Angor spent almost the entire night searching for a clue, and he finally saw a book which described how a group of healers saved lives in ancient times. Probably to idolize them, every doctor carried a shining rod decorated by a serpent-like object.
There were even story strips that told a story in history. A man with the serpent rod saw a "shining cloud" as an omen, which led him to a city plagued by a serious illness. He went there and managed to save the suffering patients.
If it were not superstition, Angor would assume that the "shining cloud" was some kind of large-scale healing spell.
There was the "serpent on rod" picture at the end of the book again.
It wasn't a doctor's tool this time, but a giant statue placed in the middle of a plaza, where a number of doctors in healer robes paid their respect to it.
The picture that showed a solemn scene had a line written beneath it.
[Doctor's Oath]
A doctor's oath declared that he or she would never abandon a patient or show disrespect to their job.
But Angor got even more confused as he looked at the picture. According to the previous pictures, the rod was a tool for the doctors. But it suddenly became a symbol of belief in the end…
He took a guess that there was a wizard healer, who was praised by the people he saved. After he left, people regarded his stories as legends and gradually regarded his mark—the serpent rod—as a spiritual belief for doctors.
This was the most reasonable assumption Angor could think of.
However… What did this have anything to do with Akeso? And Pocratee?
The book only described the information as to ancient mythology. There was no real snake, nor any meaning held by the symbol. And Angor learned nothing about Pocratee, which was his biggest question regarding this matter.
Having wasted his time, Angor could only sigh in frustration. He rearranged the books in place and left the chamber quietly.
When he returned to the plaza outside, he was surprised to find snow coming from the sky.
He spent his childhood in a coastal area with a moderate climate, and the mirror world always retained gentle temperatures. He did see snowfield on Parmigi Highlands before, but this was the first time for him to see snowy weather away from home. He barely remembered the time when he saw snow at the capital of the Goldspink Empire as a child. To experience the amazing weather again made him feel extremely comforted.
It seemed the snow around him had shut all irritations and noises away. With a relaxed and serene mood, Angor slowly paced toward where he came from.
Every season had a symbol. Angor believed that such pure and holy snow was the symbol of winter. His spell-enhanced overcoat always prevented him from feeling the changes in temperature, but now, the floating snowflakes finally reminded him that winter had arrived.
He thought about his family faraway. He thought about Leon and Jon.
He left Grue Town just during the Month of Freezing Earth. At that time, he followed Mara and joined a whole new amazing world. 
Two years had already elapsed.
Two years wasn't long for wizards, but it was for Angor, for he had not grown strong enough to protect his family or save Jon.
Heck, he didn't even know where he was right now.
He had been comforting himself that he would return soon enough. But… could he really?
The Purification Garden was about to open. Could he get there in time?
Angor shook his head to get rid of the random concerns which would affect his decisions.

As the night grew darker, more snow came floating down.
Angor didn't activate the Purification Field, and he allowed the snowflakes to land on him. Instead of giving him chilliness, the lovely objects melting on his shoulder somewhat calmed his mind.
Across the curtain of white velvet, he saw a shop at the end of the street which still had its lights on.
It was a small clinic, which he already noticed on his way to the library. Across the blurred window, he could see narrow rooms, bright oil lamps, and simple desks and chairs inside. A young female doctor was sipping on some hot drink while watching the snow falling through her fogged glasses.
Angor briefly stopped in front of the window, and the young doctor quickly noticed him. She took off her glasses and gave Angor a gentle smile.
Out of instinct, Angor wanted to lower his hat and leave. But when he thought about the "Doctor's Oath" that he just saw in the library, he nodded to the woman and entered the clinic instead.
The doctor was a little surprised. She put down her drink and came to the door.
"The weather's getting worse. Come in and have some tea." She noticed that the man, who was in a strange suit, didn't plan to come inside a second ago. He didn't look ill either. She believed this man was only here to escape the cold.
She quickly brought out another water glass and served Angor hot tea.
Angor thought about rejecting, but he decided otherwise upon smelling the scent of milk.
"I'm sorry, I only have milk tea here because I kinda love it." She looked somewhat embarrassed. "Please try it out, sir. It's from Winton, and it's a perfect warm-up drink in this cold winter."
Angor hesitated a little before he accepted the glass.
Instead of drinking right away, he placed the glass on a desk first. He then removed his top hat and smiled at the woman.
The woman noticed that she just addressed a teenager as "sir". A handsome teenager at that. This boy reminded her of someone she loved while she was still studying in the academy. She wondered how many women would fall in love with this guy once he grew up.
She then shook her head for losing another perfect dating chance.
"I'm Sherry, the chief doctor of Sherry's Clinic. I think the snow caught everyone by surprise. How about spending the night here until it clears up a little?"
Angor nodded. "Doctor Sherry, did you graduate from Golden Cross?"
Sherry looked surprised at the question. She then spoke while blushing a little. 
"Golden Cross is the very best academy a doctor can hope for in Zeal Dominion. I was never good enough to get admitted. I came from Folan. It's not that famous, but they still gave birth to a lot of great doctors. Lady Caroline, who just came to Water Grasse, was once a student in Folan as well."
Angor nodded nonchalantly. He simply wished to strike a topic.
"I heard doctors all need an oath when they graduate. Can you tell me something about that, Miss Sherry?"
Sherry wasn't sure why this gentleman asked such a thing. Since it wasn't anything private, she gladly joined the topic so as to pass some time.
"I wasn't expecting that from a young traveler. Are you planning to study medicine too?"
Angor only grinned gently.
Sherry complained in her mind. 
How could a kid display such charisma by a simple smile…
"You are right. There is a ritual when we leave school and officially enter our profession. We did it upon joining the academy too. And I still remember those words…"
Sherry recited her oath.
It sounded almost the same as what Angor read in "Doctor's Oath". However, hers came with one extra line—"To disregard theology."
Angor squinted upon hearing this interesting detail. Even the highly-developed civilization from Earth which relied on science did not completely "ban" mythologies from their books. Certain scientists even declared that the end of science was theology.
It was so interesting how the wizarding world, which actually had "unscientific powers", claimed to give up theology in an oath.
"Doctor Sherry, I can understand how doctors must be responsible to their patients and to themselves. But why are they distancing themselves from theology?"
"Because gods and deities are something to fool common people. There are no gods in this world, right? If a patient believes in gods, how are we to treat him? My teacher once told me that theology defies the real work of doctors."
Angor nodded. He partially agreed with Sherry. It was true that rulers always needed something to control crowds, such as beliefs, morals standards, and laws. And Sherry was right about how god-believing patients would sometime reject real doctors.
But he didn't really think theology would taint the field of medicine.
To Angor, theology didn't necessarily mean religions, but it was something beyond human recognition. Gods and devils were only imaginary symbols made up by mankind to represent good and bad.
All in all, theology pursued the "unknown". Something unknown couldn't possibly "defy" doctors. The oath seemed a little bit extreme about this one, but he wasn't going to discuss it with Sherry. 
"Do you believe in any supernatural phenomenon in this world, Doctor Sherry?"
"I… don't think so?"
Angor nodded and ended the topic here.

Unless the Celestial Deity Daluo arrives, no one else can remove the scar on my face. It’s impossible for a silly little girl like you, no matter how great your abilities are! Fine then! I’ll accept your challenge! If you manage to remove the scars on my face, I’ll swear my fealty to you. If I ever betray you, I’ll willingly allow my family line to end with me, and enter the 18 levels of hell, never to be reborn."
Never underestimate the power of oaths. In this mainland filled with miracles, no one would dare violate their oaths, for fear of regretting the consequences in the future.

Gu Ruoyun paused in her footsteps, she turned to look at the Ghost Doctor who was still gritting her teeth. She smiled as if she was getting away with some sinister plot.

Beauty Rejuvenation Pill? The Ghost Doctor was momentarily stunned. She looked hesitatingly at the pill in Gu Ruoyun’s hands. Finally, she took the Beauty Rejuvenation Pill and carefully swallowed it down.
The reason why the Ghost Doctor would daringly take the Beauty Rejuvenation Pill, was entirely because she was an expert in poison. Furthermore, she had already become immune to most types of poison and was not afraid of being harmed by Gu Ruoyun.
"Hmph! Let’s see how you’re going to end this!"
The Ghost Doctor scoffed and replied mockingly.
However, just as she had finished speaking, the wounds on her face began to itch, as if ten thousand ants were crawling over her wounds. It was so itchy that she couldn’t help but raise up hands to her face to scratch her wounds…
Suddenly, Gu Ruoyun's single rebuke stopped her hand.
"Don’t scratch, or you will bear the consequences on your own!"
"You…" The Ghost Doctor was infuriated to the point of insanity, "I’ve already become immune to most types of poison eight years ago, how is your medicine affecting me? What grudge do we have between us, for you to come here, simply to harm me?"
I have been too careless, she thought regretfully, thinking that I was immune to poison. And now, I have fallen into this little girl’s plot.
The Ghost Doctor grew so angry at the thought, that she gritted her teeth until it ached but she did not dare to make any reckless moves.
"Hon… Honorable Ghost Doctor, your face…" Mister Liu let out a cry out of shock. He was completely tongue-tied.
"What's happened to my face?"
The Ghost Doctor frowned and snatched up the mirror from a table. Then, with one glance, she was rooted to the ground in shock…
The terrible scars on her face were forming scabs bit by bit, then falling off her face. After every fallen scab, the light pink wounds then rapidly changed back into fair white skin …
There must be something wrong with my eyes! She thought in shock. That’s right, I must be going blind!
There was no need to mention about how hard it was to treat old wounds, even with the strongest medicines, there would not be any results so quickly. Furthermore, the scars were recovering at a speed that the human eye could clearly see.
What does this mean?  She thought in panic. It was terribly frightening!
The Ghost Doctor stayed so still that she seemed lifeless. Suddenly, she burst into wild laughter — a kind that carried unbridled joy.
"You wretched couple… For the sake of stealing the Treasury of Medicine that the master left in my care, you joined forces and ruined my face… You've even poisoned the wounds you left, in order to use the antidote as a means to force me to give you the book. You probably never would have thought that I would successfully escape and cure the poison! It’s been ten years... For ten years, your betrayal has always come to mind whenever I look upon the wounds on my face! I never thought that I could ever recover my original appearance…"

We arrived at the Town of Romsey and I was in a very bad mood because of this damn period. The Knights left me alone not wanting to agitate me even further while Doctor Edgar 'offers' as he is saying for the past few hours. Me food, I craved for a lot of things while he just complies and buys me the stuff I want and need surprisingly, I never heard him complain even once.

"That's a surprise since Doctor Edgar is known to be-"

"Commander Alfonso"

Me and the second commander were talking about the Doctor, the commander is keeping me company since I felt lonely inside of my room. The Doctor arrived carrying a paper bag of fruits with him this world doesn't use plastic. Thank God the animals won't suffer because of plastic in this world.

"What were you talking about to the Princess?" He says with narrowed eyes.

"N-Nothing"

"Here you are your highness, you must intake the vitamins of the fruits in this world to keep yourself healthy"

"I want junk foods"

"If you arrive unhealthy at the Capital his majesty will have my head"

"Am I, THAT important?"

"You are, you are the most important person in this world right now, that is why we need to take you to the Capital safely"

"Translation to what he said, We keep you guarded and safe, while he keeps you healthy and in good condition"

"But he won't protect me in any kind of way?"

"I will protect you if it is necessary"

"Tomorrow we travel again right?"

"Yes, your highness"

"I just want to sleep, loaf around on a bed not travel anymore"

"You will get proper rest soon, the moment you arrived in the Capital, please endure for just a bit longer"

I nod, continuing eating the fruits. After I was done I bid good night to the two gentlemen, they left me alone and I went to the bed hiding in the covers.

--The Next Morning--

The maids prepared a bath for me and helped me washed, I wanted to refuse but I feel like a vegetable, no energy to struggle this time, the maids wash me with ease while I sink into the back of my mind not wanting to think that I'm being washed by the maids again, they dressed me up and pulled my hair into a neat bun after that the Doctor went inside of the room with food, he presents me with porridge filled fruits, it had bananas, raspberries, sprinkled with nuts and orange slices on the side.

"Thank you, Doctor, what a healthy meal"

"It's breakfast, now please eat it all"

It didn't taste anything, it's bland, if the fruits weren't there this would've been a boring breakfast.

"I want to cook for my own breakfast next time."

The maid's gasps, the Doctor looked shocked as well, what did I do now? The Doctor shook his head.

"You cannot cook your meal, your highness, it is the jobs of the chefs to cook for you"

"But, I want to cook for myself, the food I want, since I doubt that the chefs here know the food in my world"

"You can instruct them, but you cannot lift a single utensil in the Kitchen that is the Royal rule of being a Princess"

I stared at him dumbfounded, so what the hell is a princess supposed to do?! Look pretty and be useless as any other fairy tale princess?!

I said with sarcasm, annoyed at what he said, after I ate the Doctor waved his hand to dismiss the Maid, I noted to myself that I'd do that too in the near future.

"Let's go, your highness" I hooked my arm on his, exiting the room when we arrived at where the carriage had parked a shout suddenly stopped me.

"Princess! Please!"

"?"

I turned around to see a battered, thin, pale skin, brunette-haired lady, she had bruises on her face and body, I raised a brow looking curiously at her.

"Step away peasant, her highness doesn't have the light of day to give to you!"

"Your highness, I had a premonition that you will accept me as Lady-in-waiting, I am good with drawings of clothes that you will certainly like!"

Lady-in-waiting, I do need someone that will be by my side and help me with the things in this world.

"One Step more and we will resolve in-"

"Stop!"

I said to the Knight that was threatening her.

"Lower your weapon"

The Knights softened their stance, the brunette-haired lady came towards me and kneeled, to my shock at her sudden action.

"Your highness...please accept me as your lady-in-waiting, I will do everything that you want me to do, just please accept me"

"You said that you draw clothes that I will like, may I see them?"

She nods and pulls out a medium-size diary, she gives it to me with shaking hands.

I opened it, genuinely surprised at what I am seeing right now, designer clothes from my world are neatly drawn with small cute details.

Backless Dresses, Off-shoulder ones, One shouldered-ones, Balloon Gowns, Female dress shirts with a cravat, Black Slacks for females and many more designs, it even has cute shorts.

Damn, I'd kill to wear this kind of outfits again, not just this dresses, but the comfy clothes.

"You're a designer for clothes?"

"Yes, but because of how revealing it is, I have been ostracised, mocked, and ignored...my talents are not recognised, but my powers of premonition are used by the people that hire me, my premonition doesn't come often and it is at random, so whenever my employer wants a premonition from me and it doesn't come they…"

Tears streamed down her cheeks, I inspected her appearance, she was wearing a brown dress. I think it became brown because of the dirt, her hair is messy...her overall appearance isn't appealing to the eye.

"I'll wait for you, may I know what your name is?"

She looks up with big brown eyes, still crying.

"I-I apologise for not saying earlier, my name is Elinna"

"Go and bathe first, change into clean clothes, Commander Raulyn tell the maids to assist her, then escort her back here"

"But-"

"Please"

I gave a soft smile at the commander he nod's and led Elinna inside of the inn. Doctor Edgar gave me a look.

"Your highness, are you sure about this?"

"Yes"

"You don't even know the girl and you trust what she says?"

"She's pretty brave to even confront me head-on, even though she knew of the danger that she's in, the Knights were ready to cut her into pieces on the spot"

"Yes but-"

"This is my decision, Doctor"

"...Please do a binding ritual with the girl"

"A what now?"

"She needs to swear loyalty to you, like a Knight, swears to his Master, using his sword"

"Is that necessary?"

"It is to make sure that she does not do anything to you, you cannot just take anyone in so suddenly your highness, especially a lady-in-waiting"

"I don't-" I was about to reason with them that Elinna doesn't look like she'd hurt a single fly.

"The Doctor is right", Commander Alfonso chided in"a peasant being a lady-in-waiting is suspicious, ladies-in-waiting are usually Marchioness or Viscountess, higher rank nobles, you will be looked down upon if they know that you have taken a peasant as a Lady-in-waiting"

"Then let me change the view of people, that anyone can be a lady-in-waiting if they are personally chosen, right now I choose Elinna, I'll do the loyalty thing with her so that you don't worry."

The Doctor and Second Commander looked at each other, they were about to say something when Elinna returned, fresh and clean, I greeted her with a smile.

"Welcome back"

She lowers herself on her knees, to my bewilderment.

"I would like to have a blood oath with you, your highness"

"...Blood Oath?" I said confused

"A blood oath will bind you to her highness for all eternity unless her highness breaks it, you can never escape from it"

"Yes"

"Your highness, do you accept her offer?" The first commander asks.

"Can we just do a regular oath? I don't see why we should do a blood oath"

"No. I want to never betray you or even cross my mind in betraying you, your highness, I know that everyone here is skeptical for me to be your lady-in-waiting this is why, I want the blood oath"

She looks at me with determination.

"How do we even do this?"

"You say what you want to say to her, then draw the sun symbol on her forehead with your blood"

"How do I draw blood?"

Commander Alfonso sheathe his sword, presenting it to me, the sharp tip pointing down and the blade of it facing me.

"Prick your finger with the blade of the sword, drawing a little blood"

"Okay" I nod and look at Elinna who lowered her head "Swear to me that you will not betray me or even have the thought of betraying me"

"I, Elinna a mere peasant, accept you as my Master, swearing loyalty, to never betray or even having the thought of betrayal, I accept the punishment of death by your hand if your highness, think my loyalty is being questionable, or if your highness thinks that I am being disloyal. I accept everything with all of my heart"

I prick my hand on the sword that's presented to me, the blood oozes from the wound.

Draw a sun on her forehead right?

She lifts her head closing her eyes, I draw a sun pattern on her forehead using my blood, it seeps on her forehead disappearing. Suddenly my head throbbed.

I don't know what happened but everyone held their breath for some reason, Elinna opened her eyes, a shade of blue circling in her brown eyes, my own eyes reflected on hers that's glowing?!

I stepped back, Doctor Edgar caught my arm.

"I think that's enough of that"

"My eyes" I touched my face in disbelief "my eyes were glowing…"

"You also made everyone felt the intensity of your psych energy, now, both of you step inside of the Carriage, Elinna is now your lady-in-waiting, and she will know the status of your well-being, she cannot harm you or think of harming you so she is trustworthy"

"Okay"

"Here, Elinna"

The Doctor grabbed something from inside his belongings and gave it to Elinna

"Ointment for the bruises, apply it every night"

"Thank you"

"Let's be on our way"

The two of us stepped inside of the cosy Carriage, she sat opposite from me and the little lion cub was beside me.

"I've never seen a Holy Beast before, it's an honour"

"The thing is always sleeping, day and night...it follows me but I don't even notice it"

"Why don't you give the Holy Beast a name?"

"Why?" I said looking at the thing

"Naming a Holy Beast strengthens your bond and psych powers"

"Meow?"

The little lion cub looks up at me with expectant eyes.

"I'm craving my favourite food, I'll name you Fries," I said to the little lion cub now named Fries

"Meow?"

"Fries…?"

"It's a potato deep fried in oil then served"

"I've never heard of that food before"

"It doesn't exist in this world" I pointed out, "Elinna"

"Your highness?"

"Can you just call me Seraphine when we're alone?" She blushes

"I wouldn't dare!"

"It's just the two of us, I'm not used to being called, 'your highness' or 'Princess' it irritates me, but I need to get used to it, I just want to hear someone using my name for once"

"...Do I have permission then?"

"You have full permission"

"T-Then S-Seraphine…" I smiled

"Princess…" she added

"You'll get used to it too, eventually"

"I apologise"

"It's fine, I'm not going to force you to say it" She smiles at me then suddenly begins to sob. "Whoa! Why are you crying?! Oh shit, were you hungry?!" I take one of the baskets that have food in it that I haven't touched. "Eat, sorry I forgot with all of the things going on" I take out the fruit sandwich giving it to her.

"No…" She chuckles wiping away the tears.

"No, no, you haven't eaten yet, I know it. Take a bite first"

She nods, laughing but still crying, she eats slowly while I pat her back trying to calm her down. I notice the thick callus on both of her hands.

"You've worked hard, haven't you?" I said absent-mindedly she nods "sorry, I said that out loud"

"I am truly grateful that you have accepted me, your highness, I" She lowers the food and sobs.

"Hey, you're fine, you're safe," I reassured her.

"Thank you"

I patted her back, comforting her until she calmed down again, she continued eating while I sat beside her. When she finished she cleared her throat.

"I'm sorry for the display of weakness"

"It's fine, it wasn't weakness, you can cry in front of me whenever you like, I'm not going to judge you"

"I am thankful to you and my ability to see the future right now. This time I am in the hands of someone kind. I promise I will be useful to you."

"Can I ask you though...where did you get those bruises in your face?"

"The last job that I had...I made a mistake on the size of the dress, and the owner got irritated at me" her lips trembled

"You don't have to continue-"

"I can continue your highness, thank you for worrying" I nod

"The owner grabbed a long wood and bashed me with it, I apologised repeatedly but she never listened" She sniffed holding her tears, that is threatening to fall "I ran away from the area for three days, I scavenged for food, begged for it until I had a premonition of your highness...the moment your kind face flashed in my mind, I hailed you as my saviour, and began looking for your highness" She went down from the seat and knelt "Thank you"

"No need for that!" I grabbed her arm and pulled her up "never do that again alright?!" She nods and sat beside me "trust me, I won't let anyone bully you, harm you, and you will eat three times a day like me, just don't kneel like that anymore, you will also be paid like a lady-in-waiting should"

I have no idea where I will get the money but I will pay you for sure.

"Rest assured now Elinna, okay?"

"Yes…"

 On the other hand, Wei Xiao Bei transmitted his orders to these Persons.

 The sound of electricity crackling echoed, causing the high-voltage net to temporarily lose effect.
 Afterward, black figures came out from the darkness and instantly climbed on top of the wall and jumped to the other side.

 After killing these people, there was no doubt that suspicion against him would build, even if he left a stand-in back in the police office.
 Now that these people had been replaced with stand-ins, the next matter would be easy to deal with.
 After dealing with the matter in front of him, these Persons could die by any method which would completely drive away all suspicions of his involvement.

 However, it was already pretty good to have these Persons helping him in this manner. If he wanted them to do more things, it would be easy for others to see what was actually going on. 
 After all, the Persons were bred, creatures. They were only the same in appearance. They could do simple things, but if they were asked to do business, then they would be easily exposed.
 After dealing with these people, Wei Xiao Bei moved to Yao Zi Zhong's place.
 What surprised Wei Xiao Bei was that Yao Zi Zhong was not at his home. After pretending to be his friend, he asked the housekeeper of his whereabouts. Only then did Wei Xiao Bei find out that once Yao Zi Zhong had returned, he began to spit out blood and was sent to the hospital

The floor and table were covered in dust, his new poster of Zhang Liang Ying that had just been posted on the wall a few days ago had already become yellow and tattered all over. Even Zhang Liang Ying’s beautiful face became monstrous as if an old devil was looking at him with a terrifying smile.
The walls were covered by a mist of cobwebs and the fruits placed on top of the coffee table were withered and rotted to the point that the mold on them had turned black. The fruits below even seemed to have turned into mush. The aluminium framed window that the landlord had just installed not that long ago was now covered in a layer of white ash and the glass was filled with cracks and covered in dust.
The computer beside his bed was also covered by cobwebs and was accompanied by an empty water glass with a withered worm inside of it.
Dust filled the air making Wei Xiao Bei choke as he tried to breathe.
Everything seemed to be ash gray without any light as if looking at television static.
After just one night, it seemed like everything in the room had aged for centuries or even millennia.
Mother… is this a dream?
This must be a dream!

The next morning, Katrina goes to the hospital to deal with a medical incident.
Fortunately, the situation isn't serious, but the patient's family and the doctor have a dispute that nearly reaches the point of a physical altercation.
These days, doctor-patient relationships are tense.
More and more healthcare workers are maliciously getting hurt by families of the patients, leaving a great impact on society. This issue has caused panic in the whole medical industry. At the slightest hint that the situation will go wrong, healthcare workers immediately call the police to guarantee their own safety.
When Katrina and her colleagues arrive at the hospital, they dissuade the patient's family from violence and succeed in calming them down.
At noon, Katrina has lunch with Farrah.
Farrah looks depressed as she shares her woes, "Katrina, you're so smart to have the foresight to change industries beforehand. You don't know how helpless the healthcare workers are nowadays. We work tirelessly to death from day to night, at the risk of the patient's family attacking one of our colleagues or us.
"Today's incident is actually quite tame. The patient's family is sensible and doesn't dare attack irrationally. A few days ago, a young father came to the hospital with his daughter. The doctor was busy with receiving other patients at the time, so the nurse asked him to wait for a few minutes.
"But the young father kicked the nurse directly in the stomach several times. The nurse was pregnant and lost the baby on the spot. It was too hateful; the nurse didn't cause his child to become ill or do anything to annoy him! How could he vent his anger out on the poor nurse like that?"
When Katrina hears about the incident, her back goes involuntarily cold from the shock.
It never occurred to her that such violence would occur in a place of healing.
Because the doctor was temporarily busy and couldn't quickly attend to a patient, a pregnant nurse lost her baby.
That was murder!
How could such a man be a good father!
Understandably, he was concerned for his own daughter. But why didn't he think about the nurse's love for the baby in her womb?
Feeling her heart constrict, Katrina can't help but grasp Farrah's hand anxiously. "Farrah, please be careful. If a patient's family ever troubles you, don't argue with them. Call the police immediately."

Hearing Katrina's worried tone, Farrah laughs. "Katrina, relax, I know what to do."
"After seeing what happened today, I can't help but worry about you."
"Actually, most patients have reasonable families who respect doctors and nurses. Sometimes, when they notice that we're too busy to eat, the patients' families are eager to give us fruit when we visit the ward."
Farrah continues, "It's a little difficult and tiring. There's also a lot of complaints, but I really like my job.
"There's a real sense of accomplishment to see patients on the verge of death getting well and being able to walk out of the hospital after getting treatment from doctors and nurses.

"I'm determined to do my best to cure human diseases and illnesses, to help develop perfect health, to maintain the sanctity and honor of medical techniques, to heal the wounded and rescue the dying, to pursue hard work with persistence, and to strive for the development of medical undertakings and physical and mental health throughout my career.
"No matter how difficult it gets or how tired I become, I will never forget the oath I took."
It's evident that Farrah really loves her profession from the bottom of her heart. Saving the dying and treating the wounded is the most respectable career for her.
Unfortunately, many people in the industry have other interests and have gradually forgotten their original purpose for going into the industry.
Katrina is immensely moved that her best friend still has her passion and takes the oath she took to heart as her motivation to keep working.
Katrina clutches her hand tightly. "Farrah, you're so amazing! I'm so proud of you."
She believes that thousands of medical workers still think like Farrah.
Although it seems small and insignificant, healthcare workers in the hospital do their utmost to contribute their own strength and help out.
In the face of Katrina's praise, Farrah becomes shy and embarrassed.
"It's my duty, just as your job as a police officer is to catch bad guys and keep the peace. There's nothing to be proud of."
Farrah quickly changes the topic. "Come on, Katrina! Let's eat! This restaurant is famous for braised pork!"
With that, Farrah begins to dig in.
Katrina smiles and takes a bite of the meat.
At that moment, she really feels very happy.
Good friends surround Katrina. She can eat out and go shopping with Farrah, and she doesn't need to hide anything from her. Marcellus, whom she has always liked, and her colleagues and superiors at the bureau, all take care of her.
Katrina loves this simple and satisfying feeling.
Her life is finally back on track.
As for her experience with Aaron, she sees those two months as a distant nightmare. After the nightmare comes to life, the contents of the bad dream will gradually be forgotten.

Noticing that Katrina is hesitating to answer the phone, Farrah raises her head and asks, "What's wrong, Katrina? Is there an urgent task at the bureau? Are you being called back?"
Katrina pauses for a moment before replying, "Sophie is calling me."
Hearing Sophie's name, Farrah immediately stops eating and drops the fork on the table with a heavy thud. "Sophie? What does she want from you? Is she looking for trouble?"
At the mention of Sophie, Farrah instantly becomes annoyed.
When Sophie slapped Katrina last time, she could still vividly remember the stark handprint on her best friend's face.
Sophie's name has a conditioned response on Farrah, causing her hackles to rise. Every time Sophie looks for Katrina, it always means trouble.
Katrina smiles with some bitterness and shakes her head. "I don't know why she's calling."
Sophie rarely calls Katrina. Receiving a call from her now also puzzles her. She wonders what Sophie is up to this time.

Special Note: If you are looking for a sweet contemporary-romance genre, this novel doesn't have that kind of plot. Most plots of my novel talk about mystery, suspense, and a slice of life. Often FL starts a slow pace of development, from weak to strong.

The room tingled with electric fever, intermingled with the wisps of sterile antiseptic, my stomach curled in knots. The bed I laid upon was made entirely of cool slate, the doctors said it helped with the transition, I didn't know how being uncomfortable would help but anything to increase my chances of survival were welcomed with open arms.

The leader of this operation, Dr. Heinrich, loomed over my side in his white gown and blue mask, "Sir, it's almost time for the operation." Dr. Heinrich paused, "Are you ready?"
A thin waning smile plastered itself across my pale face, "Of course not, but what other choice do I have, the worlds ending."
Dr. Heinrich nodded his head in sad understanding, "Yes, you are our last patient. Soon we will attempt to follow you but I doubt there will be much success in that endeavor." The Dr sighed.
"Dr. Heinrich, the tools have been prepped and sterilized, the other doctors are ready when you are sir." A small woman dressed in the same white robe as Dr. Heinrich wheeled a small steel cart laden with foreign tools into the small operation room and then quickly made her leave through the grey exit.
Dr. Heinrich looked over at the cart and then sat on a small chair next to my slate bed, "Before the operation begins I'd like to go over a few things with you in case of our success, is that alright?"

"Yes of course." I tried to nod my head but the carbon fiber holds strapping down my extremities quickly stopped my trying.
"Very good, then let's start off with the world you're moving to."
"Sure."
The Doctor shifted in his seat as he brought his clipboard closer to his face, "The world you and the rest of humanity are moving to is called Algorra, this world will have no laws or government bodies in any regard, as such you can expect hostilities from every direction. The wild and your fellow Terran's both. The doctor peeked over his blue tinted glasses in order to gauge my understanding.
"Don't worry doctor, I understand. Those circumstances are much more tolerable than my current ones anyway."
Dr. Heinrich nodded his head, "Good, next we'll go over some specific aspects of the world and the failsafe's put in place to protect it from the current planetary melt down."

"Algorra, after a planet wide survey, and in hopes of increasing survival rate, has been implemented as a fantasy world. This means that magic will be real; monsters as well as other races will exist too."

"I understand."
"Good; the world of Algorra is a digital one of our and our most advanced AI's creation. The servers for this world have been buried deep enough within the Earth's crust that if ever the sun were to go supernova they would maintain functionality, as an extra precaution the servers are also held within heat resistant particle fields which have the ability to use ambient energy to power themselves and the servers. This makes any participant able to travel to this new world functionally... immortal."

The doctor looked up at me again, away from his clipboard, "Is all this registering Mr. Grey?"
"Yes, don't worry Dr. Heinrich, I've gone over all the information for the transition, I also know I only have one in a third chance of surviving."

Dr. Heinrich sighed for what likely felt the thousandth time that year, his wrinkled eyes suddenly looked all the more visible behind those blue tinted glasses.

"Yes, the survival rate is atrocious, it hasn't done any wonders for my sleep." The doctor rubbed his masked face, "To think my Hippocratic oath would require me to take so much life in order to preserve the human race..." The doctor paused for a few seconds, I could see his shoulders shake slightly, (How much had these people given to allow us another chance? This was the first time the magnitude of their sacrifice had fully dawned on me, I quickly gained a new respect and awe for the medical teams staying behind to help us move forward.) 

The doctor quickly regained his composure, coughing he began again, "Anyway, we should move on to yourself yes?"

"Sure Doctor."
"As you know, every participant in this operation is required to take a physical and mental assessment in order to gauge the operation's possibility of success, the tests are also used to allocate your stat points. Due to public outrage at the unfairness of this decision we have also implemented a roulette of sorts, which will allocate a random number of stat points to a participant's character in addition to their natural aptitude's."
The doctor stopped here, leaning closer towards my bed, "Now I know I'm not supposed to tell you anything specific about your results or roulette but my Hippocratic oath has already been shot to hell, so as my last patient I'm going to bend the rules a bit, "Your physical and mental results were quite good, definitely above the average citizen, but your roulette was fantastic. A general increase in all of your stats but a significant increase in your intelligence was added. If I were you, I would try to become a mage, you'll be among the strongest if you can figure out Algorra's magic system."

The doctor leaned back in his chair, "I think that's about it for now, if you're able to make the transition, you'll wake up in the new world..." The doctor stood from his chair and grabbed a syringe from the steel cart. 
"Are you prepared Mr. Grey?" Dr. Heinrich slowly pushed the syringe to make sure it was in working order; a thin trail of blue liquid arced through the air.
"Yes, now's as good a time as any."

Moving to the head of my bed, Dr. Heinrich began to insert the syringe into my IV. "Now don't you worry, as my last patient, me and my medical team also found a way to give you some small gifts in Algorra, I hope we meet again Mr. Grey, in more fortunate circumstances."

My body began to feel sluggish, shifting my leaden head to the right, I looked up at Dr. Heinrich for what would most likely be the last time, "Thank you... all of you."
Dr. Heinrich's eyes seemed to grow much younger for a second, behind those blue tinted glasses, "What else are doctors for, but to care for their patients." He spoke in a much softer tone this time, "Goodbye Mr. Grey."
"Goodbye Dr. Heinri..."
My tongue grew heavy and bulbous, my arms lost any sense of feeling, and soon my vision darkened until all I could feel was a heavy black void surrounding my soul. The last thing I could feel before my consciousness faded was relief; relief that I had escaped that hell called Earth.

I know Brother Xu is really serious about this matter. I don't know how to process this new information. I don't know who Chen Xi Wang is anymore. "The big tree? Shui Jing, don't do something mad!" Brother Xu shouted at me. I can see that he is angry at me but I don't know what is the reason. "Do you know if something happens to Chen Xi Wang, you will die with him!"
"What?"
Oh! He really trapped me in this stupid oath! No! This is not an oath but a curse! If he wants to die he doesn't need to drag me to die with him!
"The Oath from Chen Clan is not simple. They are so loyal."
"I don't care! He just used me and made me kill Qin Qiao! He doesn't have any affection towards me. Perhaps from the start, this oath was just a mistake. We did it without our consent. Then I remember when Chen Xi Wang mentioned about being trapped and now I really understand why he hates me but cannot kill me. Even Chen Xi Wang blamed me for his family's death. How come he has affection towards me? The idea about love is a mirage in the desert. Chen Xi Wang once had told me that he cannot love me. I think this is so clear like a crystal. Why do I have to hope Chen Xi Wang will come back like the past time? This idea is just an illusion.
"Shui Jing, I think you need to take a rest. The doctor will examine you." Brother Xu said.
"Brother, I don't need a doctor." I said as I turned around and got out from Lotus Hall. Every step that I take feels so heavy. I feel so weak but I have to walk straight because I am a princess
"Shui Jing, what are you doing?" Brother Xu asked me from behind.
"Brother, I don't know yet."
I leave Lotus hall and go forward to my chamber. I lay my body over the bed. I don't care about anything else because I just want to sleep right now  and I close my eyes.
"Shui Jing…"
Someone called my name but I don't want to open my eyes because I am so tired. Moreover, I think I am dreaming so I don't need to wake up because I want to shut myself from outside. Just for a while.

Is this Chen Xi Wang's voice? Is he over here? Could it be? No! I must be dreaming because Chen Xi Wang has never talked to me with such a gentle voice like this.
"Shui Jing, I am falling in love with you, that's why the oath can bind us like this. I am sorry because I never know that there is an oath when I touch a girl. I never imagine if something like this had happened to us."
Chen Xi Wang's voice sounded so sad. Is it really a dream? Why do I feel an ache in my heart? I am startled when I feel the tears flowing from the edge of my eyes. Am I crying? I decide to open my eyes but before I do, I feel someone wipe away my tears and make me hesitant to open my eyes because I know when I open my eyes I will see Chen Xi Wang's face and now I am not ready yet to face him.
"I know you will not love me. Even though you say the word love, how can I trust that word if you are still thinking of Qin Qiao in your mind?"
What is in his mind exactly? Doesn't he trust me that I really loved him?
"Shui Jing, I know that you regret meeting me. Regret for everything that we have gone through but I can do nothing to come back at that time and change everything. If I knew if everything turned like this at that time."
What?! Should I open my eyes or stay like this? I never know if Chen Xi Wang will say something like this to me.
"But Shui Jing, do you know that I never regret meeting you? I just regret the way we had to meet in such way. I hope we can meet properly so you will be happy after meeting me but I think it's impossible, right?"
I feel his palm caressing my face gently. I have to admit, Chen Xi Wang never harms my body. Why do I feel the gentleness in his every touch?
"Shui Jing, I know the relationship between us is too messy and I realized I would never turn back again."
Then I feel a kiss on the edge of my lips. I try to keep silent and pretend to be asleep. His breath touched my skin but this time Chen Xi Wang doesn't continue any longer.
When I open my eyes. I see no one. In this chamber just me and the silence accompany me. My tears flowing again and making me realize all about Chen Xi Wang is a torment because everytime I remember about him, my heart is hurt suddenly. Chen Xi Wang and I cannot be freed from this oath. This must become our curse in our life.

Today I woke up early because I have made a decision. I cannot be like this. I don't want to live in regret. I don't want to feel the pain. I don't want to meet Chen Xi Wang as well. Brother Xu has come back here so I can leave this place and I want to wander to another place.
I don't know how Brother Xu will react but I cannot stay here anymore. I think I can take care of myself. I am not the weak young girl anymore.
I met Brother Xu at the terrace. Brother Xu stared at me as if he knew what was in my head. He was just looking at the lotus pond.
"Brother Xu, I want to talk to you." I said.
"What?"
"I…"
"What I.." Brother Xu stared at me with his sharp gaze as if he wanted to investigate me.
"Brother Xu, I think this is the right time that I have to go."
"Shui Jing, this is your home, why do you have to go?"
"Brother, I need time to think all of these matters."
"But leaving this place is not an option."
"Brother, please let me go!"
I am kneeling in front of Brother Xu. I really cannot leave here anymore because Chen Xi Wang will find me here. I want to hide myself from that demon until I know what I should do.

"Brother please grant my wish!"

Back with John, he appears in this new place, where there were a lot of vampires around in a room. Then someone comes out of the shadow and looks that he was in charge, but then John recognizes this man.
 "Wait!! I know you! You are that mysterious man that I met back at the public carriage." Says John excited to know someone in the room.
 "Yes! Indeed, I am! Young doctor." Says the Mysterious Man seriously.
 "Who are you? And what is this place?" Ask John with the hope that this time he will answer his question.
 "Doctor John, my name is Marcus Cornivous and you, my friend are a newborn." Says Marcus and he said exactly what the other mysterious woman said to John, that he is a newborn.
 "Marcus Cornivous!? I never heard that name before. Wait! A newborn? That's what the other lady told me! Is she here!?" Said John asking many questions and eager to thank that mysterious woman that saved his life.
 Marcus got concern about what John said, so he asks.
 "What lady, John!?" Marcus Said concern.
 "Well she was like my height and she has a very pretty face, she also has red hair and a very seductive voice." John describes her as the best as he could.
 "Wait could it be... if it's who am think it is, could that mean a sign of The Great War!!" (Said Marcus Cornivous talking in his head)
 "So is she here or..." Before John could finish speaking, he was interrupted by Marcus.
 "No! She is not!" Yells Marcus raising his head a little bit with pride, and he smiles at John acting as if nothing bothers him.
 "Who are you describing is a general from Dracula!" Said Marcus with a little hatred in his voice when he mentions the name Dracula.
 "DRACULA!!" Says John extremely surprised.
 John laughs and denies Dracula existence.
 "Hahaha, wait, Dracula it's just a myth a barely legend to scare kids."
 Marcus sighs 
 "No, he's not, young doctor, but that's a subject for another time. So, my agent told me you fight an Ekon and you lost." Said Marcus very serious and changing the subject.
 Everyone in there laughs at John.
 "An Ekon!?" Ask John confused, not knowing what it means an Ekon.
 "An Ekon is a lower level vampire," Marcus explains.
 " A Vampire!!" Cry out, John.
 "Indeed, young doctor that's what we are and that's what you are." Said Marcus with the hope that he understands what he is now.
 "So, that explains a lot of things I guess, but I thought Vampires, Dracula was all just a legend." Said John with difficulty to believe in vampires and Dracula.
 "No young doctor, vampires are real." Said Marcus assuring John.
 "So, what's an Ekon?" Ask John eager to know what they are.
 "An Ekon young doctor it's a low-level vampire consume by its wrath." Explains Marcus.
 "Consume by its wrath?"
 "Indeed, young doctor it's when a vampire tries to "transform" another human into a vampire, but if that human it's consumed by its own wrath he transforms into our primitive form and we call it an Ekon." Explains Marcus with much more detail. 
 "That's a lot to take in." Said John still processing all the info that they gave him.
 "Am sure it is, hopefully, I could tell you more, but I need to argue with my brother, so if you excuse me." Said Marcus with a little laugh.
 "Your bother!? Who is he? What's his name?" Said John asking a lot of questions. 
 Marcus laughs.
 "Hahaha, his name is William, William Cornivous. I'll talk to you later and answer so many questions that you have. Bye young doctor." Said Marcus leaving the room and everyone else does the same except for the vampire that helped John to escape. He tells John that he needed to follow him.
 "Come on John, we need to prepare you." Said the Vampire Agent seriously.
 "Prepared me!? For what?" Ask John's concern.
 "So, you learn how to fight and kill the hunters." Said the vampire agent.
 "Are you out of your mind! I am a doctor I took an oath to save lives, Not taking them! And today I just broke that oath by killing two men in cold blood. I... I can't do it anymore." Said John sad and angry at the vampire agent.
 "Look, John! Am not your bloody babysitter all right, if you don't learn how to fight and kill does bloody hunters, you are going to die!!"
 "I don't care! You can teach me how to use my powers and how to defend myself from them, but that's it all right, that's it. I will never take another life."
 "Very well then, works for me." Agrees, the vampire agent.
 John starts training on how to use his new powers and to control it so he can never take another life. They start with the simple, his claws how to use it, then his speed and finally using a sword… although John was against it, the vampire agent forced him. Finally, they finished the basic lesson.
 "Well you know now the basic, enough to survive a hunter, but you need to practice more how to use your claws and your speed to your advantage." Said the vampire agent looking at some swords laying on a wooden table that is in front of him.
 "Look I already told you, am not going to..." Before he could finish his sentence, he was interrupted by the vampire agent.
 "This is not for you to kill a human it's to kill another vampire! All right." Cry out the vampire agent at John.
 "Another vampire!? What do you mean?" Ask John confused.
 "We are at war with the prince William Cornivous and his followers." Said the vampire agent disappointed.
 "William Cornivous!? But isn't that Marcus's brother? Why we are at war with them?" Ask John extremely concern.
 "Look, William thinks that we should make mankind suffer. This rage of him started right after the father of the two-prince left to another place that no one knows about, only the two brothers."
 "But what happened? Why he wants to make mankind suffer?"
 "Some people think that is because they have killed enough of us, others because he is just mad because of his father leaving, but no one knows; so please don't be so stubborn and learn how to use this gifts to kill another vampire all right." Said the vampire agent with a little anger in his voice.
 John then agrees to him to learn how to use this gifts, so he can defend himself from the vampires not killing them, but he is mostly concern that he is now a part of a war that he didn't know about.

This is a story about a young doctor called John Brown that came back to Londonfor some private family matters, but what the young doctor doens't know is that this night it's about to change his whole life.

Yep, all the paperworks finally official. No one can take her from us; shes our daughter. The name change has been submitted and everything.
Her poor mother. I thought all of the women Yema and the Don had captured were clean.
None of us knew she had HIV until it was too late. At least her daughterour daughterwill be taken care of. It was one less thing she had to worry about while passing.
Its just sad that our happiness came from someone dying.

Id once believed that the Master had taken everything from me. He had my mother murdered and made my life miserable growing up. He took my choices and happiness away for so many years. He even stole from me my chance to have my own children.
When Beau and I found out I wasnt able to have babies and it was due to past trauma, I felt a little less whole. I had finally begun to heal after all the pain, and then we heard from my doctor when we decided we wanted to have a baby. I know it hurt Beau inside too, even though he was strong for me and pretended it wasnt a big deal. It was. Family is everything to himto usand we couldnt have our own little family. The Master had once again taken a piece of my soul away from me, and he was long gonedead and unable to answer for his crimes.
Mariannas birth mother was one of the captives Beau helped rescue out of the Russian facility. No one knew she was pregnant; it had happened the day before Beau and his cousins showing up to save them all. When they brought her to America, they found out that not only was she carrying a baby but that she was HIV positive and had been exposed to the disease for a long time.
Apparently, shed tried to warn the men who stole her, but they didnt believe her. They thought it was just a made-up excuse. She was trying to stop the spread of the disease and ended up pregnant. Her sick body could barely handle the pregnancy.
The doctor begged her to terminate, but she swore it was the one positive thing to happen in her life as an adult and wouldnt give in. Her choice led us to helping to care for the baby once Marianna was born, and we fell completely in love with the perfect little bundle.
Wed put in to adopt her, but it took a long time since I didnt have any real documents that were easily attainable. Once they figured out who I was thanks to some expensive DNA testing and searching, we were able to file for a Visa and the full adoption of Marianna.
I thought with Beau my life was complete and then I laid my eyes on her and realized I didnt only have my oneI had two.
