Childhood; an age full of innocence…. and at this age having his parents gone missing, unknowingly, he lost his freedom to his evil elders and before he realised it; it was already too late. He found himself drowning in the sea of schemes. If exposed could destroy his life.

Though dejected, he would have let his life continue as it is, if it weren't for one unforeseen event, which pushed him to make a decision, which was imperiling but could earn his freedom back.

I've always had a problem with fan fiction because it makes me feel like I can't call it my own. As fanfics normally pay homage to the original works they are based off, it made me feel as if the story I'm telling was was someone else's than 'mine'.

I guess this is the reason why I dropped Sakura Is Reincarnated even though I was able to capture the tone and feel of the original Anime while adding my own flare to characters. The feeling as if I couldn't call that work completely 'original' gnawed at me...

Now you guys may be wondering why I'm even bringing this up if I'm so against doing a fan-fiction of my own. I mean, saying it like this is basically looking down on fanfic writers in general.

In fact, that's not what I'm trying to say. I actually like how people can change only tiny bits of the original to create a brand new storyline. That's why I'm going write the most fanfic-y fanfic imaginable not by modern standards, but by its definition!

I'm going to write Amalgam System again, but this time what I'll be setting it inside will be my original fantasy I used in Battlefield Restart 2- An Adventure Beyond Greatness. The 'fanfic' nature of this new story I'll be writing will be older stories.

Instead of a Naruto or Bleach fanfic, this will be fanficing multiple older fictions like the Arthurian Legends, Norse Mythology, Celtic Mythology, and etc. That way I'll be able to call it my own even if I AM borrowing elements from multiple things just to write a power fantasy. The cool factor will only go up by virtue of the MC being able to fuse them.

It will be the kind of fantasy like Slime Reincarnation but with an Amalgam System!

Simon has always been the type of guy who would calculate before attempting anything. He was kinda like a Living Computer. Things went well in his life as he was going through high school, but one day he found himself transported to another world.

The first time it happened, he lived honestly as a Grand Hero. The second time it happened in College, he lived vicariously as a Beast King. This didn’t happen a third time, which lead to many things happening until he gave up to live his life.

He adopted a grandson, and started to live life while believing that he was needed more on Earth now.

However, the forces of the Other World disagree.

Some of you may not be familiar with this kind of genre so I'm going to type the definition I found in Wikipedia to help you understand what this story is about.

Omegaverse, also known as A/B/O (an acronym for "alpha/beta/omega"), is a sub-genre of speculative erotic fiction, and originally a sub-genre of erotic slash fan fiction. Stories in the genre are premised on societies wherein humans are divided into a dominance hierarchy of dominant "alphas", neutral "betas", and submissive "omegas". 93% of the human population is comprised with betas, 4% of high class alphas, and 3% of... the lowly omegas.

Betas are pretty average compared to alphas and omegas. Average looks, height, body build, and genitals. Alphas are intimidating, good-looking, tall, and they also excel at everything. They have big genitals... and they are dominant in bed. Omegas have small bodies build and small genitals. They are undeniably pretty, whether they're men or women, and they also pretty much excel at a lot of things just like alphas--- but unfortunately, they're still considered as lowly human beings solely because they can't control their heat cycles and it interferes with their daily lives. An omega's heat cycle is also irregular, and omegas with a regular heat cycle is very rare. Those omegas are considered to be dominant as they also have very strong pheromones. Recessive omegas have very weak scent and have low fertility rate. Alphas on the other hand don't have to suffer a lot because it's quite rare for an alpha to experience a rut. At most, maybe they will have a rut only twice a year. Dominant alphas have strong pheromones, and on the contrary, recessive alphas have weak pheromones.

Alphas can impregnate omegas easily through knotting, and an omega's fertility rate would be higher when they are in heat. Betas on the other hand could also impregnate omegas whether the omega is male or female, but it is considered rare if this happens.

At the young age of seven, I realized that I was a beta. I wasn't particularly pretty like omegas, or tall like alphas. I did not excel at anything, too. I was average.

I just turned 12 four months ago, and we'll be getting the results of the examination to know if we're betas, alphas, or omegas.

In my case, I was sure of my second gender—I was sure that I was a beta. It was pretty obvious. My parents are both betas, so it makes sense that I am, too.

Our teacher called us one by one to give us the test results. "Justin," she called my name. I stood up and walked towards her, not feeling excited to know my result at all since it's predictable. She handed me a piece of paper and smiled.

"Thank you," I said and walked back to my seat. I did not bother taking a look at the piece of paper I'm holding, because just like what I said, I am sure that I am a beta.

After our teacher handed the results, she immediately left because she was called by the principal. The classroom started getting noisy because my classmates started asking each other what their second genders are.

It's really rare if you encounter alphas and omegas, so I kind of guessed that everyone here in this classroom is a beta like me. Well, from what I've heard, there were only two omegas and no alphas in the batch of the seniors one year ahead of us. It's very unlikely that there would be a lot of alphas and omegas in our batch too. After all, alphas and omegas are very rare. Well, it would be great if I were an alpha, but being an omega would totally suck. I'm already thankful that I'm a beta, at least I would live a more peaceful life compared to omegas.

"Justin, are you a beta too?" One of my classmates asked. "What do you think?" I said and chuckled. "Ah, I knew it. Same, bro," he said and raised his hand for a high five. I raised my hand as well and slammed it against his for a high five. "Are there no alphas and omegas here?" I asked, wanting to know if my assumption was right. Before he could even answer, someone suddenly yelled.

"Woah! Troy is an alpha guys!" One of my classmates yelled.

My eyes widened due to shock as I heard what my classmate said. Everybody then surrounded him and kept asking him questions.

I wasn't expecting that.

"Ah, I wasn't really expecting that I'm an alpha," Troy said as he scratched his head awkwardly.

Whatever. What's so special about being an alpha anyway? Ugh! I'm contradicting myself. Earlier, I just thought that being an alpha would be great, yet here I am, being so bitter because one of my classmates is an alpha.

I looked lowered my head and looked at the paper I am holding. Maybe I should at least take a look to confirm if I really am a beta, right? There must be even a slightest chance that I might be an alpha.

Hoo... Okay, here it goes.

I flipped the paper and bit my lower lip when I saw the result.

I'm a beta.

Or at least that's what I thought until I saw what was written on this paper.

I am currently in the backstage of the 'Shawn Vaughn Show', a late-night talk show here in London. Because I am the first British author to be awarded the Outcault Prize for Fiction after twenty years, the producers of the talk show invited me. Because I'm also a fan of the show, I did not hesitate and accepted to appear as a guest. The reason why I like the show, is also the reason why I'm hyping myself up. Shawn likes to ask questions that would catch his guests off-guard or even offend them.
I was actually already awarded the prize last February but after my novel became a best seller, that was only when these TV people got interested in me. I have no grudges for these TV people however; after all, that's just how the world works.
After a listening to Shawn's monologue, I was finally called out. "Our first guest for the night; the award-winning author HELENA PADDINGTON!" I walked out to the platform to join Shawn. I also heard the enthusiastic cheer from the audience members, which I found unexpected, so I smiled and nodded at them to return the greeting.
After I took my seat at the couch, and Shawn took his at his chair, I had to force my mind to be vigilant. I have to be to not say something stupid during the interview. "I like your dress!" Shawn said as he pointed at my blue dress which a friend forced me to wear when she found out I'm going to this show. "Thank you. It's like I'm dressed up for a date." I replied.
"Ah. That's too bad, I don't prefer women." Shawn said with a swivel of his head, which the crowd chuckled at. He's gay. "Well, I just want to look good for you, Shawn. I'm a fan." I said. "Thank you." Shawn replied. That's what I like about him. Unlike other talk show hosts that would say 'I'm a fan as well', Shawn is honest.
"So. While I announced you as an award winning author, can you tell the people at home what prize you won?" Shawn asked. "It's the Outcault Prize for Fiction. An international award." I explained. "And this is special! Right? You are the first British recipient of the award since Evan Houghton for 'Greater Power'." Shawn said to me, but he's actually informing the audience. "Yes. That's right. The first British awardee in twenty two years." I clarified. I heard then an audience member clap followed by the rest of them for applause. I just nodded in response.
"How does it feel? This has to be huge, right?" Shawn asked. "Well. Yes. I never would have thought I would win this prize ever in my life, so it's an honor." I replied. Which is true. I did not write my book to win an award but just to tell a story.
"Hmm. What the viewers don't know is that you also won another international award years ago." Shawn primed. "Yes. I won the Sohlman Prize twelve years ago but because my books did not sell very well, no one aside from the literary circles appreciated my book." I said. "That's unfortunate. I hope the viewers at home will not only buy your recent book, but also your other novels." Shawn said. "I hope so too." I said, don't know what else to say.
"Anyway, I've read your book, but to the viewers who have not, can you tell us a short synopsis?" Shawn said. "My book's title is Australia. It is a story about people who had gone to Australia as tourists. When they got lost, the wild life is not only their enemy, but themselves, their emotions, and their psychological natures as well. It tells about the stories of people like a lone young man, a childless couple, and two sisters who went to the Australian wild to reconnect to each other." I said.
"I've read your book, and I have to say. It's thrilling. I reminded me that I cannot always handle things by myself, but with the help of others too. I'm not going to spoil it for the readers, but that is just one lesson I took from your book." Shawn said. "Thank you. I'm glad it gave you a lesson I intended." I said, genuinely glad. Shawn actually read my book, unlike most of the people that interviewed me.
"But. Why Australia?" Shawn asked a good question. "Well, when I was there for vacation, I noticed that Australia is a place where the modernity meets the primal savagery of nature. So I thought, about the human experience of travelling to the wild. Why would people even leave the comfort of the city to explore the dangerous wild life?" I said. "Many would out of curiosity and adventure, right?" Shawn asked.
"That's true. BUT, just like me who went there to know more about myself, I'm certain that other people went there as well not just to see the wild life. I got interested in those people and their stories." I explained without spoiling my book that much. "Hmm. Indeed. In your book, the wild life is not only an experience of the wild, but it also brings out things that we didn't know about ourselves, and that we would do things we would not even think of doing." Shawn said, supplementing my words.
"Yes. Will it make a person a hero? Will it make a person more selfish? What are we really willing to do for survival? Would we sacrifice ourselves? Or others? I explored these questions with the stories I wrote in my book." I said. Shawn shook his head while staring emptily. That is not a bad gesture. I can see the audience absorbed looking at the pondering expression of Shawn.
"What we're trying to say is, buy the book, everybody!" Shawn concluded. Our discourse about my book would never end had he not cut it short. I didn't like it to end, but to avoid spoiling too much or ramping up the viewers' expectations to my book, I'm glad we also moved on. We spent a few minutes talking about mundane stuff like where I grew up, which food I like, or
"Talking about novels. Have you heard of T.L.D Grimmauld?" Shawn asked. This is the part where Shawn talks to his guests about other things aside from the things the guests promote. His question, however, caught me off-guard. I never expected him to talk about another author. Not only any other author but the enviable Mr. Grimmauld.
"Oh. Who have not? I'm pretty sure some people here in the studio have read his books, right?" I asked. I saw from the corner of my eyes some audience members nodding to themselves. "I have. By any chance, have you met him, or her?" Shawn asked. I almost scoffed at this. Many people tried to look for the author. I too tried to solve the mystery of his identity. I even think that T.L.D Grimmauld is actually not a single author but a group of them. There's no way one man can make 'Middle Earth' by himself.
"It's 'him'. From what I heard, he is an author from Teungeb. But, no. I have not met him. I would love to meet him someday, however." I said, which is true. I want to talk to him or them about their writing process. "What about his work?" Shawn asked.
"Hmm. I am amazed at how he was able to transport us to another world in his novel. The races, the culture, the societies are so detailed; I can't imagine how much effort he put into making them, or the creativity it even took. I could only say that his novel was fueled by imagination." I told Shawn my opinion. "That is true. I would love to see it in a film. Do you think he deserves an award?" Shawn said. I did not like the question. I don't know if Shawn did it intentionally, but it is a trap. I decided to tread carefully.
"Honestly, I don't know. His book is the first of its own kind and there's nothing else like it to compare it to. Saying that, I don't think his book will suit to any existing award. Most fiction awards would talk about the human experience, people's trauma and happiness. Grimmauld did not go deep into that in his novel." I said. From the criteria of any award right now, 'The Halfling' does not meet them.
"So you're not saying he does not deserve an award, but if he competes, he cannot win anyway?" Shawn asked. "Yes. However, I would think of his work as the definition of a pioneer. If I try to write a novel about a fantastical world of different races and cultures, I don't think it will even compare to Mr. Grimmauld's 'The Halfling'. Look, in exchange for the depth of the emotions of the characters that fiction should have, Mr. Grimmauld used that depth in making his novel's world." I replied.
"Aha. That makes sense. By the way, you said pioneer. Do you think other authors will start to write fantasy novels like the one in 'The Halfling'?" Shawn said. "Oh absolutely. It's new and it's attractive, and it offers great escapism. I too want to seek refuge from the world to a new one, even just through a book. Honestly, I'm tempted to write a fantasy tale too, but I think it will take years for me to write one. I'd rather stick with what I know." I said.
I was not being entirely honest, however. Even though I want to tell great stories that I want to tell in my writing, I would also want to be wealthy by writing to the demand of the market. Not suffering from financial pressure while writing a book would be very very nice.

What we consider to be the oldest novel in world literature really depends on the strictness of our definition of a novel. The looser the definition, the farther back we can go.

For example, the Japanese work the Tale of Genji(11th century A.D) by Murasaki Shikibu is often cited as the oldest novel in the world. But if you were to read the Tale of Genji, you might find it very different in nature to modern novels you are used to reading.

The modern novel is a specific type of prose fiction that only really became popular and recognized as a distinct form in the 18th century. We have now come to expect that a novel will include certain elements, including a plot, a protagonist or narrator, some central characters, possibly some central themes, and a conflict that may or may not be resolved. Many novels contain a climax near the end.

The Tale of Genji is wonderful literature, especially in Arthur Waley's idiomatic translation, but the plot is meandering, it does not have an ending, and the narrative is frequently interrupted by hundreds of poems. In order to include the Tale of Genji as a candidate for world's oldest novel, we are taking a relatively broad view of what we consider to be a novel. Under this broad definition, the Satyriconwritten by Petronius in the 1st century A.D. would easily beat the Tale of Genji to the title of world's oldest novel.

Under a stricter definition, Don Quixote (1605–1615) by Miguel de Cervantes might be considered the world's first novel.

A book that many consider to be the world's first "modern novel" is Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe, which was first published in 1719. Robinson Crusoe marks the beginning of realistic fiction in world literature, and is certainly another contender for the world's first novel depending on the strictness of our definition.

Dying was not what I had expected it to be. No heaven, no hell. It seemed that most religions were wrong on what the afterlife truly is. Funny enough, the most accurate were actually otakus. I was currently sitting in front of an old man, who was telling me that he took pity on my death, and is offering me what so many others would kill to get.
"Three wishes?"
"Correct young man, you have three wishes."
"Are they allowed to be based on fictional concepts? Such as anime or TV?"
"Well, considering that the omniverse is infinite, your definition of fiction is another definition of reality. So yes, you may."
"Oh neat, then for my first wish, could I get a customization screen to create a character based on Overlord? This includes my background and everything. Please allow me to have infinite growth potential as well, so no limit at level 100."
I see the ROB nod and wave his hand. In front of me appears a screen. On the said screen is a... man? I am not really sure because he doesn't have a dick. I do see customization options on the right side, in which I can customize the looks of my new body. Under the screen is a text option with the words 'backstory' on top of it. 
I get straight to work. Although I was a big fan of Momonga and he was one of my favorite characters, I didn't really feel like sharing...if you know what I mean. 
I change my backstory to be that I was one of the original nine to join Ainz Ooal Gown, as well as being the guild master. Ainz never joined, instead, he joined a different guild. He will not end up in the New World, however.
I was a level 100 elder dragon. I didn't want to only be a dragon, however. I wanted a human form for...certain activities that I would not be able to do as a dragon, so I customized it where I completed a hidden quest. This quest's rewards allowed me to switch between dragon and human form at will.
I was a world champion and was the one who led the defenses against the player invasion of Nazarick. I killed hundreds of high-level players, and lead to several of them rage quitting. I also destroyed many top guilds and established myself as the strongest player.
I also added many new world items that I had gained on my conquest of different guilds.
Now on to my looks;

I was finally satisfied, after a good 30 minutes just changing everything. My dragon form was next, however.

Perfect, now for my second wish.
"Can I state my second wish?"
"Go ahead."
"Ok, for my second wish please give me the ability to bring myself, and the entire guild of Nazarick through the multiverse while being able to travel between worlds we had been to whenever. Also please get rid of the bottleneck at level 100 for the people of Nazarick and allow them to have unlimited potential, similar to me."
"Hmm, that is two wishes. Fine, I will allow it."
"Thank you so much. For my final wish please give me unparalleled talent. Whether for magic or for marital practices. For every single thing please allow me to have extreme talent in these areas."
"That is easy, very well are these your three wishes? You have no wish to change anything?"
"No, thank you ROB for this chance." He smiled at me and waved his hand before saying,
"I don't need your thanks, young man. Enjoy your new life." Before I could respond, I felt myself fading and being pulled away. I gave the ROB a smile before fully fading out of his domain.

I woke up in a throne room, with a time at the top of my screen. Looking down at myself I could see that this was the body I made in the character creation screen. So this must be the throne of Nazarick.

Hmm, so I have only a couple of seconds. In front of me, I can see the Pleiades from the anime, Albedo, and Sebas. Albedo was beautiful that is for sure. She's got a pair of melons on her if I have ever seen any. I was not ready however for her to look up and smile seductively towards me as if she realized where I was looking.

So, she gained her sentience then. Or did she always have it? Well, it seems this is my beginning, in this new life of mine.
"Sebas, bring yourself and the Pleiades outside the tomb and look around for a mile radius, it seems that something interesting has happened."
"Yes, Lord Alyxander." Sebas got up, nodded at the maids who in turn stood up and walked out, leaving me and Albedo alone in the throne room.
"Do you have any orders for me Lord Alyxander?"
