III. THE CHIEF GOAL FOR UTILITARIANS SHOULD BE TO REDUCE EXISTENTIAL RISK
In light of the above discussion, it may seem as if a utilitarian ought to focus her efforts on accelerating technological development. The payoff from even a very slight success in this endeavor is so enormous that it dwarfs that of almost any other activity. We appear to have a utilitarian argument for the greatest possible urgency of technological development.
However, the true lesson is a different one. If what we are concerned with is (something like) maximizing the expected number of worthwhile lives that we will create, then in addition to the opportunity cost of delayed colonization, we have to take into account the risk of failure to colonize at all. We might fall victim to an existential risk, one where an adverse outcome would either annihilate Earth-originating intelligent life or permanently and drastically curtail its potential. Because the lifespan of galaxies is measured in billions of years, whereas the time-scale of any delays that we could realistically affect would rather be measured in years or decades, the consideration of risk trumps the consideration of opportunity cost. For example, a single percentage point of reduction of existential risks would be worth (from a utilitarian expected utility point-of-view) a delay of over 10 million years.
Therefore, if our actions have even the slightest effect on the probability of eventual colonization, this will outweigh their effect on when colonization takes place. For standard utilitarians, priority number one, two, three and four should consequently be to reduce existential risk. The utilitarian imperative "Maximize expected aggregate utility!" can be simplified to the maxim "Minimize existential risk!".

IV. IMPLICATIONS FOR AGGREGATIVE PERSON-AFFECTING VIEWS
The argument above presupposes that our concern is to maximize the total amount of well-being. Suppose instead that we adopt a "person-affecting" version of utilitarianism, according to which our obligations are primarily towards currently existing persons and to those persons that will come to exist. On such a person-affecting view, human extinction would be bad only because it makes past or ongoing lives worse, not because it constitutes a loss of potential worthwhile lives. What ought someone who embraces this doctrine do? Should he emphasize speed or safety, or something else?
To answer this, we need to consider some further matters. Suppose one thinks that the probability is negligible that any existing person will survive long enough to get to use a significant portion of the accessible astronomical resources, which, as described in opening section of this paper, are gradually going to waste. Then one's reason for minimizing existential risk is that sudden extinction would off cut an average of, say, 40 years from each of the current (six billion or so) human lives. While this would certainly be a large disaster, it is in the same big ballpark as other ongoing human tragedies, such as world poverty, hunger and disease. On this assumption, then, a person-affecting utilitarian should regard reducing existential risk as a very important but not completely dominating concern. There would in this case be no easy answer to what he ought to do. Where he ought to focus his efforts would depend on detailed calculations about which area of philanthropic activity he would happen to be best placed to make a contribution to.

Sometimes, life gives him existential crises. Other times, it drowns him in paint and toxic fumes only for him to wake up in a hospital of a fictional world. Then he realizes he'd somehow hijacked the body of a canon character who got killed by Sakura and shit just got real. All he wanted to do was finish the final project of his art major. Sasori did not sign up for this insanity.

Chapter 1

I own my idea, not Naruto.

He supposes that there were better ways to go, because honestly, how many people would die via drowning in paint?
Apparently, he does.
In his defense, he was extremely sleep deprived and procrastinating heavily on an art project that he needed to turn in the very next day. This project also coincidentally had his entire art major hinging off of it.
It was also three in the morning.
There was never a time that he cursed his fatal procrastination issues. Especially since his procrastination issues turned out to be literally fatal.
Funny how that worked out, huh?
The combination of toxic fumes from the various open paint cans and him being literally dead on his feet caused him to pass out into one of those various cans of paint he had lying next to the canvas. That was apparently enough to kill him. Well, he's assuming that he's dead since the last thing he remembers is the paint filling his screaming lungs. He feels that his chances of survival from that incident are pretty low. It's not as if anyone will check on him for the next few hours.
Now, all he can see is….blaring orange? What?
His knee jerk reaction is to move and open his eyes, to his overwhelming surprise, he's capable of doing both.
'I thought I was dead? Well, hey, I'm not going to complain. Now all I need to do is just convince the hospital staff to let me leave so I can finish my—'
"He's awake!"
He jerks his head towards the sudden sound, concern blossoming immediately because the person who spoke looks like they walked straight out of some sort of live action version of Naruto.
The Suna hitai ate kinda gave it away. He's got to give them credit though, the costume is really well done and the scars even look real—Oh dear God, they are real. Well, they must be extremely dedicated? He just wants to know why they're in the same room as him and where the nurses are so he can check out.
Or he's delusional.
Yeah, that sounds about right, he's still high off of the fumes.
"Sasori?"
The new voice caused him to turn away from the eccentric "actor" only for him to be faced with someone he could only call the living clone of Chiyo.
'Wow, I want to see this movie when it comes out, they have really good actors. Kudos to the director. That and it's high time I got back to binge-watching Naruto...just...after I finish my project.'
Seeing that the situation is getting interesting he decides to wait, he has a viable excuse for turning in his project late...the professor likes him, that should count for something, right? Right?! He really hopes that he doesn't have to retake the entire course, that would suck. Big time.
Four years down the drain.
Besides, she said Sasori and he wants to see what the actor for them looks like.
"Sasori, are you alright?"
Suddenly, the situation doesn't seem so amusing anymore, because the Chiyo look-alike is looking directly at him when she said that.
For the first time since he woke up, he realizes that something is horribly, horribly wrong. The fuzziness in his head clears as panic and adrenaline sets in because something isn't right and it's him. Looking down, he sees small childish fingers clutching the hospital issued blankets tight enough for the knuckles to turn white. These are not his fingers, these are not the fingers of an art major college student. His hands are supposed to be calloused, slightly cracked, his nails are supposed to be chipped from the pottery wheel—where are the paint stains? His hands for the past two years had been permanently stained with paint.
His beloved paint, what about his paintings?
Calm down. Stop. Hyperventilating.
Breathe in.
Out.
In.
Hold.
Count to ten.
Exhale.
Wait, that's not right...no, don't think about that.
He focuses on his breathing, vaguely aware that the Chiyo actress rushes toward him in alarm while the other actor in the room hurries out of the room calling for a nurse.
Finally unable to take it anymore, he pushes his way out of the unwanted embrace, stumbling onto the cold sterile floors.
Oh, the pattern is nice, it's a variation of windmill combined with a basket weave.
He barely registers that he doesn't have any shoes on, just that he is much, much shorter than he is supposed to be.
Somehow, he manages to choke his next words out, voice soft and small and—and so very alien,
"Ba-bathroom?"
Chiyo's—he realizes that this is no longer a show, but if he is right then-then he's...he doesn't want to finish that thought—concern lessens somewhat as she gets off of the hospital bed, gesturing for him to follow.
He follows her, ignoring her concerned glances back at him
They reach the bathroom without much fanfare, he goes in, opening the door mind still in an uproar. Seeing the mirror hanging above a sink, he makes a beeline for it.
Gazing back at him are hazel eyes, messy red hair, and a face that is most certainly not his. He used to be one of those people whose face no one ever remembers, average and plain.
But this one, this one certainly won the genetic lottery because there is no way eyes are supposed to be able to be that large, nevermind that they're half closed.
Huh, how large can they get if he opens them all the way?
Ooooh, bad idea, he looks unhinged.
Slapping his cheeks in an attempt to snap himself out of his tangent, he breathes out a sigh.
'I am so, so dead.'
Because if he's right—he's pretty sure he's right—then he somehow became an anime character of all things and one that gets killed off to boot. Even if he does get killed off somewhere in his midlife crisis, there is no way the 'Must-become-a-puppet-because-dear-lord-my-face-just-spawned-a-wrinkle' phase is not a mid-life crisis.
'Am I dissing myself? Wait, technically we are different people right? Canon? Oh no, CANON!'
He's coping surprisingly well, the new chibi face might have something to do with it.
'But I don't wanna die again, besides, stabbed to death by puppets is super melodramatic…'
As he is pondering—gushing, he's gushing—his new face and identity, Chiyo knocks on the door,
"Sasori, are you alright?"
Well...he forgot that his new grandmother existed, a prime example of what not to do when you wake up in someone else's body. Especially if you wake up an Uchiha, because you never know, the massacre might be just around the corner. Which is why he is eternally glad that his character only has one family member left and no parents, it'll be significantly easier to adapt. Parents will know immediately that something is wrong, but from what he remembers of the anime, Chiyo never really knew much about her grandson, or maybe she was just being distant?
Wait, are his parents still alive at this point?
When did Sasori's parents become his? He has perfectly functioning ones. Oh wait, maybe when he woke up in someone else's body. 
He shoos those thoughts into a filing cabinet in his mind, he'll ponder them later, because he suspects if he takes too long to answer his grandma will literally break down the bathroom door. After walking towards the door and turning the knob, he hesitantly opens it, peering up at the elderly woman.
What comes out of his mouth next is entirely unintentional,
"I forbid you to murder me, Grandma."
Inwardly he's freaking out because that was not what he meant to say, he keeps his face carefully blank as Chiyo's features flash through a multitude of emotions—confusion, horror, sorrow, and funnily enough, exasperation.
He wonders if such statements coming from the previous Sasori were normal occurrences.
"Sasori, where did you get that idea?"
He pauses, tilting his head in thought, it's not as if he can just say, "Yeah, I'm not actually your grandson but I do know that you kill him in the future with puppets of his mother and father because karma is like that," because that will go over so well.
He settles for,
"Because I might make you mad with what I'm going to say next?"
Chiyo, smiles at him, joints creaking while crouching down so that he's eye level,
"I promise not to be mad."
He lets go of the door, and looks down at his chubby fingers, bringing them together in what he hopes looks like hesitancy and guilt.
Actually no, to hell with it, he's done with life right now,
"I seem to have developed a fascinating case of amnesia. Though I would be more enthused if only it weren't so inconvenient."
He turns his head back up just in time to watch horror and even more sorrow war their way across her face.
"You don't...remember?"
He shakes his head.
They stand there in silence while his statement sinks in.
"You don't remember anything? Anything at all?"
He shuffles his feet a little, fidgeting under her hopeful gaze because now is the moment guilt sets in,
"...no."
She looks like her world just shattered and he winces internally.
'It's better this way, at least I probably won't be betraying and leaving the village. There is no way anyone is going to make me touch Akatsuki with a forty-two million feet pole.'
"Ah...I see," Chiyo doesn't look like she's seeing much of anything, staring blankly off into space, "Come, I'll get check you out of the hospital and we'll go home."
She stands up, still trancelike, and walks down the hall, this time not bothering to see if he's following. Chiyo doesn't appear to be computing anything, hopefully, she wouldn't be so negligent normally? He scrambles after her, hastily shutting the bathroom door behind him and slipping his small hand into her loose ones. Chiyo snaps out of her shock, turning her head down towards him in askance,
"If you fill me in, perhaps I'll remember?"
Her eyes widen a little before softening, she gives him a shaky smile,
"Of course."
Ugh, now he feels worse than dirt for leading her on like that because there's no way he'll remember something that didn't even happen to him. And everything he's done up to this point has only been centered around him, with barely any consideration for his grandmother.
He remembers reading something about Sasori somewhere online, 'Why become a criminal and disappoint your grandma when you could have been an awful babysitter?'
'I just hope I don't actually get stuck with the Sand sibs, that would be a whole 'nother level of chaos.'

So I had a plan...a perfectly good one, one that includes focusing on the few fics I have.
And then this happened.
Do I regret it? No.
Will I ask myself why later? Definitely.
Do I know where this is going? Ask me a few years later and I might have an answer.

Inspired by 'My Self-Insert Stash '.

After getting all of that done, he decided to split all characters into 'factions' that will persist throughout the story. This way, he could keep track on what group of characters are doing what.

Considering this was a story about 'death', might as well give it the theme about overcoming yourself. When a hero continuously faces insurmountable odds, it becomes the tale about staying strong even when the odds are stacked against you. He loved those kind of characters who never give up. Those with a rigid personality.

But before going into the complex stuff, he first decided to visualise the story within his head.

Since outside in this world is literally 'Dead Lands' everywhere, with even out of space not being safe for travel, he decided to place the main character within the bounds of the 'Aries Colony', making him relatable by first putting forth ordinary traits.

Since this colony had a distinct Japanese vibe, he decided to make it so everyone wore eastern clothing in this place. Now, was to think of what these people would consider to be 'normal'.

Since outside equals death and dead people equals monsters that cause death, there needed to be a way for there to be some sort of 'order' in this society whether it was morally wrong or correct.

He could leave the place as 'ordinary' if he wanted to, but mundane things weren't exciting for him.

So in the end: He chose to write a Medicine Journey out of the colony to 'cure' the world.

Unlike the Hero's Journey which was a template for writing a specific breed of heroic protagonists, he chose to do a Medicine Journey like that of Journey To The West to give him creative freedom.

There were three stages of the Medicine Journey:
1. A problem exists which our ordinary understanding of the world cannot solve.
2. The protagonist must travel elsewhere to find the solution and search for the answers himself
3. He returns back with the solution in hand. (The reason this is called the 'Medicine' Journey.)

The 'ordinary understanding of the world' needed to accept magic and be kinda dark, but not edgy to the point that the readers will be cut by it. There needed to be a balance between light and dark.

Therefore, he decided to add a plot device that would serve as an explanation to why people aren't scared their old parents will turn into Dark Muse upon death as well as why they aren't dead yet.

In the Magic System of his previous story, he had already established a system where the 'life' of a human was split into four parts. This being: Soul, Heart, Mind, and Flesh. In that order from what is considered ethereal and what isn't touchable.

The 'Four Fundamental Internal Forces' was his own take on spiritual concepts which was different from the 'Spirit, Mind, and Body' variant where they depict the Anatomy of the Soul. Rather than constraining his system to normal limits, he decided to split the aspects of a person's existence and acknowledge that the soul wasn't the only part of the person that mattered in the story.

To explain this concept, it is better to talk about what is considered 'Life Energy' in the story first.

It is what it sounds like: The energy and life force all humans need to be 'living'. Without it, the body would fall apart just like a house with nothing holding together the bricks that lay its foundation.

Among all the energies, Life Energy was the most important. It is what exists in a person before the so-called 'Four Fundamental Internal Forces'. The normal people of Earth before the apocalypse happened didn't even need the latter at first.

Using the events of the previous story as his stepping stone, he noted down a few things:

{Qi Centre- Android Realm/ Gifts, Spirit Guise}

As those with 'Gifts' and those who can use Imaginative Spirits are the only people who can manipulate 'Life Energy', it was important to establish this power early on in the story.

As for why he added the word 'Realm', it could be explained later when it had more relevance.

Taking inspiration from both eastern and western concepts, he made it so Life Energy (Qi) would also be incorporated into technology. This way, it could explain why Dark Muses hadn't attacked them yet.

By putting 'Nether Qi' (what Hunters use through forged Nethersteel Weapons) and 'Life Qi' (what is used for technology) on opposing sides, he could explain why there's a dissonance in the tools humanity uses in the future. A very craft idea.

By making Dark Muses those forgotten or downright disturbing Imaginative Spirits as those brought forth using Nether Qi before feeding off and digesting Life Qi, he gave them a motive.

And by adding the apology of how too much Life Qi can kill them but they can devour Life Qi they have personally 'digested', he made it possible to explain why they are scared of 'Qi Technology' but not humans with Qi (Life Energy) within their bodies.

It's like saying that Dark Muses like 'sweets' but can turn ill if it's in too high concentrations.

The reason he added the words 'Android Realm' was because he wanted a world where robots could have Life Energy as well, which blurred the lines between what is 'authentic life' and fake.

It was to the point that he added a tale that was unable to fit in his previous story about an Android built by a great Internal Martial Artist as well as Engineer who died in a tragic tale of love.

The story of the Mag-E Project, AKA the Android named Maggie Smith, the 'Perfect Aphrodite' (A reference to a Greek Goddess), and successful creation of an important character of his previous story, Trisha Smith. It was a long story...

But to put it bluntly, in the martial arts 'family' of his previous main character was a relative called Rex Nocturne who was promptly Isekai'd into another world as a teen, but his departure left the Android his main character's mother made for Rex stay on Earth, sinking deep into existential despair.

She was created as an Android that was perfectly suited for any Male, and acted as such. When the events of his previous story made the Secret Martial Arts Society of Earth in his previous work disband, he was secretly thinking of writing a short story about how she revitalised this secret society using her charms and wit before he left her.

Stuck with the present she was going to gift to her beloved 'owner' before he left her, she accidentally became Queen of the Martial World. Now that he ended that story with a 'connection' forming between that Other World her owner had allowed himself to be summoned to, he could now give her more characterisation or even make her the Final Obstacle, who they had to defeat to end the story.

He remembered a few myths and noted down, the myths regarding Aphrodite's origins came to mind.

It was of the Mesopotamian Goddess, Ishtar:

{Ishtar/Inanna- Goddess of Love, Sex, War, Beauty, Political Power, Desire, Combat, Justice/ Becomes Queen of Heaven after taking in the House of Heavens as part of her domain, also known as the Temple of Eanna. Her father, the Supreme God Anu, who represented the universe itself in Mesopotamian religion, allowed her to become the Mistress of Heaven and patron Goddess to Uruk.}

The names alternated from Queen to Mistress of Heaven depending on translation. He wasn't sure how accurate this was, but what he was writing was essentially fan-fiction anyway. It didn't have to be factually right as long as he got the key points.

{She once sent the Bull of Heaven to fight for her after her proposal to Demigod, Gilgamesh, failed.

There was a shift in worship from Anu to Ishtar as she become the central figure of the religion.

Stole seven artefacts from the God of human culture (Ea) which governed over: Truth, Victory, Law, Kingship, Writing, Weaving, etc. Before giving them to a nation called Uruk (Mesopotamian City).

Ishtar's visit to see her husband (who she loved) ends badly and Erishgikal traps her. Ea saves her.

Enki, also known Ea, a God of fresh water and wisdom, creates Asushunamia (Lady Killer, Gender Binary, Cursed to be an outcast by Ereshgikal, Gift of Healing and Prophesy given by Ishtar.)}

The notes he wrote afterwards were based on the poems and legends she partook in. In her tale that with the Mesopotamian King of Uruk, she was a spiteful instigator that caused Gilgamesh to lose a dear friend. As for her journey into the Mesopotamian Underworld known as Kur, she was only able to escape with Asushunamia's help.

Without him, she would be stuck there forever. He also wasn't sure if she made him her lover or not.

Anyway, Ishtar was probably the original version of Aphrodite before people altered her and split her apart into the things they wanted to worship separately in Rome. Who was then split further since different regions had different cultures.

The Roman Empire even having a habit of mixing together religious figures for the sake of saying that they were the same and absolutely not plagiarised whatsoever. This made it harder to tell right from wrong in a lot of myths from there.

What was a happy coincidence was that she also had a sister, Ereshgikal, who had a high affinity in his story since she ruled over the Underworld and was sometimes confused with Persephone.

Now he had a lot of ways to draw connections~

Then he moved onto what she had been transformed into sometime after when certain things she ruled over became popular. They then formed together into a new Goddess worshipped by a cult who really, really liked these things.

[Astarte- Goddess of Fertility, Sex, War, Venus}

This was the new name she got before she came to Greece and became a member of the Greek Pantheon of dudes who had way too much free time and fickle woman who screwed people over.

And from there she turned into:

{Aphrodite- Goddess of love, beauty, pleasure, passion and procreation/ Created a lot of chaos}

It was funny how everything turned full circle and finally arrived to the monicker of the Android he was thinking of writing about. It was then he had realised a problem occurred as he realised that if he gave her Aphrodite's Spirit Guise, he would also have to give her several more Spirit Guises that would relate to Ishtar and Astarte. This would essentially make her too overpowered as a fighter.

The only option he could come up with was split the characters to fit into their respective orders.

He looked around on the Internet to find anything that could be used to help, and found inspiration:

{Derived Goddesses with the Aphrodite name:
Areia ver. Victorious Conflicts (Politics/War)
Urania ver. Celestial Love (Pure/Spiritual)
Pandemos ver. Carnal Love (Taboo/Bodily)
Venus Genetrix ver. Fertility (Motherhood)}

These were the four Goddesses that had been derived from Aphrodite and even had her name.

Since the Android he named Maggie Smith (A play on the 'Mag-E Project' name and inherited her surname from her Creator) wasn't Human yet had Life Energy (Qi), now he could split up her power.

{Ishtar was the Imaginative Spirit she used in her prime when she was lording over the Martial World.

After experiencing tragic heartbreak, she split her powers into 4 Androids based on Internal Forces.

Their names are Moxie (Soul), Beatrice (Heart), Pure (Mind), and Helen (Flesh). All of them are not self-aware like Maggie Smith but they contain aspects of her personality and are part of her.

After losing her will to live, she 'starts over' by reaching the limits of the Power System she herself created and in the end: Was able to birth a child despite having no partner or embryo inside her.}

The last part was pretty funky but wasn't exactly as bad as it sounded. To explain what was the difference between a normal human having a child and HER having one, it needed to be elaborated that she was a creation of a human being.

Since she wasn't a Human herself and couldn't nurture her own skills and techniques like someone who could grow older with age, her abilities and skills were based off the person who created her.

The reason he called her a 'Demigod' was because to him, this character had already reached limits beyond what a 'mere' Android could achieve. She was the only existence of his story that started with nothing and also ended up with nothing...

She was a tragic existence who only served the purpose of evoking sympathy, the perfect material for a Final Boss! Her Qi Centre was also out of this world as he even gave it a different name.

(God Matrix- Yin, Death, Moon, Evil (7 Deadly Sins), Sun, Holy (4 Imperial Virtues), Yang, Wood}

The 'God Matrix' was what held her Life Energy which kept her existence stable. As for the Attributes he wrote after it, they were the key powers that Trisha 'installed' into Maggie.

Though the results weren't as strong as giving her control over these Attributes. Instead, they served as cornerstone to help her maintain Maggie's body which was made from a nanotechnology which wove millions of 'mechanical cells' into one body.

He created Maggie to be Trisha's masterpiece that perfectly utilised technology to create a robot which was a remarkable counterfeit of a human being. Thus, why she was called an 'Android' rather than a Cyborg with living humanoid body parts.

The skills passed onto her were as follows. As they were carved into Maggie's body upon creation:

{Soul Skill- Charming Spirit
Heart Skill- Tempting Allure
Mind Skill- Mental Seizing
Physique Skill- Pheromone Sweat}

These four skills were based off Trisha's own techniques as an Internal Martial Artist, but it would be weird if she could use these abilities without drawback even if they were non-combative in nature. That's why he gave her more 'support'.

The Four Fundamental Internal Forces had their own 'sources' that needed to be formed by a Qi Centre. Without it, they wouldn't be able to utilise these energies whatsoever. The same could be said for Life Energy if their Qi Centre was broken.

The 'Ki Meridians' all over the body were used to strengthen the flesh, 'Psion Circuits' in the brain were used to improve calculations, 'Aura Gates' could be used by talented figures to express their emotions, and 'Chakra Roots' expelled spiritual energy that could be moulded into very familiar attacks. These were considered 'Lower Forces'.

Above these Lower Internal Bodily Forces were the great 'Higher Forces' that contained Life Energy (Qi) rather than just being a derivative of it. They were normally catalysts for great techniques that those at the Grandmaster level could utilise.

The Spirit Root, Glyph Gate, Cyber Circuit, and Power Meridians, were what they were called.

Going back to her Attributes, the reason he made Trisha implant the Yin, Evil, Holy, and Yang Attributes into Maggie was because they also held great narrative importance to the Magic System.

Unlike the other Attributes, these four originated from the human body before becoming an Attribute, thus they were able to 'complete' her masterpiece, helping it keep itself stable.

She incorporated counterfeit Higher Forces made from her own personal technological advances and turned them into 'Skills' that would help give Maggie her own self-awareness.

The ominous 'Conceived Soul' was from her own womb, the 'Emotional Heart' was pieced together using her Aura, the 'Clear Mind' was created from an Artificial Intelligence, and the 'Nurtured Body' was from allowing a fetus created from 'mechanical cells' grow into a body Maggie could use. He made Trisha pour blood and sweat into creating her.

Normally, this would be the end of her limited array of abilities, but through her own ingenuity, she was able to create her own Power System similar for how Humans always did on Earth in his universe.

Since Life Energy itself didn't have to be confined by universal laws, he made it so only the people using this energy had to put restrictions on it in order to 'Rank Up' into more powerful existences.

With Skills based off Lower Forces and Higher Forces, she already had the strength of a Grandmaster Martial Artist. That's why he allowed her to gain two more Ranks based on preference.

He had already established 'Avatars' (Entities that were like ethereal ghosts that stood by the user like a Stand) as something Internal Martial Artists gained in his previous story. Therefore, he added the other Attributes into a Macguffin that the protagonists will need to find in the Medicine Journey in order to fix the Nightmarish World.

As Maggie had an artificial 'Death Attribute' installed into her before it was broken, allowing them to attain this would allow them to walk a step closer towards saving the world. He hadn't decided why it was relevant but it was enough for now. 

Since he already decided Androids would be inhuman entities based off of Humans, why not add other creatures into the mix? He wasn't even sure if he'd add them to the story but at least he'd widen the world in case he wanted to add them.

What they were didn't need much explaining, the only thing that was important was that he created new beings who could act as 'aliens' in this Magic-Science-Fiction-esque sequel of his. Then he decided to separate the others as 'Keys' the main characters needed to find before they could get the 'Skill Avatar- Perfected Goddess'.

Maybe even make them the rulers of the new species that were created by him at that moment.

The first two skills of every one of these Androids beings advanced versions of Lower Force techniques and the latter two were straight up powers from the Attribute that they grow into. 

The Higher Forces for each of them was just an advanced version of whatever 'source' their power originated from just like how Qi Centre became God Matrix in Maggie's hands after installation. All of them possessing the capabilities to drain.

Next, was to move on to how the mythologies already present would take form in her 'daughter'.

The story is the third entry in the trilogy of Battlefield Restart but is being written as the direct sequel instead. The events of Battlefield Restart 2- An Adventure Beyond Greatness, are contained so there isn’t much to be missed by skipping it.

This novel is about an Author being sent into the nightmarish world he writes due to his destiny. The main character of BR 2 appears but isn’t focused on much, as this is about the Omniscient Writer’s story.

Vol. 0 is skippable and isn’t essential to the story as a whole. Only something there for extra info.

During endless space, there were 22 figures, 21 of them were squirming in immeasurable pain!
 
 "LUCIUS! PLEASE!!! MERCY!!!!" - Rainali covered with black veins roared miserably in pain.
 
 The other Supremes did the same, all begged for mercy or that Lucius would simply kill them, but Lucius would not kill them so easily, he would make them suffer so much in the same way he suffered from her loss.
 
 "Do you feel that? It's nowhere near what I felt when you despicable beings used poison to murder me, but you ended up killing her!" - Said Lucius cruelly the murderous intention increasing every instant.
 
 "IT WASN'T US! WE DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT IT!" - Rainali cried while begging.
 
 "Weren't you? HAHAHAHAHAAHA! DON'T MAKE ME LAUGH! I ALREADY MET THE TRAITOR WHO TRIED TO POISON ME, I'VE READ ALL HIS MEMORIES AND DISCOVERED EVERYTHING!!!!" - Lucius roared madly as he looked at the 21 Supreme Ones.
 
 "I DO NOT KNOW…" - Rainali roared lamentably as tears of blood flowed down his beautiful face, but it is not as if words were going to change Lucius' angry mind.
 
 Smiling cruelly Lucius said. - How about we increase your sensitivity a little? - "As he finished his words, Lucius waved his fingers and illusory hands appeared around the bodies of the Supremes, pressing down on certain parts of their bodies and the next instant, their roars became even louder."
 
 "Wait here while I finish some business." - Said Lucius cruelly as he disappeared from everyone's sight, they knew very well what Lucius would do.
 
 "NO! PLEASE!!" - Rainali roared desperately what echoed throughout the Universe and Lucius heard, but he didn't listen.
 
 In the next instant, explosions began to echo, everyone saw with their visions of Universal Gods, that entire Universes were being annihilated, countless living beings were dying in a matter of moments.
 
 All 21 Supremes felt an immeasurable fury taking over their hearts, along with immense regret and soon they began to cough up blood uncontrollably, they quickly fell from a Universal God to a Nebulous God.
 
 And then Lucius came back and saw it happen, he saw that the pain that all Supremes felt had intensified to the point that none of them was able to utter a word.
 
 "All your universes and universal cores are destroyed, how do you feel having everything taken away from you? I felt the same when I held her cold corpse in my arms." - Said Lucius satisfied with what he did.
 
 "But now I think it is the end…" - Said Lucius as he lowered his shoulders slightly, his gaze becoming extremely cruel and discouraged. - You took everything away from me and now I've done the same to you. - A cruel and bitter smile appeared on Lucius' lips.
 
 Soon Lucius raised his hands and slowly the 21 Supremes began to disintegrate, but it was at an extremely slow speed, the pain you felt had already driven you mad.

 Suddenly a roar echoed and soon the 21 Supremes in immense agony, breathed for last, dying with a somewhat relaxed expression on their faces.

 Looking indifferently at the mass of light Lucius says. - "I don't care about anything anymore, I lost everything I had, my beloved perished in my place, my colleagues…" - Suddenly Lucius stopped and looked at three of the corpses of the Supremes. - They abandoned me... my servants killed by a traitor, who was also my most loyal servant, I don't care about anything anymore, if you came to end my life, I would more than thankful. - "Said Lucius discouraged and without strength."
 
 A little pity could be felt from the mass of light and soon the voice continued.
 
 [I understand, when I was a Mortal before I became an Entity, I lost many loved ones, I understand you perfectly, not to mention the influence that the Realm of God of the Cosmos had on your mind. But I have to admire you, you have managed to resist the complete madness that this Realm brings to those who reach it and you have kept in touch with me, as expected of the youngest Universal God of all our Existential Plan, but it is a shame... this District without an Entity has become nothing but wreckage…]

 Repentance was visible in the tone of the Entity, clearly saddened by the loss of resources and lost lives.
 
 Lucius said nothing and just looked vaguely around, from a mere mortal to power with the ability to destroy entire universes with a wave of hands.
 
 "I walked a lot…" - Said Lucius melancholy as he remembered everything that happened in his past, he is now only 350,000 years old, which for a Universal God would be considered a 3-year-old child.
 
 A Universal God can easily live a few hundred million years, but in just 350,000 years, Lucius was from a mere slave from a tiny planet, which could even be disregarded as a planet, to a God of the Cosmos, an existence that is only below the Entities.
 
 [You've walked a lot.]
 
 Said the Entity slowly, she had already read the whole mind of Lucius, understanding everything he had experienced in those 350,000 years, from the loss of his beloved family, becoming the slave of a nobleman and being abused for years, to the age of 13 being analyzed by a Transcendent who said that he had a little talent.
 
 Bought by this Transcendent, Lucius a mere slave reached a new social state, the nobleman who once abused him died at his hands in the worst possible way and since then Lucius has become the nightmare of any arrogant and degenerate nobleman.
 
 At fifteen, Lucius, dissatisfied with his cultivation talent, used his superior wisdom to create a technique called [Boundary Breaking], a Cultivation Technique that aims to increase the body's talent to the limit that an Existential Plan would be able to withstand and then overcome it!
 
 But then a problem arose [Boundary Breaking] could only be cultivated by people under the age of 18, and there was no further benefit.
 
 In the end, Lucius trained up to the 6th Layer in only 3 years, but it was enough to make him reach the Realm of God of the Cosmos and not go crazy like many others in the past, which is why everyone feared him.
 
 Besides being one of the most powerful existences of the 23 Universes of that District, if not the most powerful in terms of individual power, he was ambitious and longed for more, so the [Art of the Endless Cosmos] fell into his hands, a banned Cultivation Technique that only Universal Gods can cultivate, but let's say that only 1 in 1,000,000 of Universal Gods, would be able to cultivate such Cultivation Technique.

 The Entity said nothing, but soon the mass of light that was his body began to change and then took the form of charming beauty, radiating a warm and welcoming aura.
 
 [I long ago abandoned my name and became the {Idea} Benevolence, even if killing is not something I like to do, I feel I must kill you for your good and that of the souls you have taken away. That's why Lucius, I forgive you and put you out of your misery!]

This is the story of the one who one day reached the pinnacle, a level that few dared to step on, but in the process lost everything that was most important to him!

Taken by the loss, he destroys everything and everyone, surrendering himself to madness, but when the revenge is done, what is left? Nothing!

In the midst of the void, he begs for someone to grant him death, and when it is to be granted, a flash of light appears and.... everything begins again!

In every single one of us there is a void that can never be filled.

A part of us that yearns for a complete and definitive understanding of the life that engulfs us.

An omniscient end point in the pursuit of knowledge.

At any moment, a new scientific discovery or technological advancement could occur and cause our current conception of reality to crumble.

And after that, it will just as likely happen again and again into eternity.

Every answer comes with a new question.

Every step forward illuminates more of a trail with no destination in sight.

We posses a level of intelligence that seemingly never meets the needs if the reality that precedes it.

We are conscious enough to perceive the world and add two and two together.

We are conscious enough to ask questions based on our perceptions and logical summations.

But we are not conscious enough to create and sustain conclusive overarching answers from it all.

Our most meaningful questions can only be speculated.

Questions like where we came from.

Why we are here.

Where we are going.

And what is the point of it all?

The simple fact is, we currently have no way of finding answers to these questions.

Perhaps these answers do not even exist in conclusive form.

Or perhaps humans are not built with the purpose to ever find them.

When reflecting on our inability to conclusively answer our most basic existential questions over the last several hundred thousand years of human existence, it begins to feel hopeless.

And it is our continuing ignorance of reality that creates the void that we can never quite fill.

It is why we chase habitual distractions and temporary pleasures in life.

Why we all sometimes feel lost, sad, and helpless.

Because what is the point of living without answers as to why we live at all?

And furthermore, what is the point of living without any real prospect for these answers?

But arguably, not having all of the answers is one of the greatest reasons to live.

As humans, we operate from a system of duality that cares about logic and understanding as well as emotion and feeling.

Our purpose and enjoyment of life is not bound exclusively to a finite endpoint of the pursuit of knowledge.

An endpoint to our questioning and revelations about reality would be an end to our humanity.

It is the perpetual game of cat and mouse that we play with reality that stimulates vigor in life.

Without it, what would there be to strive for?

What would there be to feel emotion over?

The part of human life that is so profoundly interesting would cease without it.

We should not live with existential angst and a constant chip on our shoulder because we do not and cannot possess definitive answers to all of our questions.

Instead, we should live with the excitement and wonder that comes from the fact that because of this, we will always possess the potential for new discoveries and new worlds of life.

We will always be able to create theories and meaning and experience the awe of their realizations.

It is deeply human to strive for answers and to move towards new understandings and explanations.

To fantasize about the singularity between humanity and the reality in which it resides.

To visualize an end point of intelligence and become synchronized with absolute truth.

But it is also deeply human to never achieve this.

And to believe and depend on this occurring misses the entire point.

The pursuit of understanding and knowledge can and should exist for itself.

This pursuit is what makes us who we are.

Excitement, wonder, and humanity itself are all rooted in the very fact that life, or at least our understanding of it, is constantly in flux.

New possibilities arise with every second that passes and we must enjoy playing the game that this creates, simply for the sake of playing the game.

If we view life in this way, the void we all have within us will begin to feel a little less deep.

"They requested us specifically. I was about to call her here."
"Um, I can pair up with her." said Serena, and Rochelle slowly nodded.
"…yeah. If that's cool, then yeah." She sighed. "…sorry. I know I'm being kinda a bitch about it, but -"
" - it's alright." nodded Mia. "I'll pair up with her, and Serena with you, then. Can I call her?"
Rochelle nodded. Mia tapped her tablet, and a few minutes later, in came Tiffany, tensing as she saw the three.
"…uh. What's going on?" she said, and Mia gestured for her to sit down.
"The government has another contract for us. They asked us specifically."
"…okay." said Tiffany, sitting down. "Uh, what is it?"
"They haven't said." muttered Mia, tapping her tablet. "They said they -"

"Yes." said Mia. In formal situations she tried to impersonate Matoi more than she would've admitted. "What is it?"
"We have another assignment for you four. Are you healed from last month?"
"I am. I dealt with who was responsible, as well."
"Excellent. I assume you'll be joining Timepact after graduation."
"I will be, yes. What is the assignment?"
"We can't talk about it here." said the second man. He tapped the wall and it shimmered like it was liquid. "Come with us."
"There's - there's no need for that, yet." said the first. "We'll speak of it somewhere more private, yes, and give you your assignment there. Complete it, and you'll be given your professional license. Any questions before we leave?"
"Uh, one." said Rochelle. "Are you allowed to say who that guy was we were escorting, now?"
"I have no knowledge of that."
The four frowned at each other, knowingly.
"…we're ready, then." nodded Mia, and the two men walked in to the wall, one hand gesturing them inside. The four stepped inside, and in the next instant -
- stepped out in to a long steel hall, two men already walking, doors at regular intervals and intersection ahead.
"To save time, you'll be doing your extended registration now." said one of the men. "For Swarm and Screwball - rooms 234 and 248. Miasma and Vector - 336 and 340."
"Don't look in to any other rooms, either." said the other man and the first laughed.
"It's not aliens or secret Revenants, either. It's expensive equipment that'll break if you look at it funny. Some of it costs more than you'll make in your entire life. Meet me in room 133 after you're finished."
"Yes." nodded Mia, and the two men went back the way they came.
"…uh, probably up there, right?" said Serena, gesturing to the intersection, and everyone but Rochelle nodded as they started walking.
"At least we, uh, get our professional license after, right?" said Tiffany. "Like, don't have to go through all those exams and stuff. I heard they're pretty tedious."
"They sometimes are." said Mia. "It's not as long if you're three-star."
"I'm not." winced Tiffany. "Uh, but - you and Serena are, right?"
"And Rochelle." nodded Mia.
Rochelle made no noise or reply until they came to the intersection and the four split to two. Tiffany looked until Rochelle & Mia were out of earshot before speaking to Serena.
"…ugh. I don't know what her problem is." said Tiffany. "Rochelle, I mean. Not Mia. Sorry she's acting weird about it."
"Um, I guess. You two broke up, right?"
"Yeah. We broke up, like - I mean, it was back in January or whatever, but - you know, it was - it wasn't that good of a relationship, anyway. Like, I started realizing it was - it was kinda fucked up, you know? The way she just - me in my first year, and then she tries to fuck me? Even though she's my mentor? Ugh."
"...she seems nice." shrugged Serena.
"I mean, sure, at first. You don't know her like I do. You know, she'd do stuff like - in that midterm exam? She'd just be like 'oh, you pass, let's, let's just go have sex or whatever'. Seriously? This is supposed to be my exam for - you know, to make sure I'm actually good at what I do? And she's just being so blase about it?"
"...uh. Those exams don't mean anything, anyway. Like, I just messed around with my protege's. She did fine."
"Well, uh. Good for you, I guess."
"…um. I just mean…" Serena frowned. Even though she'd only dealt with one other person like Tiffany before, she felt two was too much for three years. "…like, I just mean - it probably wasn't anything against you."
"Well, I'm glad I have you to tell me what she meant. Because she sure didn't."
"I guess."
Tiffany frowned, but they kept walking. Well, whatever, she thought. She didn't need the approval of Serena or anyone else, and she was just trying to make conversation. Besides, just because Serena probably had a crappy protege didn't mean she wanted to be like that.
She sighed and tried to distract herself. Lately, it was feeling like most people disliked her.
"…uh. Sorry." said Serena. "Just trying to help."
"Okay, but. Sure. But that's not the only stuff she did, you know?"
'This is what I get.' thought Serena.
"Believe me." continued Tiffany. "There's plenty of it. Plenty - of - it."
Serena nodded as she came up to room 336 and quickly stepped inside, as did Mia to room 234. A man inside gestured Mia to two sets of scales, one for humans and one for, presumably, Revenants. Various sizes of glass globes were at the other side.
"Swarm, yes?" he said and she nodded. "Ah. Miss President, then."
"Yes. What are we measuring first?"
"Set down one of your scarabs - one of each here. Just going to weigh it. Fire first."
She set a fire scarab down, then continued with the others. Worldwide's scarabs weighed barely over an ounce & were an inch long, and her sword was thirty pounds & fifty inches.
"Worldwide, right?" he said.
"Yes."
"We have a special room for that, and… well. Hopefully, it won't go like last time."
He led her to another room, covered in black material, with a sensor behind twenty transparent walls. Her ice was at absolute zero, and her electricity held ten trillion volts or so. Her Frozen Ray wasn't any stronger than zero, and her electrical was only two quintillion volts. He gave her a wearable device to test her flames, and she found her purple fire burned at, give or take a hundred million, one quintillion degrees. Her blue Solar Beam found a sextillion degrees comfortable.
When she finished, Serena met her with her new license & her measurements. She had shrunk a few inches after Kamon, and Blackburn's fog could fill twenty gallons, but replenished at about a gallon a second. Her tentacle subtracted a few pounds, and they guessed it was six, though the suction cups could carry at least five hundred.
Eventually, Rochelle & Tiffany came back, the latter keeping away from the former, and the four stepped up to room 133.
"…uh." said Rochelle. "Did he mean meet him outside or inside?"
"Somebody's coming." muttered Serena, relevantly. Mia saw the man from earlier coming towards them.
"Excuse me. Swarm - Worldwide, yes?" he said.
"...yes. Is there a problem?"
"No, no - no problem. I need you to come with me for one last thing."
"Someone's in trouble." chimed Tiffany and Serena frowned.
Mia went off with the man, and he led her to a room she knew immediately was for interrogation. She sat down sighing.
"Is this an interrogation?" she said.
"It's just an interview." he said, sitting down across.
"No, it's not."
"…if I tell you it's not, will you answer my questions honestly?"
"What is this about, exactly?"
"We're not attempting to remove your Revenant or get rid of you, if that's what you're asking."
"Then what are you asking about?"
"Can I just start? Again - I'll make this clear. I'm logging your answers for future reference. This isn't part of an investigation, and it isn't about you murdering Kirihara, either."
"I don't know what you're talking about."
"You would do well with a government job." he laughed and Mia didn't. "You know, I interviewed Ryumi, too. Queen of Scarabs. I can tell you more about her, if you want."
Mia's eyes went off to the side, sinking in to the wall.
"She married Magnus, you know." he said. "I know you know who he is."
"I'm aware."
"He was her protege. Do you know what she looks like?"
"I do."
"In her uniform?"
"…she had a uniform?"
He pulled a drawer open, handing a picture to Mia. "She did."
On it, a black-haired woman wearing a purple gasmask and gloves with holes in the palms. Magnus had gotten the former made for her after a string of bad luck with an acidic host, and she had remarked he was more concerned for her safety than she was.
The sight made Mia uneasy. She had looked at the photo of Ryumi & Magnus after her own wedding, and their now-dead joy reminded her&Aimee too much of their own. She looked at it for a while and handed it back. "Alright."
"I know it makes you - it must make you feel something. But I'm not going to ask you what."
"…what is threat level existential?" said Mia and he paused.
"… You're not supposed to know about those, technically."
"I overheard somebody mentioning it."
"I thought I asked you to be honest." he laughed and Mia didn't. "Can you answer my questions if I tell you that, then?"
"Answer first."
"A few questions - your answer - and my questions. How about that?"
"…fine."
"Good. I'll start off easy. Mia, have you ever murdered any civilians?"
"No."
"Not even Edgar's father? Last month?"
"Edgar murdered him."
"Good answer. Any other students besides Kirihara?"
"I don't know what you're talking about."
"Better answer. Let me set up a scenario for you. A - let's say a national level threat, since you're already aware - a national level threat has taken a thousand or so people hostage in a skyscraper. You're working for Timepact in this scenario. You either have the option of a head-on fight or to Sun - Beam the building and catch him off-guard, likely killing civilians in the process. What do you choose?"
"...Aimee may be better suited for that, but - the former, otherwise. A head-on fight."
He paused. Ryumi strongly believed it was better she risk civilian lives than her own & never thought otherwise. After interviewing her, he had wondered why she'd become a hero at all.
"…right." he said. "Do you have any information relating to the Eastern League that might be of interest? Anything Magnus told you about his conduits?"
"No. Answer me."
"…fine." He nodded. "Fine. What was your question?"
"What is threat level existential?"
"… Existential classification has only been given twice - as I'm sure you're aware. Ryumi Egashira and Daigo Yashukure."
"And they killed each other."
"To the best of our knowledge. I reviewed before this questioning - as I assume you're also already aware of, Nikolai - the Eastern League's leader - had a meeting with the government scheduled for a month after her death."
"And he was killed before it."
"And he was killed before it. Before you ask - even I don't know what it was about, so don't bother asking." He sat up. "Have you ever been to Moscow, Mia?"
"...are you talking about the ring?" Mia paused as she remembered Japan. She had never looked closer at Moscow's ring or its properties. "…it wasn't destroyed by Daigo."
"All I'm authorized to tell you is that, for whatever reason, the Eastern League had given her a device to record her temperature that day - the one you were wearing earlier. She didn't normally wear it. It was in Nikolai's possessions."
"Was it to measure her Solar Beam?"
"The last reading on it from her was over one nonillion degrees Celsius. I assume you -"
"- a nonillion? Why would she have possibly needed to go that high?"
"And now, our knowledge is equal. Someone higher up than me took one look at it and declared her Existential on the spot."
"I - how hot did you say my Solar Beam is?"
"One sextillion degrees. In case you're not aware, if a sextillion is one, a nonillion is a billion."
