fang Zhao in earnest. "What a difference six years makes. You're your own man now. And to think that Second Uncle and I were worried that you would struggle at work. You must be much tougher than we'd thought. But even so, if there's anything you need, Second Uncle and I will do our best."
"Of course, of course. Little Zhao, if you need help with anything, don't be a stranger," Second Uncle added.
The huge favor that Fang Zhao had done for them left Second Uncle and Second Aunt at a loss. It finally dawned on them that the Fang Zhao of today wasn't the kid they used to know. He was someone in charge. 
"Little Zhao, Fang Yu will take you to your room. If you don't have anything else planned, do spend the night." Second Uncle wasn't particularly articulate. After mumbling a few orders, he joined Second Aunt in the kitchen. They ate takeout or instant food most of the year. There was a dazzling selection of instant food products in the New Era. When the couple was busy at work, they would order from the company cafeteria or have takeout or instant food. The kids ate at school. Only when the family reunited on holidays did the couple cook for themselves.
Second Uncle was in a great mood. First, the issue of Fang Yu's military assignment had been resolved. Second, Fang Zhao had turned out to be quite competent. He was delighted. After all, Fang Zhao was his nephew. As for how Fang Zhao had obtained the two preferential postings, if Fang Zhao wouldn't volunteer, they wouldn't press the matter either.
As Second Uncle and Second Aunt took in Fang Zhao's changes, Fang Yu took Fang Zhao to his room. His father had asked him to vacate his room for Fang Zhao the day before. He would bunk with his younger brother for the time being. Since leaving for university, Fang Yu hadn't spent much time at home. He didn't want to tidy up his room. He only put up appearances with his father breathing down his neck, so his room was still a bit messy.
"Uhm... let me clean up a bit." Fang Yu felt embarrassed. After Fang Zhao took care of his military assignment with two text messages, he had put his cousin on a pedestal.
Fang Zhao had only brought a small suitcase. Apart from the gifts for his uncle's family, he only brought two changes of clothes. He scanned Fang Yu's room. Much of the 20-odd square-meter space was cluttered, but his bookshelves were in neat order.
"Do you mind if I read your books?" Fang Zhao asked, pointing at the bookshelves.
"Feel free. I haven't read them anyway," Fang Yu responded.
The shelves were lined with mostly Fang Yu's secondary school textbooks. There were two types of secondary textbooks: paperbacks and the electronic versions.
Maybe it had something to do with the fact that electronic communications were jammed and telecom equipment occasionally malfunctioned during the end of days, but despite the rapid advancement of technology in the New Era, paperbacks were never completely retired.
Students used electronic textbooks for the most part. They were convenient, and physical books took up space. By graduation, their paperbacks were often intact. It was the same case with Fang Yu's textbooks. They were arranged on the top shelf as decoration. 
Fang Zhao pulled out a Secondary Two math textbook. The Secondary One and Secondary Two textbooks had been thumbed through somewhat, but the books for years three and onward were all brand new.
When he opened the textbook, he saw the first page inscribed with the large characters: "Fang Zhao is a major idiot." 
Fang Zhao: "..."
He flipped some more and discovered scribbles and drawings. Scanning his memory, Fang Zhao realized that, when Fang Yu was a second year, the original owner of his body had just graduated from secondary school. That was also when his relationship with Second Uncle and family was at its worst.
Fang Yu was under his father's tight supervision at the time. One ill-advised remark and he'd be confined to his room reading, so he vented by scribbling in his textbook.
When Fang Yu turned his head after tidying up, he noticed Fang Zhao holding his Secondary Two math textbook and caught a glimpse of the page he had turned to. Images of the insults he had scribbled as a second year came rushing back. He snatched the textbook and shoved it into a drawer. "Oh, I was a clueless brat back then."
Fang Yu was so embarrassed he wanted to hide under a rock. Just half an hour ago Fang Zhao had secured him a preferential military posting, and now he was staring at an insult directed at him scribbled in Fang Yu's Secondary Two math textbook.
Fang Zhao actually wasn't upset. "Decent drawing," he said.
From his point of view, considering what went down between the original owner of his body and the Fang family, Fang Yu wasn't off the mark. But the original owner was no longer around, so Fang Zhao refrained from passing judgment on past events.
Fang Yu didn't want to discuss the past and his previous grievances anymore. He pondered briefly and said, "Oh, Big Brother, are you going to visit Great-Grandfather and Great-Grandmother on Memorial Day?" He remembered that Fang Zhao would tag along with their family on their previous visits after his own parents passed. But after quarreling with his second uncle a few times, Fang Zhao had stopped going. He hadn't visited his great-grandparents since.
Fang Zhao canvassed his memory and found a bit of relevant information, but not much. He only had vague memories of the great-grandfather and great-grandmother that Fang Yu had mentioned. He only remembered the couple were the most senior members of the Fang family. They lived in a retirement home for former government officials in Yanbei. They should have been in their 150s, even older than Fang Zhao was in his previous life.
"Yeah, let's go," Fang Zhao said.
"Every time we visit, Great-Grandfather hands out red packets. You haven't been in 10 years, no? If you're on your best behavior, maybe Great-Grandfather will be impressed and give you all the red packets you were due for the past 10 years."
Great-Grandfather Fang had retired with merit. Even though he no longer retained his military title, he enjoyed a comfortable retirement package. He didn't have to worry about daily expenses and was entitled to a considerable pension.

"Old Fang, you're skipping your grandkids again?" a neighbor yelled from his window.
In a room equipped with quasi-antique decor, the spirited old man who sat in his chair leafing through a ledger responded, "Yes. They're so old. Even if I give them red packets, are they thick-skinned enough to accept them?"
"Then it's down to your great-grandkids and great-great-grandkids, then," the voice next door said.
"I'm thinking of skipping my great-grandkids as well. A bunch of little brats. None of them have amounted to anything," Great-Grandfather Fang fumed.
The old woman sitting next to him laughed.
"What are you laughing about? That's exactly what they are," Great-Grandfather Fang grumbled.
Great-Grandmother Fang went silent. Even though her old companion complained that none of his great-grandkids amounted to much, he always included every single one of them on his list, including Fang Zhao, who was alive and well but hadn't shown up in 10 years.
The old lady's laughter subsided when her thoughts drifted to her grandson and his wife who had died young and the great-grandson they hadn't seen in 10 years. I have one last exam. Only one, until i will finally complete my degree in Medicine. I have been interning as a nurse for the past year, yet the work for it never seemed to get smaller. And as the years of studies are coming to a close, and as of course as a 25-year-old, my bank account was dwindling to a near zero, and the number of student loans had piled up sky high. As much as I hate to admit it, I have to keep my silly job as a personal assistant, along with that of a doctor, just until my career starts up.

My phone rings loudly. It's Diether calling. 

"Hello." I answer. 

"Lexi, I just fired my bookkeeper. Please hire a new one, by the end of the day." He says into the phone. I groan. 

"Alright, I'm coming to the office." I sigh and He puts the phone down. He's so needy. Why can't he do it himself?

I put on a smart pair of black jeans and a white blouse, along with my black leather jacket. I grab the keys to my motorcycle. I grab my helmet and put it over my brunette ponytail. 

I started the bike, and kicked up the stand. I take my black helmet, buckled it tight, and direct my bike into the never ending traffic. 

I arrived at Davis Tower in no time. I walk over to my small office and sit down. I quickly put out a "Bookkeeper Wanted" advert on a career website and wait. I pull out my textbook and get in a bit of studying. In no time, someone phones the office. 

"Hello. This is Davis industries. How may I help you?" I answer. 

"I'm interested in the application for the job." A woman's voice sounds on the other end. 

"Good. Are you qualified as a bookkeeper?" I ask. 

"Yes, I have worked at multiple companies before doing bookkeeping for them." She says. 

"Okay. That's good. Please give me your name, send forward your resume, so that I can take a look at it. Are you free for an interview today?" I ask.

Lexi Loore is studying a degree in Medicine. All she has to do to finish the degree is write the exams. However, being a student comes with a lot of expenses and a lot of money Lexi does not have. She is in a large amount of debt, due to the piled up student loans, she has to use in order to pay for college. So, she started working as a personal assistant to Diether Davis for the past year, to try and pay off her studies, but things did not quite go to plan...

I shook my head. "Wake me up when it's time to go. I finished my homework in class." My arms snaked around him and I closed my eyes completely.
"Sleep tight," said my friend.
My hearing was already beginning to shut down. My conception of reality was diverting, transforming into a dream-like state. I barely felt his arms around me now, though I still felt his presence.
I took one last breath before my body shut down completely. I exhaled fully, and I didn't breathe in.
I never breathed in again.

Thank you for the extra chapter! For me, I feel like it's a little difficult to comment on the content of the chapters so far because they mostly amount to MC getting irritated and ML teasing him, which can get repetitive. That said, it's exciting to see a bit of a change here. Qin Xu went out of his way (unless his system is involved) to do something for Jiang Yang and then confronted him about his actions. I wonder if it's possible this is platonic or if it was that easy for him to get bent…
