Part 1 – Island of Dolls

"AAAAYYYY MMMIIISSSS HHHIIIJJJOOSSS" The woman begins to walk with two children. She turns right and walks down the tree.

"Where is she going?" Majorie asks Bella. Bella turns around with a serious face and says:

"Why don´t you follow her silently she will not notice."

Uriel and Marjorie begin follow her to see what´s going on. The two of them see how the ghost stops in a tree. The ghost hugs the pair of children, a boy and a girl. The ghost chants in ancient Aztec: "Separacion de Almas" (Separation of Souls)

Soon light begins to shine in the children´s chest. The light begins to come out of the souls and form small spheres. The two children pass out. Marjorie covers her mouth with fear and tries to walk forward. Uriel grabs Marjorie holding her and grabbing her mouth whispering:

"Please don´t move, I know it hurts but trust me I will save them."

The ghost puts the souls in two different dolls hanging in the trees. The bodies of the children turn into ashes. Marjorie begins to cry, the two dolls begin to move their heads. The ghost then says: "Descansen niños" ( Rest my children). She begins to cry once more and walks slowly screaming:

"AAAAAYYYYY MMMMIIIISSS HHHHHIIIJJJJOOOOSSSSS"

After she disappears Uriel and Marjorie lean back breathing heavily. Bella appears in front of them and says:

"Now you see, what´s happening, that ghost is La Llorona!"

Uriel and Marjorie put a frightened face. Uriel replies: "The weeping lady?"

"Yes the famous ghost you probably heard about from your parents or some other adults" Bella says as she grabs a doll of tree, she continues to explain:

"This doll is the soul of a lost child, La Llorona walks around the area grabbing children who she feels are suffering and takes them hear. She separates their souls and puts them in dolls so they could be safe"

"But why does she do that?" Marjorie asks with a shaky voice.

"She is searching for her lost children. Nobody knows about her, but the legend says her children lost their lives due to a fire however some say she drown them. The reason is unknown but this spirit has been lurking for centuries in search of her children." Bella says causing Uriel to feel fear, she continues to explain:

"She thinks she is doing well but you can see them do you, Uriel?"

Uriel looks around and sees the souls of the children who are playing in the trees. They are glowing white with white dresses for the girls or shirts and pants for the boys. He makes a fist and says:

"This is not good, they should not be here, they need to find peace."

"But why muchaho, they look happy don´t they?" Bella says testing him.

Uriel stands up and replies: "They are not free, they are trapped they need to move on, I promise I will know why she does that and help her."

Marjorie stands and grabs his hand saying: "I will help you as well Uriel."

"Ahh young love hahaaha" Bella says as she grabs her cat, she continues to speak:

"La Llorona will return in one hour so you can speak to her. Meanwhile let´s go eat something, I bet you are hungry."

(GGGRRROOOWWLLL)

The two of them have red faces as their stomach growls and both of them say: "YES PLEASE."

Part 2 - At the Hotel.

Katsumi and Johanna found Victoria, Angela and Raul unconscious in a tree close to the road. Currently they are in a Katsumi´s room since no one had any injuries. Katsumi is looking after them. Katsumi is in the other room taking care of Alejandro and Xochitl who both had serious injuries. However the other seven students and the Doctors are still missing.

(KNOCK, KNOCK)

"I´m coming in" Katsumi says as she enters the room, seeing Johanna sleeping.

(BOOOOMM)

Katsumi hits Johanna waking her up. "OUCH!!" Johanna says to Katsumi. She smiles and says to Johanna:

"You are supposed to look after them not to sleep!!!"

Xochitl wakes up and begins to cry as she looks at the environment.

"Are you alright?" Katsumi asks but Xochitl answers in ancient Aztec.

Johanna clueless replies: "What did she say?"

"Wait I got something that could help us" Katsumi replies as she takes out a sphere and throws it in the ground. The ball opens up releasing a green light.

"There, now once again,are you okay?" Katsumi says to Xochitl who replies:

"I-I-I´m okay but where is my brother?"

"This is awesome; your organization is really something." Johanna says with stars in her eyes.

"We don't know were your brother is, I'm sorry" Katsumi replies to Xochitl.

"Well I know where he is at." Xochitl says.

(GGRRROOOOWWWWLLL)

Xochitl stomach growls, Katsumi gives her a plate of rice with meat. Xochitl begins to cry and says: "Thank you it looks delicious" She begins to eat as she cries.

"We can help you, so don't worry about it. Now tell us what's going on and your story?"

Katsumi says to Xochitl, Xochitl finishes eating and says:

"Very well, I will tell you part of my past"

The fate of the world is about to Change as the only salvation for the future relies on the hands of a Substitute Teacher?

The following story is the first part  of an action, romance; comedy  and supernatural adventures of a young man who only wishes to have a normal life, however the contrary happened to his fate as he is about to witness the dark side of the world and how cruel life can be. This is the first part of a new original story . This gift was given to him by a mysterious figure in Mexican folklore who´s character is still a mystery. 

            I am proud to present this project to everyone who loves light novels and anime series. I hope in the future this story will be in the liking of all readers as it combines historical and mythical events, also copyright will try to be avoided as much as possible. The scenes and people that take part of this story are completely fiction.

       I wasn't always like this, a monster, I was once what was considered normal. That, of course, was a long time ago. I am very sure that I haven't suffered as you have, dear survivor, but I'd like to at least keep the history of this shattered world. I will not be in history books that I know thus you will only know me by my research name, 307. This is not a sad story, nor is this history of those who speak in the language you are reading in. This is the story of Verokia.

The God Children Project 

    When the Planet of Verokia split in half, scientists made a study to make the concept of heroes real. They took children from each country only to find the ones that survived were from a small and secretive country called Allerand. This was terrible news to the head scientist who was a man of a strange little planet called earth. The lead creatures of Earth who persistently call themselves humans, the master race, detest the Allerish due to their winnings in many wars. The children were put through torture and many experiments until they held a very important power. The most famous was a small five-year-old boy who was known as 307, he was able to shift into a simple songbird. This was not why he became famous though, he earned his fame since he was the only child to escape that night only ended in tragedy though. He killed the only Earth woman who survived the trip to Verokia. She was also the wife to his caretaker, Mathias Lord, he had sworn to keep a close eye on the miscreant until the end of his days. 

The corridors were cold and quiet when he made his way to 307's cell, an old song his wife sang to his daughters cursed his mind as he looked at the door. He felt his heart shatter all over again while standing there, he had never felt so alone in his life until now. He took a deep breath and opened the door to look at this small boy, he still could not grasp the fact that someone who looked so fragile could kill someone in the way this child did. But, this was the known danger of the job. 

"Good morning 307," he spoke harshly while his anger consumed him. It felt like lava, boiling his bones and holding his heart as he watched this boy look away and refuse to answer. He studied the heartless killer for a moment. 307 was thin with light brown skin, he had short auburn hair and lifeless, brown eyes. The child had a cut on his elf-like ear and a scar on his left cheek where his wife was able to defend herself. His clothes were like all the others, a light grey shirt with tattered pants hung loosely on his delicate frame. He deceivingly looked like he was made of glass which made it easier for him to lure people into a painful end. He shifted anxiously while waiting for whatever hell he would have to go through today, Mathias indeed planned a horrible punishment for the boy, but it was all going to start with a  simple conversation. 

"How did it feel… when you did it? Did you feel victory?" He prepared many syringes. "You killed a kind-hearted woman, she was a mother of three beautiful children. You killed their mother." 

"Mother? Is that what you're going to use against me? Yes, that's appropriate, bring up a loving mother to an orphan to hurt them." The small boy's voice croaked like a frog due to dehydration and sleep deprivation. It made the poor scientist smile hearing the broken melody. He picked up the first syringe and looked over his shoulder. 

"You do make a convincing point, guess I should remember you have no heart." he walked over and stuck the needle into his fragile forehead and put the burning poison into his bloodstream only to listen to 307's tired screams. "This is small compared to the pain you gave me, this is ALSO small compared to the pain I'll put you through today!" He pulled up a stool and watched the boy scream in agony. His cries were soon accompanied by other children who feared they might be next. Mathias could not help but laugh, this became his new entertainment. Day after day he would put 307 through the same torture until it became mundane. He started his new fun by taking a small part of his ear, then it escalated to his stomach, later a kidney, lung, intestine. He replaced the human-like parts with machines. 307 had to learn how to fix his damaged parts and survive like this until the Anti project revolution broke in and saved him and the last surviving few. 

Mathias was killed during the revolution but his work still haunts the now seven-year-old 307. He was put in the survivor home and the adults there affectionately call him Jay Willams. He became the town's sweet bluebird which was his ticket to fame. History books depicted him as a great hero and tourists prayed to him like he was a god.  Jay was not pleased by this treat

Three unlikely forces connect through a series of trials. Will they be able to defeat the great evil sperating their planet? Or will they fall to the charms of the possesed prince?

Daddy!  Bobby opened his eyes just in time to see a tiny blonde missile launch herself onto the bed.
Hey there, June bug, he cooed, wrapping his daughter in his arms.  How are you feeling?
Jerilyn smiled in at them from the door.  She seems a little better than yesterday.
Better, huh?  He sat the little girl across his stomach.  What do suppose wed have to do to talk Nana into making us some of her famous pancakes?
She held out her hand to Savannah.  Come on, cher.  Let your Daddy get up.  Well go fix him some pancakes.
Freshly showered and dressed in jeans and a navy polo, Bobby followed his nose to the giant kitchen of his parents home.  With eight bedrooms and ten acres backing up to the marshes, Justin and Jerilyn Beaulieu had more than enough room for their six children, their spouses, and currently seven grandchildren.  
Here, Daddy, Savannah said, indicating a stool beside hers at the breakfast bar.
Jerilyn placed a plate stacked with pancakes in front of Bobby.  Want some coffee?
Please, he replied.  It had been after 3:00 am when the cab had dropped him off.  Glancing at the clock he saw that it was now 7:30.  Beside him, Savannah prattled to no one in particular as she nibbled on her pancakes.  Wheres Pop? Bobby asked.
He went out fishing early this morning.  You look tired, bébé.
He smiled reassuringly.  Im fine, maman.  He checked his phone and felt a wave of contentment.  Maggie had replied with her morning text.
Good morning, Bobby.  Hope you had a good flight and that Savannah is feeling better.  Enjoy your time with your family.  I miss you.  xx  
Bobby smiled as he typed in a quick note in return.  
I arrived safe and sound.  Savannah seems better.  Im glad to be here but I miss my tite cher. x
When he glanced back up, his mother was watching him intently.  Was that your little girl?
Her name is Maggie, maman.  He couldnt help grinning.  And yes, it was.
Jerilyn shook her head.  Lord have mercy.
Maggie smiled as she reread Bobbys reply.  Hed arrived in Louisiana, and Savannah was apparently feeling a little better.  That was good news.  Maggie wondered if hed have time to talk later.  She supposed that there would be all kinds of family Easter festivities, and she definitely didnt want to interfere with Bobbys time with his daughter.  Heaving a sigh, she returned to the stacks of files on her desk.
Hi, Maggie.  She looked up to see Rance leaning against her open doorway.
Hi, boss, whats up? she smiled.
He didnt respond.  Instead, he fixed her with a Cheshire grin.
What? she laughed.
I heard that one of my best litigators left court at the lunch recess yesterday with a future hall of famer.
Her eyes widened.  Oh.  That.  She felt the flush crawl up her cheeks.
Would he be the sender of those lovely tulips that were delivered recently?
Maggie gently cleared her throat.  Were, um, going out.  She looked Rance directly in the eye.
He maintained eye contact for a beat before breaking into laughter.  Good for you, he said genuinely.  You should get out more.  As he walked away, he tossed over his shoulder, Remember, youre inviting Jason and me to the wedding.
She rolled her eyes, fanning herself with a file folder.
After work, Maggie stopped to pick up some more chicken soup.  She hated getting the same thing every day but at least she knew Michael would eat it.  Yesterday, hed had his last chemo appointment for this round.  She hoped that hed be feeling a little better today.
As she let herself into his apartment, she could hear baseball on the television and she felt a flash of annoyance.  Any time of the day or night, theres always baseball.  Then she smiled to herself.  Baseball is only interesting if theres a certain bayou boy involved.
Still smiling to herself as she rounded the corner into the living room, her gaze fell on Michael, and she stopped dead in her tracks.  
Holy.  Fucking.  Shit.  Sean Michael Rannigan, what in the hell have you done?
He grinned up at her.  Hey, Mags!  I shaved.  Michael was completely bald, his scalp pink and shiny in the afternoon sun that streamed in through the windows.  Speechless, she walked to him and smoothed her hand across the top of his head and down the back of it.
Why?  Why on earth would you do that? she breathed as she sank beside him onto the sofa.
He looked down and she saw his jaw tighten.  I woke up this morning and found loose hair on my pillow.  In the shower, it came out by the handful.  
He glanced back up at her.  I just wanted he trailed off.  Maggie placed her hand on his arm.  I just wanted to control something.  Since this whole thing started, I havent had any control.  
He ran his hand over his head and grinned.  Until now.  If Im going to lose my hair, Im going to lose all of it, and on my own terms.
Maggie couldnt help smiling.  Well, she said as she stood, you have a very nice head.  She leaned down and planted a light kiss right on top.  
How are you feeling? she asked as she headed into the kitchen.
A little better, actually.  That soup smells good.
She returned carrying a tray with his dinner.  Glad to hear it.  Because guess what?  You will be joining us for Easter brunch on Sunday.
I dont know, Mags.  Michael shook his head doubtfully.  Besides, you and Beau should enjoy it by yourselves.
Bobby is in Louisiana.  The us to whom I refer means me, Ben and Nate, Rance and Jason, Kevin and whoever hes bringing, and a few others.
Michael looked doubtful.  Im not sure Im up to going out.
You need to get out and get some fresh air, Michael.  Youve been cooped up too long.  Take advantage of feeling better and come to brunch.  Ill pick you up, and we can go together.  She glanced at him sideways.  Youd better find a hat, though.
Bobby relished the time he spent with Savannah.  It occurred to him that maybe Deanna had made a bigger deal than necessary of the little girls illness.  
His mood was thoughtful as he sipped his beer and watched Savannah running and playing with her cousins after a delicious meal on Friday evening.  The entire family had gathered at his sister Michelles house for a Good Friday dinner.  Now the adults relaxed on the patio as the children played on the lawn.
Everyone would be at Jerilyn and Justins on Sunday for the big holiday meal and traditional Easter egg hunt.  If Bobby knew his mother, shed have been scrambling since hed called to say the New York trip was off, putting together eggs at the last minute.  It would probably be up to him, his brothers-in-law, and his father to hide about half a million plastic eggs all around the outside of the house bright and early on Sunday morning.  He smiled contentedly.
Bobby, can I get you anything? his sister Michelles husband Russ asked.
Bobby shook his head.  I think Im just about fine.
Just about Russ repeated, grinning.  Sounds like something is missing.  Rumor has it you have a new girlfriend.
Bobby glanced around realizing that all other conversations had stopped.  The only voices were those of the children who ran squealing across the lawn.
Ro-bert has found himself a city girl, his mother said.  There was friendly laughter all around.
Maggies not a city girl.  Shes originally from North Carolina.  She lives in New York now, just like I do.  He dug his phone from his pocket, queuing up the photo of the two of them hed taken at the Red Lantern Inn, and he passed it around.
What does she do? asked his sister Renée, who was pregnant with her second child.
Shes a lawyer.  Works for the prosecutors office.
We were supposed to meet her this weekend, but we couldnt go, what with Savannah being sick, Jerilyn elaborated.  Ro-bert, tell them how you met her.
Interested eyes were on Bobby.  He sighed.  We met in the elevator in my building.  She was visiting someone who lives on my floor.  Her shoe broke when she stepped out of the elevator and she fell into the hallway.  I helped fix up her knee.  He grinned at the memory.
Russ hooted.  Oh, yeah, hes got it bad!  Everyone else laughed, and Bobby joined in good-naturedly.
Later back at his parents house, Bobby tucked Savannah into bed and wandered back to the kitchen.  Jerilyn was putting together potato salad for Sundays dinner.  Bobby sank onto a stool at the counter and watched.
How are you feeling, bébé? his mother asked.  You looked so tired this morning.
Im good, maman.  His phone blipped indicating a text message.  Checking it quickly, he saw that it was Maggie.
Jerilyn smiled knowingly.  Is that your little girl?
Its Maggie, he said, smiling.
Whats going on there, cher? she asked softly.
Bobby sighed.  She makes me happy.  He looked up at his mother.  Shes pretty, obviously.  And shes smart and kind and funny and genuine  He trailed off.
Jerilyn crossed her arms.  Is she another one of those little girls looking for a rich, famous man?
He looked his mother squarely in the eye.  No, maman.  Maggie had no idea that Id played ball.  She couldnt care less about sports or money.  He laughed.  She gave me eight pounds of shit, I mean crap, he edited in response to her raised eyebrow, when I bought her an antique dresser last week.
Bobby gazed through the kitchen windows at the moonlight reflected on the marsh.  She sees me.  Not some has-been retired pitcher.  I know that we havent been going out very long but  He looked down at his hands before meeting her gaze.  I think Im in love with her.
A slow smile crept across his mothers face.  Youd better go give your little girl a call, then, bébé.

I cannot possibly fit in all the intricacies of the ballet world on a single cheat sheet, this is just some background information I thought would be useful for those that would like to understand the book better. Totally useless stuff, but you never know, it might prove handy one day. 
Here are some basics: 
・.・R A N K S ・.・
① PRINCIPAL DANCER
These are the rockstar, pop-icon Olympians of the ballet world. These dancers get main parts, think Odette in Swan Lake or Aurora in Sleeping Beauty. This is a highly coveted position, and only dancers with exceptional talent and drive make it to the rank of principal. They normally earn more money, have their own dressing rooms and perform the best roles, but they have to live up to their titles, and this puts an insane amount of pressure on them to deliver only the best ballet has to offer. Furthermore, it's very rare for dancers to make principal under the age of 25-30.
② SOLOIST
Soloist is the middle ground between the Corps and Principal. Soloists perform the solo roles in a ballet, which is usually the supporting characters (think Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet or Mercedes in Don Quixote). Some companies give their soloists principal roles on occasion to see how they perform, but mostly they will be understudies and only step in if a principal dancer gets injured. 
③ CORPS DE BALLET
These dancers form the 'body of the ballet' and act as a backdrop for the principals. They make up the majority of a company, and some dancers spend their whole career in the corps de ballet. Make no mistake, these dancers work very hard, sometimes portraying up to three characters in a single show. 
④ APPRENTICE
Apprentices are usually unpaid dancers who are testing out a company before they get hired (kind of like an internship). A lot of ballet students do this in their final year of schooling.
･ Many companies have additional ranks like coryphee , first artists or demi-soloists. This is just a general structure and inevitably it will vary from company to company. 
･ Prima Ballerinas:  the term prima ballerina has gone out of fashion in recent years, but used to refer to the top principal ballerina(s) in a company. 
・.・L E A D E R S H I P・.・
Ballet companies are usually companies, meaning they exist for profit and have a board and 'CEO', which would be called the Artistic Director. Furthermore, ballet companies employ full-time teachers and coaches that are called ballet masters and mistresses. 
① COMPANY DIRECTOR / ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
Quite literally the 'head' of a ballet company, this person is normally a decently famous retired dancer or choreographer. This is a very sought after position, and there's usually a lot of politics involved with this specific job, having to balance training dancers, staging productions, choreographing original pieces, handling promotions and managing the business side of things. 
② BALLET MASTERS / BALLET MISTRESSES
Ballet masters and mistresses are employed by a ballet company to uphold standards and professionalism amongst the dancers, as well as passing on traditions and their knowledge. They often teach the day to day classes and run rehearsals.
③ FURTHERMORE
There are plenty of other roles within a ballet company like physiotherapists, some companies have psychologists, wardrobe staff and orchestra members. 
・.・C A R E E R・.・
-: TRAINING :-
Most dancers start training at a very young age, with some children starting as early as 3. Usually, by 10 or 11 they would have decided to go professional. This is an incredibly tender age to make such adult decisions, but it is what is expected of children who dream of a career in ballet. On top of training full-time, dancers will still get an academic education as well. 
-: LIFE :-
After training in vocational ballet schools, most dancers will enter the audition process to try and get into a company. As I mentioned before, many dancers spend their entire career in the corps de ballet. For those trying to climb the hierarchy, some will make soloist (usually around age 25) and the very exceptional ones principal (very rarely under the age of 25). Ballet is a short career given how taxing it is on the body, and most dancers will retire from the stage in their mid-thirties and become choreographers or teachers. 
-: INJURIES :-
Unfortunately, most dancers will have at least one major injury somewhere in their career. This can range from overuse injuries, torn ligaments, stress fractures and even broken bones. In extreme cases, they can end a dancer's career.

11-12 pm || Classical Ballet Lesson or Company Class (This is to keep everyone's technique sharp and warm-up for the day ahead. At this point many dancers have already been in the gym.)
12-2 pm || Rehearsal or Stage Rehearsal (Here dancers rehearse repertoire for upcoming performances, often more than one ballet in an afternoon, and up to six weeks in advance.)
2-4 pm || Solo Rehearsals (for dancers that have them, or just normal rehearsals for the corps)
4-5 pm || Break
5-6 pm || Preparation for performance (this includes makeup, hair, costumes and warming up)
7-10 pm || Performances
11 pm || Most dancers only leave the theatre around 11 or 12. 
Dancers normally work six days a week, and 12-hour days are not uncommon. This makes it very hard to have a normal family life or even have relationships outside the company in general.

Preparations at Lake Miranda Lodge outside of Eliot Lake had shifted into high gear three days previously.  Jackie Walker had had to cancel the existing reservations for the next six weeks, finding alternative arrangements for her displaced guests.  The entire property was being booked to accommodate a VIP guest who would be paying three times what her regular guests would have paid, even had the entire place been booked.  Which it hadnt.

This, she gleefully informed her brother Blake, would allow her to take her two young children on their dream vacation to Disneyworld.  Of course, theyd also be spending time with Jackie and Blakes parents, whod run the lodge until they had retired to Florida three years earlier.

It would be up to Blake to see to their sole guest.  How much trouble could one guest be?  He could even see to some renovations and upgrades shed been wanting to do.

Blake, Jackie called from the reception desk as she heard the front door to the lodge open and close, have you signed the nondisclosure agreement yet?

She looked up to see her younger brother, a scowl marring what would have been a ruggedly handsome face with its dark, neatly trimmed beard.  Hed hastily pulled back his shoulder-length dark brown hair into a messy bun.  Why the hell do I have to sign some paper? he grouched.

Jackie raised a brown eyebrow and nodded toward her eight-year-old son who had just entered the reception area.  Uncle Blake said hell! Grant shouted.

Thanks, Uncle Blake!  Jackie rolled her eyes.

I mean, why the heck do I have to sign a paper? Blake edited.

Because its a requirement for this guest.  Shes famous, you know.  We cant let anybody know shes here.

I wont tell anybody, Grant promised.  Who is she, anyway?

Exactly!  Blake ruffled the boys light brown hair.  Who is she, anyway?

Shes the person making it possible for us to go to Disneyworld, thats who she is.  She looked to Blake.  Is the island cabin ready?

He nodded.  Fresh linens, pantry stocked, new propane tank in place.  Just like you asked, maam.  He smirked lovingly at his big sister.  She and her husband had taken over the lodge when the folks had retired.  And the shithead had left her and the kids about a year after that.

Blake hadnt thought twice about leaving his job as a wilderness counselor to come home and help Jackie with the place.  There was no way a single mom could run the twelve-cabin main property and lodge, plus the island cabin and three other remote properties by herself.  And he was helping her slowly expand the place, too, adding an additional three remote cabins accessible only by float plane.  Having Blake there as a pilot boosted the lodges appeal to hunters and fishermen, and they were on track to have a record year.  Which was one reason he hadnt fought her too hard about this VIP guest.

And he didnt begrudge Jackie in the least for taking a vacation.  He hadnt been sure shed known the meaning of the word.  It would do her and the kids a world of good to get away and enjoy themselves for a while.

Well, they should be here anytime.  Jackie glanced up at down at her brother.  Is that what youre wearing?

Blake looked down at his scuffed brown boots, torn jeans, red Henley, and open red and black checked flannel shirt.  Whats wrong with this?  Am I expected to dress for the princess?

A princess is coming?  Six-year old Emma had come in from outside.

No, stupid, Grant replied, rolling his eyes.  Shes just a lady.

But well see princesses at Disneyworld, right Uncle Blake?

Blake swept his niece up into his arms, causing her to erupt into giggles.  You are going to see all the princesses you can stand.

After nearly a month of searching, without a single sign of their enemy, the tensions around the Empire had gradually decreased. Nobody was foolish to believe it had been an isolated incident but, with more than half a year passing within the Projection, Vahn had other things to worry about than some unknown enemy. Circe had given birth to a second daughter, named Petra, and, in anticipation of an enemy attack, two groups of Heroic Spirits had been summoned.

While Vahn had used the summoning system to bolster the Empire's forces, one of the summonings was a test to see if the Greater Grail, completed by Illya, Iris, and Da Vinci, was functioning properly. Though it would take some time to make a wish using the tower-like golden chalice, summoning a group of Heroic Spirits wasn't that difficult. As a result, Sakura, Mash, Zoë, and Astrid had been given a chance to make a contract with a Heroic Spirit, Servants that would protect them from harm at all times.

Since the Heaven's Feel summoning system had a fair number of restrictions compared to his own, it was only capable of summoning one of each Servant Class. Fortunately, this didn't really matter in the grand scheme of things so, after a rather tense ceremony, Sakura ended up summoning a Rider Class Heroic Spirit known as Medusa. She was a rather buxom woman with a mature figure, long legs, a visored face, and silky purple hair that reached all the way to her ankles. 

The summoning of Medusa came as a small shock to Rin and Artoria but, since Sakura seemed to have a high affinity with the visored woman, the former only expressed her concerns in private. As for why they had been worried, it was due to the fact that Medusa was the same Heroic Spirit that Sakura had summoned during the Fifth Holy Grail War. Rin was slightly worried that Sakura would somehow recover her past memories but, with no memories to recover, Vahn managed to allay her concerns without issue.

Fortunately, the summons of Mash, Zoë, and Astrid didn't raise nearly as many concerns. Mash had 'won' the lottery by summoning the Saber Class, often considered the strongest of the Seven main Servant Classes. Better yet, the Heroic Spirit she summoned was Richard the First, a fanatic who had ceaselessly pursued relics related to Arthurian Legends. He also bore the title of Lionheart and, while he was a little quirky, his skill with the sword even allowed him to pressure Artoria. Though this was primarily due to his Agility, which could reach EX-Rank while using his [Godspeed] Skill, it was still a commendable feat.

After Mash, the next to summon their Servant had been Zoë, obtaining the Lancer Class Heroic Spirit, Vlad III, as her Servant. Though his legacy was cause for some concern, as he wasn't known as Vlad the Impaler without cause, the rather domineering man had a True Neutral affinity and, with Merlin attesting to his virtues, his summoning didn't cause any problems. Rather, in exchange for his service, the only thing he wanted was the abolishment of the Dracula legacy as it had painted him out to be a monster for no better reason than to sell books and slander his name.

Though it seemed like a moderately wasteful wish, Vahn didn't mind agreeing to Vlad's request as it wasn't that difficult to achieve. He couldn't use their first wish to grant the request but, once things had settled down, using the Holy Grail to erase the legacy of Dracula was a simple feat. At the very least, they could expose the truth of the matter so that, in the future, people didn't associate Vlad with the atrocities committed by a wayward Dead Apostle Ancestor...

Following Mash's and Zoë's examples of summoning rather famous individuals, Astrid ended up surprising nearly everyone by summoning the Archer Class Servant, Atalanta. This was surprising for a number of reasons but, considering Astrid's affinity for animals, and her general disinterest in men, it wasn't hard to see the parallels between her and the famous Huntress. 

What had surprised Vahn was the fact that, despite having human parents, no Divinity, and no Skills related to transformation, Atalanta had feline ears and a tail. Vahn felt like she was a Cat Person that had somehow made the transition between Records as, in conjunction with her feline attributes, she even had an exceptionally lithe body filled with flexible bones. This, combined with her wild unruly hair, which transitioned from leafy-green at her bangs, lime green starting from her scalp, and pale yellow, almost white, near the small of her back, gave her a distinctly 'inhuman' appearance...

When she had first been summoned, Atalanta hadn't bee all that enthused about her situation but, after experiencing the Memory Link with Astrid, she immediately became resolved to protect, not just her, but all the children. She was also familiar with Circe, Medea, Heracles, and even Medusa so, after mellowing out a bit, she became relatively docile, at least around Vahn. This was due to the fact that her wish was to protect all the world's children so, after learning Vahn had used his wish to the same effect, she no longer harbored any hatred towards him.

Fortunately, though she allowed him to pet her regularly, Atalanta took her vows towards Artemis and Apollo very seriously so, even though she was rather weak to petting, she hadn't developed any tender feelings toward him. Though she had 'jokingly' told him that she would marry him if he could beat her in a foot race, Vahn knew she would only do so out of obligation, not love. While he did, in fact, accept her challenge, this was mainly to prevent her from falling victim to her vow as it would cause a few issues if she was forced to marry someone she didn't love.

While Atalanta had been fast, almost ridiculously so, she wasn't even in the top five when it came to maximum potential speed within the Empire. Though Vahn's natural speed also didn't make the cut, he more than made up for it with [Shundo] and [Vis Maxima], allowing him to maintain a steady lead throughout their entire race. This had come as a shock to Atalanta but, as they had already agreed to allow him to make a singular request from her, Vahn surprised her a second time by having her vow never to marry someone she didn't love. Since he had already defeated her in a footrace, she had a complicated expression on her face but, after a moment of deliberation, ultimately relented...

With his enemies still laying low, Vahn had focused on increasing his strength far beyond his past capabilities. He was determined to reach the point where he would be able to defeat Scáthach in a direct battle as, after she lost an arm to an unseen enemy, it became clear that his current strength was lacking. Though he would undoubtedly win in a prolonged battle, especially with [Magia Erebea] and the support of various Tier 5 entities, Vahn wanted to reach the point where his individual power was all he needed to win. 

Fortunately, or perhaps not, he had been convinced by Scáthach to summon even more versions of her, so, now, instead of two Shishous, there were a total of seven. As a result, the Empire was safer than it had ever been but, in exchange, Vahn's training had truly become hellish. After all, even one Scáthach was a 'monster' so, now that there were seven unique versions of her, combined with the fact she could make clones of herself; Vahn started experiencing auditory and visual hallucinations of his Shishou whenever he was 'slacking' off...

Since Scáthach qualified for virtually every Servant Class, with the exceptions of Saver, Foreigner, and Moon Cancer, Vahn ended up summoning the Ruler, Assassin, Saber, Archer, and, in order better to protect the children, the Lily version. Fortunately, as she had a proper understanding of where his limits lay, Scáthach had the wherewithal to avoid 'teasing' him in her fourteen-year-old form. This meant he only had to deal with her other six forms during training as, more often than not, the Lily version of Scáthach was proactively watching over the children, putting his mind at ease.

The upside to Vahn's current situation was that the longer his enemies delayed appearing, the more powerful he, and the Empire as a whole, would become. It had only taken him four weeks inside the Projection to reach the bottom of the 'Well of Destruction' so, with an additional twenty-four weeks to focus on other challenges, he had managed to clear all the way to the ninth. As a result, most of his Parameters had reached the quantifiable limit and, given a few more months, Projection-time, he was confident in being able to obtain his second Divinity. All he needed was to continue focusing on breaking through his limits as, at his current rate of growth, even S-Rank Heroic Spirits wouldn't be able to last more than a few minutes against him...

Vahn was an atypical youth. Due to a rare mutation, his blood had the potential to target and attack ailments within the human body. Touted as a universal cure, people had elevated his status above the norm and given him the classification "Panacea". In the media, he was hailed as a great hero who would usher in a new era or human wellness. However, behind the scenes things weren't so bright. Being a unique individual, Vahn spent his entire youth locked up in a lab with various scientists and research teams using his body and blood to perform endless amounts of experiments. The only solace in his suffering was the various anime and manga made available to him between experiments. He often imagined himself as the protagonist in a world of his own, finally in control of his own destiny. For years he nurtured this desire, until at the age of 14 he died when an organization had tried to kidnap him from the lab...
