The old librarian at the door of the library suddenly asked, "Kid, do you two know each other?"
"We're from the same class." Li Zheng returned to his seat with the two magazines in hand.
"She did not take her student card." The old man put on his glasses and read the card Lin Yujing left behind in detail, "Class 2-4, Lin Yujing… Is Class 2-4 still led by Chunmei?"
"Yes, Mrs. Hu Chunmei," Li Zheng said as he nodded.
"She's still taking classes?" The old man probed, "Is she done with her surgery?"
"Surgery?"

"I should not start chatting with a person like that, in case he corrupts my heart and brain."
Li Zheng did not comment and continued to read his book.
"Hey, have a chat with me. I sit here all day long, and there are not many other people." The old man picked up Li Zheng's student card and only caught a clear glimpse after squinting and holding the card further away from his face. "Li Zheng… Hm, the name fits the person…"

Hi! For my QI readers, I realised that you didn't get to read how I started writing Spirit Immortal. So below is a short description of myself!


Background about myself and inspirations for writing Spirit Immortal
Currently, I am a university undergraduate, and I have been reading fiction for years. I first got into reading fiction because of anime. Initially, I was a pure anime/manga fan. But I then found out about the existence of light novels. Light novels were far ahead from the existing anime, so I started to binge read translated volumes on Baka-Tsuki. It became somewhat of a drug to me. I kept reading and eventually, fictions had become part of my daily life. However, everything changed when the Yen Press attacked… Suddenly, many of my favourite novels disappeared, and less and less light novel translations surfaced. 

Finding myself in a severe deficit of fictions to read, I found something called Novelupdates. Every few minutes, there was a new novel chapter being released. I was overjoyed. Finally, I was able to satisfy my daily fiction needs. That was how I got into wuxia/xianxia novels. Being ethnically Chinese and fluent in both English and Chinese, there was a great allure for me in these stories. When I was younger, I would frequently watch The Legend of the Condor Heroes and many what we call "wuxia xiaoshuo." So seeing that the traditional stories blend with modern themes was somewhat shocking to me. To think that such a part of the internet existed!

So I started reading a lot of wuxia/xianxia stories. I remember the early days of Coiling Dragon and Stellar Transformations. The friendly competition between Gravitytales and Wuxiaworld. But one day, I encountered Doulou Dalu. For those who have not noticed, Spirit Immortal's cultivation system is inspired by this very novel. The reason being, it was the only cultivation system that I could actually follow. It's a very simplistic system, rank 1-100. The other Wuxia novels cultivation systems confused the heck out of me. However, worry not, Spirit Immortal is not a fanfiction of Doulou Dalu. In fact, other than the cultivation levels, they are nothing alike.

For a while, Doulou Dalu was my favourite novel. To a certain extent, it still is my favourite translated wuxia/xianxia novel. But I started feeling bored. Every single book that I read followed the same format. And after many disappointing stories, I thought to myself… Hey, I could just write something I like!

Thus, the idea of Spirit Immortal started germinating in my mind. It took me over five months to finish plotting the major arcs, characters and finally the ending before I started typing my first word. Majority of the reason why it took so long for me to start writing this story is because of my procrastination and school. Additionally, I didn't know if the story was going to be well received. But eventually, I steeled my mind and said: "Whatever, as long as I am satisfied with the story, who cares?"

So yeah, currently the number one fan of Spirit Immortal is myself, and I can't wait to put the entire story I have in my head into words for all of you to read. It will take time though, so do stick around!


Issues I have had when writing Book Two
I have realised that many of you were unsatisfied with the pace of the story, saying that it is too slow and whatnot. And guess what, I agree! I have been putting the character and world development at the forefront of my story thus slowing down the story progression, However, fret not, now that the first two books are completed, the story progression would begin to expedite as I believe that I have sufficiently developed my characters!

I'm trying to be more descriptive in my writing but that is still a work in progress. Perhaps it would be the greatest hurdle for me but rest assured, I will try my best!

Another major issue I had was time management. I started writing Spirit Immortal during my semester break where I had plenty of time. I even managed to complete Book 1 during that break itself! However, once school started, I had to figure out a way to balance work, personal life and writing Spirit Immortal. There were some days where I only had three hours to efficiently write, proofread and edit my chapter before I deemed it ready to be published. Hence, there might be times where my writing quality dropped slightly but I'm trying my best to ensure that I retain and even improve on my writing quality, so please be patient with me on that one.


Future of Spirit Immortal
Once my semester break hits once more, I will be sitting myself down in order to write as many chapters as I can. Perhaps, eventually, I will take the road of creating a ******* account to allow you guys to read advance chapters and at the same time, give myself some funding to weather through the school days. 

So yeah, I can't thank you guys enough for continuing to stick with me as I continue to write Spirit Immortal. I hope that I will be able to deliver the satisfying fiction that I have conjured up and brought you as much enjoyment as I had in writing this story!

Or, perhaps you've never written long novels, but have the natural talent to write as easily as you drink water. In that case, there's no need for you to read this beginner level article anymore.

In fact, there's even plenty of newcomer authors that feel like it's incredibly difficult for them to write a short, several hundred word long essay, or to write an end-of-year reflection. But, when such newcomer authors try writing webnovels for the first time, they find their minds clearing up, with the ability to write like they are possessed, with storyline flowing out from under their proverbial pens just like a stream of water. Newcomers like these naturally don't need to read a beginner level guide like this one, either.

Those who truly need to read this article are those who put their hands at writing webnovels, but find that their minds are empty or filled with mud the moment they open up their computer documents. Perhaps you're a newcomer author who tried thinking for an entire day but only managed to write a few hundred words that even you think is garbage.

In such a case, for newcomers like you, how should you improve your writing, and write your first thousand, ten thousand, or hundred thousand words? How do you take the first step in becoming a god of writing?

I personally believe that you can try the several following tips.

1: Adjust your mentality and create a precise writing goal for yourself.

Unlike most other jobs, success as a webnovel author doesn't always come step by step. Some sufficiently talented newcomer authors are completely capable of earning hundreds of thousands, or even millions, on their very first novel. A single novel can make an author into a master, or even a grandmaster. There are also veteran authors who have been stuck at a certain level for a long time who might one day have an epiphany and find a new writing style more suitable for him or herself, turning them into a master overnight.

However, the cruel reality is, no matter if it's a newcomer becoming a master overnight, or a veteran suddenly improving, there's one condition that's an absolutely necessary prerequisite—

The author needs to already have strong writing skills. This means that such a wonderful thing is unlikely to have anything to do with you who's reading this article, as you're not even at the beginner level.

For authors who aren't even at the starter level, there's only one goal that you should be setting for yourselves. That goal is to be able to naturally write a long novel. To be more specific, there's two major goals within this goal.

The first goal is to be able to imagine and finish a story that's approximately 500,000 words. Simply speaking, you have to be able to write long novels.

This is because the natural way how webnovels work makes it so that only a longer novel can bring greater benefits for the author. The novel's ranking, influence, and author's fame are all affected by the novel's length. To achieve a respectable degree in these areas, the novel will typically need to be at least 1.5 million words or longer.

Of course, from a professional standpoint, a story written for the sake of practice doesn't really need to have that many words in it. That's because in theory, an author who's capable of finishing a 500,000-word long novel has already learned the foundational writing skills necessary. As long as such an author has a complete outline for their story, writing two or three million words will no longer be so difficult.

The second goal is to be able to write approximately five thousand words every day. Simply speaking, you must be able to write quickly.

This is because there's a huge number of webnovels out there, giving you immense competition. Based on webnovel readers' typical reading habits, only stories that have consistent updates will be able to obtain and maintain popularity. For a super consistent release, the lowest requirement is to update at least two chapters per day.

One chapter might have an average of around 2500 words. At the very minimum, they should at least be longer than 1500 words. This is why, for a webnovel author to become successful, their writing speed must be at minimum three to five thousand words per day. When calculating this by months, this means that you need to write at least 45,000 to 75,000 words per month. This is the most basic requirement.

Those are all the prerequisite conditions for newcomer authors to develop into starter level webnovel authors. At this level, the quality of your writing isn't that important. Nor is the popularity of your novel important, either. Being able to write a long novel and write quickly are the two main goals that you as a newcomer author should strive for.

Something that should be noted is that at this level, you should pay more attention to improving your own ability, rather than worrying about your story. There are no tests for you, nor are there any grades. By the time you're in the middle of the story, if you notice that you're having an easy time writing and can easily write five thousand words per day, in addition to having a clear outline for your entire novel, then congratulations. This means that you're now a starter level webnovel author.

2: Choose an appropriate genre and topic.

With the development of webnovels, there's so many genres out there already – eastern fantasy, high fantasy, martial arts, xianxia, modern, mystical, historical, military, gaming, competitions, science fiction, fan fiction…

All these genres have their own specialties, and have different popularity factors and important things to keep in mind when writing. Also, they all have different degrees of difficulty when writing them. Still, what needs to be noted is that these different genres will have varying degrees of difficulty for different authors.

Perhaps one author will find it incredibly painful to write historical fiction, while writing a mystical story is fun and relaxing for him. Meanwhile, another author might find it incredibly easy to write historical fiction, while writing a modern day novel feels all sorts of awkward for her.

Obviously, for authors that are total beginners, you should choose the easiest type of story to write for you. But, what if you don't even know what genre you should be starting out in?

Allow me to recommend a few easy genres for newcomer authors.

1: Fan fiction

Fan fiction refers to using an already existing story's characters and setting as the basis to create new stories. This is a type of story modification.

For example, you could write a story and call it "Harry Potter and His Adventures". This story could be about how Harry Potter ended up with Hermione, or how he has multiple girlfriends. This is an example of a fan fiction about Harry Potter.

What needs to be noted is that in the large majority of situations, fan fiction authors don't actually have the copyright to their own stories. Even if you wrote every single word of your fan fiction novel by yourself, you still have zero right to use your novel for any commercial purposes.

But, even so, fan fiction is still one of the best choices for total beginner authors. The reason is that they are quite simple to write.

When writing fan fiction, you don't need to think about a complicated world background or any detailed settings. Nor do you need to create a large amount of characters. Even the fan fiction's story can be inspired from the original novel. All these things, especially creating the setting and characters, are what newcomers typically have the most trouble with.

Basically, writing fan fiction will greatly simplify the writing process, directly avoiding the most difficult part of all. Without a doubt, this is the easiest way for newcomer authors to get started.

As for what story to base your fan fiction on, it first needs to be a story that you as an author have already read and are familiar with. Also, it's best if it's a story you truly love, perhaps even reading it several times over. This is the basic requirement for writing fan fiction.

On top of all that, I would recommend choosing to write fan fiction about a story whose copyright has already expired, such as "Romeo and Juliet" or "Don Quixote" and so on. Or, it would be best if you could somehow obtain permission directly from the author of the work that you intend to write fan fiction about.

Of course, even if you have no way to contact the author or obtain their permission, it's still fine to write fan fiction. This just means that you can only write for free, without earning any profits, and also respect the original author of the work. After all, for newcomer level authors like you, learning and improving your writing is the most important part. Since your novels are unlikely to be commercially viable at this stage, it's not all that important even if you write a fan fiction novel that you're not allowed to profit from.

2. Modern novels

This genre refers to novels that take place in a modern day urban setting. The city background is typically where the author has lived and is familiar with.

Compared with fan fiction, modern novels have the added difficulty of having to create your own characters. Still, it does decrease the amount of trouble you have to go to in creating a setting. Not only that, when writing character introductions, you can save a lot of effort in having to explain a lot of common knowledge, such as what a character's job entails, or their social status. Saving all this effort is quite precious for newcomers.

And compared to fan fiction, modern novels have their own advantages as well. That is to say, the author can more easily write themselves into the main character, making the storyline easier to think about. Normally speaking, all you need to do is to give the main character a special cheat, or a unique advantage, and the rest will flow as naturally as water.

For example, there's a very popular modern novel with a reincarnated main character. The protagonist has only a very simple cheat—being reincarnated to several years in the past. This is quite an easy scenario for newcomer authors to insert themselves into. Just think about it, if you can reincarnate back to the past with all your memories intact, what will you do?

Most authors can probably imagine it. If you return to several years in the past with knowledge of the future, there's just far too many ways of earning money. Even if you have zero business skills, can't remember a single stock market pick, and don't remember who won the World Cup of Soccer, at the very absolute minimum, shouldn't you know something like what company you should invest in?

Apart from earning money, don't you, the author, have any other regrets as well? For example, do you regret not treating your parents better while they were still alive? Do you regret choosing the wrong major in college? Are you embarrassed at your awkward attempts to get a boyfriend/girlfriend?

And so on, and so forth. Why are you afraid of not being able to think of plots for your storyline and making it longer?

As for the specific details, those are quite easy as well. For example, if you intended to sell off everything you owned back in the day and take out a huge loan to invest in one specific company, what would your parents say, and how would they react? How would all your other friends and relatives react as well? Who would you try to borrow money from, and how would they respond? What's the specific process of investing in a company, and what procedures are necessary? What if the company you invest in temporarily loses value after you invest in it? Would your parents complain at you and tell you to retract your investment? And how will people react after the company you invested in suddenly does super well and you make a huge profit? And, what will you do with the money…

Just this one storyline arc about investing in a company has plenty of content to write about even simply by following the natural process of how people would act. And if you use that as the foundation and intentionally write some conflicts, such as how the protagonist discovered that his friend who he wanted to borrow money from is actually investing in a different company, how he pretended to have a casual attitude when opening up an investment account made the investment company female employee misunderstand him to be someone really rich, or how people scoffed at him after investing in a company and he made a bet…

Wouldn't you agree that all these related events can add plenty of content to your story? Not only that, it shouldn't be all that difficult even for a newcomer author to write such a story arc.

Even if you're one of the few who feel like you lack imaginative prowess, and you don't have the confidence to create interesting scenarios and conflicts, well, there's still one more advantage of writing a modern story—you can borrow ideas from plenty of sources.

The most direct sources of all would be television dramas, especially those set in the current day. This should be easy to understand.

Apart from television shows and movies, there's also hot topics in society, the news, or local gossip and family conflicts… These are sources that are easy to overlook or maybe often considered boring. But actually, it's quite common to make some modifications and write them into your own novel and borrow from such sources.

This is why, from a certain standpoint, modern novels are the easiest novels for newcomers to begin with and to write a long story about.

3. Imitations

Imitation type novels aren't a particular genre, but they can belong to any genre. While this may seem rather contradictory, it actually means that a newcomer author could try selecting one of his or her own favorite and most familiar novels and imitate it. This isn't limited by genre.

Imitation could be shallow, or it could be a close imitation as well.

To give a theoretical example, perhaps the original story has a main character named Zhang San, who's the son of the sect leader of Green Castle. Your imitation novel could try having a main character named Li Si, who's the son of the sect leader of the Wudang Sect. The original story had Zhang San falling off a cliff and miraculously surviving while also obtaining a book containing a miraculous cultivation technique. After he successfully powered up, Zhang San was sent by his father to go undercover in the Demon Sect, where he fell in love with the Demon Sect leader's daughter. Your story could try having Li Si being ambushed while cultivating and becoming seriously injured, but miraculously having a great breakthrough in cultivation due to overlapping coincidences. Afterwards, Li Si went undercover in the Demon Sect in an effort to investigate who ambushed him, and fell in love with the Demon Sect leader's granddaughter…

This type of imitation requires even less creative effort from the author compared to fan fiction. From a certain standpoint, this is really cutting it close to becoming plagiarism. Yet, it's still undeniable that this is a usable method for newcomer authors to improve their own skills.

But, please note that this type of writing style is only suitable for practicing your writing. If your story is too much of an imitation, it'll be impossible to even make it public. That's because unlike fan fiction, even if you don't use it for commercial purposes, you've still plagiarized and violated the original author's copyright. It might even spoil certain plots from the original story and affect its sales and popularity.

That's why this type of learning via imitation, in principle, isn't really one of the better ways to learn. More accurately speaking, this is the final way to learn available to total beginner authors that have failed at attempting all other self-training methods.

In normal circumstances, after half a month to a month of imitation practice, the author should have some more insight into writing. The author can learn how to design storylines and write descriptions. At such a time, the author can stop trying to imitate and begin developing a completely original novel on their own.

Max went to see the library with Arman. The library is almost as big as the cafeteria. The bookshelves here are very tall and there are different types of books. There's a section for each genre. There's also the English translation of many Thai novels as well. There's also a huge section of textbooks. Max was happy to see that this library was not empty. People are here and they are actually reading. 

Back in his old University, the library was always empty. Folks there didn't like to read much. But here, they are reading fiction and non-fiction as well. Max went straight to the "romance" section while Arman was in the non-fiction. Max isn't into non-fiction. He never was. But Arman who has not watched movies in a long time looks definitely a non-fiction type. 

The library is now Max's favorite place at this University. Max's jaw almost dropped open when he saw there was Boys' Love fiction as well. These books are actually the English translation of the Thai novels he read online. 

The feeling of reading a physical copy is far more beautiful than reading a PDF version of it. Max has read only four to five novels. 

But here, he wishes to read all of them. But not today. He looks around to look for more interesting books. He opens his keep notes app on his phone and writes down the names of the books he wants to read. 

He sees that Arman has already found himself a seat and is deep inside some non-fiction. The cover of it is very lifeless. Max knows he shouldn't judge a book by its cover but if the cover ain't beautiful, he ain't reading it. Sometimes he's more into the cover than he is on the book. 

"What are you reading?" He asks Arman.

"A non-fiction about what a person should and shouldn't do" 

"Non-fictions are boring! Read something exciting, like, thriller or horror" he suggests. It's more like he's forcing him to read stuff he likes. 

Arman closes the book and gives Max a look. A look that says do I look like someone who reads fiction? 

They spent about an hour in the library. Arman noticed some guys from the science department. He has to know about the class schedule and also if he needs to buy new books or not. Arman told Max that he would be late so Max came back to his dorm. Roaming around the campus all alone is very boring. Max doesn't like being bored. 

He has nothing to do now. The orientation class for the newbies is tomorrow. He's not a new student here. The classes here have started six months ago when Max was preparing for the Scholarship program. 

He video calls his parents and tells them about this place and also tells them about the big library. His parents are happy to see him happy. After talking to them he felt good but he's still bored.

"Hey! I thought you'd never call! Found someone new, didn't you?" Nadia says from other side of the screen. The background of her looks familiar. She's at Rohan's house.

"How could I not call? Wait. Are you at Rohan's?" 

Nadia leans forward to the screen and narrows her eyes to look more clearly. Max doesn't know what she's doing so he does the same. Both can't see anything besides each other's nose right now. 

Max hears Arman putting books on his table and leans backward from the screen and Nadia suddenly screams,

"Is that him? You made a boyfriend already!?"

Max's cheeks flushed red as he hears Nadia's words. Nadia was so loud that it's no surprise that Arman heard her. 
Max becomes nervous. He knows that Arman was cool about it so far but everyone has their tolerating limits. 

Max was even more embarrassed when Nadia opened her mouth again

"He's hot"

Rohan comes from behind and sees Arman and Max together. He knows who Nadia called hot.

"Nadia, you can't just call his roommate hot right in front of your boyfriend," Rohan says making a sulking face. 

"Why are you here? Go get ready" Nadia says making Rohan stand up from the sofa. "We're gonna be late"

"I know I'm hot," Arman says arrogantly "but I'm not his boyfriend. He's not my type" he winks at Nadia. Rohan is frowning. He wants to fry this guy.

"Ooooooh! The burn!" Nadia gives Arman a virtual high five. 

"Nadia! You're my best friend, not his!" Max says. Without saying anything else Max disconnects the call. 

On the other side, Rohan wishes to kill Arman. Rohan always thought he is exactly Nadia's type but today he doesn't feel like it anymore.

"Why would you call him hot? Am I not hot?" Rohan says to Nadia with an expression mixed with anger and jealousy

Nadia narrows her left eye as she gets the point that her boyfriend is jealous. Nadia has never seen Rohan get jealous because she doesn't give her time to anyone else but him. This is the first time. She has to take advantage of this moment.

"Why won't I? He is hot" she looks away and tries to hide her evil laugh. It's so hard to do it with Rohan's confused face lurking around. He looks adorable. 

Rohan sits beside her and holds her hand. His eyebrows are raised and he's biting his lips. He so trying hard to look seductive. Nadia almost breaks but she has to continue this scene.

"Why are you making that face? You look stupid" She says. But inside she's going crazy over how beautiful Rohan is looking right now. Men are not supposed to look beautiful but handsome. Rohan is both. When Nadia called him stupid Rohan tried to make his face look normal which looks even funnier. Nadia can't hold her laughter anymore. She breaks out laughing like crazy and almost falls to the ground. Rohan realizes this was a prank. He sits still and frowns his eyebrows. 

"Don't call anyone hot besides me" he says coldly.

Max is angry at Nadia. She made him look like a fool and she also ganged up with Arman. He can't stand Arman's presence anymore.

"Why are you here?" He says to him "weren't you supposed to return late?" 

"Those guys are really friendly. They gave me the stuff I needed so it didn't take long" 

Max smirks at him and Arman grins.

Austin returns to his condo and crashes on the bed. His cat also sits beside him looking sleepy that she is. Austin tries to pat her and she hisses. Austin laughs at this.

 He has to go shoot that ad film for AWAN tomorrow. He doesn't want to. 

If He could return the money to them and not do the Ad film but Josh is also involved in this. He knows what they can do.

 He can not put Win at risk. 

Tomorrow is not going to be a good day for him.

Max is an addict. Not a drug addict though but an addict of Boys' Love fiction. And the only person he really likes is none but Austin Grant. The actor who portrayed the character "Patrick" from "Our Love The Series". He plans to go to Thailand and meet him in person. But will he ever get a chance to see him? or he'll find someone new to love?

Many authors wrote stories of disaffection, loss of purpose, and the coping with defeat. Haruo Umezaki's short story Sakurajima shows a disillusioned and skeptical Navy officer stationed in a base located on the Sakurajima volcanic island, close to Kagoshima, on the southern tip of the Kyushu island. Osamu Dazai's novel The Setting Suntells of a soldier returning from Manchukuo. Shōhei Ōoka won the Yomiuri Prize for his novel Fires on the Plain about a Japanese deserter going mad in the Philippine jungle. Yukio Mishima, well known for both his nihilistic writing and his controversial suicide by seppuku, began writing in the post-war period. Nobuo Kojima's short story "The American School" portrays a group of Japanese teachers of English who, in the immediate aftermath of the war, deal with the American occupation in varying ways.

Prominent writers of the 1970s and 1980s were identified with intellectual and moral issues in their attempts to raise social and political consciousness. One of them, Kenzaburō Ōe published his best-known work, A Personal Matterin 1964 and became Japan's second winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature.

Mitsuharu Inoue (ja) had long been concerned with the atomic bomb and continued in the 1980s to write on problems of the nuclear age, while Shusaku Endo depicted the religious dilemma of the Kakure Kirishitan, Roman Catholics in feudal Japan, as a springboard to address spiritual problems. Yasushi Inoue also turned to the past in masterful historical novels of Inner Asia and ancient Japan, in order to portray present human fate.

Avant-garde writers, such as Kōbō Abe, who wrote fantastic novels such as The Woman in the Dunes (1960), wanted to express the Japanese experience in modern terms without using either international styles or traditional conventions, developed new inner visions. Yoshikichi Furui tellingly related the lives of alienated urban dwellers coping with the minutiae of daily life, while the psychodramas within such daily life crises have been explored by a rising number of important women novelists. The 1988 Naoki Prize went to Shizuko Todo (ja) for Ripening Summer, a story capturing the complex psychology of modern women. Other award-winning stories at the end of the decade dealt with current issues of the elderly in hospitals, the recent past (Pure- Hearted Shopping District in Kōenji, Tokyo), and the life of a Meiji period ukiyo-e artist.

Haruki Murakami is one of the most popular and controversial of today's Japanese authors. His genre-defying, humorous and surreal works have sparked fierce debates in Japan over whether they are true "literature" or simple pop-fiction: Kenzaburō Ōe has been one of his harshest critics. Some of Murakami's best-known works include Norwegian Wood (1987) and The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle (1994–1995).

Banana Yoshimoto, a best-selling contemporary author whose "manga-esque" style of writing sparked much controversy when she debuted in the late 1980s, has come to be recognized as a unique and talented author over the intervening years. Her writing style stresses dialogue over description, resembling the script of a manga, and her works focus on love, friendship and loss. Her breakout work was 1988's Kitchen.

Although modern Japanese writers covered a wide variety of subjects, one particularly Japanese approach stressed their subjects' inner lives, widening the earlier novel's preoccupation with the narrator's consciousness. In Japanese fiction, plot development and action have often been of secondary interest to emotional issues. In keeping with the general trend toward reaffirming national characteristics, many old themes re-emerged, and some authors turned consciously to the past. Strikingly, Buddhist attitudes about the importance of knowing oneself and the poignant impermanence of things formed an undercurrent to sharp social criticism of this material age. There was a growing emphasis on women's roles, the Japanese persona in the modern world, and the malaise of common people lost in the complexities of urban culture.

Popular fiction, non-fiction, and children's literature all flourished in urban Japan in the 1980s. Many popular works fell between "pure literature" and pulp novels, including all sorts of historical serials, information-packed docudramas, science fiction, mysteries, detective fiction, business stories, war journals, and animal stories. Non-fiction covered everything from crime to politics. Although factual journalism predominated, many of these works were interpretive, reflecting a high degree of individualism. Manga (comics) has penetrated almost every sector of the popular market. Some argue that various works by authors that do not meet the requirement of fine grammar and spelling are rubbish. Here, each person has his own opinion, and let him stick to it and impose his opinion on others as the ultimate truth, it speaks only of ignorance of life. It is diverse.

Is the work of authors with poor grammar garbage? In my opinion, no. Each author tells his story, passed through his worldview, attitude, understanding of life, his experience and thoughts about the world. It's always interesting for me to read this personally.

I'm a bibliophile, I read a lot of classic works of art, Tomass and Gernih Mana, Feuchtwanger, Mark Twain, Stvenson, Romain Roland, Galsworthy, Tolstoy and all his volumes and there are about 19 of them! I didn't read Dostoevsky, I didn't like him. But Azek Azimov, Ursuda Le Guin, Tolkien, Kipling, Conandoyle, Louis Besenar and others I read with pleasure. Li Bo, the poetry is gorgeous. Novels of feudal and late feudal China, Japan, Korea. Novels and novels by Chinese prose writers of the early 20s and 80-90s of the 20th century.

In general, I read about 10,000 books. Fiction, fantasy, poetry, historical novels, ballads, myths and legends.

After that I became interested in reading historical documentaries - about the history of the Silk Road, Archeology, History, Ethnography, Etymology, the Big Game, the story of the confrontation of imperial intelligence in the vast regions of the Silk Road.

I have some kind of base for evaluating short stories and novels.

Sometimes works written flawlessly in terms of grammar, alas ... they are completely devoid of meaning, they are not interesting, they do not have fascinating stories, conclusions, experience, thoughts. But work with poor grammar, on the contrary, have unique information. Of course, not all works, but there are some.

Therefore, when assessing the creativity of another person, the author, being so categorical in evaluations, says only that you have a maximalist who still knows life poorly. This is the right of choice, each person, and to impose a choice on another according to my preferences, I consider this not comme il faut. Well, here everyone has a point of view.

In fact, this is an eternal question - what is more important? Beautiful text form or good content? Bestsellers are those works that combine good text and good content.

I am the author myself. But not a professional writer, but a techie. I don't know much about composition, about the intricacies of writing good text. But I have a very interesting content. Is my story garbage? I do not think so? Do I respect the reader? Sure. But writing is better so far I can't. Nevertheless, I have my own circle - readers who are interested in my work. There are not hundreds or thousands of people, but a couple of dozen will be typed.

I write in the genre - a documentary historical fiction, there are many interesting facts about the Silk Road with which I wanted to share. If I were waiting for the moment when I could write well in terms of English grammar ... I would not be able to share it now ... maybe in a couple of years ... and still I would not be able to write like this they write - people from English-speaking countries. This is a favorite topic of native speakers to reproach those who learn this language in their ignorance of the intricacies of the language they learn, grammar and spelling errors ... As we say, the dog barks, the caravan goes on. That happens.

English is the world language of communication. Moreover, for me it is the third language. I speak English well, but my grammar is lame. I admit it. Yes, I need to teach her, but I don't think I can write in perfect English.

The overall result - write as you can, share your thoughts, in the era of information, the content itself is important and not its form. One way or another, it can help others, they can come to a new thought and write a story about your topic that you would like to read yourself!
