Mia/mystery's mom: Mystery, I bet you will enjoy going to Aunt Anita's , you always do.

Mystery: Mother, I do enjoy seeing my aunt, but I don't think I acquire the aid of friendship, to have a better time.

Mia: Mystery, I know you like to be alone, but think of it, this way, all great detectives need partners.

Mystery: Alright, I will stoop to the level of friendship to find a partner, and to get more respect from you, I hope you are filled with joy.

Mia: Yes, I am happy, but I still need to see progress.

Mystery (seeing a girl): The progress starts now".

(The girl is twelve-year-old girl with raven-like hair, blue headband, white skin, blue dress with white swirls, and pink shoes, that's Sally holding a notebook)

(Mystery walks up to Sally, Sally turns around and smiles. But, a tall man with short black hair, wearing a red suit,gets in the way looking odd)

Mystery (trying to get to Sally): Uh, excuse me, mister, I need to get to the girl with the notebook, so I can make a partner in my journey of being a detective.

Uncle Quentin: I'm sorry, I can't my sister tell me, not to let strangers within ten feet of Sally.

Sally: Uncle Quentin let her pass (Uncle Quentin moves) that's my uncle and bodyguard, my mother is overprotective, I'm Sally.

Mystery: I'm Mystery, detective, lover of old movies, and help in need.

Mystery (looking at Sally): And judging by your look, notebook, and uncle, I'm guessing you're a girl that loves gossip, finding out the truth, and hates being rich.

Sally: You really are a detective, but why you didn't say my secret, you obviously know.

Mystery (gives Sally her card): That's not my story to tell, but I might be able to help you, if you want it.

(Mystery runs, seeing her mom wave to her, before she gets inside the plane.
On the steps, Mystery waves goodbye to Sally and walks to her private plane.
That plane is purple, looks like a regular plane, but modified.)

I explains a world you didn’t figure out or you did

Major woke up by the loud sound of his alarm. He groans as he sits up and stretches his arms. He yawns and looks at his phone for messages. He receives one from an unknown number, he deletes the message before reading it and searches for some important one. After scrolling for more, he finds Lilibush's message saying that they might know who is their mystery killer. He gasps in silence then immediately runs to his bathroom to wash up before cooking himself breakfast then he will be on his way. After he eats breakfast, he fumbles his keys while walking when he suddenly sees someone familiar he just can't remember where he saw the person. He went inside his car and starts it up when he receives another message. He looks at it and finds out that it is Ren Sage. He furrows his brow and asks himself, 'How the hell Ren knows his phone number?' He shrugs the thought and steps on the gas. At the time he reaches his destination, chaos definitely devours their office. Papers and fliers everywhere, a wailing mother asking for her child's justice is being held by other officers and worried parents who want to know who could be the killer. He sighs to himself as he proceeds to his chair. " Late morning to you, Major," Detective Amour said. "Pretty sure, I am on time, Detective," Major replies. Amour chuckles and pats his shoulder. "Do you think we will finally find out who is our mystery killer?" Amour asks. "Speaking of, what happened?" Major asks. "It's gruesome, I warn you," Amour said before borrowing a chair from Cantaloupe. Major nods and faces the older detective. Amour clears his throat and begins what happened earlier that day. "It started as a normal day, filled with paper works and reports. When we heard a wailing woman asking Detective Cris to find her missing son. They tried to apprehend her until a dispatcher asks for assistance to a local playground near Granson's Cafe, do you know that?" Amour asked. Major looks at him confusedly when he suddenly remembers the place. "The old playground where the rusty merry-go-round is?" Major asks. "Bingo!" Amour said. "So, we went there with the wailing mother since she insists to come with us. In all my life, that ride would probably be the longest ride I've ever had. I think Lilibush would probably agree with me. Anyway, as we got to our destination, frantic parents and crying children were the ones who welcomed us to the scene of the crime. A very nervous security guard is the one who leads us to the place where the body is found. And there, lying a faceless child who was brutally murdered by our mystery killer," Amour added. "How did you exactly knew that the child was killed by our mystery killer?" Major asks curiously. Amour sighs and stands up to get something from his drawer. When he came back to Major, he puts down a flower in front of him. "Freesia," Amour said as he sits down. "It means innocence and thoughtfulness just like a child," he adds. Major holds the flower and looks at it intently. "How did you identify the flower and where did you get the meaning, Detective?" Major asks. Amour scoffs and answers, "Michael over there had a botanist brother. He is the one who helped us identify the meaning of the flower. It looks someone is trying to relive their childhood memory, he also said," Major looks more confuse. Amour chuckles and said, "Us too, kid. We are more than confused by these meanings," Major nods and about to ask the older detective again when a forensic member came in the office. 
"May I have your attention, please?" she announces. "We have the DNA result of the victim. The child's name is Jared Kunal, he is a 3-year-old kid who was found dead in an old and rusty merry-go-round. According to our observations on the victim, the boy sustained bruises on his face and arm and a bite mark on his back. A laceration was also found on his neck that caused his death. According to the rigor mortis of the victim, he died two days ago. And our unique witness is also a four-year-old boy named Alster Rose. He is now being interrogated by other officers," she said. Frustrated groans can be heard in the office while Major is still holding his breath and thinking, 'How can someone kill an innocent kid? What did the kid ever do to the killer?' His thoughts were paused when the forensic leader clears his throat. "Unto our next agenda," he said as he adjusts the projector so the detectives will have a clear vision of their killer. "As you know, we obtained a DNA sample from the bite mark of the victim that lead us to our killer," he said as he looks around and a few nodding officers answers him. "According to the DNA obtained, our mystery killer is a woman in her mid-30s, has blue eyes, and dark brown hair. And this woman is named Hana Larkspur," he explains. A few whistles and amazed gasps were heard around the office when Lilibush counters, "But?" he asks. The forensic leader sighs and said, "Ms. Larkspur was found dead in a mini forest not so far from the old abandoned building near Granson's Cafe. She was dead for almost 3 months now," Another round of frustrated groans and heavy sighs can be heard around the precinct. "Fucking hell, another dead end?" Dru asks. "I believe so," the forensic leader sighs heavily. "Any other DNA on the scene?" Lilibush asks. "Ah, yes. It's this one," the forensic leader said and shows a red string that looks like from a ball of yarn. " This was tied around the victim's arms and legs. Unfortunately, there was no enough evidence or DNA to test this with," he said. Lilibush sighs and sits down in his chair. "Another dead end," Major said to himself when he felt his phone vibrates. He looks at it and found that it is Ren Sage who texted him. He opens his phone to fully read the message when he noticed something in his text.

Well hello, Detective. I didn't expect you to answer. I got your number from when you are supposed to go to Astera and I stopped you. You are with the other detectives at that time. Anyway, I just replied to you to give you a warning. Stop messing around with the people of Emir City. They are not actually friendly. They are more secretive. You know, I heard the news that a kid was found dead at the old playground near Granson's Cafe. Don't solve that crime. I warned you, detective. Do not solve that crime or the city's monster will be mad at you.

PS: Are you free tonight? Let's have dinner at Granson's Cafe. I will tell you everything that I know. But keep this a secret.

Major's furrows his brows more when he agrees to his invite. He needs to know his information that's his purpose for taking the offer and not just the date. He exhales and looks around the precinct. Most of the detectives are all frustrated on finding the answer to this mystery so maybe, whatever Ren's information is could help. He just hopes that they could help.

Is he the killer? Or is he their hero?

Primrose… eight letters, two syllables, and one name. He is known as the mysterious killer who leaves his victims unrecognizable. He usually roams the city at night, stalks his victims, and launches on them in wearing his favorite coat and a pair of black gloves. He is the man that sent shivers to the people of Emir City, the city which has the most number of crimes in all the land. He is the man that they fear even before the sun rose over the horizon and illuminated the city. 

But what does Primrose have that the people are scared of him? Or were they not really scared of the man?

"Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth." —Conan Doyle. A quote that seems to be the crux behind solving anything with a hint of mystery.

Mysteries can be compared to puzzles. However, the supposed 'pieces' of this puzzle a sentient and emotional people who are not willing to just stand around unless confined by a specific reason to do so.

Even in detective games, the criminal is always trying to hide the evidence, which in turn leads to the slipping up and accidentally revealing their true identity. The whole 'detective vs criminal' shtick is popular in the wake of Sherlock Holmes, despite it not being the only way to write a mystery narrative.

The essential part to be aware of when writing a mystery isn't what information you share with the reader but the 'legitimacy' of that information. If it came from a suspect, then it is natural to assume the information to be false. Contrarily, if it was to come from someone the 'detective' trying to solve the mystery trusts, then the reader would take is as fact.

However, just because I say that doesn't mean that trusted people should always be believed and suspects should be ignored. After all, the beginning of any mystery always makes sure that no one is safe from being seen as 'suspicious', even friends.

In this context, you could say that until proven otherwise, there is no possible way for anyone to be trusted. I find this kind of setup to be a little too simple to work with since there are no stakes for the main character or even drama caused by suspicion.

On a related topic, one of my favourite Light Novel Author by the name of Nishio Isin is a master at creating intrigue through subtlety. In his most widely known works of the Monogatori Series, even the main character can be considered the 'culprit' sometimes in the mysteries he's trying to unravel.

The enjoyment I get from reading his works has nothing to do with the mysteries themselves, but rather the way they are presented. He never makes it so any of his characters encounter a mystery that they are not 'involved' with in some way.

For example: The mystery could be about the death of a pop star they admired, thus allowing for subtle characterisation as they work through the mystery using their own 'perspective' of what should be considered the most important clue in the mystery.

If that person is not a airhead but is more of a regular salaryman, then his deductions will be flawed or maybe even too simplistic. However, as a writer who seems obsessed about 'geniuses', there is always one particular person with a high IQ that can put the pieces together in a more convincing way.

This isn't just me gushing about my favourite author though. As I am clearly aware that his style of writing is less suited for thriller-type mysteries and instead focuses on the more 'personal' aspects of it. 

A person may find a clue because they can see it from the perspective of a gamer or maybe they'd see it through the lens of a storyteller if they are more of a bookworm. They are deeply personal, but these kinds of mysteries don't have any 'thrilling' aspects that arises from knowledge that time is ticking.

To insert these kinds of moments of tension, there are two requirements that need to be fulfilled for it to work. The first is something the protagonist could potentially 'lose' if he doesn't get something right while the second being properly paced events.

When a scene drags out, tension is built from the answer being found being so close yet still not leaving the tip of the author's tongue. An important moment is dragged with an air of suspense as the reader desperately wishes that the answer they received isn't something that will lead to a more tragic outcome. It is easy to point fingers at people you don't have feelings for, but what is a 'detective' supposed to do when the culprit is a friend?

No one is a logic machine that will choose the prim and proper approach to dealing with such a situation. If the answer that came from eliminating the possibilities is something they can't internally accept, then how would they respond?

It is both a test of character as well as their ability to not be sentimental when determining the cause for an event. Those who link mysteries with the supernatural also have fun with this situation as well. For example: What if the culprit was possessed? Or maybe even blackmailed into it?

This leads to deeper questions than who is the culprit or not and tackles the heart of morality in a cruel way, by forcing the main character to come up with a reply to those questions difficult to answer.

As you can tell, I am very fond of mysteries despite not having dabbled in it myself. As there are many possibilities that can be uncovered from just a simple interaction or maybe even something in the background. There is one more thing I'd like to talk about that has to do with the MC of a mystery.

Let's say the one trying to unravel the mystery isn't Sherlock Holmes one is a person with a exceedingly high IQ. In this situation, how is the main character supposed to figure out a mystery even those around him are unable to solve? The answer to this question is two things: Having help from someone with knowledge but not the perspective needed to put all the clues together in a convincing manner, or making it so the mystery is related to him deeply.

For example: Let's say the culprit is actually the main character's sister. It is of course more easier for him to gain more clues if that's the case since he would have more chances to find evidence on her than anybody else through knowing her intimately.

Finding a way to balance the simplistic aspects of a mystery along with the complexity of events that lead to it becoming a mystery at all in the first place is key. You can't dump great amounts of irrelevant information and expect the reader to be invested into kicking out the 'irrelevant' information in order to find that one answer everyone is looking for.

What a good mystery entails is that the seemingly irrelevant bits of information are put together in ways even the reader should be able to figure out by themselves. Some information can be used as alibis to narrow down the culprit while seemingly unimportant events could increase the suspicion on the person who is truly the culprit in the mystery.

This is a story I worked on ages ago that has been refined and edited by adding foreshadowing to events while also simplifying the power system better than before. This story can be considered a prequel to An Adventure Beyond Greatness as it takes place years prior to the events of that story.

Short Synopsis:
After retiring from the battlefield, my life became empty and lifeless. The regrets of my past haunt me in my sleep. Then a change occurred, a King from another world summoned me to fight for his kingdom, but I died even before I could give him my answer. Now, after a fake God allowed me to reincarnate (albeit imperfectly) with my memories intact, into a world filled with magic and swords.

Long Synopsis:
This is about a flawed protagonist who only knew to rely on others and not socialise who gets a second chance to change himself in order to live the life he aimed for in his past life. The narrator isn’t exactly trustworthy since it is purely in his bias perspective while other perspectives given by others fill in the blanks that he either leaves out or twists to suit the situation.

The story itself can be considered a parody of Isekai’s classic tropes which are given a sense of reality as time goes by. As there exists no ‘Demon Lord’, there is also no black and white, only characters opinions and counter-opinions throughout the story.

Chloe cut through the park, staying just within the trees lining the edge. She jumped or fell over a fence separating the housing development from the park and school. She walked along the hedge in the next-door neighbor's backyard and darted to the door and windows looking for a way in. 
One of Nicki's friends had taken Geoffrey, so she didn't have to worry about him giving her away. She thought she could try the kitchen window. It was too tall, so she looked around and found a planter to stand on. It was wobbly, but she found the window was actually unlocked. She was working on lifting the window. It was so damned stiff she pushed it up from one angle and then another, and it inched little by little. 

"Fuck! If I weren't so getting so fat, I wouldn't need to lift it this much." Chloe growled through gritted teeth. She finally managed to get it up and wiggled in, accidentally kicking the planter over, knocking it into a rickety-looking chair, which fell over as well. Freezing in place with her bottom half hanging out the window and the rest of her hovering over the kitchen sink, she listened for someone coming to catch her and haul her to jail. She didn't hear anything more, so she proceeded to wiggle in and tumbled to the floor, banging her head, and elbow on the way down. 

"Ow!" She rubbed her head and got up. "Ok. Clues, where are you," She whispered, walking around the house. When she got to the bedroom, she stopped and the open door before entering and rushed to the bathroom to throw up in the toilet. She hadn't realized how much blood there would be. Stains all over the bed and walls and the floor and the window and everywhere! She threw up again. She rinsed her mouth. "Clues. I need clues." She told herself in the mirror. 
Chloe walked cautiously into the bedroom and looked around, trying to avoid looking at the blood, which was nearly impossible. She ended up staring at the window and wondering if the neighbor really couldn't see in. Maybe someone saw something whoever lived over there. She couldn't recall who lived on that side of the Moulton's. Yeah, the old bat was on the other side, but who…Chloe heard sirens. Fuck! She dashed out the back door, stumbled over the planter, and slammed right into the mystery man who needed a nude model.

"What the hell!" She said as he held her steady so she would fall.

"Have you rethought our deal?" He asked her casually as if this were a perfectly normal place to meet up and talk about it. Maybe it was normal for him.

"Um…" Chloe's mind was going frantic. The sirens were close. She didn't have time, and she hadn't gotten any clues. She was going to prison.

"We can go now." He said, looking at his watch. "Sometimes I rent out my studio, but it should be free in about fifteen minutes."

"Uh…" She stared at him and realized he was her only way out. And the way he was talking, she would be away from the police for the rest of the day at least. Even if he didn't have this miraculous proof of her innocence, at least she would have more time to think.

"If we leave now, we can probably finish up sometime tonight." 

"Fine! I'll go." She told him quietly resigned, and out of nowhere, he produced a black wool cape and a long brown wig. He put glasses on her and dragged her to the hedges, where he lifted her up and over, then he came flying over behind her. She just looked at him through the glasses, stunned. He grabbed her hand and led her nonchalantly to the front-drive. The cops were now at the Moulton's, and she watched as Detective Johnson drove past and rushed across the yard.

"Where is she?" Liam bellowed.

"Um, we don't know yet, sir. Mrs. Casper said she heard a racket in the yard and saw a lady in the house through the windows. So far, we've found nothing." One of the officers answered him.
Why are we out in the open where everyone could see me? She thought. Disguise or no, isn't this dangerously close? 
The mystery man let go of her hand and opened the passenger door to the black Camaro in the drive. Oh! He's the next-door neighbor! No wonder he looked familiar. She finally realized.

"Hey!" Detective Johnson called, and Chloe turned to see him walking across the yard towards them. The mystery neighbor paused what he was doing and looked up casually.

"Yes, Detective Johnson?" Apparently, he had talked to him before. She was going to prison now. There was no way out of this.

"Have you seen anyone around the Moulton's house? We got a tip there was a woman seen walking around inside."

"Oh? Well, no, I wouldn't have. I was fucking my girlfriend." He nodded towards Chloe, and she smiled politely and blushed furiously. Fucking? The mystery guy nudged her softly, and she got in the car. He walked around the front of the car to meet Detective Johnson. "Sorry, I couldn't be of any help. My attention was on one woman, unfortunately not your woman." 

"Right. Um, well, if you see anything, do give me a call." Detective Johnson responded, and he looked like he was blushing. Did he really think of her as his? And was it obvious to others?

"Of course. Good luck." The mystery guy got into the car and backed out, taking Chloe away from utter doom.
