An insight about the book 'Refuge' with Sajla Anees

"Refuge is a compelling story of love, faith, hope and perseverance in the war-torn Syria."

Poetic and audacious for someone as young as her, Sajla Anees swept thousands of feet by having created the book as a form of hope and sheer magic.

Ms. Anees is a Sri Lankan based Attorney-at-Law and a Published Author. Her writing experience was fueled by poems, prose and people around her dating back to her childhood from being a student at Methodist College to a student at the Sri Lanka Law College. Initially she started writing a few paragraphs in her college days and she takes the footsteps of her favourite authors by bringing this story to life. She feels relieved because she wanted to publish this book before death overtakes her.

"Alhamdulillah because I wanted to be an author ever since I was a child and I am happy I could pursue It." quotes Sajla.

As Sajla passes her life with 'rain, coffee and books', she had a very supportive family and helpful friends who were excited in her venture. In the process she learnt that people who love her are supportive and selfless; some of them helped her in ways that she never thought they would.

Writing a character isn't easy because you have to bring your imagination to life. There is a variety of goodness when it comes to a person's personality and one of them is Ahmar. As she sits at her desk penning down Noora's point of view, she edits the chapters 4 to 5 times until there are no grammar mistakes and she is satisfied with them. 'Sajla feels happy reading reviews and feedback on her novel, poems and prose.'

Alhamdulillah! Sajla has got all good comments and a few negative ones which she disregards in a beautiful way with the help of God. "When you do something for the sake of God then you shouldn't worry much about what people have to say" says Anees.

We encounter self doubts and hardships, Alhamdulillah Sajla has her close friends to talk with and help her. One advice she would like to share is that 'not everyone will like what you write, if it's meant to reach their hearts, it will.' Making Du'a has always been her "go-to" coping mechanism.

Sajla is reluctant to collaborate with other authors because she feels she wouldn't be able to give her best. A new book wouldn't be coming soon because Sajla hasn't found any inspiring topic yet.

Anees likes working according to a routine and in her monthly plan she had set goals on word limits for each day. A writing quirk of hers is that she thought about her characters even when she wasn't writing.

I met Sister Sajla at Sakeenah Institute, my workplace where she had come to deliver a spiritual lecture and I love her level of faith in God, she inspires people to follow the religion. The way she talks and the way she carries herself wherever she is, adds essence to her whole presence in this world.

When the world sends Prayers, Aids and Support to Syria, Sister Sajla supports them by publishing this fiction to bring awareness of the hardships undergone in the war-torn country and it is a matter that has to be spoken of. Sajla beautifully quotes "And will we not be held accountable in the court of Allah if we do nothing for our brothers and sisters who are being oppressed?" Ms.Sajla Anees wishes to express the central message of finding hope no matter how trying the situation is.

Finally, she conveys that "never allow negativity affect your passion. Keep going with sincere intentions!"

At the start of 6th grade, I'm in a new environment. I'm a 10 yr old city boy who has the thickest accent of a province boy. My new classmates were amazed on how I talk and often times they laugh at me. Yes, I'm already about 5 feet and 3 inches that time (quite big for a kid my age) but still acts as a 7 yr old boy. I just dont care what they say, I dont mind what they think. Im just happy to ask my Mom if she can buy me that Nintendo game and play Mario. My other uncle, Ted, will pick me up on Fridays after school and spend the weekends with my Dad and Grandmom. Sunday afternoon, Mom will pick me up or Uncle Ted will take me back to mom. That is how my life evolved for until I learned to commute by myself. And im not even a teenager yet. 

By the age of 10, I already tasted alcohol. My dad is what they call alcoholic and smokes 2 packs of cigarettes daily. One time, he asked me to buy him a pack of cigarette and I tried to light one and I just couldn't stop coughing. Teary eyed too. Since my dad's siblings are all boys, booze are common in our house. Boys night out everyday with them. They let me taste beer with the reason, its always better to learn to drink with family rather than others without consent and guidance. Maybe they are right, maybe they are wrong. Who cares, right? When Christmas and especially, New Year comes, I am always excited. Super excited. Family reunion is a thing for us and seeing them all together, with my Mom there also, was great. My Dad works as a legal arbiter for the province and since he has many connections, fireworks and such are always aplenty with us. They give us so many fireworks for free that they are having a hard time finding what to do to those things. Its like having a fireworks shop in our house during New Year. I would sneak up some firecrackers and give them away to my friends, to look cool of course. Just so you guys know, one of my fears is lighting any kind of firecracker. I'm afraid to use one. I just love looking at those things 

I bought 1 bottle of whisky, bought some crackers, and cooked some nasty "sisig" and watched a movie last New Year. My friends from highschool, from Bulacan, Bicol, Cavite, all greeted me and my family with Happy New Year and Merry Christmas quotes (Yes, quotes, with some memes and GIFS) and I blew a horn and jumped a couple of times (Yes, I do that every year since I was s kid) when new year arrived. And I was a little drunk also. That was also the same the past 4 yrs, although with different cracker and finger foods as well. Oh well...

I tried playing basketball in the 6th grade since I love it but I'm not as good as I thought I was. I'm akward. The school still got me to play for the team only because I was a little bigger than my classmates were, but I wasn't good enough to be part of the starting five. I was a bench player. And I'm so homesick. Anyway, the only consolation for me at that time was the Mall, a very big mall at that time, and I was there almost everyday. It's like a 10 minunte drive from our apartment and Mom would always have the time to take me there, and my sister as well whenever she is with us. 

But still, whenever I went to the province during weekends, I love the scent and the atmosphere there compared to the busy streets of the city. On my Mom's side, I have 2 boy cousins and they are really doing well in school. In fact, both have academic awards for excellence and they are such good boys. No vices at all. They don't even drink. Maybe because their mom, my Auntie, is a school teacher and a disciplinarian. Who knows, right? Anyway, since I was on my way to 1st year high, where do I want to go? By the way, I forgot to tell you that I may have played the piano well, I'm not good in school. I might be a C+ student, maybe a C- at some subjects. One of my cousin studied at Letran College, a school for boys, and very strict on grades. He also said that if ever I choose his school, he will look after me. It is also located a few meters from my Mom's office. 

Steve, my bestfriend, told me that our friends from grade school asks if I would be going back there since there is a basketball team being made by the school. I'm tall and said that my chances to be part of the team might be bigger since we are still growing. Besides, this is my home and my family and friends are here. My friends persuaded me to return but I just realized that who will provide for me when I am here? If I am going to stay here, what will Mom say and feel? Didn't we just went through with that stupid attorney? And also, I just found out something with my Dad which tore my heart into pieces.

"If we were meant to stay at one place, we would have been born with roots, not feet!" The quoted words echoed in my mind, roaming like an adrift boat meandering with the current of the ocean on the night of a storm, clashing with and against waves harsh, cold and intriguing, constantly reminding me of the time I had said that to my parents, before running away from home; escaping the only place that'd welcome me and be blind to my odds.
I wanted to travel. I wanted to get lost. I wanted to simply wander about and live through the adventures life can offer for us to experience. I did not want to sit in one place, wondering how it would be to "wander and get lost, swim and fall in love with the sea. Travel the world and be adventurous". Cliché enough but these said quotes yet still knew how to keep my spirit running, driving awake with allurement and temptation. But the more it all excited me, the least these inspired me. While I am latched onto finding an escape out of my misery, reality manages to find a way to keep my sanity collected, every damn time.
Just like my hand maiden would tighten my dress with all her might to keep my waist tight and small, purposely for me to resemble an hourglass and be fitted enough to be able lure suitors of the other nations to come court me and help expand our dominance and territory for the advantage of the King of Amsden, Royal Ambrose's valley. Similarly, the cooks in the house would lay out a feast for the guests and in contrast bring me just a cup of tea and bread for breakfast to keep me going for the day...or, more like never letting me change into a figure that wouldn't attract the wooer who'd advantage my parents after a marriage that'd take place against my will.
I'd grown up watching fairytales where princesses would meet their 'Happily Ever After', after facing a great deal of adventures and drama.  But I wonder if I were to live such a life. I'm beginning to belief that I'm growing into a side character in my own life. I am losing authority over myself, as if I'm a puppet with strings that is left for people to control. At least, in fairytales the princesses know how to fight and have an happy ending to look up to. While here on the other hand that is to be defined as reality, people are taking a dominance over me freely while leaving me no freedom to speak or fight against it.  This was never how I pictured life to turn out or would ever to continue as.
And so I had set my mind to take mastery over my own life and not let people control me anymore. As if, I had nothing to lose, but a world to see; I was set to making memories, not dreadful regrets that would haunt me for life. Beautiful memories that will make me feel accomplished in life. I did not just want to be alive, I crave to live! Albeit maybe I did choose a hard path for myself, but sometimes only difficult roads lead to beautiful destinations.
So right now, even if I'm lost, trembling in fear, I'll believe I'm on a great adventure; of finding myself and what I really want. Because sometimes in your travels, you're not lost, scared, wondering why you left the comforts of home. Half of the fun of travelling is the aesthetic of lostness.

In fairy tales, there's always a Prince Charming and a bad guy. In this story, the prince Charming is the bad guy.

Shortly after saying farewell to Nojiko at the party, Cross had found Chabo and convinced him to join the party for some time. He wanted to get a little closer to Chabo because Nojiko seemed protective of the child for some reason. Cross believed that forming a friendship with the kid will surely raise his chances with the beauty.

"Hey Chabo, don't fret! In fact, … Everyone! As your host, I would like to have your undivided attention!"

Cross raised his voice to gather everyone's attention. 

"I would like to end this night by telling you a story… so everyone come and take seats around me! Also, make sure to keep some booze and bites handy with you!"

Everyone didn't know how to react to Cross's words, as his body was visibly swaying from being drunk.

"Ooh I love Cross's stories! They're the absolute best!"

Noelle jumped happily and rushed to get some food and drinks before sitting near Cross. Everyone became more curious after seeing her enthusiasm and slowly did the same.

"I would like to tell you a story on hope, love, and struggle…! A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, a farm boy named Luke Skywalker…"

Zapppp… Suddenly, Cross produced a large projection in the sky, literally made of lightning. It was a projection of a small boy, presumable Skywalker, finding a space droid with a message. This was the first time Cross was careless enough to show his powers to such a large audience.

"Ahhhhh!"

"What is this?!"

Everyone panicked, and a few fell from their seats.

"Don't worry everyone! This is a new technology in the outside world… just sit back, relax, and enjoy the show… don't sweat on the small stuff."

Cross had used his devil-fruit powers to send calming sounds right into people's ears. Fortunately for him, people's nerves were already calm enough from being really drunk. 
…

Some comments throughout the show…

"Fuck the empire… they're exactly oppressive like the Arlong pirates…"

"Ooh, I'm going to train just like how Luke Skywalker did…" Chabo said, clenching his fist with determination.

…

"Aah, that Han Solo's Wookie companion's so cute. I want one friend like that Cross!"  Noelle's eyes glittered, and she set her mind towards bothering Cross for one later.

…

"Whatttt, it's actually his father…! No way!"

"This death star is like Arlong's beast that destroyed the Goso village.

"Yayy…! The resistance has won! Wohoooo!"

…

After 3 hours of drinking and watching such an inspiring tale, everyone was in high spirits. They discussed and compared their situation with the Star Wars movie

It was unknown whether Cross wanted to inspire them or just narrated a random movie for his entertainment; regardless, it was a night he won't remember.

"Guys… watching this story. I feel like we all need to do something about Arlong!" A villager said. 

"Y-Yeah, we should totally go and kill him now!"

"For the rebellion!"

All the drunk villagers had the same crazy idea all of a sudden. The idea also started sounding really inviting to Cross, who was itching to let lose some of his powers. Luckily, there was one person there who was still sober.

"Cross… isn't this a little too much… we will die trying to rebel." Chabo said.

"Do or do not. There is no try."

Cross shamelessly plagiarized quotes from a famous someone. Consequently, all the drunk villagers applauded with enthusiasm.

"I still don't know exactly what it means but… For the rebellion!"

"Fuck Arlong Pirates…. For the rebellion!"

The drunk villagers carried Cross into the air and started chanting rebellion quotes.

"Cross, do you think we can do this?" Chabo clenched his jaw, vengeance returning into his mind. 

All the drunk villagers turned their heads towards Cross, waiting for their pseudo-captain for a decision.

"Mwah ha… I find your lack of faith disturbing Chabo… This is a new day, a new beginning."

Cross's cheeks glowed from pride for using so many Star Wars dialogues in one day.

Thus, all the drunk villagers with Cross as their leader headed towards the Arlong Park. Cross ordered a few things from Noelle, who was watching the entire scene with pure amusement. Noelle reluctantly complied with Cross's demands, rushing to complete them before the main event starts.

Along the way to the park, some sober villagers had tried to stop Cross's rebellion. A few set up a blockade to prevent passage; however, they were eventually pushed aside by the aggressiveness of the drunk group.

Genzo, Nojiko, and Bellemere were watching the scene with wide eyes.

"Everyone, stop! Don't ruin everything we've done for the past 8 years!"

"Cross… what the hell are you doing?! You already know Arlong's tyranny!"

Genzo and Nojiko yelled at the group, their faces pale. They knew that if we went any further, we may never return.

"Everyone… Arlong, that two-bit manga villain is just torturing Nami with false promises. Join me to bring the asshole to justice. Give up false hope…. And for the rebellion!"

Uoooohhhhh!

For reasons unknown, Cross further reignited his drunk followers fighting spirits. Perhaps he was high on adrenaline and didn't care anymore for the consequences. As a result of his words, a few sober villagers including Dr. Nako joined his rebellion.

Finally, Nojiko, Bellemere and Genzo blocked Cross's path with their weapons unleashed.

"We won't let you go any further… You have to beat us to go ahead!"

Their strong determination stopped the charge for a second; however, Cross's group had been in anguish for too long to be stopped by something like this.

"It's no use… our hearts are set! I didn't believe Arlong from the start… I rather die than see Nami heartbroken when Arlong betrays her."

Dr Nano's facial muscles tensed, and he kept moving forward.

"Move out of the way you all! Let's go everyone and show them our spirits and hope."
Everyone charged at Cross's words. The trio had no choice but to knock out Cross, the leader, to stop the rebellion.  

Bhamm… Unluckily for them, Cross was too drunk and ran right into them. The massive difference between their physical strength effectively pushed them aside. Thereafter, Nojiko, Bellemere, Genzo gritted their teeth and followed Cross's group to the Arlong Park.

For the rebellion!!! The villagers marched.

Dark clouds gathered around as the 'rebels' approached the Arlong park. The clouds each carried dry lightning storms that contained up to hundreds of millions of voltage. These storms were being attracted to the violent intentions of a certain someone.

Soon the Arlong Park came into the the view of the rebels...

This is a story on the MC's slow demise into madness and the destruction that follows.

The MC is a transmigrator, and the owner of the Rumble-Rumble Fruit.

 Welcome back and long time no see! It has certainly been a while since I have written a review for a book, fiction, or nonfiction.
On today's list, we have the most recent book I have read, part of a tetralogy, the first volume of four.
My opinion (Spoiler-free): This book is beautiful, and the prose is astounding. Kate Griffin has done an amazing job, making me fall in love with not only the world but the characters as well. I recommend it with all my heart. So, without further ado, I will jump into a bit more detail, trying not to spoil the whole thing!
Title: "A Madness of Angels"
Genre: Urban Fantasy
Synopsis (taken from Amazon itself, so I will put it in quotes): 
"Two years after his untimely death, Matthew Swift finds himself breathing once again, lying in bed in his London home.
 
Except that it's no longer his bed or his home. And the last time this sorcerer was seen alive, an unknown assailant had gouged a hole so deep in his chest that his death was irrefutable...despite his body never being found.
 
He doesn't have long to mull over his resurrection, though, or the changes that have been wrought upon him. His only concern now is vengeance. Vengeance upon his monstrous killer and vengeance upon the one who brought him back."
 
 
So, as you can see, the book follows a sorcerer who comes back to life in unusual circumstances, a dude-with-a-problem story, mixed with why-dun-it for extra mystery! In the spirit of full transparency, the first few pages were a bit hard for me – elaborate sentences, and a general sense of vagueness – but once you get through them it's a complete joy ride. I have read the whole series – that's how much I have fallen in love with Matthew and his personality.
 
The only annoying thing I found was that there are only four books! I really wished she continues the series, instead of jumping to a new one but I do understand why she wanted to start another project. As a fellow writer, I salute you Kate, and wish you all the best! I have read some reviews about it on Goodreads, stating that she spends too much time detailing unimportant things, but I loved all of them. It painted a complete picture not only of the outside world but also of the inner turmoil Matthew is experiencing, without spoiling the mystery at all.
 
After reading this series, I even have had a hard time finding something equally good, which is a great sign for her and a bad one for me; how can I ever survive without my books?!
 
So, let's rate it, shall we?
 
Plot: 10/10 (Astounding idea)
Characters (development, arc, and all that fun stuff): 10/10
Worldbuilding: 9/10. Still amazing but, after reading the whole series, I do feel like the first book could have portrayed it even better! I should probably take into consideration that she wasn't super into the world herself, being the first volume, so I guess that, as a newbie, it's only natural not to be perfect at everything from the get-go).
Title: 10/10.  I loved the title; it builds the anticipation for the plot perfectly!
Pacing: 10/10, not too fast and not too slow.
Prose: 9/10. While at some moments her descriptions were a bit too elaborate, Kate has done an amazing job nonetheless.
 
I rarely get to gush about a book so much, but this one really gripped me and made me laugh. Matthew is so lovable and yet super relatable at times that it got me thinking about how this world of ours needs more magic! It's exactly what I love about fantasy and until this, I wasn't a big urban fantasy fan. My allegiance was with dark and high fantasy, but Kate proved me wrong so that is why I am fangirling over this so much!
 
Do keep in mind that this is my opinion and I am not a certified reviewer; I am just a bookworm sharing my thoughts on the books I have read so far! If you do decide to give this book a chance, I would be thrilled to hear your thoughts on it. Cheers and have a great reading session.

Sweets: 
Asashi loves candy, or anything sweet for that matter, always carrying some sort of sweet and savoury substance with him (usually sticks of gum), whenever he has a meal he would often add sugar, syrup, honey etc. On average he has a lollipop in his mouth or a stick of gum, as if it were an addiction, he gets aggravated if he doesn't have sugar for more than a day.

Animals: 
Asashi loves animals, usually spending time with them far more then actual people. He prefers dogs over cats but finds himself face pressed into his cats (mellowpuffs) fur. He also enjoys dangerous creatures such as snakes, spiders etc. His room has a series of cages filled with birds, critters and more, sometimes spending days in said room just to play with them.
"Why would I hang out with annoying humans, all they do is nag, demand and annoy.. when was the last time your dog called you a pig for finishing off the cereal.... it wasn't even me...."

Music: 
He wears a pair of ear phones where ever he goes, playing his favourite jams almost 24/7 if he didn't have to charge his phone. Even when he doesn't have his earphones in he is either singing or humming to himself to escape the silence. Being unable to focus without some sort of tune he usually Aces his tests while listening to his playlist.. however getting below average when he isn't listening to anything.
"Music is a way to express yourself without opening your mouth, if you close your eyes you can create amazing pictures with a simple melody being played"

Dislikes -

Family: 
Asashi completely hates family, or anything similar to it, he hates the word and everything associated with it (mother, father, brother, sister.) After being left in front of a Christian orphanage by his parents at the age of 6 he didn't have anyone but his two younger siblings. Asashi learnt to fend for himself shunning away all the adults that took him in as his foster parents. At the age of 8 Asashi's brother and sister were taken away to a seperate family leaving Asashi at the orphanage he was currently at..
"You can't trust anyone but yourself, they are all rats that use you for what you got, throwing you out the minute you are usless.."

Nagging/annoyance/pestering: 
Anyone would be pissed if they were pestered for long enough, but what would you do to make it stop? In Asashi's place he would kill whoever was doing so without much hesitation. Usually carrying some sort of weapon with him he makes it known that if you were to annoy him too much it would end badly for you. People usually steer clear of him, not that he cares.

Love: 
Having never experienced love Asashi becomes jealous when he sees anyone showing even a hint of it, his most hated day being Valentines in which he usually locks himself in his room. Never being loved by a family nor by a partner Asashi likes to interrupt others when they are about to commit a love act, (about to kiss before Asashi throws stones.)
"Love is stupid, I don't understand it nor have experienced it, so what's so special about it? Seeing others getting all lovey-dovey makes me want to vomit"

Background:
Asashi was left by his parents at the age of 6 along with his two younger siblings Felix (brother) and Eva (sister). Learning that humans are disgusting creatures Asashi would be seen in the forest near his orphanage attempting to capture rabbits, lizards etc finding it far more entertaining than conversing with the other kids. 

Days would come by when he would be picked along with his siblings to go live with a foster family, days likes this wouldn't end well as Asashi would be caught running away or simply not agreeing with it. That was until he was 8 when his two younger siblings were picked leaving Asashi at the orphanage by himself. 

Growing up by himself he never thought about finding his lost siblings and focused more on schooling. Applying to Coraline University, he didn't having enough money so to enter wasn't going to work. However his grades were above genius meaning that the University accepted him, paying for his schooling themselves. Once joining he was given the dorm C8 where he met Takemoto and Hirashima his new roommates. Asashi avoided them and whenever was offered to a party would either make an excuse or simply ignore it. 

This was until a school shooting occurred during one of his classes, he had to make a decision which was either leave his entire class or make a run for it (he went to the bathroom when his classroom was held hostage.) Doing what he thought was right.. he ran.Running down the corridor he saw Hirashima and Takemoto running back towards his classroom, but he couldn't care so he continued to run. 

This was until he exited the building and heard gun shots go off, he stood there thinking over everything that had happened and hit himself for the stupid thing he was about to do. Running back down the corridor to his classroom he held his bag in one hand and a pencil in the other. Screams could be heard as Asashi dashed down the hall before reaching his classroom, the door was shut but the window to look inside allowed him to see the shooter, facing the direction of the class. Asashi was about to leave once more before he saw Hirashima's body laying in front of the shooter, he couldn't leave him like that so he bashed the door open. 

The shooter turned to Asashi about to attack before Asashi through his bag at him knocking the gun out of his hand and making him stumble over. This gave Asashi the chance to attack, lunging on top of him, stabbing him repeatedly in the chest with the pencil. 

The police came by later on, everyone in the classroom was safe as well as his two roommates Hirashima and Takemoto, Hirashima was only knocked unconscious but wasn't hurt and Takemoto was in the crowd of students after getting cold feet when entering the room. Asashi was taken to the police station for questioning but was let go when they realised he saved everyone. He was popular around school for being their saviour but no one wanted to "really" get to know him after finding out he killed a person.

Asashi stayed a loner for the first few months of his university life which he didn't mind, however Takemoto and Hirashima still try to befriend him from time to time.

"The meadow was enameled with sodden dew as the Gaillardias rustled gently in the breeze. A narrow pellucid brook flowed calmly adjacently to the Gaillardias while the crusty trout swam swiftly in it. Tall lilac plant swayed flexibly as I ran pass through them, the air felt exuberating as I circled the huge green meadow. This feeling was just liberating and peaceful that I hoped it would be the only thing which would stay with me forever. I was too engrossed in those beauties of the nature that I completely ignored my dad.

My dad looked peaceful sitting on the mat that he laid beneath the large oak tree, Peanut butter sandwich, cookies, cakes and orange juice scattered in front of him, it was an alluring scenario. My dad was totally engrossed in one of his books on organic chemistry that he failed to feel the soft tab on his shoulder. I was envious to the book for grabbing all the attention to itself and not leaving an ounce for me.  I quickly snatched away the book from his grip and put out my tongue and ran around the tree playfully. 

My dad gave a hearty laugh as he pretended to be tried of chasing me; those were the best days of my youth. He faked being in pain as he pretended to hold his chest and breathe deeply as he rested his head on the soft grass and closed his eyes. I was too young to notice his fake acting that at that time I really thought he was hurt. I ran fast towards him praying that nothing would happen to him, I slowly nudged his shirt but he was motionless until he surprised me by tickling my stomach. I couldn't hold the tickling as I laughed my guts out shouting for him to stop, I begged him between my laughter and admitted my lost until he stopped and held me on his lap. I was really curious to know what made the book so interesting that held his face glued to it for most of the day, he smiled and showed me a page about the reaction and it was that time I became aware of this trick,"

Sam focused on the road so to prevent any accident to happen and as of me I gazed outside wondering about all things that has been happening around lately. I knew Sam wanted to ask him everything especially about those magical things that happened and I respect his curiosity too but I couldn't bring myself to pour everything about the events to him.  I was also ignorant about the trick and I thought that dot painting was useless until those dim lights from the lamp enlightened my brain and made me realize everything. The most alluring thing about this trick was the tracing in the painting and I must say it was really opulent. After tons of thoughts and consideration on the painting, it finally led us to this museum.

The museum was indeed spacious and spectacular, everything was luxurious and majestic. And all those gossip about the grand museum was indeed true. Even though we were aware that the museum will be closed for the day and it would be illegal to trespass after working hour, still then we climbed over the high wall and entered through the back door.

Sam instructed me to go towards the right wing and like an obedient child I agreed to his command considering how capable he is judging from the knowledge of being with him for the pass 3 days. I was off to the right wing admiring everything, those painting were just amazing as it transcendently adorned the wall and brought the exhibiting vibe around this place. I scanned every painting on my way and observed them swiftly without wasting much of the time. 

I was walking right at the corner of a painting when I saw monumental object right in front of me. I was fascinated and amazed that I found myself admiring its beguiling structure and artistic form that I someone forgot to inform Sam about it. I quickly regained my mind and contacted him through the walkie talkie. The painting was massive as it hung majestically from the wall and the color in the painting perfectly complemented each other that it was a wonder how the painter was able to make it come alive.

The painting was looked pretty large and amazing, but the cream of that painting was the name "Ophelia," clearly written beneath it. This name made me flashback to that day when Mrs. Patterson sheltered me when I was badly bruised. And I could clearly remember that the painting in her house that hung right at the corner of her stair was indeed of Ophelia. Not only that my dad had this painting of Hamlet and embracing Ophelia which could mean something. At one point I thought this girl in the painting could be Ophelia but when I clearly accessed the painting the girl looked more seductive and it contradicted to the pure and calm Ophelia of Hamlet. It was suspicious and mysterious.

A quote stood right beneath the name and this added more mystery to the painting. I recited the quote for the hundred times in mind until I remembered that particular phrases I read in the book Hamlet, " A ministering angel shall my sister be," it was that exact  phrase in the play when Laertes said to himself remembering his sister Ophelia, which actually meant that he would serve and love his sister under any circumstances. 

I was considering every possible connection that the painting and its quotes could have with the kidnapping but to my disappointment nothing weave together to give me a perfect picture. I tried really hard to flashback to that time when I discovered the mysterious key, I still remember finding the portrait and the key beneath it but there was nothing much skeptical. 

I focused again and recreated my dad study room in mind and to my astonishment there was indeed some vague image projected in my mind about this quote and from what I feel, I think I saw it written in a small font and placed securely in that shelf near the portrait. It was indeed amazing how our sub conscious mind could render help when in need. But one thing really didn't patch up with any information I could think of because it felt too unnatural to find the quotes and portrait in my dad's room unless they already knew before and faked my adoption story.

Sam seemed to always remind me how his aunt loved painting and what most astonishing was that her name was Ophelia too so those information really felt like those puzzle which took time to create but once you get the hold of it, it connected automatically. So from what I concluded Ophelia was indeed my mother and after her disappearance I might have been adopted. But one thing was sure that this painting before me was indeed her work.

One might not feel the pain and hurt hidden beneath me and I won't blame anyone for not understanding me. Remembering those thunderous nights when I craved for warm embrace that would protect me from those scary sound and those times when I saw children's walking with their parents in the park, it made me miss my biological parents more. I would cry silently and pray for their return, not only that I would swear to god that if they came back to me I would learn to be a better boy. Without anyone to support you while growing, I was emotionally and physically drained until adoptive parents came for the rescue. Even though I was showered with love and care there was still some void that needed the presence of my biological mother to fill it.

I have battled myself for a long time and persuaded myself to believe that I needed no one to survive and it was until now I find information about her, she caused havoc within me. And mostly importantly my adoptive dad had more to say something on this story but to my unfortunate they were no more. The safe was small and it was finger print password protected. We thought we escaped an obstacle yet we were faced with another. It was quite worrying to be exact because we felt that we were nearing to our goal but we were once again to square one. I was not sure what happened to me but something inside urged me to place my finger on that safe and to our surprise the safe opened.

I was stupefied for a while trying to gauged everything in front me. For all my life I lived believing that they have forgotten me and will never come back for me. I have learnt to move one and forget them but it was my lack of trust and foolishness which underestimated their love for me. They still remembered me and not only that I was the key to everything they were trying to hide. My parents really loved me and I was a coward for not trusting them. Even though Sam gave me that will letter, that stated I might be the potential heir of his empire but I doubted there love for me and I was too wrong misjudge them for they loved me dearly. 

This realization hit me too hard that I found myself bathing in tears, I just couldn't stop it. I thought they hated me for leaving me there all alone in that lone orphanage and I believed their promise to come back was just a mere façade but it was not. Their love was genuine and it was warming everything inside me. They had always been looking after me and it was just me blaming them without any hesitance. I cried aloud when Sam stopped me and I knew I had someone alive and important to protect.

 I had made mistakes and this mistake has cost me all my happiness during my prime age. I knew my parents wanted best of me that they gave everything to me and I really had to do something to prove their trust. I calmed myself and took out the small diary from the safe and exited the museum with a content expression.

There was hint of admiration and love in his eyes and it really confused me. I felt that he liked me but that thought was totally absurd. His pinkish lips raised, it made my legs give away.
