Elaina was thoughtful for a moment when she was inside her apartment, and sitting by her desk and ready to rewrite her story into the new book she bought with her new fantasy-like pen.

She looked around at the various papers with drawings, pictures, and story notes about her story that is placed beside and around her on the desk, with a distant gaze on her face, and her mind is full of thoughts and ideas running inside her head before she started to write.

She made sure that everything subjective from her previous written story is the same in the new rewritten one.

Everything starts with a unique yet mysterious beginning.

And this is one world that came to be.

The world of Eden.

And therein that world lies one single massive and large continent, surrounded by a vast ocean known as Seanoace.

In this continent, it is divided into five nations, one in the center and the middle of it is the main capital called the Alanova Capital. It is the nation where only the cities and towns of the world population's civilization are.

Also surrounding the capital is a very dark thick forest known as Nekrad Secdur. It's also called as the 'Cursed Dark Forest'.

On the north is known as Baseat, where it is a region and land of rocky mountains.

On the south is Evelan, a grand land of thick greenery and forests.

On the west are Evitan, a hot region of sands and blazing deserts.

And finally on the last nation at the east, is Erivam. A foggy covered land filled with shrouded mists and darkness.

This Eden world is unlike any other world you would ever encounter.

At least not in reality.

For this world is another world full of fantasy and magic.

For this world, there is only not just humans populating it.

There are also elves, dwarves, beast-people, shapeshifters, dhampirs, vampires, merpeople, and lots more of these magical beings and mythical creatures.

All light and dark types, the magic users and non-magic users, and the sentient and non-sentient beings.

Although these many races live or travel in different places among the five nations of the continent of Eden.

Each of the nations had the various residents that live permanently in them.

For the human race, they live in Alanova Capital.

In Baseat in the north region, there lived the beast-people and the dwarves.

In Evelan at the south, there lived the elves, dryads, and nymphs.

In Erivam at the east, there lived the dhampirs, vampires, and dark creatures.

In Evitan at the west, there lived the wild and native-like humans, and shape-shifters.

In the oceans surrounding the continent, there lived the water beings like merpeople and such creatures like that.

Finally, on the forest known as Nekrad Secdur that surrounds Alanova Capital, there lived the darkest type of creatures, like shadow monsters or demon-like terrifying beings that lurk and hide in the cursed dark forest.

This is the world--the world of Eden.

A fantastical magical and also mysterious and mythical world, unlike any other worlds you might know or encounter.

A world where your heart's desires and dreams come true.

And also a world where your worst nightmares and darkest fears come to life.

But in this grand world, this is the place that you surely want to see.

And this is how it all started.

With the origins and births of the fantastical races, its energy of magic, and the most astounding object and heart of it all that had borne the continent of Eden.

This object is known to be called…the Fiery Blade.

And here is how it all begins.

Enter into the world of Eden--if you wish or dare to.

Between writing and giving herself a break, Elaina edited and rewrites everything and making sure that she didn't miss out on any blank pages to write down notes while writing out all contents in her story.

Just as Elaina stretched her arms up and do some home aerobic exercises for a few minutes of her break, she didn't notice that all of her notes and writings into the new book started glowing like a magic as if to etch permanently into the pages.

By the time she had finished doing whatever relaxing exercises she needed to relieve her fatigue, the glowing instantly stopped and the book seemed to look normal again.

Then Elaina sat down again and continued on writing, oblivious and unknowing over the sudden strange happenings that are occurring near her.

After the time had gone by so fast in a passing blur, including the break time to eat meals or relax her mind shortly and then continue writing, it was already late at night and Elaina was so surprised on seeing the time as she turned to look at it.

She instantly stopped writing, as she decides to be done for the day and then continues on the next one tomorrow to the book of her new story.

She closed the book with the pen inside as a bookmark and then she sighed as if instantly exhausted from what she's doing as she went off to change her clothes into sleeping ones and go to sleep.

As she goes into her bed and snuggles under her comfy blankets, Elaina didn't know that her fantasy imaginative story will become changed in a way that she will not expect.

And she wouldn't know it until it came straight at her like a speeding truck out of nowhere upon trying to cross a street.

Just as Elaina drifted off into a peaceful and heavy-dreamless slumber, the book glowed again, brighter than before and the new pen she used also glowed as well inside it as if the two items' magic are responding to their writer's heart's desires and wishes when she wrote about the story of the world of Eden.

As a child living the life of a street punk, Chen Mu suffered malnutrition for a little while. Later, after his life took a turn for the better, his health started to become stronger; although judging from his appearance, you wouldn't say he was well-built. But his health was essentially excellent, and he seldom got sick.
However, when Chen Mu attempted one of the exercises, he found it to be quite strenuous. It made high demands on his lower body strength, which wasn't his strong suit. Both of Chen Mu's legs were aching and as weak as mud after going through it a few times. While he didn't know if he was really doing the exercises, the soreness that developed in his legs was perfectly real.
Chen Mu was able to try each of the eighteen actions once, but there were just three that he could do. Each time he did one of the activities according to the standard, that figure would immediately dim. There wouldn't be any change in the figure if the activity he did wasn't exactly the same as the figure demonstrated. 
Apart from those changes, no matter how many times Chen Mu suffered through the exercises, there would be no change in the surroundings. 
Suffering the unbearable repetitions had almost completely wiped out Chen Mu's energy. His biggest problem now was not how to complete the eighteen activities, but how to get out from that fantasy realm!
He was surrounded by a void, empty of a single thing. There weren't any other indicators apart from the eighteen figures. Could they be the indicators?
Chen Mu quickly vetoed the notion, since the eighteen figures were complete illusions. Or was it that he had to finish the eighteen actions? Chen Mu was smiling bitterly, since if that was how it was, he would certainly be miserable. He would have to go through quite a few trials before he could possibly complete them successfully, and it wouldn't be right away. Break out of the fantasy realm? That wasn't worth thinking about in such a brilliant fantasy realm. He certainly couldn't break out by relying on his own power.
And so where could the key to exit the fantasy realm be? Chen Mu's forehead was beading up in cold sweat trying to remember all the various legends about high-grade fantasy cards. If there were no way to find the critical key, then his future had only two possibilities. One was that the power-card which supplied the power for that fantasy card would get used up, causing the fantasy realm automatically to terminate. The other was that he could die of thirst or hunger before the power got used up.
A bead of sweat slid down along the bridge of his nose and finally dripped off into the endless dark void below. But even never having experienced that sort of danger, Chen Mu wasn't flustered, since it certainly wasn't the first time in his life that he'd encountered danger. Besides starvation and cold, there were many dangers which went along with being a young street punk. Vicious wandering dogs could be just as fatal to wandering children. Then there were those thoroughly awful and extremely vicious traffickers in people. In their eyes, street kids were like a piece of juicy meat.
But Chen Mu had never once encountered any danger which made him feel so utterly helpless. In his eyes, that fantasy card represented the highest art of fantasy cards; too high to touch. For a dabbler in card-mastery who had only just mastered the one-star fantasy card, he expected simply to be gazing upward, never being able to go beyond that for his whole life. 
The feeling of danger wasn't just coming from something outside of him but had also emerged from the deepest reaches of his heart. 
Chen Mu forced himself to calm down. He knew that the goal of the card maker wasn't likely to be to make the user die while trapped in the fantasy realm. If that were the case, the place ought to have been full of mortal attacks, and not so peaceful as it was. The only possibility was that he had not yet found the key for exiting the fantasy realm.
Since he hadn't gone through any sort of orthodox card master training, it obviously didn't seem practical to consider using his own knowledge to resolve the problem. After pondering a while, Chen Mu decided to use the crude method of the process of elimination. There weren't many objects in the fantasy realm in any case.
However . . . just then, almost all the things in the fantasy realm came together by themselves and touched! It was quite clear that it wasn't in response to anything. What could possibly be going on?
The figures in the void themselves!
Chen Mu had a flash of divine insight. Right! I ignored one possibility. Myself! Besides the eighteen figures in the whole fantasy realm, there is myself!
Chen Mu's panicked glance fell onto his own wrist. Astonishingly, he could see the apparatus there. Chen Mu almost unconsciously pressed the activation button.
Phew! The scenery in front of his eyes changed and Chen Mu was back in his familiar room again. 
His legs had gone soft. Heaving a huge sigh of relief, Chen Mu plopped on his butt onto the floor. He was so exhausted he didn't even feel like shifting his finger.
He had almost entirely used up his energy attempting those actions. After both his mind and his body had gone through such a rigorous ordeal, his spirits had also become highly enervated.
Worn out, Chen Mu lay down on the floor and fell asleep.
Once again, Chen Mu was awakened by hunger! The feeling of waking up hungry was really awful. Chen Mu really loathed feeling starved, which was probably the left-over influence of growing up as a street punk.
He wasn't picky about what he ate – he just wanted to fill his belly. He opened the fresh food cupboard, and a blast of cold air hit him in the face. The core of the fresh food cupboard was a cold-air card – capable of refrigeration – to keep the freshness of food items. Its price was low, but the power it consumed each month was not a small amount.
The fresh food cupboard's cold-air card, or the hot pot's heating card, and so forth, were not at all high-grade – not more than one or two stars. But they had become things which people couldn't do without in their everyday lives. They had all gone into large-scale industrial production, which made their production costs even lower. 
Low-grade card usage had radiated to all aspects of ordinary people's lives. In the world of cards, there was no disputing who the great masters were; Rosenberg and Heiner Van Sant. As part of the first theory of cards that he proposed, the grand master Rosenberg made the first power-cards and fantasy cards in human history. Heiner Van Sant not only took Rosenberg's fantasy cards to a level never achieved, he also made other cards which were entirely different from the Rosenberg style. 
These two great masters both climbed to the very peak of the card world.
However, there was still one who was equally outstanding in that world, who used a different style. He shone forth with incomparably dazzling radiance and was called the 'grand master most approaching the two sages.' 
That was none other than Luo Qi. Luo Qi's status as a high-grade card master is very dark among the outstanding card masters throughout history. But it was just that kind of card-master who stirred up an unprecedented revolution in the world of cards. He spent his entire lifetime's energy devoted to integrating cards with the lives of ordinary people. Many cards which bad been too high to reach came into ordinary peoples' lives because of him.
Fresh food cupboards, hot pots, shuttle cars . . .
He was always brimming with matchless wisdom and creativity. He brought about great value from unremarkable one-star and two-star cards. As a result, peoples' lives underwent earth-shattering changes. That also greatly improved the lives of many low-level card-masters, whose livelihoods had been challenging. It also gave him enormous riches, since he was also wise in the ways of business. His wealth grew like a rolling snowball, and after a few short decades he had become the wealthiest person in the entire Heavenly Federation at that time. Right up until the contemporary period, Luo Qi's descendants were still among the rich and powerful of the Heavenly Federation. There were so few that they could be counted on one's fingers.
Luo Qi was a person brimming with controversy. In the eyes of traditional card-masters, he was the archetype of someone who didn't attend to his proper duties. His contemporary, Heiner Van Sant, mockingly called him "a jerk who stinks of money from head to toe." While to very many people, he was an out-and-out genius, though an unconventional one. That was also the way Chen Mu's saw it.
Breaking through convention is not something everyone can do. 
Chewing on a hard piece of bread, Chen Mu sat at the table and let his gaze fall again on that mysterious card. As of then, that enigmatic card was still an enigma. He still hadn't found one of the answers he wanted to find. He had originally thought that once he had a three-star power-card, 'the rocks would show as the water receded,' and he would know after all what sort of card the mysterious card really was. He hadn't expected that in the end he still wouldn't know why it was as it was. 
The life-like fantasy realm in the card seemed like a different world, cut off entirely from his surrounding environment. It had really shocked him when he couldn't find a way out because of that.
Illusion had actually progressed to that stage!
Chen Mu felt a little defeated when he thought again about the fantasy card he had made on his own. But his feeling of defeat only lasted a few seconds. Chen Mu believed those who could make any kind of fantasy card were few enough. He felt an immediate boost in his morale. Fantasy cards, the most traditional cards in the Heavenly Federation, were awesome after all!
As he was chewing on the hard bread, Chen Mu's mind was full of the eighteen actions, each one unique. They were certainly not methods for attack. Chen Mu was not a card artisan, but street brawls were his daily fare when he was a street punk. He was an old hand with them, so he could tell at a glance that these eighteen moves had no attack nature about them.
Somehow, the moves looked a little bit like tricks from gymnastics exercises.


This is both a work of science fiction and an exploration of the meaning of life, love, literature and art. Brainpower is no longer the main ingredient for being human in this far distant future world. First of all, I would like to thank you. Thanks to the readers, who read my lack of writing; I have finished my fourth book! I'll always remember that.

As I said earlier, this is my fourth book, and I still don't think writing a novel is easy. I always feel this. Personally, I started to feel weak around the 150th chapter. It has not been easy to write since then. I thought it would be better to take six books from the beginning or divide them into two parts and take a break. 

This time, I wrote a series, but I couldn't handle it in the second half. I'm sorry about that. I used to post it on the day I finished my epilogue, but this work has been so hard that I had to take a day off.

It has been the most popular piece of my writing, and at the same time, it was the most regretful piece of work. After writing and posting, I always thought 'I should write something like this,' or 'I should try to develop something like this,' or 'I could write something more specifically here,' or 'I'd like to reduce that a little bit.' 

I work for a company, but I've tried to write, edit, and post it on the Munpia. It has not been easy. When I was writing my previous Master Hunter K, it was really easy to write because I had no job then. I think it was difficult this time because I was always running out of time.

The future news of this article I originally thought of about a year ago. When I wrote my previous novels, I used a theme of going back to the past, a time shift, but I've never written about a future foreseeing, so I made a decision to write this genre if I could. We had a contest in April in Munpia, so I participated in it with this novel.

The motive was a horror cartoon based on future news, which I saw when I was in elementary school. My memory was dim, but in the animation, the main character had a paper newspaper every day, and it had the future news. I decided to convert it into something that would be in line with the Internet news standard.

As you can see, I took the League of Legends rating except for the last two, and Editor and Publisher. I thought they were the sources that I'd take to the end. As the abilities grew, I conceived the idea of the character's power and assets growing together, and I wrote it on the basis of that, before the last two grades.

The last two rating scenarios, the U.S.-China nuclear war, and the rare cancer of his son, were actually must-not subjects in web fiction writing, but I chose them as subjects to showcase the power of the last two parts. In the first place, the main character was so strong that I couldn't pull the story out unless it was that special. It was not bad to finish at around a hundred eighty episodes, but I still had leftover material. So I tried to use it without paying any attention to my grades, since it was material that I would like to release, and a scenario that I wanted to use. I am satisfied, but I'm a little sorry to those of you who have dropped out on the way. 

By getting the last two ratings, the main character has a pure divine ability. Some of you worry about chaos or confusion at the end of the story, but it's just a part that I put in as a cautionary note that the power of this kind of manipulation is so strong that it could destabilize the world if he mismanages it. If the probability is not limited, he can pop his fingers a few times and destroy the world. The main character, Han Sang-hoon, has a pretty wife, a daughter and a son, so he will use it carefully.

From April to November... I feel relieved but sorry to have finished the series after more than half a year. I think I wrote it in my previous reviews that when I was in middle school and high school, I used to read genre novels, but I haven't read any genre novels in the ten years since then. A few years ago, when web novels appeared, I thought there was this new kind of novel, and I became a reader, and a writer, and then wrote four books.

I'm sure many of you remember the genre novels of ten years ago, but there weren't many contemporary fantasies of this kind at that time. Most of the time, I read pure fantasies, martial arts novels, and so on. So, I was going to write that kind of pure fantasy. It's been ten years since I came to the web fiction world, and I found that all the pure fantasies were dead, and there were only a fusion or a modern fantasy. Since the pure fantasy was not popular at all, I tried to write a modern fantasy to see if my writing would work or not.

That's how I have written three novels so far. Except for Master Hunter K, there has been a reversal of the order of host and guest. So, the next novel will go back to its original version, and even if I can't write a pure fantasy, it will go toward a fusion fantasy. Originally, I announced that I would release my next novel as a game fantasy. Due to the nature of the genre novel, I don't think I need to use the game format. So, I'm going to go to a fusion fantasy similar to the previous Master Hunter K.

Now, when I think about it, I think it's a personal achievement and a lucrative hobby. But now I've won a big prize after writing this novel, and I've changed my mind a little bit after getting too much love from you. It is no longer right to write with such amateurish ideas. I will reduce my stubbornness a little bit, and get closer to my readers with a little more professional writing, for the fun of my readers.

So, I'll return to you with the next novel, which reflects that aspect. It's something that readers might like more. In a month or two, after recovering my physical and mental strength, I'll be back after I'm finished with the idea of my next novel.

Okay, I'm just here to b*tch a little considering no one thinks it's worth the effort at least go 'Wow!' at a 'Wow!' Moment like the latest chapter. If it wasn't for Liam Robert and FlowingEmber consistently giving fire stones everyday, this would be on-hold.

There are those who say it's shortsighted for an Author to write in order to please an audience, and to those people who say that I'd like to ask: "What makes you think I'd write stories on unrealistic expectations of doing it for the sake of writing?"

There are those amateurs who put the art of writing a story on a pedestal even though you need keen senses and a retrospective eye for things if you want your story to work out. A story doesn't just pop out just because a writer has 'passion'.

I consider myself a 'Prologue Master' precisely because I like giving inspirations on how certain gimmicks in stories can be put together, and love diving into my imagination for my own entertainment, but doing that wouldn't be able to write a story, nor keep it consistent. It is so much easier writing without the intent to be 'serious'.

Let me list a few story ideas from the top of my head: Xianxia meets cultivating robot, robot meets fantasy world, fantasy world meets zombie apocalypse, zombie apocalypse meets hero's journey, hero's journey meets evil protagonist, evil protagonist meets power of friendship, power of friendship meets Wuxia, and these are only a few.

The beginning of my writing hobby started with writing gimmick-y plot lines like that.

Though now that I voice out my complain (or at least write it). I kinda feel my own immaturity regarding this since it isn't like you guys are at fault for not supporting a story like this common Isekai.

In fact, whenever I try mentioning that I've written an Isekai to others, I always get the cold shoulder as the over abundance of trashy harem Isekai light novel fags has made the word 'Isekai synonymous with 'Power Fantasy'. Once someone writes a story that's an Isekai but NOT a Power Fantasy, those stories are forgotten compared to those trash...

I feel like banging my head on a wall right now at why did I start writing this story as an Isekai all those years ago... Why couldn't I be content with just a supernatural or LitRPG fantasy?

I'm also feeling regret in going on Haitus a bunch of times (even though unavoidable family issues popped up back then). Maybe... this story wouldn't be weighing on my mind if I'd just didn't write it with actual 'seriousness'... If I kept to my pace like others who never actually finish their stories or go over the 30 chapter limit, then I wouldn't be feeling bad when a 'Wow!' Moment fails to get response.

Also, the fact that no one bothers to give this story reviews sucks. I know my Sakura Is Reincarnated- Naruto Edition, is only liked because of the already established Anime character, and that all those reviews I get aren't positive, they are at least better than nothing at all... There's even comments every chapter on that story even though I only update once a week. My motivation is going downhill...

Anyway, what would you guys want in the next chapter? Seeing exactly what the... main character of an alternate timeline does, or just go back to the present where Sapphire has been possessed by him. I'm not sure on how to continue anyway...

This is a story I worked on ages ago that has been refined and edited by adding foreshadowing to events while also simplifying the power system better than before. This story can be considered a prequel to An Adventure Beyond Greatness as it takes place years prior to the events of that story.

Short Synopsis:
After retiring from the battlefield, my life became empty and lifeless. The regrets of my past haunt me in my sleep. Then a change occurred, a King from another world summoned me to fight for his kingdom, but I died even before I could give him my answer. Now, after a fake God allowed me to reincarnate (albeit imperfectly) with my memories intact, into a world filled with magic and swords.

Long Synopsis:
This is about a flawed protagonist who only knew to rely on others and not socialise who gets a second chance to change himself in order to live the life he aimed for in his past life. The narrator isn’t exactly trustworthy since it is purely in his bias perspective while other perspectives given by others fill in the blanks that he either leaves out or twists to suit the situation.

The story itself can be considered a parody of Isekai’s classic tropes which are given a sense of reality as time goes by. As there exists no ‘Demon Lord’, there is also no black and white, only characters opinions and counter-opinions throughout the story.

I'm sorry for not writing chapters recently. I've been unable to find time for writing, and I don't know how long this is going to be the case. I hope I can return in the next few months, though.

I have no prior experience of writing a novel, therefore please excuse me when my sh*t writing inevitably makes its way into the novel. I hope I can get better at writing eventually so that this (sh*t writing) doesn't happen in the future. (haha)

Elyon knew that "Romance" is not his strong point. He writes a fantasy story with romance, but he can't tell if the romance will be able to attract female readers. Out of curiosity, he asked some of his fellow authors the question "Why do you read romance stories?"

Here are their answers…

Kyosei: Because I am single. 

Reili: To fill my empty void of a love life.

Minrei: Because romance let you feel what is to be loved, plus it is universal you dont need to learn magic or cultivation in order to read.

Bajj: Due to lack of romance irl.

Murakami: I read because I enjoy the friction and conflict between the FL and ML. The insistence vs resistance is naisu.

Qin: I reads romance only for ideas and info.

VlassisBehrakis: I don't read romance novels.

Elyon then  ̶a̶m̶b̶u̶s̶h̶e̶d̶ asked some readers about their opinion about romance novels.

Yin: I read romance novels because I want that kind of drama to happen to me in real life. But I know it will never happen haha.

A Certain Irresistible Meowlin: I wonder why? And I do read romance novels. Though the chance of me dropping them is also the highest out of all the genres. Every so often I come across a scene that makes me just want to squeal and fangirl.

Elyon decided to dig deeper and asked a few of his senior "romance authors" some questions about their reason for writing romance stories.

The first question is… Why did you choose to write Romance Stories?

Anjeeriku: I'm comfortable writing romance stories compared to other genres. I'm a helpless romantic person and I like novels that can invoke other people's feelings.

Bajj: First of all, I like reading romance story. It was the reason why I read books before and reading other genres comes after. All in all, due to these romance fiction books, I got the opportunity to read more great books with different genre.

MishaK: That's what I read, so write that too.

Zehell2218: Because as reader, I want to read romance novel so when I write, I write romance since my motto is I write what I want to read.

Ikazainudin: The easiest genre. Everyone can relate.

End_of_Era: It wasn't a full on Romance, it was slice of life with romance which I feel was necessary with progression of the characters.

The second question… When you were making your ML and FL, did you imagine yourself as the lead of your story at any given point in time?

Anjeeriku: I would be a liar if I said no. There were instances that I'd put myself in my FL's shoes. Whenever that happens, my writing feels more passionate and truthful that sometimes it was hard to know where my fl starts and where I end. 

Shen Yi, LMD's ML was based on a person I've lost, The One That Got Away so it was sometimes hard not to self-insert whenever there were scenes that need to invoke feelings from readers. 

Bajj: I believe that every character the author was making and breathing life into it, a part of him/her is added to its character. But me imagining of being the ML/FL, never. I'm too pure for that. Kek

MishaK: Yes I did but sometimes. Otherwise you can't infuse emotions in your characters. It is important to understand your characters.

Zehell2218: Yes, I imagine myself as the lead. Of course, I tweak it a bit, such as in age and appearance. But mostly, the characteristics is similar to me.

Ikazainudin: FL and ML character based on what I want to be irl. Yup. I imagine that will be my love story.

End_of_Era: Yes, my leads had some ocassional self insertion.

The third question… If you were to choose some other genre aside from romance, what would you pick?

Anjeeriku: Fantasy. I always look up to those authors who can write fantasy stories/novels well. I believe writing a fantasy novel is harder than writing romance.

Ai~ there's a few more that I won't add to the list because it will create a wall of text. Well anyways, the reason why I read these stories is to get an idea on "WHY" the ladies love to read them.

Let's just say that it's a unique way to see a world in the eye of a lady (if you are a man of course). When done properly, the execution of the story can capture the hearts of anyone, even male readers. I believe that no matter what gender you are, as long as you find the story interesting then it doesn't matter whether you are a guy or a gal no?

Perhaps, when I'm not too busy to write my stories, I'll once again pick a romance novel to read. Hopefully, I will find another hidden gem that will bring unexpected surprises to anyone who are lucky enough to find them.

The reason Aman had chosen ants as his familiar was simple.

They were already colonial creatures. They already had a strictly hierarchical society with distinct class division.

As such, they along with bees were the perfect organisms to begin learning the art of heavenly communion with.

And compared to bees, ants were a lot easier to find and introducing nano-photons within them was as simple as feeding them a bit of blood.

Try feeding bees blood and see how well you do.

In fact, Aman had found an anthill in one corner of the lawn in front of their house, hidden beneath the unkempt weeds.

So, he had a readymade source for his experimental material.

The act of using familiars has been a large part of fantasy literature whether eastern or western.

In western fantasy, mages, wizards and witches were said to have familiars like cats, toads, owls and rats.

There was a special class of mages known as druids whose powers solely dealt with communicating and controlling wild animals.

In eastern fantasy, there are mentions of contracted beasts and guardian beasts.

In fact, the method of binding either familiars or contracted beasts more often than not involved some sort of blood ritual, much like the one Aman had performed.

Who knows how much truth is hidden in these myths and fantasies?

That is what a large number of historians and mythical scientists are trying to uncover.

After an entire day of trial and error, he had finally managed to connect with one ant.

Right now, it was the morning of the next day, Sunday.

He had gotten up uncharacteristically early and trudged to the roof of their house.

Who needed an alarm when they had an AI in their head.

Yawning grumpily, he walked out onto the rooftop, watching the horizon obscured by the concrete jungle that was the cityscape.

Their house was only two stories tall and very little of the sky could be seen through the blockade of the towering skyscrapers that surrounded them.

There was still time for dawn to arrive and the sky was coloured a light purple by the sunlight that leaked from the horizon.

Taking a deep breath, Aman joined his palms in salutation in front of his chest and stood straight with feet shoulder width apart, facing the east.

Closing his eyes and activating his soul sight, he noticed his soul flowing languorously throughout his body.

In this pose, it seemed to stagnate a bit at the base of his spine before flowing on.

That was the position of his root chakra.

Concentrating, he made the speed of the soul's flow faster and faster until his soul began to automatically form a swirling vortex around his root chakra, growing denser the faster he made his soul flow.

He held the pose until the first rays of the rising sun leaked through the maze of buildings and fell on his face, tinting it a bright red.

Raising his joined palms above his head, he bent back, causing the flow of his soul to change.

This time, the vortex formed in the position of his sacral chakra, at the position where his spine bent when he leaned back.

Then he bent forward to touch his toes.

Then, posed with one foot forward and one foot fully stretched back with his hands touching the ground on both sides of the forward foot while his chest touched its knee. The half horse position.

Next, he stretched even the forward foot back, getting into a push-up position.

Bending forward, he let his forehead, elbows and knees touch the ground with his hips raised.

Sliding forward, he let his thighs touch the ground and arched his back.

Sliding back with his palms still on the ground, he raised his hips again and lowered his head till it was in line with his arms, finally leaving him in an inverted v position. Like a mountain.

Then he was back to the half horse position.

From there, he transitioned to a position of touching his toes, then straightened up and bent his body back with his joined palms raised above his head.

Finally, he was back to his starting position with his palms joined.

During each transition of posture, known as 'asanas' a different chakra was stimulated.

This entire set of exercises was known as the surya namaskar and was the most basic of yogic postures.

Surya meant sun in Sanskrit while namaskar referred to saluting someone with palms joined.

Thus, the set of exercises were originally a form of solar worship where one saluted the rising sun.

Breathing out a lungful of impure air, Aman relaxed.

He felt totally refreshed and inspecting his soul, he felt that it was a bit brighter than before.

Nama confirmed his suspicions.

[It seems that there is a slight improvement in the condition of your soul after practicing yoga. Let alone, even if there wasn't, it would be worth your time and effort simply because of the increase in cultivation speed upon performing the exercises in tandem with soul manipulation.]

He continued, [Now that our soul is at its peak condition, let's try controlling some ants again.]

Eager to try, Aman walked over to the glass jar with a perforated lid that he had brought from downstairs.

Closing his eyes, he focused on his Heaven chakra.

This time it was much smoother and soon, he could feel the tiny clusters of nano-photons that were his freshly ingested blood cells within the ants.

Focusing on one cluster, he tried to impose his will upon it.

Suddenly, his senses seemed to expand and it seemed like he was touching an alien consciousness.

It was an extremely rudimentary consciousness that seemed to think in terms of unitary actions like start, stop, bite, eat, return home.

It had no concept of past, present and future and hence it had almost nothing in terms of memory.

It was almost like a machine programmed to perform a particular task and all the previous instructions were modules of its programming.

The first time Aman had felt it, he had been so creeped out that he had lost his connection with it.

But this time he was prepared and now, he wanted to try and command it.

He tried to mimic the activity of the ant's soul when it was performing the actions and force its soul to behave that way with the nano-photons embedded within it.

It was too difficult. The main problem was that the nano-photons were too few to control the whole soul.

Now he understood what Nama meant when he said that the degree of control was dependent on the degree of integration of his soul with theirs.

But how was he to integrate more of his soul into them?

It was not like he could walk up to a hospital and say: "Hey there can you use your Gene Fuser to put my genes into this ant?"

And even if he could… it wouldn't be worth it.

Thinking hard, he came up with a solution the moment Nama spoke up.

[You don't have to control their whole soul, you can just imitate the stimuli they receive from the pheromones they emit. That is what makes them function.]

Ants emit a cocktail of chemicals known as pheromones… basically, they communicate with smells.

When they pick up a certain pheromone, they treat it as an instruction of what to do.

Ever wondered how ants find their way back to their nest? Pheromones are how.

When an ant finds food, they release a pheromone that says "food here" and other ants can follow it to there and as they walk, they keep releasing a trailing pheromone which they can retrace to find their way back to their nest.

Even, as more and more ants reach the food and make their way back, the path to it gets optimized as more ants chose to use the shortest path back, hence, making the concentration of pheromones on that path the most.

After observing the changes in the ant's soul and its reactions to the various pheromones, Aman finally had enough idea to attempt again.

This time, the nano-photons acted like a trigger and the ant itself did most of the work of moving.

It was like the difference between giving a machine commands versus giving every component of the machine its own command.

The burden on him reduced drastically.

Aman also found that this way, he could give several ants the same commands with the same effort.

He threw himself into his practice, only stopping to meditate to alleviate his fatigue or have his lunch and visit the washroom.

By the end of the day, he had dark circles around his eyes and his head hurt from excessive thinking but his eyes were bright.

They were filled with confidence and anticipation for the next day.

The setting sun cast a long shadow as he left the roof.

If someone were to take a closer glance at the shadow, they would see it filled with neat rows of ants arranged in rectangular formations.

His ant legion.

I'm so very very happy you chose to read the first-ever fantasy story I'm writing here on Webnovel. 

Before I let you guys proceed to chapter 1, I'd like to inform you guys that I'm still exploring the horizons of my writing skills. That's why from writing romance novels at first, I switched to fantasy right after I finished writing "Love & Hate" (my first completed story in Wattpad). And so far, I want to complete this story since I learned to enjoy writing it aside from the stress it caused me. Char! XD

When those last words were spoken by both of them, Scarlet felt an unimaginable pain tearing her body apart. Her eyebrows creased while she endured the earsplitting pain. Her forehead was sweating profusely and her lips was turning a shade that was pale of color.

"Ahh!" Scarlet screamed. She almost let go of Jasper's hands. The pain was unbearable for her but Jasper's little hands held unto hers, encouraging her to endure the pain with him since he was experiencing the same torture as well... She was not alone.

When the pain finally subsided the rope connecting them both shattered into pieces. Scarlet was exhausted throughout the whole process. She couldn't open her eyes. 

Scarlet felt her body weak of strength, fall to the ground, but strong, sturdy arms caught her fall. 

Right after that, she heard a husky baritone voice.

"Finally..." the person's minty breath fanning her face. "You're mine now."

His gazed went back to his sleeping wife once again, not realizing his feet was taking a few steps closer to her bed before he sat on the edge beside her, not breaking his eyes away from her beautiful face.

"What do I do with you…?" 

His voice was hoarse as he lovingly stroked her cheek with the back of his hand. Then he gently traced the side of her face with his fingers, immersing himself with the feel of her warm skin on his palm when all of a sudden, a slender hand grabbed his wandering fingers before her exquisite eyelids fluttered open, her striking black irises looking back at him.

Jasper was stunned motionless right away. His eyes burning with embarrassment feeling he was caught doing something shameful towards her. While his mind was thinking of an excuse, the emotion inside Scarlet's eyes eased up as the corners of her crimson red lips twisted upwards. Her delicate face containing a captivating smile.

"Finally... I caught you." Her gentle yet melodious voice said, making Jasper flinch beside her.
