22 "In my dream I saw seven heads of grain, full and good, growing on a single stalk. 23 After them, seven other heads sprouted—withered and thin and scorched by the east wind. 24 The thin heads of grain swallowed up the seven good heads. I told this to the magicians, but none of them could explain it to me."

25 Then Joseph said to Pharaoh, "The dreams of Pharaoh are one and the same. God has revealed to Pharaoh what he is about to do. 26 The seven good cows are seven years, and the seven good heads of grain are seven years; it is one and the same dream. 27 The seven lean, ugly cows that came up afterward are seven years, and so are the seven worthless heads of grain scorched by the east wind: They are seven years of famine.

28 "It is just as I said to Pharaoh: God has shown Pharaoh what he is about to do. 29 Seven years of great abundance are coming throughout the land of Egypt, 30 but seven years of famine will follow them. Then all the abundance in Egypt will be forgotten, and the famine will ravage the land. 31 The abundance in the land will not be remembered, because the famine that follows it will be so severe. 32 The reason the dream was given to Pharaoh in two forms is that the matter has been firmly decided by God, and God will do it soon.

Cole descended rickety staircase that let down from the attic. The mission window transparent and useable by anyone but him, with innate understanding he shoved the mission away. He was contemplating over his choices.

'Wouldn't Neutral be the smartest route?' He queried inwardly. Realistically, he could gain both rewards for hero and those for villain. He knew Alignments were comparable to his charisma, the way others-namely those empowered perceived him was wholly based upon it. He needed the money, the shop function will unlock when he actually have some, everything has a cost, the only free lunches he'll get will be upon completion of missions.

Admittedly, he didn't have much of a moral compass nor did he personally claim some religious high-ground. He did wonder briefly what his old self. Cole of vanilla earth would have done, just maybe he wasn't a great guy, it can also be assumed he was some priest or an officer of the law, he shrugged his shoulder. When the times of decision comes his gut will have to be the vote that count.

The first floor of Carmichael's was loud with chattering of a dozen or so kids, each and everyone troubled. His discerning eyes landed on the brooding teen inside the den; Ricky Marco, kleptomaniac. 

The girl speaking into his ear was beautiful, beautiful as a human sized  Venus flytrap. Her face held  traces of schadenfreude, no doubt whatever was being whispered wasn't mutually satisfy. Like him she was newer tenant. Her name lost to him, he only had memories of hearing  she was a firebug and she is still under suspicion of burning down her last placement home family that wanted adopt her. 

He sniffed the air, catching the breeze from the open window as it traveled passed her, she smelled of kerosene, and her pockets were filled with matches, to be precise, the brand was called  Dirty Ash. Definitely, a pyromaniac in the making.

A hand slammed on his shoulder as his mind was enraptured in ideal investigation, no doubt his ability working unconsciously. He wondered is this what the bat experienced? 

"Twerp," said the fat man arriving out the kitchen, dirty white apron that told tales of weeks of going without a washing. He rolled his shoulder, it was slight, almost unconscious action of his part but enough to cast the man hand away. Their eyes met and the man squinted as confusion briefly surfaced but past memories found purchase. 

"Ballsy this morning," said Mama Carmichael's natural born son, he was the youngest and the fattest out of the three, he was almost a full head taller then Cole. "Ma' told me about your tardiness last night, don't need to tell ya again, try and run and I'm breaking your fucking leg like a twig." 

I scanned over his body and determined a well placed blow to the solar-plexus would cause him to lean forward, my knee traveling moderately into his chin will snap his head backward before a sudden clap to both ears will render him unconscious...

"Are you dumb and deaf? I said get the fuck out of here. No breakfast for you until the damn government check clear; go beg on the streets." He said loudly startling the other children. He waddled off mumbling about bureaucracy and what he's not being paid to do.

I looked around at the children snickering at my situation. Klepto and Pyro regarding me closely. Without care I exit the door, leaving the hustle and bustle of the group home behind. 

The group home was situated in the seedier parts of lower-manhattan, on the outskirts of  Hell's Kitchen. The only nice thing  near was the Rockefeller building, and the notable famous Central Park zoo. Jermey hasn't been near either. Though one could just about see the Stark Tower from the high school, also it seemed Jeremy attended Midtown high.

New York City is big, I mean massive, it's equivalent to an ant colony, drones walking aimlessly to-and-fro. It consisted of  5 boroughs sitting where the Hudson River meets the Atlantic Ocean. At its core is Manhattan, a densely populated borough that's among the world's major commercial, financial and cultural centers. Its iconic sites include skyscrapers such as the Empire State Building and sprawling Central Park. Broadway theater is staged in neon-lit Times Square.

The noise was another thing, it was loud and always louder at night, the city that never sleeps. I chuckled loudly at that part. 

I waited for the train to arrive but my attention was drawn the two darkly dressed Asian men. Between the two was a teenage girl, seemly no older then myself, she to looked of Asian descent, though her nose and slight musculature noted to some European ancestry.  

How they were half carrying half dragging her across the pavement told me she was unwilling. Scanning around I notice people chose to ignore what was before them. 

The three figures vanished down a older seedier street no doubt one without cctv and me looking at my watch, 6:45AM. The train late, I cast my eyes back toward the dark path. 

Fuck it! 

Maybe there's some talking to be had. With a single step,  I made a decision, my first in this world, undoubtedly, not my last.

Cole Stephens, a unmentionable man from earth perishes only to awaken inside the body of a recently deceased teen. He quickly learns he has been transplanted into the Marvel Universe with a system.

Tian Shenyi's stature was as tall as Jiang Chen, and they both had an attractive look. However, it was a pity that everyone couldn't help but loathe Tian Shenyi due to his haughty expression. It was especially the case for Jiang Chen and Yiya.
Some people might like Tian Shenyi due to his great fighting prowess but not because of his personality.
"Don't you have eyes?" Jiang Chen looked at the corpse of the Divine Recluse Clan woman and spoke rudely. Jiang Chen had just read aloud the scripture in front of this person and purified the evil spirit. Everyone with a discerning eye could see it clearly!
"Humph, you are just putting on an act. What ability does the likes of you have that allowed you to find evil spirits and purify them?" Tian Shenyi said.
"How do you explain what happened a moment ago?" Yiya questioned him.
The people in the vicinity nodded. Everyone was still exclaiming in admiration due to Jiang Chen's great skill, and they all couldn't understand what Tian Shenyi was implying.
"Evil spirits can detect each other, and they can obviously kill each other," Tian Shenyi said. When such words echoed out, everyone had a great reaction, while Yiya and Wen Tao were infuriated. Such slander was really contemptible. But there were still people who were slightly swayed by such words.
"In the last period, you have traveled alone in the third area, and you have even killed a rare Sacred Lord like the Young Human Emperor," Tian Shenyi continued speaking. Even though he didn't state openly that Jiang Chen was possessed by an evil spirit, his implication was already obvious.
Many people nodded and found such an argument reasonable.
"Jiang Chen has risen too quickly, and this isn't normal."
"Moreover, many people killed by him were quite outstanding."
"He had previously a conflict with the Royal Power Association and ended up cast away by it. He then faced the Blood Clan's great army alone. Yet, he still came back safe and sound. It's really suspicious."
Many denunciations arose.
Yiya became slightly anxious because she clearly knew Jiang Chen's character, and he surely wouldn't bother to explain anything while facing such accusations, which would let Tian Shenyi's plot prevail.
"Why don't you use fresh blood to verify it?" Yiya quickly said.
One couldn't decide that someone was possessed by an evil spirit just by mere words.
"It's out of the question, someone like him is surely a great and superior evil spirit, and usual methods will be useless against him," Tian Shenyi wouldn't let Yiya do what she wanted.
"What do you want?"
"I want him to receive the divine light's baptism without putting up any resistance," Tian Shenyi said.
Upon hearing this, Jiang Chen revealed a cold sneer, while Yiya spoke in mockery, "Why don't you let Jiang Chen put his sword against your neck?"
The divine light's baptism possessed great destructive power, and if Jiang Chen didn't guard against it, he would likely end up suffering heavy injuries.
"I'm a descendant of Gods, and I come to the world to get rid of the calamity looming over it. You should obey my arrangements as they are fair and just," Tian Shenyi said.
Jiang Chen shrugged his shoulders. His patience was exhausted, and he said, "Aren't you blabbering ceaselessly just because you want to fight? Why do you need to beat around the bush?"
Tian Shenyi, whose motives were exposed, didn't get angry, and he said, "You have a guilty conscience, don't you?"
"So, if he doesn't accept your preposterous requests, it's just because he has a guilty conscience?" Yiya asked.
"Sirs, what do you think?" Tian Shenyi didn't argue with her, and his voice reverberated throughout the whole city's sky.
"It will be better to inspect him to ensure our safety."
"That is right, we must be careful so that everything goes smoothly."
"After all, Jiang Chen is too freakish."
The resounding voices left Yiya at a loss for words. However, it was fortunate that most people just kept their silence.
"What boring cheap tricks, one of your people was possessed by a Blood Clan member. Yet, you were unaware of it, and you are even passing down orders here. Even the word shameless is great praise for the likes of you."
Jiang Chen wasn't afraid of fighting Tian Shenyi. But he was aware that his opponent just wanted to infuriate him. Jiang Chen wouldn't easily take the bait, even though he didn't know why Tian Shenyi was doing this. Jiang Chen suddenly recalled something, and he sneered coldly. He said, "That said, it seems like I have heard somewhere the Divine Recluse Clan's origins."
Jiang Chen managed to evoke the crowd's curiosity with his words. The Divine Recluse Clan members always stated that they were descendants of God. But no one could clearly explain such a matter.
A grave expression appeared even on Tian Shenyi's face.
"In the ancient era, when the Nine Realms were still Xuan Huan Great Realm, heavenly gods really existed. They were above all clans, and they ruled the land. Like how a warhorse has several grooms, every heavenly god had a large number of servants. Afterwards, the heavenly gods left, and the servants didn't have anywhere to go. That was why they used the rewards they got from the Gods and called themselves Gods' descendants..." When Jiang Chen stated the last words, Tian Shenyi's expression had already become twisted. 
"Shut up!" Tian Shenyi didn't wait for Jiang Chen to finish narrating the story, and he shouted loudly, as if he had lost his reason. His voice scared the people in the vicinity, and they all moved back repeatedly.
When Tian Shenyi came back to his senses, he discovered that Jiang Chen was wearing a mocking look, while the people in the vicinity were pointing their fingers at him. Regardless of whether what Jiang Chen stated was true or fake, it still spread quickly and widely. Tian Shenyi, who was fond of slandering others, finally experienced such a feeling himself, and he felt quite unwell.
"I will tear you apart!" Tian Shenyi said coldly.
"The current you seems more like a person possessed by an evil spirit than me. It really seems like it's the case, or else, with how strong are the Divine Recluse Clan members, how would they allow someone in their team to be possessed by an evil spirit?"
Jiang Chen took several steps forward and said, "I will read the scripture aloud and verify whether you are possessed."
"You are talking rubbish!" Tian Shenyi shouted.
This time, the reaction of the spectators was more intense than when Tian Shenyi mentioned a similar matter previously. Many denunciations echoed one after the other like waves because they had all resented the Divine Recluse Clan for a long time.
Yiya who assumed that Jiang Chen would get the worst out of this set her mind at ease. She didn't expect that Jiang Chen still had such a side to him, and he managed to solve such a crisis with several words.
"Die!" Tian Shenyi couldn't help but attack, while he still carried out a Divine Transformation. He turned into a three-meter-long giant, while many golden symbols appeared on his skin.
The crowd was startled by this, and they held their breaths. They quickly quieted.
"How is it? You have something on your conscience, don't you?" Jiang Chen still didn't give up, and he continued attacking him verbally.
Tian Shenyi didn't say anything and just waved his blade. A deep crack appeared on the ground between him and Jiang Chen. Jiang Chen's body moved and he flew to a high altitude in the sky.
The blade beam which ended up missing its target destroyed a whole stone house and it harmed many people there.
"Jiang Chen, you will surely die today." Tian Shenyi's gaze locked into Jiang Chen and, as his body flickered, he flew at the same altitude.
Tian Shenyi wasn't a match for Jiang Chen in his ordinary state. However, he didn't depend upon his ordinary state to reach the eighth position on the Sacred Lord List. However, since he used the divine transformation since the beginning, many people became curious about Jiang Chen's fighting prowess.
"Myriad Transformations in an Instant!" It seemed like Tian Shenyi would satisfy the crowd's curiosity, and he used his strongest divine technique.
Tian Shenyi's whole body shone in blazing light, and he seemed like a heavenly god. He then escaped into the void, while his blade's light beam, which was as thin as a cicada wing, streaked across the whole battlefield. Myriad Transformations in an Instant Technique was a technique able to let one deliver 10,000 blade strikes in a single breath. Such blade strikes wouldn't be at random and would be in accordance with the opponent's reaction. This technique could be considered one of Tian Shenyi's many trump cards.
The spear in Jiang Chen's hands turned into a sword, while golden lightning erupted out and turned into flowing rays of light, while his sword's beams streaked around like lightning arcs.
The confrontation of blade and sword's light beams caused a constant cracking sound. But they still didn't create any shocking waves. However, even people who observed the fight from far away felt their scalps becoming numb, upon discerning how great was such power.


The war of gods left the earth no winners, but a broken world.
Thousands of years later, the soul of the God of war created a new world from the ruins.
Nine reincarnations for the same one belief.
A youngster looked up at the starlit sky with his sword in hand.
Monsters, demons, evil persons…Whoever had the nerve to damage this world would end up dying.
To see how a youngster got onto the top of the world little by little, inherited the soul of the God of war, and defend his own world!

Merlin was waiting. Right now, whoever manages to slip behind the other party's defences will have the advantage. There was only one more point left before the test concluded. So far, Truen had scored fifteen out of sixteen while Merlin only scored twelve.
The final test was simple. In order for Merlin and Freya to give Truen the green light to travel Earth and make the necessary preparations, both Gods needed to know if the wood elf would be able to handle any situation that came his way.
Truen was an archer with magic to aid him. Due to the lack of time to train in those skills of an archer, Freya's bow Sureshot was heavily relied on. Truen focussed most of his energy training his body to cope. Elves had good agility and fast reflex but after the training, Truen's reflexes were only a fraction slower than Freya's. Coupled with magic sensing, the archer had virtual eyes all over the place. It was very difficult to sneak past Truen and launch a sneak attack.
Merlin smiled. Although his grimoire was more powerful, Truen sure knew how to pick his spells for Sureshot. Although the wood elf still had four more empty slots, the eight spells that Truen chose worked very well in a combination. Merlin's grimoire paled in comparison when it came to effectiveness.
The test arena was in the dream dimension. The invigilator was Freya who was in charge of controlling the space restriction and illusions. The targets were often moving around in disguises such as monsters, beasts or stationary boards. Both Merlin and Truen had to seek them out after discerning them from illusions and destroy them. If any of them fell for illusions, a point will be deducted. For every successful destruction of a target, a point will be added. The first to get sixteen points will be the victor and for Truen to pass this test, he had to reach sixteen before Merlin.
The wizard found out how inconvenient some of his more powerful spells were in the test. The massive scale destruction spell he used at the beginning made him go into negative hundred. He might have destroyed all the existing targets but he also wiped out ten times more illusions that Freya prepared. Merlin called out foul but Freya wouldn't hear it.
"It's fair. I explained the rules and you should have understood."
After that, Merlin could bite his hat in frustration and slowly work his way up to sixteen from a negative two hundred and six points. Thankfully, the Wizard God was a lot faster at discerning illusions and shot down targets without difficulty. Truen decided that staying close to Merlin wasn't going to do him any good and for the first hour, the wood elf hunted miserably at the other side of the forest arena.
Merlin quickly recovered his points after sniping every single one of Truen's target and the wood elf got pissed. Changing his tactic, Truen locked-on a target on Merlin's back instead. He sent his indestructible elemental golems to hinder Merlin's hunting. Once Merlin spotted a target and fired a spell, Truen's golems would stand in the way and block the spell while the wood elf took a snipe at the target.
Merlin got angry and called out foul play again but Freya told the enraged wizard that there were no rules against tactics like that. Ever since then, Merlin tried everything at his disposal to get rid of Truen. He only needed a few more points to win but Truen kept stealing them from under his nose. Hence, the petty wizard could only resort to hiding from the wood elf's sharp eyes and hunt silently.
Merlin wasn't doing so well because while he lay low, Truen was already moving independently. the scores increased steadily and Merlin figured out that he couldn't simply focus on himself. He had to stop his student somehow!
It was exactly that conclusion that arrived at the current stalemate for both parties. Merlin had set traps all over the arena and Truen had to be careful of them or he would spend too much time trying to get out of it while Merlin bagged the win. two of Truen's golems had fallen into those traps and the wood elf tried to free them to no avail. Traps of this complexity had to be carefully disarmed with a lot of patience that the archer didn't currently have.
The last target stared at the hunters and galloped away. Freya was enjoying the spectacle way too much. Seeing Merlin's usually prim and proper appearance looking so dishevelled brought joy to her sadistic heart. Truen was turning out to become the best investment she ever made.
The gazelle was a quick animal and Truen didn't want to spend time trying to look for it again so he moved. Likewise, Merlin didn't want Truen to have that last point and activated the trap ahead. The target fell right into Merlin's trap and gave out a pitiful whine before disintegrating. 
Having been lured into giving away his initial position, Truen quickly made his escape before Merlin could place one of those pesky tracking spells on him. All he needed to graduate from this hellish training was just one more point. Merlin's persistence was starting to get on Truen's nerves and he briefly considered using Soul Count on Merlin. Imagine the surprise the Great God and King Yama will have after realising that the person they were after turned out to be Merlin. Still, he ruled that option out. Soul Mark was for enemies, not for annoying wizards. He will win this as fairly as he could.
Splitting his parallel mind, Truen created another golem to act as a decoy with his form. The golem ran in the opposite direction and fired an area detection spell so that Truen could identify the new target. Once the clone was returned to him, Truen turned to the right sharply. One more target and Freya actually made it easy this time.
Truen fired a time distortion spell and cast a strong illusion barrier while hiding the Pagoda Prison trap beneath so that Merlin will step into it if the sneaky wizard decides to interfere again. At the same time, Truen made several clones and had them act as lookouts while one tested the ground for traps.
True to his suspicion, the clone he sent ahead avoided a trap that Merlin placed earlier. The activation of the trap must have alerted Merlin about his whereabouts so Truen had to act quickly. The target was hidden well but once Truen was settled in an angle, he fired six shots in rapid succession, all imbued with different elemental magic.
A twang from the bow alerted Truen of Merlin's arrival. Two of his clones were taken out in a flash and the remaining two battled with the wizard God, leading him into their trap. Merlin wasn't easily fooled. He dismissed the illusion and avoided the Pagoda Prison. However, that smirk fell when Freya announced that the match was over.
Truen heaved a sigh of relief. He bought enough time for the last arrow to reach the stationary target and gained that last point he needed to win. That hard-earned point used up all the tricks Truen had and the wood elf didn't want to go through such a test ever again.
Freya returned the dreamscape to its original setting and smiled like a proud mother. She studied Truen carefully with a rare tender look in her eyes. Truen felt oddly nervous and clutched Sureshot tightly. Merlin grumbled at a corner but there were no hard feelings. Although the wood elf was still far from being powerful, his opponent was  Sage God. Merlin gave Truen some leeway and still felt a strange sense of satisfaction watching Truen panting hard, covered in sweat from the exertion. the brat really gave it his all and that resolve was enough for Merlin.
"I think it's time I gave you this," Freya said and surprised Truen with a gift.
Other than the body he had, the communicator, some clothes and Sureshot, Truen didn't think that the Gods would give him anything else. It wasn't a necessity after all.
It was a small hand sewn pouch on the outside that many merchants used to store gold coins with but on closer inspection, the pouch radiated with unusual magic.
"This is..."
Freya grinned. "Isis and I worked hard to make it. This is a space-time storage pouch similar to Zero's inventory but it has a limit of about two large chests so use it wisely."
Two large chests worth of space could prove to be very valuable for Truen on his travels. Unless he needed to store a third of the sea from a random planet, Truen wouldn't run out of space so quickly. He thanked Freya and smiled fondly, tying the pouch to his waist. The pouch was valuable so Freya explained that anti-theft enchants had been placed on it with a recognition feature. Truen was touched.
"Congratulations of passing the final test," the Goddess smiled, the pride in her eyes made Truen feel as if all those months of training was worth it.
Merlin also gave Truen something and congratulated him much to the archer's surprise. The wizard simply snapped a cold metal bracelet on Truen's left wrist and the band shrunk to fit snugly around the elf's wrist.
"Don't try. It cannot be removed."
The wood elf looked at his teacher with wide eyes. Was this some sort of revenge punishment or tracker?
"This is a mana bank, it works better than any pills or mana recovery potion. During non-critical moments when your body has more than enough mana, it will charge the bracelet. This is a magical artefact created by me using advanced alchemy so I don't know the limits of the storage but it will stop when it is full. I've tested it out several times. The mana it can store would enable Zero to use the blessing Judgement at least twice before it runs out."
Truen felt his jaw fall as Merlin explained. A magic artefact... who would imagine that the uncaring Merlin would make something so precious for him?
"It was modelled after my first golem that's currently working in Zero's flower farm."
Truen paused. "Robo Mike?"
Merlin cringed at the name but nodded anyway. "That's the one. This thing has a huge capacity so it might take you a while to actually charge it before you see a change. I've set the thing to start absorbing your mana only after your body has reached an eighty percent capacity so that you can still react to situations with enough mana reserves. Don't think of manually force charging the device, it won't work. I've had enough of your recklessness!"
Truen blushed. It might be true that he acted recklessly without care for his well-being at times. However, that was because he had faith in the vessel Gaia gave him. The regenerative abilities of this body were able to cope with many things including growing out missing limbs. there weren't many things Truen had to be wary about in the conventional sense. Thanks to Merlina and Freya's training, he had also gotten used to near-death encounters. The archer simply got up, shrugged them off and moved on. PTSD was a thing of the past now since death has become more or less a norm for him.
"Alright, we won't hold you back any longer. Take a week off. Zero will be coming for the meeting in Heaven so you will get to see him for a while before you leave for your adventures. I heard that Half Moon Village is already starting to move. You might want to join the dragons for a little while to build your connections and resources."
Truen nodded. "Thank you, Goddess Freya. I will be in contact."
Both Gods congratulated the elf on his graduation once more and left the dreamscape. Now that he was alone, Truen decided to take a few hours for a good nap. How long has it been since he had decent sleep? He couldn't recall.
Part of him wanted to tell Zero about the good news but the last time he heard from the teen, Zero was too busy to even eat while working at the clinic in the abyss. The other part of Truen wanted to keep this joy to himself for a little while and surprise the hardworking brunet later when he saw him again.
Whichever the case, Truen had discussed it with Hua Tuo that he would see the physician for a while before he left for his adventures. Once Zero was done with his training in Heaven, they would meet again at Half Moon Village. Truen wanted to acquaint himself with Zero's alliances before he travelled. He couldn't meet them earlier due to circumstances but now that he was finally free, it was common courtesy to show his face to the dedicated powers backing the adorable boy.
With a yawn, the thousand thoughts swimming inside of Truen's head died down into nothing and the wood elf slept like he had never slept before, snoring and sprawled out on the ground, completely dead to the world around him.

The Rampaging Deity Body was a Great Snow Mountain Secret Art. However, in the past, the Guardian Deity's Rampaging Deity Body had only been used on the mountain peak he cultivated on. Now, it seemed like life had been breathed into it.
As he strode across the mountain, it grew three meters taller per step. Ever since the Guardian Deity had met Luo Yunyang, he had already taken a total of 100 steps, so it was already 400 meters tall.
This was a mountain peak. A huge mountain peak.
If the Great Snow Mountain was an unbeatable battle fort, the entrenched Guardian Deity was the fort master.
The Guardian Deity was full of mettle. He had finally achieved this result after many years of cultivation. When the legendary rock rose with the wind, it soared straight to the heavens!

"You could say that," the Guardian Deity said indifferently. "At first, I was planning on killing you, but after seeing you, I decided that killing you would be a waste."
"You killed 18 of my subordinates with one technique. You are really a maverick. You actually remind me of a book I read before the apocalypse. It was about an undisciplined monkey that got out of control; just like you."
The Guardian Deity seemed pleased with himself as he added, "In the end, he was also subdued and trained as a disciple."

As the right arm moved down, the mountain peak crumbled.
Although the motion appeared slow, it actually was extremely fast. In the blink of an eye, the Rampaging Deity Body had destroyed an entire mountain peak.
The powerful figures watching the satellite broadcasts were silent. They had all sensed a boundless power as that palm had descended slowly.
