With utmost enthusiasm, Lily invited Hao Ren to her place. The husky said that they needed proper planning to find a person, so she insisted on bringing Hao Ren to her home for dinner.
The dumb maiden made a blunder by going to Siberia instead of the city in the south. But her ability and will to survive in the wild was exceptional. After leaving the village, Lily found no rush to go to the south. While on the wrong way to the north, she frequently stopped to explore places that interested her. She would spend more time in one place if she found it fascinating. Due to these diversions, Lily had taken several years to reach Siberia.
For a werewolf maiden who came from a remote mountain village and had to suppress her true self, the journey in the wild was probably the happiest period of her life since birth.
Lily lived with a wolf pack and naturally remained far from the human world. There was a wooden cabin in the pine forest. A hunter used to stay there but was long gone at that point. There used to be other sporadic human settlements around the woods, but the snow had swallowed them all. Now, the cabin in the woods became a shelter for Lily.
The wolves had their place to stay around the wooden cabin. When Lily ordered them to dismiss, the beasts quickly disappeared into the woods. But Hao Ren could still sense their presence not far away as the wolf pack did not move more than 300 m away from the cabin. He could hear the wolves' growl in the wind occasionally. Lily pushed the door of the cabin open and invited her guest into the house.
The interior of the cabin was not what Hao Ren had imagined.
It looked old and even like it was about to collapse soon, but it was a different world inside the cabin—it was clean and tidy. Lily used animal skin as well as an old wooden board to seal the gaps in the wall, and planks to reinforce the rotten overhead beams. The hunter's hut was a very basic structure, divided into two partitions—the inner and external rooms. The inner room was used for food storage and living quarters, while the outer room was much like a kitchen stuffed with all kinds of clutter—a rusty ax, broken wheels, torn fur, and even an antique shotgun, the barrel of which had been rolled up like a ball of string. Apparently, it was the result of the husky using it as a hand exercise tool.
The clutter formed a small hill in the corner. Most of the stuff did not look like they belonged to the previous cabin owner. It seemed that they were more likely part of the husky's collection. Lily was a hoarder back then.
Lily noticed that Hao Ren's eyes were on the clutter in the corner. Instead of feeling embarrassed, she proudly said, "Oh, you've noticed that. That's my collection. Let me tell you, I rarely see people here, but a few people still pass by occasionally. These people usually carry all kinds of rare and interesting stuff with them. My wolf pack would monitor them from afar. When they spot anything interesting, they grab it from the humans and bring it back to me. But don't worry, I don't let them hurt those humans, just take some stuff from them."
Hao Ren finally understood what the wolf ambush earlier was all about. "The gray wolves were planning to rob me earlier?"
Lily scratched her head and put on a sly smile.
"I was almost robbed by a pack of wolves. Can you believe what just happened to me?" Hao Ren forced a smile. "They switched places and seemed to be in a formation. Did you teach them all of that?"
"It's the art of war. Do you know the art of war?" Lily began to boast. "There was a learned old man in our village. He told me that the art of war is a power tool. Zhuge Liang, the military strategist in the period of the Three Kingdoms, used stones to draw a formation and defeated 100,000 enemy troops. So I borrowed the comic version of the 'Romance of the Three Kingdoms' from the old man."
While she spoke, Lily took out a thread-bound book, which looked old and worn. Years of usage had worn the book's cover out, and there was no way to tell which volume it was from the cover. It was one of Lily's treasured possessions. "I had to beg the old gentleman for a long time before he lent me his book... Oops!"
"What's wrong?" Hao Ren asked.
Lily cried, "When I ran away from the village, I forgot to return this book to him."
"You're only remembering it now?"
"Ah, after finding your friend, I can sneak back into the village and return the book while I'm on my way to the city," the husky maiden said before she set the matter aside. "Let's have something to eat. After fighting with you, I'm starving."
Hao Ren looked on as Lily made a fire with flint and dried grass in the pit at the center of the cabin. She then took out a beaten old iron pot, stuffed it with snow, and put it on the fire. Once the snow melted, they would have a pot of hot water. Air-dried bacon was hanging on the beam. Lily broke a few small pieces and threw them into the pot. Together with some beans and grains, which she took out of nowhere, she made a hot pot of meat porridge. Lily ran to the back of the house and dug out two frozen salmons. After letting them thaw by the fire, she put them on a skewer and grilled the fish on the fire.
Lily did everything so skilfully and quickly that it dazzled Hao Ren.
The dog who was used to spoon-feeding actually possessed survival skills.
"The brown bear that lives nearby gave me the fish. He's an expert in catching fish. So I always trade other food items that I've hunted for his fish," Lily said as she stirred the meat porridge with a long iron spoon. "But seasoning is hard to come by. There is a saltwater lake far from here, where I can get salt. There's nothing else other than that, so you have to get used to it."
While watching Lily preparing the dinner, something crossed Hao Ren's mind. He quietly took a packed item out of his Dimensional Pocket. "Why don't you try this?" he asked.
Curious, Lily took the pack in her hands. She pinched and sniffed it. "What is this? Is it edible?"
"Peel away the plastic wrap," Hao Ren said with a smile. "It's a pack of Spicy Sticks. You'll like it."
Lily cautiously fiddled with the packaging for a long time before she clumsily removed the wrap. A thick and pungent smell instantly drifted into her nostrils. The husky put a strip into her mouth. "It tastes like noodles. It's delicious!"
Sure enough, the love of Spicy Sticks was in her DNA.
In no time, Lily had finished half a pack of Spicy Sticks. She then suddenly stopped. "I have to save the rest. It can be used as a seasoning for the porridge."
"You can eat as much as you like. I have plenty," Hao Ren said and laughed.
Lily looked at Hao Ren curiously. "How did you conjure this thing up? Where have you hidden the things that you used to treat the wounded wolves? Do you know magic?"
"This is my ability," Hao Ren said. He knew that it was a period in Lily's life where he could easily fudge his way through. "Just as you can become a powerful half-wolf, half-human, I can conjure a variety of things."
"Can you conjure Zhuge Liang, the one who knows to execute the stone formation."
"I don't think you understand what I mean," Hao Ren said.
"What about Zhang Fei, the general? I want to see who's stronger between him and me."
"I don't think that's necessary. Needless to say, you are the strongest in history. Nobody could have done what you've done by swinging the stone column in the Temple of Athena like a propeller."
"Athena what?"
"You have many questions," Hao Ren said.
"Oh, then I should stop asking," Lily said, pursing her lips. But after a few seconds, she turned around again and asked, "What about the propeller?"
"Let's talk about our search plan, shall we?" Hao Ren said.
One had to watch out when chatting with the husky; she was highly divergent in conversations. Hao Ren should have remembered this. After all, he had known her for three years.

In this world, virtually all of the species that it houses are capable of gathering mana, the essence of magic, in their bodies. In spite of that actuality, for humans, only a thousandth of a percent can use that very mana freely.




The deciding factor for eligibility is the presence of a grimoire in the soul core; a book whose physical form can be materialized through the owner's will. Pages that are torn from a grimoire are usually harnessed as a base material in making scrolls. Furthermore, the parchment's colour will dictate what Cixu is the most appropriate to be integrated in it. The existence of these scrolls can authorize those who are not in authority of a grimoire to wield mana.




The collection of spells are termed Cixu, and there are fourteen of them. In each Cixu, there are six tiers, 1st being the highest.




The fourteen Cixu are distinguished by their attributes.
Arzata, which embodies aseity, the absolute self-sufficiency;
Hedesha, embracing eternality;
Parlouver, seizing immanence, limiting one to their possible experiences or knowledge;
Yerenth, to show the graciousness of one's heart;
Ezvetra, spreading love to those who are lacking and wicked;
Fihro, to be devoted to the mission;
Meshantrui, seeking to be veiled in mystery;
Bester, having providence, the abundance of divine guidance;
Grolier, the power to be righteous;
Verita, a sovereign's virtue, to dominate influence;
Ohlvas, the state of being transcendent, exceeding one's limit;
Heshetra, to be voracious, endlessly insatiable;
Ikhratos, to harbour wrath;
Nerius, the blank slate where the unclassified are gathered.




Upon birth, an individual who is gifted with a grimoire has one guaranteed Cixu that they could access up to the 3rd tier. In addition to their bestowed Cixu, they can utilize the 6th and 5th tier spells of the other thirteen collections. Achieving a higher synchronization of the mind, body, heart, and soul with the grimoire will enable them to assimilate a more powerful tier in a certain Cixu.


Seasoned magicians have spells in their repertoire that have the characteristics of multiple Cixu, amplifying the enchantments' efficiency. For example, the spell that Mikhail casted on the Empress belongs in the 2nd tier of the combined attributes Hedesha, Fihro, Bester, Ohlvas. This fact also entails that Mikhail Percival, commander of the Knights of the Round Table, has complete mastery over multiple Cixu.

The collection's name is Deo Ashantra, symbolizing the attributes omnipotence, omniscience, and omnipresence. Deo Ashantra is the Cixu that contains the power of the Gods.




The Emperor threw Mikhail a scathing glare, which alerted the latter. The knight was aware of how foolish he was being, but he has this supposition that the objective will be his saving grace.




"Cease your stubbornness right this instant, Mikhail Percival. I will not let you off a second time." - It was the Emperor's final notice; his tone said it all.




"Your Majesty, Vraxhen Riol Ferashnevrin is a spell replicating immortality. However, it's slowly taking control of the Empress' body. We need to counter it with a spell that is as potent."




When he ascertained the light in the Monarch's eyes faltering, albeit slightly, Percival knew that he divulged the right information. He wanted to smile in victory, yet restrained himself out of his barely acceptable tact.




Meanwhile, the Emperor dropped his gaze as he pondered on what Mikhail said.




'Immortality? Is it perhaps-?' - He cut off his self-deliberation and quickly faced the knight.




"As it happens, the scroll had been long absorbed by my grimoire. Also, nobody can exploit this spell, with the exception of the current owner."




"Well, you simply have to come with us then, Your Majesty. I believe that you can make time to visit the Soltis palace."




"No."




It was a rejection from His Majesty bereft of hesitancy, managing to enkindle his retainers' curiosity.




"Didn't you tell us to exercise any methods? It's the Empress' life that we're talking about here."




"No, what I mean is--", the Emperor attempted to explain himself. Withal, Mikhail readily intercepted it.




"Aren't we indebted to Her Highness? You scolded Sarakiel for his initial reluctance, but here you are doing something similar. How hypocritical.", Percival ended his speech with a sneer for an added mockery.




In the middle of the altercation, Zelel peered at Mikhail as he cringed word-after-word that came out of the man's mouth.




'I swear. Lord Percival is the sole person who has the guts to guilt trip His Majesty.' - He spoke in his mind, deliberating on whether to admire or feel apologetic of the courageous.




The Emperor soughed as he sat back on his cushioned seat. Subsequently, he anchored his head with the left arm that he planted on the armrest.




"Mikhail Percival, I can see that you adore forming assumptions regarding my circumstances; very audacious of you.", the man stated sans any emotion, since he's accustomed to this loquacious propensity of the knight.




"And no, I'm not reticent of participating. I was nigh in acquainting you of the reason for my refusal. The Empress and I had an agreement."




The ears of his underlings perked up upon harking a novel news, including Sarakiel who has calmed down, They remained silent while waiting for the continuation.




"The sole condition that we agreed on was apparent and didn't involve anything vigorous. The moment I see her on my own accord, she will renounce her position as the Empress. Her intellectual ability is a vital asset of this empire."




The reaction of the three men scarcely differed, bewildered borderline fearful. They scrambled for a clarification inside their constricted brains, but their understanding of the matter was limited. Hence, they drafted some questions for their incoming interrogation of the Emperor.




"Did you ask Her Highness of the rationale behind her request?" - Mikhail started the inquiry. His eyebrows were furrowed as he lingered in a state of mental uncertainty.




"I'm sentient enough to notice that you're all brimming with queries. Howbeit, we are pressed for time. Zelel, the siblings of the Kishnar Duchy are aware of this agreement. Ask for their approval, so that I can meet the Empress."




When he minded the Emperor's command, a great feeling of apprehension assaulted the minister.




"Your Majesty, concerning Her Highness' handmaidens, uhh-", Duke Claudas groaned. He was bothered by his uncertain findings, yet he's afraid that the Emperor might take immediate action.




Zelel ruminated on how to enlighten His Majesty absent angering him.




"It's nothing, Your Majesty. I will ask them directly first thing in the morning."




"Very well, the three of you can now leave. You have some researching to do."




Although it was a waste of a chance to satisfy their meddlesome minds, the retainers ceded it. They bowed afore the Monarch and bid their farewell.




"As you wish, Your Majesty. We will head straight to the Soltis palace at the 3rd Tuor."




The Emperor nodded once as an acknowledgement. And with that, Mikhail, Sarakiel, and Zelel departed the study.

As he descended the carriage, Zelel felt goosebumps all over his body once he looked at the building. The palace seemed oppugnant of their presence and appeared outlandish without any source of light to illuminate it.




The two knights, Mikhail and Sarakiel, who have gotten habituated of the place's oppressive aura hurriedly sauntered the uneven pathway en route the main entrance, leaving the minister behind.




The instant they reached the door, Duke Helian raised his right hand to knock on it. However, the double doors were suddenly opened before his knuckle could even touch the door. The twin maids revealed themselves behind the aperture, implying that they have anticipated the arrival of the three.




"A good dier to the respected Lords."




"Greetings."




"Yes, we greet you as well. Can we proceed immediately?", Mikhail said with excitement. He expected that they would accede forthwith. Withal, their response was divergent altogether.

Nodding with satisfaction regarding the finished product that pooled at the base of the black iron wok, the young girl commanded the fire to diminish after simmering the solution for another sichen.

The cheery flame crackled in delight at the young girl's command, the golden flames leaping to emboss their heat into the essence of the wok.

An Fei sat down onto the ground nearby the black wok, a book splayed open before her.

As the young girl continued to read, the fragrance of lemongrass intensified with each passing moment, until the medicine garden appeared to have grown a sea of the herb.

Amidst the raging currents of colored light and temperature rampaging throughout the medicine garden, the faint rustling of pages could be heard, and the muted cracks of fiery sparks splashing against the surface of a cast iron wok.

"This… never emphasized on the type of rouge to implement as the foundation…" the young girl murmured in a low voice, her right index finger tapping on her bottom lip.

"I replaced the so-called Twilight Nocturn with a combination of angelica and parsley… but will it truly create a cosmetic? Aren't the two herbs supposed to be consumed? What even is the Twilight Nocturn, it looks like a shred of goldleaf…"

The book before An Fei was a simple introductory to the study of cosmetics and their applications.

By its name, the book was supposed to define the basic ingredients constituting the foundational cosmetics that could be found anywhere on the streets… but An Fei's consciousness was already swamped by the time she flipped towards the twentieth page.

Just as the young girl parted her lips to release an agonizing scream, the final crackle of the fire lit underneath the cast iron wok shrieked to attain her attention, the piercing cry resonating throughout the entire medicine garden.

In her excitement, the book that would have charmed countless young women was casually left on the fabric-covered ground, the pages devoid of the minimum honor of closing the book to protect its contents.

"I want to see, I want to see!"

The young girl chanted as she rushed to the black iron wok, peering into its contents with a sparkling countenance.

At the bottom of the wok, just as An Fei had expected, lay a pool of rich green liquid, translucent and gleaming with a faint indigo radiance.

The scent of lemongrass was muted and suppressed to the surface of the liquid, no longer as profuse as before. When An Fei took a brief sniff, the faint fragrance was enough for her to clench her fingers in satisfaction.

What came next was quite obvious, yet unthinkable for others.

The young girl wrapped her arms around the black iron wok, her countenance blooming into a contented smile at the warm temperature of the material.

Her heart beamed with praise towards the fire that belonged to the Sanctum, for it had regulated the temperature of the wok to the extent that a heartwarming surge of heat rushed through the entire body on contact, but did not burn the skin.

Praiseworthy, and perfect indeed.

An Fei hummed as she hauled the cast iron wok towards the boudoir, bypassing the alluring bedchamber and rushing straight into the bathroom.

There, ignoring the transparent, steaming water that filled the massive tub to the brim that tempted her soul for a quick bath, she poured the green liquid in without remorse.

The green tide seemed to have possessed an unquenchable thirst as it permeated every region of the inlaid bathtub, transforming the entire container of water into a lake of sparkling, translucent green liquid.

The repressed fragrance of lemongrass broke free from its restraints and rushed forth to envelop every centimeter of the room, tickling An Fei's feverish nose with the highly inviting and excitatory scent.

The young girl took a deep breath, her fingers hooking at the collar of her gown with a hint of hesitation.

With the right foot extending forward, An Fei walked down the leading steps into the depths of the bathtub, her body shivering from the onslaught of the bone-piercing heat and trepidation towards what would happen next.

The young girl tapped her brow with her right index finger, muttering to herself in an unintelligible voice.

And without any further hesitation, the rest of her body submerged into the bath of green liquid, allowing herself to drift to the center of the bathtub where she could fully stand underwater.

An Fei forced herself to remain underwater for a few breaths, only daring to resurface when her lungs anxiously asked her brain whether she was suicidal.

She was not!

"Pah!"

The young girl's body was covered in a multitude of droplets of sweat and green solution as her upper half escaped the hot underwater massage.

Rubbing at her eyes, the pair of scarlet irises quickly cleared away their confused glint, to be replaced by shock.

Her skin… had transformed.

The milky-white color of her fair skin had been replaced with a pale mixture of yellow and hazel, a tone more accustomed to that of the indigenous tribes Wei Xuan had once mentioned.

When An Fei carefully observed her appearance from the rippling bathwater, the young girl concluded that her skin tone matched with the girls she had once seen in the southern regions of Guangxi; perhaps she appeared as one of Nanning's young women?

The texture of her skin had transformed from the soft, creamy sensation of warm mutton jade to a slightly rougher sensation, though the softness and delicacy of feminine charm remained.

When An Fei pinched her arm, she couldn't help but sigh at the differences between her current appearance and her previous, heaven-defying physique.

The young girl anxiously perched herself onto the edge of the bathtub to escape the visual distortion of the hot water, her fingers running over every nook and cranny of her body as though to confirm the completion of the disguise.

The young girl patted her bosom as though to increase her confidence, then changed into more defensive clothing and draped the linen coat around her body, leaving the Sanctum with the twin butterfly swords and the qama serving as her loyal sentinels.

Yip!?

The instant her right foot transgressed past the dividing barrier of the world to step onto the sea of grass of the wide plains, two completely baffled and startled cries drilled into her ears.

The young girl softly yelped as her hand shot to her ears, a fierce scowl slamming into the weak hearts of the little raven and the small fox.

"What, you haven't seen a disguise before?"

An Fei raised a challenging eyebrow towards the valiant and prideful creature, finally causing him to submit since their encounter in the Wu Ji Forest.

Caw!

The little raven nearly lost control and revealed a pair of violet irises, the sentient immortal gaping with disbelief.

As it was unable to even control its beak in its shock, much less its body, the young girl had to grab the little creature by its claws and shove it towards her left shoulder.

This… wasn't the irresistibly beautiful little human lass he had seen daily for the past few months?

With this astonishingly descript and ordinary appearance… she was more akin to a pretty dancer in Bai Xing's domain, perhaps any of the mortal domains within the Realm.

The little raven couldn't suppress its dumbfounded shock as it continued to gaze at An Fei's countenance from aside, its pride completely flattened and shattered.

"What are you looking at, ah?" the young girl brought the small fox into her bosom, her index finger tapping the feathery creature on its head.

"Enough, that person seems to be preparing to head back to where he came from. It's better to chase now than wander in this unusual plains, no?"

"A mirror?" she wondered, rubbing the smooth surface with her slender fingers. "What's so special about it? It looks so ordinary."


"Just not a plain mirror," replied the grandfather. His gaze distant, his voice was hoarse as he explained. "It'll change your life to the deepest core. Here, since it is your sixteenth birthday, I'll pass it to you as a present."


"How will it change anything?" she retorted, tapping the pristine yet dull surface. "You must be joking! Always prancing about how I need to be more vain, so mean!"


"You will see in due time," was the reply. 



You will see in due time. Just how a single, useless mirror will change your life in many ways unexpected by anyone.


Grandfather was indeed correct. An Fei could not help but admit it. The mirror had completely changed her life, just as he had said.

Only, was she presented hell, or a new life?

Cultivating in the Undying World was a possibility, especially with the heaps of immortal crystals Mo Wuji had with him. However, there was a downside to this: the five elements were incomplete. One day, while Mo Wuji was refining a Grade 5 immortal long sword, Yu Jingfeng, who usually did not disturb him, knocked on his door. Yu Jingfeng was a young man of good character and morals. After knowing that Jingfeng was the one who saved him, Mo Wuji had even considered accepting him as his disciple. However, Mo Wuji hesitated, as he did not know whether imparting techniques to Yu Jingfeng would benefit him or harm him instead.
After staying at Divergent Immortal Village for so long, Mo Wuji had begun to understand the lives of Yu Jingfeng and his grandfather. They could not cultivate to become immortals, but led fulfilling lives without any boring days, frequently encountering surprises in the Extreme Glade Sea.　　
If he allowed Yu Jingfeng to cultivate, it could very well disrupt the peace and balance in his life. Moreover, after he leaves the village, Yu Jingfeng might perish while gathering resources for cultivation. In comparison, leading a simple life may not have been that bad after all.

He is out with sister in law now, which is why I had the chance to come and talk to you in the first place," Jingfeng said in a flurry as he stood at the door.
"It’s only been a month, but you’ve grown quite a bit" Mo Wuji remarked as he invited Jingfeng in. Yu Cheng and Lian Yingxian were indeed not at home. Even though Jingfeng often said that he admired and idolised Mo Wuji, Wuji himself felt that the admiration was a result of Yu Cheng’s teachings.
Wuji no longer shrouded himself with the caution that he once did, as after such a long time, he felt that the differences between immortals and mortals were insignificant.
"Hey, I’m already 14, and seafaring helps me train my physique as well," Jingfeng replied as he earnestly rubbed his own head.
"Where have your grandfather and sister in law gone to?" Wuji asked as he gestured for Jingfeng to sit.
"They’ve gone to Extreme Glade City to get the Thousand Fusing Rice. It’s the harvesting season for it now," Jingfeng said without a second thought.
Mo Wuji knew about Extreme Glade City – In the region of the Extreme Glade Sea there were many villages similar to Divergent Immortal Village, between these villages, there needed to be a set location for the purpose of trade, which led to the formation of Extreme Glade City. Everyone in the villages would come here if they needed to buy anything, and the immortal energy in the air here was as scarce as it was in the other parts of the region.　　
Even though Ji Ke City was a City for mortals in name, there were some cultivators here as well, as the city was, in reality, co-inhabited by low level immortals and mortals. However, the immortals here were either talentless, or were severely limited in their ability to cultivate.
The Thousand Fusing Rice could only be planted in areas near Extreme Glade City, and was the rice ate by most of the regular beings. Every time harvesting season came, all the people living around Extreme Glade City would bring the unique produce from their respective villages and exchange them for Thousand Fusing Rice.
"Jingfeng, your sister in law is gorgeous, I don’t think there are many in this village who can compare to her beauty," Wuji suddenly said while grinning.
Perhaps having sensed Wuji’s relaxed disposition, Jingfeng eased into the conversation. At this point of time, he had completely forgotten that his grandfather once told him that Wuji was an immortal cultivator, and that there were taboos that they could not violate.
"Big brother, it’s not only Divergent Immortal Village, not anyone in Extreme Glade City could match up to my sister in law’s beauty. Have you perhaps fallen for her? But... she has no spiritual roots, it would be impossible for her to cultivate."

Another few years passed, and people in the village were saying that something bad had happened to my brother while he was out venturing. When the rumours proved to be true, my grandfather allowed sister in law to go home, even giving her the liberty to decide whether she would remarry or not. She has been very kind to us, often dropping by to visit us because she’s worried for grandfather."
"What about your parents?" Wuji asked.
Jingfeng got a little teary.
"Not long after I was born, they got into an accident at sea and never returned."
Mo Wuji sighed.
No matter how safe the Extreme Glade ocean was, it was still a sea in the immortal world, and seafarers would inexplicably face some form of danger.
"What happened to your aunt then? Has she always lived in Divergent Immortal Village? Was she older or younger than your brother?" Wuji asked.
In reality, Mo Wuji was only asking this much for one sole reason - to find out more about Lian Yingxian’s background and history. In his opinion, a Grand Luo immortal, even a genius at that, had to train for a few hundred years before achieving such prowess that Yingxian possessed.
Jingfeng grinned and chuckled, " Big brother, my sister in law is not even thirty yet, if you indeed have feelings for her, my grandfather would definitely approve, I would be happy if you married her!"
Wuji sneered in his mind.
He knew that it was not possible.
"We’ll talk more about his next time, don’t get the wrong idea. Before this, I even thought she was at least 40!"
Still forgetting the fact that Wuji was an immortal, Jingfeng hastily refuted.
"Impossible! What poor judgement you have big brother, my parents and her’s were the best of friends, when she was born, my parents even went to congratulate them!"
Wuji was taken aback by this fact, could it be possible that a person, not even at the age of thirty yet, could reach the later level of Grand Luo Immortal? Even with possession it would seem absurd.
"It must be a mistake on Jingfeng’s part," he thought to himself.
Wuji did not plan on inquiring further, and without even asking about her parents, he decided to change the subject.
"So, Jingfeng, what was it that you wanted to speak to me about?"
It was only at this moment Jingfeng recalled why he was here. Patting the back of his head, he revealed,
"Uhm.. It goes like this big brother, a month ago I caught a Red Herring, and today I went back to the place I caught it in search for more, but before I even got close, a blinding ray of white light rose from the depths of the ocean. Several white lights emerged, and an object shot out from within them, eventually landing in my boat."
While speaking, Jingfeng took out a bunch of broken pieces and passed them to Wuji.
"This is it," Jingfeng said.
Array flag? Mo Wuji knew what they were once he received the pieces from Jingfeng. These pieces were as old as time, and even Wuji didn’t know when they were made.
　　


Here, only those with spiritual roots can cultivate while those with mortal roots are destined to stay mortal.

This is my first novel I'm writing so I ask that you bear with me 😅. I've had this concept in my head for a few weeks now and I finally feel like I have the gist down. So I hope you guys enjoy! 

Oh and also before I forget none of this is to be copied or published on any other social media site. Please don't steal my book or my ideas please ! 
Also I know this book sounds a lot like the Avatar, the last Airbender and Divergent. I admit they are similar , but only in the beginning. The ideas and concept of this story are completely different from both stories. 
Once you start reading more you'll notice that they are completely different.

In a dystopian world divided into four sectors filled with werewolves, vampires, witches and affinity , you’d think it’d be hard to find yourself and find your purpose.

The Book Collection Pavilion, a four-storey tower, was where the Sus stored scrolls of martial arts.
Before Su Mo had awakened his Martial Soul, he could only study the elementary martial arts on the first floor. Now that he had awakened his Martial Soul, and his cultivation was at Lv 1 Qi Cultivation Realm, he could choose cultivation skill and martial skill suited for him.
There were nine levels of cultivation skill and martial skill.
Each level was divided into three grades: Lower, Medium, and Upper.
Martial artists who used higher grade cultivation skill were naturally more powerful.
"Elder, I want to choose a scroll on the second floor," Su Mo said, saluting the pavilion protector as he stepped into the Book Collection Pavilion. 
"The second floor?"
The pavilion protector, a fat old man, said indifferently, "Su Mo, the second floor can only be accessed by those whose cultivation is at the Qi Cultivation Realm. No exceptions."
"I know that, elder. My cultivation is at Lv 1 Qi Cultivation Realm," Su Mo nodded and said.
"Lv 1 Qi Cultivation Realm?" The pavilion protector was stunned. Then, he said with a cold expression, "Su Mo, you just awakened your Martial Soul yesterday, and it was at Rank 1 Human Class. How could you be at the Qi Cultivation Realm so soon with that crappy Martial Soul? Even if you had a Rank 3 Human Class Martial Soul, it wouldn't be possible. Are you kidding me?"
"Humph! You'll see!"
Su Mo released an aura of Lv 1 Qi Cultivation Realm with a serious expression.
Then, he turned around and went up to the second floor of the Book Collection Pavilion, leaving the pavilion protector behind.
"He... he did it!"
The pavilion protector was stunned, but then he laughed disdainfully and said to himself, "The Master must have given him some precious elixir, but he still won't be able to go much further with his crappy Martial Soul."
Su Mo went to the second floor and saw rows of antique bookshelves, which were full of scrolls.
The Sus was one of two main clans in Sunnywood City, so they had many cultivation skills and martial skills. There were almost 100 scrolls on the second floor of the Book Collection Pavilion.
A tall young man was browsing the scrolls there.
"Su Mo!"
The young man was initially surprised to see Su Mo, but then he glared at him with complete disdain.
"Su Heng!" Su Mo glanced back at him.
Su Heng also awakened a Martial Soul yesterday. His Martial Soul was of Rank 4 Human Class Martial Soul, which was not as good as Su Yu's, but a high rank nonetheless.
Since Su Heng was on the second floor, his cultivation must have also reached the Qi Cultivation Realm.
"Well, this is unexpected, Su Mo. I heard yesterday that the Master bought a 'Qi Condensation Elixir' from the Herbs Shop, which is probably what you used to increase your cultivation!"
Su Heng looked at Sumo and said disdainfully, "Otherwise, you wouldn't even be able to reach the Qi Cultivation Realm with that crappy Rank 1 Human Class Martial Soul."
"It's none of your business how I got this cultivation," Su Mo said coldly. Then, he began to browse the manuals and ignored him.
Su Mo knew Su Heng very well.
When Su Mo was still considered the top genius of the Sus, Su Heng had fawned on him, and Su Mo had been very kind to him.
However, Su Heng now had a completely different attitude towards Su Mo.
"Humph! So much for being a genius. You're nothing but a piece of trash!" Su Heng snorted and continued selecting his manuals. 
Su Mo picked up a manual in the cultivation skill category and began reading it.
"Raging Fire Skill. Medium Lv 1 Cultivation Skill. The Genuine Qi cultivated through this method has extremely powerful fire power and has a very strong attack..."
Su Mo continued to browse after reading a few pages of this book.
He wanted to read a few more manuals to choose the most suitable cultivation skill.
All of the manuals on this floor were at Medium Lv 1. The manuals of Upper Lv 1 were only on the third floor.
However, those manuals were only available for those whose cultivation was at Lv 7 Qi Cultivation Realm.
"Huge Rock Skill. Medium Lv 1 cultivation skill. The Genuine Qi cultivated through this method is dense and has strong defense..."
"Clouds Skill. Medium Lv 1 cultivation skill. The Genuine Qi cultivated through this method is pure and has equally strong attack and defense..."
After reading several manuals, Su Mo selected Cloud Skill because of its pure genuine Qi and strong attack and defense.
After choosing a cultivation skill, it was time to choose a martial skill.
"Iron Fist. This fistplay is fierce and can easily crack open stones after practicing to the great Completion Realm... "
"Flying Swordplay. This swordsmanship is ethereal, agile, and gorgeous..."

Su Mo was not satisfied with a dozen martial skills that he read.

Su Mo's eyes brightened when he saw the name of this manual. He could recognize that it was extraordinary.

Su Mo scoffed and said, "The book is mine now, so you're not getting it."
"Are you sure?" Su Heng's eyes grew cold, and he said, "Su Mo, do you know what the consequences of angering me are?"
"What consequences?" Su Mo smiled and said, "I have no idea. Please tell me."
"You're a piece of trash, but you're still so arrogant." Su Heng shouted furiously, "Su Mo, I'll say it again. Give it to me, kneel, and apologize, or I'll break your legs."
"Kneel and apologize, or you'll break my legs?"
A cold light flashed in Su Mo's eyes, and he said indifferently, "I'd like to see you try!"
"You're courting death!"
Su Heng shouted, and his spirit of Lv 1 Qi Cultivation Realm exploded. A yellow light shone behind him, which meant that he was arousing his Martial Soul to attack.
"Stop it!"
At that moment, the pavilion protector said with an icy voice, "No fighting in the Book Collection Pavilion, or you'll be banned for life!"
These words stopped Su Heng.
"Elder, I'm sorry. I won't violate the rules," Su Heng said hastily to the elder, stifling his anger.
Even though he wanted to teach Su Mo a lesson, Su Heng did not dare to violate the rules.
It would be a great loss if he was banned from the Book Collection Pavilion for life.
"Today is your lucky day. I won't let you off next time," Su Heng turned to Su Mo and snarled.
"Idiot!" Su Mo glanced at him and turned to leave.
"What did you say?"
Su Heng became furious again. He glared at the leaving Su Mo and gnashed his teeth in anger.
Since he had awakened a Rank 4 Human Class Martial Soul, his status had risen a lot in the Sus, and others were polite to him.
Today, he was insulted by this useless man with a crappy Martial Soul, and that drove him mad.

It was at this time that Su Mo meets the love of his life but the situation quickly deteriorates when she is taken by one of the most powerful forces in the world. Su Mo must rise from the lowest of the low and reach the pinnacle of power in order to save the love of his live within five years or she will forever be out of his reach.


The bookstore looks quite rundown with the paints peeling of the walls. The bookstore has a sign at the side on the entrance but the words were quite faded and were unreadable.

Entering the bookstore, Volum found no one inside the book store. Still he entered the store and decided to browse through all the collection of the books.

The bookstore was apparently those kinds of store that was bigger in the inside despite the outward appearance of the store. The inside was also of a better condition than the outside as proven by the tidiness of the store. 

Walking through the book store, Volum discovered that the bookstore has a wide variety of collection from biology, history, geography, fantasy, science-fiction, philosophy and much more. He also noticed a section of self-defence and entertained the thought of beating Jon up but looking at his feeble body and the fact that Jon always has his army of underlings with him, he decided not to risk it.

He kept on looking at all the various collection and came across the [Magic] section of the bookstore where the books range from [Dummy Guide to Golem], [Apothecary 101], [Diving the Future] and many other books. Despite a firm believer of science, Volom was still quite interested in magic and had a certain attraction to the term 'Magic'. 

Although he knew it was impossible, he was imagining all sorts of methods he could use to harm Jon using the magic in the books that he could use such as cursing him, making a voodoo doll out of him or even making do something foolish in the public which will destroy his reputation in society. 

Looking through all the books that are in the store, he came across a book that was bound in leather and had a magic circle on it with a heptagram on it. Looking at the spine of the book, he saw the title of the book that states [Solomon's Key]. Being a Magic nerd, he knew the significance of the name Solomon and was immediately interested in it. 

Looking at it, he knew that he had to buy it. The impulse of buying it, the wanting of the book and the desire all build up and Volom knew that he had to get the book. He brought the book to the cashier who had the appearance of an old man and ask the price of the book.

"It will be $300. Please pay up."

Hearing the price made his mind blow up and start cursing inside of him but with all his desire that scream that he had to get the book, he decided to buy the book with the money in his card despite the fact that the money is supposed to last him for the month.

Volom happens to chance upon a grimoire and is chased by people who wish to snatch the grimoire back.
